As Alear, Kiran, and the rest of the group slowly backed away from the ominous presence of Fell Dragon Sombron, Hyacinth, in a display of reverence, knelt before the imposing entity, his actions betraying his unwavering loyalty.

Sombron, his voice resonating with an otherworldly power, addressed Hyacinth with a chilling acknowledgment. "My powers have returned, thanks to you," he declared, his words carrying a weight of ominous gratitude for Hyacinth's unwitting contribution.

In response, Hyacinth, his voice trembling with a mixture of awe and subservience, expressed his deep reverence. "It's an honor to meet with you finally, Lord Sombron," he proclaimed, his words bearing the weight of a long-held aspiration fulfilled.

A cruel grin twisted across Sombron's visage as he reveled in the resurgence of his insatiable appetite. "I still hunger for more," he declared, his words carrying an unsettling hunger for power and dominion.

Pointing a commanding finger at Alear and Kiran's group, Hyacinth presented Alear and Kiran's group in front of Sombron.

"Please, my lord," Hyacinth said to Sombron, pointing at Alear and Kiran's group. "Devour these fools."

Sombron, however, chuckled darkly as he advanced toward Hyacinth, a sinister glint in his eyes betraying his true intentions.

"Alas, I have a different meal in mind," Sombron declared, his voice carrying an air of evil intent as he laid bare his ominous designs, casting a foreboding shadow over the group's harrowing predicament.

As a sense of fear overcame Hyacinth, Fell Dragon Sombron spoke, elucidating the horrifying reality of the situation. "You see, only sovereign blood from you can quell my hunger," Sombron explained, his voice resonating with an ancient and ominous tone.

Without mercy, Sombron seized Hyacinth by the neck, asserting his dominance. "I'll devour you whole as a reward for your obedience," he declared, a chilling promise that hung heavily in the air. Hyacinth, paralyzed with terror, could only gaze in horror as Sombron, in a swift and gruesome motion, transformed into his formidable dragon form.

With a swift and decisive strike, Sombron impaled Hyacinth on the abdomen with his right claw. Elusia's tyrannical king struggled weakly as he was swallowed whole by Sombron's dragon form. Alear, Kiran, and the rest of the group could only watch in horror and disgust as the gruesome scene unfolded before them.

Breaking the heavy silence, Kiran remarked, "So, this is what the cloaked girl meant by being pragmatic."

The cruel fate that befell Hyacinth served as a stark reminder of the ruthless nature of their adversaries and the challenges that lay ahead.

Emblems And Heroes

A Fire Emblem Heroes x Fire Emblem Engage Crossover

Chapter 16: Revelations Amid Retreat!

As Alear and Kiran's group watched the scene of Sombron devouring Hyacinth in disgust and terror, the cloaked girl turned her attention towards the group, sporting a manic grin that unsettled Alear and Kiran.

Amidst the dimly lit chamber, Alfred's voice cut through the tension. "I could have sworn Hyacinth and Sombron were on the same side," he remarked, furrowing his brow in confusion.

"So, this is how Fell Dragon Sombron rewards his so-called followers," Alfonse remarked, having covered Sharena's eyes from the horrific sight.

A soft chuckle emanated from the shadows as a cloaked figure stepped forward. "Oh, did you not see the look of shock and betrayal on Hyacinth's face?" The mysterious girl's voice held a hint of amusement as she addressed Alear and Kiran's group.

As the girl lowered her hood, revealing her face, Alear and Kiran exchanged stunned glances. Alear was the first to speak, her voice tinged with disbelief. "Veyle? Is that you?"

The cloaked girl, now identified as Veyle, met their gaze with an enigmatic smile. "Surprised, are we?" she quipped, her eyes glinting mischievously.

Baldraz, the spirit residing within Kiran's Breidablik, interjected with a grave tone. "Veyle is indeed here in her physical body, but I can sense that something malevolent is controlling her soul."

Kiran's expression tightened with concern as he turned to Baldraz. "Controlling her soul? What do you mean?"

Baldraz explained, "That's why her eyes are red right now, unlike the purple ones you and Alear saw just a few hours ago. There's a force manipulating her from within."

Kiran nodded, his jaw set in determination. "Agreed. We can't let her succumb to whatever darkness has taken hold. We need to find a way to free Veyle from this influence."

The chamber echoed with a sense of urgency as Alear, Kiran, and their allies prepared to confront the mysterious force that had ensnared Veyle's soul.

Veyle's unnaturally red eyes bore into Alear and Kiran's group as she stood before them, an air of darkness surrounding her. With a formal tilt of her head, she introduced herself in a chilling tone, "I am Veyle, Sombron's daughter, the Fell Princess."

Alear's eyes widened in shock, and a pang of distress crossed her face at the revelation. "Veyle? But... why did you deceive us?" Her voice wavered with a mix of betrayal and confusion.

"Deceive you?" Veyle, her expression impassive, scoffed at Alear's distress. "I only met you and Kiran as of now, but your little group means nothing to me."

Alear, overcome with emotions, struggled to comprehend the situation. "But we saw you just hours ago, with purple eyes. Why this charade?"

As Veyle maintained her stoic facade, Kiran lightly tapped Alear's shoulder with his Breidablik. In a telepathic communication, he conveyed, "Alear, Veyle is not what she seems. There's something wrong."

Alear furrowed her brow, responding in her thoughts, "What's wrong with her, Kiran? Why is she doing this?"

Kiran explained through their mental connection, "Veyle is being controlled by something. That's why her eyes are red now, as opposed to the purple ones we saw earlier. We need to find out what's manipulating her and free her from its influence. But first, we need to retreat from Destinea Cathedral soon."

A sense of urgency settled between Alear and Kiran as they faced the enigma of Veyle, Sombron's daughter, and the dark force that gripped her soul. Determination etched on their faces, they braced themselves for the challenges that lay ahead.

Sombron's voice reverberated through the eerie atmosphere of Destinea Cathedral. "Veyle, the Four Hounds have arrived."

Alear, her curiosity piqued, spoke up. "Four Hounds? What are they?"

As if in response to Alear's question, four ominous figures emerged from the shadowy entrances of the cathedral, converging with Sombron and Veyle. The air grew heavier as Alear and Kiran widened their eyes, recognizing a familiar face among the enigmatic group—Zephia.

Zephia, with a sly grin, addressed Alear and Kiran's group in a mockingly cheerful tone. "Well, well, if it isn't the merry band of Heroes. Fancy meeting you here."

Alear's gaze hardened as she recalled a previous encounter. "Zephia," she said, her voice tinged with a mixture of frustration and determination. "I remember you from the attack at Firene Castle."

Zephia chuckled, her demeanor exuding confidence. "Ah, Firene Castle, was it? Good times. Seems like you've got a good memory."

Alear's eyes narrowed as she surveyed the Four Hounds, noting the dismay on the faces of Alfred and Celine. "What are you doing here? What's the purpose of all this?"

Zephia merely smirked, her tone dripping with mischief. "Oh, you'll find out soon enough. It's going to be a delightful reunion, I promise."

The tension in Destinea Cathedral heightened as the clash between Alear and Kiran's group and the mysterious Four Hounds seemed inevitable. The answers to their questions lurked in the shadows, waiting to be unveiled.

Zephia's smug grin persisted as she looked at Alear and Kiran, acknowledging the unspoken recognition. "Well, well, looks like you two caught on. I suppose I didn't properly introduce myself during our little tango at Firene Castle."

"If that's the case," Alear's expression hardened, suspicion evident in her eyes. "Who exactly are you?"

Zephia chuckled, her tone laced with arrogance. "I am Zephia, a Mage Dragon and a loyal servant of Lord Sombron." She gestured to the three figures accompanying her—Griss, Marni, and Mauvier. "And these fine folks are Griss, Marni, and Mauvier. We're a tight-knit group, you see. We go by the name of the Four Hounds."

Kiran, studying the quartet with a furrowed brow, remarked in his thoughts, "Zephia claims they're like family. I doubt it's that simple."

Baldraz, the spirit within Kiran's Breidablik, interjected with a note of caution. "Claims may be all they are, Kiran. The truth could be much more complex."

The scrawny man, identified as Griss, sneered at Zephia's notion of family. "Family? Please, Zephia, you're a dragon. We're just humans. Not exactly a match made in heaven." He tilted his head, eyeing Alear and Kiran's group with a cynical smirk. "I'm Griss, and I'm not the type to take prisoners. Just a fair warning."

Marni, a young girl with blonde hair, regarded Alear and Kiran's group with open disdain. "Royalty, huh?" She scoffed, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "I thought I'd meet some actual nobles today. Instead, we get a bunch of losers."

Alear clenched her fists, her patience waning, but before she could respond, another member of the Four Hounds took center stage. Mauvier, surprisingly, bowed courteously to Alear and Kiran's group. "Greetings. I am Mauvier," he said, his tone more composed than his comrades. "Zephia has spoken highly of both of you. It is an honor to meet you."

Kiran exchanged a puzzled glance with Alear. The dynamics within the Four Hounds seemed as complex as the web of secrets surrounding them. Mauvier's unexpected courtesy contrasted sharply with Griss and Marni's hostility.

Baldraz, the spirit within Kiran's Breidablik, spoke in a hushed tone to Kiran, "Zephia's words may have painted a different picture of her companions, but their true intentions remain elusive. Keep your guard up."

As the confrontation unfolded, Alear and Kiran's group found themselves entangled in a web of conflicting personalities and hidden motives, unsure of whom to trust in this enigmatic encounter.

The tense air in Destinea Cathedral hung heavy as Kiran addressed Alear and the rest of the group. "It's time to retreat," he said, urgency lacing his words.

Alear, nodding in agreement, replied, "I agree. We need to regroup and figure out our next move."

Veyle, standing nearby, couldn't resist a mocking remark. "Leaving so soon, are we? How disappointing."

Sombron's voice cut through the tension, authoritative and commanding. "Veyle, take away Alear's Emblem Rings."

Alear's eyes widened with horror as the Emblem Rings she and her companions had painstakingly retrieved flew from her grasp, hovering in the air before Veyle. The group watched helplessly as their symbols of power succumbed to an unseen force.

Veyle, holding the Emblem Rings in her hands, addressed Alear with a sinister smile. "You had the Draconic Time Crystal back at Lythos Castle, didn't you, Alear?" She let out a chilling chuckle as the Draconic Time Crystal in Alear's possession was tinged in red. "That Draconic Time Crystal used to belong to me. Hmph, I shall dampen its power. Thus, I consider 'trading' my Draconic Time Crystal for your Emblem Rings a worthy exchange. Now, your Emblem Rings belong to Lord Sombron."

Alear gritted her teeth with frustration evident in her expression. "Why are you doing this, Veyle?"

Veyle ignored Alear's question, her focus unwavering on the now-acquired Emblem Rings. "These Emblem Rings will serve Lord Sombron's cause. A small price to pay for the grandeur that awaits."

The group stood in stunned silence, grappling with the gravity of the situation. The balance of power had shifted, and Alear and Kiran's group found themselves facing not only physical threats but the manipulation of the very artifacts that defined their strength. The echoes of Veyle's chilling declaration lingered in the cathedral as they braced for the challenges ahead.

In the ominous ambiance of Destinea Cathedral, Sombron, now in his formidable dragon form, unleashed his malevolent voice. "Now is the time to corrupt these Emblem Rings," he declared, his words echoing with a dark resonance.

"Shine on, Emblem of Beginnings... Care for us, Emblem of Echoes..." Sombron chanted. "Provide for us, Emblem of the Holy War..."

"No, no..." Alear pleaded as dark energies began to emanate from Sombron that seeped into the six Emblem Rings. "Emblem Marth, Emblem Celica, Emblem Sigurd..."

"Rise up, Emblem of Binding... Free us, Emblem of Genealogy..." Sombron continued chanting. "Heal us, Emblem of Dawn..."

