Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto or Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid!
Lucoa couldn't help but let out a whoop of sheer joy, her entire body bouncing up and down when the truck swerved frantically to the left, as the Uzumaki surprised her for the umpteenth time!
"Lucao be a bit more serious here-!"
"How can I when we're having so much fun!" The woman giggled in delight when they drifted into a semi circle inside the road.
She was starting to see a pattern here.
He was a man of many surprises! Oh so many the dragon couldn't wait till he showed her even more!
Eyes filled with joy looked down at his hands, aged though they were, moving limberly over the wheel like a man half past his age.
'It's like an art on its own.' She thought admiring the way his hands calmly maneuvered around the wheel as he lost another one of their pursuers with ease that begot true skill. She knew a good amount about these unreliable human contraptions. They were just more fancy, efficient horse carriages right? More complicated for sure but the same in practice.
So she could easily tell he was basically using it as an extension of his body. Every tick and twitch of his hands commanded the entire truck in a way she didn't think he could fathom.
It was an old human practice where those who trained in the way of the sword had to become one with their blade to be qualified as true masters and she was witnessing one today.
She nearly squealed, not because she cared much about the practice but because it was him.
So caught up in her fangirling as she leaned forward watching her friend, she was unable to dodge the head flick in time, only seeing it in slow motion.
'Oh dear, that's going to hurt-'
"Eep! Mr Uzumaki?!" The dragon actually squealed this time, when instead he simply honked her nose like a horn, getting the dragon to quickly slap the hand away and cover it up with an uncharacteristic slight blush creeping in.
'T-this old man! Did he think of me as a 100 year old hatchling that needs scolding?!' Yet she couldn't deny being treated so casually made her feel so hot, like they were actually friends-
"Lucoa…my crazy, beautiful friend. I know this is my fault but can you please HELP before the helicopters come?! Stop spacing out woman!" He yelled hysterically, evidently done with her bullshit as he tried waking her up from her induced state.
Unfortunately or fortunately for him he didn't quite realize how the attention starved dragon may take his words as he glanced at her in startled confusion hearing the sharp breath emanate from her.
'Did he just call me…s-so forward?!' The dragon evidently didn't realize he was calling her crazy and beautiful as her heart began beating a bit faster as she was put on the backfoot. Wasn't it too fast?! They hadn't even known each other for a week yet!
However wasn't this the pace she wanted the most? She didn't actually know what she wanted from him more friendship, companionship, a equal or maybe something more but-
She knew she wanted more. Now. Now!
Her eyes roamed him as she began squeezing her hand trying to calm down. She wished she could just reach over, attach herself to him like a leech and just hasten the process of getting closer artificially! She didn't know why she felt so impatient but she just wanted to be closer and it was driving her crazy!
Was this how humans felt? How did they cope with this pandering and the constant feeling of wasting time? The incessant need to move things along so slowly when they were right in front of them?! Why couldn't she just force herself onto him until he fully accepted her as a part of his life? Why did she constrain herself to human sensibilities when she was so much more?
--
'In fact, why can't I do that? Who can stop me?'
She quickly shook her head, trying to snap out of her daze.
'NO! I need to calm down. I need to calm down, calm down, calm down-' She took deep breaths, trying to center herself before she did something she might (not) regret.
Unfortunately for her self-control-
"Lucoa, are you okay?! Damn, sorry for pushing you so hard, you're not used to this, huh?" Heterochromatic eyes with slit pupils opened slowly, revealing a look of complete bewilderment as they focused on the large hand suddenly covering hers.
The dragon could only watch in mute surprise, her heart racing as the warm, hot hand moved up her arm, to her biceps, then her shoulder, neck, and cheek in quick succession leaving a trail of sparks all over her weak human flesh getting her body to jerk as her eyes darted to it.
"You don't seem to have a fever. Crap, let's see if we can get rid of these guys—"
The woman shivered, feeling the feather-light touch withdraw, while his deeply concerned open blue eyes, which had met hers briefly, keeping eye contact, moved away.
