Chapter 2
"And that's how you bend the blade."
Gendry spoke with pride in his voice as he was showing how he could now cleverly bend the iron to his will. It was soon for him to create his own armour and weapon. Yet, for Gendry, the ability to show up what he could do to someone who was actually paying attention to him was an unfamiliar experience. It was weird to have someone worrying about him. The idea of someone there for him confused and brought a warm feeling to Gendry's heart. Yet, he was still shocked by a piece of news he received. Gendry, I am your sister. The way the princess spoke to him made him feel as if she was trying to scare him or maybe to make him realize she was telling the truth.
What… you're lying. It can't be the truth! That's impossible!
Search your feelings! You know it is to be true!
The princess's speech was dramatic as if she had waited a long time to say something like that. Still, it didn't change the fact that now he knew something that a part of him wished to forget. Yet, the princess, his half-sister, told him he needed to know so that he could be careful around people. It troubled Gendry at first. But he appreciated the honesty of the princess. She didn't even have to speak to him. The princess didn't even need to come down from the Red Keep and talk to him. Yet, she does it all because she cares for him.
And that's something no one has ever done for him.
Still, the idea that he was a royal bastard was unnerving. And that his father was the king was even more so. The princess did ask him about how his perception was now that he had royal blood in him. And honestly, he wasn't hindered by it. Not in the way a normal person would. Gendry has no intention of screaming such a thing around. It was going to put a mark on his head. The princess asked him if he wanted to be king—a rather out-of-the-ordinary question to ask someone. But Gendry answered honestly.
No… I don't want to be near that thing. I am happy here.
Oh, I see… then, what do you want to be?
I… I want to be a warrior… a knight.
Then, I'll make sure you become the greatest warrior and knight in the Seven Kingdoms!
You don't have to do anything!
Too bad for you, I'll do it anyway.
Gendry did not want to be king, not at all. But he was truly happy knowing that he was related to the princess. And that he had a family member who was there for him. He was not alone. And truthfully, Gendry thought the person who could be the best ruler of the Seven Kingdoms was sitting in front of him. The princess was just different. It didn't matter if the princess was royalty. She came and walked the same dirt as everyone else. She treated everyone with respect and kindness. They played with some of the other kids, even. The children did not know who she was since she was hiding her hair and face in a rather mysterious hood. There was no one else who could help the poor like her. She could be the best queen ever. Gendry could bet his life on it.
"This is dangerous, so remember not to touch it," Gendry said arrogantly. "Only I can work with it."
Galadriel, the princess, scoffed as she was playing hot potato with a burning piece of coal in her hand.
"Well, look at me. I can touch it!" Galadriel said, smiling, to Gendry's dismay.
Gendry let a small squeal, causing Galadriel amusement. The princess then threw the piece of burning coal away with an amused face while Gendry was still having a heart attack.
"You need to stop doing that!" Gendry exclaimed quickly, still not believing what he was seeing.
"I will stop when it stops being funny," Galadriel said, smiling at the face of the young boy.
Gendry sighed as he decided not to say anything more. He would never get used to the fact the princess could do those things. But, she was half-Targaryen, so it was expected for her to share some of the same things the previous dragon lords could do. Still, Gendry wondered about what she would do when someone pointed it out.
"Sure, still, your highness. It's dangerous, so don't do it again."
"Don't call me Your Highness. We are siblings. It's Galadriel, please."
"Perhaps, but I don't think I'll ever call you by your name. Your Highness," Gendry said as he smiled teasingly.
"After all, princess or your highness sounds more fitting for you... Your Highness."
Galadriel huffed, but she couldn't help but smile at the teasing manner of the boy. He was quite charming for a ten-year-old. Maybe he got it from their father. Since Robert Baratheon was indeed very charming with the ladies and quite the man to inspire a sense of triumph when doing something, it was one of the reasons that even though he was still called the Usurper. King Stag could muster a large force to invade the Iron Island just because of his charisma alone.
