"Do you know what this is?", Kuroda asked calmly, but a popped vein could be seen on his forehead. He handed Shinichi a paper, and his friends looked at it with him.
The 7 Rangers and mentors with their responsible agents were standing inside of Kuroda's office, after having a small tour in the base.
"Oh... yeah...", Shinichi smiled nervously once he read the papers, Ran and Makoto shared the same reaction, Masumi and Heiji deadpanned, while Saguru and Kaito were nonchalant.
"These are all the things we had to pay for from your battles with the Gridnoids and robot monsters!", Kuroda nearly cried.
"Is he always that grumpy?", Kaito whispered to Dan.
"Only when his wife isn't around.", Dan nodded.
"Sorry for doing our best protecting the people.", Masumi replied making Rei hold back a snort at Kuroda's angry expression.
"I think you should talk to the robots, not us.", Saguru pointed out.
"Told you showing them that is no use.", Dan smirked making Kuroda glare at him before he looked back at the Rangers and aliens.
"I suppose you're all wondering why do you have an agent responsible for you.", Kuroda started.
"Yeah, and why him specifically for us...", Static glared at Ryu who glared down at him.
"Do I look happy to you about this?", He seethed.
"You're all still teenagers, and when the legal forces will clash with you for the damages you caused, you'll need an official back up. It's true that FAUSD isn't known to civilians, but high people in the government do, so we're legal.", Kuroda said, "Besides, you could use some help in training and experience alongside training with Kaiden-san.".
"So ya chose da agents for us?", Heiji asked as he glanced at Dracule, only to see him staring with a sad look at the family photo on Kuroda's desk, particularly the little girl. Dracule felt him staring so he glared at Heiji, making the teen look ahead silently.
"Not exactly. I had decided after we figured out your identities, that I should assign people you already knew.", Kuroda said, "Kazama here offered to handle Kudo and Kuroba, since they're his godsons. Nina decided to handle Mouri, Morofushi said his mind is similar to Hakuba's, Van Helsing saw potential in Hattori's sword skills, Kyogoku wants to keep an extra eye on her son, Hondou asked to watch over Akira, but I don't understand why, and Rei offered immediately to handle Sera, I want to discuss with Kaiden certain things related to Akuma and the Eden Scorch War. As for Ryu, he didn't want to be on this, so I ordered him to handle Static.".
Akira glanced at Hidemi to see her looking away with a slight blush.
Masumi glared at Rei who was having the most teasing smile she'd ever seen on his face, while Static and Ryu were cracking their knuckles, ready for a showdown.
"You all can go but Kaiden-san, I need to talk to him privately.", Kuroda said. The agents nodded before leaving, with the Rangers, Akira and Ryu following him behind.
"I believe you'd like for me to explain everything about the Eden Scorch War in details.", Kaiden guessed.
"I was in a coma during that time, and reports don't always mention everything.", Kuroda nodded before he motioned at the two chairs across his desk, "Have a seat.".

"So, Ran, aren't you gonna participate this year?", Masaki asked suddenly as they walked in the halls, making Ran look away, pretending she didn't hear her.
"I know you heard me, Mouri.", Masaki stressed making Ran walk faster ahead.
"I'm not good enough.", was all what Ran responded.
"What was that all about?", Saguru asked.
"We have a martial arts tournament coming up, where different martial arts schools from around Japan compete. Ran and I are in the same martial arts school; Iron Fist Academy. It was founded by my parents and Hikaru-san, Ran's uncle.", Makoto explained.
"Ran used to compete with our school every year, but she stopped ever since she saw her uncle, who is also her godfather, killed.", Shinichi explained making his friends look at him in surprise.
"And no one believed her.", Nina snorted angrily before she looked at Masaki, "I'll talk to her.".
"What exactly happened then?", Masumi asked Shinichi sternly, wanting to know her best friend's uncle died.
"It went like this...", Shinichi sighed.
"So! We're ready for the tournament next month!", Hikaru said happily as he and Ran walked side by side in the streetsat night.
"Yeah, I've trained myself harder than ever!", She cried before she looked at Hikaru curiously, "By the way, I saw you talking to Otousan about work a lot these days, something going on?".
Hikaru never got the chance to respond because his eyes widened as he pushed Ran away, and her eyes widened once she saw a sword striking at where her stomach would've been.
Ran and Hikaru jumped forward before they turned around, to see around 10 men wearing all black outfits resembling ninjas, with two standing in front of them, the tallest and most muscular of them.
The 10 men charged towards Ran and Hikaru, engaging in a full contact combat. But Ran and Hikaru immediately noticed they weren't professional martial artists, and only two of them engaged Hikaru, whom he knocked down with a karate chop to the neck and a kick to the chest easily, while the other eight surrounded Ran.
One of the two men charged towards Hikaru and started fighting him, trading punches and kicks, but Hikaru was trying to evade him or knock him down immediately, wanting to help Ran.
But the man was keeping him occupied, being a professional martial artist, and once he sent an Eagle claw strike to Hikaru's face, who dodged it sideways, Hikaru's eyes widened once he looked into the man's eyes, recognizing him instantly.
Ran was dodging the sword strikes from the men, kicking them in the neck hard whenever she got the chance, but one of them got her, and stabbed her in the shoulder, causing her to cry in pain.
"RAN!", Hikaru cried. At this moment, the man he was facing jumped back, and the other man charged forward.
Hikaru grunted, before he looked down with his eyes to see the second man had stabbed him with a sword in his chest. He looked up at the man, and recognized him too from his eyes.
Ran had seen it, she'd seen the moment her uncle had been stabbed. "HIKARU!", She cried at the top of her lungs, as she instantly knocked out the remaining men and ran towards her uncle.
The two remaining masked men nodded at each other before the first pulled out the sword from Hikaru's chest, causing him to cry, then they ran away, leaving Hikaru to fall on the ground, with Ran kneeling next to him, placing her hands on his chest, to keep the blood from pouring.
