A Slicing Smashing Victory for Team JNPR
Mercury saw Emerald walking away and hurry to walk with her, then notice that Kibo is glaring at them causing a slight shiver from his spine before he shook off the feeling and hurry to the green hair girl.
"So, how are the new friends?" Mercury asked.
"I hate them. And I hate Kibo more." Emerald answered disgusts of this topic.
"Orders are orders." Mercury reminded her of what Cinder told them to do while in their undercover mission.
"I just... how can they be so happy all the time!?" Emerald wondered of how much naïve these people are.
"Did you at least get what we want?" Mercury asked.
"No, that Kibo kept them from spilling which of the two from RWBY are going to be moving on and so, we're in the dark." Emerald explained angry.
"Damn it, Cinder is not gonna be happy about this." Mercury cursed.
Meanwhile, team RWBY and Kibo headed to get something to eat and it's at Yang's favorite food stand called A Simple Wok where it has the best bowl of noodles one can get from this small yet good food business.
"I'll have a bowl of the regular, please." Yang made her order, and the old man gave her a large bowl of noodles.
"Oohhh... I'll take the same." Ruby requested and she got the same large bowl at Yang.
"Do you have anything with a low salt...?" Weiss was gonna ask about the noodles the old man has, but she just got one large bowl of noodles as well.
When it was Blake's turn, she simply looks at the old man and not even saying a word about her order as if the old man already knew she wants from the look of her face, then zips into the back and coming back out with a large bowl of fish much to her delight with her eyes became stars and drooling.
"Do you also add shrimp and beefs?" Kibo asked.
The old man simply nods then went to the back for a few seconds and came out giving Kibo his order of one large noodle bowl with shrimps and beefs.
"Wow, didn't think you were that kind of a combo guy." Yang surprised.
"I'm always willing to try out new things and want to see them being put together." Kibo explained.
Weiss made a soft cough sound before taking out her credit card which has the Schnee Dust Company logo on it, the old man took it seeing they'll be paying in credit.
"Aw, Weiss! What's the occasion!?" Yang asked smiling.
"Consider it thanks for sending me to the doubles round." Weiss answered with a smile.
Kibo instantly caught Weiss's card that was thrown to her by the old man that surprises her, and they see the old man's register beeps her card has been declined.
"It looks like your generosity has been denied." Kibo commented.
"What?! How can my card be declined? I was barely into my monthly allowance!" Weiss shocked.
Blake started to fear that her bowl of fish is about to be taken away as she slowly makes an attempt to take it, but it was too late as the old man took it back and she screams of sorrow.
"It looks like we may have to eat elsewhere like the school's cafeteria." Kibo suggested.
"Maybe I could help?" Pyrrha offered as she and her team walked up to them.
"Pyrrha! /Hello, Pyrrha." Ruby and Kibo greeted the girl at the same time.
"Aw, you don't have to." Yang said.
"But she could!" Blake insisted. She really wants her fish right now.
"Well, I think you all earned it after that battle." Pyrrha believed as she reaches into her own pocket to pay for the meals.
"Mind if we join you?" Jaune asked.
"Of course, more friends for important meals like this." Kibo nodded.
And so, both teams and Kibo got to eating their large bowl meals together while having a great time and chatting some about their days and how they're going to rock the tournament, and then most of everyone starts to feel a little stomachache from eating too many noodles and such. The only ones who are not hurt from the belly and satisfy with their meals are Kibo, Yang, and Pyrrha.
"Are you sure it's wise to have eaten before a fight?" Ren asked concern.
"Of course! It will give us energy!" Pyrrha nodded with a smile while the shopkeeper took the bowls away for cleaning.
Then Nora let out a loud burp that nearly blew her off the chair she is sitting on and Jaune groans from feeling so sickly right now.
"If I barf, I'm blaming you." Jaune exclaimed.
"Ooh, Aim at the enemy!" Nora suggested with an evil smile.
"Nora, that's disgusting. But if you feel the urge..." Ren knew that might happen if Jaune's stomach doesn't feel better soon.
