Yuu's Act of Kindness 2
The Madam's Conflict 1
-Monster Village-
It was another day at the village as Yuu walked around, looking for someone that needed help.
Goldie: Oh my. Miss Yuu. How do you do?
Yuu turned around and saw that it was Madam Goldie calling her from her House.
Yuu: How do you do, Madam?
Yuu approached Goldie and bowed politely.
Goldie: Say, are you free by any chance?
Yuu: If it's help you need. I'm all ears. Is something the matter?
Goldie rubbed her hooves as she gave Yuu a smile.
Goldie: Perceptive as always, Miss Yuu. Something vexing just occurred to me. I'm beside myself! Lend me an ear?
Yuu could notice the angry tone in the Sheap's voice and wondered what happened to make her upset.
Yuu: Sure thing.
Goldie: You see, the Sheap Tribe owns a number of businesses in the village… Are you familiar with business rivals?
Yuu nodded as she did learn a few things about business from Miss Petra, the Hejhog Merchant.
Yuu: Are they… the same thing as any other kinda rival?
Goldie: Not them, they're not! They're constantly harassing my family! They've caused us so much pain.
Yuu stepped back as Goldie continued ranting.
Goldie: The Wolph Tribe is an unruly bunch, yet they claim THEY protect the village! Fight business with business, cowards!
Yuu: D-Deep breaths, Madam.
Hearing that, Goldie took deep breaths to calm herself a little.
Goldie: (Sigh)... Pardon me. Now, Miss Yuu… Last night, those blasted thieves made off with my most precious keepsakes!
Yuu gasped at hearing that Goldie was robbed as she ranted again.
Goldie: Horrible! They're beyond forgiveness! The mere thought is infuriating!
The Sheap Tribe Leader calmed herself again as she turned to Yuu with a smile that had a little hint of wickedness in it.
Goldie: Ah, Miss Yuu. I've a favor to ask of you.
Yuu: Oh, um… I know! You want me to bring back the stuff they stole?
Goldie only laughed at that.
Goldie: Preposterous! That alone will not suffice. You must infiltrate their territory and utterly annihilate their prized possessions!
Yuu was shocked to hear that. Goldie wants her to destroy the Wolph's possessions? But she knew that was wrong and a crime.
Yuu: Um, I don't think…
Goldie: I've already sent another agent of chaos. Rendezvous with Felicia, for further instruction on your mission.
Goldie patted Yuu's shoulders as she pushed her in the direction of the Plaza.
Goldie: I leave it in your hands, Miss Yuu! This is a deserved penance. Now crush those brutes!
Thinking about them made the Madam angry again as she ranted once more.
Goldie: Those blasted mongrels! Arrrghhh!
Yuu: Um, a-alright! Anyways, I'll go meet up with Felicia, okay?
Yuu quickly left Madam Goldie as she continued letting out her anger.
Yuu has entered the center of the Village as she searched for the one called Felicia Goldie wanted her to find.
?: Excuse me. You there!
Yuu turned to a female Sheap wearing a red scarf around her neck and was calling to her.
Felicia: Are you Yuu, by chance? My name's Felicia. I serve as Madam's 7th aid.
Yuu approached Felicia as she greeted her.
Yuu: Oh, so you're Felicia! Hey there. Yep, I'm Yuu.
Felicia: I'm sure Madam already briefed you, but let's go over it again–
However, Yuu quickly stopped her. She didn't feel okay about the Madam's plan.
Yuu: H-Hold on just a sec! When I spoke with her, she got super mad and told me to damage the Wolph's property… But it feels wrong… I can't do it.
Felicia sighed as she saw Yuu's distraught expression.
Felicia: Yeah, I expected as much, I get it. I actually was thinking you could just take back what was stolen, Yuu.
Yuu was surprised at this as Felicia said the same suggestion she told Goldie.
Yuu: Huh? That's it?
Felicia: I also disagree with using such destructive and vengeful methods. Keep that between you and me, okay?
Yuu nodded at her. Glad that Felicia also sees that the Madam's plan is wrong.
Felicia: I only want to recover the prized items in Madam Goldie's Collection. I'd prefer if her belongings could be exchanged over civil conversation, but those Wolph's won't hear it…
She looked around before approaching Yuu and whispered to her.
Felicia: Goldie's Collection was taken by the Wolphs and hidden away in one of their many Treasure Chests. It'll definitely be in one of them. Can you recover Goldie's Collection from the Wolph's, Yuu?
Yuu nodded as she quietly told her.
Yuu: If that's all, then sure! I can get it. I'll search the Wolphs Treasure Chests for Goldie's Collection!
Felicia: Thanks a bunch. Good luck out there!
With that, Yuu began her quest to search for Goldie's Collection.
-Hillside Mountain-
Yuu peeked out behind the bushes as she saw a male Wolph guarding a cave. This cave is used by the Wolph's as a storage.
Yuu: According to Miss Felicia, that Gatekeeper will get bored of guarding the entrance, so he decides to take a short nap…
Yuu whispered to herself. Just as she said the male Wolph let out a loud yawn.
Gatekeeper: (Yaaaawn)...! Time for a short nap…
The male Wolph moved to the side of the cave and then curled himself into a ball as he started to sleep.
Gatekeeper: Zzzz…
Taking her chance, Yuu silently entered the cave (with the Dragon King following her.
-Wolph's Storage Cave, Hillside Mountain-
Now inside, Yuu walked around, looking for the place where the Wolph's store their stuff.
Yuu: Where is it?