…
His touch lingered on her skin like some kind of muscle memory, even as his hand pulled away. It wasn't faint but insistent as she felt the pulses on her cheek, the blood rushing causing her to look like a certain reindeer's nose.
Her thoughts were jumbled and confused at the rapid mix of emotions he made her feel. She could only work on auto pilot as her body nearly sank in the chair, melting and she crawled over, her limbs shaking with impulsive need, ripping the seat belt apart, her hair shadowing her nearly closed smokey eyes and-
'Mine.'
Glomp!
"Oh shi-"
Booooooom!
"Ohhh I'm Sowwy~…" Lucoa moaned in apology as she got dragged along by the Uzumaki who proceeded to ignore her.
She clamped her mouth shut and looked down with red cheeks. Why did it feel like she was being scolded…
On top of that she was being carried under his arm like a sack of potatoes as apparently she couldn't be trusted not to do something foolish which she couldn't truly deny sadly…
'I should have planned that out more…it seems I'm losing my grip near him.' Lucoa thought as she hung like a juicy piece of meat. She couldn't quite say she regretted it, but she definitely regretted the consequences!
After all, the man had been very touchy with having physical contact with her, so the fact that he bypassed that easily to pull her off her feet and haul her like some disobedient child was saying something.
She wiggled getting comfortable, observing as he slipped behind a wall, his gaze fixed on a human police car cruising by in a steady patrol. It struck her as peculiar that they had to navigate around the blockade
'Surely, it would make more sense to escape in the opposite direction, wouldn't it?' She mused, a flicker of amusement crossing her mind. He was just as dismissive of human norms as her wasn't he?
She didn't mind. In fact it was all the better!
The elder Uzumaki began moving fluidly across the street, melding into the rowdy crowd, his presence almost invisible as he went past wary eyes and suspicious glances, each step calculated.
That was until they made it to where he was obviously trying to carry them both and it fell all in place for her.
"A cinema?! So you were serious…!" Lucoa said, astonished and delighted as she looked upwards. The older marquee seemed a bit broken down and the dirt covered large glass doors that led to a rather classy if not old fashioned lobby.
"Did you think I would lie about that? Here put these on." He smiled, dropping a pair of shoes he got from somewhere on the ground before his grip on her shifted.
Lucoa squirmed, feeling the hands on her waist dropping her down, looking at him the entire time. She wasn't quite sure she had been in such an embarrassing situation before.
"Thank you Naruto…" She raised her hands instinctively but grimaced when he looked at her strangely before walking around her.
'Awwww…' Putting them back down feeling sad, she shifted downwards fixing the shoes properly as she pouted wondering how she could fix this.
Well that was what she was doing until she heard the loud clatter and clank of metal rattling as it hit the ground harshly.
Her gaze inclined downwards in disbelief towards the heavy duty chain with a way too clean cut down on the floor.
She looked back up towards his face that was now peering at her sheepishly.
"It was just rusty, you know?"
'That's obviously a lie!'
"Now let's go- no wait! Follow my lead!" Lucoa watched in confusion as the old man's stance that was once upright and tall became frail and shriveled. It was like his spine compressed with how much smaller he became!
'Why are you so random?!' The supreme dragon goddess hypocrite asked befuddled before glancing over to the footsteps she heard coming quickly.
2 Japanese police officers walked up to them looking tense before they calmed down clearly labeling them not a threat.
"Good afternoon! I am officer Akira and this is officer Takiwara, we would like to know if you saw a pair of suspicious people walking by. They are suspected criminals!" The man who stepped forward made sure to flash his badge as he stared Lucoa directly in the eyes enamored.
Lucoa didn't notice, she who wanted to spend the rest of her day alone with her companion in solace was about to mind wipe them into a inky black abyssal oblivion, her mana already primed and ready-
"Ohhh sonny, is that you A-Akhibara kun? Why, I remember you when you were just a babe!" Lucoa gaped as the old man walking forward had transformed again when she looked away.
