Authors note: Hey guys, got another chapter for you! Sorry it took a while to come out, as I was writing it I had a massive writers block and I just didn't know how to move the story on, but I was able to figured it out and finish the chapter.

Anyways, I really hope you enjoy this chapter, reviews are always welcome!

He had to act quickly. From his place at the window he had seen Dazai hold the gun to Odasaku's head. Thinking the fight had been won, he was shocked when Oda was able to easily kick Dazai away and take his gun once more. He was even more surprised when he saw that Dazai did not get up, and instead stayed there. Doing nothing as Oda began walking towards him, gun in hand.

He realised quickly that something was wrong with Dazai, and that he needed to do something before Dazai managed to get himself killed. He looked around frantically for any way to get in. Until he spotted it. A half open window just a few feet away from him.

He ran over to it, though it stood too far off the ground for him to reach it. Aware of his time limit, he quickly made a grappling hook and grabbed onto the roof in order to lift himself up. He got through the window just in time to see Oda point his gun at the still motionless Dazai.

His appearance remained unnoticed by the two fighters, though one quick look to the side and he saw Fyodor grinning at him. He half expected the man to warn Oda of his presence. But he did nothing. He just remained standing there, watching the show like some sort of twisted conductor.

But Kunikida could not stand to waste his time figuring out the man's intentions, not when Dazai was edging closer and closer to death. With no regard for any of his own self worth, he ran towards Odasaku. Just as he was about to fire he threw himself at Oda, knocking his gun off course. The bang from the gun echoed through the warehouse.

Kunikida looked up fearfully, worried at the sight that may fall before him. All he could hope for when he looked up was that he had been successful, that he had diverted the gun far enough away so that it had not hit his fallen partner.

The relief he felt was immense, when he looked to see that Dazai was still sitting there. Still in one piece and unharmed. However his victory was quickly short lived as he felt Oda move next to him and then he suddenly felt pain erupt in his chest as he was kicked away from both of them.

He skidded across the ground until he eventually came to a stop, laying on his side. The brief spur of strength he had was now gone, he could only hope that Dazai was alright enough to be able to fight back himself, now that he had bought him some time to get up.

But he didn't move. He stayed there. Slumped over as Oda moved towards him yet again. But, in a move that surprised almost everyone there, he shot up and charged towards Oda, knocking him back.

When Kunikida looked towards Oda, his eyes sharpened at who he saw next to him. Beside Oda now stood Fyodor. He gave Kunikida no attention whatsoever, his eyes solely focused on the downed form of Dazai.

"Well that was certainly a good show. You performed well, Dazai." Spoke the sly voice of Fyodor. He was still standing next to Oda, a smirk plastered onto his pale face. "I must say, you have continued to exceed my expectations. So I feel as though you may deserve an explanation."

He didn't care for any kind of explanation. He knew why Fyodor did this. It was to mess with him. He and Fyodor were extremely similar, they were both cold, heartless, killers. But the thing that separated them was that Dazai had people that he cared about. People that Fyodor could exploit. So of course he had chosen the person Dazai arguably cared about the most.

He didn't want Fyodor to stand above him as he gloated about his victory. He could tell that Fyodor had done his research into him. He had had his record cleaned so he could join the agency in the first place. He had tried to move on from his past, just as Oda had wanted.

So he finally lifted his head up, and looked Fyodor in the eye. He was done with his games. He would no longer allow himself to be used like the puppet that Fyodor wanted him to be.

He finally raised himself from his palace on the floor, a small flow of blood falling from his mouth.

"Ahh so you can finally stand, I was worried I had broken you too soon." Fyodor sneered.

Dazai was now standing sideways as he looked towards Fyodor, while Oda remained next to him. He looked towards Oda, only to see nothing but sadness and pain in his eyes. He willed himself to look away and back to the grinning face of the man next to him.

He remained silent. He wouldn't play towards Fyodor's hand. He knew exactly what Fyodor wanted of him, but he also knew that Fyodor was aware of all of that as well. The mind games could go on forever, each of them knew the others weaknesses and their strengths. And neither of them would hesitate to use that against the other.

"Playing the silent game I see. Well I suppose I cannot blame you. It must be difficult for you to see your friend like this." As he said that he gestured towards Odasaku.

With that move, Dazai felt his anger rising, though he refused to show it on his face. He knew that Fyodor had something that he was hiding, and his silence was only going to encourage Fyodor to reveal the rest of his cards.

"I'm sure you have many questions. But, the one I bet you are most interested in... is how." Fyodor began to look up as he spoke, an almost serine look on his face. "How could this even be possible?" His gaze sharpened as his eyes looked towards Dazai yet again. And that was when Dazai saw something move behind him, as a figure soon appeared.

