Several years had passed since Ash embarked on his relentless mission to hunt down the Avatar. As time wore on, he grappled with the weight of his task and the growing distance from his Fire Nation family—Zuko and Azula. Despite his desire to stay connected, the demands of his quest often left him isolated and unable to reach out.

In quiet moments, Ash would reminisce about sparring with Zuko in the courtyard or teasing Azula about her ambitious nature. Yet those memories felt distant now, obscured by the singular pursuit of the Avatar. Amidst the vast and changing landscapes of the world, Ash occasionally stumbled upon rumors and hints about the Avatar's whereabouts. Each lead ignited a renewed sense of purpose, propelling him forward despite the uncertainty of the chase.

One evening, as Ash rested by a crackling campfire under a starlit sky, he was interrupted by an unexpected visitor—a laid-back nomad named Chong and his entourage. "Hey there, blue eyes. What's got you out here?" Chong asked in his relaxed tone.

"Your eyes really shine at night, you know?" added one of the women in Chong's group.

"Thanks," Ash replied dryly, shooting them a glare. "Now, please leave me in peace. I'm trying to enjoy a quiet night."

"Whoa, take it easy, my friend," Chong said, strumming his instrument. "We're just your typical nomads. Reminds me of the little nomad we met not too long ago."

"A little nomad?" Ash's interest was piqued.

"Yeah, it was..." Chong paused, struggling to recall. Ash's impatience grew.

"Who was it?" Ash demanded, his patience wearing thin.

"Relax, no need to shout," chuckled the nomad, earning a groan from Ash.

"If you can't remember, then stop wasting my time," Ash retorted sharply.

"Oh, now I remember! It was the Avatar," Chong exclaimed casually.

"What?!" Ash shot up, glaring at Chong. "Where?!" he demanded.

"His group was heading towards the Earth Kingdom," Chong informed.

Hearing this crucial information, Ash swiftly gathered his belongings and prepared to depart for the Earth Kingdom. "Hey! Where are you off to, my man?" Chong called after him, puzzled.

Ash glanced back at the nomads. "I'm going to the Earth Kingdom... to hunt down the Avatar!" he declared with determination.

"Cool... good luck!" Chong replied cluelessly.

"Uh, thanks?" Ash replied, already focused on his next move, leaving the nomads behind in the flickering firelight.

A few days later, Ash arrived in the Earth Kingdom, feeling immensely frustrated that the trail of the Avatar had gone cold. The group had long departed, leaving him empty-handed and seething with disappointment. "Those weirdoes should've told me sooner..." Ash groaned, sitting at a table near a food stand in the bustling Earth Kingdom marketplace. He rubbed his face in frustration, unable to believe that his one opportunity to confront and defeat the Avatar, bringing him back to the Fire Nation, had slipped through his fingers.

Sitting amidst the lively crowd, Ash stewed in his vexation, contemplating his next move. He knew he couldn't afford to dwell on this setback for long. Clenching his fists, he resolved to resume his search with even greater determination. The Avatar wouldn't elude him forever.

As Ash discreetly followed Xin Fu and Yu through the area, he strained to catch every word of their conversation. The mention of the Blind Bandit and her companions—the very ones traveling with the Avatar—sent a surge of excitement through Ash's veins.

Keeping a safe distance, Ash shadowed the duo as they continued their heated discussion.

"Can you believe it, Xin Fu? How could we let them slip through our fingers again?" Yu exclaimed, his frustration evident in his voice.

Xin Fu grunted in response, his expression darkening with annoyance. "It's that Blind Bandit and her tricks. She's slippery, that one."

Ash's ears perked up at the mention of the Blind Bandit. Could she be the Earthbender traveling with the Avatar?

"You know what's worse?" Yu continued, his voice tinged with bitterness. "Her father is the one pulling the strings. He wants them caught for some reason."

Xin Fu scowled, his eyes narrowing in thought. "Well, we can't let them get too far. We'll have to regroup and come up with a new plan."