Now instead of just becoming nearly an entire foot shorter he was shaking like he had parkinson's. He also had some kind of brown cane in his hand using it like a walking stick, and he was squinting everywhere as if he couldn't see.
"...uhm sir? It's Akira-" The uncomfortable police officer took a step back before he was seized by an iron claw.
"That's good sonny. Now how is Maya doing young man? We used to be best friends you know? Such a ball of sunshine that one…" He shook his head with a fond, nostalgic sigh looking up at the scared officer with a twinkle in his eye.
"Uh sir, can you just answer the question? And why are you at a known abandoned site?!" The officer who was clearly unsettled at the older man's words tried freeing himself.
"We shared everything together. Our first date, kiss and haah….sometimes I wonder…" Lucoa watched with rapt attention as the old man's squinted eyes opened to gaze at the random man fondly feeling like she was actually at an opera. Some kind of play really.
"Young man…do you know who your father is? Your real one? Has she ever told you? I always suspected b-but…you're my splitting image son! Give your old man a hug!" His eyes were filled with joyful tears as he brought the dumbfounded man for the hug..
The man's face looked so terrified that Lucoa would wonder how she kept her composure at that moment for the rest of her life.
"You truly know how to have fun Naruto kun. How did you come up with something like that on the spot?" Lucoa asked, quite curious as she idly cleaned the dusty chair sitting down. She began watching the elder Uzumaki flipping the light switch, with them flickering as if out of power before they stayed on.
They were in the projection booth, apparently where the film reels were dealt with before being projected onto the big movie screen in the area down below. He had been more than happy to tell her about it.
"When you get to my age you learn how to deal with these kinds of problems. Life is nothing more than a game of experience. After all…not everything can be dealt with via brute force."
Now that statement would have been fine had he not been glancing at her at the time. However he had been doing so, as such she looked away innocently wondering how much he knew.
She would admit hiding was a teensy bit harder than she anticipated but that had more to do with how little he seemed to care for her oddities and how much he was growing on her.
Still he said something that shocked her as he pulled out an old box of film reels to inspect them.
"And it isn't like I told a lie exactly."
…
"Huh w-what do you mean by that?!" Her mouth gaped open as she stared at him blankly. Was he insinuating that he had kids?! The thought had never once even crossed her mind and now cute blue eyed children were popping up in her vision non stop!
Her fingers twitched with a sudden need to pinch chubby hatchling cheeks and she couldn't help but swallow roughly feeling like her body was burning up.
Either he didn't hear her or he didn't care to answer but he smiled looking back with his blue eyes shining in mischief
"So what kind of movie do you want to watch?"
"..." She squinted at him in silence letting him know what she thought at his avoidance of the question. Of course that had nothing to do with how bothered she was at the previous image.
"Okay so you can choose between Shadows of the Shinobi, Ninja Nightfall, The Silent Blade, Return of the Ninja Warriors…."
"Na ru to kun…."
"Ugh. You're like a bloodhound Lucoa. No. This old man doesn't have any brats okay? I'm not that irresponsible." He clicked his tongue digging in the box and the dragon sagged down rubbing her red cheeks.
Whether it was in relief or disappointment was yet to be seen.
"That was a mean spirited joke, Naruto kun…you know better mister!"
"Right right, sorry Lucoa chan~ This old man will try growing up." He teased her as she paused at the address and even though she knew it was supposed to be pandering to her she couldn't find it in herself to bite back at it.
"…. Well I'm glad you know~ Now what do you have for us to watch?" She got up kneeling, crossing her arms over her heavy bust, looking at the box in curiosity. All the films were definitely old, though the dust amount hinted to her that they hadn't been touched in some time.
'Strange. With his age you'd think they'd be much duster. Like an old man who is unveiling his childhood secrets long forgotten. Instead it seems he came here not too long ago already. A year or two probably.' She thought, sending a subtle glance at his contemplating face wondering if her hypothesis was really true.
