Chapter 1

The Unlikely Hero

The Council of Elders Temple

This building is where the oldest members of the Pupununu Tribe decided that Jibolba would be the new high shaman.

Tlaloc stormed out of the building in rage.

"Pins Needles!"

He shouted as he walked out.

His two voodoo doll minions.

"Yes Boss"

Pins responded.

Needles with his mouth sewed shut mumbled out a "Yes Sir"

"Those idiots chose that old fool, it's time to begin the plan."

HIs dark juju magic resonated and the three vanished just as Jibolba walked out with his apprentice Tak.

Tak saw some of the remnants of Tlaloc's magic.

"Hmm?"

He looked at it curiously before it vanished.

"Come along now Tak, it's a long journey back to the village."

"I still don't see why we don't have one of those warp gates to take us directly back to the village."

Jibolba shook his head

"You still have much to learn,a shaman must familiarize themselves with the land around them, knowing how to move, what to find, how to channel the juju around them."

He waved his hands around.

"And besides those warp gates are made from rare material and building one could take years."

Jibolba started walking down the path.

"I guess that makes sense."

Tak followed behind his mentor.

It took hours to reach the entrance of the village.

"Hey Jibolba, what's going on over there?"

Tak pointed up towards dark magic that was moments away from striking the center of the village.

"Get behind me now!"

Jibolba shouted before he began chanting.

Just as the dark magic hit the center.

A purple barrier formed around Jibolba and Tak.

People around them one by one turned into sheep.

After a few moments the barrier around them vanished but everyone around them was turned into sheep.

"The prophecy has begun."

Jibolba said as he was exhausted from the barrier he created.

"It's time?"

Tak questioned.

"Yes,go find Lok, I will return to my hut, make sure we have everything that we might need."

The two split up.

As this was happening the Moon Juju was watching Tlaloc's plan unfold.

Everyone is getting turned into sheep.

She was sitting down, her powers drained and forced to watch helplessly as the people she tried to protect turned into helpless sheep.

"Oh what are we going to do?"

She said as her two daughters Flora and Fauna entered the chamber.

"You called us mom?"

Flora asked the two to float to her.

"Yes my daughters, the Pupanunu's people's prophecy has begun, my powers are weakened and we need to do something to remedy this catastrophe."

The two were surprised by this as they looked upon the weakened Juju.

"Then the mighty warrior has shown itself, hoping they can measure up to the prophecy's expectations."

Fauna stated.

"I'm afraid it's not that simple, look."

The Moon Juju pointed towards her viewing sphere.

It showed that the village people were turned into sheep.

"Oh no!"

Flora said.

"Is there anything we can do to help?"

"I'm afraid there's not much we can do.I barely have enough power to watch what's happening outside of the Juju Realm."

The Moon Juju shook her head.

"Everyone who was in the Village has been turned into sheep."

Flora looked closely at the viewing sphere.

"What about those two?"

She pointed towards the edge of the village.

Tak and Jibolba split up, going in different directions.

Moon Juju looked at them.

"There might be hope yet."

She sat up a little.

"Flora, go help those two out, guide them in any way you can."

Flora nods.

"Fauna make sure the people turned sheep are safe, we don't want any casualties."

"Fine, but it'll take a lot to keep all of the Sheep People from going off a cliff or something."

The two daughters vanished in the leaves.

Jibolba was going over the notes he had on the Puppanunu People's Prophecy.

"Hmm it would be in our best interest to have Lok collect the Moon Stones as fast as possible."

He quickly turned around when he heard a loud sheep.

"Tak! What are you doing?"

He saw his apprentice holding a sheep wearing an amulet.

"You told me to go get Lok."

He responded while putting the sheep down.

"Yes,that's right,go fetch Lok, stop playing with the sheep."

"I did get Lok."

"No,you fetched a dirty,stinky animal."

"That's Lok."

Tak explained while pointing at the amulet the sheep was wearing.

"See?He's wearing Lok's amulet. Tlaloc must have changed him into a sheep."

"No no no, No this is all wrong!"

He fell to his hands and knees.

"This isnt in the Pu- Pu- Pu- Pu- Pu-"

"Pupununu"

"Pupanunu's people's prophecy! The mighty warrior doesn't become a sheep! The mighty warrior doesn't lick my foot."