As Sombron chanted, Alear and Kiran looked on in dismay as a sinister aura emanated from Sombron, wrapping around the six Emblem Rings stolen from Alear. The once vibrant symbols of power were engulfed by a malevolent red glow as Sombron's corruption took hold. Alear and Kiran could only watch in horror as the Emblems projected themselves out of their Rings, each one—Emblem Marth, Emblem Sigurd, Emblem Celica, Emblem Micaiah, Emblem Roy, and Emblem Leif—tinged with the corruptive essence of Sombron.

Alear clenched her fists, a surge of despair washing over her. "No, this can't be happening..."

Kiran, his eyes fixed on the corrupted Emblems, felt a profound sense of powerlessness. "Sombron's corruption is altering the very essence of the Emblems."

Veyle, reveling in the unfolding chaos, spoke with a twisted satisfaction. "Abandon all hope, for the Emblems you knew are no more. They are now tools of Lord Sombron's will."

The cathedral resonated with a chilling silence as the once-pure symbols of heroism were tainted by the malevolence of Sombron's influence. A sense of foreboding settled upon Alear and Kiran's group as they faced the grim reality that their most potent allies had been transformed into instruments of darkness. The road ahead seemed darker than ever before.

Alear's heart sank at the corrupted sight of the once-pure Emblems. Their vibrant essence had been tainted by Sombron's malevolent touch, and the symbols of heroism now resonated with darkness.

Sombron, his dragon form exuding a sinister aura, turned his attention to Kiran. "Ah, yes. Kiran Pathfinder, is it? You must be the fabled Summoner that I've been hearing about. I find your ability to summon Heroes quite... intriguing," he mused, his voice echoing through the cathedral. "Your ability to summon Heroes is similar, yet so different from the Emblem Rings of Elyos."

A shiver ran down Kiran's spine as Sombron offered a grim ultimatum. "You have two choices, Summoner. Join forces with me, the Fell Dragon Sombron, or face annihilation alongside the so-called 'Divine One.' The choice is yours."

Almost immediately, everyone in the group, from Alfonse, Sharena, and Commander Anna to the Heroes that Kiran summoned from Elyos like Alfred, Celine, Diamant, Alcryst, and all of their retainers stepped forward to protect Kiran from Sombron and his ilk.

"Kiran!" Alfonse exclaimed. "Don't do it!"

"Yeah!" Sharena added. "Believe in us! Believe in the Heroes that you summoned!"

"I believe in you, Kiran!" Fjorm said to him. "Don't give up!"

"You summoned us as Heroes," Alfred declared. "As Firene's crown prince, I'll do what I can to protect you, Kiran!"

"Don't listen to his demands, Kiran!" Celine said. "My brother and I will do our best to protect you!"

"Don't give in, Kiran!" Diamant exclaimed. "Show the Fell Dragon your pride as a Summoner!"

"I-I know it's not my place to say," Alcryst stammered. "But, I-I admit I do believe in you, Kiran..."

"We'll be here for you, Kiran," Commander Anna said. "No matter what the odds are for us, we'll stand united as Heroes at your beck and call!"

Then, Kiran remembered the promise he had made to Emblem Marth hours earlier before their group entered Destinea Cathedral.

"You must make a promise, Kiran Pathfinder. In case something happens to me and the other Emblems, you will be the one to help Alear in my stead."

The weight of the decision hung heavy in the air as he remembered his promise to Emblem Marth, Kiran, with a steely resolve, raised the Breidablik. With a swift motion, he fired a shot into the cathedral ceiling, the resounding echo punctuating his words.

"How about a third option?" Kiran declared as he glared at Sombron. "We defy you, 'Lord' Sombron. Your darkness won't control us."

"Kiran... Thank you for bringing light into the darkness," Alear, touched by Kiran's defiance, replied as she looked at him with a mix of gratitude and determination.

Sombron's gaze hardened as he observed the unexpected resistance. The battle lines were drawn, and in the heart of Destinea Cathedral, a clash between light and shadow seemed inevitable.

Sombron's draconic eyes narrowed into a glare as Kiran's defiance echoed through the cathedral. "How dare you defy me!" Sombron roared, his voice reverberating through the ominous space.

Kiran, undeterred by the Fell Dragon's fury, stood firm. "You took Alear's Emblem Rings, but you can never take me or my ability to summon Heroes. That's something you'll never have, Sombron."

Then, a smug grin played on Kiran's face as he taunted the enraged dragon. "Summoning Heroes is beyond your reach, isn't it, Sombron? It is a power you'll never, ever possess."

Sombron, his anger escalating, seethed, "So be it, Kiran Pathfinder. You shall be destroyed, along with the Divine One."

With a wave of his clawed hand, Sombron turned his attention to Veyle. "Finish them, Veyle. Destroy them and their paltry group of Heroes."

Veyle, her expression twisted into a maniacal grin, eagerly accepted the sinister task. "With pleasure," she declared, stepping forward with a wicked determination.

Alear, Kiran, and their group prepared for the impending confrontation, the clash between light and darkness reaching its crescendo. The cathedral echoed with the ominous energy of an impending battle, and as Veyle advanced, the air became charged with tension and the anticipation of the inevitable clash.

As Alear and Kiran's group slowly retreated from the looming threat of Sombron and Veyle, Veyle spoke with a chilling calmness. "I wanted to use Emblem Marth and Sigurd, but your interference forced me to leave their Emblem Rings behind." Her tone hinted at a grudge, a past event that had left her unsatisfied.

In an unsettling display of power, the Ring of the Hero-King and the Ring of the Holy Knight began to morph, taking on the forms of two legendary swords – Falchion and Tyrfing, now tinged in Sombron's corruptive red aura. Veyle, with an air of malevolence, levitated the two blades, preparing to unleash their deadly potential.

"Now, Alear and Kiran... It's time for the two of you to die!" Veyle declared with an eerie certainty, her red eyes gleaming with malice as she readied to throw the swords at Alear and Kiran.

As the lethal blades hurtled towards them, Kiran's Breidablik glowed with a radiant white light. Involuntarily, Kiran found himself chanting words that seemed to resonate with a mysterious power.

"Gathering stars call to the former queen whose sacrifice paved the way to the future!" Kiran chanted with his voice echoing through the cathedral. "Become the path its light shines upon!"

A brilliant burst of energy erupted from Kiran's Breidablik, intercepting the oncoming blades. The air crackled with newfound power, and an ethereal force enveloped the group, creating a barrier that shielded them from Veyle's deadly assault. The unexpected turn of events hung in the air, leaving Alear, Kiran, and their group in awe of the mysterious incantation and the protective light that now surrounded them.

As Veyle's thrown blades were deftly deflected by the radiant power of Kiran's Breidablik and as the blades levitated back to Veyle and reverted to their Emblem Ring forms, the Summoner continued his enigmatic chant, the words resonating with an otherworldly force as he pulled the trigger on the Breidablik.

"Hero Summon!" Kiran finished chanting as he raised the Breidablik upwards. "I call forth Lumera, the Dragon Monarch!"

In a dazzling display of light, Lumera, the former Queen of Lythos, materialized within Destinea Cathedral. Her regal presence filled the space as she wielded her Monarch Blade, ready for battle. Gasps of astonishment echoed through the cathedral as the onlookers beheld the unexpected summoning of the deceased Dragon Monarch.

Sombron, his draconic form seething with anger, roared in disbelief. "No! It cannot be!"

"How can this be? I fought and defeated Lumera before at Lythos Castle! I saw Lumera collapse out of sheer exhaustion!" Veyle, her red eyes widening in disbelief, stared at Lumera with a mix of shock and frustration. Then, Veyle glared at Kiran for summoning Lumera into Destinea Cathedral. "Kiran Pathfinder... How dare he summon Lumera as a Hero!"

"I am the Divine Dragon Lumera, former Queen of Lythos, now a Hero summoned by Kiran," Lumera, standing resolute, turned her attention to Kiran. Her voice echoed with a timeless grace as she spoke, "I have been waiting for the moment when I would be called back to Elyos."

"Mother," Alear said as she struggled to hold back the tears that welled up in her eyes at the sight of Lumera. "It's so good to have Kiran summon you here."

"It's alright, my child," Lumera comforted Alear with her words. "The Emblems may be in Sombron's hands, but he cannot have the power that Kiran has that makes us Heroes. I shall aid you all in retreating from Destinea Cathedral."

A hush fell over the cathedral, the air thick with tension and the weight of Lumera's unexpected presence. The dynamics had shifted, and the summoned Dragon Monarch now stood as a beacon of hope in the face of the darkness that loomed.

Meanwhile, back at the World of Zenith, a congregation of Heroes had gathered in the main hall of Askr Castle. An alternate version of Commander Anna, known as the Wealth Wisher, stood at the forefront, alongside the New Year's versions of Alfonse and Sharena, the Askran Duo. The atmosphere was tense, and the Heroes awaited information on the ongoing situation in Elyos.

"The Male and Female versions of Byleth have submitted their report on the situation in Elyos," Wealth Wisher Anna addressed the assembly. "And given from the report, they've explained how Emblem Rings are, which doesn't bode well for Elyos."

Amidst the gathering, Sigurd, the Holy Knight from the World of Jugdral, raised a question. "Will Kiran summon us back to Elyos?" he inquired, his eyes filled with anticipation.

Wealth Wisher Anna, the embodiment of Askr's financial prowess, nodded in response. "That's indeed possible. Kiran can call forth Heroes when the need arises."

As the discussion unfolded in the main hall of Askr Castle, Celica, the valiant Hero from the World of Valentia, stepped forward. "If it means aiding Kiran and Alear in Elyos, I'm more than willing to be brought back," she declared, determination shining in her eyes.

Roy, the courageous Hero hailing from the World of Elibe, added to the conversation. "We should be prepared for the possibility of disappearing from Zenith when Kiran summons us," he cautioned, a sense of readiness in his tone.

Leif, another valiant Hero from the World of Jugdral, spoke up. "If the reports are true, then I possess an Emblem Ring based on my likeness," he noted, his expression contemplative.

New Year Alfonse, standing alongside Sharena, responded to Leif's revelation. "According to reports, you do have an Emblem Ring. It's called the Ring of the Sage Lord," he confirmed, providing clarity to Leif.

"In that case, if Kiran needs me at Elyos," Leif declared as he readied his Light Blade. "As a Hero, I shall answer his call."

New Year Sharena, standing alongside New Year Alfonse, took a step forward, her voice filled with curiosity and earnestness. "What are your thoughts on the report? Are you willing to answer the call and be brought to Elyos if Kiran needs our assistance?" she inquired, her gaze sweeping across the congregation of Heroes.

Micaiah, a wise Hero hailing from the World of Tellius, stepped forward, her voice calm yet resolute. "I have met my Emblem, and if it means aiding Kiran and Alear, I am more than willing to journey to Elyos," she declared, her eyes gleaming with unwavering determination.

Marth, the legendary Hero-King of Archanea, nodded in agreement, his voice carrying an air of noble resolve. "I, too, have encountered the Emblem based on my likeness," he affirmed, his words filled with conviction. "If Kiran summons me back to Elyos, I will answer the call without hesitation."

Wealth Wisher Anna, ever perceptive, interjected with a knowing smile. "With everyone here aware of the existence of the Emblem Rings," she observed, her voice confident, "it is safe to say that every one of you is willing to be summoned by Kiran." Her words resonated with the Heroes, a shared determination burning brightly within their hearts.

Nodding in agreement, Wealth Wisher Anna concluded the meeting. "Let it be known that the Heroes of Askr stand united in their resolve to aid Kiran and Alear," she declared, her voice carrying a sense of purpose. "Prepare yourselves, for the battles that lie ahead will require all of your strength and courage."

The Heroes dispersed, their hearts filled with determination and anticipation. They knew that their fates were intertwined with Kiran and Alear, and they were ready to face whatever challenges awaited them in the distant land of Elyos.