"Here! This one definitely shows exactly what it means to be a ninja. Let's watch this one." He told her while holding it up with a wide childish smile.
Lucoa, who had been expecting something truly worthy of awe, read it and immediately sweatdropped.
For 5 seconds she simply stared at the image of the fat man with blonde hair before looking up into the shining eyes of her companion.
"Beverly Hills Ninja? I'm afraid you don't know what a ninja is, Naruto."
"Hah? I'll have you know this old man used to-"
She smirked seeing him clamp up from his over excited babble clearly catching on to himself before he let out some deep dark, horrible secret. Ninjas huh? Intriguing~
"Used to what Naruto? Don't keep me in suspense~"
"W-well I used to…study them I guess?" The man told a bold-faced lie as he tried to get up but she gripped his pants leg biting her lip in regret that she didn't actually know that part of human history well enough to test him.
"I'll believe that one for now but shouldn't you let the guest pick the movie? You're being a bit rude…" She plucked the film reel right out of his hand, getting him to yell indignantly, as she held him back.
'Ufufu if you didn't want this to happen you should have hidden it away before no?!' She giggled digging in the box for a title she had peeked before she said 'Ah ha!' as she found it, placing it inside his suddenly shaking hands.
"I don't even remember this being in there! Sorry Lucoa but there's no way I'm watching some sappy-"
"Well~ action is all well and good but I'd rather have a good old romance. Unless you're too chicken for it? Shaking in your ancient britches old man?!" She placed her hands under her armpits looking him directly in the eyes.
Bawk Bawk Bawk!
His face crumpled.
"Listen do I look like some dumb teen easily anger-
BawkBawkBawkBawk!
"T-that is not going to work-!"
CluckCluckCluck
"Lucoa-!"
Baaaawk!
Boing!
About to make fun of him more Lucoa paused when the tick mark on his head left and the slightly angered red hue turned into a dazed look as he turned away getting up, muttering to himself as he began preparing the reel.
Confused at the abrupt change, Lucoa looked down at herself before blinking, seeing one of her mammaries spilling out of the top of her skirt nearly coming completely undone.
'Hmmm~?' With a calm smile she tucked it back in with some difficulty before grinning up at him with her eyes nearly closed.
"So you're weak to breasts huh? Good to know!" She had not been completely sure before but what a golden piece of information, she had lots of it to go around!
"Lucoa!"
"Hey where are the drinks?" She whispered, settling in her chair looking around furtively as the screen began playing.
The man looked up, a puzzled expression crossing his face before he looked around quickly."I thought you carried them with you?"
The woman frowned. "I left you with everything while I went to the restroom you dumbass! Where the hell are they?! I spent my money on those and the popcorn is gone too!"
The man was sweating looking around but obviously he didn't find them."I-I.."
"Are you kidding me?" she replied, her voice rising causing a commotion in the stands. "Did you eat them while I was gone?"
"Why would I do that?" He protested, looking genuinely baffled.
"Because you are a slob! I'm always cleaning after you like some kind of mother and now you're stealing my shit?! This is not what I wanted in this relationship!" She hissed glaring at him.
He glared back, frustration mounting. "You're making a big deal out of nothing!"
"Nothing? Nothing-?!"
"Whoopsie…?" Lucoa blinked watching as the human security guards came to break up the couple's fight through her portal as she munched on some recently acquired popcorn.
" Ah. I'm sure they'll be fine!" She said as she slammed the portal shut seeing them being escorted out as she looked at her conquests with a smile. She hadn't gone too overboard just scanning the country quickly before dipping in and taking what she needed. After all, what was a romantic evening without refreshments?
She had also gone out to make sure those pesky officers didn't come and bother them either.
Speaking of that…
Lucoa looked up, seeing the lights dimming and she heard the soft hum of the projector beginning to fill the quiet air.
