"Ahhahaha! I am here!" A young child cries out as he and his friends run around the playground.
So, you may be wondering what's going on. Well, it's simple. I'm procrastinating. My Sloth curse makes me lazy so despite knowing I should train, I don't feel like doing it right now. Back to the children, I watch them run from behind a tree but make no move to join. This is for multiple reasons. One: I was much older than them, mentally at least, so I would feel awkward. Secondly, one of the kids had tree trunks for legs. That was mostly what was turning me away from interacting with them. I mean, what the hell?
A boom from the other playground in the park forces my attention away though. "Was that a bomb?" I mutter in shock before rushing over as fast as my stubby kid legs could carry me. God, I need to get more into exercising. When I arrived at the other park, I saw a group of kids. One on the ground with a green-haired kid between the fallen one and a trio of what I assume are bullies. Once again there's an oddity because one of the kids has wings. I then hear the green-haired kid speak.
"That's mean, Kacchan." He says, his tears evident in his voice even though I couldn't see them. "Can't you see he's crying?" He then moves into a fighting stance, trembling all over as the blond kid and his friends look at him. My focus is returned to the green kid as he yells something. The group then grins as the blond's lackeys move. The one with a hat's fingers grow super long and the one with wings starts flying. The sandy playground then lights up as the blond's hands explode as he punches his palm.
As the trio charges the green kid, my mind races. "Are you kidding? My Hero Academia? Seriously?!" I think while the kid I now know as Midoriya gets beaten up. "I barely know the show! I saw like, two seasons of it." I grouse as I bang my head on the tree I'm hiding behind. I knew it got super crazy though. While I only watched a couple of seasons of it, I knew from the internet that season 7 was on the way and it got insane. However, my attention was pulled from my thoughts when a screen appeared.
Congratulations! You have found out what world you have been reincarnated into!
You have earned a new roll!
Would you like to use it?
Y/N
With a bit of a hoarse throat, I Accept the roll, now very worried that the system was confirming my thoughts.
Congratulations! You have rolled a 3!
You have received a .44 Magnum revolver!
And so with that, I go off to the heavily beaten child of a protagonist with a gun strapped to my thigh and raggedy clothes on my back.
"You ok?" I ask as I poke him with my foot, gaining a groan of pain from the broccoli boy. "Oi, I'll just leave if you won't answer me." I say with a harsh tone. The two of us remain in silence for a few moments and I start to leave before he speaks.
"W-Who are you?" He asked hoarsly, as if just realizing I was there. I looked back at him and saw he had turned his head to look at me while he winced lightly at the pain from his beating.
"I'm…Who are you?" I ask, quickly changing the subject after a pause. I can't remember my name. Why can't I remember my name?
"I-I'm Izuku Midoriya" He says, still laying on the ground. I sigh and grab his arm before pulling him up. "Don't just lay there, ok?" I say with a slightly heated tone, making him flinch slightly. "Sorry." He mutters while looking down at his feet.
Damn it, now I feel bad. "It's fine." I say with a huff while looking away. Unfortunately, this left us in an awkward silence. "You can call me Jason." I say after a few moments, turning back to face the young protagonist. This makes Izuku look up at me with a smile so bright one would think this kid's hopefulness was a quirk.
After that, the two of us hung out for a bit with me showing off my 'quirk' to Izuku after some prodding. Turns out fire bending is easy to do if you know how it works. I breathe in, focus on my body, and push. Like I said, easy but very weird. I find it easier to breathe fire than shoot it though. Using imagery of a dragon or Iroh simplifies the process so much that I would praise any god there is for it.
"So, what's your quirk?" I ask, inwardly cringing as I notice how Izuku's eyes dim a bit at the reminder.
"I-I, uh, don't have a quirk." He says quietly while looking away, probably waiting for the usual belittling he gets for this. Poor kid.
"Ah, sorry to hear that." I say as I scratch my neck awkwardly. "You've seen a doctor about it?" I ask, already knowing the answer.
"Y-Yeah. I have the extra joint to prove it." He says softly. I turn back to properly look at him before I sigh and put a hand on his head. "Don't worry about that Midoriya." I tell him with confidence in my young voice. "I'm sure you can do anything people with quirks can."
My words have Izuku looking up at me, his green gaze meeting my amber as I look back at him with confidence oozing from me. "So don't worry too much. After all, I'll be here to keep you from breaking anything else." I say with a laugh before stopping as a new screen pops up before me.
NOTICE!
You have integrated yourself into the plot!
Even if you have no further interaction, you have now changed [Midoriya Izuku]'s path.
You have gained both a new roll as well as integration into this world!
Integration: Quirk
Accept?
Y/N
I blink as I read the notice before my eyes widen at the implications. Changing the path of a character? That means I can affect how the future ends for them. That's scary. If I make a big change then I could throw things way out of whack and ruin my knowledge of the future, what little of it I have. I shake my head before accepting.
Congratulations! You have rolled a 15!
You have received your own personal lightsaber!
Return to your home to customize and receive!
"Dope." I think before I accept my quirk. I then turn to Izuku as the sun begins to set. "Hey, do you need help getting home?" I ask him. In response, I get a shake of his head. "I'm fine." He says. "Bye!" He calls out as he leaves, waving back at me. As I watch him leave, a screen pops up with my quirk.
Congratulations!
You have received your [Quirk] integration!
Your new [Quirk] is:
Night Vision!
I blink at the screen before wincing in pain as I feel my eyes ache from the change. "Fuck!" I yelp as I bring my hands up to my face, my eyes squeezed shut as they start to burn. I sit there on the ground for a few minutes before the pain recedes. Panting, I don't move until I'm certain it's done. With some hesitance, I open my eyes and look around.
It doesn't look that different but I soon notice that the shadows of the trees, buildings, and every little crevice aren't all that there for me. I mean, I can still see them but it's more like I'm wearing shades when looking there instead of it being dark corners and shade.
I take a breath and sigh. "Damn gacha bullshit." I mutter before standing up and going back to my junkyard bus. There, I see a screen hovering above a holographic table. "Must be my lightsaber thing." I say as I approach it.
Once in front of it, the screen shows options for the customization. "Well damn." I say as I see the large amount of freedom given for the customization. With that, I get to work making it. By the end, my lightsaber was thin with mainly black coating and sharp purple highlights with a curved end, like Asokha's or Count Dooku's. The blade was the usual single with the coloration being a menacing red.
Now usually someone wants to look like a Jedi if they're going for a hero path with a lightsaber. Me? I know what I'm going to use this for. This is a weapon of death. If I bring this out, people will die so make no mistake, I chose the Sith red for a good reason.
When I was done with my customization there was a bright golden flash that forced me to look away. When it's gone I look back and see my lightsaber on a box with a belt hook next to it, allowing for convenient carry. I pick it up to get a feel for it before igniting it. A hum fills the bus as the blade bathes it in a red light. "Thus, I have my first MacGuffin." I say to myself before I shut it off and place it back on the box. I let out a yawn and looked outside. Once again, it was like I was wearing shades instead of the night being pitch black.
Hello! Thank you all for reading my fic. I didn't expect people to find it already but here we are I guess. Feel free to recommend items to add to the gacha in the reviews and I will look through for ones that fit. Stay safe out there!
I shake my head before walking toward the ratty mattress and lying down on it. "Tomorrow is a new day." I tell myself before closing my eyes and drifting off to sleep.