As Yuu wondered where the storage is, she didn't noticed that she was being watched from above the ceiling.
Yuu: Ah! There it is!
Yuu found the storage place, where multiple chests are lying there. Yuu looked around and opened each and every chest, searching for Goldie's Collection.
Yuu: Aha! I found it!
Yuu found Goldie's Collection. They're bands that Goldie uses to decorate her horns. Some of them have gems on it like, Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald and Amethyst. Yuu quickly put all the trinkets in her Magic Toolbox.
Yuu: Okay! Now to head back!
But just as Yuu started heading back the way she came from.
?: (Screech)...!
Yuu looked up and saw Mini Bats of the Beastie Tribe like Kiki, only they were not as friendly as him as they swarmed and attacked Yuu.
Yuu: Aaaaah!
Yuu tried to run away but they kept chasing her. Yuu had an idea as she pulled out her Stone Sword and raised it in the air. The Dragon King saw his que and breathed fire on it, spooking the Mini Bats as Yuu swung the flaming sword until they were gone.
Yuu: Phew!
Yuu breathed in relief, but then…
Gatekeeper: Who's there?!
Yuu jumped when she heard the Gatekeeper's voice. He must have woken up from his nap and heard the commotion inside the cave.
Yuu hid behind a few stalagmites as the Wolph Gatekeeper came.
Gatekeeper: Sniff! Sniff!
Yuu forgot that Wolph's have an excellent sense of smell as his nose was leading him to her location.
The Dragon King watched this and knew he had to get the Wolph's attention away from Yuu. He grabbed a rock and threw it far over a corner.
CLICK! CRACK!
Hearing that, the Gatekeeper quickly went to where the sound came from. Yuu quickly took this opportunity and hurried out of the cave (followed by the Dragon King).
-Monster Village-
Yuu arrived back at the Monster Village having completed her mission of retrieving Goldie's Collection. She searched for Felicia, and found her… talking with a young Wolp?
He has bluish-gray fur and looks the same age as Yuu. He has a white tuft of fur under his neck and has a white stripe above his nose and back. Like all Wolph's, he's wearing a light brown waist cloth.
Felicia was having a young conversation with the young Wolp.
Felicia: Hm… Wildcat was likely too embarrassed that other people might hear her. Next time, try asking her to sing while there are fewer people around, okay?
The young Wolp nodded at her.
Young Wolph: Oh, that makes sense. I'll do that! Wildcat will definitely sing then. Thanks for the help, Felicia!
Felicia: Think nothing of it.
It is then that Felicia noticed Yuu approaching them.
Felicia: Oh! You're back, Yuu!
The young Wolph noticed Yuu as well.
Young Wolp: Hm? You a friend of Felicia's? I'm Howler of the Wolph Tribe. Pleasure's mine!
Howler shook Yuu's hand which she happily shook back.
Yuu: My name's Yuu. Nice to meet you too! Anyway, I got Madam's stuff, Felicia!
Yuu brought all of Goldie's golden bands out of her Toolbox and showed them to Felica.
Felicia: Ah! Yup. It's Goldie's Collection, all right! Thank you so much, Yuu! Take this as thanks!
Felicia handed Yuu a pretty purple bracelet.
Felicia: It's an Evasion Bracelet. As its name says, it increases your evasion.
Yuu: Wow! Really? Thanks!
Yuu stored the item in her Toolbox.
Felicia: As Madam's plan for revenge goes… Just leave the talking to me, okay? I'm sure I can think up a fib or two.
This caught Howler's attention as he turned to Felicia.
Howler: Hm? Wait, are the Wolph and Sheap Tribes butting heads AGAIN?
Felicia: Yep. The bosses are the same as ever… Funny, considering us lackeys can chew the fat without a hitch…
Howler shook his head in annoyance at this as he facepalmed.
Felicia: I've been thinking up ways I could get along better with the other Wolps… But it's a bit complicated, you know?
Yuu: Yeah… Seems like it.
Yuu now knows that the tensions between the Wolph's and Sheap Tribe is pretty serious.
Felicia: It'd be great if other Wolph's were willing to hear me out, but most wouldn't give me the time of day.
Hearing that, Yuu recalled seeing Felicia having a normal conversation with Howler, despite him being a Wolph.
Yuu: You and Howler seem to get along though.
Howler: Of course! We're pals. I think it's messed up the way the adults try to stop us from getting along! I may not know a whole bunch, but I know that folks with that kinda attitude are no friends of mine!
Yuu smiled, glad that there are some Sheap and Wolph's that can get along with each other.
Howler: Anyway, don't be a stranger, Yuu. Know you can count me as a friend, too.
Yuu: Sure! You got it!
Howler was happy to hear that.
Howler: Heh, nice! Oh, but come to think of it… Why ARE our Tribes fighting in the first place? How did all this even start?
Hearing that, all three of them realized that they don't know why the two Tribes are fighting.
Felicia: Now that's a good question… I'm actually not sure myself. Hm…
Howler: I wish the adults would get along too. It's making life complicated!
With that, Yuu continued on, going to help more Monsters on the road. But she can still wonder, when will the feud between Tribes end?
-Cross-Cultural Exchange 1-
-Monster Village-
It was another day at the village as Yuu walked around, looking for someone that needed help.
Wolph Gatekeeper: Hey, you there…
Yuu looked around and saw that it was one of the Wolph's Gatekeepers that called her.
He's a black male Wolph like all the others.
Wolph Gatekeeper: Hey, Human! Argh… Human!
Yuu looked around before she pointed to herself.
Yuu: Huh? Do you mean me?
