Miko stared wide-eyed as the attacker turn out to be another malevolent spirit, and this time it was Zen Tohno's mother, and Miko became horrified as she guessed that Mrs. Tohno has somewhat made her way back here and wanted payback for what she believes was the ATTACK on her when in reality it was a pair of shrine spirits that sent Mrs. Tohno away to the afterlife.

"…influenced…Zen..."

"Want…payback…"

"Kill…you…"

As Miko slightly stepped backwards, Mrs. Tohno made her move and did a slash attack using her right hand, and Miko narrowly evaded it, but the upper right-side of her shirt was caught, ripping it along with the right side of her bra, and her right breast was grazed, resulting in a slight BLEEDING.
Miko realized that for some reason, Mrs. Tohno somewhat made her way here and now she is attacking anyone she deemed as a BAD INFLUENCE to Zen and now the 16-year old girl is in a bind as she is under Mrs. Tohno's mercy and seeing that Satoru is slowly dying from his wounds, Miko is forced to make a decision, but her musing is interrupted as Mrs. Tohno did another hand slash attack, raking Miko's chest and she is starting to bleed even more.
There Mrs. Tohno tells Miko that she must die so that her son will be OBEDIENT to her, and Miko is slowly getting horrified at Mrs. Tohno's callous actions, seeing that she doesn't care about her son at all and sees him nothing more than a tool that she can dominate with, prompting Miko to answer back, much to Mrs. Tohno's ire.
"What…?"
"You…you really are a monster…"
"How dare you..."
"You're never Tohno-sensei's mother…let alone being a horrible and useless parent…"
"DAMN YOU! ZEN HAS TOTALLY BECOME REBELLIOUS…ALL BECAUSE OF YOU! YOU ARE A VERY BAD INFLUENCE!"
"…"
"AND NOW I WILL FIX THIS ONCE AND FOR ALL! AND I WILL START BY RIPPING YOU APART JUST LIKE THOSE DIRTY CATS!"

Mrs. Tohno then lunges forward and uses her claws to slash Miko, which she managed to dodge them but then she saw Dr. Satoru laying on the ground, bleeding further, and Miko realized that she has no choice but to fight back, but then two toddlers accidentally passed by where one of them is carrying a kitten, and there the toddlers, a pair of three-year old boys, happened to be new neighbors of Zen.
They commented that they should visit Zen and ask him if he could BUILD A HOUSE for the kitten they found, which attracted Mrs. Tohno's attention, becoming more hostile upon hearing them mentioning her son, and to Miko's horror, Mrs. Tohno kills the kitten before slashing the two toddlers on their necks, almost decapitating them, yet they are killed on the spot.
Mrs. Tohno shifts her attention back to Miko and made it clear that no one will come close to Zen under her watch, and will kill anyone and everyone for doing so, including Miko.
"Kill…you…!"
"Wh-what…"
"Kill…anyone influencing Zen..."
"Eh…?"
"They…bad influence…"

Ch. 5: Akui no haha
At the other area of the city, Kyosuke Yotsuya is talking a walk, as he has free time, and the 12-year old boy sighed as he is constantly being approached Hana in regards to Miko, and he wondered if Hana would get a boyfriend so that she would spend time with her potential suitor and stop wasting her time pestering him about Miko.
Kyosuke is currently unaware of what is happening to Miko, as well as having no idea that his elder sister has a secret ability to see spirits, and right now she is embroiled in a situation with Zen Tohno's malevolent mother who is already a violent spirit that attacks anyone she perceived as a bad influence to her son's WELL BEING.
As Kyosuke approached a corner of an alley, he noticed a strange-looking item, which is identical to the Ghost Eyecon that Miko has, except that it is colored blue, and the 12-year old boy is quite intrigued about it as the Eyecon somewhat resembled a human eye, and seeing that no one else is noticing it, Kyosuke innocently picked it up, and while looking at it, he turns around, and raised an eyebrow as he saw several spirits, mostly in human-looking forms, were roaming the streets.
And some are even interacting with each other as if they are alive and doing normal day-to-day activities.
"Hey…"
"Good day…"
"Nice weather, isn't it…?"
"Want to hang out?"
"Lets have a stroll…"
"There's a karaoke bar nearby…"
"How about a strip bar…?"
"Shall we have a drink…?"
As Kyosuke looked around, he is quite bewildered at seeing more spirits roaming the streets partaking in normal activities, then he is approached by a man who appeared to be in his 40s, wearing eyeglasses, a black-colored Fedora hat, a black-colored trench coat and businessman-like clothing, while sporting a rather sinister smirk.
He discreetly tells Kyosuke that he now gained the means of seeing spirits and tells him that he also has placed himself in danger as there are spirits that attack people who sees the spirits, piquing the 12-year old boy's curiosity, as the man said that he too can see spirits, which Kyosuke began to get cautious towards the man.
"Believe me, boy…you are now in a rather precarious position."
"What?"
"Spirits tend to assault people who SEES them."
"…"
"It'd be very bad for you…"
"Are you serious…?"
"Yes. I am."
"…"
The man is identified as Chikara Saionji, and he tells Kyosuke that he can provide the younger boy a means of defending himself from attacks from a malevolent spirit, which Kyosuke stared suspiciously towards Saionji, mainly because he is a stranger, since Kyosuke normally doesn't interact with people he doesn't know, where he glared at him while asking if he really means what he said.
"So what do you say…?"
"…"
"Would you accept my BENEVOLENT offer…?"
"You can't be serious…"
"Believe me. I am offering you a chance to protect yourself…not to mention that you could gain…SPECIAL TALENTS…"
"…"
"So what do you say, boy?"
"…"