He smacked the sheep away from him.

"Stop the licking Lok!"

Jibolba stood up

"Oh this is terrible."

"Can't we just change him back?"

Tak asked.

"I don't know."

He then looked up.

"Yes,I've got it! We can change Lok back into a mighty warrior!"

Jibolba went back to his notes.

"Wait but wasn't that-"

Tak was interrupted by Jibolba

"The transformation spell is going to take four Nuba will not be easy but we need them."

He turned back to his apprentice.

"Tak the Nubu plants are in different parts of the land including the ancient burial ground of our ancestors. While you're there you must obtain the staff of the ancestors."

Tak sighed.

"Alright I'll do it,but what are you going to do?"

"It's going to take a lot of Juju Magic in order to make the spell work even with the Nubu Plants. I'll be preparing in the meantime."

Tak nods, he knows at this point in time it's best to trust his mentor.

He exits the hut looking at the people turned into sheep all around the village.

"This is going to be a long day."

"You can say that again."

Tak was surprised to hear a voice he didn't recognize and looked around.

A combination of magic and green leaves formed in front of him.

Flora appeared in front of him.

"Hi there Tak, my name is Flora."

"Uh hi?"

Tak was very confused.

Flora saw the confused look on her face.

"The Moon Juju sent me here to hang out and help you whenever I can."

"Well I can say we definitely need the help."

Flora looked down.

"Yeah, anyway it's a long road ahead we better get started."

She transformed into a green ball of magic.

Flora flew ahead of Tak who began to follow her.

He reached the lift that leads to the Burial Grounds.

As the lift moved down Flora returned to her normal form standing next to Tak.

"So what should I expect from the Burial Grounds?"

Tak asked.

"You haven't been?"

"I've never been very far away from the village."

"Well it's where your Ancestors are buried, many were great Pupununu people. Oh and everyone is watched over by the great warrior king."

"And he's the one with the staff."

"Right."

The lift stopped and Tak stepped off the lift.

He walked down the path ahead of the lift, passing a waterfall across a ravine.

"Whoa"

Tak said to himself as he continued walking.

He exited the cave to see the Burial Grounds.

Enclosed by stone with face statues in different areas with small patches of grass and structures that appeared to be made out of bones.

Flora went in front of Tak.

"Oh I see the statues Jibolba was talking about. We should go over there."

She pointed forward at the four statues in front of the tomb.

Tak saw a path there and with a swing from a nearby rope and several jumps down ledges he was close by.

Right before he was about to step on the path three small green plants with mouths rose in front of him attempting to bite Tak.

"What the-"

Tak backed up quickly to avoid being bit.

Flora went into her travel ball form and flew around the plants.

"Flora what are these?"

Tak questioned.

"I'm not sure,I'm sensing a trace of the Numa Plant but this is different."

Tak looked at the plants ahead of him and one smack with his club and they were gone.

"I hope getting rid of those plants won't be a problem for you."

He looks at Flora with a concerned look.

Flora returned to her humanoid form and shook her head.

"My juju is mostly plant based but sometimes I need pieces of plants in order to mix potions for big juju magic."

She landed on the ground and felt it with her hand.

"This is different anyway, I can sense some Evil Juju."

Flora flew up and transformed again.

"We should hurry."

Tak didn't need to be told twice and after tricking a ram with some melons he reached the four face statues.

"I see one of the teeth, let's go get it."

"Teeth?"

Flora said, making Tak look at the tooth in the center between all the statues.

Tak walked up and picked up the tooth and it glowed when it got close to one of the statues.

He placed the tooth in the gap in one of the statues.

Suddenly one of the symbols above the tomb entrance.

"Hey Tak look. When we get all four teeth I think we'll get access to the tomb."

Flora commented.

"I'm guessing they're around here somewhere."

He looked around and noticed three glowing items in the distance.

"Putting the first one in must've revealed the others, lucky us."

"Yeah, very lucky, still going to be a trip to get all three."

"Look on the bright side, at least you don't have to get them one at a time."

Tak couldn't argue with that.

He went back down the path, the ram from before distracted with melons.

The tooth he was currently going after was a simple one, he jumped across these large rib like structures till he reached solid ground and grabbed the tooth in front of him.