Wolph Gatekeeper: Do you see another Human? I don't know your name, so I'm calling you Human.
Yuu: I-I guess there aren't other Humans. But my name's Yuu. Nice to meet you.
The Wolph Gatekeeper gave Yuu an annoyed look.
Wolph Gatekeeper: Are you even listening to me, Human? I don't need your name. Whatever… That doesn't really matter.
Yuu didn't respond back as the Gatekeeper introduced himself.
Questor: I'm Questor, the Gatekeeper. You're helping others in need. Well? Aren't you?
Yuu: Yup, that's right! Anything you need, I can help out–
Questor interrupted her as he raised a clawed paw in the air.
Questor: Me! Here, right here! Me, me! I'm in great trouble right now! Hey, listen to me.
Yuu sweatdropped at how Questor was acting, but simply nodded and allowed the Wolph to speak.
Questor: I've been so bored lately. To break things up a bit, I went into the forest the other day.
Questor started recalling that day as he took a walk around the forest. Suddenly, a Raccoon jumped out of the bushes to attack Questor, only to be swiped away with a slap from Questor as he continued his walk, leaving the Raccoon unconscious.
Questor: Unlike you puny Humans, I'm tough. Anyway, I kept going. Thought I could reach the other side.
Questor was bored as he let out a yawn while continuing walking.
Questor: Then I saw this laying on the ground. Looked like it might've been left there intentionally.
As he shook his head to shake the sleep off, Questor suddenly saw something laying on the road and he picked it up.
Questor: Human, do you know what this is? Bet you don't! It's a Message Bottle.
Questor showed Yuu the Message Bottle, as its namesake, is a message inside a bottle.
Questor: It lets you exchange information with complete strangers!
Yuu looked at the bottle curiously as Questor continued.
Questor: Well, I found out after Grandfather Owl told me. But it's a prize, I'll tell ya that much. Inside the bottle's a paper with some message scribbled on it. But the most important parts… I couldn't read it at all! So I went to Grandfather Owl.
Yuu nodded as Questor continued his tale.
Questor: Being the old hoot he is, he figured it out. Not sure what Tribe the writer was from, but apparently it says, "Who are you?"
Yuu was now curious who the writer of the message was.
Questor: 'Course I knew exactly what to do. The message was obviously addressed to me and only me, I just know it. So I figured I'd reply to 'em. 'Cept I realized I had no way of writin' back! I'm a fighter, not a thinker.
Questor passed up and down as Yuu watched.
Questor: Anyhow, I was wracking my head over this, and I remembered the Village Weaver, Misty!
Yuu has heard of Misty. She is a Krow Weaver that also knows a little bit of Magic. Questor continued when he visited the Krow Weaver.
Questor: She's as good a Weaver as they come, and she's in the loop with the Villagers. I asked her what to 'bout the writin'. Just as I expected, Misty told me about the Heart Embroidery, that weaves feelings into fabric. Even a greenhorn like me could do it. Pretty cool, if I do say so myself. 'Cept it's kinda complicated.
Yuu was having a little hard time following as well.
Questor: Well, all I needed to know was that it was a way to speak my mind.
Questor looked around as if he was looking for someone.
Questor: Lo and behold, I've got no way to take time off my guard duties, so my hands are tied.
He scratched his head in frustration as a certain young Sheap girl with a bandana came to mind.
Questor: Wildcat's been up to no good, and we're short on hands as it is. Well forget that nitty gritty. At the end of the day, I was thinkin' about how I could make time for this message business.
Questor then turned his attention back to Yuu.
Questor: And I heard about you from the Blacksmith, and that you were helpin' people who needed it.
He then began talking to himself again.
Questor: "Fates on my side!" I figured. Human, I need your help. It's a small favor-sorta-to ask. You gotta see Misty. Ask her how to get Heart Embroidery. Once you find all the materials, bring 'em straight back to me.
Yuu knew that Misty's home isn't too far from here.
Questor: And I mean beeline back to me so I can get workin' on the Heart Embroidery.
Yuu nodded at Questor as she put her hand on her heart.
Yuu: Okay, you got it! I'm gonna ask Misty about the materials and bring them back to you!
Questor was happy to hear that.
Questor: Bingo! I can't leave my post, so I need you to do this for me. Hope it isn't too much trouble.
Misty: Oh, welcome! What can I do for you?
Asked a female Krow with misty blue feather-fingers and is wearing a misty blue see through silk scarf around her neck. This was Misty, the Weaver Yuu was asked to meet.
Yuu: Hi, there! I'm Yuu. Are you Miss Misty, the Weaver?
Misty: Yes, I am, young lady. Please, just call me Misty.
Yuu: Okay, Misty!
Misty smiled at the girl's politeness.
Misty: What a friendly little girl you are. Now, what brings you here today?
Yuu: Right! The Gatekeeper, Questor, wanted me to come and ask you about Heart Embroidery. Questor is busy, so I'm here asking how to get the Heart Embroidery materials for him.
Misty gasped a little at that.
Misty: My! I presumed he wasn't interested in embroidery, but I was mistaken! He really does seem serious about it.
Misty gave Yuu a kind smile as she began explaining about the Heart Embroidery.
Misty: I'll tell you about the Heart Embroidery. It weaves one's strongest feelings together to form a message. It's a simple Spell with simple materials. Thoughtful Thread and Papyrus.
Yuu imagined the thread and Papyrus.
