Sorry for my bad English.
This chapter will not have much jokes like usual, it is just to feel the Eds a little about Erika.
After her run with the Kankers sisters, Erika was being more careful during her time at school.
She tried to get help from the teachers, telling them about what was happening, only to them say that was going to see what they could do, but the Brazilian notices the fear in their eyes. It seems that the Kanker's sister are scarier than Erika thought if they were capable of scaring the teachers.
With a deep sigh, she enters her next class.
The rest of the school day was pretty much normal, except for the fact that the Eds, alongside Johnny and Plank, tried to break out the school, something she prefers to stay out. When the last bell rang, she left the school along with her classmates and found the Eds with their faces smashed on the concrete.
-Are we free yet? -Asked Ed a bit dazed.
-This is all your fault, Sockhead. -Eddy spoke next, throwing the blame on his friend.
-What was I thinking, Eddy? -Double D sarcastically asked.
Another perfect plan that fails.
With a deep sigh, she gave her goodbyes to the Eds and went to take the bus, except for the fact that Eddy growled and stood in her way.
-This is your fault! -He began, putting the blame now on Erika. -If you had help, the would have work!
-I fail to see how my contribution would be any help in your escaping plan, Eddy. -Stated Erika. -Besides, did you know that even you guys were able to escape today, you all would have to go back tomorrow?
As if the realization kicked off, Eddy made an unbearable face before clenching his teeth and give one of his famous screams.
-WHO DID YOU TAKE ME FOR?!
To their surprise, the scream did not faze Erika a bit. The Brazilian then reached for her ears, removing pieces of gum from inside.
-I take you as someone who should scream less and listen more.
Eddy's head at this point was red like a tomato and boiling like a pressure cooker. It got wost when he heard the chuckling of his smart friend. Ed, on the other hand, put an egg on the top of his friend's boiling head and got cooked in no time.
-I love fried eggs! -Ed shouts and mauled Eddy's head.
While chewing the egg, Eddy's body was missing his head until he took it off from his shirt like a turtle.
Erika rolled her eyes with a smile before turn away to take the bus home. But before, she was not the type of girl who would let her friends feeling down, or at least close to shoving a friend inside the mouth of another. With a sigh, she turns around to face the Eds.
-That candy store from another day still is open? -Erika asked.
-I believe that the doors are still open to the public. -Double D stated. -Why?
-You guys seem like you have a bad day, and since I still have the money from the space ball I sold a couple of days ago. -Eddy groaned at the memory. -Do you guys want that candy from before? Will be my treat.
The eyes of the Eds shoot wide open by hearing Erika's offer. Jawbreakers were just being offered for them for free! The only time they got a chance to receive Jawbreakers for free was when Kevin began to distribute in their street, but they did not get any.
-Erika, I already told you that you are one of my favorite friends? -Eddy asked, his humor turning upside down.
-JAWBREAKERS! -Ed shouts and got the Brazilian girl above his head and runs to the candy store.
-Ed! I can walk by myself! -Erika shouts but the big Ed seemed to not listen. -Ed!
Double D and Eddy quickly went after their friends to the candy store, it is not often someone offers to them Jawbreakers.
At the candy store, Erika looked incredulous at the giant candy in her hand.
She heard about Jawbreakers but thought it was a name due to the candy being too hard to chew. What she had in her hands had the size of a basketball. Even knowing the Eds, she was surprised to see the three of them with the jawbreakers inside their mouths. She was not able to put the whole hand candy inside her mouth, so she was limited to lick around the sweet ball.
It would take a while.
-C'mon! -Eddy began. -Don't tell me that Brazilians can't take a jawbreaker?
-In Brazil, we also have candy with the same name, but it not have that size. -Erika answered and gave another lick. -And it is not so sweet.
-Erika, I can't help but notice that you rarely speak about your home country. -Double D stated. -Pardon me if it is personal but there is a reason for that.
-No, I don't have a problem with talking about Brazil. -Erika answered. -Besides, I already spoke about it when we meet.
-You are from the place where people like to shake their butts, right? -Ed asked, shaking his own behind while making the question.
-It's called Samba Ed. -Erika started. -It is a musical genre and a very popular dance style in Brazil, especially in the state of Bahia.
-This is something I did not need to know. -Eddy spoke.
-I thought you already knew about samba Eddy. -Double D said.
-This is only in Brazilian dubbing Sockhead.
-The what? -Erika asked.
-Nevermind. -Eddy said. -Did you mention that place also has jawbreakers?
-They are mainly made of coconut but the name is the same. -Erika answered and gave another lick on her jawbreaker. -It is not so made nowadays but my grandma still knows how to make. My dad seems to like rapadura more.
-Rapadura? -The three boys asked.
-It is unrefined whole cane sugar which is a solid form of sucrose derived from the boiling and evaporation of sugarcane juice.