Galadriel then fakes a punch in the boy's shoulder. She didn't use force at all since she could easily destroy him. And she had to make sure to show that she was just a weak little girl.
"Ow! I didn't know a princess could use violence!"
"Keep laughing, and I'll hit you for real!"
Gendry just laughed off as he continued to hit the iron. Galadriel smiled as she was just sitting on a chair, watching, intrigued by how swords were made. She was not getting bored anytime soon.
"Are you having fun, your highness?" Gendry asked while keeping his eyes on the steel before him.
"Honestly, I am. It's just… something about the noise of scorching metal. And the creation of something with your bare hands is rather mesmerizing to me."
"M-mesmeraizing? Mesm... mesmerizing?"
"Yes, mesmerizing. Hypnotizing, enthralling… something that looks amazing. Do you know? Like a sword made out of scratch. Don't you like the feeling of hitting the metal, knowing it will transform into something great? Something you made?"
"I guess?" Gendry said, trying to understand what his sister meant.
"You'll understand one day."
Galadriel said, smiling, as she was still very much entertained by the world around her. It was not perfect, and it could be deplorable, yes. But she was living a new life, so she was trying to enjoy the small thing. It felt good to just act like a normal kid for once. Well, as much as she could in anycase.
"Your Highness… when is the war going to be over?" Gendry asked, now glancing at her.
"Mm, so far, it's going well enough."
"Good enough?"
"Gendry, wars do not end in one day. It's been a few months. It takes time to move armies from one place to the next. And the last time I heard about the king. He was already sailing to the Iron Island… I think that, by nightfall, the royal forces will reach the islands, and the actual battle will start."
Gendry nodded, and Galadriel noticed the look of consternation, or perhaps it was curiosity.
"What is it, Gendry?" Galadriel looked at Gendry, who suddenly stopped his hammering.
"I just wonder… what it will be like, you know? A battle, fighting… it must be quite the sight."
"I highly doubt a battle is something to be happy for," Galadriel said with amusement.
"I know! It is just that… you know… I would like to do something with my life. Knight stuff."
"Knight stuff? What kind of knight stuff you would like to do, oh Ser Gendry?!" Galadriel said, smirking.
"Don't look at me like that," Gendry said, blushing.
"Oh, but my dear brother, I didn't know you wanted to fly away and fight evil witches and woe lady's heart!"
"I never said that!"
Galadriel had to admit it. Having siblings was one of the funniest things she had ever experienced so far. And she was having a blast.
"But you wanted to say it, didn't you?"
"By the gods, why do I even bother?"
Gendry muttered, earning a few chuckles from the princess. Gendry was a better sibling than Joffrey by a long shot. And well, Myrcella was a cutie-pie, a ball of sunshine and love. And hopefully, her upcoming sibling would be the same. Yet, there was another sibling of hers coming soon. Galadriel knew she couldn't recruit every single bastard relative lying around. Her father wanted to break Aegon the Unworthy record of how many bastard children they could have, from what Galadriel could see. And if things go out of hand, Galadriel could create her own army with only siblings in the future.
Could you at least slow down a bit? Galadriel thought, annoyed at the thought of her father and his many children. She wondered if he would sire some while away. She gagged at the thought of it.
Galadriel then heard the bells and sighed, knowing she would have to go back to work.
"Alright, I leave you be, knight-boy. Work is calling."
"Knight-boy?"
Galadriel put on her cloak and hid from the view. It was just not a normal cloak, but one very special that allowed her to move without causing more problems. She was glad. Nothing stopped her from using Yggdrasil's items.
"I'll see you later, Gendry," Galadriel said softly, smiling at her young sibling. Gendry then beamed at the words.
"Yeah… I'll see you another day."
Gendry said as he saw the princess leave quite sneakily. He could say, with happiness, that someone would be there waiting for him tomorrow. Yeah, I'll see you later… your grace. Gendry thought, finally feeling that his life had meaning. And because of that, he wanted to do something to show how much it meant to him. Gendry took a sword, one he was making, and grabbed it by the handle. He stared at the dummy before him and started hitting it repeatedly.