Ash seized the opportunity, inching closer to eavesdrop on their conversation without being noticed.

"Where are they headed now?" Xin Fu asked, his tone gruff.

Yu shrugged. "Last I heard, they were heading towards the mountains for the Avatar to train and learn Earthbending."

"That's just great..." Xin Fu groaned.

How else will their luck get worse?

"Excuse me." Both men halted their pace and glanced back when they noticed Ash standing behind them. "Tell me more about the Avatar and his little friends." They exchanged confused glances before staring back at him.

Xin Fu with a scowl retorted. "Why should we, runt?"

A smirk slowly worked its way to Ash's lips as his blue eyes flashed dangerously at the two Earthbenders. "Very well, hard way it is then."

Xin Fu's scowl deepened at Ash's confident smirk, his stance defensive. "You think you can threaten us, kid? You're outnumbered."

Yu crossed his arms, eyeing Ash warily. "Who are you, anyway? What do you want with the Avatar?"

Ash's smirk widened, his voice low and measured. "I want information. And I suggest you start talking."

Xin Fu's gaze narrowed, his expression hardening. "We don't owe you anything, boy. Now get lost before we make you."

Ash's calm demeanor never wavered as he took a step forward, the air thick with tension. "I'm not leaving until I get what I came for."

Yu exchanged a glance with Xin Fu, a flicker of uncertainty passing between them. Ash's confidence was unnerving, and they could sense the determination radiating from him.

"We're not afraid of you, kid," Xin Fu growled, his fists clenching at his sides.

Ash's smirk turned into a knowing grin. "You should be."

Without warning, Ash moved with lightning speed, his movements fluid and precise. He dodged Xin Fu's attempt to grab him and countered with a swift strike, catching the Earthbender off guard.

Yu lunged forward, but Ash was already one step ahead. He sidestepped and delivered a calculated blow, sending Yu stumbling backward.

The scuffle drew the attention of nearby onlookers, their murmurs of surprise filling the air.

Xin Fu and Yu exchanged a wary glance, their confidence waning in the face of Ash's unexpected skill.

"You're more than just a traveler, aren't you?" Xin Fu muttered, his eyes narrowing.

Ash's grin widened, his blue eyes alight with determination. "Now, are you going to tell me what I want to know?"

The Earthbenders hesitated, weighing their options. Ash's display of prowess had shifted the balance of power, and they knew they were at a disadvantage.

"Fine," Xin Fu relented begrudgingly. "The Avatar and his friends are heading towards a remote mountain range in the Earth Kingdom. They're seeking an Earthbending master to train them."

With Team Avatar—Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Toph—relaxing near a mountain riverbed in a secluded area for Aang's Earthbending training, tensions rose as Toph lounged around, refusing to teach Aang. Despite Aang's pleading and the attempts of Katara and Sokka to intervene, Toph remained steadfast in her decision, much to everyone's frustration.

Their leisurely day took an unexpected turn when Ash's voice cut through the banter, catching the group off guard and causing them to tense up. "I finally found you at last, Avatar!" Ash declared confidently.

Sokka stepped forward, demanding answers. "Who are you? And what do you want?"

Toph interjected with a teasing tone, "And why do you sound so cute?" Her comment drew amused looks from the group, though Ash remained focused.

Ignoring Toph's remark, Ash smirked and replied, "It's not really your business, but I'm here to defeat the Avatar and take him back to my Fire Lord!"

Team Avatar gasped collectively upon learning Ash's motivation. "Fire Nation?!" Aang exclaimed, visibly shocked.

Aang's next question caught Ash off guard. "Does that mean you know Zuko?" Aang asked in disbelief.

Ash's expression tightened imperceptibly at the mention of his brother's name. It was one thing to hear it casually mentioned, but the fact that the Avatar knew Zuko's name was unexpected and puzzling. "Why do you know about Zuko?" Ash asked, his tone guarded yet curious.

Before anyone could respond to Ash's question or the tense atmosphere that had settled, a familiar voice suddenly spoke up. "Ash... is that you?"
