Brinjala was now the last surviving member of her squad having just witnessed the death of her squad.
"Onion Brock it's all my fault if you died I chose to come to this cursed planet... I'm sorry" she thought with a sad expression. The two namekians turned their attetion back to the elite saiyan.
"So you monsters have feelings after all" Piccolo said mocking his enemy.
"They were two brave warriors, they had my respect that is why I must avenge them" Brinjala answered as she took a fighting stance.
"Brave warriors? You are nothing but murderers that kill indiscriminately just for the sheer thrill of battle" Kami yelled and charged the elite saiyan, Brinjala felt the strange pain again but this time she beared it and punched the namekian in the stomach, then she head butted him with all the strenght she had. Kami fell on the ground, Brinjala wanted to make sure she had killed him so she tried to blast him but Piccolo stopped her by grabbing both of her hands, but she just blasted the reincarnation of evil with a beam from her mouth. The saiyan then with her hands free again punched the namekian penetrating his stomach, before she could end the life of Piccolo she was hit by the strange pain again, so she let go of the namek who fell down on the ground near his good half.
Meanwhile Mr. Popo had teleported Yamcha to Chi Chi, he found her unconscious on the ground while Gohan was crying near her.
"Gohan don't worry she is alive" Yamcha said putting a hand on the boy's shoulder.
"I know but she nearly died because I distracted her" Gohan answered.
"You were truly brave to come here Gohan, and it's normal for a mother to be worried for her son and you aren't ready yet to be in a real battle" Yamcha said trying to confort the little half saiyan, then he got on his knees and took Chi Chi's bag, inside of it only two senzus remained.
He gave the first one to Chi Chi who regained consciousness and when she opened her eyes she saw her son.
"Mom I'm sorry" Gohan said with tears in his eyes, but Chi Chi simply hugged him.
"It doesn't matter, what matters is that you are fine Gohan". Yamcha watched the scene with a smile but then he looked at his hand.
"who should I give the last one to?" he thought as he looked at the last senzu bean.
Back in the sky the pain had passed away and Brinjala turned her attention to the human who always kept a good distance from the fight.
"He must be the the one with that strange power" Brinjala thought and fired an attack, Chiaotzu tried to tank the attack but was badly injured by it. Tien's friend was nearly out of energy so when the elite came to finish him off the short human put his hands on his forehead "Taiyoken" he yelled, then he fired a dodon ray at her but it was too weak to really damage her.
"You bastard!" she screamed and she started to fire in all directions trying to hit the little human.
Meanwhile Yamcha was trying to feel the others ki, but could only feel faint ki signature from the two namekians while Chiaotzu's ki was nearly vanishing, the ex-bandit then turned to Mr. Popo.
"Kami and Piccolo have been defeated, you must teleport me and Chi Chi to the fight then take Chiaotzu and Gohan with you to the lookout" Yamcha ordered the genie as he took the commanding role for the defence of the Earth. Gohan was sad that even this time he won't be of any use but he still jumped on the magic carpet with the others.
Brinjala was finally able able to see again, so she grinned and put her fingers mimicking a gun and she pointed them at the human who was nearly out of energy, before she could fire she was hit by a kick in the head. Her vision blurred for a second then one of her eye went red because blood had poured on it.
"Yamcha!" Chiaotzu yelled with a big smile on his face, Mr. Popo flew to Tien's friend and disappeared like planned, the two warriors were left alone with the last invader.
"You are gonna pay" Brinjala yelled as she rushed the two humans. The saiyan elite had gotten tired from the previous fight but she was still far stronger than anyone else present there, so the earthlings had to stay on the defence, any mistake would have been fatal.
"The woman, I must not let her heal the nameks if they are still alive" the saiyan thought as she punched Yamcha away from the fight.
"You must be Kakarot's woman, so he chose a warrior as his bride" she said with a smirk. The two women then began to clash in the sky, they created massive shock waves as they hit each other, but Chi Chi was completely outclassed by the superior strenght and speed of Brinjala. The elite then in an instant flew above Chi Chi put her hands together and hit her on the head, Goku's wife flew down crushing on the ground creating a massive crater.
"She is a monster I just ate a senzu but I still can't compare to her" the daughter of the Ox king thought as she got on one knee trying to get back up, the saiyan was already flying over her with grin on her face.
"I was expecting your husband to show up but it seems he is a coward" Brinjala said mocking Chi Chi who began enraged, but before the fight could resume Brinjala scouter turned on, before she could even read what her device had dected she was hit in the back by a ball of energy, she turned around and saw Yamcha, but before she could react the same ball hit her on the head, then on her stomach and on her back again. Brinjala was coughing blood when she took the ball with her hands and crushed it badly injuring her hands.
When Brinjala was about to charge the handsome human her scouter sounded again.
"What? A power level over 8000?" Brinjala yelled as she turned around and saw a namekian with two fingers on his forehead.
"How is still possible I always kept a close eye on the woman!" she screamed in shock.
"You chose to heal Piccolo instead of Kami, have you gone insane?" Chi Chi yelled at Yamcha when she flew up in the sky.
"I did it because he is stronger than Kami and he was in worse condition than him, also with Piccolo dead both Kami the dragon balls would disappear" Goku's friend explained trying to calm down Gohan's mother.