"I'll show you… I'll become a knight… a warrior worthy of you."
Gendry said, already preparing his path ahead of him.
Galadriel stared down from the Iron Throne, and while she was not the king or queen. She was technically the regent. So, she could sit on the ugly thing in order to deal with the many nobles who wished to speak with her as a ruler. And around her, the small council was there to assist her in any way possible. Still, the one who seemed to want to do all the talking was the queen, who had a rather arrogant smile on her face. Galadriel just rolled her eyes as she was thinking about where her beloved older brother could be—maybe torturing a baby cat or pup, getting out his frustration into innocents. Well, she doesn't care.
"Your Highness, would it be hard for the taxes on the port to decrease, to a minimum, for our family?"
The Lord said with a fake smile. Galadriel scoffed internally, knowing full well what they were thinking of. The noble's families wanted to try to take advantage of her.
"I apologize for the inconvenience, lord Chyttering. But the taxes will remain the same for all nobles."
Galadriel noticed the anger in the noble's eyes. She wanted to laugh at him, yet she kept on playing the role of the innocent kid. But she also wanted to show them that she has quite the drive not to let anyone play with her or look down on her.
"But, my lady…"
"Your Highness, my lord. You'll refer to my daughter as Your Highness," Cersei said with a sneer.
Why thank you, Mom. Galadriel thought, amused. Still, she looked around and tried to look nervous or something like that. Alright, all of you fools! Try to help you, naïve princess!
"We have set the taxes depending on the amount of gold noble families earn, and that's to all of you, my lord. You should be thankful that we haven't increased them more for you," Renly said in a teasing tone.
"But my family lives in the export of our merchandise if we pay more than the rest. It will hurt our bottom line!"
"I believe the princess' new reforms helped to remove the heaviness of the taxes for those nobles, houses who rely heavily on the trade," Petyr said, with a smile as he was already looking at the numbers increasing monthly thanks to the new and easy trade between, not only the Seven Kingdoms but with the Free Cities. She is quite smart for allowing us to create a small credit book to use and borrow and keep gold flowing. I wonder what would the Iron Bank do when they realize they are not the only ones capable of issuing gold to foreigners. Petyr, as the master of coin, could say he was very glad to see more gold coming into King's Landing. And he could see how he could use it to his benefit. Yet, he would have to find a way to be more discreet. The princess was quite good with numbers, but he will find a way. He always does.
"But it is not enough! We have to pay… this… insurance thing to our workers!"
"And that's a bad thing?" Galadriel asked, a bit annoyed. "It's part of the crown investment in order to export more, remember? The crown invests in your family business, increasing the number of your export to the Seven Kingdoms and Essos, and in return, you pay around 3.9% more taxes, and you're obliged to use that gold in order to make sure they are paid properly. That's the reason we have raised the taxes."
Galadriel drawled, as she couldn't help but feel disgusted at the noble. The 3.9% increase in taxes was nothing compared to what the family has made thanks to her new reform. And since now, they had the base in which they could create their own bank soon enough. She needs to make sure that the common folk could have the ability to create their own accounts and small businesses in order for the economy to increase. So, by paying them insurance and slowly creating a minimum wage. It was only a matter of time for the lowborn to gather their own wealth and use it in the Seven Kingdoms.
But that would take time to come to fruition, yet she had to make sure no stupid noble tried to fool the system she was slowly creating.
"My lord, your family has increased their standing by exporting. And I know the numbers you earn. And paying your workers their salary and insurance is only natural now. Travelling is dangerous, especially across the sea, and their family needs to not drown with them."
"We already pay them. Why should we give them more?"
Galadriel sighed, looking at Varys for anything. And the spymaster smiled brightly at her since he knew what she wanted him to say.
"Lord Chyttering seem to be holding a large amount of feast for his family. And as well, he has been trying to… pursue some of his workers not to put forward a complaint."
"Ah… that's…!"