Tak jumped across the bones to get back down and looked at the next tooth.

Like the last one it was higher up but this time it was too far of a jump.

Tak looked around, there was no way to jump around besides a nearby rope.

He jumped across platforms getting closer to the rope but right before he was about to jump a plant rose up and tried to bite him.

Tak saw this and fell down, dodging the bite and swinging his club directly at the plant.

He stood up.

"Where are these things coming from?"

Tak shook his head and jumped up towards the rope swinging on it.

"Alleyoop."

He landed nearly falling off the platform.

The tooth was right in front of him.

He picked up without delay.

"Two down, one to go."

The last one wasn't too far away.

In fact the way to this tooth was very similar to the second tooth, several platforms some were made of bone others actual ground.

"Guess the hard part's over."

He jumped across with ease, starting to get used to the amount of jumping he's been doing.

While most of his training has been in Juju he's practiced Lok's training's course actually at the recommendation of the sheep turned Prophecy warrior.

He said that maybe after several years Tak might be half as strong as himself.

Of course Tak rolled his eyes at this but after this he was starting to think the training was worth it.

Tak was one good jump away from reaching the tooth.

Suddenly right before he jumped something purple jumped at him pushing him onto the ground.

The purple gremlin looking creature attempted to bite and scratch at Tak.

His club had fallen to his side.

Using one hand to block the creature he reached for his club and after finally grabbing it he smacked the creature off a cliff.

"What…was that?"

Tak was breathing heavily.

Flora was waiting at the tomb examining the ground trying to locate the source of the evil juju.

Tak shook his head.

"Tooth then questions."

He went back up grabbing the last tooth.

After taking a moment to rest he returned to the path and was back at the tomb in no time.

He saw Flora feeling the ground.

"Everything alright?"

Tak asked.

"Unsure."

She looked at him.

"Do you have all the teeth?"

"Never thought in my life I would have to collect teeth."

He had tied them to sash around his back in front he used to hold his club.

"Why were teeth needed to open the tomb anyway?"

Tak asked as he placed the teeth in each statue one by one.

"I'm not sure exactly, it's clear the teeth are important to the Warrior King, maybe he'll tell you if you ask."

"Maybe..wait he's alive?"

Tak turned as he placed the last tooth making the tomb open.

Flora had transformed into her travel ball form and flew inside the tomb.

He followed her and approached the coffin in the center of the room.

Tak approached the coffin and it began to open.

The coffin lid was thrown to the side.

The Mummified Warrior King climbed out of the coffin, falling to the ground before using his staff to get up,standing in front of Tak.

He then began coughing.

"Cough drop?"

Tak asked.

The Warrior King coughed again.

"Whoa! Are you ok?"

"Oh,that happens all the time. Part of being mummified. You get these dust balls in your throat. They feel like little rocks."

The Warrior King gagged a little.

"So you're the great warrior of the Pupanunu people's prophecy. Come to pick up the staff of your ancestors? Well you don't look so great to me!"

"Me? I'm not a great warrior. That's Lok's job. I'm just here to take the staff to Jibolba."

"The prophecy says only the great warrior can have this staff. If you can take the staff from me, you are meant to have it."

Tak quickly pulled the staff away from the Warrior King.

As well as his right arm.

"Whoa."

Tak responded to the arm on the staff.

"Oh man, that's my fighting arm. What a drag. Take this staff, great warrior. Use it wisely and often."

He took his arm off the staff.

"And don't ever touch me again!"

The Warrior King returned to his coffin, closing it.

Flora reappeared in her humanoid form above the coffin.

"Yes,you did it, Tak! This is a powerful weapon.I bet you'll have no problem beating anything on our journey now."

"Like that purple creature that attacked me earlier?"

"Those are Nerbals. One of Tlalok's creations."

"So should I destroy them?"

"Yeah but I think we have other priorities at the moment."

She said as she returned to her travel form.

"Tak,do you remember the plants Jibolba talked about? We should find them."

She began to fly through a high up doorway.

"Maybe you should try using your new staff to get up to that door."

Flora exited the room and Tak using the staff pole vaulted himself up as well.

As Tak walked down the hallway like a cave he readjusted his sash to allow him to hold both his club and staff.