Dust motes danced lazily in the faint beam of light, creating a glow that flickered against the screen.
She settled deeper into her seat that was covered in a blanket, plush and soft like a cocoon enveloping her, cradling her as the first images flickered to life. In this solitary space she soon felt the world outside fading away…
'Wooow, he really knows how to set the mood huh? Was this intentional?' It would be terrifying no matter the answer.
"Achoo~" Lucoa slunked back into the chair covered with a sheet sneezing cutely as some of the dust got into her nose but she braved it knowing she would be rewarded.
"Hmmm." She glanced at the arm rest on her right side with narrowed eyes knowing it would mess with her plans…
Snap
Zoom
Said arm rest was now spiraling into the infinite void between worlds and she now had more space for her…activities.
"Hmpf!" The dragon felt so smug as she nearly giggled to herself, mentally patting herself on the back.
Now nothing could interfere!
She glanced at the footsteps beating down on the steps feeling as excited as she had the day they met.
"Come hither, to mine humble abode that doth warmly welcome thee!" She intoned mysteriously, feeling mischievous as he finally reached the middle of the seats looking at her, then to the makeshift camp along with the food in bafflement.
"Lucoa, where the hell did you get all of this?!"
"Pray tell, may I ask whence thou didst procure these exquisite blankets that have never been sullied? Perchance summoned from the very air?" She asked instead with a smirk as he stiffened looking away quickly. Had he waited she would have just made some from her scales but he now exposed his hand.
"I shall refrain from inquiry, if thou dost as well~"
He slowly looked at her with reluctant amusement in his eyes.
"I have no clue what you're talking about and please stop speaking so old fashioned. It's weird. You're like 20 or something ain't you?" He made a disgusted face, taking the box of popcorn before sitting in the chair beside her.
"You're no fun Naruto."
"Good. I'm too old for that crap anyway!"
She snorted a small laugh at the gritty riposte, thriving in the casual way it was spat.
Yes. This was the man she wanted to see.
"No. In fact I think you're still a bit too young to be saying such things Naruto kun."
He stilled in response and she kept her laughter down at the complete overreaction.
"You're never too old to have fun of course! Now quiet down, it's starting!" She shifted closer but stopped prematurely knowing she had to ease into it despite how much she wanted the opposite.
So instead she sulked looking towards the screen before she blinked feeling her senses tingle in danger.
"Stay sharp and focused! Grab a can of Zenith Energy-"
"Is that a-" She paled.
"Yup." The Uzumaki said sympathetically as he nodded looking at the screen in menace.
"They're here too?!" It was like someone took the dragon's candy away for somehow ads returned!
After a lengthy process of ads that had no right in being so long the movie finally began playing and Lucoa, while mildly interested in it, still had her plan to initiate.
She would get her snuggles and she didn't care who had to get hurt for it! Except for the obvious of course…
"In a land where shadows dance and hearts intertwine, a tale of forbidden love begins..." The narrator spoke as the dragon forcefully lowered her body with an internal cooling spell. Luckily for her she was in her humanoid body otherwise this would never work.
'Oh dear that was a bad idea, bad bad-!' She thought, feeling the rush of unfamiliar sensations flood through her as she shivered like a wilted leaf taking a shuddering breath.
"Lucoa?"
"Yesss?"
"W-why does it feel like I just stepped into freezing water." She could hear his teeth chattering and she glanced over sheepishly seeing him looking at her in accusation clearly knowing something wasn't right.
"F-faulty air conditioning perhaps?"
"I turned it on low!"
"Faulty being the keyword."
His eyes twitched and he sneezed, getting her to look away feeling very guilty as she closed her eyes, shivering.
'I just need to wait it out!' She was determined despite feeling like her fingers were becoming numb. They could just grow back but snuggles were eternal!
And her faith was rewarded! Kind of…
"Here, I think you need this more than me." Unable to keep the giddy smile off her face, Lucoa basked in the warmth of his muscular….