Back at Elyos, the massive doors of Destinea Cathedral groaned as they were forcibly thrown open. Alear, Kiran, and their tactical withdrawal team spilled out, creating distance between themselves and the looming threat within. The outside world greeted them with an uneasy calm, a stark contrast to the malevolent presence they had just escaped.

As Veyle and Sombron's forces emerged from the cathedral, Veyle's voice cut through the air with haughty arrogance. "Run as much as you like," she declared to Alear and Kiran's group, "But without your Emblem Rings, I'm going to unleash my hatred upon you all."

Kiran, never one to back down, retorted as he retreated with the group. "Is that what you delude yourself with at night? It's such an empty bluster coming from you, Veyle!"

Veyle's glare bore into Kiran, her red eyes tinged evidently with fury. "I'll kill you all!" she declared, her voice dripping with malice, "But, I'll take my time with Alear and Kiran first."

As the rain poured heavily upon the group during their retreat, soaking them to the bone, Alear's voice carried a hint of sadness.

"It pains me to see the six Emblem Rings I obtained being corrupted," Alear confessed, her words filled with a tinge of regret. "But having Kiran summon my Mother, Lumera, more than makes up for it."

Lumera, Alear's mother, replied with a calm and reassuring tone. "Alear, my child. With the Emblems currently in Sombron's hands, it is fortunate that Kiran and the Order of Heroes stand by our side," she acknowledged, her voice carrying a sense of gratitude. Lumera understood the significance of the Order's support in this dire situation.

Alfonse, always composed and strategic, added his insight. "The Order of Heroes has experienced many tactical retreats like this," he stated, his voice steady and confident. "We know how to navigate these situations and regroup for a stronger counterattack."

"Just because we're retreating doesn't mean we won't fight back later!" Sharena exclaimed. "Tactical retreats are conducted for a very good reason!"

"Whenever we make such retreats like this," Fjorm admitted. "I'm always confident that Kiran will find a way for us to launch a counter-attack later on."

Commander Anna, known for her resourceful nature, interjected with a knowing smile. "That's precisely why the Order of Heroes remains unfazed when Kiran issues tactical withdrawals like this," she chimed in, her voice filled with certainty. "We adapt, regroup, and come back stronger than ever."

The group, drenched from the rain and their spirits dampened by the corrupted Emblem Rings, found solace in their unwavering determination and the support of their allies. With Kiran's summoning power and the tactical expertise of the Order of Heroes, they were prepared to weather any storm and emerge victorious.

As the rain continued to fall, Kiran's voice cut through the sound of the downpour. "There's a saying back on my world," he began, his tone steady. "We're not retreating; we're advancing in a different direction."

"Kiran," Alear replied as she let out a small smile. "Even I don't know what that saying means, but thank you for encouraging me."

"That saying means that tactical retreats always cost less than a full rout," Kiran turned to Alear, his eyes conveying determination. "While Sombron may have succeeded in corrupting the Emblem Rings we've obtained, he can't do that forever. We'll get them back later on, Alear, I promise."

Alear's expression brightened, a smile playing on her lips as she looked at Kiran. "Thank you, Kiran," she said sincerely, "And thank you, everyone, for encouraging me."

Amidst the group, Alfred, Firene's crown prince, spoke up with a strategic focus. "We need to fight off the Corrupted soldiers guarding each checkpoint to press on with our retreat," he suggested.

Alear and Kiran nodded in agreement, their resolve undeterred by the challenges ahead. The night rain served as a backdrop to their determination, each step forward echoing their commitment to press on, even in the face of adversity.

The group, bonded by a shared purpose, prepared to confront the corrupted forces that guarded their path, ready to advance in a different direction. As Alear and Kiran's group strategically retreated from Veyle and Sombron's forces, they found themselves facing several Corrupted soldiers at a checkpoint.

Baldraz, the spirit inhabiting the Breidablik, brought crucial information to Kiran's attention. "One of them is wielding the corrupted Ring of the Young Lion," he revealed, "And if that Corrupted is slain, the corrupted Emblem Ring will be teleported off to another enemy."

Kiran, absorbing the information, nodded thoughtfully. "Understood, Baldraz," he acknowledged, turning to Alear. "Alear, one of Corrupted has the tainted Ring of the Young Lion. If we take them down, the corrupted Emblem Ring will be teleported to another enemy. And if I suspect it, the same can be said with the five other Emblem Rings."

Alear, processing the gravity of the situation, sighed with a mixture of frustration and determination. "Sombron has gone to great lengths to corrupt the Emblem Rings," she remarked. "Kiran, we need to summon the appropriate Hero to counter the Ring of the Young Lion. It's the only way to continue with our retreat."

Kiran, his expression resolute, agreed with a nod. "You're right. I'll summon the Hero we need to overcome this."

The group prepared for the upcoming confrontation, understanding that countering the corrupted forces required a strategic approach and the summoning of a Hero capable of tackling the Ring of the Young Lion.

As the group faced the corrupted forces at the checkpoint, Kiran raised his Breidablik, a determined gleam in his eyes. "Gathering stars to call upon the Young Lion from Elibe! Become the path its light shines upon! Hero Summon! I call forth Roy, the Young Lion!"

With those words, Kiran pulled the trigger on the Breidablik, and in a swirl of radiant light, Roy materialized in front of them. The Young Lion of Elibcommittedute and ready for battle with his Binding Blade at the ready. "I have answered your call," Roy declared, his voice carrying a sense of duty. "I'm willing to help Kiran and Alear in their time of need."

Alear, her sword Libération in hand, nodded appreciatively at Roy's arrival. "Welcome, Roy," she greeted him, determination etched on her face. "We need all the help we can get."

As the Corrupted soldiers guarded the checkpoint, Alear raised her voice to rally the group. "Attack together! We must break through their defenses to continue our retreat."

With a shared understanding, the group, led by Alear, Kiran, and the summoned Roy, surged forward, blades and magic ready. The night echoed with the clash of steel and the crackling of spells as the group fought to overcome the corrupted opposition and press on with their strategic retreat.

During the chaotic battle against the corrupted forces guarding the checkpoint, the tainted Ring of the Young Lion stood out among the retinue of Corrupted soldiers. Alear, Kiran, and their group fought valiantly, each member facing off against multiple foes.

As the rest of the group fought off other Corrupted soldiers, Roy, wielding his Binding Blade with precision, found himself confronting the particular Corrupted soldier bearing the tainted Ring of the Young Lion alongside Diamant, Brodia's crown prince. A hint of sadness flickered in Roy's eyes as he faced the very Emblem based on his likeness. Nevertheless, duty compelled him forward for the sake of Kiran and Alear.

"I never thought I'd have to fight the Emblem that represents me," Roy remarked with a heavy heart, his sword poised for battle. "But for the sake of Kiran and Alear, I must press on!"

"We must press on to retreat from this place," Diamant declared as he readied his Fair-Fight Blade. "We'll prove our worth!"

The Corrupted soldier, wielding the tainted Ring of the Young Lion, lunged at Roy with malevolent intent. Reacting with quick reflexes, Roy and Diamant parried the attack with his Binding Blade, seizing the moment.

"There's our opening!" Roy declared as he and Diamant delivered a swift and precise strike that easily dispatched the Corrupted soldier.

As Alear and Kiran anticipated, the tainted Ring of the Young Lion teleported away from the slain Corrupted soldier, leaving the battlefield momentarily free of its corruptive influence.

"It's a huge honor to fight alongside you once again," Diamant complimented Roy for their cooperation in taking down the Corrupted soldier that wore the tainted Ring of the Young Lion. "Especially that Emblem Roy has been corrupted, along with the other Emblems."

"True, being a Hero, I am different from Emblem Roy," Roy admitted. "But, we share most of the same qualities regardless."

The retreating group faced yet another battalion of Corrupted soldiers, each adorned with the remaining five corrupted Emblem Rings, namely the Ring of the Hero-King, the Ring of the Caring Princess, the Ring of the Holy Knight, the Ring of the Sage Lord, and the Ring of the Dawn Maiden, Lumera, the wise Dragon Monarch, spoke up with a sense of urgency.

"Alear and Kiran," Lumera warned, her voice echoing through the rain-soaked night. "Another group of Corrupted is approaching, and several of them are wearing the corrupt versions of the Emblem Rings your group once had."

Alear, appreciating her mother's guidance, nodded in acknowledgment. "Thank you for telling us, Mother," she said, her eyes scanning the approaching threat.

With a quick decision, Alear turned to Kiran, urgency etched on her face. "We need to counter those corrupted Emblem Rings. Kiran, summon the appropriate Heroes for the task."

"Maybe you can summon the Heroes that match with those Emblem Rings," Sharena exclaimed. "Like Marth, Celica, Sigurd, Leif, and Micaiah?"

"That's exactly my intention, Sharena," Kiran, understanding the gravity of the situation, readied his Breidablik as he replied to Sharena, the white glow intensifying as he began his summoning chant. "Gathering stars to call forth Heroes from various worlds! Become the path that light shines upon!"

The Breidablik responded to Kiran's invocation, glowing brighter with each word of the chant. The rain-soaked battlefield became a stage for the summoning ritual, the anticipation growing as the group awaited the arrival of the Heroes who would stand against the corrupted forces and their tainted Emblem Rings.

In the rain-soaked battlefield, Kiran, with determination in his eyes, pulled the trigger of his Breidablik. The magical shot collided with the ground, creating a swirling portal. Completing his summoning chant, he declared, "Hero Summon! I call forth Marth, Celica, Sigurd, Leif, and Micaiah into the battlefield!"

As Alear and Kiran's group basked in awe from the radiant light, from the luminous portal emerged the summoned Heroes: Marth, Celica, Sigurd, Leif, and Micaiah. They joined Roy, forming a formidable assembly ready to assist in the group's tactical retreat. Each Hero stood ready, their weapons gleaming with heroic prowess.

"I am Marth, Prince of Altea," Marth declared as he readied his Falchion. "I have heeded Kiran's call, and now I am here again in Elyos. Kiran and Alear, I shall assist you in your retreat."

"I am Celica, a priestess and a princess from Valentia," Celica introduced herself as she readied her Ragnarok tome. "I came here to help once I heard Kiran's summons."

"Once again, I am Sigurd, heir to the duchy of Chalphy and descend from the crusader Baldr," Sigurd said as he reared his horse, with Tyrfing raised high into the air. "I'll gladly aid Kiran, Alear, and their allies in their withdrawal from this unholy place!"

"I'm Micaiah, the Priestess of Dawn and the Silver-Haired Maiden," Micaiah introduced herself, with her Thani tome in her hands. "I promise I'll aid Kiran and Alear in escaping from this desolate area."

"I am Leif, Prince of Leonster," Leif declared as he readied his Light Blade. "Kiran and Alear, I may still have much to learn, especially about Elyos, but I vow to do everything within my power to assist you both."

Amidst the battalion of Corrupted, Veyle, the Fell Princess, couldn't resist a smug remark, with her red eyes shining in the rainy cover of darkness. "Your summoned Heroes are inferior to the Emblems corrupted by Lord Sombron," she declared with a haughty grin on her face.

"Is that so?" Kiran, undeterred, retorted with confidence. "How about a little demonstration in battle to find out while we escape from your grasp, Veyle?"

The air crackled with anticipation as the Heroes summoned by Kiran faced off against the Corrupted forces. Veyle's challenge hung in the air, and the rain-soaked battleground became the stage for a confrontation between the summoned Heroes and the corrupted Emblems, setting the scene for a clash that would determine the outcome of the group's retreat.

As they retreat from Veyle and the majority of the Corrupted forces, Alear and Kiran's group chaotically clashed against the Corrupted soldiers, each wearing tainted Emblem Rings stolen by Veyle, the summoned Heroes fought valiantly. Among the adversaries, an infantry mage wielding the Ring of the Dawn Maiden targeted Kiran, casting a blast of red, tainted light from their Thani tome.

