A Blessing In Disguise? Or A Curse?

As things stand, Blu will be on his way to visit the CEO at his office for an important discussion. Jewel will finally request that she meets Blu for lunch to talk about them. And Roberto will have a talk with RDJ regarding the faulty wiring at the bar. So without further ado, let's get right back to it!

The very next day was promised to be a warm and sunny day according to the weather forecast in Rio. And being a Sunday, you can't do better than going outside in the sun. Going for a swim in the sea, sun bathing on the beach. Or just fancy going to the waterfalls for a peaceful hike.

As for Blu himself, he was called into the office for a very important meeting with the CEO of the organisation.

Usually, employees would be furious if they found out they had to come into work on their day off. But with the blue macaw man, he was ecstatic to be given the chance to have a meeting with the CEO.

He got up extra early because he just wanted to forget about the events of last night.

For many, many reasons!

Not only had he ended his short term love affair with the scarlet macaw girl Katie Becker. But he had to deal with the fact that she slashed her own wrists in his apartment. Making him have to stop her bleeding out before the paramedics arrived.

Now he has an even more traumatic memory in his head on top of everything else. And it just doesn't seem to matter how much he tried to forget about it. He was still struggling to get that image out of his head.

But, he managed to put that all aside ahead of today! Because he needed to be in good shape to talk to his CEO at the company.

Blu managed to arrive at the office fairly early wearing his smartest suit he prepped especially for this meeting.

Taking the elevator up to the top floor, his cell phone had rung a couple of times. He checked to see who it was who was calling him, and it appeared to be Katie who was trying to call him.

He hung up the phone and text back saying 'In a meeting'. Just so she would understand the situation and leave him the hell alone.

But even though he text that back to her, she still tried to call him again. And again. And again.

To the point where he had to put his phone on airplane mode to avoid anyone calling him whilst he was there.

"Oh good god…Why won't she just get the message embedded into her head?" Blu groaned and rolled his eyes. Rubbing his eyes and groaning softly like he was under so much stress. Or it could have been for lack of sleep.

DING!

The elevator doors opened up to the very top floor, which opened up to a very fancy looking office.

The office itself had a glass wall view of the entire city, a large desk that had to be made of pure marble. There was a mini waterfall type fountain in the background, which could be turned on or off by the flick of a switch on the wall.

There was also a liquor cabinet filled with several bottles of the finest spirits. Vodka, Rum, Tequila, Whiskey you name it!

There was also a giant flat screen TV with various sound systems and technology that many companies struggle to have.

But because the company was the most successful sales company in South America, they have the latest version of the finest technology in the business.

"Woah! This office is the most beautiful sight that I have ever seen!" Blu remarked in wonder, as both his eyes lit up in amazement. "Besides my wife of course." He thought that last part in his head.

"And this, is something that I take great pride in!"

As soon as Blu heard a new voice enter the room, he immediately took a deep breath and stood up tall and confident.

As the person who waltzed right into the room, was none other than the CEO himself.

"Mr Carson! It's an honour to meet with you here sir!" Blu spoke in a clear and respectful manner, about to extend his hand to shake with the male brown Sparrow.

"Blu, you can call me Adam. You are a trusted member of my team, and a wonderful Office Manager." The sparrow man had light brown eyes, a brown body, a brown tail, black beak and nose. Also had light brown feathers coming out of his arms. And he was wearing a very fine three piece suit that had to be made from the finest silk. "Plus it would make me sound like I was in my fifties."

"Oh, apologies Adam." He replied and shook hands with him. Smiling at his boss with a lot of admiration and respect for his employer. "So, what can I do for you?"

"Straight to the point, eh? I like that!" Adam slapped him quite hard on the back like a man pat on the back. As men do tend to do that. But Blu was trying so hard not to act like that didn't hurt him. "You see Blu? Guys like us. We were meant to lead! We were meant to take a group of people who barely know what they are doing. And we turn them into a winning team that thrive on success and always achieve high! That's one of the many reasons why I gave you the promotion in the first place."

"Thank you Adam. I do try my best for the company and the team." Blu was sounding very calm and confident in his body language, posture, and the fact he was looking very professional.

"I should hope so! Because I actually have a very big opportunity for you. Which, if everything goes to plan, I'll be looking to expand our business to a more…Local community." Adam spike that last sentence with slight emphasis. Meaning that he already had a plan in motion for his best employee.

"Sir?" Blu rose his eyebrow in curiosity, not really understanding the meaning of what he was saying.

"The countryside Blu! The countryside has a wide variety of customers who have difficulty contacting us directly, or through email, social media, even calling in! So, I am looking to have our business grow into the local community. So we increase the amount of customers we have." Adam explained and grabbed his coffee. "That's actually the main reason why I wanted to talk to you."

