Vytal Tournament Festival Begins!
Kibo is seen walking with Yang and Ruby together heading to their home to get at least one relaxing day as the next few hours is the big day that he and the other Hunters have all been waiting for.
"The big day is here right around the concern." Kibo said.
"You got that right; I can't believe the Vytal Tournament is today and I'm starting to feel nervous." Yang admitted.
"Right with you on that, big sis. I'm the youngest to get accepted into Beacon, I'm worry the people will find that strange." Ruby exclaimed.
"I'm sure they will see how great you are in the tournament with your team, give it your all and never give up until you can't move anymore." Kibo advised with a clench fist.
"You do remember you're out when your aura reaches the red zone, right?" Yang asked.
"I still stand what I said." Kibo said.
"Thanks again for coming with us to Patch for a special visit, I know Ruby wanted to come here alone though I thought she could use the support and you to meet my dad." Yang thanked.
"Of course, I've been wanting to meet one of the greatest Huntsman that has graduated from Beacon." Kibo smiled.
"Well, I wouldn't say I'm the greatest or anything." A man chuckled walking up to them.
"Dad!" Ruby excited and dash hugging the man.
Ruby and Yang's dad is a man with blond hair that has two small strands sticking out from the top and blue eyes. His facial hair consists of a soul patch and small stubble along his jawline. On his right arm is a tattoo of his emblem, which resembles a heart. His hair was once a bright shade of gold, but in his older age, it has notably grayed somewhat - still blond, but far more subdued. He wears brown cargo shorts with a dark brown belt, black shoes, a red bandana on his left arm and a brown leather vest over a tan dress shirt with the right sleeve cut off. For armor, he wears a metal spaulder, leather vambrace and a brown fingerless glove all on his right arm.
"Ruby! And Yang, nice to see you girls 'stepping in from above' for your old man." The dad joked making Ruby groans and Yang laugh.
"You just ruined the moment, dad." Ruby sighed.
"Come on, Ruby. You can't really blame dad 'hugging' out his jokes." Yang punned, both father and oldest daughter laugh.
"Way to 'Yang' yourself into that." The dad joked again.
"I'm starting to see where Yang gets her jokes from." Kibo said.
"And you must be the boyfriend Yang told me so much about, I thought I wouldn't be able to finish her letters about you before you got here." The dad teased.
"Dad, I didn't write that much." Yang exclaimed blushing.
"I know, just teasing." The dad grinned before turning back to Kibo.
"My name is Taiyang Xiao Long, Ruby and Yang's dad. I also like to go by Tai for short." Tai revealed his name to Kibo.
"It's an honor to meet you, my name is Kibo Hokuto." Kibo greeted and shake hands with the man.
"Man, to think I would actually meet a fighter of Hokuto Shinken in this life of mine." Tai amazed.
"Ah, so you know about the style before your daughter told you about me." Kibo figured this would happen.
"Of course, what martial artiest haven't heard about Hokuto Shinken. The greatest and dangerous style in the world that can kill both man and Grimm in a single strike with just his finger, and about chaos follows wherever Hokuto goes." Tai mentioned the stories he heard of.
"I'm surprise nothing bad happened to Beacon whenever I get messages from my daughters or when we video chat." Tai scratched the back of his head.
"Well, I wouldn't say something bad did happen…" Ruby chuckled nervously and pressing her fingers together.
"But we took care of them, and everything is right as rain." Yang stated.
"I can see you're a strong fighter yourself, Mr. Xiao Long, perhaps we could spare together." Kibo offered.
"Aw, stop. You're making me blush, I'm sure an old man like me wouldn't make you sweat." Tai chuckled.
"Any who, shouldn't you guys be at the Vale for the tournament? Not that I'm grateful to see you again, but I'm also going to be out for a mission." Tai asked.
"We know, we just came by to say some words to mom before the tournament." Ruby said as Zwei runs up to Ruby by the legs.
Tai can see that Ruby wants to say a few words to her late mother, Summer Rose, about all the fun and hard things she gone through with Yang at Beacon as talking to her spirit would always make her feel better even if it just a little.
"Okay." Tai nodded.
The four, five if you count Zwei who likes to run around in circles of the group, have made their way to the grave through the woods that is not too far from their house.
Ruby let out a sigh of relief to see the grave of her mom is still there close to the edge cliff, she looks to Yang who is mentally preparing herself for this before nodding at Ruby, they hold hands and walk together to the grave like Kibo, Tai, and Zwei stay behind.
"I heard about her a few times from the girls, of how great of a mother and a Huntress she was." Kibo mentioned.