"Got it." Jaune responded groaning with a thumb up.
"Well, it would seem you guys are very ready for your turn in the tournament." Kibo said.
"Of course! We've got a world-renowned fighter on our team, one's basically ninja, I can bench five of me, Jaune, we trained all year, our weapons are awesome, Glynda barely yells at us anymore, and Jaune is more skilled with his sword now!" Nora pointed out cheerfully.
"You have improved greatly throughout the times." Ren smiled.
"Thanks, feel like I'm ready to take on the world now." Jaune grinned, feeling confident.
"Glad to see you're ready to face death in the eyes." Yang smirked, causing Jaune to gulp in fear.
"Don't be so nervous! The worst that can happen is we lose, that is just a few more years of walking around school with everyone knowing we're failures, our friends will slowly abandon us to preserve their social status, we won't be able to show our faces in class, no one will sit with us in the cafeteria, Ren and I have no parents, we have no home left to go to, we'll be officially renamed Team Lose-iper!" Nora laughed then turns to sad sob and slamming her face on the counter.
"So, yeah, we're feeling pretty good." Ren shrugged.
"Don't fret. If anything, we should be looking forward to a fight with actual guidelines, and not, well, ...murderers." Pyrrha stated.
"Yeah, don't sweat it, we've all faced way worse before." Yang smirked.
"Let's see. Grimm invasions, violent extremists, a destructive sociopath..." Blake listed the things they have done so far.
"And that's all while were still in training! Oh, imagine what it would be like to graduate!" Ruby excited.
"Maybe then I'll be able to pay for a meal." Weiss muttered.
"Do let all that get into your heads too much." Kibo said getting their attention.
"We were all fortunate the events we lived through were something we all did together, but it's best to always be prepare for more of what's to come and that includes the darkness lurking around." Kibo pointed out as he stands up.
"Always be prepared for the worst and train for there will always be someone stronger than you." Kibo advised.
"Wow, that's very deep." Jaune commented and feels inspired too.
"Would Team JNPR please report to the battlegrounds immediately!" Port called out from the speaker boxes.
"Yes! Like they were scheduled to, several minutes ago!" Oobleck added.
"Well, it looks like this is it." Pyrrha said as team JNPR makes their way for their battle.
(Amity Coliseum)
Kibo and team RWBY are sitting together in the front row, waiting for the battle to start and to see how this will turn out.
"So, who do you think will win?" Yang asked.
"Obviously, team JNPR because they have Pyrrha on their side." Weiss stated her opinion.
"You shouldn't focus on one person for the sole victory, the rest will pull through." Kibo believed.
"Hope you don't mind that we sit next to you." Glynda smiled as she, Coco, Velvet, and Hakuocho sat next to Kibo who smiles at them.
"Hey, babe." Hakuocho kissed Kibo on the lips for a couple of seconds.
"Okay, time to see what this time is capable of." Coco smirked.
Meanwhile, Isabella is watching the fight from another spot in the arena getting excited to see this fight.
"Okay, show me how much you have grown, Pyrrha Nikos." Isabella smiled.
"Team JNPR of Beacon versus Team BRNZ of Shade!" Port announced.
"3... 2... 1..."
"Come on, guys!" Jaune said.
(Music: Blue, ViViD)
"BEGIN!" Port started the match.
The two teams charge at each other except for May Zedong turns around and ran toward the trees of her team's side.
"(What is that girl doing?)" Jaune thought wondered.
Pyrrha fights off Brawnz Ni blocking his knee-kick with her shield and block his clawed-knuckle gloves pushing him away. Nora and Ren fight together against Nolan Porfirio as the former swings her hammer to smack him down, but Nolan dodges that and tries striking his weapon at Nora though she dodges that too.
"Alright, show me how sharp you are." Jaune taunted one member of team BRNZ, Roy Stallion.
"I'll show you sharp, alright." Roy smirked as he jumps spinning with his saws striking at Jaune's shield.
The opponent's attack pushed the Arc boy back a few feet, but he stands his ground to push him and clashes the saws with his sword.