He was a rather tall man, dressed in simple clothes. He looked nothing like the men that Fyodor usually had working under him. Dazai continued to analyse this man even as he heard Fyodor begin to speak.

"Now this man has a very... special ability. One that is able to bring people back from the dead." His voice was now dark and cruel. "And as I have no doubt you have already guessed, he is the reason that your old friend is standing before you now."

Fyodor stepped aside in order to allow the man to stand directly in front of Dazai. Despite his rather unassuming appearance, the man had clearly defined muscles, and would no doubt put up one hell of a fight. Though he didn't strike Dazai as much of a fighter. His eyes, though far from innocent, did not possess the same crazed look that Dazai knew both he and Fyodor shared. This man was nothing more than an accomplice. Someone that Fyodor could use and then throw away like they were nothing.

But how the man fit into this play that Fyodor was weaving, was very obvious. Fyodor wanted Dazai to suffer before he killed him. As Fyodor had said before, he was bored and was constantly looking for things to entertain himself with. And it seemed that Dazai was the centrepiece of his entertainment.

"You sick bastard!" Dazai had almost forgotten that Kunikida was still in the room with them until he had heard his yell. He spared a glance back at him, just to check that he was alright. While he was knocked to the floor, he remembered the gun being aimed at his head, and hearing the gunshot, yet feeling no pain. And then the surprise he felt when he looked up only to see Kunikida there above him. Though he realised he should not have been all that surprised, he knew that Kunikida had been following him earlier.

"My, my, what a rude thing to say, I am only doing what I feel is in Dazai's best interest." His voice was drowned in sarcasm as he mocked Kunikida.

"YEAH RIGHT!" Kunikida was fully yelling now. "You're crazy!"

"Perhaps, but who is really to say who is crazy and who is not. Hmm?" Fyodor finally spared a glance towards Kunikida as he spoke, though his attention left just as soon as it had been given.

Dazai's gaze, however, remained solely on Fyodor, he was just waiting for the man to make his next move.

He hated this with his entire being. A being that shouldn't even exist right now. To have your own movements controlled by someone else was worse than any nightmare Oda could think of. Especially when that person was making you fight the people you cared about.

The fear that he had felt as he had towered over Dazai, with his hand on the trigger of his own gun. And then had been forced to watch as he shot, aimed directly at Dazai's head. The helplessness he had felt was second to none.

So much time had passed since he had been alive, he didn't know who almost anyone here was, yet there seemed to be a history between Dazai and the people around him. The blond haired one, the one he believed is called Kunikida, was the only reason that a bullet did not go through Dazai's head then and there. So for that man, Oda could not be more thankful. He was at least glad it seemed that Dazai had people that he could rely on.

However, this Fyodor character was someone Oda would kill without hesitation.

"To be honest, I thought that you might be more appreciative. Besides, I brought you the one thing your heart has desired for years now, to see your friend alive again." Fyodor spoke with sarcasm seeping from his voice, making no effort to hide his true intentions with his words. He was doing this, partly for his own amusement, and because Dazai was the only person who would be able to stand against him.

Oda spared a glance at Fyodor. The man's face betrayed none of his emotions. It was a block of ice. Cold and calculating. There was no mercy to be found in this man.

"Though it seems your little reunion is not quite what you were expecting. Such a tragedy."Fyodor was now looking down, a mock look of hurt on his face. Until it was quickly replaced with another sly smirk as he looked once more up to Dazai.

As Oda looked towards Dazai he felt the pain in his chest increase. Just thinking about how close he had come to killing him.

Suddenly, the stranger next to Oda began walking back to the direction he had come from. Oda knew that the man was simply being hired by Fyodor, as he was the only reason Oda was standing here now rather than being six feet under.

But another thing Oda knew was how that man's powers worked. He was the reason Oda was alive, so should that man die, the power that was keeping Oda alive would cease. Leaving him as nothing more than a corpse yet again.

The only way he knew this was because he had overheard the two men conversing with one another where he was being held.

So that was how he knew, or guessed, what Fyodor's plan was.

Because if that man is killed, then Oda dies with him.

Chuuya was angry. No, he was more than angry. He was downright furious. He had heard nothing since his last encounter with Dazai and he was getting very fed up with this lack of communication.

Sure there had never actually been any kind of agreement with him and the shitheads at the agency to keep him informed. But he felt it was just common courtesy. He had given them the information they wanted, and what did he get in return? NOTHING!

He had done nothing for the last few days except pace back and forth, waiting for... something!

But by now he had had enough. If they weren't going to tell him what was going on, he was just going to find out for himself, dammit. So that was how he found himself walking to the detective agency, dressed in his full Mafia suit, ready to beat someone up in order to get what he wanted.

