What is destiny? What is doom? What is fate? Other than a pretty okay PS game, a hack and slash adrenalized experience, and a really complicated anime that will never hear the end of its numerous spin-offs from one mildly agitated anime reviewer, they are predeterminants. Things to gauge the future and what's to come. Tools for beings, such as myself, to take a look forward and attempt to guide the people involved into the best, or in some cases, worst, possible circumstance. There is no bad fate (no pun intended), and there is also no good fate. Most of the time, there are only consequences.
You may already know the stories of those involved. A story of two different girls yet alike. A story of two different worlds, yet alike. Of two different disasters both caused and averted by those that had entered the world, yet alike. It is the same case here, but not the same events. One event in particular brought all of this into a different direction completely. I will not tell you this event. It is not important now. Perhaps at a later time. For now, I will show you what came of this event. For how can we fully appreciate the cause without knowing the effect?
As they stood facing each other, two on one, yet in the latter's favor, a slight breeze swept in, abating the smell.
The blue concrete floor already had dashes of blood on it.
Two lights shone brightly outwards in a brilliant manner with another light as well, though much more faded.
A sinister glow erupted out from the other side of the room.
A disgusting black goop lay a trail up to the throne next to the glow.
The person on the throne emanating the glow seemed to be seeping it from their mouth and eyes.
As she breathed, so did the goop.
As she twitched, so did the goop.
As she stood up from the throne, the goopy trail gurgled its way to her in an unpleasant fashion.
Small bubbles popped on the murky surface of the throne.
The three girls that the lights shone from looked at the emaciated girl with fear, yet contempt.
She looked back.
She grinned maliciously.
"Well, I was expecting you later, but I suppose we can start early if you like."
She raised her hand, the goop forming around her fingers into claws. The grin grew.
"Let's end this, shall we?"
She charged.
And so did they.
Interesting, this future. Not the one you know, I'm sure. You may have some questions.
Who is fighting who?
Is it the great 'Calamity Trio' versus another great threat?
Where is Luz?
Why the hell are you rewriting this fanfic? I was completely fine with the previous iteration.
All answered in good time.
Except for the last one, the author can answer that now.
Hello. It has been a while. I was meaning to finish writing the next chapter, but then...quite a bit followed. I'm not going to say what, but just know I was very busy. For the five people reading, I apologize for the wait.
Now, I believe that the writing I did before wasn't the best that I could do. I believe that the story wasn't the best I could do. Or the way it was told. This may be a fanfic, but I want to nail it. So, I'm going to be remaking this fanfic from the ground up. Fortunately, I wasn't too deep with the first version, so it's not too great a loss of progress. Besides, I'm the kind of person who prefers clean slates either way.
This was just a small preview of what's coming up. And just know, to paraphrase the words of the creator of Tyrion Lannister, one of my favorite characters ever,
The devil is in the details,
And there are a whole lot of devils.
Thirteen-Seven out. Later.
