Earlier in Class 1-A's dormitory...
Ladybug felt so relieved to see Midoriya looking so much better. He was now up and talking to AllMight in the distance. Everyone was worried about him after he broke down out of no where. She knew that he would be okay since he was now with AllMight. She could tell that AllMight really cared about Midoriya. Something about the way he looked at him gave her such comfort. She could tell that AllMight saw him as less of a student and more like a son.
She couldn't help but smile at them.
"Do you think Midoriya will be okay?" Kirishima asked her.
"I can tell that this whole thing with One for All is really taking a toll on him," Nino said to them.
Ladybug clenched her fists, hoping that AllMight could at least build up his confidence. She spotted Bakugo and Uraraka glancing over at him and knew that they were both wondering the same thing.
"He'll be fine. One for All is tough, but Deku can handle it," Bakugo said to them, "Besides if One for All really is healed, then this will definitely help him in the long run."
"Bakugo's right. One for All coming back will definitely give him confidence to help defeat Chrysalis," Uraraka told them.
Ladybug nodded and knew that everyone was here to help him through this. Then she spotted someone stirring awake in the corner of her eye.
It was Adrien.
Gabriel was making sure that Adrien was okay. Ladybug felt a little uncomfortable with him around, especially after what he told Midoriya. She couldn't let him get to her or Midoriya, not when Chrysalis was still out there. The things that Midoriya told her echoed through her head, which just made her even more annoyed with him.
Ladybug then realized that she was still holding Adrien's ring. It was now clean and polished as if it was never poisoned and tainted.
Adrien got up, and he looked a little wobbly from sleeping for a while. Everyone noticed him and were glad to see him looking better. He even looked less pale, and his eyes looked brighter. He spotted Ladybug and smiled at how gorgeous she looked as he walked over to her.
Ladybug noticed Gabriel trying to help him out, and she gave him a glare. He gave one back to her, but backed off a little. Everyone saw that and wondered what happened between them. Ladybug looked back at Adrien, just glad to see him finally awake.
"Adrien. You look like you got some rest," Ladybug said to him with a smile.
"Yeah. That poison really knocked me out," Adrien said to her, "I'm just glad that it's finally gone."
Ladybug held his ring in her hand and felt so much comfort holding it. Something about it felt so much warmer than she expected. She looked down at it, and Adrien noticed that it looked brand new. His eyes lit up, seeing so clean and polished.
Gabriel noticed it and was impressed with how clean it looked. He wanted to get a closer look at it, but Ladybug gave him another glare. She wasn't letting him anywhere near Adrien at the moment, not after what he told Midoriya. She couldn't trust him, and she wouldn't let him anywhere near this ring, her Miraculous or Adrien's.
"Wow! You've really outdone yourself this time," Adrien said to her, "It looks brand new!"
"The antidote got rid of all the poison. You should be okay now," Ladybug said back.
Ladybug gently took Adrien's hand, which made him blush a little. She smiled at him so genuinely, and she even felt her face warm up from holding his hand. They didn't say anything as Ladybug gently placed the ring around his finger. Something about it felt so comforting as if they were the only ones in the room.
Everyone noticed Ladybug putting Adrien's ring on his finger, which made Ashido squeal with joy.
"Adrien. Please be careful next time," Ladybug said to him, "I don't want anything like this to happen to you ever again."
"I will," Adrien said as he carressed her hand, "I would never want to do anything that might upset or hurt you. I'm sorry that I didn't tell you about it sooner."
Before he could say anything else, Ladybug kissed him on the lips. He didn't expect it, but kissed her back as he wrapped his arms around her. She didn't pull away, even with Class 1-A and M still in the room. She hugged him tightly, feeling his warmth all around him.
"It's okay. I was just worried about you," Ladybug said to him, "I love you Adrien, and I could never stay mad at you."
Adrien hugged her back, feeling a sense of relief. With his ring on his finger, he felt so much better. Something about it made him feel whole again.
Then Ladybug noticed Adrien looking at someone in the distance. She turned around to see Gabriel standing away from them. He looked away, still a little uncomfortable being around him. Something about him helping him however definitely made him feel less weird. He felt like he could finally talk to him.
Before he could however, Adrien felt Ladybug grip onto his wrist. She looked a little cautious around Gabriel, and he smiled at her.
"It's okay Ladybug. I'll be careful," Adrien said to her.
Ladybug hesitated, but she knew that he could handle Gabriel. She let go of him, but stayed nearby to keep an eye on him. Adrien noticed that everyone was a little annoyed with Gabriel and didn't know why. He wondered if he did something or said something that bothered some of them. Whatever it was, he had to say something.
Adrien stared at him with determination, and Gabriel looked down at him as if waiting for him to say something.