Meanwhile, Miko was backing away as Mrs. Tohno is pressing her attack, and Miko, whose upper clothing were slashed and shredded to the point where her upper body is exposed with many scratches, which her chest and breast was bleeding, realized that she needed to lure Mrs. Tohno away before more innocent lives get dragged, hence she began to ran off with a deranged, obsessed-minded Mrs. Tohno giving chase, determined to kill Miko as she blames the teen girl for causing Zen to become rebellious and disobedient, leaving the dying Satoru behind.
"Come back…! Want to kill…you…!"
"Damn…"
"Kill…anyone influencing Zen..."
"Eh…?"
"They…all are…bad influence…"
"…"
"You included…! You must…die…!"
"!"
As Miko arrived at another side of the park, she became worried upon seeing more children, mostly nursery-aged ones, are playing there with some kittens, with one adult babysitter guiding them, and as Miko decided to warn them to leave, the deranged, obsessed-minded Mrs. Tohno beat her to it by attacking the babysitter and the toddlers, causing a massacre which horrified Miko.
Mrs. Tohno complained that many people are making her pissed because of their supposed influence towards Zen due to their love for cats, and she will see to it that no one would come closer to Zen under her watch, and tells Miko that she has to die in order for Zen not to get CORRUPTED by the teen girl's perceived bad influence.
"You…must die!"
"Wh-what…"
"Kill…you…you are…bad…for influencing Zen..."
"She's crazy…"
"You…truly bad influence…to my son…!"
"Can't she leave me alone…?"
"Leave my son alone! You must die…!"
"!"
Left with no choice, Miko took out the Ore Eyecon, pressed a button, and there the hoodie jacket-like spirit came out and began to attack Mrs. Tohno by charging towards her and the blows pushes her back, and Mrs. Tohno became agitated as she tries to shove the hoodie jacket-like spirit aside to go after Miko, but the hoodie jacket-like spirit kept on attacking her as it prevented her from advancing towards Miko.
This enraged her as she managed to push the hoodie jacket-like spirit aside and lunges forward, and nearly slashes Miko as the teen girl managed to anticipate the attack and frantically dodges the assault, and she became more nervous seeing that Mrs. Tohno would not stop until she kills Miko, as the deranged, obsessed-minded Mrs. Tohno vows to kill Miko, and even threatened the Yotsuya family as she believes that they too are responsible for Miko associating with Zen, causing Miko to become worried that her family is now being considered by Mrs. Tohno to become her next target.
"Kill…you…and your family!"
"Wh-what…?"
"Kill…you...your family…bad influence…!"
"She can't be serious…"
"You…bad…your family…bad influence…"
"…"
"They must be punished…kill them…you included…!"
"!"
While horrified and almost bucking into pressure seeing that Mrs. Tohno is serious about attacking the Yotsuya family, Miko remembered what Sennin told her before, and she took a deep breath as is about to grab the Ghost-Driver out from her bag, but for some reason, Mrs. Tohno began to feel pain as she clutch her head, shaking wildly before being forced to flee.
Seeing that the coast is clear, Miko recalls the hoodie jacket-like spirit and have it return to the Eyecon, which she placed it back inside the pocket of her pants, and as she ponders on what is happening, she winced in pain as the scratches and cuts on her exposed upper body made it obvious, and Miko touched her chest and stared at her hand, seeing that she is still bleeding.
"Great...now I have to see a doctor to patch up my wounds..."
Miko then realized that Satoru is still slumped at the park, and she decided to check on him before calling for help, but then a policeman came and grabbed Miko by her wrist, saying that she is now under arrest for murder.
Miko stared wide-eyed and asked what does he mean, and the policeman pointed at the corpses of the babysitter and the toddlers, who are already dead, and that Miko is the only one here, as well as there are eyewitnesses saying that she was seen leaving while Satoru is left for dead, which Miko realized that she is being implicated for the attacks done by Mrs. Tohno.
"There's no denying. You're the culprit!"
"But…"
"You're under arrest!"
"What?"
"Anything you can and will be used against you!"
"But…"
"You have the right to remain silent!"
"Wait…!"
As Miko tried to explain, the foolish and arrogant policeman, who seemed to ignore the open wounds on Miko's exposed upper body, which is still bleeding, forcefully pinned her to the ground, held her arms behind her back and handcuffed her before forcefully dragging her away, ignoring her pleas that she is not behind the attacks.
"Like I said…there's no denying. You're definitely the culprit! No questions asked!"
"But I'm not…"
"Shut it! You're under arrest!"
"I told you that I..."
"Anything you can and will be used against you!"
"Ow! You're hurting me!"
"You have the right to remain silent!"
"Wait…!"

Hope you liked this chapter, as Miko got into an unexpected fight with Zen Tohno's mother, who mysteriously came back, and is now capable of inflicting physical harm to people, as she mortally wounded Satoru while fatally attacks a group of toddlers and their babysitter, prompting Miko, who was terrified to fight back, managing to held her on before something caused Mrs. Tohno to retreat.
Unfortunately, she is implicated by a policeman for the attacks, and since Miko can't prove that a malevolent spirit did this, she is now in a bind…
Kyosuke mysteriously gained the means to see spirits like Miko, yet he is approached by a mysterious stranger who offered to help Kyosuke in dealing with his new-found ability…