"H-Hang in there!", Ran cried as she pulled out her phone with the other hand, which was now bloody.
Hikaru weakly held the hand on his chest as he tried to speak weakly, raising his other hand to place it on his left eye. Ran couldn't hear what he was saying, so she knelt close to him as he mumbled, "Mifune... Yamato... Eagle... Superin... S...".
"No no no! Hang in there Ojisan!", Ran cried as tears started falling from her eyes without control. She was so occupied she didn't hear the police sirens stopping near her, nor her father calling out her name.
She looked up to see the remaining eight still present, and the police approaching, but Ran didn't wait after she tore her sleeve and wrapped it around Hikaru's sleeve, she charged towards the men, anger blinding her.
She broke both arms of the first, the back of the second, twisted the knees of the third, broke the jaw of the fourth, cracked the skull of the fifth, broke all the ribs of the sixth, broke the legs of the seventh.
She knocked the eighth to the floor before she slammed her right foot on his face, knocking him out and crushing his face.
She panted heavily from the adrenaline rush, not feeling her father as he grabbed her from her shoulders, shaking her and calling her name, with her eyes now focused on Hikaru.
"I'm sorry... we've done our best, but we couldn't save him...", The doctor told Megure and Kogoro solemnly before he walked away.
Megure turned to Kogoro to say something, but he noticed the guilt and anger present on Kogoro's face, and when Megure turned to Ran who was sitting on the ground, her shoulder now bandaged, staring at the blood in her hands, he knew she'd heard.
"Anata!", Eri arrived quickly and rushed towards Kogoro and cried, "You called me and said Hikaru and Ran were hurt! What happened?!".
"Hikaru... is dead...", was all Kogoro could say.
Eri walked two steps away from Kogoro, covering her mouth with her hand in disbelief, before she burst out crying, at losing her eldest and only brother, the only living relative she had.
"What do you mean Hikaru's case was closed?", Ran asked her mother angrily in her office.
"The police found in the cameras, the 8 men whom you almost killed, there was nothing showing the other two men you're talking about.", Eri mumbled as she arranged the files on her desk, "According to the police, they think you may be suffering from PTSD, that's why you believe there were two men.".
"Don't tell me you actually believe what the police are saying...", Ran clenched her fists tightly.
"It is what it is Ran, if there was more to be done, Kogoro and I would've done it.", Eri mumbled making Ran lash out.
"The way you're talking and dealing with this situation makes me believe you honestly never cared about Hikaru! As if he was just an animal that died-".
SLAP!
Ran walked a few steps back in disbelief as she placed her hand on the cheek where Eri had just slapped her.
"Don't you dare say such things!", Eri cried before she noticed and realized what she'd done. She'd slapped her daughter, for the first time in her life, she hit her daughter.
"Ran I-".
But the girl didn't give her a chance to speak, running out of the office with tears falling down her face.
"I believe you.", Shinichi had told Ran. They and Nina were sitting in a park on a bench, Ran sitting between the two, explaining everything to them in details.
Nina was smoking a cigarette silently with a thoughtful look on her face.
"I'll try to investigate as much as possible in this, I promise.", Shinichi promised Ran, making her smile at him before she looked at Nina, "Are you gonna call me crazy too?".
Nina blew the smoke from her mouth and then said, "This is big.", she then placed the cigarette back between her lips, "The cameras, the police response, the attack itself, and how your father was nearby... It was all planned.".
"Nani?", Ran and Shinichi chorused.
"This was a plan to kill NPA SB Agent Kisaki Hikaru, without leaving any evidence behind. And if we go by what Hikaru said especially the Eagle part, then he specifically means the founder and instructor of the Black Eagle Claws academy, your rivals, Mifune Yamato... and Superin, I'm pretty sure he was gonna say Superintendent.", Nina explained making both teens' eyes go wide, "But I wonder what was he gonna say that starts with S...".
"Are you saying...", Shinichi trailed off in disbelief.
"That there are corrupt police in this with Mifune helping them? Yes I am.", Nina replied coldly before she took a breath from the cigarette.
Ran clenched her fists angrily as she spoke slowly, trying to prevent herself from bursting out in anger, "Hikaru had nothing but respect to Mifune, while the other was just bitter because we always won and were always better, even when he played dirty... That bastard...".
"He's already left Japan a day after the murder, saying he's training in China, but I'm pretty sure he stayed away for safety until he is 100% sure everything is safe.", Shinichi explained, "I had asked one of their students at the school.".
"What made you go there?", Ran asked curiously.
"The fact that he didn't attend Hikaru-san's funeral like the other martial artists made me suspicious of him. But I told him I was writing a report for the English class and I chose the topic of martial arts, so I was gathering info about famous fighters around, to avoid any suspicion.", Shinichi explained, making Ran surprised that he had already started moving in investigation by himself, without anyone knowing.
"Nicely done, Shin-chan. And I agree with your conclusion", Nina smiled before she blew out the smoke, "Anyways, Leave this to my friends and I in the NPA SB. Hikaru was a friend to my family, and he was liked by everyone in the SB, so we'll be working on his case secretly.".
"Let me join the investigations then, let me help you, instead of working separately.", Shinichi said determinedly.
Nina eyed him for a second before she chuckled, "Alright then, Cool Guy. Wanna avenge your Angel's uncle? I should be against you being involved, but having a teenage detective will be unexpected by the enemy, so it will catch them off guard.".
'Cool Guy? Angel?', Shinichi and Ran thought in confusion.
The Rangers with Akira and Static shared a look of pity and anger after hearing Ran's story.
"Can't believe the police are such idiots.", Ryu spat angrily.
"Oh and you care so much about Ran, considering what you said about her and her father.", Shinichi spat back angrily making Ryu look away with slight guilt on his face.
"Not surprised from a bastard like you!", Static cried making Ryu jump at him.
"Why you!", Ryu cried as he and Static rolled around on the ground, trading blows angrily, cursing each other out loud.
Everyone sweat dropped at the scene before Takaaki shrugged, "I guess we should let them deal with it together.".