'Waaaah?! A blanket?! No. Nooooo!' She nearly cried out in sadness feeling the cotton fabric wrapping around her shoulders with him even patting her back for good measure as she sat dazed.
In shambles at her plan failing, unable to come out and say she wanted to be hugged, she could only turn her downcast eyes to screen, feeling especially lonely.
"Thank you Naruto…"
Sad times.
"Focus, Gennosuke. You can't let emotions get in the way!"
Aged blue eyes drifted away from the chaotic battle unfolding on the screen, lost in silent contemplation as they settled on the somber beauty, their eyes also focused on the screen, though the small mouth was occupied with an endless stream of popcorn and soda.
A finger tapped the armrest of the chair in indecision. It was silent, erratic and so fast that it appeared to be in the same place despite moving so much.
The blue eyes, though they attempted to refocus on the screen, were drawn once more to the shiver that ran through the other figure pausing their eating.
The wrinkled finger curled tightly, before the others followed forming a fist before slowly relaxing, the tension easing as it opened again. A decision was soon made despite the embarrassment it would elicit.
Blue eyes closed for less than a second but when they opened they seemed decades younger. Filled with determination and optimism.
A deep breath was taken in and-
"Lucoa…." His voice came over filled with strange tones that got her attention. More than he did already anyway.
"Yes?" She tilted her head over, confused, having been very interested in the romance between Gennosuke and Oboro despite the bloodshed between their clans. Humans made such fascinating stories, she knew that from long ago.
"…would you like to…come closer? To keep warm you know? You don't have to though…"
Blink blink.
Bit by bit the female dragon's eyes widened as she stared blankly at him, the unexpected words running havoc in her brain.
'Am I dreaming?' She was her first thought with her mouth now open slightly in sheer surprise.
If that didn't serve to make the pink muscle short circuit, the shy way he lifted his arm, as if welcoming her to come closer certainly did.
For a second everything was silent-
And the next second?
…
Glomp.
"Huh. You must've been really cold."
She was at his side in an instant.
The thinking train had left a while ago, and the dragon found herself acting purely on instinct, surging toward him like a wave with deep cravings.
"Mnfufufu~!" Lucoa let out a soft, playful hum as she wrapped her arms around his waist, pressing herself tightly against him, uncaring of the way her massive chest got in the way. She was hyper aware of the warmth of his hand that slowly descended onto her back, sending shivers of delight through her.
"Calm down, I ain't going nowhere…" He said a bit startled at the speed and had she been in her right mind perhaps she would have responded back.
'He smells as wonderful as I imagined.' She thought, greedily taking small, discreet whiffs of him while she could.
'Mhm. To think I had been considering taking it by force, I'm glad I waited. Consent is good too…sometimes!' She nodded her head into him feeling like she was being constantly rewarded for not acting on her impulses.
"Wait what?!" She heard his alarmed voice and simply giggled.
"Oh did I say that aloud? Anyway can you hug a bit tighter? I'm getting cold here~" Nothing happened as if he was still processing her last statement.
But then he grumbled hesitantly pressing her closer to him and it did unspeakable things to her.
'Mommy likes!' She breathed through her nose relaxing as she glanced at the screen with half lidded eyes barely holding back the soft moan of completion.
This was what she needed. She understood now. How did she go so long without this exactly?
There was no better way she could think to spend her night except for like this, so she simply got comfortable on her new friend/pillow/companion, patting herself on the back for preemptively breaking the arm rest.
And so that was how the duo spent a good bit of their night. Simply watching the surprisingly gory movie in silence more than content with each other's company.
Well until-
Chomp
Sluuurp-
Lucoa's nose twitched as she smelt buttery popcorn and cheesy nachos before hearing them being devoured.
'Huh?' Raising her head she glanced behind her seeing her entire stash somehow disappearing before she glanced over to his left seeing the entire haul sitting in the unoccupied chair.
