Side note: I should have said this earlier but if you haven't watched the episode this is based on or don't remember a lot of it I'd suggest going for a rewatch before reading this. It might be a little confusing to read without that context :)

Cleo and Lewis rushed into the cafe, finding Emma and Rikki already there, desperately trying to contain the potion. Emma attempted to freeze sections of it to slow it down but this only made things worse.

"It's not working!" she said to Rikki after another failed attempt of making it stop.

"Thank goodness you're here," Emma said when she spotted Cleo and Lewis, her voice strained. "This stuff is out of control."

Lewis set the mythology book he brought with him down on a nearby table and quickly started flipping through the pages, searching for answers. "What happened? How did it start growing like this? It's only meant to do that if it's heated up."

Rikki bit her lip, looking guilty. "Yesterday, after we tested the potion, I might have heated it up a little with my powers. I didn't expect it to react like this."

Lewis nodded, eyes scanning the text. "That explains it. The potion's properties must have been altered by the heat, causing it to become unstable and expand."

He found the relevant passage and read aloud, "Heating the potion without proper containment can cause it to grow exponentially."

Lewis grabbed the container of potion Cleo had taken home. "Emma, we need to make another wish to counteract this. We'll have to wish the growing potion away."

Meanwhile, Rikki dragged Cleo outside to watch for any customers of the cafe or anyone else trying to come in and see what they're doing. Cleo's heart started to race. She had seen Emma trying to freeze the potion with her powers and was shocked.

"Rikki, what's happening? Why can Emma do that?" she asked, her voice trembling.

Rikki placed a reassuring hand on Cleo's shoulder. "It's okay, Cleo. You have powers too. We're mermaids, and we can control water, heat, and cold. Right now, we need to focus on stopping this potion."

Cleo took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. "Just tell me what to do."

Rikki smiled softly. "For now, just help me keep people away from the cafe. We need to buy Lewis and Emma some time."

Cleo tried to maintain her composure, but the sight of the growing potion inside made her increasingly anxious.

Inside, Lewis and Emma stood by the expanding potion. Lewis' mind raced as he considered their options. "Emma, I have a theory. The potion might only work when you're in mermaid form. Cleo used it in the bath, and it seemed to work then."

Emma nodded, understanding his logic. "Alright, let's try this."

Lewis grabbed a bottle of water and handed it to Emma. "Here, we need you to transform."

Emma took the bottle and poured some water over her arm. Instantly, her legs transformed into a shimmering mermaid tail. Lewis then dipped his fingers into the potion container and gently applied what was left of it to Emma's face. He was worried it might not be enough after Cleo had used most of it.

"Okay," Lewis said, his voice steady. "Now, focus on the wish."

Lewis closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. "I wish for the growing potion to stop and disappear."

As he spoke, the potion in the cafe began to glow brightly. The glow intensified, filling the room with a radiant light. Emma and Lewis watched in awe as the potion started to shrink, retracting into itself. The glowing substance gradually vanished, leaving no trace of the chaos it had caused.

When the light faded, the cafe was clean again. Lewis quickly helped Emma dry off and Emma's tail returned to legs. Relief washing over both of them. "It worked."

Lewis let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding. "We did it."

Cleo and Rikki peeked inside, seeing that the potion was gone. Cleo felt a wave of relief but also a sense of confusion. "Is it over?" she asked.

Lewis nodded. "Yeah, it's over. We managed to stop it."

Cleo walked around the cafe, still feeling unsettled. "I wish I could remember all of this. It feels like I'm missing a big part of my life."

Emma hugged her friend. "We'll figure this out, Cleo. We'll find a way to bring your memories back. For now, let's just be glad we stopped the potion."

Just a moment later a customer came through the door with his wallet in his hand. "Hey, is this place open today?" he asked.

"Sure, what can I get you?" Emma replied, trying her best to sound normal.

Emma stayed at the cafe to start her shift and the others left to have a bit of a talk with Cleo. They knew that until they found a way to bring her memories back she needed to understand the basics if they didn't want her transforming out in public or accidentally using her powers on someone.

"We can go to my place to talk," Cleo suggested nervously.

"Don't worry Cleo. We'll try to explain everything to you. You don't have to be scared," Lewis said gently, noticing how anxious she still was.

Cleo just nodded, staying close to him while they made their way towards her home.