Swift and resolute, Micaiah stepped forward, interposing herself between Kiran and the oncoming attack. With her own Thani tome, she countered the Corrupted mage's assault, the opposing energies colliding in a dazzling display of magical prowess.

As the red and blue lights flashed, Micaiah held her ground, determination in her eyes. With a surge of power, she retaliated, releasing an orb of brilliant light from her Thani tome. The radiant projectile homed in on the Corrupted mage, obliterating them in a burst of energy.

"If this means survival..." Micaiah declared, her voice unwavering as she witnessed the demise of their foe. The battlefield momentarily stilled, the fallen Corrupted mage dissolved into dark energy, and the Ring of the Dawn Maiden teleported back to Veyle's hands.

The group pressed on, the battle raging on multiple fronts as they fought to reclaim the tainted Emblem Rings and continue their strategic retreat.

As the relentless assault continued, another Corrupted mage, wielding the Ring of the Caring Princess, directed their malevolent magic towards Celine, the princess of Firene, within Alear and Kiran's group. Sensing the imminent danger, Celica, with quick reflexes, stepped forward, intercepting the attack with a powerful blast from her Ragnarok tome.

The magical clash between the Ring of the Caring Princess and Celica's Ragnarok created a dazzling display of opposing forces. As the attack was thwarted, Celine expressed her gratitude, her eyes reflecting relief. "Thank you, Celica, for stepping in," she said, acknowledging the timely intervention.

Celica, with a nod, responded to the Corrupted mage's aggression. Channeling the fiery essence of Ragnarok, she retaliated with a blast of intense fire magic. The Corrupted mage, caught off guard, couldn't withstand the onslaught and was swiftly defeated.

"Not about to stop here!" Celica declared, her voice filled with determination as she witnessed the demise of the enemy mage.

The battlefield echoed with the fading magical energies, marking the successful defense against the Corrupted mage. Yet, as the defeated mage dissipated into darkness, the Ring of the Caring Princess teleported back to Veyle's hands, her red eyes glaring at Kiran and the summoned Heroes, revealing a determination to turn the tide in her favor.

In a different sector of the rain-soaked battlefield, a Corrupted soldier adorned with the Ring of the Holy Knight charged at Alfred, the crown prince of Firene, wielding a tainted form of Tyrfing. Sigurd, the Holy Knight hailing from the World of Jugdral, swiftly stepped in, blocking the attack with his own Tyrfing.

Alfred, grateful for Sigurd's intervention, expressed his thanks. "Thank you for blocking that attack, Sigurd," he acknowledged, readying himself for what lay ahead.

"You're welcome. As Heroes bound to Kiran, we help each other out," Sigurd, analyzing the situation, suggested a joint effort. "Let's attack the Corrupted wielding the Ring of the Holy Knight together," he proposed.

"Of course," Alfred smiled as he readied his Arcane Qiang. "Lead on, Sigurd!"

Alfred, recognizing the wisdom in Sigurd's words, accepted the proposal. With Tyrfing in hand, Sigurd initiated the counterattack, his swift and precise strikes slashing through the Corrupted soldier. "One strike will decide it all!" Sigurd declared, his movements a testament to his skill.

Capitalizing on Sigurd's opening, Alfred charged forward on his horse, wielding his Arcane Qiang. With a powerful strike, he brought down the Corrupted soldier, petals of darkness scattering in the aftermath.

"Serves you right!" Alfred proclaimed, his voice cutting through the din of battle.

As the defeated Corrupted soldier dissolved into shadows, the Ring of the Holy Knight teleported back to Veyle's hands, leaving her visibly frustrated.

In another part of the tumultuous battlefield, a Corrupted soldier wielding the Ring of the Sage Lord charged at Kiran with a tainted Light Brand in hand. However, Leif, the Prince of Leonster and a Hero from the World of Jugdral, swiftly intervened. Leif raised his own Light Brand, blocking the attack with determined strength, declaring that no harm would befall Kiran under his watch.

Kiran, relieved and thankful for Leif's timely intervention, acknowledged, "Thank you, Leif. You've got my back." With a decisive command, Kiran ordered Leif to finish off the Corrupted soldier.

Leif, with a resolute gaze, accepted the order. Channeling his strength, he counterattacked the Corrupted soldier. Activating his Glimmer special skill, Leif's Light Brand danced through the air, slashing through the Corrupted foe with remarkable speed and precision. "This is our fight!" Leif proclaimed, his words echoing with determination.

As the Corrupted soldier succumbed to the onslaught, dissolving into shadows, the Ring of the Sage Lord teleported back to Veyle's hands. A palpable anger simmered in Veyle's expression, evident to all witnessing the ongoing struggle. The relentless dance between summoned Heroes and corrupted adversaries continued, each clash bringing them closer to the culmination of the battle for the Emblem Rings and the group's strategic retreat.

In the chaotic battlefield, Kiran's attention shifted as another Corrupted soldier, adorned with the Ring of the Hero-King and wielding a tainted Falchion, lunged menacingly at Alear. Reacting swiftly, Kiran called upon Marth, the Hero-King of Archanea, to intercept the imminent attack on Alear.

"Marth!" Kiran commanded. "Intercept the attack aimed at Alear!"

Wholeheartedly complying with Kiran's directive, Marth swiftly readied his own Falchion. With skillful precision, he managed to intercept the attack, blocking the tainted Falchion aimed at Alear. Alear, grateful for the timely intervention, expressed her thanks. "Thank you, Marth. I owe you one."

Marth, with a resolute gaze, suggested a united front. "Let's fight together to defeat this Corrupted," he proposed. "What do you say?"

Alear, agreeing with Marth's suggestion, readied her sword, Libération, preparing to face the Corrupted soldier wearing the tainted Ring of the Hero-King. The rain-soaked battlefield bore witness to their determination, as Alear and Marth stood together, ready to confront the corrupted adversary and continue their strategic retreat.

In the wake of Marth's interception, he swiftly initiated a counterattack against the Corrupted soldier adorned with the Ring of the Hero-King. With graceful and precise slashes of his Falchion, Marth declared, "Fate has brought us here!"

Following Marth's lead, Alear charged forward with determination, wielding her Libération sword. In a swift and fluid motion, she delivered the finishing blows to the Corrupted soldier, declaring, "I am the Divine Dragon!"

The Corrupted soldier succumbed to the combined might of Marth and Alear, dissolving into shadows. As the fallen foe faded away, the Ring of the Hero-King teleported back to Veyle's hands. Veyle, undeterred by the setback, grasped the Emblem Ring in her right hand.

"It seems the Corrupted soldiers aren't enough to take down Alear and her allies," Veyle seethed with rage as her red eyes were staring at Kiran. "It's all because of Kiran Pathfinder and his summoned Heroes!"

The rain-soaked battlefield echoed with the clashing of steel, magical incantations, and the determination of the summoned Heroes. Alear and Kiran's group continued their strategic retreat, overcoming each obstacle with tactical prowess and unity in the face of the relentless assault from Sombron's forces.

As the battle raged on, a new presence emerged on the battlefield. The Four Hounds, a formidable group consisting of Zephia, Mauvier, Griss, and Marni, arrived with their loyalty pledged to Veyle. The dark aura surrounding them spoke of their allegiance to the corrupted cause.

Veyle's voice cut through the chaos as she issued her ruthless command. "Four Hounds, step in and eliminate Alear, Kiran, and their allies," she ordered, her tone filled with malice and determination. She knew that the arrival of her loyal subordinates would tilt the scales of the battle in her favor.

Mauvier, understanding the gravity of Veyle's command, responded with a resolute tone. "I understand what needs to be done," he acknowledged, his voice betraying no hesitation. He was prepared to carry out Veyle's orders, no matter the cost.

Marni, with a twisted sense of amusement, chuckled derisively at Alear and Kiran's group. Her voice dripped with contempt as she taunted them. "You morons think you stand a chance?" she sneered at Alear and Kiran's group with her words laced with arrogance. "I wonder which one of you will be my first victim..."

Griss, wearing a smug grin, acknowledged the severity of their orders. "Oh well... Orders are orders," he remarked, anticipating an engaging fight. "Hope the other side gets a few slices on me."

Zephia, the leader of the Four Hounds, addressed Veyle with unwavering loyalty. "I promise you, Veyle that Alear, Kiran, and their paltry allies will not escape," she declared, her voice carrying the weight of her commitment. She understood the importance of her role in fulfilling Veyle's dark ambitions.

The arrival of the Four Hounds added a new layer of danger to the already tumultuous battlefield, setting the stage for a confrontation that would test the mettle of Alear, Kiran, and their allies.

As the Four Hounds materialized on the rainy battlefield, their presence immediately caught Alear's attention. She sensed their intention to impede their escape and protect Veyle's dark agenda.

"Looks like the Veyle and the Four Hounds are attempting to thwart our escape," Alear remarked as she saw the Four Hounds arrive on the rainy battlefield.

Observing the commotion, Kiran's gaze shifted towards a group of approaching figures in the distance, two footsoldiers and a person riding a wyvern. He turned to Alear, his voice filled with a mix of surprise and curiosity. "Alear, look, there's a group of people coming towards us," he exclaimed, his eyes fixed on the familiar faces drawing closer.

Alear followed Kiran's gaze and her eyes widened in recognition. Ivy, the crown princess of Elusia, stood tall amidst her retainers, Zelkov and Kagetsu. Relief washed over Alear as she realized they had come to join their cause.

Alear wasted no time in addressing Ivy, her voice carrying a mix of concern and curiosity. "Ivy, I thought you were seeking asylum in Somniel," she remarked, her tone tinged with confusion. She had believed that Ivy had sought refuge in Somniel, a place free from the clutches of Veyle.

Kiran, his curiosity piqued, interjected with a question. "Yeah. Princess Ivy, what brings you and your retainers here?" he inquired, his voice filled with genuine curiosity. He was eager to understand why Ivy had ventured to the dangerous battlefield, seemingly abandoning the safety of Somniel.

As the rain continued to pour, Ivy raised her voice, relief evident in her tone. "I'm glad we arrived in time, Alear, Kiran," she expressed, gratitude coloring her words. She understood the dire situation their group faced and was relieved to be able to lend her support.

Kagetsu, standing by Ivy's side, chimed in, his voice filled with observation. "It appears that Alear and Kiran's group is on the retreat," he remarked, his words carrying a note of concern. He recognized the urgency of the situation and the need to regroup and strategize.

Zelkov, the other retainer, chimed in with a suggestion for Ivy. "Perhaps *you* should let the *Divine One* purify the Emblem Ring in your possession," he advised, addressing Alear with reverence.

As Ivy looked at her Emblem Ring, which was the Ring of the Princess Exalt, Kiran's eyes widened as he remembered from the battle earlier that Alear obtained the Ring of the Lady of the Plains upon taking down Hyacinth.

Kiran's eyes widened at this revelation. "Alear, you still have the Ring of the Lady of the Plains that you obtained from Hyacinth," he said to Alear, surprised by the information.

Alear, acknowledging the truth in Kiran's words, reached into her pockets, picking up the tainted Ring of the Lady of the Plains. Its red corruptive aura was still evident.

Examining the corrupted Emblem Ring, Alear mused aloud, "It seems the reason it hasn't been taken away is because it's already corrupted. That might work in our favor."

The realization of the emblem's corruption presented a potential advantage for their group in the face of the ongoing conflict. As the chaos of battle unfolded, a voice resonated within Kiran's mind. It was Baldraz, the spirit inhabiting the Breidablik, their invaluable ally in this war against darkness. Baldraz's words carried an air of urgency and hope.

"Kiran," Baldraz spoke directly to his summoner, "Alear can purify the two Emblem Rings and the tainted Draconic Time Crystal using the energies from the Breidablik as a catalyst. However, we need to momentarily stall the Four Hounds and the rest of the Corrupted forces."