Cersei chuckled mockingly as she stared at the nervous lord, showing a bit of her sadistic side.
"Are you trying to avoid paying to your workers what my daughter told them they deserved? And even trying to avoid paying taxes to the crown? You surely have some explaining to do."
Galadriel didn't know if her mother truly felt as if the common-folk deserved her insurance plans or if she just wanted to see a noble lord on his knees while trying to explain himself with pathetic excuses and other things.
"Lord Chyttering, the healthcare reform I put forward and the new taxes levy are meant to improve the quality of life of the common-folk, as well to increase the number of workers we could use in order to bring more investment here. And it is just one of many to come. Suppose you refuse to pay your taxes and give your employees their fair share. You'll be arrested for tax evasion and fraud."
Galadriel said, sounding pleased to see the faces of the surrounding people. It seems as if it was a new concept to them, or perhaps they have never used that term.
"But…! But I am a lord!"
"An arrested lord if you refuse to pay the crown taxes," Cersei said, sneering.
"This is an insult! My family has always been loyal to the king!"
Galadriel thought for a moment that perhaps it would be a good idea if she tried to act as if the noble lord intimidated her. It would make for a good show. The need to keep up the act was tiresome, and pretending she was scared and subduing could be quite embarrassing. Yet, she was preparing a stage for something big. It was a plan of hers in order to get rid of a large sum of nobles who were gaining a lot of gold thanks to her reforms. They were getting really rich lately and were trying to get more and more. It was a tale as old as time itself.
So, she needed to cut some heads in order to get them back in line and secretly get a hold of their business by having the crown take their lands as a punishment for treason. But, again. Galadriel needed to create the scene, and she would do just that. It would be easy for her to control those nobles and make them do something stupid. Galadriel was going to recreate the Defiant of Duskandale. And the noble house she would get rid of were a few. Then, after killing them. She would put new ones completely loyal to her. Galadriel would cheat, of course, but well, it was going to be fun.
And besides, some of those families were corrupt. Galadriel theorizes that Baelish would try to find a way to steal gold from the crown one way or another. And those families would be the perfect candidate to help him achieve that. As well, her spies have told her that some of those families were secretly supporting the Targaryen in exile, and now that they have more gold to give. They would be capable of creating a small army, given the time. It would serve them well. And Galadriel couldn't have that. So, she would get rid of them.
Ah, so much to do. Galadriel thought as she then sighed and tried to put on her best face. It was time to act.
"I… uh, perhaps… we could change the taxes?" Galadriel said, stuttering and anxious.
Cersei and the rest immediately saw it.
"There is nothing I would like more, my lady," the noble said with a smirk on his face. He was actually using the word lady in order to insult her. And Cersei saw it right on.
"Your Highness, my lord. I'll not repeat myself, and nothing will change. The taxes will remain the same. And if fact, I'll increase them, because if your slanders. Don't you dare to say otherwise? You're intimidating, my child."
Cersei said, and Galadriel was incredibly amused by the way her mother looked. It was as if it was an angry snake, or something, hissing each word.
"I am head of my family, your grace. I have a responsibility to take care of my family."
"Ah, yes… your family. It is quite a big family… you have a son, right? A baby boy, such a gentle creature. It would be horrible if something ever happened to him."
Oh, easy there, Mom! Galadriel thought, truly amused by how fierce Cersei could become when protecting her children.
"Are you threatening me, your grace?!"
Cersei scoffed at the lord, looking him down as if he was nothing but a worm under her feet.
"You're a lord. I am the queen. It will be wise to show some respect."
"I'll show respect when you earn it, Lannister. You're the queen, true, but you're just a woman," the Lord snapped back, and soon the throne room grew silent.
The lord quickly realised just what he had said, and soon enough, that bravery he had shown a few seconds ago began to vanish. The queen took it as he spat on her face. Cersei, the one who wanted to prove that she could lead, rule, to command respect, just like her father, Lord Tywin, hated being reminded of the fact she was a woman.
"Ser Meryn Trant! Guide this lord out of my castle!"
