Okay, this is in Tigerstar's pov, might be a little short! But that's how it is! XD anyway! Back on topic, next I will either make another chapter for "Firestar's Quest" (seeing as I have been working on this a lot lately) or FINALLY get around to updating another chapter for 'Daughter of Fire and Tiger' anyway! I hope you enjoy, also went to Maggie Valley to see the Fireworks, found out that we came on the wrong day! X( anyway! Onto the chapter:
Oh, I also really love the Fern x Ivy ship! XD sure, they might be related, but aren't almost all of ThunderClan and the Clans in general? And we have to admit that they are cats. They don't really have a thing against incest and all that! Just like how Graystripe was conceived! And the age gap? Where Ivypool was a warrior while Fernsong was a kit? Sure, but what about Pine x Leopard? Or Hawk x Pebble? Or Crooked x Willow? And sure, you could say Ivypool deserves better (of course she does! She been through a lot of...crap!) but I truly found it cute in 'Thunder and Shadow' when Fernsong was being so close and considerate with Ivypool! XD and he generally had things in common with her and supportive of her and respected her choices! (although I still do ship Ivy x Hawk!)
I also want to see more Briar x Jay in the next book! (okay, maybe not cannon. But come on! You have to find them cute! Briarlight is the only cat that Jayfeather actually cares about and respects!)

The soft marsh under Tigerstar's paws made a squishing sound as he moved at the head of his patrol. His mouth opened, drinking in the scent of pine and an overbearing stench of the Thunderpath. "Yuck, I hate patrolling along the Thunderpath!" Tigerstar's son, Hawkfrost, spat from behind him, his face scrunched up in a look of disguised.
"Stop complaining and set the border already!" Hawkfrost's sister, Tawnypelt, meowed as she came up along his side. Rolling her eyes as she let out an annoyed sigh.
"Why don't you set the border?" Hawkfrost retorted, his ice-blue eyes narrowing in on his sister who scoffed back at him.
"Stop acting like it will kill you!"
"Stop bossing me around!"
"Why don't you go fall in some fox-dung."
"Shut up, Toad-brain!"
"W--"
"That's about enough from the both of you!" Tigerstar growled, rounding on his two children. "You aren't apprentices anymore, but if you keep this up then you'll be finding yourselves taking care of the elders for a moon!"
"B--" Tawnypelt had begun to protest, but a firm stare from Tigerstar got her to shut up. Although she didn't look happy.
"Hawkfrost, set the border." Tigerstar ordered, his tone of voice leaving no objection as his second born son grumbled in anger before padding over to set the marker, his face set into a look of disgust.
"You seem grumpier than usual," Tawnypelt commented as she came to walk at Tigerstar's shoulder. "Does it have to do with your visit to the Moonstone?"
It has everything to do with it! Tigerstar thought, although he wasn't going to say that. "Things haven't been going in our favor these last few days," Tigerstar replied and it was true, more Twoleg activity that drove their prey into hiding, almost having one of his apprentices carried off by an owl right in the middle of the day, signs of a fox that may or may not have gone into ThunderClan territory or possibly still in their own. and SkyClan. "But hopefully our luck will change soon."
"Pray to StarClan." Tawnypelt agreed, and for a moment Tigerstar went silent. StarClan...what have they done but lied to them this whole time? If ShadowClan's territory was destroyed would StarClan cast them out, forcing them to wander for however long to find a new home that may or may not exist? He wasn't sure on what he thought anymore when StarClan came into scrutiny. On a positive note, the thought of having his family together and happy in StarClan and being able to look upon the next generation was comforting. As though there is life after death, that he shouldn't worry for there were better things to come. On the other, how could he trust someone who lied to him? That kept him oblivious to life changing information? If StarClan could lie about this, what more truths do they conceal with deceit?
"I marked the border, we can go back now!" Hawkfrost's voice brought Tigerstar out of his musing, and so the giant tabby lead the way through the marshes towards camp.