Meanwhile, May got herself up on a branch of a tree and got her sniper gun ready aiming at the Ren guy and made a shot that Ren's instinct took over to dodge the sudden shot letting it destroy part of the rock behind him.
"What the?" Jaune shocked after pushing his opponent back.
May starts firing more shots at team JNPR as Jaune starts to see the other team now have a big advantage over them.
"Retreat!" Jaune called out.
Team JNPR hurry behind the rocks to get some cover from the sniper.
"What do we do?" Pyrrha asked.
Jaune quickly looks over the rocks seeing three of team BRNZ and the sniper is still shooting from a far distance as he tries to think of a plan to really get at that sniper.
"Spread out, try to keep moving." Jaune ordered then blocks an attack from Brawnz.
Nolan is now facing Ren and turns his head around knowing that May is in a good position as she fires at Ren who flips to the right to dodge, that's when Nolan steps in to whack him on the head with his cattle prod only for the pink-streak boy to make an instant movement with his foot to hold it up.
"Huh?" Nolan surprised to see that Ren managed to escape from that combo.
"I'm more than just my fists." Ren smirked.
Nolan starts swinging his weapon fiercely at Ren trying to get a good hit in though keeps being parry away by his feet, Ren performs a small midair spin kick that made a cut hole on his opponent's shirt.
"Okay, now you're asking for it." Nolan angered as he turns on the electric shock feature.
Ren grins as he was waiting for something like this to happen.
"Nora!" Ren called out.
In that moment when Nolan is about to tap onto Ren for the shock treatment, Nora steps in between them taking the attack herself and looks very happy with that dangerous smile.
"Oh-ho! Looks like one of my favorite students, Nora Valkyrie, is charging up to use her Semblance!" Port chuckled.
"What?!" Nolan panicked.
"Yes, Ms. Valkyrie's Semblance lets her produce, as well as channel, electrical energy straight to her muscles! This allows her to jump explosively into the air, wield her mighty hammer, or in this case, absorb Nolan's attacks and send the young man flying!" Oobleck explained about Nora's Semblance.
"What?!" Nolan freaked out even more now.
Nora starts charging up her body to unleash a powerful strike right between Nolan's legs and sending him crashing right into a huge rock, there was a pause moment when Nolan saw her smirking face before sent toward that rock.
Jaune saw this and turns around seeing the storm cloud at the top of the mountain side with some thundering sound, this gave him an idea that will give his team the win and survive this round.
"Nora, get to the mountain!" Jaune ordered, pointing his sword at the mountain.
"You got it!" Nora nodded and made her way to the thunder cloud.
"Ren, try and distract the sniper." Jaune ordered Ren to help Nora.
"Sure, why not." Ren sighed before making his run towards May.
Roy throws his saw at Jaune who parry them away with his shield and sword then charging at him forcing the young man from the opposite team to dodge them, getting his saw backs and clashes against his shield and got kicked away.
"Yeah, go get him, Jaune!" Ruby cheered.
"I'm happy to see that Jaune has improved so much." Glynda relieved.
"You wouldn't happen to do anything about this, would you?" Yang asked Kibo.
"We had a few sparring matches once and a while, just gave him some tips on his style and all." Kibo explained.
"And he is working so well with Pyrrha too!" Velvet pointed at the two working together.
Jaune and Pyrrha are caught between Brownz and Roy though that didn't stop them from bursting some of their own combo moves together, clashing and switching partners every few seconds or so to confuse them.
"Have a nice flight." Jaune smirked as he shoulder-throw Brownz sending him flying.
Pyrrha swipe kick Roy off his feet and smack him in the air with her shield to be crashed by Brownz sliding onto the ground.
Ren charges toward the tree May is station for her sniper range, but the ninja boy of team JNPR has decided to show off one of his techniques to hopefully get her down.
"Nanto Shoukyuu Houdan (Soaring Aura Blast)!" Ren created an aura ball then kicking it hard like a soccer ball, then it separated into several energy shots that almost hit May and knocked down Nolan who just got back up.
"What the heck was that?" May gasped.