Brinjala rushed the namekian who couldn't but fire the attack even though it wasn't ready yet, Piccolo's spiral attack went in the direction of the elite who tried to dodge but was hit in the side of her chest. The injury was no stratch, but it also wasn't lethal. The three fighters then all rushed the weakened saiyan who couldn't protect against their combined assault.
"No I won't die on this planet" she thought as she grabbed Chi Chi's long hair, she pulled her in front of herself as Piccolo was trying to punch Brinjala but hit Chi Chi instead, she then trow the woman against Yamcha and kicked Piccolo away, but before the fighters could regroup the saiyan flew high up in the sky.
"I know how you people think" she yelled as she prepared to charge an attack.
"She wants to blow up West city" Yamcha screamed.
"And she knows we will try to protect the people" Chi Chi added, the two then flew above the city, they then both put their hands together and charged a kamehameha.
Piccolo pondered at first to not help the humans, but then he realized that they will be needed in the next fight.
"I can't even charge the makankosappo, by the time it's done they would already be dead" he thought, so he begrudgingly decided to help them and he flew besides them and charged a masenko.
Brinjala fired her attack and the warriors of Earth fired theirs, their collective power seemed to match that of the saiyan at first, but then they soon started to falter, they were all weakened by the fight but Brinjala was more experienced than them as she fought on countless campaigns under the saiyan empire. The elite's blast was slowly getting closer and closer to the city and the earthlings were losing hope.
At the same time on the lookout someone was watching the fight, "Mr. Popo please take me there, I must help them" Gohan asked, the genie paused for a second and then did as he was told, the saiyan boy arrived where the beam struggle was taking place, he joined his mother, his mentor and his father's friend and fired his strongest attack.
"Masenko" Gohan yelled, the beam was powerful enough to change the tides and the saiyan was hit by the combined attacks of the earthlings.
The warriors of Earth all fell on the ground tired.
"Gohan you were incredible" Yamcha said congratulating the boy, while Piccolo only smiled at his pupil and Chi Chi was proud of her boy and hugged him once more, she wished he wouldn't fight at all but at this point that was a dream that couldn't come true anytime soon. Piccolo then quicky turned his head around.
"What's wrong Mr. Piccolo?" Gohan asked.
"I heard a strange sound in the distance" he answered and flew in the direction of the noise, the earthlings followed the namekian until they saw a space pod carefully land near Brinjala who was laying on the ground.
"So you are still alive" Piccolo said cracking his knucles, the elite was badly injured and parts of her clothes and her scouter had been vaporized in the final attack.
"heh, in the end you bugs were able to defeat me" she said with a smirk.
"A poor choice of last words" Piccolo said as he raised his hand with the intention to finish off the saiyan, Brinjala simply accepted her fate and closed her eyes. Piccolo charged his attack but a hand grabbed his green arm stopping the namekian.
"This doesn't feel right, she is beaten and can't defend herself" Yamcha said.
"Have you gone mad?" Piccolo and Chi Chi yelled in unison, they then both gave a mean look to each other, for the first time in their lives they were agreeing on something and it felt wrong for both of them.
"It's just... I think we should be better than them, and after all she won't be a threat anymore if we keep training like we are doing" Yamcha answered.
"I agree with mr. Yamcha" Gohan said.
"It's what my dad would have done" he added, this made his mother and his mentor ponder for a moment.
The injured saiyan had opened her eyes and was in disbelief at what she heard.
"A-are you really letting me go?" she asked genuinely confused
"yeah" Yamcha answered.
"Mh well don't worry about me because I won't come back, I still failed and my squad is all dead, they will kick me out of the army because for us saiyans there is only victory or death... and there is only shame in defeat, so it's the same thing if you kill me or spare me" Brinjala explained.
"Your race is so boring all you do is fight and kill and conquer, you don't have anything else you want to do in your life?" Yamcha asked annoyed, but the elite didn't answer she seemed lost in her thoughts.
"Let me give you an advise before I go: leave this planet and forget everything about it. When the queen will come here you won't be able to do anything against her" the saiyan said.
"Why?" Piccolo asked intrigued.
"Because she is far stronger than me, and from what I heard she is bringing with her another saiyan called Gerkin, I barely qualify as an elite saiyan while they are both the elite of the elite, you have no chance at all against them" Brinjala answered.
"Why are you telling us this?" Yamcha asked.
"I-I don't know, maybe it's because I don't like the queen, or maybe... because I owe you one" the saiyan answered honestly.
Brinjala then got in her space pod and started to press some buttons then she turned back to the earhtlings.
"By the way why didn't Kakarot show up" she asked wanting to really know where the brother of Raditz was.
"He is training hard in a place far away from here" Yamcha answered.
"Maybe then... he could be the one to defeat the queen" she said with a smirk looking at Yamcha.
"Are you still sure you don't want to come with me? And this time I'm not asking you to become my slave" the elite asked.
"So you are trying to swetten the deal, but yeah I must turn down the offer" he answered.
"Do you find me really that ugly to still refuse, I am giving you a way to survive" she said, but Yamcha blushed.
"you really don't get it do you? I must stay because I want to help my friends defend the planet, and... I find you cute".
"Yeah I already knew why you didn't want to come, I just wanted to know what you thought of me" she said with a simple smile as the pod closed and flew up in the sky leaving the planet. Yamcha was left completely speechless.