Cersei said, hissing in anger, as Galadriel had a funny look on her face that no one saw.
"You have until tomorrow to pay what you own to the crown... or I will throw you to the dungeons and make sure Lannister's soldier burns your home!"
Cersei yelled, and everyone stared at the queen, who seemed furious. And Galadriel was truly startled by her mother. Yet, she was entertained. The lord huffed and left while being pushed by a grunting kingsguard. He would surely regret it later, and not because of the queen, but the princess.
Galadriel faked panic, and truthfully, she was incredible please with her acting. She reached for her mother's hand and was trembling. Galadriel put on her best puppy eyes and any anger that the queen had disappeared. Cersei's heart melted at the sight of those golden eyes looking at her, and it was a reminder that her daughter was still a naïve kid.
"Did I do something wrong?" Galadriel said, with a sobbing voice.
God, I am such an amazing actress!
"Never! You hear me?"
Cersei, like an overprotective lioness, hugged her daughter. Galadriel felt embarrassed at the way the queen was behaving. It was quite the sight, sure. Yet, Galadriel was having a hard time understanding how her mother's mind worked sometimes. Cersei was very volatile. I guess I know where Joffrey got it from. Galadriel thought with a groan.
"My dear, you need to understand that we are living in the snake's den. You have to learn to mistrust everyone. Do you understand? The only person you can trust… is me. Your mother."
Galadriel wanted to gag at the clear manipulation tactic of her mother. And she could also see the faces of everyone. They were all surely thinking about how to try and manipulate her the same way her mother was doing. Galadriel was sure they would all come to her and tell them something like, you can trust me, your highness. And things like that. Still, Galadriel would take any chance to manipulate everyone from the shadows.
"I… I will, Mother," Galadriel whispered, and Cersei smiled brightly.
"Good, now… let's rest for now. And there is a lot you need to listen to."
Galadriel groaned internally, as she was already expecting what type of speech her mother would give her. But it was part of the whole act she was on right now.
Cersei took her daughter's hand and walked away. "My lords, my daughter needs to rest. She is tired."
They all bowed slightly and watched them go. And each one of them had a plan in mind in order to pursue the princess to their side.
Galadriel sighed as she stared at the morning view. The sound of distant waves and the sun coming up was beautiful. The start of the day was going to begin soon, but first, there was something she had to do. And it was to wait for her dear half-sibling to appear. Galadriel knew Baelish brought the girl from the Vale not too long ago. But she believes he wanted to manipulate her into believing it was the right thing to do. That the princess needed her and that she would be safe there. Galadriel doesn't need spies to know that Baelish expected to gain the girl's trust in order to use her later on. Well, too bad for Baelish, but Galadriel was a natural charmer.
Now that I have both oldest bastard siblings at my side. I can easily put them to use. When I become queen, I will give them a real last name. And put them in positions that will be useful. No one would dare to use them against me, especially since I'll make sure to make them loyal to me.
Galadriel smiled as she waited for the door to open, showing the servant girl, who was a spy for Baelish, approaching her.
"Barra, good morning!"
Galadriel said with her childlike voice.
"Good morning, your highness," Barra said, bowing to her.
"What is it?" Galadriel asked, faking confusion.
"Lord Baelish wishes to speak with you."
Galadriel nodded, putting on a confused face. And it took not long enough until Baelish entered the room with quite an arrogant smile. Galadriel smiled, knowing that the soldiers guarding her room were bought by him. And the kingsguard who was protecting her right now was one of many visitors of Baelish brothels. That's why he was acting in such a manner. Yet, it only increased the entertainment for Galadriel, as she wondered what type of face he would put on once he realized the truth in the future.
"Your Highness, good morning for you. Sorry for disturbing you, but I believe there is something you will love to see. A person you wanted to meet."
Baelish said, smirking. Again, Galadriel only tilted her head, wondering whatever he meant by that. It wasn't hard to do. Her cute face allowed her to make everyone feel enchanted by her.