Kiran's eyes widened as he absorbed Baldraz's message. He knew that time was of the essence, and they could not waste a single moment. Gathering his resolve, Kiran addressed the heroes he had summoned for this crucial battle – Marth, Sigurd, Celica, Micaiah, Leif, and Roy.

"Everyone!" Kiran called out, his voice filled with authority. "Assist Alear's group in stalling the Four Hounds and the remaining Corrupted forces," he commanded, his words carrying the weight of their mission. He understood the importance of buying Alear the time she needed to purify the corrupted artifacts.

"I don't know what you're going to do, Kiran," Alfonse remarked. "But I know you have a plan. I'll do what I can."

"Kiran is the source of my strength," Fjorm said as she readied her lance, Leiptr. "If he has a plan, then we must stall for time!"

Alear, eager to understand their plan, turned to Kiran, her voice filled with anticipation. "Kiran, what ideas do you have?" she inquired, her eyes locked on his, awaiting his guidance.

Kiran met her gaze, a determined expression on his face. "Alear, Ivy..." he began, his voice steady, "As our allies stall the enemy, we have an opportunity to purify the two Emblem Rings and the Draconic Time Crystal right now," he explained, his words carrying a sense of urgency and determination. He knew that this moment could turn the tide of the battle in their favor.

As the rain continued to fall, the battlefield became a battleground of both physical and spiritual forces. Alear, Kiran, Ivy, and their allies prepared to face the Four Hounds and the Corrupted forces head-on. Their plan set in motion, they braced themselves for the challenges that lay ahead, knowing that their actions could determine the fate of their world.

As the battle raged on, Alear and Ivy seized the opportunity presented by their allies' distraction. They stepped forward, holding the precious artifacts before Kiran. The Draconic Time Crystal, the Ring of the Princess Exalt, and the Ring of the Lady of the Plains shimmered with a tainted aura, a reflection of Veyle's corruption.

Kiran, recognizing the moment's significance, brought out his Breidablik, the source of their power. With a gentle levitation, he held the three artifacts in the air, their combined presence a symbol of hope amidst the chaos.

Kiran turned to Alear, his voice filled with determination. "Alear, please chant the activation phrases of the two Emblem Rings," he instructed with his words carrying the weight of their purpose. He knew that Alear's voice held the power to cleanse the artifacts and restore their purity.

Alear nodded, fully aware of the task at hand. She took a deep breath, her voice steady and unwavering.

"Sweep across, Emblem of Blazing! Reignite us, Emblem of Awakening!" Alear chanted, her words resonating with ancient power. The activation phrases echoed through the rain-soaked battlefield, a beacon of hope cutting through the darkness.

With Kiran's assistance, Alear's chants reverberated with a cleansing energy. The tainted aura surrounding the Draconic Time Crystal and the two Emblem Rings gradually dissipated, revealing their true essence. The artifacts, once corrupted, were now restored to their original state, their power ready to be harnessed once again.

A sense of renewed strength and hope filled the air as Alear, Kiran, and Ivy stood before the purified artifacts. They knew that this pivotal moment marked a turning point in their battle against Veyle and her forces. With their weapons now cleansed, they were ready to face the darkness head-on, fueled by the restored power of their artifacts and the unyielding determination in their hearts.

As the purified artifacts shimmered with renewed power, a surge of energy filled the air. From the Emblem Rings, Lyn and Lucina materialized in their emblematic forms, ready to join the fight alongside Alear, Kiran, and their allies. Their presence brought a sense of hope and determination to the battle-scarred warriors.

"I am Emblem Lyndis... Just call me Lyn," Emblem Lyn, her sword gleaming in the rain-soaked battlefield, spoke with fierce determination. "Is our group ready to turn the tide of this fight?" she asked, her voice filled with conviction. She understood the weight of their mission and was eager to lend her strength to the cause.

"I am Emblem Lucina," Emblem Lucina, her Falchion blade glowing with a faint light, spoke with unwavering resolve. "I strive to be the beacon of light in this darkness," she stated, her voice filled with determination. She saw herself as a symbol of hope for those who had fallen into despair, a guiding light amidst the encroaching darkness.

Just as their determination swelled, a group of Corrupted soldiers appeared before Alear, Kiran, Ivy, and her retainers. Ivy observed their relentless advance, her voice tinged with frustration. "It seems they always find a way to bypass our defense lines," she remarked, her tone filled with annoyance at their enemy's relentless tactics.

Alear, her eyes fixed on the approaching enemy, turned to Kiran, her voice firm and resolute. "Kiran, we need reinforcements," she said to him, her words carrying a sense of urgency. "Summon the Hero versions of Lyn and Lucina to complement their Emblem selves," she suggested, recognizing the need for additional strength and firepower.

As Alear, Ivy, and her retainers faced off against the relentless Corrupted battalion that had managed to bypass their defenses, Kiran focused his energy. With a determined chant, he summoned forth the Hero versions of Lyn and Lucina, calling upon their strength to aid in the battle.

"Gathering wishes to call upon two Heroes from Elibe and Ylisse! Become the path its light shines upon!" Kiran chanted as his Breidablik glowed in a shining white light. "Hero Summon! I call forth Lyn, the Lady of the Plains, and Lucina, the Future Witness into the battlefield!"

In a brilliant flash of light, Lyn and Lucina materialized before Kiran, their swords at the ready. Lyn, her gaze filled with relief, spoke first.

"I'm Lyn of the House of Caelin. Kiran, I didn't expect to be summoned so soon, but I'm glad to see that you and Alear have survived," Lyn said, her voice carrying a mix of gratitude and determination. She understood the gravity of their mission and was ready to fight alongside them.

"I am Lucina, Ylisse's Future Witness, and the daughter of Chrom," Lucina, her eyes burning with determination, added her voice to the conversation. "I am more than willing to defend your hopes from being snuffed out," she declared, her tone resolute. Lucina saw herself as a guardian of their cause, determined to protect Kiran and Alear's vision from the encroaching darkness.

Emblem Lyn, observing the Hero versions of herself and Lucina, couldn't help but comment on their summoning. "It is remarkable to witness Kiran's power to summon our real counterparts," she remarked, her voice filled with awe and appreciation. She recognized the strength and potential that Kiran possessed as a summoner.

Emblem Lucina, her eyes reflecting a sense of surrealism, interjected with her thoughts. "It feels surreal to meet with my true self," she admitted with her words carrying a mix of wonder and determination. "But, I understand that we need all the help we can get to safely retreat from the area."

The rain continued to pour, the battlefield becoming a chaotic dance of swords and magic. Alear, Ivy, and their allies fought valiantly against the Corrupted forces, while Kiran, Lyn, and Lucina stood together, their resolve unyielding.

As the Hero versions of Lyn and Lucina charged forward, engaging the Corrupted battalion in fierce combat, Alear and Ivy stole a moment to exchange glances. Their eyes settled on the heroic figures fighting alongside them, their expressions a mix of determination and contemplation.

Alear, her voice filled with genuine concern, turned to Ivy. "Are you sure about turning against Elusia?" she asked, her words laced with empathy. She understood the weight of Ivy's decision and wanted to ensure that Ivy was resolute in her choice.

Ivy, her gaze steady, met Alear's eyes. "Turning against Elusia is the only way to save itself," she admitted, her voice tinged with a mix of determination and regret. Ivy understood the sacrifice she was making and the necessity of her actions.

Taking a deep breath, Ivy continued, her voice resolute. "As a first step towards my atonement, I want to fight alongside you, Alear, as well as Kiran and his Heroes. Together, we can make a difference," she declared, her words carrying a sense of determination and hope.

A warm smile spread across Alear's face as she welcomed Ivy's commitment. "Princess Ivy, I appreciate your resolve," she replied, her voice filled with gratitude. She recognized the strength it took for Ivy to make this decision and was grateful to have her by their side. "Welcome to our group."

Just as they were about to continue their battle, Kiran approached the group, his presence commanding attention. Ivy turned to him, her voice tinged with curiosity. "Kiran, do you think I am worthy enough to be summoned as a Hero someday?" she asked with her words carrying a mix of hope and uncertainty.

Kiran met Ivy's gaze, his expression reassuring. "Ivy, the time will come when you will be summoned as a Hero," he affirmed, his voice filled with confidence. "But for now, we must focus on fighting our way out of this place and continue with our tactical retreat," he added, emphasizing the urgency of their situation.

With renewed determination, Alear, Ivy, Kiran, and the Heroes fought side by side, their collective strength pushing back against the darkness. The rain-soaked battlefield became a stage for their unwavering resolve and the hope that burned within their hearts. Together, they would face whatever challenges lay ahead, their bond growing stronger with each battle fought.

On the other side of the battlefield, Veyle, her frustration palpable, gritted her teeth as Alear and Kiran's group skillfully managed to stall her advancing Corrupted forces while simultaneously retreating. The sight of their strategic maneuvering fueled her anger, evident in her furrowed brow and clenched fists.

In her seething anger, Veyle's attention was abruptly drawn to a brilliant flash of light in the distance. Her eyes widened with a mix of curiosity and ire, recognizing that Alear and Kiran had unleashed a powerful move or accomplished something significant. The mere thought of their success only fueled her determination to crush them.

With an exasperated huff, Veyle muttered through gritted teeth, "These Corrupted forces are not enough to overwhelm Alear, Kiran, and their paltry Heroes and allies." Her voice dripped with disdain as she belittled their opposition, refusing to acknowledge their strength. Veyle had always relied on her power, and the idea of others standing in her way infuriated her.

Determined to take matters into her own hands, Veyle's eyes blazed with an intense fire. "Must I do everything myself?!" she declared, her voice laced with a mix of fury and determination. Veyle knew that she alone possessed the power to eradicate her enemies and achieve her wicked ambitions.

Without wasting another moment, Veyle set her sights on Alear and Kiran, her gaze filled with a deadly focus. Several Corrupted soldiers rallied around her, eager to follow their leader's command. Together, they sprinted towards the direction of Alear and Kiran, their footsteps echoing with a sinister intent.

The battlefield trembled with the impending clash as Veyle and her forces closed in on their targets. The rain poured down, mirroring the intensity of the moment. Veyle was determined to confront and eliminate both Alear and Kiran personally, eager to prove her dominance and extinguish any glimmer of hope that dared to oppose her.

As Alear and Kiran's group fought their way through the relentless Corrupted soldiers, their determination grew stronger with each passing moment. With each enemy they defeated, they inched closer and closer to the exit, their path gradually becoming clearer.

Breathing heavily from the intense battle, Alear couldn't contain her excitement. "We're getting closer, everyone! Keep pushing forward!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with a mix of exhaustion and determination. She could feel the victory within reach, urging her and her allies to press on.

Kiran glanced back and saw his summoned Heroes and the rest of his allies fighting off one Corrupted after another as they were nearing the exit. From Alfonse, Sharena, Fjorm, and Commander Anna to Alfred, Celine, Diamant, Alcryst, and Ivy along with all of their retainers to the Heroes that he had summoned, all of them fought together to make the tactical retreat possible.

Kiran, his gaze focused on their goal, nodded in agreement. "Yes, Alear, we're almost there," he affirmed, his voice filled with unwavering resolve. He knew that they couldn't afford to falter now, their escape from this treacherous area depended on their perseverance.

As they continued their arduous journey, a voice resonated within Kiran's mind. It was Baldraz, the spirit inhabiting the Breidablik, warning him of an imminent threat.

"Kiran!" Baldraz warned with his ethereal voice showing concern. "Veyle is approaching your location with several Corrupted soldiers accompanying her! Be ready!"

"Alear! Veyle is quickly approaching us! Be on your guard," Kiran warned, his voice laced with a sense of urgency. He knew they had to prepare for a dangerous confrontation.

