Chapter 3 a tunnel through the hedge

but now we're finally at chapter 3, which would be Ashli's chapter 2 in the actual story, a tunnel through the hedge, all kinds of crazy things start to happen now the girls choose their bedrooms with the hound order, which is still the same in the main like it wasn't the main story Rosalind and baddie still get the secret password passageway because that's what her mother would've wanted sky still gets her glorious beautiful one big bedroom and Jane still gets her bedroom on the third floor, but you'll just have to see how that works most of the story is still the same it's just a rewritten version with their mother Elizabeth in the story that's the only difference. I hope you enjoy this chapter.
Now we begin
Now it was time for the children to go upstairs and choose their bedrooms the sisters it was time for them to choose their bedrooms now After their parents had picked their bedrooms. It was now time for the sisters to do so.
dibs' first choice sky calls out wait for sky says Rosalind Hound draws for order Sky grown. She came back down the stairs with her suitcases with her suitcase back down the stairs no fair comment to Jane. I haven't thought of it yet. That's why I get the first choice commented no hound, draws for order re-corrected Rosalind. The hound draw for the order was a special ritual for the Pinder Wick sisters.
Sky hated it. It was a stupid ritual according to her usually what they do is write names on slips of paper along with dog biscuits as snuffles along the biscuit pieces he can't help but bump into the pieces of paper. Whoever he hits first gets first choice second second and so forth.
Jane ready the paper Betty and Roslyn ready the dog biscuit guy was whispering her name over and over again and hounds ear, trying to hypnotize him but it failed it didn't work out the way he was hoping or she was hoping because as soon as he let her let Hound go, he bumped into James Paper first then Rosalind then batty skies paper he ate along with the last piece of biscuit.
Great Sky says I got last choice and hounds gonna throw up again the sisters fly up the stairs, except for Sky. The three other sisters rushed up the stairs with their suitcases.
Sky salts upset that she was given the last choice. Great I got the last choice and I'd end up with some dark ugly closet or worse yet I had to share a room with my sister. Jane, that'll be bad. I don't know which one is worse. Skye wondered.
I'd rather be in a dark ugly closet she thought be better than trying to share a room with Jane.
I didn't even share a room with Rosalind she thought or even baddie, even though she was little.
Skye's bedroom
Sky wondered what her bedroom would look like and be a dark ugly closet, but then she didn't realize this she had hoped their bedroom was beautifully painted white maybe once upon a time she lived in a bedroom like that before Betty was born and was put into Jane's room and moved in with Sky she remembered how messy Scott Jane's room was always messy with tiny tiny pieces of paper and all kinds of things, everywhere, dolls, and things.
that's the kind of bedroom she hopes to have here at least for the time being for a short time for the few few brief short weeks that they will be here months three short months they'll be here. three weeks three weeks she'll be in this but in this bedroom three weeks.
so it better be good she thought as she pondered this. Her sister Rosalyn called Down Sky Come up we've all chosen our bedrooms. Come see what we picked out for you.
When can only wish Sky thought if she went up the stairs, another suitcase.
her suitcase dragging behind her as she went up.
but when she opened the door, she was surprised.
The pretty white bedroom
as she dropped the suitcase to the floor, she gasped. This was no dark, ugly closet or no she wouldn't be sharing with any of her sisters. Either she looked around the room. It was a white, obviously painted white dresser that was bare. She wasn't gonna change anything about it she'd store the suitcase in her closet and keep the dresser top bear. No dolls, no combs and brushes no untied papers everywhere no notebooks filled with Sabrina spot Sabrina STAR stories.
it had two beds. I had one extra bed and no sister to go along with it. Great she can split up her time between the two beds.
Sunday night she'll have to switch in between.
One bad she'll sleep in Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and the other one Thursday, Friday Saturday like I said Sunday night she would have to get up and change to look like she slept there.
she opened her suitcase and found her hammer charge hat and put it on her head. It was underneath her algebra book. She was teaching herself algebra for fun. She got the book 1st and wrote down the schedule for her bed schedule one of her favorite math story problems about trains going into two different directions.