"What do you mean, lord Baelish?" Galadriel asked again, faking confusion.
"Your Highness," Baelish said as he knelt before her. "You're an incredibly capable ruler, and I want to prove my loyalty to you. I want you to trust me… I'll earn my place. I swear to you."
Galadriel could admit that Baelish was an extraordinary actor as well. He could sound so amicable and small, allowing people not to think he was a threat. She almost believed it. Almost.
"I… I trust you, lord Baelish."
Petyr smirked and grew wider, as Galadriel could swear as if the eyes of the master of the coin were already thinking way ahead of what he could do. Oh, it will be glorious. Truly glorious; once all your plans come falling down, I will be there. Galadriel thought, smiling.
"I thank you, your highness. But it is now time to see someone you wanted."
"Someone I wanted to meet?"
Baelish smiled again and slowly approached the door, where he brought a rather nervous and anxious girl of around ten or 11 years old. Galadriel was surprised by what the girl looked like. The girl had black hair, just like Gendry, but it was short and softer. She had blue eyes that Galadriel found incredibly beautiful. And the face was covered in small little freckles, soft red lips, and cute cheekbones. The girl was adorable, in Galadriel's humble opinion. Is she the daughter of a common girl? Galadriel wondered.
"Oh…! Hello?" Galadriel muttered, a bit confused by the girl's sudden appearance, or so she appeared to be.
The princess startled the girl quickly; she bowed a bit awkwardly, not knowing how she should act.
"Your Highness…! My name is Mya... Stone…!"
Mya said, and again she looked down, blushing slightly. The princess was more beautiful than she ever thought possible. And she has heard a lot about it. Mya wasn't sure why she came. A part of her thought that maybe it was her mind wanting to be close to her father. Because Mya knows she was a bastard child of the king. It was not a big secret back in the Vale, but while she was a bit happy there. Mya always wanted to have a family, just like any other child. So, when the Master of Coin found her and told her how the princess wanted to meet her sister, it brought a warm feeling of expectation and hope that she would have what she always wanted.
Galadriel then jumped at her, hugging her tightly. Mya let a small squeal, surprised by the sudden affection coming from the princess.
"It is you! I knew you were out there!" Galadriel said with excitement.
Mya could feel the softness of the princess' skin. The smell of roses was so pleasant, and the feeling of appreciation came from her. Mya was thankful for the Lord who took care of her. And while she was still afraid of what the queen would say if she saw her around. Mya just feels right being next to the princess. It was hard to explain. But, Mya thought that if she had kept on living in the Vale, she would have become just another traveller who helped people to climb the treacherous mountains and nothing more. It was what she was already thinking. But, if she were allowed to stay, while not perfect, it would allow her to find someone she could cherish. A family. It was all she ever wanted. And before today, she was already giving up on finding something like that.
"It's me…" Mya whispered, hugging someone for the first time.
"Lord Baelish, thank you for this kindness… how could I ever repay this to you?" Galadriel said while staring at the master of coin, wondering what he would say.
"Your Highness, I am here to serve you. I desire nothing more but your trust."
Ah, I knew it. You're quite easy to read, my dear master of coin.
Galadriel thought, smirking.
"And seeing you happy makes me happy. Family is important, after all. It's something I learned while living with the Tullys."
Mm, that's something I could use. Thank you for the bit of information, Baelish.
"Nevertheless, Lord Baelish. You have done me kindness. I'll make sure to remember it. Now, before the Small Council starts. I want to spend some time with my sister."
Galadriel said, smiling, as she looked at Mya with a smile.
"Mya, my name is Galadriel Baratheon. Please call me by my name!"
Mya looked at her, baffled. "But… your Highness, that's…!"
"Please, Mya! We are sisters!" Galadriel said while taking the hands of Mya, who looked down on her since she was rather tall for an 11-year-old and whined at the sight of the cute face of the princess. She is so beautiful! Mya thought with dread.
"Oh! Yeah! We need to see Gendry!"
The princess dragged Mya away while clenching her hand. She is strong! Mya thought.
