Summary: Alan finds more than he was bargaining for when looking for a midnight snack.
Pet Food
2081
Alan Tracy was a man with a mission, as he opened the door to the freezer, looking for ice cream to take back to his room where his wife was waiting.
It is a good thing that the walls to the bedrooms on the island had good sound proofing otherwise there would be a lot of traumatised kids and brothers right now, Alan thought to himself as he dug through the freezer.
Alan paused when he noticed a beat up looking container, that he hadn't noticed before, sitting on a shelf.
Curious, Alan pulled the container out of the freezer, and had a look at the contents.
Only to end up throwing the container across the room with a shriek, once he saw the contents of it.
Apparently Alan wasn't the only person awake on the island because Scott was came down the stairs wondering what had startled his brother, "Alan what is it?" He asked.
"Why are there dead rodents being kept in the freezer?" Alan shrieked, as he pointed at the container, his good mood killed.
Alan, like his father, hated rats and was not the biggest fan of mice either, so to find dead ones being kept in the freezer…
Scott groaned, as he walked over to where the container landed, its contents amazingly still inside, "Alan," he grumbled. "Please tell me that you haven't forgotten about the younger boys, new pet."
Alan froze, of course he remembered Monty, the boys pet snake, but what did that have to do…
"You do know what the danger noodle eats," Scott continued, as he picked up the container and secured the lid. "Don't you?"
Alan face palmed, of course the snake would need to eat something, and that something was something he despised, "Of course I do," he growled. "I didn't realise the boys were keeping them in there."
"Where else did you expect them to keep it?" Scott asked, as he pulled out a marker and wrote 'Monty's food' on the lid. "Unless you wanted the boy's to breed them up fresh for him, like the Mealworms for your lizards."
Alan shuddered at the thought, "At least John and Briar are the only ones that have problems with bugs," he commented. "I think more people would have an issue a mouse breeding factory on the island."
Scott gave Alan a thoughtful look and shoved the container into Alan's hands, "True," he agreed. "Put that away, what are you doing downstairs at this hour anyway?"
Alan snorted, as he put the container away and pulled out the tub of ice cream he was after, Once a smother hen, always a smother hen, "I could ask you the same question," he replied. "I came downstairs for a midnight snack for me and the missus, if you want to know," he grabbed a couple of spoons and started to leave the kitchen. "Besides, I'm surprised Pipe hasn't hit you over the head and dragged to bed already considering the time."
"Don't worry Alan," the voice of his sister-in-law sounded from the top of the stairs. "You brother is coming to bed now."
"I've got a couple of things to finish up," Scott replied. "You go on ahead I will be right there."
Piper growled in frustration, and Alan took it as his queue to leave, "Scott Carpenter Tracy," he heard her growl. "You are coming to bed, now."
Alan didn't hear Scott's reply, not that he really wanted to, besides he had his own bed and sexy wife calling him.
And that fact was more important to him at that moment.
Notes: It's amazing how much chaos Monty can cause just by existing ;p