Then she put on her camouflage hat, her lucky camouflage hat the one she wore when she fell off the garage roof and not broken any boat didn't have any broken bones or anything.
miss looked one more time at her beautiful bedroom, and then she went to search for her sisters.
Searching for her sisters
Sky search
first sister Rosalind
she walked down the hallway to Rosalyn's room. She looked in. It was just a single smaller bedroom with a single window and a single bed. She saw Roslyn neatly transferring her clothes to the dresser drawers from her suitcase and said you gave me the better bedroom. I want to be closer to Betty. Rosalyn said well thanks I guess said Sky.
suddenly a pair of butterfly wings came through a closet the door opened and came batty. I just came through a secret passage. No, it's just a closet between two bedrooms, answered Sky.
It is a secret package and you can't use it as a Skogen. She saw a bedroom similar to Rosalyn's with a suitcase out open on the bed. I'm going to turn her back on the bedroom and say I'm going exploring when I come I'm busy can go you know both guy and Betty said at the same time.
baseline pulled out of the photo so I have seen that photo plenty of times. It was a picture of her mother. It is Mrs. Pinder, younger, so young and fat it was way before the sky was even born on Jane and Maddie.
everyone thought that Sky was gonna grow up to be just like her mother the blonde hair and blue eyes were the same but she didn't think she'd be pretty like that and she couldn't even picture herself smiling and holding a baby.
well, I'm gonna go search for others. OK just see what Jen is up to then I'm busy here and Maddie. Well, she said batty thanks Roslyn Sky said she left.
In search for Jane
she went up the stairs to the third floor, which was really the attic and there she found Jane I already making a mess of things.
scattered of paper and things everywhere already she probably hadn't even unpacked that sky sky was looking at Jane Jane was at herself.
The lonely boy named the author said sadly out the window Jane Sky interrupted Jane oh Sky in this the most wonderful bedroom if you like being in a Kran attic says Guy oh come on be serious. I feel like some famous author has been here before me can you feel it if I could write the best Sabrina Star book here?
Jane began again, mothering to herself about her book, unknown to him the grace Sabrina Hello Eartha Jane oh sorry sky, she said again what are you saying something?
I said I was going exploring. Do you wanna come not now? I think I'm gonna work on ideas for my book that boy at the window gave me an idea. There was no boy there. Your mind was just playing tricks on you and your imagination said sky, oh, I don't think so and I think this will be great.
I figured you wanna look around this great place or something maybe later Jane replied fine. I'm going exploring by myself if you're not coming Jane fine bye sky. Jane said she continued writing.
Then sky left
Outside the cottage
Skye went outside to see what her father and mother were up to. They were getting they were getting hound, settled in their pen and his pen now looked like a doggy paradise on the outside but Hound did not seem pleased. It had you had sticks for chewing patches of dirt for digging it looked like a dog paradise. They even had some doggy treats and hounds, their favorite food, and a fresh bowl of water.
But Home came up to the sky whimpering sorry buddy she said scratching the back of his head, not his ears. I'm going exploring. She said to her parents be careful and don't do anything stupid her mother warned her father to say something like that in Latin he said something like look before you leave and don't do anything stupid. I won't say Sky as she does.
she was just gonna do some sneak thing just for a little she just wanted to see what big states this place was.
sneaking into those gardens wasn't correct according to Harry the tomato man, but maybe he was wrong and Mrs. Tifton liked people snooping around in her gardens.
do you want around to trying to figure out a way through when she saw a hole in the hedge her sister would've thought all different things about it Jane would think it was a magic portal of some kind Roslyn would've thought of something else something like well it wouldn't be there on accident like someone used it regularly and that someone was not Mrs. Tifton.
but all the other things, she thought she just needed a tunnel of a way through the hedge and there it was she plunged through.
and now she was on the other side.