Misty: Once you have those, you just have to focus on your feelings. Then thread the Thoughtful Thread through the needle. The moment the needle touches the cloth, your hand will record your feelings to create the Heart Embroidery. Your hands will work by themselves, only stopping when the embroidery is done. All that's left is to give it to someone. That person will feel what you felt, though not quite as strong. The stronger your feelings, the more they'll feel it.
Yuu was awed that a magical thread could read the feelings of others like that.
Misty: The materials can be found in the forest. Bring them to me, and I can make the Thoughtful Thread. I will need one bundle of Epiphany Grass and a Gossip Fruit that grows on ivy.
The Epiphany Grass is full white while the Gossip Fruit is round, big, and lime green.
Misty: Keep an eye out for any dangerous Monsters along the way, okay? While you're out, I shall cut the cloth and prepare the Beginner Needle. And don't worry about the payment.
Yuu nodded at her, as she had no interest in money.
Misty: I'll speak with Questor about that, so focus on gathering what I need. Did you get all that?
Yuu: Yup! I just need to get one bundle of Epiphany Grass and a Gossip Fruit, right?
Misty: That's correct! Now, do be careful.
-Hillside Mountain-
At Hillside Mountain, Yuu took a hold of the white Epiphany Grass as she stuffed them in her toolbox.
Yuu: Okay, I got the Epiphany Grass, now the only thing left is a Gossip Fruit.
Yuu went to the place where she heard that the Gossip Fruit grows. After a while of walking, she found the round and lime green fruit up ahead, and there was only one.
Yuu: There it is! The Gossip Fruit!
Yuu was about to reach the last Gossip Fruit to give it to Misty. But just before her hand could reach it…
A Rabbitrouser suddenly jumped over and snatched the last Gossip Fruit, surprising Yuu.
Yuu: H-Hey! Give that Gossip Fruit back!
Yuu began chasing after the Rabbitrouser.
The Monster was able to distance himself from Yuu thanks to his strong jumping abilities. Yuu knew she wouldn't be able to catch him. But then Yuu got an idea as she took another route.
The Rabbitrouser didn't notice that Yuu wasn't following him anymore. He was running through a narrow cannon and noticed that Yuu wasn't following her. But right when he's about to turn a corner at the end of the cannon…
WHACK!
The Rabbitrouser smacked face-first on Yuu's Wooden Sword. Yuu has explored this part of the forest and she knew the place very well, and she used that to meet the Rabbitrouser at the path she knew he would take.
The Gossip Fruit rolled of the Rabbitrouser's hands and Yuu picked it up.
Yuu: Yay! I got a Gossip Fruit!
Yuu happily twirled around before holding the fruit up in the air.
-Monster Village-
Yuu arrived back at Monster Village and headed for Misty's House.
Yuu: I'm back, Miss Misty.
Misty: Oh, welcome back.
Yuu brought out the Epiphany Grass and Gossip Fruit, showing them to Misty.
Yuu: I've brought everything you asked for, Miss Misty.
Misty inspected the 2 items with delight.
Misty: Yes, everything seems to be in order. You've done a wonderful job, Yuu! But now, I must conduct the technique in private. Do you mind waiting?
Yuu nodded at her, and Misty went inside her house to start working on the Thoughtful Thread.
Misty: It should be just a minute. I'll be back before you know it.
Yuu sat on a rock as she waited for Misty to finish her work. Yuu is a very patient child. 30 minutes later, Misty finally came out of the house.
Misty: All righty! I've finished the Thoughtful Thread. Here you go.
Misty showed Yuu the Thoughtful Thread, which is lime green and sparkling magically.
Yuu: Wow! The threading is so beautiful! It even sparkles a little. Thanks so much, Misty!
Misty: Of course, it was nothing difficult. Also, I've prepared you some other things as well.
Misty gave Yuu two yellow needles and a bundle of brown 'paper'.
Misty: These are two lace needles for beginners, and a bundle of Papyrus to perform the embroidery. I've made quite a bit here, so you can share it with someone.
Yuu: Okay! I'll give them to Mister Questor!
Misty: Please, tell Questor to be true to his feelings.
Yuu: Okay, got it! I'll be sure to tell him!
Yuu now went to deliver the items to the Wolph Gatekeeper.
Questor: Ah, Human! You're back. I've been waiting for you!
Questor was glad to see Yuu as she promised. Yuu then brought the items she got from Misty and handed them to Questor.
Yuu: Here you go! Here's what you asked for! The Thoughtful Thread, Papyrus, and two Beginner Needles too! You can make the Heart Embroidery now! Misty said you can share these with someone else too!
Yuu then started explaing how it works.
Yuu: Here's how you make it: focus on your feelings and thread the Thoughtful Thread through the needle. Then poke it into the cloth, and your hands will begin embroidering! That's really weird, right? When you're done, your hands will stop. Give it to someone, and they'll somehow feel your feelings. Misty said that you should be true to your feelings.
Questor nodded in understanding.
Questor: Hm… I see, I see.
Then he tilted his head in confusion.
Questor: I don't get it.
Yuu nearly fell at this.
Yuu: Oh no…
Questor: Oh well! I'll just give it a try. Thanks for helpin', Human!
Suddenly, he just realized something.
Questor: Hey, wait a sec… I can communicate with the person I give this to, can't I?
Yuu: Um, that's what I said earlier. Misty said– Wait, were you not listening at all?
It seems that he didn't.
Questor: I may just be a genius, after all… I've gosh-darned figured it out… All right. I'm gonna do it! When I'm done with my guard duties today, I'm gonna give it a go!
The Wolph then scratched his head as he started thinking.