"Yeah, she was the bet we know with a big heart and a strong mind." Tai nodded.
"More kindhearted than your first was, I take it?" Kibo asked causing Tai to become silence for a moment.
"Is Yang still searching for her?" Tai asked.
"She is, but she is more focus on the here and now to become a strong Huntress with her sister and friends. Living life to the fullest, as they say." Kibo explained.
"That's good to hear, I haven't told her about her mom though something tells me that's going to be sooner." Tai said feeling a bit worry.
"What's important is that you be there for your daughters and help support of whatever decision they make with some guidance to help walk the right path." Kibo advised.
"Man, you speak like you had years of experience even though you're the same age as Ruby." Tai chuckled surprise.
"I seem to get that a lot." Kibo commented.
Meanwhile, Ruby and Yang are sitting on their knees in front of Summer's grave smiling with all the memories of her are surfacing into their minds and Ruby was the first one to speak up.
"Hey, mom. Sorry I haven't come by in a while. Things have been... well, things have been, pretty busy. Oh, Dad's here, too! He's, uh, you know... Dad." Ruby chuckled.
"He's still teaching at Signal. But he told me that he's going to be on some mission soon. I think he misses adventuring with you. I miss you too." Ruby admitted with a small smile.
"We all miss you, but we know that you wouldn't want us to keep crying for losing you and remember what you've always taught us. Still going strong for a 'Xiao Long' time." Yang punned making Ruby rolled her eyes.
"Anyway, neither of us got kicked out of Beacon meaning we are definitely earning our keeps in that school." Yang explained.
"Yeah, Yang is a great fighter and being on a team with her helps raise my confident a little. Oh, so are Weiss and Blake. Oh! They're my teammates! Together, we form Team RWBY! And yes, before you ask, that does cause a lot of confusion. Anyways, I made a bunch of new friends, and then I met some... let's just say, uh, odd teachers." Ruby mentioned.
"Yeah, like Professor Port wouldn't stop talking about himself in his "younger days" in Grimm class and Oobleck being too obese with history and keeps referring to himself as "Doctor" like he went to medical school." Yang listed the odd teachers.
"Professor Peach and Goodwitch are still okay, right?" Ruby asked.
"I think so, but Glynda Goodwitch is way to strict with classes. Not like with Kibo." Yang shrugged.
"Oh! We've also stopped some bad guys, too! I guess it's like they say: "like mother, like daughters"!" Ruby smiled.
"You would be so proud of how hard we had to fight some Grimms to protect the city." Yang pounded her fists together.
"I still wonder why Ozpin let me into the school early. But uh, I guess he'll tell me one day. You know how he is. It's funny, the more I get to know him, the more he's starting to sound like Uncle Qrow." Ruby stated.
"You think so, that's strange." Yang commented.
"Not as strange as you being in a harem relationship with Kibo." Ruby said.
"Call it what you will, but our love is for real, and you wouldn't believe how much of a man he is in bed with him." Yang smirked.
"Ew! Don't give our dead mom some weird ideas!" Ruby complained.
"Whoa, you really did it with five girls as a harem!" Tai shocked after learning about the harem from Kibo.
"I haven't actually had sex with Coco and Velvet yet, but something tells me they'll want some soon." Kibo said.
"Please tell me that Yang had protection to prevent being pregnant?" Tai asked even though he would love being a grandpa someday, just not so soon.
"Hmm, I think Yang and Hakuocho might be taking those pills I heard about though I'm not sure about Glynda." Kibo tried to remember.
"Hey Kibo, come on and say to our mom!" Yang called out.
"Looks like I'm about to introduce myself." Kibo said to Tai.
"Go for it, I'm sure Summer would love to meet the man who was able to tame the fierce Sun Dragon." Tai smiled gently pushing Kibo forward.
"Oh, but tell them we have to leave soon since we're on the time and all." Tai tapped his wrist for the hand sign of the time.
Kibo nods while making his way to the grave sitting next to Yang and look at the tombstone.
"Hello, Ms. Rose, I'm Kibo Hokuto and I have heard stories about you of how much of a noble warrior you were. I promise with my fists that I will protect your daughter to the end and all that is love and innocent, others wit darkness in their hearts will meet with Hell." Kibo promised.
"Yeah, all he does is poke the bad guys and BOOM! They exploded in a very gross way." Ruby bragged.
"But it's still awesome." Yang believed.
"Girls, your father said it's time to go." Kibo informed and Zwei barks loud to them.
"We gotta go! He's dropping us off at Beacon for the tournament match before he goes on his next mission. Wish us luck!" Ruby said as they stand up looking at the grave one last time.