"Father... I wanted you to know that this doesn't change anything. I may have appreciated what you did for me, but you still hurt my friends. I can't forgive you for that. Whatever you're planning on doing, you can forget about it. Ladybug and I will stop you if try to do anything suspicious," Adrien said to him.
Adrien stared him down, and Gabriel didn't flinch. Not even a little.
Everyone stared at them on the edge of their seats. They were hoping that Gabriel wasn't planning on taking their Miraculous. Whatever was going on, they could that Adrien wasn't backing down that easily.
Gabriel didn't say anything as Adrien stood his ground. He stared at him for a while and then looked at his ring and Miraculous. Something about it made Adrien flinch a little.
"Adrien. I didn't expect you to forgive me. All I wanted was to help you," Gabriel said back, "That ring is important to me. You're important to me."
Adrien tried not to react to what he told him, but he did feel something. He wanted to have his father back, but he couldn't trust him. Not after everything that he's done. Then he remembered that he was still HawkMoth and always has been. He clenched his fists, feeling a bit of anger coming back.
"I just... can't believe that you are HawkMoth and always have been," Adrien said to him through clenched teeth, "This whole time... You've been akumatizing everyone in Paris. Not only that, you took Izuku's quirk and hurt his friends. My friends. You should've known that there'd be people around to stop you, and yet... You still went after the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculous. All this time... I fought you to stop you from making a wish."
Gabriel flinched, and Adrien noticed how hurt he looked.
"Adrien. I just wanted you to be happy. I did this all for you, but I can see now that you were already happy," Gabriel said back, "You're a pretty strong and skilled hero, I'll give you that. I never thought in a million years that you were... Cat Noir. I guess I wasn't seeing how much you've grown and changed during all of this. I... I should've been there for you when you needed me the most."
Adrien's eyes widened in shock to hear him say all of this. He didn't think he would even notice any of this, even in Japan. He was starting to think taking him out of the cage was the best move after all. It gave him a chance to notice him differently.
"I was never good at this sort of thing. It was always your mother that dealt with this. I put so much onto you. I'm hoping that we can... startover," Gabriel said to him.
Adrien definitely wasn't expecting that. He wondered if he was tricking him or planning something behind his back. He clenched his fist with his Miraculous around it, worried that he might take it. Even Ladybug was a little nervous with him around. He looked at his father and noticed that he didn't look away from him. He wasn't even looking at Ladybug at any point. All he cared about was talking to his son.
Adrien let out a sigh and hoped that things would turn out okay between them.
"I guess... we could start over," Adrien said to him, "Even though I have no idea what that even means. I guess we could just... start listening to each other."
Adrien could tell that Gabriel wasn't a fan of this. He hesitated, which Adrien wasn't surprised by that at all. He knew that this wasn't going to be easy, and he didn't even know if his father would even stick to it. He wasn't someone that listened to others or took advice very well. He did things his way, period. He noticed him looking at his ring, and Adrien could tell that he was already struggling with this.
Adrien let out a sigh, feeling like he did everything he could to get through to him.
"I knew it. You could never change that much that quickly. You'll never understand what I've been through," Adrien said to him, "I guess starting over isn't as easy as you thought it would be."
Adrien walked away, and Ladybug gave Gabriel a glare.
"Adrien may be a kid to you, but he's much stronger and capable than you think," Ladybug said to him, "Oh and just so you know, you and Izuku are nothing alike. He cares about his friends and classmates and doesn't take advantage of them. Don't ever come near him ever again, or you'll have me to deal with. You may have helped us, but that doesn't change anything."
Ladybug walked away before he could say anything else to them. He joined Class 1-A and M, and they all kept their distance with Gabriel. They wanted nothing to do with him, even if he did help them. Gabriel clenched his fists, feeling frustated that he couldn't do this for his son. He didn't understand why he couldn't just start over. Even with some Kwamis flying around getting snacks, he still felt out of place here. Then he spotted Adrien with his friends and classmates and felt like he had left him behind.
He smiled with them, and they were so happy to see him back to normal. They were all so accepting of him being a sentimonster, which Gabriel wasn't expecting. He always thought that everyone would just bully him and see him as a monster. But something about seeing him with his friends and classmates made him realize that he had been wrong this entire time. He clenched his fists in frustration and felt his arm get an itchy sensation all over it.
Gabriel spotted Midoriya and AllMight coming over to join them. They locked eyes with him, and Midoriya tried to avoid him. He could tell that Midoriya told Ladybug what he had said to him. He wondered if he should've kept that to himself, but he knew that Midoriya needed to understand. He's just a kid and almost went through exactly what he did. He couldn't just let that go.