"Can I talk to you privately?", Hidemi asked Akira quietly, and he nodded silently before following her when she walked ahead.
"I'll show you around as we talk.", Takaaki told Saguru before both walked away too.
"Come on you two, we can talk in my office.", Dan motioned for Shinichi and Kaito to follow him, and they did.
"Let's go to one of the training rooms to talk.", Masaki said, pulling her son by his ear, the latter hissing in pain and asking her to let him go.
"Follow me.", Dracule simply told Heiji as he walked ahead, the other following him behind.
Rei and Masumi remained standing alone in the hall, if one can ignore Static and Ryu rolling around while beating and cursing each other.
"You don't look too happy standing with me.", Rei said happily making Masumi growl.
"Urusei...".
"Why? I thought you liked talking to me, especially after I told you that I lost my friends.".
"You're annoying! That's what aggravates me!".
"I should be telling you that after you kneed me under the belt.".
"I could do it again, right now!".
"You caught me off guard then, but now you can't.", Rei said leaning close to her. Masumi moved closer to him and seethed.
"Wanna bet?".
Rei smirked before he pinched Masumi's nose the same way she'd done to him before, making her yelp, before he let go off her and started walking ahead.
"Follow me!", He said way too happily. She cursed him as she rubbed her nose, before she followed him, stomping in anger.
Nina had led Ran to the cafeteria, and sat on one of the empty tables. The room was filled with several large round white tables, with 10 round chairs around each. Ran was at awe when she first walked in, seeing the different species interacting with Humans, and almost puked when she saw what aliens would eat.
"Wanna eat something? The machine here has different cuisines from different planets not just countries.", Nina said pointing at the large three black box-like machines attached to the wall. The middle was labeled above Main Dishes, on its right was labeled Drinks, and on the left was labeled Desserts & Snacks.
Ran saw an agent stand in front of the main dishes one, he pressed a few buttons from the small keyboard present, writing down on a small screen what he wanted to eat. A few seconds later, the empty compartment above had in white light, his dish appear, and the agent took it with a smile.
"We have many kitchens here, with several agents, whether civilians or ones with a hobby, cook different dishes. They're stored in special compartments that detect they're safe to eat, and then teleport the food here, based on the request given.", Nina explained once she saw the awed expression on Ran's face at the process before she joked, "Maybe you can make some dishes here!".
Ran chuckled, "I just arrived here and you're saying I should work as a cook?".
"Could, not should.", Nina chuckled before she crossed her arms with a serious look, "The Tournament is 3 days away, and you still refuse to enter?".
Ran became solemn then as she said, "I haven't entered there since Hikaru-Ojisan died, and you know I slacked in training since his death, because I believed it was my fault, because I wasn't strong enough...".
"Believed?", Nina raised an eyebrow, noticing the past tense.
"He saved me from the battle before this from the visions, and we had a small talk.", Ran smiled slightly, making Nina smile at her.
"But I'm afraid I'm not good enough and I might cause the Academy to lose.", Ran voiced her concerns.
Nina snorted, "Seriously? The Academy was trained by the best martial arts instructors in Japan, best to the point that FAUSD had scouted them, but Hideoyashi died, and Hikaru declined saying he won't be able to have time for you, but he may join in the future, so he was made an honorary agent until he becomes official, but he died. So only Masaki became one.".
"I'm not surprised. Ever since I found out about FAUSD and how it can have agents already in law enforcement, I've been wondering if Hikaru-Ojisan was one.", Ran said.
"And the academy has you, Kanto's Karate Champion. Makoto, the guy who literally won 400 matches in a row, and Hina is a Karate champion, second to you. Not to forget Tsukamoto Kazumi was Kanto's champion until you defeated her, but she is still capable of going head-to-head with you.", Nina pointed out before she leaned closer, a cold look on her face.
"I've done my investigations, his school will be joining, and he'll be there.", She said making Ran frown as she clenched her fists, "And no doubt he'll think he'll win, because he believes you're broken after losing Hikaru, especially if he was truly involved in his death.".
"I'm not broken!", Ran nearly cried, angry about hearing such thing about herself, "I've returned back to training ever since I've become a Ranger, I'm entering this tournament and I'll win with my colleagues and friends!".
Nina smirked, giving herself a pat on the back mentally for succeeding in convincing Ran to join the tournament without asking her too.
"That's the spirit! I'll be there to cheer you on and to get that guy.", Nina smiled as she pulled out her phone, "And since we have three days before the tournament, I'll teach you something in those days.".
"Great! It will be unexpected next to what I've learned from Kaiden-sensei!", Ran beamed.
Nina then texted someone.
Ran's tournament is in three days. She'll return back to participating in the tournament with the academy again after two days, will you be able to attend?
A few seconds later, Nina received a reply.
Unfortunately, not, I'll be busy with work, I won't even have enough time to return home. Can you film the fights for me?
Nina smiled slightly as she replied to the text.
Sure thing, Kaachan.
Ryu dodged a punch from Static but they stopped fighting once Ryu heard his phone ring. Ryu pulled out his phone and pointed at his phone to Static who was holding him from his suit and aiming to punch him in the face.
"My girlfriend.", Ryu simply said.
Static continued glaring at him before they let go off him, "Fine, We won't ruin your prestige.". Static sat cross legged on the ground next to Ryu, their arms crossed with a frown on their face.
Ryu glared at him as he sat in the same manner and answered the phone call.
"Yo Shiho!", Ryu greeted with a smile.
"I need you to do something for me, now.".
"Can't it wait? I-".
"Now...".
Ryu winced at Haibara's serious tone before he looked at Static, "Got a-".
"She knows we are a robot! Just teleport us there!", Static grumbled making Ryu curse them under his breath before he pulled out another smart phone and pressed on the screen, teleporting with Static in white light.
Ryu and Static appeared in white light in the middle of the living room of Agasa's residence. Ryu looked around until he spotted Haibara sitting on the couch, Agasa across her. She raised an eyebrow at seeing Static while Agasa's jaw dropped.