May tries to shoot Ren away though he keeps dodging and gets closer to her, then she tries focusing her shooting onto Nora who is getting closer to the top and Ren saw this trying to knock her down by sending a flying slash attack cutting the branch she is standing on. But May reacted quickly enough to jump onto another branch while still aiming at Nora.
"Nora!" Ren worried for his childfriend/crush.
Jaune can see that Nora is in danger and she needs to be protected for just one more moment until she gets to the top.
"Pyrrha, up!" Jaune ordered before knocking Brownz down with a strong headbutt.
"Guess Jaune knows how to think a-head." Yang punned.
"For once, I'm okay with that pun." Blake said.
Pyrrha performs some triple backflip kicks pushing Roy down with the final kick and jumps over Brownz to land on his shield and throw up high, just in time to get into May's shooting sight to block the dust bullet.
"This match is going to be over soon." Kibo stated.
Nora is now standing at the top of the mountain and using her hammer to draw in the lightning charging her up and switch her hammer into a grenade launcher mode, firing six grenade missiles at May who manages to dodge the giant explosion after being shocked. But the thunder girl wasn't finish yet as she jumps and slams down her hammer so hard that she sent the rest of team BRNZ flying at May who is coughing from the smoke.
"This is it, guys! Let's finish 'em with team attacks! Ren! Nora! Flower Power!" Jaune commanded.
"Wait, what?" Nora confused.
(Music End)
This stumps Jaune as he turns to face his teammates.
"F-Flower Power. That's your team attack name!" Jaune said.
"Since when?" Ren confused.
"Guys, we've been over this! Flower Power is Ren and Nora! Ren brings the flower; Nora brings the power!" Jaune explained.
"The rhyme is good, but how do I bring a flower?" Ren confused still.
"Oh, flower! I thought he meant like the flour for baking." Nora realized now.
"I- Uh- No, it's your symbol!" Jaune said.
"So, what are we?" Pyrrha asked.
"Pyrrha!" Jaune shocked that his girlfriend doesn't understand their team attack.
"Sorry! I just want to make sure it's clearly defined." Pyrrha said.
"Pyrrha, you and I are Arkos. It's that thing when we take our shields. Remember?" Jaune reminded her.
"Arkos?" Pyrrha puzzled.
"Yeah, our names put together like how some… married couples do." Jaune explained blushing.
"Wow, Jaune! Didn't know you were so forward." Nora teased causing Pyrrha to blush as well.
Team BRNZ could not believe what is going on, they are in the middle of a battle and their opponents are having a conversation right now.
"HEY! What do you think you're doing!?" Brawnz shouted getting JNPR's attention.
"Trying to have a team meeting, thank you very little!" Jaune answered, being obvious of the battle that is still going on.
"Yeah! Team ears only!" Nora added.
"WE'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF A FIGHT!" Brawnz shouted.
"AND WE'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF A CONVERSATION! WHAT DON'T YOU GET ABOUT THAT!?" Jaune shouted back even louder.
"Um, Jaune." Pyrrha said.
"Yes, Pyrrha." Jaune responded.
"I think that he means that we're all in the middle of a fight." Pyrrha gestured to the crowd.
This got Jaune to remember that they are still in the middle of the first-round tournament and just decided not to care about the team attack.
"Nora, just... hit them with the hammer." Jaune sighed.
"Got it." Nora smiled evilly.
"Wait, what?" Brawnz shocked as he and his team are scared right now.
Nora jumps from her team to the opponent team swinging her hammer with all the might from her super charge sending team BRNZ flying and crashing onto the forcefield.
"And with that, it appears Team JNPR wins by knockout, literally! ...Can someone go make sure they're okay?" Port asked.
"Not how I expected their fight would end, but good job." Hakuocho nodded.
"Guess not every victory is grand." Kibo commented.

Team JNPR got their win thought not exactly the way Jaune had envisioned their victory would be so straight forward and powerful, but it did the job and now team JNPR can move onto the double round, and we know how dangerous Nora can be when she unleashes her true power!