"Flora where's the plant i need to find?""

Tak asked as he reached the exit.

"One of the four we need is on the other side of the Burial Grounds, follow me."

Tak followed her.

Flora's travel form was fast but Tak could tell where she was going from her leaves.

She stopped above two platforms.

One had a large plant and the other had half a dozen Nerbals.

Tak sighed and took out the staff, pole vaulted over to the first platform spinning with the staff knocking two Nerbals into the chasm below.

Two Nerbals pounced at Tak who smacked them both several times destroying them.

The last one jumped on Tak's back.

He tried to shake it off him.

One more step and he would've plummeted to the bottom of the chasm.

Seeing this Flora quickly flew towards Tak in her humanoid form.

Before she could reach him.

Tak smacked the Nerbal onto the ground and smacked it off the platform and into the chasm.

"Phew."

He took a couple breaths before turning to Flora.

"You're ok?"

Flora asked, a little concerned.

"Yeah I'm fine, let's get that plant."

He pole vaulted over to the platform the Numa Plant was on.

"You need to take the smaller plant."

Flora said, returning to her travel form.

Tak began to approach the plant but before he could grab the plant he was suddenly smacked away.

The large plant had come to life.

Tak aimed his club at the plant.

"Flora is this normal?"

"No! The plant is under the influence of Tlalok's evil juju you need to take it out!"

The plant started throwing seeds that exploded when they hit the ground.

Tak dodged them quickly, running towards the plant with his club.

He dodged as he got close and the plant retaliated with its hands trying to grab Tak.

The plant began to charge some type of attack.

Tak saw this and jumped back.

A roar was heard and a wave of sonic energy emitted from the plant nearly hitting Tak.

He saw the plant moving slower after the attack.

Not wasting any time he immediately ran towards it,giving its head a hard smack to the ground.

The plant screamed before falling over dead.

Its mouth opened leaving the small plant Tak needed.

As Tak retrieved the smaller Numa Plant.

Flora began to examine the bigger one.

Tak put the small plant in a small bag he had attached to his side.

"One down, three to go."

He looked at Flora.

"Is something wrong?"

Flora looked at the plant with an angry look on her face.

"Messing with people,with nature."

She began to shout.

"It's unforgivable!"

Tak took a step back.

Flora saw Tak with a concerned look.

She took a deep breath.

"Sorry, just things aren't great right now."

"That's why we're out here right?"

Tak said reassuringly.

"To make things better."

Flora nods.

"Right right."

She returned to her travel form.

"We have more plants to find. I know where another one is but we need to get back to the village first."

Tak nods and notices something in the distance.

"No way."

Tak pole vaulted back to the main ground and began walking.

He stopped when he reached the warp gate for the Burial Grounds.

"Jibolba taught me about these,if i just focus and"

He took a step on the bottom of the gate and a portal opened in front of him.

"There we go."

Flora watched as Tak stepped through the portal.

"It takes powerful juju to even start the gate let alone be able to focus it."

She flew through the portal and both were in Tak's Village.

Tak landed on his feet at first before falling near the gate.

"Ok, I'm not used to that."

He said getting up.

"Warping from one place to another takes practice even with the gate."

Flora said, flying near him.

"I know where we can find another plant to acquire, follow me."

Tak nodded and proceeded to follow Flora.

They passed the path they took to get to the Burial Grounds.

Tak went down a path, passed a large tree trunk, pole vaulting up a ledge and going up a spiral path reaching an elevator.

"I didn't know if you knew this but that elevator takes you to Tree Village."

Flora said, returning to her humanoid form and landing next to Tak as the elevator started up.

"I knew about the Tree Village, I didn't know there was a way up nearby."

"Your village has several methods at getting around the island, there's some you haven't seen yet."

"Well, hopefully I can see them soon."

Tak had a small smile.

"So what do you know about Tree village?"

"Well it's a village made entirely from tall trees, there's the lower part of the village where we're heading towards now and the upper part which has a way to the mountain tops."

She smiles.

"There's only a couple animals there, sheep and orangutans."

"Wait sheep?"

Tak asked with a confused look.

"Yeah, see they decided to use sheep machines in order to make doors and lifts like this function."

She tapped on the elevator with her foot as they arrived at the village.