"Yeah... Chief assigned me to watch over him... or Them... Whatever.", Ryu grumbled.
"Sorry for having two minds in one body!", Static hissed at him before he looked at Agasa and Haibara, smiled politely and waved, "Hi.".
"A talking robot, I've never seen one like this before.", Agasa awed.
"You must be Agasa Hitoshi, Shinichi and Ran had told us loads about you!", Static said as they walked towards the professor and shook hands with him.
"All good things, I hope?", Agasa said with a nervous smile.
"Some and some, but mostly good really.", Static chuckled before they raised their hand to Haibara, "We didn't really get to talk after you threw the water on us, Nice to meet you!".
Haibara stared at Static before saying as she shook their hand, "What's with the us and they?".
"Ask his brother.", Ryu said making Static glare at him.
"If it was your sister in our place and you in Akira's place, what would've you done then?!", Static nearly cried making Ryu silent, unable to answer.
The teen imagined himself in Akira's situation, with Nina in Daichi's place, wouldn't he too have done the same thing? Or literally anything to save his sister?
"Ryu, this house has been bugged for a while by that so called engineering student living in Kudo's house,", Haibara nearly spat the name making Static look at her curiously, "Can you remove those stuff?".
"Easy.", Ryu pulled out his FAUSD smart phone, pressed a few buttons before the screen glowed blue then displayed a radar before he walked around in the room.
"You're still mad at Shinichi?", Static asked Haibara.
"He lied to me, after everything we've been together, we're partners.", She replied coldly.
"But so did you... We came here to find a temporary antidote or research paper to work on it for Shinichi... But we found the real one...", Static pointed out making Haibara glare at them.
"He was chosen that day to be a Ranger with Ran, so he needed his body back.", Static said, "Shinichi never meant to hurt you or bother you... he cares about you as a friend really, and he doesn't blame you for anything. We spent lots of time with the Rangers, so we heard their stories, and Shinichi had said loads about you, and so did Ran, and Masumi had told us about the chats you have on the phone.".
"Can you please forgive him? He may act like he's fine not coming to Agasa-hakase's house to avoid you but he's sad.", Static said.
"Ai-kun, I know you're angry at Shinichi-kun, but you of all people know that circumstances make us do things we hate, just because it's what's right, and possible.", Agasa told Haibara.
Haibara looked away for a second, recalling the times she spent time with Shinichi and the detective boys as friends, the times she and Conan worked together on a case, or when they were dealing with something related to the Organization, and the number of times Conan had saved her.
"Fine...", Haibara scoffed, but Static and Agasa detected neither mockery nor malice in her voice.
"And you asked why we say us...", Static said before he glared at Ryu who was removing a bug from behind the counter, "Let us tell you the whole story.".
Akira and Hidemi walked side by side, silent, neither knowing what to say.
"So, how've you been?", Akira asked.
"Fine, I guess. As fine as a double agent can be.", Hidemi shrugged before she glanced at him, "So you're an alien prince...".
Akira sighed, "Former Dragonian Prince... By the laws of my planet and the order of the King, I'm no longer a Prince... Listen about my brother...".
"I know, I've asked Kazama-san and Kuroda-san, and they told me everything.", Hidemi said finally looking at him, "And you did nothing wrong, I would've done the same for Eisuke.".
"So... We're good? I mean, we can be together again?", Akira asked hopefully.
Hidemi smiled sadly, "How? We've lied to each other for the past 4 years... Love can't be built on lies and fake identities...".
Akira blinked a few times before he smiled widely. He then stood before Hidemi, making her raise an eyebrow at him and stop her in her tracks.
"Excuse me! I'm new here and I don't know where to go!", Akira said making Hidemi look at him bewildered.
"You look like a nice lady, can you please help me? Oh! Where are my manners?", He raised his hand to her, "Former Prince Akira of Dragonia, but now I go by Akira Kaidenson.".
Hidemi smiled and then chuckled, understanding what Akira was doing. She shook his hand as she said, "Hondou Hidemi, FAUSD & CIA agent. Sure, I can help you.".
Maybe they can't continue from where they left off before the incident, but they can start over again, with no lies and hidden truths between them.
"And that's how we ended up here, and Chief Kuroda assigned him for us.", Static finished.
Static had told Agasa and Haibara the whole story from the beginning, the accident, the former Rangers, the new Rangers, and how everything led to this moment he was talking in right now.
"I... Can't believe this...", Agasa mumbled with pity, "So you're now... A mix of Daichi and Static?".
"We preferred to go by Static because... Static's body and mind are still present. Or body only, since Static's AI is now connected to Daichi's brain, so we can't say it's Static's mind only or Daichi's mind only. We are one.", Static nodded, "Daichi's body is still back on Eden, and of course, he'll still be a 12-year-old, when he really should be 23 years old...".
Haibara remained silent with a cold face expression on her face before her eyes slowly zeroed in on Ryu who was heading to remove bugs from the kitchen.
"Kazama Ryuuga...", She started making Ryu wince before he slowly turned around.
"H-Hai?".
"Care to tell me why did you say what you said to Akira? And what you said about Mouri-san?", Haibara continued in the same cold tone, reminding Ryu of their days when she was Sherry.
"I... didn't mean what I said about Mouri... Just a moment of anger...", Ryu rubbed the back of his neck before he looked away ashamed and angrily, "And... I understand what Akira did...".
"So why the hell did you say what you said?!", Static snapped.
"Because If I said my opinion, agents would think I'm following my parents' opinion!", Ryu snapped, "Nearly everyone at FAUSD sees that I reached Lieutenant at a young age because of my parents! That I have no talent or power whatsoever! Especially when I get compared to my sister! Nina is the golden child and a great agent, paving her path without my parents! But I'm just a talentless brat being pushed by force to be an agent! And my parents have been paying attention more to Nina than me!".
Ryu panted as he looked at the three, who blinked a few times, with Static and Haibara glancing at each other.