"Yes Adam?" Blu nodded his head in agreement, wanting to understand what he was going on about.

"So, a little birdie told me that you are looking to eventually buy a place in the countryside?" He smiled at him, taking a sip from his coffee. "And before you ask, no the little birdie was not Tiny Trincao." (See what I did there? Tiny from the movie? XD)

"Oh, ummm. Yes! I was eventually thinking about that possibility? But, I can't afford the house that my wife wants." Blu explained and sat down on the chair opposite of him.

"That's the beauty of it! Roberto told me the house your wife wanted, and guess what?" The sparrow man tapped his hands on the chair excitedly.

"What?" He smiled at him kindly.

"I already spoke to the solicitor. And I am going to take care of everything!" Adam beamed and grabbed a bottle of rum from the cabinet.

"W-W-What? You…Are you…Are you serious?" The blue macaw with the brown eyes widened then in shock from what he just heard.

"Blu. Because of you, the company's sales have gone up 32% in the past two years. I wouldn't be able to do what I do if it wasn't for you! So it's the least I can do." Adam poured a glass of rum for both himself and his work colleague.

"Adam, this is so generous of you! But, I don't know what to say?" The blue macaw man was overwhelmed by this news.

The fact that not only will his whole house, mortgage and bills will all be taken care of. But it's the same house that Jewel so desperately wants. So this is a deal that's simply too good to refuse.

"Don't say anything Blu! Listen, there are some conditions to this deal. One, I need you to work from your home to help connect with the local community. Two, one day a week you report to me in the city regarding the weekly sales. And three, you need to choose three out of the four interns to work with you on this new project. Oh and, you'll only be working from home until the construction of the company building is done. Which should be done within the next year or so."

"Right! And, three interns? So…ummm, I'd have to fire one of them?" Blu asked in curiosity, scratching the back of his head.

"Oh no! You just tell me who you are taking, and I'm the one who fires them." Even though Adam had no idea what Blu was really thinking. He could sense that Blu felt a huge sigh of relief wash over him. "Now, I need you to tell me who you think I should fir…"

"Katie Becker!" Blu blurted out her name very quickly, and this little burst caught his boss off guard a little bit.

"Woah dude! Okay. Wow, I mean. Give me an example of why you chose her?"

"I just, don't get good vibes from her…" Blu replied like he was really hiding something.

I mean. The vibes had to have been good enough for him to fuck her for two days straight.

"Really? The people at the office seem to really get on with her." Adam responded with a curious eyebrow raised.

"She's a nice person, but as a worker I think she's not going to make it." Blu lied about her, only so that he could find a way to completely remove her from his life.

"Well, if you believe she's not the right fit. Then she's not the right fit! I'll call her up to the office now…" Adam was literally about to dial her number.

"NO!" Blu blurted out in a panic, rendering an even bigger load of confusion to surround the sparrow.

"What is wrong with you today?" Adam questioned him and out the phone down.

"I mean…Wait until I am out of the office. I think it may be best that I go and tell my wife the good news!" Blu smirked very awkwardly.

"Hey, your choice bud." Adam put his hands up in defence then he shook Blu's hand again. "Oh and by the way, when you get settled up in the countryside. Please will you have me and the wife over one evening?"

"You know it!" He beamed confidently and patted him on the shoulder.

"Well, you can go and tell your wife about your new promotion! A raise in your salary. And the fact she won't have to pay the house bills anymore."

"Thank you so much! I promise I won't let you down!" Right after he had left the office jumping for joy to go towards the elevator, Blu switched the airplane mode off of his phone.

And once he did so…his phone began blowing up with lots and lots of missed calls from Katie.

He had 34 missed calls from her. And over 14 unanswered texts.

"What the hell?" Blu began scrolling through the texts on his phone. Some of them were pretty chilled or calm. But as one text appeared after the other. They got more and more graphic as they went along.

Katie: Hey Bluey! So, ummm…I wanna say that I'm sorry for the other night. Putting you through that was not my intention. I was already in a very dark place and, when you told me you didn't want me anymore…It kinda pushed me over the edge. Can you forgive me baby?

Katie: Why aren't you answering my calls Bluey? I know that I may have scared you the other night. But, that doesn't mean you should ignore me?

Katie: You really need to answer my calls Blu!

Katie: Oh I get it…You are ignoring me because you are probably fucking your wife right now! Well, I bet she can't do all the things that I can do!

Katie: Look, I'm sorry about that last message. I didn't mean it. Can you forgive me Bluey?