They exited the room the elevator stopped in.

Tak saw a lot of sheep in the distance.

"Well you weren't kidding."

"No no no."

Flora said before flying around a short distance before returning to where Tak.

"They've been turned into sheep, it's so sad, these people are so peaceful nothing bad should ever happen to them."

She landed on her feet in front of Tak.

"Then the sooner we get that plant the better."

He placed his hand on her shoulder.

She turned to him.

"It'll be ok."

Flora shook her head a couple times.

"Right, we still have three more plants to find."

She returned to her travel form.

"Follow me."

He followed Flora onto a patch of plants.

At the center was an orangutan pulling a tree down to get bananas, letting the tree go and eating the banana, and repeating.

"Tak we need to get up to that building over there."

Flora said while flying towards a building that was quite far and high above him.

"I have an idea."

He said as the orangutan pulled the tree down.

Tak stood on the big leaf of the tree and the moment it let go.

He went flying, landing on a patch of plant and at the entrance of the building.

"Not a bad idea, maybe after all this is over you can show your tribe the wonders of tree travel."

Flora said with a small laugh.

Tak got up slowly.

"Don't think we have nearly enough bananas for something like that."

He chuckled.

The large door in front of them was closed.

"So how does this work?"

"Normally there's a sheep to run on the motor allowing the door to go up. Guess it ran off."

Tak saw the treadmill like contraption and got on it and started running.

After a good few seconds the door began to rise, getting to the top in a minute.

Tak quickly ran into the building before the door could close.

This room had several platforms including a sheep on top.

There was also a tree with a monkey at the center of the room.

Tak jumped across the platforms to reach the highest point.

He looked around noticing the door was closed with the sheep on a treadmill at the top.

"I don't think I can pole vault across to that sheep."

He looks down.

"Also probably won't land without taking damage."

Flora landed next to him in her humanoid form.

"I might be able to help with this."

She said as she began channeling her juju magic.

In her hands appeared a small bag.

"This is a bag of everlasting acorns."

She handed it to Tak who took it in his hands.

Flora fell onto her knee.

"Whoa are you ok?"

He helps her stand.

Flora held her head.

"Yeah I'm ok,the current condition of the Juju Realm has weakened my magic a bit."

She transformed into her travel form.

"You should be able to use those acorns with your staff as a blow gun."

Tak looked at the sheep above, placing one acorn in the staff.

He aimed carefully and after taking a deep breath and blew air into the staff.

The acorn went straight for the sheep above the door.

The sheep screamed a bit and started running on the treadmill causing the door to open.

"Hurry Tak! I don't know how long the sheep will run for!"

Tak didn't need to be told twice as he jumped down the platforms quickly, noticing the sheep was starting to slow down.

He started running and right before the door slammed down, Tak rolled out of the room.

"Phew,made i-"

Tak was cut off by a Nerbal jumping at him.

He quickly smacked the Nerbal off the edge with his staff.

Tak looked at where the Nerbal came from and saw a strange small BeeHive like structure.

"That's a Nerbal Nest, smash it Tak or you'll be fighting Nerbals all day"

Flora warned him.

Tak didn't hesitate to load several acorns into his staff, firing them directly at the nest.

Several new holes were formed and the nest began to fall.

Another Nerbal began to exit the nest as it collapsed only to collapse as well.

Tak put the staff on his back and used an orangutan to launch himself to a different tree, continuing down the path ahead.

He stopped when the path was split, left and right.

"Flora, do you know which way the plant is?"

She returned to her humanoid form and placed her hand on the ground.

Her eyes glowed purple for a second.

"To the right."

She returned to her travel form as Tak walked down the right path, crossing a bridge and beginning to go up a tree.

When the path ended he saw a zipline.

"I can see why you like this place with all the ways to get from tree to tree."

Tak said as he took the zipline to the next tree,as well as going up a wooden bridge.

He then immediately hid behind most of the big tree.

Flora floated near him wondering why he suddenly hid.

She saw something that made her gasp and hid with Tak, going into her humanoid form to avoid the light from her other form detected.

Two Nerbal Nests were in pieces and Tlalok was standing in the wreckage.

"Hmm, these experiments are going well."

He held his hand up as Dark Juju began draining from the remains.