Midoriya joined Class 1-A and M as AllMight stood closer to Gabriel. He noticed that he kept looking at him like he wanted to say something to him. He really didn't feel like talking to the retired Symbol of Peace right now. AllMight didn't say anything to him, just stood there as if he were keeping an eye on him. He wasn't surprised, but also wondered if he knew about what he said to Midoriya.
They stood there quietly watching everyone settle down pretty well all things considered. Gabriel noticed that AllMight kept glancing over at Midoriya and wondered if he felt like a son to him. Just the way he talked to him reminded him of how things used to be between him and Adrien. At least, that was how he remembered it.
"Gabriel. I don't know how you must be feeling, but I do understand where Adrien is coming from," AllMight told him, "He just wants you to understand him better. That doesn't mean that you have to change so much at once. It just means that you understand where he's coming from and listen to what he's telling you."
Gabriel didn't dare say anything. He stood there, watching his son interact with his friends and classmates. Something about it still bothered him and didn't know why. He wanted to be there for his son, but he didn't know how to go about it in Japan. They were stuck here after all and things were different now.
"AllMight. I just don't think that could ever happen," Gabriel told him as he clenched his fists, "I thought that I could change, but I guess I was wrong."
Before AllMight could say anything, Gabriel walked away from him and into the kitchen. Mr. Aizawa kept an eye on him, but AllMight worried that Gabriel might do something behind their back. He had to make sure that Gabriel wasn't tricking them or anything like that.
He had to admit though, he kind of felt bad for him and Adrien.
In the streets of Japan...
Chrysalis flew away from U.A. and knew that she had to get away from there. A lot of her akumas followed her as she flew further away. Some of them ended up leaving her because it found someone to latch onto. She looked at them and knew that it was doing what it was told. She didn't care who it was at this point.
All she could think of Gabriel, which made her even more angry. She clenched her fists out of frustration and didn't understand why he would ever side with them. He was HawkMoth, someone that was always against Ladybug and Cat Noir. Someone like him would always end up betraying them at some point. She knew that, and yet it still annoyed her that he left her behind.
"Gabriel..." Chrysalis growled out, "Out of everyone that's betrayed me..."
She just kept flying above Japan, catching a lot of civilians's attention. Even some pro heroes caught her flying around and knew that it was Chrysalis. They tried to stop her, but ended up getting akumatized. She smiled and knew that she was starting to form a group of allies. None of them really stuck out that much as a threat except for one. She was able to fly away from the rest of the pro heroes.
"All of these wannabe heroes... That's what they get for coming after me..." Chrysalis said under her breath.
She noticed that she didn't have that much akumas left. Chrysalis was surprised to see her actually running out of akumas. Something about it made her feel a little nervous, but she kept going. As she akumatized more of them, no one seemed to resist all that much. Only a couple of them that were pro heroes and once pro heroes. Something about it made things much more interesting as she noticed a few of them looked somewhat familiar.
She even felt a few of them feeling angry or frustrated just like her. A couple of them were angry at AllMight specifically. This made her smile and was glad that she gathered some of them. There were even a couple of them that were thinking about some of Class 1-A's classmates, including Midoriya. She couldn't help but laugh at how easy this was.
"I guess Class 1-A has made some enemies already here in Japan," Chrysalis said out loud.
She kept flying as more of the akumas flew off and soon had only a couple of them left. She stopped flying for a moment and looked at them to see if there was anyone she wanted in particular. Chrysalis didn't know anyone here, but that's what made things more interesting. She looked around and couldn't think of anyone at the moment.
"Hmm... What should I do with you three?" Chrysalis asked them as the akumas flew around her.
She looked around and wondered if she should just send them back over to U.A. Something about it seems too obvious, but she did want to make things more complicated for them. Besides, this might help her get things ready as they dealt these three. She smiled and looked at the three of them.
"Go on my evil akumas and evilize anyone in U.A.!" Chrysalis cried out.
The three of the akumas flew off back towards the school campus, and she couldn't help but smile. All she could think about was the fact that she had more allies than ever before. She could still feel One for All, but it felt out of reach. She longed for that feeling of it.
Something bothered her about it, but she shook it off. She had to get ready to gather her allies.
"Izuku... You better get ready because I'm coming for you."
Another amazing chapter!
This was an interesting one to write! It felt good to write Adrien and Gabriel. I'm not trying to redeem him, but I at least want Gabriel to understand where Adrien is coming from. We'll see where it goes from here. There was some Ladrien, which is pretty shocking considering it was one of the least favorite ships out there for Miraculous. I think it turned out pretty great! Ladybug and Adrien's moment is pretty cute! Adrien and his father don't have that same connection that AllMight and Midoriya have, which is pretty sad. It felt good to write Adrien talking to him.
Chrysalis is coming with three akumas and even more than that! There's more akumatized villains coming!! I wonder who's going to be akumatized?? Hmm... Who's the three being akumatized??
More to come soon!