Alear and Kiran swiftly turned around, their eyes meeting the sight of Veyle charging toward them. Dark orbs flew from her Obscurité tome, aimed directly at them. Reacting quickly, they dodged and deflected the projectiles, their movements fluid and calculated. Then, the rest of Alear and Kiran's group fought off the Corrupted soldiers that accompanied Veyle.

One of the Corrupted soldiers set their sights on Lumera, with their Steel Axe at the ready. Lumera, being a former Queen of Lythos and a Hero bound to Kiran, readied her Monarch Blade as she blocked the Corrupted's attack.

"Long have I waited!" Lumera declared as she retaliated against the Corrupted soldier, slashing them with her Monarch Blade. The Corrupted soldier collapsed into the ground and dissipated into motes of darkness as Lumera emerged victorious.

Meanwhile, Veyle, seething with rage, unleashed a furious cry. "Alear! Kiran! You will both die here and now!" she exclaimed, her voice dripping with malice. Her determination to eliminate Alear and Kiran burned fiercely within her, driving her forward.

Kiran, his voice laced with sarcasm, couldn't help but taunt his adversary. "I'm sorry, Veyle, but I'm afraid you can't do that," he retorted, his tone filled with confidence. He knew that they possessed the strength and resilience to overcome Veyle's assault.

As the rain poured down, the clash between light and darkness intensified. Alear, Kiran, and their allies stood firm, prepared to face Veyle head-on. The battle reached its climax as their fates collided, the outcome hanging in the balance. In this pivotal moment, Alear and Kiran were determined to emerge victorious, pushing back against the darkness that threatened to consume them.

Veyle, seething with rage, snapped at Kiran, her voice filled with venom. "Silence, Kiran! You will perish here with Alear!" she spat, her words dripping with malice. The intensity of the battle had fueled her anger, driving her to eliminate her adversaries.

Unfazed by Veyle's outburst, Kiran met her gaze with a calm resolve. "If you don't let our group escape, Veyle, you will regret confronting us here," he warned, his voice steady and confident. He knew that their determination and resourcefulness would prove to be a formidable obstacle for Veyle.

Veyle, consumed by a fit of rage, readied her Obscurité tome, channeling dark energy into a formidable orb.

"Only Lord Sombron can command me, as I am the instrument of Lord Sombron's will," Veyle declared, her loyalty to her father fueled her determination to eliminate any who stood in her way. "And if Lord Sombron wants someone dead, they will die by my hand!"

As she saw Veyle charging up a dark orb in her tome, Alear, ever vigilant, sensed the imminent danger.

"Watch out, Kiran!" Alear exclaimed, her voice filled with concern and urgency. She recognized the impending threat and knew they had to act swiftly.

In that crucial moment, Baldraz, the spirit within the Breidablik, spoke directly to Kiran's mind.

"Kiran! Remember that Veyle is being controlled by an outside force," Baldraz explained as he informed Kiran of the situation. "I suggest you load the Breidablik with one of the Golden Summon Orbs and fire it at Veyle! Hurry!"

As Kiran heard Baldraz's suggestion, the idea took Kiran by surprise, but he couldn't help but let out a small smile.

"Thank you, Baldraz," Kiran remarked to himself, "That just might be crazy enough to work."

With a surge of determination, Kiran followed Baldraz's suggestion. He swiftly loaded one of the Golden Summon Orbs into the Breidablik, feeling the immense power within it. As Veyle charged up her dark orb, preparing to launch it at them, Kiran knew it was now or never.

In a dramatic clash of opposing forces, Veyle released the dark orb, fueled by her Obscurité tome, directly at Kiran, while Kiran simultaneously fired the Golden Summon Orb from his Breidablik straight at Veyle. The battlefield seemed to hold its breath as the two projectiles collided in a moment of intense confrontation.

To everyone's astonishment, the Golden Summon Orb proved to be the stronger force. It broke through the dark orb, its golden light overpowering the darkness. Veyle's eyes widened in disbelief as the Golden Summon Orb struck her squarely in the chest, causing her to scream as her body convulsed uncontrollably. The malevolent energy that had consumed her seemed to recoil in response to the purifying power of the Golden Summon Orb.

As Alear and Kiran's group swiftly defeated the Corrupted soldiers who had accompanied Veyle, the battlefield fell into a momentary calm. Lumera, ever gentle and caring, approached Kiran and inquired with concern, "Kiran, oh my goodness! What did you do to Veyle?"

Kiran, his voice filled with a mixture of determination and explanation, replied, "Veyle is being controlled by something, Lumera. I fired the Golden Summon Orb in the hopes of purging that malevolent influence from her."

"I see," Alear remarked. "That's why you used your Breidablik to mentally connect to me about that information earlier."

"I remember seeing Veyle with purple eyes earlier," Alfred remarked. "Now that you mentioned it, Veyle's eyes are red right now."

As Kiran nodded to both Alear and Alfred, he understood the gravity of the situation and the necessity of his actions. Kiran had taken a risk, hoping to free Veyle from the grip of darkness that had consumed her.

The rain continued to pour, its relentless rhythm echoing the intensity of the battle. Veyle's body trembled, her eyes still wide with shock as the influence that had plagued her began to weaken.

Alear's eyes were fixed on Veyle's convulsing body, her concern etched across her face. "Kiran, is it working?" she asked, her voice filled with anticipation and worry. She hoped that their risky move had succeeded in freeing Veyle from the malevolent influence.

Kiran, his gaze unwavering, observed Veyle's condition closely. "Just wait a bit, Alear," he replied, his voice tinged with caution. He sensed that something was happening, a shift in the energy surrounding Veyle.

As Veyle continued to scream and convulse uncontrollably, her body suddenly began to emit a radiant golden glow, with wisps of darkness leaking out of her body. Alear's eyes widened in astonishment, her heart racing with a mix of curiosity and concern. Then, Veyle's dark cloak was forcibly removed from her person, along with the six Emblem Rings that Sombron corrupted, with those items landing on the wet grass nearby. Then, the scene took an unexpected turn when a black jewel, which Veyle had obtained a few days prior, flew out of Veyle's pocket, absorbed those wisps of darkness, and landed on top of the dark cloak. Then, Veyle stopped screaming and fell unconscious in the wet grass.

Alear gently approached Veyle's unconscious body, carefully lifting Veyle into her arms. Meanwhile, Kiran's eyes fixated on the black jewel, his expression filled with a mixture of surprise and apprehension.

"If Veyle has been carrying that black jewel all along," Kiran grimaced. "Then this isn't a good sign."

The moment Kiran saw the black jewel, he sensed that there was more to this gem than their group had initially understood because he remembered that there was only one known user of black jewels - Ebony, the Shadow Director of the Curse Directive. Kiran assumed that Veyle must have picked the black jewel in an area where their group had encountered and defeated Ebony.

Suddenly, the black jewel began to transform, having absorbed the wisps of darkness that were expelled from Veyle's body, reforming itself into a duplicate of Veyle, but clad in a sinister black dress instead of the familiar white attire. As the new Veyle opened her red eyes, wore the dark cloak, and picked up the six tainted Emblem Rings, a malicious gleam within them.

"Kiran, you will pay for that slight!" She sneered, her voice filled with scorn. "I will enjoy brutally killing you very much!"

Then, new Veyle, now adorned in a black dress, unleashed a menacing dark beam from her Obscurité tome, while Kiran swiftly retaliated by conjuring a beam of brilliant light from his Breidablik. The opposing forces clashed, creating a mesmerizing display of intertwining light and darkness that showered the area.

During the intense battle, Baldraz, the spirit residing within the Breidablik, spoke urgently to Kiran. "Kiran, a Hero is attempting to be summoned at this crucial moment!" he revealed, his voice filled with a sense of urgency. "Be ready for that Hero, Kiran!"

The Breidablik held the potential to summon powerful allies to their aid, and it seemed that now was the opportune time for assistance.

As Baldraz's words echoed in his mind, Kiran's vision shifted, revealing a glimpse of the Hero that sought to be summoned. Recognition sparked within him, and he exclaimed, "I know who this Hero is!"

Kiran's voice resonated with a mixture of surprise and determination. Kiran had stumbled upon a revelation that would surely impact the course of the battle.

Alear, still carrying the unconscious Veyle in her arms, turned her attention to Kiran, her eyes filled with curiosity and concern. "What do you mean, Kiran? Who is that Hero that's being summoned?" she asked, her voice gentle yet eager for answers. She knew that Kiran's revelation held significance, even amidst the chaotic clash of beams.

As the collision of light and darkness continued to illuminate the battlefield, Kiran began to chant, his voice rising above the chaos. "Gathering stars to call upon the Divine One of another Elyos! Become the path its light shines upon!" His words held a cryptic power, a summoning incantation that would bring forth a Hero whose presence could tip the scales in their favor.

The rain poured relentlessly, bearing witness to the unfolding battle. Alear held Veyle tightly, her eyes shifting between the clash of beams and Kiran's determined expression. Their hopes rested on the summoning of this enigmatic Hero, as they fought to overcome the darkness that threatened to consume them all.

The clash of beams dissipated, giving way to the arrival of a Hero on the battlefield. As if responding to a hidden cue, the rain ceased, and the full moon emerged from behind the clouds, casting an ethereal glow upon the scene. Alear, Lumera, and everyone else in the group stood in awe, their eyes widening as they beheld the Hero that Kiran had summoned.

To their astonishment, the new Hero was a man who bore a striking resemblance to Alear, from the distinct red and blue streaks of hair to the attire he wore. The group exchanged glances of disbelief, struggling to comprehend the uncanny similarity between the newly summoned Hero and Alear herself.

Lumera, her voice tinged with surprise, spoke up, breaking the stunned silence. "Kiran, I must say, you have summoned an unexpected Hero," she remarked, her eyes fixed on the remarkable figure before them. The appearance of this new Hero defied their expectations, introducing an intriguing twist to the unfolding battle.

"Way to go, Kiran!" Alfred exclaimed. "No one, even me, expected his Breidablik to do that!"

"Oh my," Celine covered her mouth. "Is that who I think it is?"

"Now, that's an uncannily familiar face," Diamant remarked. "But, a welcome one."

"N-now that you mentioned it," Alcryst stammered. "This new Hero seems familiar..."

"In all our fights with Kiran," Alfonse admitted. "I truly never expected this."

"Oh!" Sharena exclaimed. "I didn't know the Breidablik can do that!"

"Kiran, this is incredible!" Fjorm said. "A new Hero joins us in this fight!"

"True," Commander Anna replied. "We'll take any Hero summoned by Kiran, unexpected or otherwise!"

On the other hand, Alear, her amazement evident in her voice, spoke with a mixture of wonder and excitement. "I can't believe it! This new Hero is a version of me, but as a man!" she exclaimed, her gaze locked on the Hero who stood before them. It was a perplexing sight, witnessing a version of herself in a different gender, yet still connected by an inexplicable bond.

As Kiran finished his chant, the atmosphere crackled with anticipation. "Hero Summon! I call forth Male Alear, the Dragon Youth!" he declared, his voice resolute. The newly summoned Hero stepped forward, his presence emanating strength and conviction.

Male Alear, his voice resonating with a deep and commanding timbre, introduced himself. "I am Male Alear, the Divine Dragon of another Elyos," he announced, his eyes gleaming with determination as he readied his Libération sword. "I am here to aid you, Kiran, and to stand beside my female counterpart in whatever way I can."

The battlefield stood shrouded in a mix of awe and uncertainty. The arrival of Male Alear, a reflection of Alear herself but in a different gender and appearance, had altered the course of the battle.

The newly formed Veyle, who was donning a black dress, glared at Male Alear with a mix of disdain and defiance. She directed her words at Kiran, her voice dripping with contempt.

"How dare you summon your Heroes to thwart Lord Sombron's plans, especially with you summoning that splitting image of the so-called Divine One!" The version of Veyle in the black dress spat, her red eyes burning with malice. The darkness that had consumed her seemed to fuel her anger, intensifying her desire to fulfill her master's sinister objectives.