"It was a good talk." Ruby smiled before walking away with the others.
"Even though she isn't with us anymore, it's nice to know that Summer will always have a place in our hearts no matter what." Tai smiled.
"You can say that again, Dad." Yang chuckled.
"So, what mission are you going on this time?" Yang asked curiously.
"Nothing big and much excitement but taking care of some small Grimms that have been causing trouble for some mail delivery men making their rounds, I also have to help them deliver some packages too." Tai explained about the mission.
"That still count for something." Ruby believed.
"Now, I want you girls to not get carry away when fighting some opponents and be sure to show them some strong spirit!" Tai advised.
"Don't worry, dad, we totally got this tournament in the bag." Yang smirked.
"Until you have to fight against me in the tournament." Kibo reminded his girlfriend.
"But wait, the first round is going to be a full four-man team event and you're a solo man. How is that going to work out for you?" Ruby asked concern.
"Don't worry, I'm sure they'll allow me to fight solo against a team." Kibo assured.
"You know, I remember there was another guy who was a student in Haven years ago back when I was a second-year in Beacon." Tai remembered that time.
"Really? Does he still do training?" Kibo asked.
"I don't know, I never knew the guy much and never gone to Mistral often either." Tai shrugged.
"Let's not worry about that because we got a big tournament to do!" Yang excited.
"Yeah, the whole world is going to see how awesome team RWBY's might is!" Ruby jumped high in the air and caught in the hood by Tai.
"Well, now I know I won't have to worry about you girls feeling nervous about the tournament." Tai chuckled.
"And Kibo, I love my daughters so much, but I wouldn't mind seeing your strength too when I watch the tournament on my Scroll." Tai said.
"I'll be sure to teach them the art of humility." Kibo nodded.
"Oh please, we'll be showing you how awesome our 'hu-womanility' is!" Yang punned.
"My god, that was so bad…" Ruby sighed.
"I don't know, looks like Yang was just showing the hum-ability of the joke." Tai joked as the father and daughter laugh together.
(Amity Colosseum)
Team RWBY and Kibo arrived onto the Amity Colosseum where the tournament is going to held with a lot of people looking forward to seeing the events about to start, along with some student teams from different Hunter schools have gather to see which of them will win the whole thing.
"Wow! This is a lot bigger than when we watch it on TV back home!" Ruby amazed.
"This is also known as a migrating location for the Vytal Festival tournament which over time through each year, the festival itself grew bigger and bigger until all the Councilmen from each kingdoms decided to make a much grand stage for the tournament where it can be above everyone else too." Blake explained.
"It must have taken a lot of hard and effort for everyone to make such a mighty structure to be in the air like this." Kibo commented.
"Yes, it was a lot of work from what I hear, and it also uses a very large gravity Dust crystal to make this stadium float, so it can go to the different kingdoms of where it's going to be held every year." Weiss mentioned.
"Talk about being all 'High' and mighty." Yang punned causing her team to groan.
"Anyway, their about to announce the start and we need to get to the gathering for the competitors." Weiss stated.
"Right… Where is that again?" Ruby asked.
"It's this way." Blake gestured to the direction and the group went into the stadium.
They arrive to the area where the students competing for the Vytal Festival Tournament have gathered like most would, they walk within the large crowd of Huntsmen and Huntresses in training while being careful of how could pull something to throw the others off.
Kibo move his eyes down to the right from his instinct and grab a hand that was about to grab onto Yang's butt.
"I believe hands off your future opponents before the match even start." Kibo glared at the guy causing his spine to shiver.
"S-Sorry…" The guy apologized and back away.
"My hero." Yang smiled and kissed him on the cheek.
Then several loud trumpet sounds went off getting everyone's attention to see both Ozpin and James Ironwood at the center of the fighting stage.
"Greetings everyone, and welcome to another exciting year of the Vytal Festival!" Ozpin started off.
"Where we celebrate all the years of peace between the four great kingdoms and hope to continue that peace with working together no matter where one's from or what you are." James stated with a strong smile.
"And it is also where the students from each of the academies will display their strength through all the hard training and lessons they have gone through. These are the new future protectors of the world, and they will show you how dedicated they are into becoming that and perhaps some more." Ozpin believed.
"So, without further ado…" James paused to say the last part with Ozpin.
"Let the Vytal Festival Tournament begin!" They declared and everyone cheers.
"I will show the world… that Hokuto Shinken is invincible!" Kibo determined as he looks forward to fighting the many strong opponents in their tournament.