"Great... Now you guys will think I'm pathetic too...", Ryu snapped.
"Ryu-kun,", Agasa started making Ryu look at him angrily.
"I've been around you and the Kudo family since you were little. Your father would never stop bragging about anything you did, telling everyone how you did it on your own. I never really got to meet your mother, but only Sharon Vineyard was present while you were growing up, and she was the same.", He said.
"And Nina would give you the world if she could, or didn't she leave high school in the midday once when she received a phone call from your school that you fought some kids who ganged up on you, and she almost beat their parents?".
"If what I've seen is anything to go by, then it's that your parents care about you as much as they care about Nina and see you as talented as she is.", Agasa finished with a smile, making Ryu look away, thinking about what his words.
Haibara was slightly confused. Back when Ryu was under her care in the Organization, he would brag about his parents and elder sister, but now she remembered that in the last month of his stay, he started bragging less and then stopped even mentioning them.
Could it be, that because he wasn't saved right away, he was mad at his family? And that they gave much more attention to Nina?
"It's because they didn't save you right away from the Organization, correct?", Haibara voiced her thoughts.
"Spot on...", Ryu mumbled.
"What Organization? The Black Organization?", Static asked curiously.
"Ryu was abducted by them and set under my care before Akemi and I helped him escape four months later when he almost died.", Haibara nodded.
Static blinked at her before looking at Ryu, "Did it ever occur to you that those agents are jealous of you?".
"Huh?", Ryu looked at Static confused.
"Sometimes, when people are jealous, they want to tear down the person they're jealous of, so they find anything to say and when they see it has an effect, they continue at it. Maybe they saw you get mad at being told you're talentless and just here because of your parents, so they kept pushing at it.", Static explained making Ryu blink.
Oh.
Oh...
That explained a lot. Some agents would call him ugly or stupid, but he never responded, then they changed to what they were currently saying, and he lashed out at them at one point, and since then, they've been making fun of him and stressing on those points.
'I'm an idiot...', He thought as he face-palmed.
"Yes, you are.". He looked at Static and Haibara who chorused with a smirk.
"I said that out loud, didn't I?", He deadpanned.
"Anyways, I need to work on an antidote and-".
"Can we be your lab partner?!", Static begged Haibara with puppy eyes making her look at him bemused.
"Static is a robot with an advanced AI and tech, and Daichi was a genius when it came to anything Science related, aiming to become a scientist more than a general on Dragonia, unlike 95% of boys there. So we'll be of great help!", Static explained.
Haibara blinked before she thought, 'Oh well, with the whole Ranger and FAUSD thing, I'll be around crazy things for awhile, might as well get to know the guy... and also...'.
"I'll let you be my partner, but...", Haibara trailed off before smiling, "You show me your technology and tell me more about science on different planets.".
"I can even show you videos I filmed for labs and experiments out there if you want!".
"Deal!".
"Science nerds.", Ryu grumbled as Agasa chuckled at the scene.
But Ryu felt no malice towards Static and Haibara's new friendship, Haibara could use a science friend anyways.
Besides, Static was nice to him compared to what he said, he should've beat him to a bloody pulp really. And he should apologize to Ran too.
As for Agasa, he was still trying to get used to the fact that the three kids he saw growing up, one of them is an agent in a Space Police, and the other two are Power Rangers, not to mention the talking robot with another mind in it. But he was happy to see Haibara making a new friend, especially one who shared her enthusiasm for science.
"Why did you bring me here?", Masumi asked as she looked around the medical department, but she had a feeling about why Rei had brought her here.
"You'll see.", He said as he knocked on the door. He heard a male voice say, "Enter.".
Once he opened the door and walked in, he was greeted by Akemi's angry face expression, who was standing in the middle of the room, Araide standing behind her nervous.
"I'm tired of you keeping me away from Shiho!", Akemi cried, "Let me see my sister and...", Akemi trailed off once she saw Masumi who'd walked in behind Rei.
Hearing from the spirits of your dead relatives that their dead daughter is alive is something and seeing her with your own eyes is something else, and that's how Masumi felt. She had never met Akemi before and had only seen her in photos and videos and heard about her from Shuichi.
As for Akemi, she blinked in confusion before her eyes widened in recognition as she approached Masumi, Rei moving aside to let them have this moment.
"Are you... Are you Akai Masumi? Shuichi-kun's sister?", She asked.
"Ah... I go by Sera Masumi, though...", Masumi replied before a smile spread on her face, "I am glad I finally got to meet you, cousin.".
"I'm the one who is glad!", Akemi said happily as she hugged Masumi, the latter returning the hug, "Shuichi-kun had told me so much about you!".
Masumi said nothing, just trying to imagine Haibara's reaction or her brothers and mother when they find out Akemi was still alive. She hadn't told them about what happened, unsure of how to explain how facing her worst fears caused by an illusion from a robot monster, had her uncle and aunt's spirit come and save her, and tell her the truth.
Masumi then looked at Rei who was standing aside and with a grateful look in her eyes mouthed, "Arigatou gozaimasu.".
He'd done his job as an agent for NPA SB and FAUSD in protecting and saving a civilian, he'd done his job as someone who cared about Elena and saw Akemi as a friend when he was kid, so why did his heart skip a beat when Masumi thanked him?
He couldn't understand why he felt warm when he saw the grateful look in her eyes, especially when he caught for a second, a look of respect and trust in her eyes.
"You didn't seem that surprised to see me alive though.", Akemi said as she broke the hug.
"Yeah well... Your parents visited me and told me you're alive.", Masumi chuckled nervously.
"Weird, considering during my coma, I was with them.", Akemi mumbled before she shrugged, "No one exactly knows how the afterlife works.".
She then looked at Rei, "So you and Masumi seem to know each other, are you guys a couple?".
Araide burst out laughing once he saw how Masumi and Rei's faces immediately turned red in embarrassment before they both cried in one voice, "NO!".
Akemi looked at them surprised and confused by their reaction as Rei turned to Araide angrily, "Quit Laughing!".