Kiran, resolute in his response, addressed the Veyle garbed in a black dress. "From this moment forth, you shall be known as Evil Veyle," he declared, his voice firm and unwavering. He turned to Male Alear, issuing a command. "Male Alear, please knock Evil Veyle away from us," he ordered, his eyes fixed on his newly summoned ally.

Male Alear nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "Consider it done," he replied, his voice filled with determination. He readied his Libération sword, its gleaming edge reflecting his resolve. With purposeful strides, he charged towards Evil Veyle, his intent clear.

In a swift and calculated move, Male Alear struck Evil Veyle at the back of her head with the pommel of Libération. The forceful blow sent her spiraling into unconsciousness, her body crumpling to the ground.

"Sleep now," Male Alear declared as he sheathed his Libération and stared at Evil Veyle's unconscious body.

As several battalions of Corrupted soldiers along with the Four Hounds quickly approached the area, Alear, witnessing the fall of Evil Veyle, knew that now was the opportune moment for their group to retreat, having foregone the chance to retrieve the six tainted Emblem Rings due to the approaching Four Hounds along with their Corrupted reinforcements.

Alear's voice rang out, filled with urgency. "Now is our chance to retreat," she exclaimed, her gaze shifting between Kiran and the fallen Evil Veyle. She sensed the need to regroup and strategize for the battles yet to come.

Kiran nodded in agreement, his mind focused on their next steps. "We must carry Veyle to safety, preferably back at Somniel," he stated, his voice carrying a sense of responsibility. He understood the importance of protecting the real Veyle from further harm.

Alear, her eyes brimming with concern, asked the question that weighed on her mind. "Is the Veyle we have with us the real one?" she inquired, seeking confirmation amidst the chaos of the battlefield.

Kiran met Alear's gaze, his expression was serious yet reassuring. "Yes, Alear, this is the real Veyle. Her body and soul have been purged of the darkness that was tainting her, becoming the Evil Veyle who's also lying unconscious nearby," he confirmed, his voice resolute. He understood the significance of their mission and the trust they had placed in their allies. Together, they would ensure the safety of Veyle and persevere against the forces that sought to bring darkness upon their world.

Then, Kiran, aware of the pressing need for retreat, swiftly readied his Breidablik. With a focused determination, he aimed the weapon toward the ground and unleashed a beam of energy. The ground trembled as the beam struck, and before them, a magnificent portal materialized, radiating a brilliant light.

Stepping forward, Kiran addressed the group, his voice carrying a sense of urgency. "This portal leads back to Somniel, where we can rest and regroup," he explained, his words resonating with a mix of exhaustion and determination. He understood the importance of finding a haven to gather their strength before facing the challenges that awaited them.

Alear, her voice filled with conviction, rallied the group. "Let's all cross the portal to Somniel," she declared, her eyes scanning their surroundings. She knew that time was of the essence, and they needed to reach the safety of Somniel before the approaching Corrupted soldiers arrived.

Male Alear, his tone decisive, chimed in with agreement. "We must hurry before more Corrupted soldiers reach this area," he emphasized, his sense of responsibility evident in his words. He understood the imminent danger that lurked behind them, urging them to move swiftly.

As one, Alear, Kiran, and the rest of the group approached the portal, their determination etched across their faces. With each step, they left behind the unconscious body of Evil Veyle, who stirred in her slumber, unaware of their departure.

As they crossed the threshold of the portal, a sense of relief washed over them. They were transported through the ethereal gateway, leaving the battlefield behind and entering the familiar embrace of Somniel. Though the challenges ahead remained daunting, they now had the opportunity to rest, regroup, and prepare for the battles yet to come. Meanwhile, the unconscious form of Evil Veyle lay undisturbed, unaware of the fate that awaited her upon her awakening as the Four Hounds, along with multiple Corrupted soldiers closed into her location.

As Alear and Kiran's group emerged from the portal in the bustling Somniel Plaza, a collective sigh of relief escaped their lips. The tactical retreat they had just executed had narrowly succeeded, granting them a momentary respite from the chaos of battle.

Amidst the calming atmosphere, Alfonse, his voice calm yet resolute, spoke up. "Kiran... Sharena, Commander Anna, and I need to return to Zenith and compile a detailed report about the battle," he stated, his eyes meeting Kiran's. "And the Heroes you have summoned for the battle need to return to Askr Castle as well."

The responsibility of relaying the events that had unfolded fell upon their shoulders, ensuring that their superiors were informed of the situation.

Kiran nodded in agreement, acknowledging the importance of their task. "I understand. We do need plenty of rest after all that's happened," he replied, his voice carrying a hint of weariness. He knew that recounting the events accurately was crucial for the ongoing efforts to combat the encroaching darkness.

"I would also like to stay," Fjorm added, gripping her Leiptr tightly. "After all that's happened, I want to keep an eye on Kiran."

Male Alear interjected, his eyes focused on Kiran and his female counterpart. "I would also like to stay with Kiran alongside my female counterpart," he expressed, his voice filled with determination. He felt a strong connection to Kiran and Alear, and he wanted to stand alongside them in the battles that lay ahead.

"You two can stay with Kiran!" Sharena exclaimed. "After all, we do need some representatives from Zenith here in Elyos!"

Commander Anna, her tone measured yet accommodating, responded to Male Alear's request. "You may stay, Male Alear," she agreed, her gaze shifting between the group. "However, it is important that you eventually visit Askr to be properly oriented as a Hero," she added, emphasizing the significance of understanding his role within the Kingdom of Askr.

The group was united in their weariness, recognizing the need for rest after the tumultuous events they had endured. With the promise of a respite awaiting them, they dispersed, each heading towards their respective destinations. As they parted ways, the echoes of their shared experiences lingered, intertwining their fates and solidifying their resolve to face the darkness together.

As the group of Askrans and the majority of the Heroes Kiran had summoned made their way towards the Outrealm Gate to return to Zenith, Alear's Three Stewards, Vander, Clanne, and Framme, caught sight of the group. Vander, his eyes widening with relief and joy, spoke up as he recognized Alear and Male Alear among them.

"I'm overjoyed to see the Divine One safe and sound," Vander exclaimed, his voice filled with genuine happiness. However, a hint of confusion clouded his expression as he took in the sight of the two Divine Ones standing side by side. "But I can't help but wonder... Why are there two Divine Ones?"

Clanne, his gaze fixed on Alear and Male Alear, chimed in, his voice tinged with curiosity. "The resemblances are uncanny," he mused, his eyes flickering between the two counterparts. The striking similarities between Alear and Male Alear were undeniable, and it piqued his interest.

Male Alear, his voice calm and composed, responded to their inquiries. "I am indeed a version of Alear from another Elyos," he explained, his words carrying a sense of clarity. "However, I exist in the form of a man," he added, unraveling the mystery surrounding his appearance.

Framme, her eyes wide with astonishment, couldn't contain her excitement. "This is incredible!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with wonder. The realization that there existed another version of Alear, albeit in a different form, sparked a sense of awe within her.

Turning to Kiran, Framme directed her question towards him. "How did you manage to summon Male Alear?" she asked, seeking an explanation for this extraordinary occurrence.

Kiran, his expression thoughtful, responded with a hint of humility. "It was not I who summoned Male Alear," he clarified, his voice carrying a sense of wonder. "Male Alear summoned himself, not the other way around. It's hard to explain, but he did summon himself at a crucial moment," he explained, unveiling the unexpected nature of Male Alear's presence.

The revelation hung in the air, leaving the Three Stewards and the group of Heroes in a state of awe and curiosity. The enigmatic bond between Alear and Male Alear had brought them together, defying conventional understanding. As they prepared to embark on their separate paths, the mysteries surrounding their connections continued to deepen, weaving a tale that transcended the boundaries of their world.

Alear approached Vander, cradling the unconscious Veyle in her arms. She looked at him with a sense of urgency, her voice filled with concern. "Vander, please take Veyle to one of the bedrooms here in Somniel," she requested, her eyes conveying the importance of attending to the fallen warrior.

Vander nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "Consider it done," he assured Alear, his voice carrying a sense of reassurance. With careful steps, he carried Veyle towards one of the bedrooms within the sanctuary of Somniel, ensuring her safety and comfort.

As Vander departed with Veyle, Alear turned her attention to Framme and Clanne, her voice filled with warmth and curiosity. "How has Jean's training been progressing?" she inquired, her eyes darting between the two stewards. The growth and development of their fellow Hero held great significance in their ongoing battle against the encroaching darkness.

Clanne, a sense of pride evident in his tone, replied, "Jean is doing well in his training." His words carried a sense of satisfaction, reflecting the progress Jean had made under their guidance.

Framme interjected with an enthusiastic tone, her excitement palpable. "Clanne and I have been training and coaching Jean over the past few days," she revealed, her voice brimming with enthusiasm. The opportunity to nurture and guide a fellow Hero filled her with a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

Alear's smile widened, a sense of gratification shining in her eyes. "That's wonderful to hear," she expressed, her voice filled with genuine joy. She recognized the importance of their collective efforts in honing Jean's skills, preparing him for the battles that lay ahead.

Clanne, his commitment unwavering, responded with a resolute tone. "We will continue Jean's training as you have instructed," he affirmed, understanding the weight of Alear's words.

Framme echoed her brother's sentiment, her voice unwavering. "Indeed, we will do as the Divine One says," she assured Alear, their dedication to the cause evident in their words.

"I'd like to go around Somniel," Male Alear said as he looked at Kiran and Alear. "I'm curious to see the similarities and differences between my Somneil and her Somniel."

"You can go along with us, Divine One," Clanne said, smiling at Male Alear.

"Oh, this is going to be exciting!" Framme exclaimed. "Having to guide another version of the Divine One here at Somniel! I can't wait."

As Male Alear, Clanne, and Framme departed from the area, Ivy approached Alear, her voice tinged with urgency.

"Alear, our group needs to make our way to the Queendom of Solm soon," Ivy stated, her eyes reflecting a hint of hesitation.

Alear, sensing Ivy's unease, looked at her with concern. "What's troubling you, Ivy?" she asked, her voice gentle yet probing. She recognized the importance of addressing any concerns that arose within their group.

Ivy took a moment before responding, her voice carrying a mix of sadness and determination. "I... I hate having to abandon Hortensia, but I can't return to Elusia right now," she admitted, her gaze drifting towards the distance. The weight of leaving behind the place they once called home weighed heavily on her heart, but she knew that staying in Elusia was not a viable option.

Diamant, his voice filled with a touch of bitterness, interjected with a remark. "Tonight, our group has suffered many losses," he stated, his eyes reflecting a sense of grief. From the loss of his father to the six Emblem Rings, the weight of their sacrifices bore down on him.

Alfred, his tone solemn, spoke up in agreement. "We cannot turn back, even if it pains us," he declared, his voice carrying a resolute determination. The realization that they had already sacrificed so much spurred him onward, reminding him of the stakes at hand. Losing everything was a possibility they couldn't afford.

The gravity of their situation hung in the air, as the group grappled with the sacrifices they had made and the path that lay ahead. Yet, they understood that perseverance was their only option, as they embarked on a journey that demanded their unwavering resolve.

A sense of solemnity settled over the group as Alear lowered her head in a bow, her voice filled with regret. "I apologize," she began, her words heavy with remorse. "I never should have brought all of you to Destinea Cathedral," she admitted, her voice tinged with sorrow. The weight of her decision weighed heavily on her conscience.

Diamant, understanding the weight of his actions, respectfully bowed in response. "I apologize as well," he expressed, his voice carrying a mix of regret and understanding. He recognized that his anger and desire for vengeance had clouded his judgment, leading to the events that unfolded.

Alcryst, acknowledging his role in the series of events, spoke up with a tone of remorse. "I'm sorry too," he confessed, his voice filled with regret. The desire to bring his father back to Brodia had clouded his judgment, leading to unintended consequences.