Questor: But what should I say back… "Who are you" it says? "I'm a Wolph! A Gatekeeper." Sweet and simple. Okay! I'll go with that!
Questor was about to leave, until he realized something and turned to Yuu.
Questor: Oh, hold on. I haven't paid you back yet. Will this do? Humans don't need much, right?
Questor handed Yuu a green bracelet.
Questor: That's a Rebirth Bracelet. I've heard that it revives you when you're defeated or something.
Yuu: Whoa…
Yuu looked at the green bracelet in awe.
Questor: Look forward to doin' business with you again!
With that, Yuu continued on, going to help more Monsters on the road.
-The Tailor's Turmoil 1-
-Monster Village-
It was another day at the village as Yuu walked around, looking for someone that needed help.
Suddenly, she heard two desperate voices.
Male: Oh, I'm in trouble, what do I do!? Ah, big, big, big trouble! Someone, please help me!
Female: It's so busy, so very busy, anyone will do! Ah, so busy, busy, busy! I need someone!
Yuu looked around and saw a male and female Hejhog. They both wear sewing aprons around their waist and the female has a pink bowtie behind the back of her head. They were standing next to a mannequin torso as the female Hejhog was walking up and down.
Yuu: What's wrong!?
Worrying that something's wrong, Yuu hurried to them as the two turned to her.
Female Hejhog: Hm? I haven't seen you before… Who are you again?
Yuu started introducing herself.
Yuu: My name's Yuu! Nice to meet you!
Male Hejhog: Oh, how courteous. We are the Seamsters, Ned and Nary. I'm Ned, and this is–
Nary: Nary, but more importantly, we're in a bind, a huge bind! W-We won't be able to make the delivery!
Nary grabbed her head in a panic as Ted tried to calm her down.
Yuu: What delivery?
Ned: Hey, you're getting ahead, way too ahead of yourself, Nary. Don't trouble the girl, breathe, Nary.
Nary: This isn't the time! We have to hurry, really hurry to finish the Star Festival Maidens' costumes! No time!
Ned: That was much more concise, Nary.
Suddenly, Nary was silent. Yuu and Ned wondered if she's okay until…
Nary: Zzz… Zzz…
Ned sighed in relief once he saw that she just fell asleep, while still standing.
Ned: My, all that yelling must have tuckered her out. She's still standing! It's likely because she works through the night.
Yuu: Do you two need help? I'd love to lend a hand! I'm helping others in need right now.
Ned was relieved when he heard that.
Ned: Goodness! Do you mean it!? We'd love your help, Yuu! We're in so, so much trouble! Miss Yuu, have you heard of the Star Festival?
Yuu only tilted her head in confusion.
Yuu: Can't say I ever have.
Ned: It's a big, huge festival in the Village. Two Maidens are chosen by the tree in the plaza to represent the Star Festival.
Yuu knew about the tree in the plaza, since it's constantly releasing water from its branches.
Ned: At night, when the stars are near, we give each other Star Festival Starbits and watch the Maidens sing and dance.
Ned imagined the Star Festival Starbits along with the chosen Maidens wearing the costumes they made as they sing and dance.
Ned: Before the Star Festival begins, we make the Starbits from the Hunee in the Hunee Crystal Woods to exchange, Miss Yuu!
Yuu has heard of Hunee Crystal Woods. It's a place where the sweet Hunee is made.
Ned: Well, I'll spare you all the details for the time being. Our job as Seamsters is to make the costumes for the Maidens.
He pointed to the bare mannequin.
Ned: We wanted to start making the costumes, but the materials are so very rare, so special! Without them, we can't!
Yuu: What materials are you missing?
Ned: First, we'll need the base fabric for the costume! We'd need three bundles of Silver Hair to start! But only some Monsters carry the Silver Hair, so it's not a walk in the park to get.
That didn't dether Yuu, however.
Yuu: Okay! I just have to gather three bundles of Silver Hair from certain Monsters, right?
Ned: Yes, yes, thank you! I marked places on your map where you might find them. I'm counting on you, Miss Yuu!
Ned marked the Map and handed it back to Yuu as she looked at the location with a surprised look.
Yuu: Um… What Monster exactly has the Silver Hair?
-Crystal Moon Hill-
Yuu dug her hand on silver-white fur as she took some of them in hand.
Yuu: Thanks for your help, Miss Isolde.
Yuu was at Crystal Moon Hill with Isolde. Apparently, the fur of an IceStagg is what Ned and Nary need to make the costume.
Isolde: You're welcome, Yuu. I'll admit, I was surprised when you requested some of my fur, but since it's for the costumes of the Star Maiden it does make sense.
Yuu: Great! This should be enough for them!
Yuu stored all the Silver Hair in her pocket.
Isolde: The Star Festival. It's been a while since I was in one. Have you been to the Star Festival, Yuu?
Yuu: No, but I wish to be in one! It sounds fun!
-Monster Village-
Yuu returned to the Monster Village as she met back Ned and a now awake Nary.
Ned: Welcome back, Miss Yuu! You made it!
Yuu pulled out her toolbox and showed them all the Silver Hair she collected.
Ned: Look, she brought what I asked for. Just like I said she would, Nary!
Nary was speechless at seeing the fur before looking at the girl that brought it to them.
Nary: D-Did you really go out and gather all these materials just for us?
Yuu: Yup! Are these the right ones?
Ned nodded at her.
Ned: Yes! Yes! Th-These are correct! Thank you, Miss Yuu! You've helped us so very, very much!