"You can go on ahead," Tigerstar meowed as he began to slow down, not even half-way back to camp. Both Tawnypelt and Hawkfrost shared a look, before turning to look confusedly at their father. "I wish to be alone for a little while."
"Are you sure, we--" Hawkfrost choked as Tawnypelt slapped her tail into his muzzle, her green eyes, almost exactly like her mother's, shining with understanding.
"We understand, just be back before dark or else we'll send Russetfur with a search party." Tawnypelt gestured for Hawkfrost to follow, Hawkfrost didn't complain, to busy trying to hack up some of his sister's tortoiseshell fur, leaving Tigerstar to wander through the forest, no destination in mind.
He walked until he felt tired, then stopping only for a heartbeat to survey were he was. Found a clump of bush lilies to lay in, so that his dark brown tabby fur and paws would stay dry. His head rested on the buds of yellow and dark orange, he was both mentally and slightly physically exhausted. Problems pile up on each other, and sometimes he forgets the good times. But peaceful moments like this, despite the problems that still linger, he remembers….his most happiest day would have to be the day his kits were born, before that it would have to be when Firestar decided to become his mate, and before that...it seemed almost impossible to recall the times before Firestar came to the forest and changed his life forever.
He remembered as a kit, how naive he had been. How powerless he felt and even more so as he grew, he felt as if he couldn't match up fast enough to his enemies, so he trained, and trained, and trained, and trained...yet he never felt content with himself, never satisfied.
'Until a Kittypet of all cats came into my life!' Tigerstar thought with a snort at the irony. Of all cats it would be the one curious kittypet that got him, in the beginning she was everything he despised. Naive, oblivious, inexperienced, untrained, unskilled, unqualified, and ignorant of the struggles Clan cats go through, the hunger, cold and constant threat that no kittypet ever endured.
He didn't believe she would make it past being an apprentice: until she did.
She did become a warrior, and not just that a good one. She was dedicated to her training, her fierce courage and quick thinking that managed to get her through many situations. She carried herself like a true forest born ThunderClan warrior, she defied all that he expected. And that shocked and excited him. She spoke her mind, voiced her suggestions without filter, always put one-step forward when others hesitated. He was torn whether or not she was completely fearless or completely mouse-brained. It astounded him at how fast she learned, how far she would have gone for those close to her, how she selflessly saved not only Spottedleaf or Cinderpelt but also Bramblekit without any regards to her own safety or life.
She made him feel weak just as much as he felt he could move the entire Moonstone.
And then somehow, in some way, those feelings of curiosity and astonishment turned into admiration and longing. A longing of eternity by her side. One he tried, and failed, to squinch with his plans to achieve becoming leader, then she was a distraction. One he couldn't resist. Slowly in between astonishment and regrettably fear, he found that there was nothing he could do to resist the alluring charms that directed him towards Firestar.
But like all good things, it came to an end.
Although he had gained the most precious and important parts that made up his life, his family, he was still driven by his plans when he remained deputy. The attack from WindClan and ShadowClan had diminished his view on Bluestar, why keep Brokentail, a murderous villain that killed kits from his own Clan. and make enemies from WindClan and ShadowClan? Brokentail wasn't worth the effort that it took ThunderClan for defending him. Bluestar had brought that upon them, and Firestar, who was Fireheart and a heavily pregnant queen at the time. Who was carrying his kits. Had been at risk of losing both her life and the life of their children over Bluestar's mistake.
It sent his hackles up even to this day knowing how deadly a simple battle could turn.
And he decided to go through with an attack on Bluestar's life. At the time he thought it would be best for ThunderClan to have a strong leader, who made decisions that wouldn't put them in jeopardy of attack from other Clans and make them strong where as he thought Bluestar made them weak. But that turned when his own mate turned on him. He was hurt, angry, grieving, but above all he understood. Understood why Firestar had fought alongside Bluestar, defended her, and had made little to no protest with his exile.