Ivy, her expression compassionate, stepped forward and handed the Ring of the Princess Exalt over to Alear. Her voice held a hint of resolution as she addressed the group. "We all made mistakes," she acknowledged, her words carrying a sense of understanding. "But we cannot let our past mistakes overshadow our present judgment," she added, emphasizing the importance of learning from their errors and forging a new path forward.

To lift the heavy and somber mood, Kiran spoke up, his voice filled with a touch of optimism. "Although the situation could have taken a turn for the worse, we are all still alive," he stated, his eyes scanning the faces of his companions. He wanted to remind them of the silver lining amidst the darkness that surrounded them.

Alear, her gaze fixed on Kiran, furrowed her brows in confusion. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice tinged with curiosity. She sought clarification, eager to understand the meaning behind Kiran's words.

Kiran, his expression serious yet determined, continued. "While we may have lost the first six Emblem Rings to Sombron," he began, his voice filled with resolve, "we have managed to purify two new Emblem Rings in return." He emphasized the significant achievement they had made and the balance of losses and gains that unfolded in their journey.

"Additionally," Kiran added, his tone carrying a hint of satisfaction, "We have successfully rescued the real Veyle from Sombron and his forces."

Celine, her voice filled with intrigue, interjected with a question that weighed heavily on their minds. "What about the Veyle that appeared before us?" she asked, her voice tinged with curiosity. The presence of the enigmatic Evil Veyle had left them with many unanswered questions.

"Oh, right," Kiran nodded. "But, please refer to that version of Veyle as 'Evil Veyle', to clarify things."

Alear, her eyes filled with understanding, nodded in agreement with Celine's question. "Alright. Kiran, why did you choose not to kill Evil Veyle?" she asked, her voice carrying a mix of curiosity and concern. She sought insight into Kiran's reasoning, eager to understand the complexities surrounding their encounters with Veyle.

Celine and Alear's questions lingered in the air, prompting Kiran to delve into deep contemplation. After a moment of pondering, he turned to Alear and the rest of the group, his voice measured and thoughtful. "When I fired the Golden Summon Orb at Veyle earlier, it likely purified her from the force that was controlling her," he began, his words carrying a sense of certainty.

"However," Kiran continued, his voice filled with concern, "I cannot risk causing any harm to Veyle's fragile body and soul, especially since she is currently unconscious."

Alfred, his mind racing with possibilities, chimed in with a theory. "Perhaps Evil Veyle is still technically a part of the real Veyle," he postulated, his voice tinged with curiosity. The notion of their connection prompted him to explore the intricate web that bound them together.

Kiran, considering Alfred's theory, nodded in agreement. "That is a reasonable theory," he acknowledged, his voice filled with a sense of agreement. The possibility that Evil Veyle represented a fragment of the real Veyle offered a new perspective on their encounters, urging them to dig deeper into the enigma that surrounded her.

Kiran's gaze locked with Alear's, determination evident in his eyes. "And Alear, since I fired the Golden Summon Orb at Veyle," he began, his voice resolute, "It's now my responsibility to complete the summoning process and bring Veyle forth as a Hero."

Alear's eyes widened in surprise, a mix of curiosity and concern crossing her face. "Does Veyle possess the potential to be summoned as a Hero?" she asked, her voice filled with genuine curiosity. She sought to understand the implications of Kiran's decision and the potential it held for their endeavors.

Kiran nodded, his expression earnest as he explained further. "Yes, Veyle indeed has the potential to be summoned as a Hero. Completing the summoning process will not only allow Veyle to be summoned as a Hero," he began, his voice carrying a hint of assurance, "But, it will also grant us the ability to fight Evil Veyle without fear of causing any harm to the real Veyle."

Alear, recognizing the strategic importance of Kiran's plan, nodded in agreement. "You're right," she acknowledged, her voice filled with determination. "But before we proceed, we all need to rest and gather our strength," she added, emphasizing the importance of regaining their energy after a long and arduous day.

Kiran's smile mirrored Alear's sentiment as he agreed wholeheartedly. "You're right, Alear," he concurred, his voice reflecting a sense of relief. "We should rest up for the night and be ready to face the challenges that await us in the morning."

And so, the group dispersed, making their way to their respective bedrooms within the sanctuary of Somniel. They sought solace in the embrace of sleep, knowing that they had earned a well-deserved respite. As they closed their eyes, their minds filled with determination and the hope of a brighter future, they allowed the healing power of rest to wash over them, preparing them for the battles that awaited them on the morrow.

In the depths of Elusia outside Destinea Cathedral, Evil Veyle's eyes fluttered open, greeted by the presence of the Four Hounds and several battalions of corrupted beings.

Griss, his voice dripping with arrogance, took pleasure in taunting her. "Well, well, you slept like a log for a couple of hours," he remarked, his tone laced with mockery.

Evil Veyle's glare pierced through Griss as she snapped at him, her voice filled with venom. "Silence!" she commanded, her words cutting through the air like a blade. She would not tolerate his insolence.

Turning her attention to Zephia, Evil Veyle spoke with an air of authority. "Zephia, what is the status of the six Emblem Rings that we acquired?" she inquired, her voice carrying a sense of urgency. She needed to assess the current state of their resources.

Zephia responded, her voice calm and collected. "While we still possess the six Emblem Rings we took from the Divine One," she began, her tone tinged with a hint of disappointment, "We lost two Emblem Rings in exchange during our encounter with Alear and Kiran."

A dark cloud of frustration settled over Evil Veyle as she sulked, her determination growing. "Alear and Kiran will pay for defying me and Lord Sombron," she vowed, her voice filled with malice. The defiance they had shown would not go unpunished.

Mauvier, recognizing Evil Veyle's need for rest, spoke up with concern. "Lady Veyle, you should rest and recuperate first," he advised, his voice carrying a note of caution. The events that had unfolded demanded a moment of respite.

Evil Veyle sighed, the weight of recent events weighing heavily on her. "Perhaps I do need to recuperate for a few days. Come with me. Lord Sombron needs to be informed of the events that transpired tonight," she admitted, her voice tinged with exhaustion. The toll of their encounters and schemes had taken their toll on her, and she knew that rest was necessary to regain her strength.

As Evil Veyle accompanied the Four Hounds back at Destinea Cathedral, her mind simmered with plans of revenge, fueled by her determination to make Alear and Kiran pay for their defiance. In the shadows of Elusia, she would gather her strength, plotting her next move with a fervor that matched the intensity of her wrath.

And there you have it! This is the latest chapter of Emblems and Heroes!

To all the people who offered advice in brainstorming this story, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

And here is a Stinger this time...

In the early hours of the morning, a gentle hush filled the corridors of Somniel. Alear, still clad in her usual attire, made her way to the bedroom where Vander had placed Veyle. In the darkened halls, she unexpectedly encountered Fjorm, the Princess of the Kingdom of Nifl, who was also dressed in her usual attire, apparently going to the same room as Alear.

"Ah, Princess Fjorm," Alear said, having not expected Fjorm to be up at the same time as her. "What brings you here?"

"Alear, I was going to ask you the same question," Fjorm replied. "I want to see Kiran. According to Vander, he's in Veyle's room."

"Then, what are we waiting for?" Alear smiled. "Let's meet up with Kiran together."

Pushing the door open, Alear and Fjorm were met with the sight of Kiran, sitting attentively in a chair near Veyle's motionless form. The soft, white glow emanating from his Breidablik cast a serene light upon the room.

Alear greeted Kiran with a warm smile, her voice soft and gentle. "Good morning, Kiran. Fjorm and I are wondering what you are doing here in Veyle's room," she offered, her words carrying a sense of tranquility. She and Fjorm couldn't help but wonder why he was in Veyle's room at such an early hour.

Kiran, his gaze fixed on Veyle, turned to face Alear, his expression calm and focused. "Ah, Alear and Fjorm. I'm checking Veyle's vital signs. She seems okay at the moment," he explained, his voice filled with earnestness. He understood the importance of monitoring her condition, especially after the events that had transpired.

"And it seems you two have the same ideas," Kiran said to Alear and Fjorm, a hint of amusement touching his voice.

Alear and Fjorm chuckled softly, her eyes glancing over Veyle's peaceful form. She pulled a chair closer, settling herself beside Kiran and Veyle.

"Yes, Veyle does seem to be sleeping peacefully," Alear remarked, her voice filled with a sense of relief. The sight of her resting peacefully brought a measure of solace to their hearts.

"After all that's happened to her," Fjorm remarked. "But, even I don't know when Veyle will wake up."

Kiran nodded in agreement, his gaze softening as he observed Veyle's serene slumber. "Don't worry about that, Fjorm. Veyle will be able to wake up once the summoning process is completed," he responded, his voice carrying a touch of tenderness. He understood the importance of these quiet moments, where Veyle's troubled spirit found respite within the realm of dreams.

As Veyle lay peacefully on the bed, Alear turned to Kiran, her voice soft and filled with vulnerability. "When Sombron took away the six Emblem Rings, I felt like all hope had been lost in that moment," she admitted, her words carrying a hint of sorrow. The weight of their losses had tested her resilience, leaving her feeling adrift in a sea of uncertainty.

"I can relate to your plight as well," Fjorm puts her hand on Alear's shoulder. "My homeland was destroyed by King Surtr of Múspell. But not only that... I watched as he killed my mother, but Kiran and the Order of Heroes helped me fight back and ultimately defeat Surtr."

"You too, huh?" Alear replied as she looked at Fjorm. "I guess I can safely say I'm not the only one who's harboring similar sorrows."

Kiran, his gaze filled with empathy, nodded in understanding. "Alear, Fjorm... I know that feeling all too well," he replied, his voice tinged with a touch of melancholy. "During my first few years as the Summoner in service to the Kingdom of Askr, I have experienced the despair of losing something precious," he confessed. The memories of battles fought and sacrifices made lingered within him, a constant reminder of the toll their journey had taken.

Alear's eyes widened, filled with a mix of admiration and gratitude. She looked at Kiran, her voice filled with heartfelt sincerity. "To me, you are like a beacon of light and hope. Kiran, you snapped me from the depths of despair and back into the light," she expressed, her voice brimming with appreciation. In the face of darkness, he had remained steadfast, guiding them with unwavering determination.

"And to me, you're the light of motivation that has kept me going," Fjorm admitted. "After the events that involved the eponymous gods that gave their name to the Kingdoms of Nifl and Muspell, I swore to protect you against any enemy not just to the Nine Realms, but to other worlds as well."

Kiran smiled warmly, his reply lifted by Alear and Fjorm's words. "My name does mean 'ray of light'. Sharena used to tease me back in Askr due to the meaning of my name," he remarked, a note of playfulness in his voice. The meaning behind his name seemed to have found a purpose in their journey, shining a light amidst the shadows that threatened to consume them.

"I see," Alear remarked as she stared at Veyle, then at Kiran. "Kiran's name means a ray of light, huh..."

"Kiran is the ray of light that motivates us," Fjorm remarked. "A ray of light that connects us..."

Kiran then turned his attention to Alear, his voice taking on a more serious tone. "You both need to get some rest for tomorrow," he advised, his voice filled with determination. "I will need both your help to complete Veyle's summoning process," he added, emphasizing the importance of their collaboration. The path ahead was arduous, but together, they would overcome the challenges that lay in wait.

Alear nodded, her eyes reflecting a renewed sense of purpose. "I will be ready," she affirmed, her voice filled with determination.

"As am I," Fjorm nodded as she replied to Kiran. "I'll help you both in completing Veyle's summoning process tomorrow."

In the quietude of the room, Alear, Fjorm, and Kiran found solace in their connection, drawing strength from each other's presence. As they prepared for the trials that awaited them, they knew that together, they could face whatever darkness lay ahead, guided by the ray of light that Kiran embodied.