Tlalok turned his head and noticed a lot of leaves on the bridge from when Flora was in her travel form.

He walked on the ground getting closer to the two.

They covered their mouths with their hands,as well as held their breath to avoid making a sound.

Before Tlalok saw them he turned away.

"I don't have time for this."

He turned away and vanished.

The two fell onto the bridge breathing heavily

"Such Dark Juju."

Flora said while a bit rattled by Tlalok's presence.

"What is he even doing here?"

Tak questioned.

"The Nerbals are made of Dark Juju but not a lot of it, Tlalok must be trying to make them stronger, make them unstoppable."

Flora said with worry in her voice.

Tak stood up.

"We need to hurry then."

He held his hand out to Flora and she took it allowing him to pull her up.

"The Numa Plant is up ahead."

She returned to her travel form and Tak walked a little more and saw the plant on a higher platform with a convenient orangutan nearby.

But it was currently focused on a tree not facing the plant.

Tak looked around and saw a melon plant nearby.

He picks up one of the melons and jumps down near the orangutan.

"Hey you big ape you want this?"

Tak shouted, getting the orangutan's attention.

It began to follow Tak who quickly dropped the melon and pole vaulted up and away from the orangutan.

It ate the melon and already began to pull down the tree for the bananas.

Tak didn't waste a second and jumped onto the leaf and was launched to the platform next to the plant.

He was about to approach the plant but before he got close he stepped back a bit and shot an acorn directly at it.

The plant moved around and screamed a bit.

"You're not going to fool me this time."

Tak ran towards the plant.

Suddenly the plant threw a large seed that exploded in front of Tak.

"Ok that's new!"

Tak shouted in shock as he began to duck and dodge the exploding seeds.

After a couple more seeds were thrown the plant began to taunt him.

Tak noticed this and loaded an acorn.

He kept his eye on the plant and the moment it opened its mouth he shot the acorn directly into its mouth.

The plant screams and starts to choke.

While it was stunned Tak ran to the plant and smacked its head hard with his staff.

The plant fell to the ground leaving its mouth open for Tak to retrieve the small plant.

"And that makes two."

Tak said as he retrieved the small plant.

"And still no answers to why the plants act like this"

Flora said as she examined the Nuba Plant in her humanoid form.

"It's clear Tlalok is involved but the question is why."

"Either way we need to focus on getting the last plants."

Flora got up, nodding and returning to her travel form.

"The zipline up ahead will take you back to the elevator,it's the fastest way back to the village."

Tak nods and sees the zipline.

He went down it and after moving a nearby sheep to a nearby motor the door in front of him opened leading him back to the elevator.

Flora followed the elevator down and the two were back in Tak's village.

"Well we still need to get more plants, we havent explored the other side of the island yet,we should head there next."

She flew in a direction.

Tak followed using a nearby zipline.

"These really are the best way to travel"

Tak said before landing near a hut and jumping down to the ground.

Flora led him to a fork in the road.

"This leads to Dryrock Canyon and Chicken Island. They should have the last plants we need. Where do you want to try first?"

Flora asked.

Tak looked towards the left and then to the right.

"Let's go to Chicken Island first."

"Alright then follow me."

Flora flew to the right and Tak followed.

He walked down the path and jumped across some wooden platforms hanging from vines before reaching solid ground.

"Hm?"

Tak saw a blimp in the shape of a chicken.

"Why do I have a feeling we're heading for that?"

"Maybe it's the chicken shaped blimp?"

Flora responded to him.

"It does make sense."

Tak climbed up the hill leading to the blimp and jumped on it, pulling a lever causing the blimp to move.

"So what can you tell me about Chicken Island?"

Tak asked as Flora transformed into her humanoid form.

"Chicken Island is home to a people that worship chickens,Mm-hmm They do. It's really made up of many little area's filled with air and water geysers."

"So it's more like Chicken Islands?"

"Kinda"

She said as they landed.

"That being said, the people here aren't exactly friendly to those that aren't native to their islands."

Tak looked around, there was more sun so the area was brighter. Several beaches were at the edges of the island as well as several people patrolling different archways.

"I'm guessing the plant is behind one of them."

Flora felt the ground next to them.

"Yes but luckily there appears to be a path."