Cause Firestar cared about ThunderClan, about her loyalty that ties to it , and most of all the importance that make up a Clan and the warrior code.
Tigerstar didn't protest at leaving, although he wanted to desperately ask that Firestar and their kits should come with him. But he didn't, what kind of life as a rough could he give Firestar and his kits? In ThunderClan, he had decided begrudgingly, they were much safer and better looked after. And another part was, he honestly was ashamed at himself, what kind of father and mate was he now that all his deeds had come to light? How could he ever regain their trust and love again?
So he strove to gain back what he had lost, although through different means. A more honest and less violent approach that lead him on the path to becoming ShadowClan's leader. As it was always prophesied.
And then through more trials, although he could never return to Firestar's side. He had gained back her respect, her trust, and dare he hope, her love. And everyday he could see her in glimpses through both Hawkfrost and Tawnypelt, and he holds them close, for they are possibly the only thing in ShadowClan that he has of Firestar and what remains of his ThunderClan family.
Slowly his inner thoughts came to a slow stop. Curling up more into the long flattened stems of the lily bushes flowers, he drifted off to sleep.
The shafts of green-leaf sun glittered off of Tigerstar's dark tabby fur where he stretched leisurely on a thick, long branch a fox-length from the ground. His eyes halfway closed due to the peaceful bliss that the calm and relaxing atmosphere did for his nevers. As if his worries were far away. A light breeze blew through, shaking a few leaves from their branches. And like a newly made apprentice, Tigerstar flicked out a paw to dab at them as they passed by, watching them flutter to the ground.
His half closed eyes gradually widened, as staring up at him was a sleek, mottled, raven-black she-cat with green eyes. Giving a surprised meow of greeting, Tigerstar in a single leap landed before his mother.
Leopardfoot in turn gave an answering purr and came to touch her nose softly to her sons. "I told you I would always be beside you."
"I know," Tigerstar replied as his mother pulled away to look him over, her green eyes shining in approval. "But why are you here?"
His mother's sober forlorn look made him straighten, whatever had brought his mother here to see him, it was important. "I wish it was just a meeting between mother and son," Leopardfoot meowed, her tone filled with sorrow. "But that's not the case."
"Then what is?" Tigerstar questioned, coming to walk beside his mother as she gestured for him to join her.
"I've heard that you finally know about SkyClan," Leopardfoot meowed, her eyes staring straight ahead, as if looking beyond the misty trees and ferns. "There was a reason that they have come to you."
"What reason is that?" Tigerstar asked, if there was any cat he could trust, it was his mother. She had always wanted the best for him, always at his side, supporting him through his kit hood and even apprenticeship.
Leopardfoot came to a halt, her ears swiveling towards Tigerstar even though her eyes could not meet his own. "As Sagewhisker has told you, SkyClan left the forest a long time ago," Tigerstar nodded, the white she-cat had said that. "But not all of SkyClan had left."
"Why?" Tigerstar asked in surprise, although a lot of reason came to mind. They could have been elderly, or sick, or kits...Tigerstar's pale yellow eyes slowly began to widen as his mother turned to look at him. A flash going through her green eyes as she realized that Tigerstar pieced things together.
"Our ancestors, a she-cat from SkyClan, was unable to go with the rest of SkyClan when fleeing the territory. So the ThunderClan medicine cat, who I don't know, offered her a place amongst
his Clan. and that is where she stayed, and raised her kits as full warriors of ThunderClan and the generations from them."
"So, you're saying we are descendants of SkyClan?" he asked it more to confirm than actually question his mother. It left his mind spinning. He wasn't entirely ThunderClan? Of course by now he believed his line was already mixed beyond just SkyClan, a kittypet father, a former kittypet-mate, a ShadowClan leader...but he never imagined that he had blood ties with the lost Clan.
"That's exactly what I'm saying." Leopardfoot replied, her eyes staring unblinkingly.
"Why was I never told?" Tigerstar suddenly asked, searching his mother's face for answers.
