Rocket smiled after getting up and ready to go to Piper and Rocke's BBQ, he'd bought chocolate pje from the diner as Rocke said it was okay, to bring something for the BBQ knowing Rocke loved that pie but he was wearibg a hoodie with the Guardians emblem on it with elasticated jeans which surprised Ranger and Rocket Senior as they only saw him in his armohr. "It's no big deal guys. My team is resting after the mission we went on a few days ago." he told them seeing Ranger had brought sone of his bio-engineered corn on the cob making Rocket smile. "You sure they'll like the corn." Ranger asked seeing him nodding.
"Yup he and Piper will love it, but we should get going." he said as they activated their teleporter bracelets appearing outside Rocke's house only for sone reason, Rocket felt nervous and alsi excited taking deep-breaths which Eanger abd Rocket Senior noticed. "You okay, as it's just a BBQ and most of the Dynasty is here, like Steamboat playing his accordion and making mint julips." Rocket Senior assured him.
"Yeah, wait… where's Rocke, he's not here." Rocket mumbled heading to the table putting the pie box on the table where the rest of the Dynasty had put theur contributions impressing Piper noticing the look on his face sensing he noticed, Rocke wasn't outside. "He's a lil anxiohs right now, and yes, he's using his pendant but maybe, you can help him. He taljs aboht you just as much as John and Yoko." she said which surprised him. "I'm just as big as John and Yoko to him, wow…" he said going inside despufe Rocke's kits running aroubd with Itsy, Linda and Shocket's kids hearing Rocke singing softly guessing it was the Beatles or John gently tapping his shoulder seeing him surprised, that Rocket was by his side.
"I didn't see you oht there and Piper told me, you were anxious so I came to see you, to see if you wwre okay." he told him.
"I am a lil anxious aboht the BBQ being socially anxious, like when I used to perform with my band." Rocke admitted as tears fell stunning Rocket. He was used to seeing the innocent, happy Rocke who worshipped John Lennon and the Beatles who was a pacifist and a good member of the Dynasty, not sad or anxious wrapping his arms around Rocke in a hug which was making the Liverpoolian accented male tenuki feel a lil better. "Thanks Rocket, as I needed that and used my pendant to calm down as other people make me anxious." he replied. "That's okay buddy, besides I'll be here if you need it." Rocket told him as they went outside astoubding Piper. She'd been manning the grill making burgers and other things.
"How did you get him, to cone oht, Rocket." she whispered to him offering Rocke a big burger. "Thank you Piper." Rocke said sitting under a shady tree eating relieving Piper and Rocket letting him have his space but Piper was pouring pink lemonade into a cup bringing it to the make-tenuki seeing pink Lennonade as he called it. This made Rocket smile at Rocke's quirkiness making Piper nodding seeing the kids eating together which they found sweet.
"Rocket… thank you." Piper said astounding Rocket. "Ummmm you're welcome but why're you thanking me, Piperask." he told her. "Because since we moved to 616, Rocke has been feeling blue but since you've been aroubd him, he's been happier than I've ever seen plus you got him, to come out." she replied to him making him understand and nod
That night while getting ready for bed, Rocket was thinking about what Piper had told him, feeling his phone buzz as it was Rocke smiling replying to him sensing he was tired despite the BBQ being fun. He lay down in bed on his side zoning-out into sleep just as Ranger checked on him smiling closing Rocket's door knowing he was tired after the lomg day knowing that he and Rocke were sweet together.
"He's asleep dad, but was texting on his phone, probably to Rocke." Rangertold Rocket Senior making him chuckle and were tired so headibg to bed along with Ranger.