"Who is Gendry?" Mya asked.
"Our brother, of course!"
Mya looked at the back of her newfound sister and felt something inside of her. She saw the bright smile of the princess with snow-white hair. The soft hand and everything the princess represented. And Mya felt her heart beating fast. And she was not sure what it meant for her. Was she happy that she found someone who seemed to care for her? Because she found what could be her family? Or was it something else? Mya wasn't sure, but the princess's presence was making her feel something she wasn't sure of. Yet Mya was completely unbothered by it. Since, whatever it was, as long she was with the princess. Mya would be happy.
Truly, having a demoness allure was unfair and would make things complicated for Galadriel without her knowing.
Especially when it comes down to some people, but that was for later.
Gendry stared at the girl before him and sighed.
"So, you're my half-sister… I can see that," Gendry said. Mya looked at him, amused.
"Yeah… I can see… our Father's seed in both of us."
Both of them had the same hair colour, the same eye colour, and even some facial gestures. And they were both rather tall for a normal child, and while Mya was older than him. It was clear both of them overshadowed every other kid of their age.
"Fufufu, really amazing, right? I now have two older siblings! And it is your job to make me happy and love me!"
Galadriel said with a joking voice and a teasing smile. Gendry and Mya rolled their eyes, but they silently vowed to do so.
"What about the crown princes?" Mya asked worriedly.
Galadriel scoffed silently. "He is not… a kind person. And I doubt it will get better." She replied, hoping it would make it easier for them to understand how terrible Joffrey was to her.
"Oh, I didn't know that."
"Don't worry about it. He leaves me alone most of the time."
Galadriel said softly as she sat down on a bench, as Gendry sighed and kept on working with the metal. Mya was curious to see how her half-brother was doing.
"So, you're a smith?"
"Yes, quite obvious, isn't it?" Gendry said, smirking, and Mya noticed the mock tone. They were still strangers to each other, but they were still Baratheons, and they had quite a temper.
"And here I thought you were a stable boy… a cleaning boy," Mya said, with no nervousness, she had the moment she met the princess. And Galadriel was entertained by it.
"S-stable boy?! Let me tell you… I have quite the strength to knock a horse down!"
"A cat, perhaps… and an old one."
"Like you will know. I bet you have never worked in your life."
"Excuse me, but I didn't sleep in a bed made of roses! I hunt my own meal. I am an excellent shot with the spear and arrow."
"I highly doubt it."
"Want to bet it, stable boy?"
"Betting with a lady? No, m'lady."
Both were annoyed at each other, but oddly enough, they weren't necessarily angry. It was as if they knew each other for a long time. Then, they heard the princess giggling at them, and both of them looked at her and blushed as she was looking at them like a proud mother. It was weird. Galadriel could be weird.
"You two are funny."
"No, we are not!" They said.
They groaned, as they surely were never going to stop it now. "Next time, I'll make sure to bring Myrcella. She will love the both of you."
"Are you sure that is wise, your highness? What will the queen say?" Mya asked.
"Or the king…?"
"The king… will not react badly to the both of you. I know that for sure. But my mother… yeah, she will put a fit. But don't worry… I'll make sure nothing happens to either of you."
Gendry and Mya looked at each other and wondered if it would come down to something they would regret later. Yet, Galadriel seemed to know what they were thinking and quickly took both of their hands and looked at them with intensity.
"I swear it… mother will not lay a finger on either of you."
Mya and Gendry looked at each other and took a deep breath. And truthfully, they weren't concerned with their lives but the life of the princess. She was putting herself at risk of keeping them with her. And they were afraid of what could take place in the future.
"Trust me! Nothing will happen!"
Well, not really… something will happen to me, and it will be glorious! I need to prepare for that!
Galadriel thought as she was already planning how she would get rid of the nobles bothering her and keep her siblings close and polish them to be perfect pawns in the future. All part of the plan and it would allow her to set herself as the victim and the culprit of the new age of the world. And no one would see it coming until it was too late.