Nary: I apologize for falling asleep when we were talking earlier. I've just been staying up late gathering materials for the costumes, so I passed out. I'm so embarrassed. But no more late nights, thanks to you! Come, let's start making the costumes! Ned! Hurry, Ned!
Nary quickly ran inside the house in a hurry, and Ned only shook his head at this.
Ned: Yes, yes, I'm coming, Nary. But before that, we must give Miss Yuu her reward.
Yuu: Huh? You don't have to give me anything.
Nary came back outside with tools in her hands.

Ned handed Yuu a small violet amulet to her.
Ned: This is a Small Amulet, it gives you resistance to ailments.

It was another day at the village as Yuu walked around, looking for someone that needed help.
Yuu went to visit Nathan and Harry. When she came, she heard the old Lizzerd moaning in hunger.
Nathan: Ah… I'm hungry again…
Yuu went towards Nathan, the Lizzerd sniffed the air as he caught her scent.
Nathan: Hm? This smell… Little Miss! You came at just the right time.
Yuu wondered what it was.
Yuu: What's wrong, Nathan?
Nathan: I'm so hungry, I started feeling sick. Little Miss, can I ask you for a favor again?
Harry rolled his eyes at Nathan being dramatic.
Yuu: Of course! Just leave it to me! What is it you want to eat this time?
Nathan: I have a hankering for something light. Now that I think about it, there's something I've always wanted to try!
Nathan began to picture it.
Nathan: It flies and is awfully hard to catch! It's shy and skilled at hide-and-seek. Truly haute cuisine! What is it?
Yuu tried to think of what Nathan is describing.
Yuu: Hmmm, is it a rare bird?
Nathan: Bzzt! Try again! Here's a hint: it loves to hide in cold places.
Before Yuu respond again, Harry stepped in.
Harry: Nathan… Is what you want to eat Flying Fish from Crystal Moon Hill?
Nathan: Haha! Spot on, Harry! You really do know me so well~.
Harry, however, let out a sigh.
Harry: But it lives in cold climates. If you bring it back to the village, it won't be as fresh as fresh-caught.

Yuu met with Idea and told him about Nathan desiring Flying Fish to eat.

Idea: Yes, yes. You just gather the materials I need to create the device.
Yuu: You got it! Leave it to me! What do I have to get?
Idea: Well then, let's draft a blueprint of the device and the materials I'll need, you see.
Idea then took out a blank paper and a pencil.
Idea: It must be compact and account for atmospheric pressure… This goes here, that goes there… Good, good.
Yuu watched from behind Idea as he was busy drawing the blueprint.
Idea: Then combine these, connect them here.
Yuu wasn't able to see the blueprint fully, but then Idea was finished.
Idea: The blueprint is complete! Now I know what materials I require, you see.
Idea showed Yuu the blueprint, and she saw an oval-shaped glass container with 2 stones on each side.
Idea: Minus the ones I have, I need… Egg-shaped Bottle, Air Stone, and Cooling Stone, you see.
Yuu awed at how little the items needed for the invention is.
Yuu: Whoa! You just need those three items? Inventors are amazing!
Idea: Indeed we are, you see. I am a genius, you see, so this is trivial for me. I've seen the materials before. I've placed a map marker on the location I believe them to be, you see.
He marked the locations on Yuu's Map, which is in Crystal Moon Hill.
Idea: Now then, I am rather looking forward to your return, you see.
With that, Yuu went to search for the items Idea needed for his invention.

Yuu found the Egg-Shaped Bottle at Grandfather Owl's nest, greeting the Snowy Owl who greeted back.
She then found the Cooling Stone near Rocky's Home, feeling the cool breeze emanating from it.
And lastly, she found the Air Stone. It was as light as air in her hands and wind emanated from it.
-Monster Village-
Yuu was back at the Monster Village as she showed Idea the 3 items she gathered.
Yuu: 1 Egg-Shaped Bottle, 1 Cooling Stone, and 1 Air Stone!
Idea examined the items with interest.
Idea: I see, I see! Hmmm! What exquisite materials! I expected nothing less, Miss Yuu.
Yuu: Really? Hehe, you think so? I'm glad!
Idea quickly took the 3 materials from Yuu's hands.
Idea: Pardon my haste, but I shall begin right away. I can bear the suspense no longer, you see!
Idea immediately went inside his workshop and Yuu heard him working.
Idea: This empty bottle shall be the base! Shake it about, reform the structure for the Fish to enter, glue together the return mechanism to secure it… All right, that should do it.
A whirring sound was heard.
Idea: Now just to place the lid, and insert both the Cooling Stone and the Air Stone. That should take care of the air flow.
A few clanking sounds followed.
Idea: I understand, you see. The cold air from the Cooling Stone, and the Air Stone to circulate the air flow.
Sounds of little rocks hitting together was heard next.
Idea: Now let's see if there are any leaks.
More whirring sounds were heard.
Idea: Ah, as expected of a genius like me. All it took was a single attempt. My genius is impalpable, you see.
The sound of glass breaking came next, making Yuu jump.
Idea: And lastly, we'll use natural energy to power it. By converting the energy supply… Voila!
Idea came out with his finished invention.
Idea's new invention is the Egg-Shaped Bottle with a contraption on its side. The Cooling Stone was on the bottom of the bottle. At the top there was an opening connected to a lid with the Air Stone attached on it.
Yuu: Th-That was fast! You're done already? You really are a genius, Idea!
Idea: Only with my ingenuity will such complex devices be manufactured so quickly, you see.
Idea handed Yuu the invention.
Yuu: Thanks, Idea! I'll try using it right away!
