Once he and Billy – who'd insisted on morphing beforehand – had teleported Mr. Edelman to the Power Rangers' Command Center, Tommy did his best to explain just what the Blue Ranger wanted to try, and just how it might help him to recover from what the Yeerks had done to him. Mr. Edelman was as eager as Tommy had been expecting, and as Billy – the Blue Ranger, though when Tommy thought of him that way he found himself uncomfortably reminded of the time he'd spent under Rita Repulsa's control – scanned Mr. Edelman with another of the devices connected to the console he'd been working at, Tommy folded his arms and hoped that what they were trying would actually work.
Billy had brought out a jar of purified water, after Tommy had told him that Yeerks needed a liquid environment to survive, and as he scanned Mr. Edelman's brain, Tommy sat back to watch and hope.
Sighing in relief as Billy managed to teleport the Yeerk into the jar, Tommy turned to r. Edelman.
"How are you feeling, sir?" he asked, once Mr. Edelman seemed to have recovered enough to have an actual conversation.
"I'm… Well, I'm better than I ever thought I'd be," Mr. Edelman said, looking at his hands for a long moment, before turning his attention to Tommy where he was standing. "But, where am I going to be able to go now? My family… Left me, and the Yeerks will be hunting me down if they see me acting… normal again."
"I know a place you can stay," he said, reaching out to gently put his right hand on Mr. Edelman's shoulder, then chuckled softly. "Well, if you don't mind dogs, that is."
"I don't mind dogs," Mr. Edelman said, though he sounded a little unbalanced from the turn their conversation had taken.
"Good," Tommy muttered, teleporting back to the other Animorphs so that he could fill them in on his idea and have someone get in contact with the Chee.
He knew that they'd probably have to tell the Power Rangers about the Chee, but since the only reason he knew about the Rangers was that Rita had told him, Tommy figured that they'd be all right with keeping the Chee secret, too.