"I only found out when I joined StarClan," Leopardfoot admitted.
"But how did you find out?"
"The same way you are finding out, through my ancestors." at Tigerstar's baffled look, Leopardfoot elaborated. "Our ancestors walk these skies, even the SkyClan descendants. One of which is the son of the she-cat who stayed behind and joined ThunderClan. His name was Gorseclaw."
"Is he here now?" Tigerstar asked in curiosity.
"Not now," Leopardfoot shook her head. "It's through him that made my family bloodline, which made you a SkyClan descendant."
They sat in silence for a moment, allowing Tigerstar to absorb all the information his mother had given him. Then another thought come to mind. "Why Firestar?"
"Perhaps," Leopardfoot began, sounding thoughtful. "They believed that you couldn't do it alone, or, that you shouldn't have too."
"So, it seems that they believe that if one can't succeed then the other would?" Tigerstar muttered, his ear flickering in slight annoyance.
"You know what I believe?" Leopardstar murmured, flicking her tail over her son's nose to gain his attention. "That with Firestar by your side, there is nothing you both can't do."
"That's what you believe, isn't it?" Tigerstar asked softly, a feeling of accomplishment and gratitude almost overwhelming him.
"Yes," Leopardfoot meowed, just as softly. Her green eyes boring into her son's with a knowing twinkle. "I really do believe that both you and Firestar will find and help SkyClan."

And what did you think? All cannon by the way! Gorseclaw and all that! XD short, I know, probably wanted a little longer right? Well, too bad! XD
Facts:
Tigerstar loves both Tawnypelt and Hawkfrost, and is very protective of them seeing as he was the one that offered a place in his Clan, that they are his responsibility due to them being in his Clan and along with the fact that he promised Firestar he would take care of them with his life!
Leopardfoot was just as shocked as Tigerstar when she found out about SkyClan!
Leopardfoot approves of Firestar as Tigerstar's mate, even now with Firestar and Tigerstar in different Clans she still sees Firestar as her daughter-in-law.
Leopardfoot had decided to walk beside Tigerstar, one being his mother, two because she knew how much Tigerstar struggles with himself, three because she feels responsible at how he had hurt others thinking she should have raised him better, and four because her son is the most precious person to her, even more so than Pinestar.
Leopardfoot is proud of all her grandkit's, even though she regrets not being able to meet them, due to the fact that she had died so early on.
Leopardfoot is mostly found now in ShadowClan StarClan side of the territories, seeing as Tigerstar now lives in ShadowClan and so she walks with ShadowClan cats.
Nightkit and Mistkit also walk alongside the ShadowClan cats, seeing as their mother is Leopardfoot and where she goes they follow.
Nightkit (Tigerstar's sister) was the one to give him a life for 'Acceptance' during his leader ceremony.
Leopardfoot would have gotten along well with Firestar if she had lived, despite the fact that Firestar was born kittypet, the fact that she made Tigerstar happy was enough to make Leopardfoot accept her.
Maplehshade actually has a grudge against Tigerstar, the same way she does with Crookedstar, although (like Crookedstar) she tried to make him a leader through evil
means, and being rejected by Tigerstar (like Crookedstar) the reason for her grudge is that Pinestar, Tigerstar's father was the son of Oakstar, the ThunderClan leader who banished her and her kits! (Pinestar is also half-brother to both Birchface and Frecklewish)
Tigerstar may never forgive his father for abandoning his Clan, that is one thing that will never change in Tigerstar.
Tigerstar (like Hawkfrost) is a mama's boy! XD
Pinestar does not walk in ShadowClan territory like Leopardfoot and her kits, instead he stays in ThunderClan's side.
Leopardfoot and Pinestar are not mates anymore.
When Tigerstar dies, he will walk the skies of both ThunderClan and ShadowClan, being able to be with both his ShadowClan family and ThunderClan.
Well, until next time! XD REVIEW!!!!