Katie: I can't help it but I am so horny right now! I'm so wet just thinking about how I want your dick inside me! Please, my pussy is craving your dick!

Katie: STOP IGNORING ME! I WILL NOT BE IGNORED BY YOU BLU!

"Oh god, these messages are getting ridiculous?" Blu thought in his mind after going through half of the texts sent to him.

Katie: I'm sorry about shouting like that baby. I just want you to know how much I care about you. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me! And I am not ready to lose you.

Katie: You son of a BITCH! Ignore me?! After all the incredible sex we just had! Why can't you just accept that we were destined to be together?!

Katie: Are you mad at me? Please don't be mad at me! I promise that I will be better! I promise to give you all the sex, attention and love that your wife never gives you!

Katie: You are really starting to piss me off!

Katie: STOP IGNORING ME! ANSWER MY FUCKING TEXTS!

Katie: You can't keep ignoring me forever! Don't you realise how perfect we are for each other?

Katie: ANSWER ME NOW YOU BLUE FUCK BOY! ANSWER ME NOW!

That last text was only sent to his phone four minutes ago, so you can instantly imagine that she was having the biggest of nervous breakdowns.

"Okay…And block!" Blu went to his one and blocked the number off of his phone. Thinking nod that would be the end of it.

RING RING! RING RING!

"Oh now what?" Blu whined in frustration and answered his phone to check who was calling him. "Blu Gunderson."

"Blu?"

"J-Jewel! What, a pleasant surprise!" Blu was a little taken aback at first by the sound of her voice. But on the other hand, he was really loving the fact that she called him.

"Yeah well, I wanted to surprise you." She giggled cutely on the phone, and this light giggle really melted his heart.

"Well I am definitely surprised. In the best way of course." He replied with a lot of charm in his voice. Like he was falling in love with her all over again.

"Great to hear. Ummm, I was actually going to call you and ask if you'd like to grab some lunch with me?" She asked him sweetly.

"Of course! Yes! We can go to that Italian place that you like so much." He was so relieved that he was going to go to lunch with Jewel.

"Great! Shall we say, 1pm in front of the restaurant?"

"Looking forward to if."

"As am I!" Jewel beamed and blew a kiss into her phone before hanging up.

"Ahhhhhh…Yes!" Blu pumped his fist in the air excitedly, as he was going on a date with his wife to sort things out.

Even though in his heart he was very excited about going to see her, in his head he was terrified and overthinking. Because he was concerned that if she found out what Blu did while they were on a break. He was afraid he was going to lose her all over again.

And he wasn't going to let that happen. So maybe not telling her while they are sorting things out will make it easier. Especially since this was what he always wanted.

BZZZT BZZZT! BZZZT BZZZT!

"Oh what now?!" Blu got so frustrated that he didn't even want to check his cell phone. But, being the most curious person. He checked his phone and realised that Katie had sent him a selfie on Instagram. Wearing nothing but the pink underwear she was wearing the other night.

Katie: You can have all of this! I need you baby! I want you baby! Please come back to me my big blue man!

Blu: Katie, I'm making things right in my marriage!

Katie: But I can offer you so much more! So much more!

Blu: Goodbye Katie!

Right after this, he had blocked her off of all social media and any kind of contact with her is now completely impossible.

"Haaaa…I just hope to god that they don't run into each other…" The blue macaw man sighed in relief. Hoping that the elevator ride will be over soon.

Let's Check On Roberto…

"Alright, so it appears Mr Santos that someone had to have broken into the fuse box using a crowbar. Then they used pliers to cut the wires, and then finished it off by sparking them together to start the fire." One of the detectives from the crime scene explained the evidence to RDJ. Who was sat in the police station with a furious look on his face.

"Was there any DNA at the crime scene?" RDJ groaned and looked at the detective like he was an imbecile.

"We found no traces of DNA or evidence regarding the who. But whoever did do this, they're a freaking psychopath if you ask me."

"Great. Just what I need? Some prick on a war path trying to make me look bad!" The blue and gold macaw man groaned and laid back in his chair.

Roberto who was there as extra support patted him on the back. "Did you at least do a sweep of the area? If the locals saw anything?" The blue man asked him politely.

"Now that is the good news here. Someone did see a person running away from the scene. The build looked quite slim and they weren't that tall. For some reason it was mentioned that they are very flexible when jumping over a fence."

"Do you think it could be a trained thief?"

"Maybe. Or a hood gymnast at best." The detective joked and laughed a little bit. But he was met by unamused silence from both RDJ and Roberto. "Right…Well, we will call you if we find anything else out. But for now, I suggest you keep your head down for now."