Before Yuu could leave, Idea stopped her.
Idea: Miss Yuu, do listen carefully. I will now explain to you the capturing strategy, you see.
Yuu: Strategy?
Idea nodded as he started explaining.
Idea: Yes, this device is merely to help capture the Fish. You must choose a location to set it up, or else it will not work properly, you see. Therefore, go to this area and install it there.
Idea took Yuu's map as he pointed in a certain location in the Blizzard Forest.
Idea: First, head to Crystal Moon Hill. Then head deep into the forest, somewhere high in elevation. Be sure to install it in the grass where the Fish is most likely to hide. Finally, leave the spot and wander elsewhere for a time. After a while, check on the device. If it went swimmingly, you will return to find Fish swimming in the device, you see. They are quite skittish, so once they sense you, they will quickly flee into the sky. So be cautious when approaching, do you understand?
Yuu tilted her head at that very long explanation.

Yuu arrived at the tallest spot in the Blizzard Forest and put the Egg-Shaped Bottle in place.

Later, Yuu went back to where she put the bottle, and found that it was closed with small Fishes swimming inside, even though there was no water in it.
-Monster Village-
Yuu returned to Monster Village with the bottle filled Flying Fishes inside and headed towards Nathan, who then noticed her.
Nathan: Oh! What are you carrying there, little Miss? What could it be, what could it be?
Yuu lifted up the bottle, showing to an impressed Harry and Nathan the Flying Fishes inside.
Harry: Wow! You really did catch the Flying Fish alive! Outstanding!
Yuu handed the bottle with the Flying Fishes to Nathan, who looked at them hungrily.
Nathan: Well let's not hesitate, let's dig in! Mmm, I'm so hungry!
Harry was surprised to hear that Nathan was going to eat it now without preparing it.
Harry: Huh? You don't need to cook it first?
Nathan: Cook it? No, no, eating it raw is how you're supposed to savor it! C'mon, you guys dig in too!
Nathan opened up the bottle and handed both Yuu and Harry a Flying Fish as it wiggled in their fingers. The two weren't sure about eating raw Fish, but Harry put on a forced smile.
Harry: Y-Yuu worked pretty hard to deliver this to you, Nathan, so you should enjoy it yourself, Nathan. You'd like that too, right, Yuu? And you must be hungry, Nathan.
Yuu knew what Harry was trying to do.
Yuu: If Nathan is that hungry, then he should have it all to himself! Besides, I caught them for you!
They both wanted to give Nathan their Flying Fish.
Nathan: Oh? May I? How kind of you two~. I am graciously moved!
He took both Flying Fish and he looked at all three of them with hunger.
Nathan: I guess I'll just help myself… Aaah~.
Nathan opened his jaws wide and put the Flying Fishes in his mouth, leaving their wiggling tails out.
Nathan: Slurrrp!
He then slurped the Fishes fully in.
Nathan: Gulp~.
And gulped them as they traveled down his throat, before going silent, making Yuu and Harry nervous.
Yuu: Gulp…
Harry: Uh, Nathan…? How is it? The Flying Fish?
Nathan was still silent, before responding with sparkling eyes.
Nathan: I-It's amazing! Oh, you two! This is the ultimate haute flavor! It… It has no taste whatsoever!
Yuu and Harry were confused and surprised as they processed what Nathan just said that it has no taste.
Yuu: What…?
Harry: No taste!?
Nathan: And it doesn't smell either! It's divine! I never knew a tasteless Fish existed! This is a gourmet find! I'm moved! An exceptional ultra-light flavor! The rumors were true! As it is, I can eat my fill~. Haha!
Everyone sweatdropped at this, but nobody argued.
Harry: So long as Nathan is happy…
Yuu: Then all's well. I'm glad.
Nathan: Oh, that's right, here's your reward. Thank you for granting my wish.
Nathan gave Yuu a charm that's shaped as a honeycomb.
Nathan: That's a Hunee Charm. It reduces the damage when you're sticky!
Yuu didn't understand that but happily accepted the charm.
Yuu: Yaaay, thank you! Let me know when you're hungry again!
With that, Yuu continued on, going to help more Monsters on the road.
-The Lost Sno Bug-
-Rocky's Home, Crystal Moon Hill-
Today, Yuu was visiting her friend Rocky and his family as she arrived at their home. Rocky noticed and was very happy to see her and ran towards her. He stood on his hind legs as he licked her cheek.
Yuu: Hahaha! Hey, Rocky! I'm happy to see you too!
Rocky stopped as he and Yuu went towards Rocky's Mom, who greeted her.
Fox Mother: Hello there, Miss Yuu.
Yuu: Hi there! Are you feeling better now? Mrs. Rocky's Mom?
Last time Yuu was here, she and Rocky saved the Sno Fox family from a terrible sickness using the healing power of a glowing pink flower.
Fox Mother: Yes, I'm doing well. Thank you for before, Miss Yuu. It's because of you that my health has returned.
Yuu: Really? I'm glad! If you ever need help again, just let me know!
The Fox Mother was grateful to hear that.
Fox Mother: Oh, Miss Yuu, thank you… Actually, I'm not sure if I should be asking this of you, but if I may…
Yuu: Of course! Ask away!
After seeing Yuu ensuring face, the Fox Mother started explaining what's bothering her.
Fox Mother: The other day, I saw a Sno Bug stray from its flock. It looked so lonely… I couldn't bear to see it like that.
Fox Mother: Sno Bugs migrate every few months in big flocks to find new dwellings and this was one such flock. They're very delicate, so when they get separated, they eventually die from loneliness.