In the gardens
Sky walked around, finding a statue of a thunderbolt man standing in the middle of the driveway. They're in the lane where he saw them and she saw it.
then she saw a teenager, pulling a wheelbarrow sky couldn't get far into the gardens much until she saw him. Oh hi, he was already a friend already he waved. She waved back blue sky blue eyes sky called out before she could finish. This voice was calling out Cagney after Scott had called Cagney's. Another voice was calling Cagney's name.
Mrs. Tifton
Cagney quickly stuffed her stuffed sky into an urn nearby. It was water too fresh so she was wet. I can't let her see you as she buries herself into the urn getting all muddy and icky, but does she know?
and does she mind no Skye didn't mind being dirty she can clean her clothes later tag me the voice called again I'm coming Mrs. Tifton. She is all she heard him say, Cagney. I need to get rid of this road rosebush she said Finn rod a rosebush why he asked.
because Mrs. Robinette complained and almost ran into it with her car and ruined her precious car I'd like you to get rid of it not gonna kill it. You'll do something you'll get rid of it or else.
He started to protest, but Mrs. Tifton said no tit. She said well, and then she walked away in her high heels and spun away.
That was close
that was a close one sky said as Cagney helped her out of the urn dripping water out of her body out of her hair and buttoned clothes that were close. Tagney said she almost spotted. You need to be careful just yes I know I'll do better next time sad sky.
You better or she'll spot you and not like that you've been hanging around here not on the cottage side of the Estates rounds commented Cagney.
OK said sky I will not do that. I promise.
The rose bush
what was she all upset about anyway sky asked this family of rosebushs and said Cagney I can't just cut it down now because Mrs. Robinette doesn't know how to steer.
you can bring it over to our house and we'll take care of it. Dad our dad can take care of it for a while for you. Oh really that would be nice. Cagney commented.
my mother too she'll take care of it for you. We will help too Cagney not an agreement. OK, all right that sounds like a plan. I will bring the Finn roller brush over to your side of the estate soon to the cottage. Maybe tomorrow I will bring it over there and replant it sounds good to me.
Back to the cottage
Skye headed back to the cottage side of the hedge to the hedge to the cottage side of it to go back through the tunnel. Soon she was about to make a run for it around the thunderbolt man and bet to the hedge she was about to plunge through. when she hit someone.
Jeffrey
The sky was about to plunge right through the tunnel of the hedge when her head hit something solid she looked in a blink to surprise a boy about her age and Jane's age stared back at her. He was more Jane's age than hers 10 years old probably a 10-year-old boy stared back at her.
then the voice called out. Jeffrey is Mrs. Tifton's voice again 00 that's the dude Mrs. Tifton if she ever finds you in her garden, she'll be a mean old woman said Sky.
The voice called out Jeffrey. Oh, that's my mom. The boys said as he left.
Sky thought stupid oh no, but I'm making a bad impression. Well, I don't care about that she said as she left and went back inside the house.
We'll have to have a mop later Skye said as she went inside the house and into her bedroom and got ready for dinner And that is what she did she went in and got ready for dinner. It was time for dinner and everyone was getting ready.
her mother asked did you have a fun adventure sky sky knotted her head but then sadly looked down. Cast two at the same time. I hope you didn't do something stupid her mother said sky shook her head. No, I didn't do anything, dumb mother.
but she waved at Jane and Rosalind to have an emergency mop. She pulled them over to the side and said we're gonna have an emergency move at 8 o'clock tonight. She said to her sisters her sister was not in agreement. OK, emergency moves in your room at 8 o'clock tonight, Jane, and Rosalyn nodded.
and that's what happened but we'll get to that later. They ate dinner and everyone got ready for bed.
Also, Patty needed to take a bath, so Roslyn agreed to do it and to get Betty dressed into her mermaid pajamas take off her butterfly rings, and hang them on the bed on the closet door for for morning.
In for now
yep, I think I'm doing good here. I'm gonna take a break here now though and get ready for the next chapter which will be the moves. I know I know I added a few things that weren't in the original story, but it is a rewritten story after all and I needed to do things with her mother for skies, mother here, and there, also I wanted to show a scene of how Rosalind and Jane get sucked into her idea of having a mop. I just thought that was a good way of putting it in.