"Thank you detective." Roberto shook hands with him and they exited the police station immediately.

However RDJ was straight out the door in a huff.

"Dude! Wait up!" Roberto followed his good friend out the door, and by the time he had caught up to him. He was absolutely furious by the lack of investigation.

"This is so unfair Roberto! I have worked so hard to get this place up and running for three years after my mom passed it onto me! And now someone destroys it, and no matter where they look, they can find the fucker who set it on fire!" He yelled in frustration and punched a wall, putting his fist straight through it.

"Wow, strong punch!" He remarked in his head when watching him do this.

"I understood that Blu has given me work. And I am very grateful for this kindness from him. It's just so annoying that these cops don't know anything."

"They are doing the best that they can. It's not like they can find a suspect in 24 hours. Otherwise the prison would be full of prisoners on a daily basis." Roberto pointed out the obvious, putting an arm around him. "Look, there's not a lot that we can do right now. So how about we go to the gym and work out? That normally cheers you up when you do a solid two hours straight in the gym."

"Yeah, I guess you're right. Maybe later when I have a clearer head space, I could think a lot clearer." The blue and gold macaw man agreed with him.

"Great! Now, let's get to the gym and do some weights."

"Sounds good"

Now Let's Check On Blu…

Moments after leaving the office, Blu had the largest smile on his beak. With warmth in his heart and a spring in a step.

He was so excited to see his wife again and did all the necessary things to get himself all sharpened up.

He went to the nearest barbers and got a fresh hair cut. He then stopped off at the fragrance store and sampled a brand new fragrance that just came out. Then he stopped off at a florist on the way to the Italian restaurant. Buying a bouquet of orchids and roses. Her absolute favourite.

Now he was waiting outside of the restaurant, holding his bouquet of flowers to give to his beloved.

He really took it upon himself to make all the effort possible to try and patch things up with Jewel.

With everything that's been going on lately, and the hidden fact that he had a fling with another woman whilst ok a break with her. The blue macaw man was finally ready to fix things!

"Well, don't you look handsome as ever?"

Blu spun around swiftly upon hearing that sweet succulent voice from none other than his beloved wife. And soon his eyes were glued to her. As she showed up wearing a white sun dress with a white orchid in her hair to match it. Along with some white high heel shoes to finish the look. She was absolutely stunning!

"Oh my goodness…" Blu's jaw dropped at the sight of her. That he was in so much awe.

"Oh stop it! It's just a sun dress I found in the closet." Jewel giggled and rolled her eyes.

"Well, you still look wonderful as always." He complimented her, presenting the bouquet of flowers to her. "For you, my one and only!"

"Awwww Blu! You really didn't have to do this!?" Jewel was so touched by the sentimental gesture of the flowers. That she had a sparkle in her eyes when he passed them over to her. "Thank you so much! They're so pretty!"

"I'm so happy you like them. I remembered what your favourite types of flowers were. And managed to get a bouquet of them in the florist nearby."

"Awww honey…Come here." Jewel leaned in and gave him a light kiss on his beak.

"So, are you ready?" He lifted his arm up like a gentleman. And in response this caused her to giggle and she took hold of his hand.

"I am indeed!" Both blue macaw took hold of each other and walked side by side into the restaurant together. To have what could be one of their most important meals and conversations in their life.

But just as they got inside…someone was sat on a park bench opposite the restaurant. Gazing through the window that was open due to the strong heat.

Meaning they had a big private view of the whole place.

That said person was sat there with a long sleeved sweater on. And they just say there staring at the whole thing. Staring at the blue macaw couple in particular.

"Hmmmm…Hmmmmm…Haaaaa…Haaaaaa…" You couldn't hear them speak. But you can hear the amount of rage that was building up inside of them.

The person who they were staring at in particular was in fact Blu. As of right now he just pulled the chair for his wife to sit down. And she giggled whilst he was being such a gentleman.

But the figure themselves couldn't help but scratch themselves deeply on their legs. Which indicated that that were the very same person who was in the bushes the other day.

They got so frustrated and upset, that they couldn't stick around and watch this for any longer. Disappearing into the night and away from the public eye.

Whoever they were…They were literally boiling with rage within them.

Ooooh, things are about to get more interesting! Blu and Jewel will be having lunch together. Roberto helped RDJ with his anger by showing support at the police station. Plus, Blu has been offered to lead a new office out in the countryside. And his house that he wants has been paid for by the CEO Adam. Not to mention that he has given Blu a significant raise. But…Katie still won't leave him alone with the constant texts and phone calls. So now he had to block her to stop him from receiving any more contact from her. I wonder how she will react! I guess we will find out in the next chapter! See you all soon.