'But how did he…' Astonished and a little hungry she rested back down on him, sending him curious eyes at how he shifted uncomfortably.
"Naruto?" She interrupted the eating, watching with amusement as the chipmunk cheeks wobbled, before turning to her sheepishly.
"Ywep, yep?" He swallowed quickly.
"Won't you tell me a bit about yourself? I'm curious how a man like yourself came to be."
He gave her a quizzical look. "Well I guess when my dad met my mom-"
The woman hit his chest trying to keep a stern face, failing evidently due to the smile on her lips.
"Hah, just kidding! Let's see where to start…?" She calmed down seeing him think about it seriously.
"How about when I first started my business?!" His face lit up and it was her turn to look at him in question but she nodded wanting to hear.
"Hmmm~ Let's see, it was about 5 or 6 years ago give or take. I had realized I didn't even know much about the world I lived in. I felt like a foreigner really, so I decided to take a trip around the world-"
Each word was as enlightening as it was comforting and try as she may, despite her willingness to listen the situation was just a bit too soothing. His voice, his presence, his heat everything was too much. Too much.
She would lament her weak human body later but when he reached the part where he visited Tijuana in Mexico she was drooling on his chest, lost to the world as fulfilled as she could be.
"Mngggg?" Heavy eyes opened silently along with a soft moan as Lucoa came back to the wake world feeling quite comfortable despite sensing the quick movement around her.
"I hope your sleep was nice." She heard the voice ask in jest as she turned her groggy head towards the driver's seat, feeling a sheet drop from her, blinking in confusion at the bright lights in her sight.
"Naruto? Where are…we?"
"Currently?" He hummed, glancing outside as what she now identified was a car came to a slow stop, parking inside a brightly lit area.
"The Izumo Inn and where you'll be staying tonight." He pulled out his phone looking at it as if to make sure before he nodded putting it back.
'The Izumo Inn? But why would we…' She thought quickly, slowly coming back to herself as he turned backwards entirely to look at her.
She couldn't help feeling a bit happy at the exasperated fond look in his eye.
"Would you like a run down of what happened after you dozed off?"
She nodded eagerly.
"Well after 3 minutes of you not responding I finally realized that my story was so compelling that you went to sleep. After basking in my greatness I called one of my employees to send down a car for me. After that I proceeded to wrap you in a blanket like a baby and dropped you in the backseat before kidnapping you." His eyes were twinkling with mischief.
"Anything I missed?"
She placed a finger on her lips thinking.
"Do I get a goodnight kiss?"
"Huh?"
She didn't repeat herself. Lucoa moved forward slowly, taking deep joy in the way he froze at the turn of events watching her with wide eyes as she slowly pecked…
Chuuuu
His cheek!
"That was a wonderful outing Naruto, you outdid yourself I must say. I truly felt like a normal girl." She smiled coyly at his silent dilated gaze.
She glanced at the glass beside her, fixing her hair a bit before she opened the door taking in the fresh air.
He followed slowly, scratching his head.
"I should have been opening that right?"
"Fufu, you are quite old fashioned aren't you Naruto? Don't worry, you can do it next time."
"Next time? You mean-" He hooked his arm with hers and she laughed softly.
"Well I would hope you'd like to keep being friends? Or would you like to offer me that hook up as you did before?" She asked teasingly, wondering if he even knew the dark look that flashed by his eyes when she said that.
"No. I think I'm the only person alive who can survive your antics." He gave her smirk and try as she might-
"...I said sorry, didn't I?!" The embarrassment still came.
"Tell that to the poor wall you caused to crumble. I'll have to pay for that later, you know?"
"Well maybe if the truck hadn't been-" She started.
"Okay okay! No need to point fingers!"
"Heee? You started it though?"
"Alright, jeez I'll take it back! You couldn't let me have that win?"
"I wouldn't want you to think I'm a pushover Naruto kun."
"Heh? Never in a million years… Lucoa chan." His gaze drifted upwards for some reason before settling back on her.
