Hi everyone, I hope you are okay! As you know in the previous chapter, Cath had a new mission in Burma (why have I choose this country? Because I had no idea, and I took the first country I had seen…). In this chapter, I tried to explain how McRoll live it. I hope you enjoy the story, don't hesitate to put a comment.
I just want to thank a person who put me a comment, but I don't who he/her is because it was a guess. Thank you for your comment, guy, if you read this. These few words have made my day better because it wasn't easy at this time, and yeah, you can become a detective, I'm a big fan of McRoll and I try as much as possible to write their story like it can be with them =)
Chapter 9 – I want to remember us until the end.
Honolulu International Airport, 8:00 AM, Honolulu, O'ahu, Hawaii
Cath's POV
I don't want to take this plane, to leave Steve embrace where I'm so good. But I hadn't the choice if I wanted to be in peace with the CIA, I had to leave Hawaii for two months. During a few minutes, nobody moved. I didn't want to realize that for two months, I couldn't talk, touch or see Steve's smile. Maybe it can be really weird, but it wasn't for me. For four years, we were separated, but it's not of this mission at the agency that everything will be break. I trusted us and hoped that these two months will go at the light sound.
It's just when I was called for the boarding I pulled away of Steve's embrace. His blue eyes showed a big sadness and that's saddened me a little more.
His hand removed one of my lock I have ahead behind of my ear. I smiled before he put his lips on mines for a kiss, who become more intense with the seconds because we put in this kiss all the love for each one of us.
-"I love you, Cath, don't forget that."
-"I love you too, sailor" I replied.
A sad smile appeared on Steve's lips before the loudspeaker called again the passengers of my flight for the boarding. I put a last kiss on Steve's lips before moved apart painfully.
-"I will miss you, sailor." I confessed.
-"Same for me, Cath. Call as much you can. I'll pick up the phone, whenever it will ring".
-"I promess. I'll do my best."
-"See you in two months. Take care of you, please."
I nodded while doing to steps back before saw Steve for a last time. I did a little farewell sign, he answered but then I couldn't see him anymore. I took a long breathing, thinking it's gonna be okay.
Honolulu International Airport, 9:00 AM, Honolulu, O'ahu, Hawaii
Steve left the airport when Cath's plane have took off. When the truth is here, she can't come back home before two months at most. Two months. He was going to wait her two months. Could be more.
When he arrived at home, he noticed that Danny was here, waiting.
-"Hey, where is your girlfriend?" he asked.
-"She's on her way for the Burma."
-"Oh. And, why?"
-"It's her last mission at the CIA. Cath hasn't the choice, she has to go in Burma and, after, she will be in peace with the agency."
-"How many time?"
-"Two months, could be more."
-"So, you have two months to prepare her return at home! Seriously, we are going to do everything and these two months going very fast for you."
-"Thank you, guy. You are the best" Steve replied.
Unprecise location, Plane to Burma, 11:00 AM (Hawaiian hour)
When Catherine was in the plane, she let her thoughts going everywhere and without surprise, she began to think about Steve.
Los Angeles, 2001
Catherine woke up slowly and opened her eyes. She was in her bedroom, at home, but a arm was put round her waist. Bit by bit, she remembered the last evening and a smile appeared on her face. Her alarm rang just after, and she stopped it. She heard Steve grumble and she turned into his arms for seeing him. He opened his eyes and she thought he was cuter like that.
-"Morning, lieutenant" he said.
-"Morning, McGarrett" she replied and then, he made playing his nose with her one's, but at the same time, the door was opened and closed.
Come back to present:
Catherine was come back on earth when a stewardess asked her if she needed something.
The evening, McGarrett's home, 11:00 PM, Honolulu, O'ahu, Hawaii
Steve couldn't sleep. He was worried for Catherine, even if he knew he couldn't hear her voice every day. He was feared when he imagined Catherine not in a good place, and even worst thing.
But the days passed, without news since her departure and he tried to think at other thing because his worry was too high. He knew that in this case it was "no news, good news".
One week later, Unprecise location, 8:30 PM, Burma
It was one week Catherine was working night and day and she hadn't call Steve yet. She missed him. She needed to see him, to talk with him, see his smile. But she hadn't the choice. At least, the next time she will on Hawaii, she be out of the CIA, and free. She fixed her phone put on the table and without reflection, she did the phone number she wanted to call since her departure and a smile appeared on her face.
At the same time, McGarrett's home, 02:30 AM, Honolulu, O'ahu, Hawaii
Steve has been woken up by his phone ringing. He had difficulties for sleeping and now all was spoiled. He took his phone and believed he was dreaming when he saw the name written on his screen.
- "Cath."
- "Hey, sailor, I'm not waking up you?" she worried.
- "Never mind, I'm happy to hear you."
- "I'm happy too. I miss you. Days seems to be never-ending."
A little silence arrived because they were just enjoyed the presence of the other at phones, even with a thousand of miles between them.
- "How is the life in Hawaii, otherwise?" she asked
- "Not really news to say, except that Tani and Junior are now engaged."
- "That's great! It's a good new, give them my congrulations."
In her tone, Steve noticed she seemed to be a little bit dreamy and even envious. We could believe she wanted to married even thought they hadn't two months in age in this new chapter of their story.
- "Cath…You want to marry?" he asked
There was a blank and Steve began to regret his question.
- "I…" he began but Catherine interrupted him.
- "Why not, sailor? For me, marriage is done if the couple love each other, and if we want to do it. The love must be present and mutual. Why can't I marry one day? » she replied.
A blissfully happy smile appeared on Steve's face, but Catherine changed of subject. However, her words were repeat again and again in his mind.
One hour later, Unprecise location, 9: 43 PM, Burma
Catherine's POV
I finished to pick down the phone after one hour with Steve at phone. I knew I had a big smile on my face, but I could confess it did me a lot of good because I've talked with him.
But I had to say I was surprised when he asked me if I wanted to marry someone one day, I hadn't expecting that. I hesitated a few seconds before answered because I didn't know how to say what I was thinking. Because, of course, I want to marry one day but for the moment, there is an only person on earth I can imagine doing it with. But I couldn't say that at phone and with that, Steve and I have just few weeks in this new chapter and that's too early for me.