"G-Gomen! You should've seen the look on your faces!", Araide snickered as he tried to stop himself from laughing again.
Masumi shook her head before she asked Araide, "Is she well enough to leave?".
"Ah, Furuya-kun had kept her here so she could meet you first before leaving.", Araide nodded before he walked towards the door, "I need to check on other patients, I'll see you all later.".
Once Araide left and closed the door behind him, Masumi turned to Akemi, "What do you say about surprising Shiho?".
"Definitely!", Akemi beamed.
Rei was about to leave but Masumi had turned to him first, "And you should come with us.".
"Why?", He asked with a raised eyebrow.
"You saved her, and you should speak to Haibara, and I want you to end your issues with my brother.", Masumi said sternly, "You two are the best of the best in any secret intelligence or security bureau, you two have to work together, to take down the Organization.".
Rei remained silent before he sighed heavily, "Fine.".
"I still need some clothes other than the hospital scrubs...", Akemi pointed out.
"I can get you something from Nina or other female agents here.", Rei offered.
"Teleport me to the front of the Kudo's residence, I need to talk to my family first.", Masumi said.
Heiji was confused once he saw Dracule walk him into an empty room, with walls and floors completely white.
"This is a special training room, designed for training with weapons.", Dracule said once he saw Heiji's confused look.
"Quick question, is yar name really Van Helsin'? or just a nickname?", Heiji asked.
"Vampires, Werewolves and other Were creatures exist, and the first Human to find a way to kill them was my great-great grandfather; Abraham Van Helsing. He even formed the Hunters Brotherhood, a group of people whose job is to eliminate supernatural threats, but we often had supernaturals join us, like Magi for example, until we merged with FAUSD in the fifties.", Dracule explained as a purple mana ball formed in the palm of his hand before disappearing.
"So yar Magi... Makes me wonder how many Non-Humans live on dis Planet.", Heiji said curiously.
"I can tell you, but as we spar, I want to see how good you are.", Dracule said as he pulled out his large sword, "Let's see how long you'll stand against Yami.".
"Hydro Vortex.", Heiji summoned his weapon as he stood ready before he charged toward Dracule, who easily blocked his attack.
"Vampires are there, but they're not truly dead nor immortal, as they can have children from other Human-like species, and can be killed, they can also be trained to eat food other than blood and withstand the sun.".
"Werewolves can have a wolf form or a werewolf form, and they can be trained to control their powers and transformations, not just transform during a full moon.".
"Magi, you seem to already know about them. But there are also Metahumans, Humans who were once normal but somehow gained powers or were experimented on. In fact, you Rangers count as Metahumans now. And then there are Atlanteans.".
Heiji found himself in disbelief, he was getting tired of attacking Dracule with different attacks using his Katana, but the man didn't even move a foot from where he was standing, simply blocking his attacks with Yami, while also talking without breaking a sweat. But the last sentence Dracule said, caught him off guard.
"Atlanteans? Ya mean Atlantis exists?!", Heiji cried in disbelief before his eyes widened once he saw Dracule dashing and swinging Yami towards him.
He knew he wouldn't be fast enough to block or counter, so he jumped high, backflipped, and landed a few feet away from Dracule.
"Smart.", Dracule commented, "And yes, Atlantis does exist.".
Takaaki had shown Saguru all the departments and divisions in the FAUSD base, and Saguru remained silent until they entered a room in the Tactical Department named Heroes' Legacy.
It was very large, filled with pictures and names of different people on the wall. Unlike most rooms in the HQ, the ground was dark brown while the walls were beige colored.
"This is the Heroes' Legacy room. Here, we place the photos and names of agents lost during missions, when you press on their name, they display all the history and photos of the agents. Some people have been grouped, because they were a team, for example.", Takaaki explained.
Saguru walked around until his eyes caught from his right something. He turned to his right and approached a large rectangular photo, two photos above, a photo on its right, another on its left, and one below it.
Saguru focused on the rectangular photo, written below it 'The Magnificent Seven', which showed seven agents that looked like they were in their teen years. The tallest stood in the middle, wrapping his arms around the necks of two boys, smirking into the camera, the one on the right raising a Victory sign. Two boys and two other girls sitting on their knees in front of the three, their arms around each other.
Saguru's eyes widened once he recognized the boy standing on the right next to the tallest one; Furuya Rei. And the girl on the ground, next to a boy whose eyes were like Takaaki's, was Kazama Nina.
Saguru then looked at the two photos above, they were of the tallest man, and the second girl.
Wataru Date
19 December 1979 – 1 August 2008
Natalie Date [nee Kurama]
3 March 1980 – 1 August 2008
Saguru then looked at the photos at the side of the middle photo.
On the right, he read:
Jinpei Matsuda
9 February 1980 – 19 June 2006
On the left, he read:
Kenji Hagiwara
27 April 1980 – 8 May 2002
And the photo below made his eyes widen as he read:
Hiromitsu Morofushi
31 January 1980 – 20 September 2007
"The Magnificent Seven, the first to reach Lieutenant Rank from Cadet immediately, because of the role they performed in the Eden Scorch War.", Takaaki said as he stood next to Saguru, staring at Hiromitsu's photo, "During that war, Eden called for help from its allies. I was there, alongside them, and many other FAUSD agents from different bases.".
"If I may... How did they die? I've heard about Date, Matsuda, and Hagiwara and their achievements in the TMPD from Father...", Saguru asked carefully.
"Their achievements were no less in FAUSD too. They all were Captains when they died. I suppose you know about how Hagiwara and Matsuda died at the hands of that serial bomber. Date and Natalie, who were married with two kids, were investigating a syndicate involving in biological weapons... since Natalie was a doctor.".
"Date's death was made to be a car accident, while Natalie was ambushed alone in her house, when her kids were at school, killed, and hanged to make it look like she committed suicide... All at the same time... They said she was suffering from some mental disease.".
"It must be a large syndicate for them to be able to do that.", Saguru deduced.