She points at a few wooden platforms attached to the landmass.

Flora switched to her travel form and flew towards said platforms.

Tak followed her and the path led him to a wooden circle that led to several paths across four different sides.

"The plant is down this path."

Flora said, flying towards a path with an archway.

Tak followed and saw yellow Nerbal in front of him.

"Ok that's new."

The Nerbal ran at Tak.

He smacked it with his club and it was barely affected by it.

It scratched Tak's arm as he switched to his staff and rapidly hit the Nerbal, smacking it into the nearby geyser destroying it.

"Flora,I think they're getting stronger."

Tak checked the scratch on his arm, luckily it wasn't bleeding.

"Which just means we have to hurry."

Flora said, flying to the right of where he was.

"The plant is on that island over there, I think you know how you can get across."

She said jokingly.

There were multiple tall platforms and a convenient orangutan and banana tree nearby.

"I'm kinda getting used to this."

Tak jumped onto the leaf when the tree was pulled down and was sent flying to the tallest platform.

He picked himself up,brushing some grass off his body.

"Really glad this keeps cushioning my fall."

Tak jumped down the platforms in front of him, hitting two yellow Nerbals into the water before they saw him.

He saw a small hut and one of the Chicken Villagers patrolling around said small hut.

Tak ran quickly when the villager was on one side of the hut, running up the path leading to the top of the land mass, smacking another two yellow Nerbals into the water below.

"Luckily Nerbals seem to share the same weakness."

Flora said as she flew up.

"Yeah…lucky."

Tak was breathing heavily.

While he hasn't slowed down yet, the adventure so far was clearly taking a toll and his exhaustion was starting to show.

He continued up the path and saw the plant at the center of small flat land.

"Not a lot of room to work with."

Tak said while loading an acorn into his staff.

He shot it at the plant.

It screamed immediately, throwing its seed bomb at Tak.

He dodged it and ran to the plant.

Before he got close he saw something on the ground coming from the plant.

Vines had extended from the plant and right before he got close enough to smack it.

Tak nearly fell into the water below but grabbed the ledge.

He looked up at the plant.

Vines were still spinning around it still as it was laughing.

Tak pulled himself up and ran at the plant.

It swung its vines and threw seeds at Tak.

He pulled the staff out and pole vaulted above the plant.

Suddenly he began spinning.

He slammed the staff directly onto the head of the plant, slamming it into the ground hard with a splat.

Tak was breathing heavily again as he sat on the ground in front of the now dead plant.

Flora flew down next to Tak returning to her humanoid form.

She held her hand out to him.

"You ok?"

"Yeah..just need a moment."

He took her hand and she helped him to his feet.

Tak went to the plant's remains and acquired the small plant they needed.

"Next is Dryrock Canyon right?"

Tak said as he began to walk down the path he went up and Flora returned to her travel form.

With the help of another orangutan he returned to the main Chicken Island.

He backtracked to the blimp and sat down after pulling the lever, taking this time to rest after the last three areas.

The blimp landed not long afterwards.

"How far is Dryrock Canyon?"

Tak asked Flora who began to fly ahead of him.

"There's a transport that'll take you there,follow me."

Taking a nearby zipline to catch up to Flora.

He continued following her down a path into a ravine.

"The Tram up ahead will take you to the canyon."

Tak saw the Tram and walked over to it.

Pulling another lever and sitting on the tram, trying to get as much rest as he could.

Flora sat next to him after transforming.

"I have a feeling I'm going to regret asking this but I have to know what's Dryrock Canyon like?"

" is not a friendly place. The rams are grumpy, the cacti explode and all the people left a long time 'll be best if we don't spend more time here then we need to."

"I was afraid you were going to say that."

The tram was about to arrive into the canyon.

Tak stepped off the tram and looked around at the desert like canyon, very few plant life, large walls of rock and dirt,Nerbals were everywhere and there was an aura of Dark Juju emitting from the area.

"Flora, i know i'm just a Shaman in training but even i feel that."

Tak took a couple steps back.

Flora was shaking a little.

"We need to hurry."

She transformed and flew in front of Tak.

Tak followed.

He pole vaulted up to a platform.

A ram noticed him but before it could hit him he pole vaulted up once again.

