Caitlin stood anxiously watching as more people began to fill the room. As they examined the pieces that were displayed on mannequins, she made her way towards the back, stopping to greet people every so often. She had just reached the back door when she felt someone tap her shoulder.
"John!"
Turning with a smile Caitlin embraced the man in front of her before giving him a sisterly kiss on the cheek. Giving Caitlin a grin John stated,
"You look wonderful Caitlin. I'm so happy for you, this is amazing!"
Twin spots of pink appeared on her cheeks. Gripping his hands she murmured,
"Thank you John. Thank you for being here it-" She paused as a pained look crossed her face, but feeling the extra squeeze he gave her hands she finished her sentence.
"It means a lot."
He leaned over and gave her cheek a peck before Caitlin had to excuse herself. Giving him one more smile, she waved before vanishing backstage.
Straightening the clothes on the model Caitlin smiled at the girl before the lights dimmed. As the girl stepped out from behind the curtain and took off down the small runway, Caitlin crossed her fingers and closed her eyes wishing for luck. Stepping back, she watched on the monitor as each girl walked out one by one. Deciding to step out in the hallway for some air, Caitlin slipped out the side door and walked halfway down the hall. Leaning up against one of the walls, Caitlin took a deep breath. Her nerves had finally calmed. Everything was going perfectly.
He watched her smile to herself. Sherlock stood hidden in the shadows as he watched Caitlin take some, what did she call it? Oh yes. "Me time." She looked stunning. She wore a loose and flowy top over some fitted leggings, small heels on her feet. The small amount of make- up helped enhance her lovely features. As soon as he heard someone call her name he stepped out. Deciding to wait in the main lobby, he hoped he would surprise her, hoping even more that it would be a GOOD surprise.
As soon as Caitlin heard her name called she pushed off the wall and started back to the small backstage area. When coming upon the door that led to the alley she frowned. That wasn't open when she passed by the first timeā¦
Letting out a small yell as she was grabbed from behind Caitlin heard a voice hiss in her ear as her mouth was covered.
"If you make one more sound it will not end well for you or your beloved Sherlock. Do you understand?"
Caitlin nodded her wide eyes frightened. As the abductor dragged her out into the alley, he sneered,
"Sherlock Holmes the great consulting detective. How could you choose him over me?!"
Silencing her frightened whimpering he put a cloth over her face. Caitlin immediately registered the smell of chloroform. As soon as she inhaled she realized her mistake, but it was too late. The last thing she heard before slumping over unconscious was,
"Let's take a little ride and have some fun. Shall we?"
Eyes rolling back, Sherlock's name was the last thing that left her lips.
Frowning as his friend appeared John remarked snidely,
"So you decided to show, did you?"
Not answering with a snarky comment of his own for once Sherlock just gave the other man a sharp look before continuing to wait for Caitlin. Watching as an older man stepped onto the stage and announce Caitlin he and John joined in the applause. When she didn't show, the two looked at each other with slight concern. After the man had said her name once again, John and Sherlock's expressions changed to genuine worry watching as a younger person whispered something in the MC's ear. Putting on a fake smile the man commented,
"Ladies and Gentlemen, it seems Miss O'Connor has stepped away for a moment. I'm sure she'll be right back."
Sherlock felt his heart drop to his stomach. He started to push through the crowd with John close behind. As soon as they walked backstage Sherlock thought he felt his heart stop. Everything was in a state of chaos. A woman sat with a frightened look talking very fast about Caitlin to the concerned onlookers. Rushing forward, Sherlock and John stopped in front of her.
"What happened? Tell me now. NOW!"
Staring at Sherlock in an almost fearful way as he yelled at her, the younger woman was on the brink of tears before John stepped forward. Placing a hand on his friends shoulder John asked the young woman,
"Where is Miss O'Connor?"
"I called her when she was out in the hallway only 15 minutes ago and when I stuck my head back out I saw someone drag her out into the alley. I couldn't see his face, his hood was pulled up. I didn't know what to do!"
Reassuring her, John turned and quickly dialed Lestrade. As he gave a rushed explanation John started glancing worriedly at his friend who sat stone still on the floor nearby.