"Was.", Takaaki corrected, "Rei and Nina gathered information about them, before going on a killing spree. They were consumed by vengeance, especially after losing all their friends. Nina had confronted the leader, a mad scientist, and almost killed her until the woman cried, she was pregnant.".
"She wasn't lying, but it turns out, from her work in the labs, she had cancer, and we weren't able to save her or her kid... And we destroyed everything related to that weapon.".
"My brother, somehow, the Organization found out he was a spy... He tried to escape, but he was surrounded...".
"He killed himself?", Saguru asked curiously.
"Our Techphones, our smartphones can record the next 24 hours after being destroyed, audio at least even if the camera can't work. But it may take time to fix it and get that record. And since my brother's Technophone was heavily damaged, we still don't know exactly what happened.".
"Sorry about... everything I suppose.", Saguru said, not knowing how to comfort the man, since he seemed to care about the other deceased members, not just his brother.
"You said Date and Natalie had two kids, where are they now?", Saguru asked curiously.
"Indeed.", Takaaki nodded, "Date Takeda and Date Tamaki, or Maki as she preferred to be called. Nina and I are raising them with our two kids.".
"You and Nina? Your kids?", Saguru asked surprised.
Takaaki smiled, "We've been married for nine years now. Our eldest is Sarah, she's eight years old. And Hiroto is now five years old.".
Takaaki then smirked slightly, "You Detectives are sure very curious.".
"Well, you have to collect information next to observing, how else would I have known Kuroba's phobias hadn't I observed his behavior after the illusions?", Saguru smirked back in confidence.
"So, you've been working as a member of the SWAT team of FAUSD?", Makoto asked his mother as she leaned on the wall of the training room, which resembled a regular dojo.
"Hideoyashi and I had told them that we love teaching martial arts at the Iron Fist academy, so we don't want to do something that takes most of the time. So, we ended up working part-time here, often teaching martial arts at the Academy, or being called for SWAT, which isn't often.", Masaki explained.
"Why didn't you tell me? Does Hina know?", Makoto demanded, feeling slightly hurt that his mother hid something so important from him.
"Would you've believed me then if I told you I worked for space police? And you and Hina were still grieving for Hideo too.", Masaki sighed, "I'm sorry I've kept it hidden from you and Hina too, because she doesn't know either, but you hid being a Ranger from me.".
"Power Rangers rules.", Makoto stated.
"Well, FAUSD rules say the same too, unless you are 100% sure the person you'll tell won't tell anyone, not just trust.", Masaki stated back.
"So... did you figure my identity out or...".
"Honestly, no. You always leave the house for training even if there wasn't a robot attack. I had my doubts when I watched one of your fights, but then Chief Kuroda called me to his office and told me.", Masaki said before she narrowed her eyes at Makoto, "Which reminds me...".
Masaki walked towards Makoto who blinked at her in confusion, before she hit him hard on the head, making him cry in pain as he placed his hands on where she hit him.
"OW! KAASAN!", he cried in pain.
"That's for rushing into battle with that one-wheeled monster.", Masaki scolded as she crossed her arms, "So what exactly did that robot do to you?".
Makoto then told his mother what happened with Fearwheels. He saw his mother's eyes soften with longing and love once he mentioned that Hideoyashi arrived to save him and how he did so.
"Always a positive hero, that's my Hideo.", Masaki chuckled warmly making Makoto smile.
But he yelped once her facial expression changed into a stern one, something that never meant well for him.
"I'll make sure you don't ever rush into battle again... 500 Push Ups with two fingers only, now.", She ordered.
Makoto's eyes widened at the heavy workout he was asked to do, "But Kaasan-".
"Now...".
Dan leaned back on his chair at his desk as he placed a cigarette between his lips and lit it before he looked at his godsons who were sitting across his desk.
"You two suck at hiding your identities.", He declared.
"OI!", Both boys chorused.
"I find it weird how the BO hasn't figured out who the hell are you guys. I don't think I've seen reckless boys more than you, and that's saying something since I was the most reckless teenager I've ever known.", Dan continued.
"Hey, no one knows our alter egos from them, but Vermouth, but that is because she's our godmother.", Shinichi pointed out.
"And they don't know we are the Power Rangers.", Kaito pointed out too.
"Vermouth knows.", Dan said before he blew the smoke out.
A minute of silence passed before Kaito and Shinichi registered the fact that Dan had just declared.
"Nani?!", They chorused.
"The real Keiko Anderson was on vacation until the day of the exhibition, by the order of the Interpol. The one who was with us all the time was Vermouth. And she saw you morph.", Dan said.
"Wait... so if what you're saying is true... and if I remember what Hakuba and Hattori said about that meeting at the mansion... Then you were flirting with Vermouth...", Shinichi recalled as his face and Kaito's paled in disgust.
"I'd be lying if I said we were just flirting.", Dan smirked making Shinichi and Kaito pale even more.
"Please don't say anything else. I don't need images in my head.", Kaito said feeling nauseous before he registered Dan's words, "Wait, so that means Vermouth was helping you and Interpol?".
"Who do you think told me about Snake's sudden change of plans, bringing the snipers and bombers, or that Cognac is a Werelion?", Dan asked rhetorically.
"So, you've known every single step of the Organization during that time...", Shinichi deduced.
"Not exactly, we didn't know Snake was going to go crazy and bring other mutants like him, who one of them wanted to kill Hondou once she told him not to do a massacre, and the other tried to kill Vermouth, but she killed him.", Dan explained.
"By herself?", Kaito asked with a raised eyebrow and Dan nodded.
"Something tells me Vermouth isn't just good at espionage and reconnaissance...", Shinichi mumbled.
"Did you really think Vermouth is the boss's favorite just because she can do make up and act?", Dan snorted, "She's one of the top-notch assassins they have, one of the very few who have never failed to eliminate a target when ordered.".
Dan then narrowed his eyes at Shinichi, "And when she does fail, it's because she has decided that she has ulterior motives by keeping the target alive or doesn't want to kill it, not because the target outsmarted her. Many have outsmarted her, but not for long.".