Two purple Nerbals jumped at him.

He quickly ducked and continued running down the path that Flora was going down.

Almost running into some exploding cactus in front of him.

He finished crossing the path and stopped when he entered a bit opening in the cavern

There was even a Juju shrine and a giant door.

He shook his head.

"Now's not the time to focus on those things, I have to get that last plant."

He thought to himself.

"Tak i see the plant."

She transformed and pointed to their right, the wall had platforms he could jump across as well as half a dozen Nerbals in the way with exploding cacti on each platform.

Tak began running, smacking one Nerbal into an exploding cactus, jumping to the next one while it explodes, smacking the second one to the bottom of the cavern as he ducked to dodge the third, he jumped to the next platform smacking the fourth till it was destroyed, the fifth jumping at him as Tak jumped to the next leaving it with an exploding cactus.

Tak turned and looked at the last Nerbal that was getting ready to jump at him.

Only for a Ram to hit the Nerbal into a wall.

Tak shrugged and jumped down, the plant was in sight.

He jumped across and reached the plant.

"The last plant finally."

Tak didn't hesitate and shot at the plant.

It screamed and began throwing seeds at Tak.

He dodged them and noticed the plant began spinning its vines around it to protect itself.

Tak pole vaulted above the plant and attempted to spin attack again like with the last plant.

Flora noticed the plant's movements began to shift.

"Tak wait!"

She shouted

But it was too late.

The vine wrapped around Tak's leg and pulled Tak towards the plant in a swift motion.

This caused Tak to drop his staff so he quickly pulled out his club but before he could attack the plant chomped on Tak's shoulder.

A bit of blood dripped down his arm.

"Urgg."

Flora wanted to help but as the Juju of nature even if the plants are corrupted by Dark Juju she's forbidden to fight them.

Tak glared at the plant, and suddenly his club glowed with purple and yellow energy.

"Get off me!"

He shouted before smacking the plant hard.

The club snapped in half as the plant released its chomp on Tak making him fall to the ground.

He took the last plant they needed.

"And…that…makes…four."

He held his shoulder in pain.

Flora went to Tak in her humanoid form.

"Do you know what you just did?"

"I broke my club."

Tak picked up his staff.

"I'll need a new weapon when I give this to Lok."

Flora shook her head.

'He's awakening to his Juju powers.'

She thought.

"Urg."

Tak groaned in pain as he fell to his knees.

Flora went in front of him and moved his arm off his wound.

There was purple ooze leaking from the wound.

"You're poisoned."

Flora put Tak on her back.

"I can help you but we need to get back to your village."

Flora struggled but was able to float enough to get to another safe platform.

She kept jumping and floating back towards the tram.

Flora nearly screamed when an exploding cactus almost hit her.

She and Tak tumbled onto the tram and she pulled the lever.

"Stay with me Tak,we're almost there."

Flora looked at Dryrock Canyon getting smaller as they were getting farther.

"I really hate this place."

She said leaning against the tram.

While this was happening…

Fauna was keeping the now sheep Pupununu people all together safely.

"Ugg why do i always get the crummy jobs while Flora gets to go all over the land with that apprentice?"

She floated above all the sheep unaware of someone walking into the village.

What neither Fauna nor the person entering the village was aware of was Tlalok was watching everything from high above the Pupununu village.

"I must take no chances for my plan to succeed."

He raised his hand up and slammed it back down.

A ball of Dark Juju landed near the sheep, scaring them.

They immediately ran past Fauna.

"Oh cmon i just herded those sheep."

"Halt you sheep in the name of-"

A voice said before being cut off.

AN:Ok so yeah,it's been a while but i wanted my rewrite of this story to be better made and i wanted to finish the plants all in one go. This essentially was what I would normally split five chapters into one something I will not be doing when it comes to the rest of the game. I will say here's the plan going will be one chapter to set up the next part of the game, one chapter per area of exploration for said second part of the game, one chapter for each moonstone temple and one last chapter to wrap up the first game. As of right now that's about anywhere between nine and ten chapters that will be much shorter than this and will hopefully be worked on soon. I'm definitely taking a smaller break after this but since I have less to work on with each chapter I will be trying to schedule these out for at least once a month.

All my other works are updated in my profile including this one. Until next time.