Both Ed and Eddy blinked for a few moments, prompting to Double D to translate.
-It is a hard candy.
-And why did she not said that? -Eddy asked.
-Candy from another world? -Ed asked.
Erika rolled her eyes and gave another lick on her jawbreaker.
-This may take a while.
-There something else I"m curious, Erika. -Double D began. -What is the reason for your family move from your home country to our beloved Peach Creek?
-My father got a promotion in his workplace, one that needed him to move out of Brazil. He becomes a CEO and had to move to from town to town stay full time in the companies he runs until he received the notice that he and my family were going to leave the country so he could run a company here in Peach Creek.
-Wait a minute! -Eddy shouts. -If your father is a CEO, this means that you have money to spare, right? -Eddy then turns his back to his friends and starts to rub his hands. -This means I can profit even more if I got her in one of my scams... much more. -The sound of a cash register opening and his eyes just became dollar signs.
-Eddy, with your voice whispering, is like normal talking. -Doble D stated. -Besides, she already outsmarts you three times already.
-And was not very hard. -Erika stated.
-Mutant Brain! -Ed shouts.
-It is just that I have experience dealing with scammers. -Erika said. -My neighbor tried a different scam once in every week. From selling fake jewelry to try to sell the car that belonged to someone else.
-Oh my, there's more of Eddy around? -Double D asked, sounding scared, then began to laugh.
-In your dreams sockhead! -Eddy spoke. -I'm one and one million!
-And I have the bad luck to meet two in two million. -Erika stated, making Ed and Double D laugh again, while Eddy groaned.
-Talk about the people from another planet! -Ed shouts. -Ed wants to be prepared for when they invade!
Erika raised an eyebrow, clearly not understanding what Ed was talking about.
-I believe Ed wants to hear about your old acquaintances from your past home, Erika. -Double D stated.
-Oh, right. -Erika thought for a moment before speak again. -Well, I want to start with Pedro. He was one of my classmates who seemed to be interested in me and did not make a good job hiding it. He's a nice guy, but I just wanted to be his friend. His birthday parties were the bests. All the food and the games, I had so much fun. It sure one of the things I most miss from Brazil.
-Alien Party! -Ed shouts.
-Nevermind him, Erika. -Double D said. -Please continue.
-Okay, the one I miss most is my all-time friend Fernanda. She was my friend since kindergarten. She was always there for me when I needed it, and she was like a sister to me. We would do everything together, so when she heard that I was going to leave Brazil, we both let out tears. -Erika's tone got lower as she spoke, clearly missing her best friend. -But she wished me the best of luck when we said our goodbyes with a hug.
As she finished her explanation, she heard Ed whimpering and tear falling from his eyes.
-No friend for Erika! -Ed shouts and hugged her. -Ed is your friend!
-Thank... you... Ed... -Erika said, trying to breathe.
-I'm sure she also misses you, Erika. -Double D said.
Even being the smartest of the Eds, he did not notice the face Erika was making while thinking about her best friend. To not make them notices, she decides to speak about the first thing that could come to her mind.
-There's also TamÃ. -Even if means think about her enemies. -God, I could not stand that girl. After a game of soccer when I blocked her kick, she decides to make my life the most miserable she could make. All because of a game she lost.
-Why this sound familiar to Ed? -Ed asked, not noticing that he was talking about his short friend.
-Who knows monobrow. -Eddy said, not noticing either. -It is probably from one of your stupid cartoons.
-Oh yeah! I love cartoons in America. -Erika said. -The Brazilians always added their touch in some lines.
-What line? -Ed asked. -I don't see any line. -Eddy answered Ed's question by shoving his head on the manhole. -It didn't hurt!
-Ed, leave the Portuguese lines to the Brazilians. -Eddy said.
-What? -Erika asked.
-Nothing. -Eddy said, finishing his jawbreaker. -You gonna eat that?
-Eddy, I licked all over.
...
...
...
-So, you gonna eat that?
Finishing that jawbreaker took a while, but Erika managed to do it.
The candy was gone once was small enough to fit in her mouth. Opening the door of her house, her memory brough back the flavor she tasted while licking the candy. It was different from what she was used to, and she sure would not mind another one, as long it is not bigger than her head.
-Where were you? -A voice asked.
Erika turns to look at a man wearing a business suit with some papers in his hand.
-I was with some friends.
-You know you have time to come home, so don't get late.
-It was just a minute!
-I don't want excuses.
-But...
-Shouldn't you be working on your English? -The man asked and turning back to his papers, showing that was a question with one answer.
Erika groaned and went to her room, but before she turns to the man one last time.
-Are you staying for dinner?
-Yes. -Was all he said.
Erika sighed.
End of the chapter.
Like I said, it was just to fill the Eds about her life a little. Another chapter like that will be made in the future but for the next, I will see if will be from a episode or a original one.
That's all folks, see you next time.