They stopped at the wooden doors of the inn.
"Well this is it. You can tell her that Uzumaki Naruto sent you. She'll understand." He unhooked his arm with her's as if reluctant as they each stared at one another.
"See you later Lucoa. Oh and I put my number in your phone, I hope you don't mind?"
She shook her head reluctantly, her heart aching knowing they would be separated once more and he turned away from her obviously about to leave before he paused.
"Hmm? What is it Naruto k-"
"Neh neh, you should probably hide those…horny chan." Lucoa's face turned shocked watching as he chuckled triumphantly, turning and sending a wave as he walked away once more towards the car.
It stayed that way the entire time as she watched him take off into the darkness of the night deeply shocked.
….
…
..
.
"Oh Naruto kun~ you are far too young to trick me." The dragon giggled to herself breaking down into tears as she held her stomach.
Two things happened right after. She dispelled the complicated illusion on her horns before hiding them from view once more.
It wasn't some spur of the moment thing either. She had thought quite a bit beforehand on how to slowly get him to open up to her regarding everything.
And the decision she had come to? She needed to give a bit of herself up to get him to come out as well.
Afterall to her it was infinitely more valuable to have him be more open than having her own badly kept secret.
An illusion that could be seen through by anyone strong enough was all she needed. And she had to say he passed that easily enough.
Still the mood came back down when she realized she may go days without seeing him again and a severe frown marred her face before it was smoothed away.
'Restraint, consent, restraint, consent-' She chanted repeatedly trying to keep the fragile balance.
Opening the door to the inn she was met by a purple haired woman with purple hakama who went by Asama san. After greetings she hadn't even asked Lucoa anything else, simply directing her upstairs and to her room with a small smile.
"While Uzumaki dono has rented out the room for two people there are to be no illicit relations! Have a good night." The woman had said happily before closing the door behind leaving Lucoa alone.
"A room for two…?" Lucoa blinked looking at the king-sized bed with wide eyes.
She couldn't possibly mean…that right? No Naruto had already sped off into the night she had seen it herself but…
Like always Lucoa stripped herself naked before she sat in the bed feeling a bit jumpy at the implications. She glanced at the window quickly, hearing a car but calmed down when she saw it wasn't Naruto…
"I need to relax! There's no way that's going to happen right?" She grumbled as she laid down under the covers but interestingly enough she didn't seem to be trying to sleep or perhaps she wasn't capable of it.
….
2 hours passed and the dragon's eyes bloodshot as she twitched like an addict.
'Restraint, consent, restraint, consent, restraint, consent, restraint, consent, restraint, consent, restraint, consent…'
Spoilers, she had been waiting this entire time to see if that old man was coming back but nope. She was still all alone in the silent inn having a strange feeling like she had just gotten pranked.
She had also ignored the sizable amount of mana she felt crossing over into the world despite how familiar it felt.
The tick of clock set her off even more as she felt something snapping in her mind. That paper thin layer of reservations, restraint, a need to be seen as proper, a fear of being rejected…it all faded away.
She couldn't do this anymore. Who was she fooling? How could she ever wait that long again? She needed it! Needed him badly! She would not be denied….
Lucoa slowly opened her eyes.
For the next couple of decades scientists all around the world would try to explain the strange flash of green and yellow light that lit up more than half of Japan and the government would pass it off as a quirk of nature.
Of course they'd never expect it came from a small inn, inside an even smaller room bereft of any life with fading rip in reality.
"...Lucoa?" Naruto's sleepy voice came first, muffled by a certain fleshy part of the female anatomy.
"Ufufufu! Yes Naruto?" The purr of content came right after.
"Is this a dream?"
"Heh. Of course it is! Now go back to sleep and enjoy yourself ahnnn?! Touchy~!"
"Best…dream…ever….zzzzzzz-"
Wild canon approaches and did not know Lucoa had a manga until the final half of this chapter...probably was for the best.