Behind him also walked Akutagawa. Just as Chuuya had been leaving the Mafia, Akutagawa had stopped him in his tracks, and had practically demanded that he take him with him. Chuuya really didn't want to have to look after the brat, but he also couldn't be asked to fight against him. So, against his own sanity, he agreed.

They both arrived at the agency, surprisingly being met with no resistance. Chuuya simply walked forward, not caring what they would do to him at all. But when they opened the door to the main office, they were greeted with the President looking towards them, drink in hand, completely unfazed by their sudden arrival.

"It's about time you two made it." The President spoke calmly. Both Chuuya and Akutagawa looked on with undisguised shock. Out of all the things they expected to have happened, this was not one of them.

"The address you are looking for is in the envelope in front of you." He then took a sip of his drink, not even looking towards the two Mafia agents anymore.

Chuuya was the first to break out of his shocked state, as he ran forward to grab the envelope. The seal was already broken, so all he had to do was take out the paper that was inside. And what he read made his blood boil. He dropped the paper and stormed out the room.

Akutagawa, who had been standing behind him, had only been able to get a glance at the note before he was forced to follow Chuuya out the door.

All while the President remained seated, drink in hand, with a deceptively calm look on his face.

Chuuya stormed out of the Agency, and wasted no time in getting onto his motorbike. Akutagawa was forced to run to keep up, before he got left behind by the enraged executive.

The ride was short, as it was not too long until the warehouse came into view.

They were close. Yosano's driving was skilful, yet dangerous. Throughout the drive Atsushi was often worried about his life. But she got them to where they needed to be, and fast. So he guessed he couldn't complain too much.

They all got out of the car and looked around for the warehouse they knew Dazai was in. They found it almost straight away, and ran there immediately. Atsushi's hands subconsciously turning into that of the weretigers.

Despite their rush to get here, they knew they could not just barge in. Who knew what kind of traps Fyodor had laid out.

"Uhh guys, over here." Came the whispered voice of Kyoka. Both Atsushi and Yosano turned to where she was pointing, only to see two dead bodies piled at the side of the warehouse. They were both wearing the same uniform, so Atsushi guessed they were supposed to be guards, though someone had clearly already dealt with them. Whether it was Kunikida or Dazai, it didn't matter.

What did matter was finding out what the situation was. So Atsushi looked in through the windows, only to see Kunikida and Dazai fighting against at least 30, presumably guards, with Fyodor and the man Atsushi could now recognise as Odasaku, standing off to the side.

Dazai and Kunikida were doing well at holding their own, but it was clear they were both tiring, and fast. They had to get in there now!

"Dazai and Kunikida are in there!" He yelled out to Yosano and Kyoka as he ran towards the warehouse door. The two shared a brief glance before following Atsushi and helping him slide the large door open.

Some of the people fighting in the room paused momentarily to see who was at the door. Which only allowed Dazai and Kunikida to strike them from behind.

"Atsuuushiii!" Dazai called out in a cheerful tone, "So glad you could make it!"

Atsushi just watched for a moment as Dazai continued to take down his enemies, but more just kept coming in. So with no further questioning, the three newly arrived agency members joined in the fight.

Just a few moments earlier...

The atmosphere was tense. Dazai still had yet to say anything, and everyone in the room was just waiting for Fyodor to say something. As he seemed to be the only one who was willing to talk.

But in a move that surprised pretty much everyone there, Dazai was the next one to speak.

"A tragedy indeed." Dazai spoke calmly. He now stood straight as he glared waveringly at Fyodor, his eyes full of malice.

At this, Fyodor smirked. This was what he had been after. He wanted to see Dazai's fire burn one last time, before he destroyed it forever. Therefore removing Dazai as a threat to his operations permanently. While also providing himself with his own entertainment.

"As much as I have enjoyed this Dazai, I feel it is finally time to put you out of your misery."

At those words, Fyodor snapped his fingers, and doors behind him opened to reveal a large number of guards. Fyodor then pointed his finger forward as a silent command, and all the guards charged forward to attack the two agency members.

Fyodor and Oda both stepped back to the side, watching the fight unfold.

He was expecting this. Fyodor was not the type of man to fight himself, Of course he would send his lackeys to fight in his place. But Dazai's thoughts were cut off when he noticed someone charging towards him. He sidestepped in order to avoid the attack.

These people were not as well trained as he had been expecting. They were just expendable pawns that can be easily disposed of. But despite being able to defeat anyone there individually, Dazai noticed that the numbers were becoming slightly overwhelming. Even for himself and Kunikida.

As they continued fighting against the hordes of guards, Dazai noticed that while some had abilities, others did not. He then also noticed, or rather heard, the front warehouse door open. He looked over to see Atsushi, Yosano and Kyoka standing there.

"Atsuuushiii" He called out, "So glad you could make it!"