Yuu gasped as she closed her mouth in shock.
Yuu: That's awful! We've got to return it to its family!
Fox Mother: Yes, I would love to do that, but when I call out to it, it gets scared and runs. There's nothing I can do…
The Fox Mother turned towards one of her cubs. The youngest one, a girl cub with a flower on her head, was trying to get Rocky to play.
Fox Mother: It's so heartbreaking knowing that a family's been separated like that…
She then looked back at Yuu.
Fox Mother: If you can, would you please lead that Sno Bug back to its flock?
Yuu fiercely nodded as she put a hand to her heart.
Yuu: Sure thing! Leave it to me! I'll get that Sno Bug back to its family in no time at all!
The Fox Mother became very happy hearing that.
Fox Mother: Thank you, Miss Yuu! Rocky will bring you to where the Sno Bug is. Please you two, be careful on the way.
Rock: Bark!
Rocky reassured his Mother as he and Yuu looked at each other, happy to go on an adventure together again.
Yuu, together with Rocky as her guide, searched for the lost Sno Bug in order to reunite it with its family.
Yuu: Your sense of smell can lead us to where the Sno Bug is, huh Rocky?
Rocky: Bark!
Rocky then spotted something up ahead in the distance.
Rocky: Bark, bark!
Yuu looked up ahead and saw the lost Sno Bug. It was shivering and alone.
Yuu: There it is. Now Rocky, just leave this to me.
Rocky agreed as they didn't want to frighten the Sno Bug.
The small Beastie noticed Yuu approaching it and started getting scared.
Yuu: Don't be afraid, Mr. Sno Bug. I'm here to help.
Yuu kneeled in front of the small Monster.
Yuu: Here. You can rest under my hat. It's warm and cozy.
Yuu lifted the pot to show her cozy hair. The Sno Bug calmed down and quickly flew on Yuu's head and nestled on her hair. Yuu put back on her pot with the Sno Bug under it and turned to Rocky.
Yuu: Okay. Now let's go find its family!
Rocky nodded as they both headed towards Blizzard Forest.
-Blizzard Forest-
After pressing on through the blizzard, Yuu and Rocky finally arrived at a cave entrance.
Yuu: Is this where the Sno Bug's friends are, Rocky?
Rocky: Bark! Bark!
Rocky nodded as his Mom told him where the Sno Bug flock migrated.
But just as Yuu and Rocky were going to enter the cave, something jumped out of the snow in front of them.
Yuu: Huh?!
They were 2 Shellcrabber of the Klaw Tribe. Their rocky hides are blue and they seem to have crystals that look nearly as ice growing on them.
Yuu: Get ready, Rocky!
Rocky: Bark!
Yuu took out her Stone Sword and jumped for a Jump Slash. However, both Shellcrabbers covered themselves and Yuu hit hard on their shells. Both it and Yuu vibrated from the impact while they didn't get much damage at all.
The Shellcrabber's then attacked with their claws, but Yuu managed to block them with her sword.
Rocky then came with a Charge and tackled one of the Shellcrabber's off their feet. Yuu took this chance and did another Jump Slash on it and landed a hit.
The other Shellcrabber went to attack, but then suddenly, Rocky's fangs turned to ice and bit on the enemy, delivering an Ice Fang to Yuu's surprise.
The Shellcrabber's retreated as Yuu looked at Rocky in awe.
Yuu: I didn't know you could do that!
Rocky: Bark! Bark!
Rocky puffed his chest proudly. Yuu then faced back into the cave.
Yuu: Alright, let's go!
With no predators standing in their way, both Yuu and Rocky entered the cave.
-Cave, Crystal Moon Hill-
Yuu and Rocky searched the cave for the migrating Sno Bugs. It didn't take long as they found flock at the end of the cave.
Yuu: Phew! I made it! We made it back to your family, Mister Sno Bug!
Yuu lifted her pot, showing the lone Sno Bug to the rest its flock. It was happy to see them and fluttered to its flock, who were happy to see it okay.
Yuu: Don't wander off too far from them again, okay? Bye bye!
Both Yuu and Rocky started heading back home now that they completed their quest. The Sno Bugs watched them go.
-Rocky's Home, Crystal Moon Hill-
Yuu and Rocky made it back to the Sno Foxes home, and the Fox Mother was happy that they returned safely.
Fox Mother: Welcome back, Miss Yuu. How did everything go with the Sno Bug…?
Yuu: Everything's okay now! I got it back to its family safe and sound. Mister Sno Bug was really happy to be back!
The Fox Mother was delighted to hear that.
Fox Mother: Oh, Miss Yuu, that's wonderful! I'm glad to hear that the Sno Bug was able to return to its flock.
The Fox Mother spoke in a sad tone.
Fox Mother: It's important for family to be able to be together. I'm glad you were able to reunite them.
Rocky's ears drooped when his Mother said that. Yuu wondered if she's okay, but the Fox Mother shook it off before she could ask.
Fox Mother: Ah, that's right, Miss Yuu. Please take this as my thanks.
The Fox Mother gave Yuu a blue and white coat that makes Yuu think of chilling snow in the dark blue night.
Fox Mother: This is a Chilled Overcoat. It has the power to sometimes chill the enemies that hit you.
The adult Sno Fox handed Yuu the magical coat.
Yuu: Huh? Are you sure?
Fox Mother: It's all right! Please take it. It's a lovely thing to see a family made whole again. Thank you ever so much!
With that, Yuu continued on, going to help more Monsters on the road.
