"You'll have to keep an eye on the apprentices training, I don't want them falling behind,"

"I understand,"

"This is mouse-brained,"

"And keep an eye on the borders, I don't want to know that any rouges or loners have been stealing our prey while I'm gone,"

"If they do, I'll personally see that they had wished they never stepped paw in ShadowClan territory,"

"This is mouse-brained,"

"You might want to have another cat to assist you, Russetfur is a good choice,"

"I was thinking the same thing,"

"This is completely mouse-brained!"

"Tawnypelt!" Tigerstar gave his daughter a withering glare, his tortoiseshell daughter had a mask of indifference settled across her face. Returning a green glare of her own. She was heavily against his leaving, his entire Clan was, he didn't go into detail, what could he possibly say beyond the will of StarClan? They wouldn't understand, not like he did. Well, it wasn't like he was personally lying to all of them. Only two other cats knew personally why he was leaving, that had been both medicine cats, Runningnose and Littlecloud, both he made sure to swear to secrecy.

"Why do you have to go?" Tawnypelt shot back, his pelt prickled as she grinded her teeth together. "You should be here, looking after ShadowClan!"

"This is a journey I take alone," Tigerstar replied coolly, his ears flickering back for a brief moment. His daughter didn't deserve to be lied to, but what more could he do? Keeping his kits in the dark about the whole thing, it just seemed safer and less complicated. "It's part of my destiny, you must understand that."

"And part of that destiny isn't telling us about it?" Tawnypelt retorted, her tail lashing behind her in frustration.

"Tawnypelt, there are many things a Clan leader knows that are not for the ears of others." Tigerstar rumbled, his eyes darkening for a moment.

"Not even to me?" Tawnypelt sounded hurt, her pelt flattening in submission.

"Not even you," Tigerstar repeated, lifting up his tail to settle on her shoulder. "But that does not mean I don't trust you."

"Even though there are secrets between us." It was a statement, not a question.

"Never doubt that I care for you, Tawnypelt, you and your brother," Tigerstar rebuked, swiping his tail across her muzzle. "But unfortunately, there are just somethings that just aren't meant to be shared."

"I suppose I understand," Tawnypelt grumbled, batting his tail away as her nose crinkled, looking like she was trying to hold in a sneeze. "But I don't have to like it."

"Never said you had too," Tigerstar remarked, turning back to his deputy he added, "until I get back, your in charge of camp, don't let me down. I trust you'll lead ShadowClan with honor and pride, don't let the other Clans think that we're weak just because I have departed. Although we've had good hunting, and a prosperous green-leaf. That still doesn't cover the fact that we're still recovering from past devastations. Like how we were when Brokenstar had been in charge, then BloodClan temporarily taking over our camp. We're also the Clan with few apprentices, I hope we can make up for that with training with the one's we have and are going to have."

"Russetfur says Cedarpaw is coming along great," Blackfoot meowed. "I believe he should be made a warrior when you return. And possibly make Smokekit and Talonkit apprentices as well."

"I'll assess him on my return," Tigerstar replied, sounding thoughtful. "As for Smokekit and Talonkit, I'm not sure how long I'll be gone."

"They won't need to be made into apprentices so soon, they still have a few more moons till they are ready." Tawnypelt pointed out.

"We'll see," Blackfoot huffed, whiskers twitching as he followed Tigerstar across camp towards the thorn tunnel that led out of camp. Tigerstar wanted to make his leaving as discreet as possible, he didn't want a show. He had already said goodbye to his Clanmates. "We'll wait for your return before any choice is made."

"Good," Tigerstar nodded, approving of his deputy's words. He could trust that his loyal deputy would take care of ShadowClan in his absence. He couldn't think of a more strong and courageous leader that he might one day make. "Then I leave the Clan too you."

"Then may StarClan light your path." Tawnypelt meowed, his green eyes glistening. She looked to be holding back a protest, this time simply giving him a nod of farewell.

"Tigerstar is leaving already!" It was Talonkit, her wail, gaining the attention of the other Clan cats who were creeping out of their nests due to her high-pitched cry.

"So much for being discreet." Tigerstar snorted, his whiskers twitching in annoyance but his eyes finding amusement in the tiny she-cats antics. Of course Talonkit wouldn't let him leave without one last good-bye.

"We're going to miss you, Tigerstar!" Poppyfrost meowed, shuffling forward with her kits in tow.

"You can't leave! Your the best leader we ever had!" Smokekit protested, his dark gray puffed out in panic.

"And Blackfoot will be just as great substitute," Tigerstar meowed, sounding reassuring. "Now, listen closely, you and your sister must watch over your mother while I'm gone. That's a big task, do everything she tells you without protest. Can you do that?"

"Of course we can!" Talonkit meowed, her white chest puffed out as she held her head high.

"Don't get into any trouble while you're out there, you won't have a patrol of ShadowClan warriors to protect you." meowed Russetfur, a glimmer of amusement glittering in her dark green eyes.

"I'll be sure to steer clear." Tigerstar meowed dryly, rolling his eye at the dark ginger she-cat.

"Be sure to come back as soon as you can, from wherever you're going." his son, Hawkfrost meowed. Shouldering Oakfur, who had been tended too not to long ago from a badger attack. They had managed to run it off in the direction of Carrionplace, it was another concern he had instructed Blackfoot to keep an eye out for.

"Good-luck, my friend." Runningnose came to the front to stand directly in front of Tigerstar, the small gray-and-white tom stretching forward to briefly touch noses with the dark brown tabby. "I pray that we will see you again soon."

"I know I will," Tigerstar replied, although a twist in his gut made him a little unsure. But he shook it away, he didn't have time for doubts now. He was going and that's that. Louder he addressed the Clan as a whole. "ShadowClan, I leave you in great care. Trust in yourselves and

Blackfoot to lead you, I'll be back as soon as I can. Do not doubt your own strength, although I may not be here in body, I will be in spirit, do your best for I will return to you all as soon as I can."

"Good-bye, Tigerstar!" Talonkit meowed, sounding more cheerful.

"Travel safely!"

"May StarClan look over you always!"

"We promise to do our best while you're gone!"

With his Clan's farewell's coming from behind him, Tigerstar disappeared through the thorn tunnel. It was time for his journey to begin, and time to join up with Firestar at Fourtrees.

I hope it was good anyway! I really wanted to show how much his Clan felt about him leaving, they don't want to see him go, but they understand! Tigerstar and Tawnypelt are awesome daughter and father! XD Tawnypelt really puts Tigerstar through his paces! Also I can't help but think Tawnypelt follows after Tigerstar a little bit! What with her going on a journey like her father later on in 'Daughter of Fire and Tiger' and also the way she acts! XD

Well enjoy! I don't really have any facts in this one! Besides that Talonkit and Shadowkit are adorable! And also a little cannon I did there with Russetfur being deputy and Blackfoot acting leader! XD I love that shipping Russet x Black! I really think they will bond over this!

Well, review! Fav, follow! XD the good stuff!