Kaito was a bit confused by Dan's words, but Shinichi understood. Dan was telling him indirectly not to feel too confident about outsmarting Vermouth twice, that she let him, and his allies outsmart her easily, and if Vermouth was like that, then what was Gin like? Or any other agent he didn't know about yet?
"They still haven't found your daughter?", Kaiden asked once he looked at the image placed on the desk of Kuroda and his family.
"No... We're sure she's alive, and in the Organization.", Kuroda sighed heavily.
"The Black Organization?", Kaiden asked with a raised eyebrow, "Why?".
"18 years ago, I was in America for a chess tournament, to protect Japan's Shogi Champion; Haneda Kohji. Rum, the second man in the Organization was there, and he killed Kohji and Amanda Hughes, according to what we deduced. Haneda had left a dying message, while I found Amanda's bodyguard; Rachel Asaka was her name. I had a car accident after fighting with her in the car when she woke up from her unconsciousness. I woke up a month later, without my left eye, and they told me I was the only one in the car, so she escaped.", Kuroda explained as he opened the drawers of his desk.
He pulled out a file and placed it on the desk as he said, "Rum should've killed everyone with a clean crime scene but he didn't, a group of his men, whom we later identified as Organization members, attacked the Haneda household three months later, which was only a month and a half after Haneda Yasuharu, Kohji's father, contacted Akai Tsutomu and I to investigate his son's death, after it was labeled as a cold case.".
"They killed everyone in the household?", Kaiden asked with a grim face expression.
"Yasuharu, his wife Ichiyou, and Kohji's wife, Aya, were found dead, but Kohji and Aya's only son was missing, and so were all the papers related to him.", Kuroda said.
"Don't you know anything about the boy?".
"Nothing can tell if he is with the Organization or not, or if he is still alive or not, but I'm still looking for him and Asaca. Rum, on the other hand, knew I was investigating him, so around 10 years ago, he hit me with an armored vehicle while I was in my car... It was a fatal accident, and the last thing I saw before my eyes closed, was Rum standing away, watching his men pull out my unconscious nearly dying daughter from the backseat.", Kuroda explained heavily before letting out a huge sigh.
"Spent the last 10 years in a coma, and only woke up months ago. I still haven't even finished reading the reports of the missions that happened while I was out.", He said.
"I honestly don't know what to tell you, but I do understand, and I'm sorry for everything, old friend.", Kaiden said pitifully.
"Anyways... This file here,", Kuroda handed the file he placed on the desk to Kaiden, "has all the reports and information about Eden after the war, until today.".
"Eden?", Kaiden asked with wide eyes, his eyes slightly hopeful.
"Earth has signed up to help Eden rebuild. That's why we have access to such reports. I thought to myself, that you'd like something like this, to know what happened to your home.", Kuroda smiled friendly.
Kaiden opened the binder file, a longing smile spreading on his face as he saw the pictures of his people rebuilding, recovering, and the new projects they're working on, and he almost felt himself tear up once he saw the seven statues they built of the former Rangers, morphed but holding their helmets, and with them statues for him, Akira, Static, and Daichi.
"The new Emperor decided to build statues for the former Rangers since they sacrificed their lives for Eden, as well as other statues for other agents, and monuments for civilians lost. They built one for you three, or four because Eden believes had you stayed there, Akuma would've gotten his hands on the Medallions, and Eden would be gone forever.", Kuroda explained.
"In other words, you all aren't criminals on Eden, but heroes. So, if you'd like to go back to Eden, we can take you there.".
Kaiden stared at the statues with a smile before he looked up at Kuroda with a serious look and said, "No, not now.".
Kuroda raised a questioning eyebrow.
"The new Rangers, I see them as my children now. And I have friends here on Earth, including you. And now, Akuma has targeted Earth because I came here, I know he would've come eventually, but still...", Kaiden explained before he took a deep breath and looked back at Kuroda.
"He nearly destroyed my world, and he killed my friends and my students back on Eden. I won't let him do it again here with Earth.", Kaiden said determinedly, "I'll go back to Eden, when Akuma and the Chaos Army are gone.".
Kuroda smirked at Kaiden's determination, "Well, consider yourself a citizen of Earth, until then.".
Masumi had arrived at the Kudo residence and asked her family to sit with her in the living room because she had something important to tell them. She thought it was going to be easy, explaining everything to her parents, but she found herself fidgeting silently, not knowing how to start a conversation.
Her family waited a minute or two, then ten, until Mary broke the silence.
"What's exactly going on, Masumi?", Mary had had enough of waiting for Masumi to come forward with the truth, especially since she came back from the battle with that robot with one wheel. So, she asked her from where she sat next to her on the couch. Shukichi was on the other side, while Shuichi sat on an armchair.
"H-Huh? I didn't say anything.", Masumi blinked in confusion at her mother's tone.
"You've been throwing glances at us since that day you came back acting strange and a bit quiet, and now you asked us to sit here so you can tell us something, but you're fidgeting.", Mary explained.
"Well... The thing is...", Masumi was at a loss, not knowing how to explain to her mother what happened.
"What happened with that robot?", Mary went straight to the point.
"What-".
"We know Masumi. All of us.", Shuichi interrupted his sister.
Masumi looked back and forth between her brothers and mother and all she said was, "Was I that awful at hiding my Ranger identity?".
"Kaasan found out on her own. Shuu-nii had already followed you when you were with Conan-kun and he called me, and we watched that battle near Bell Tree Tower.", Shukichi explained.
"You disappear when they appear, and did you honestly think I wouldn't recognize your fighting style?", Mary nearly scoffed.
Masumi, however, was busy then, glaring at Shuichi who was giving her a nonchalant look, increasing the intensity of her glares for a second before she started, "Well it went like this...".
A few minutes later, the three remained silent trying to process what Masumi had just explained.
"So let me get this straight, you and your friends rushed cockily into the previous battle and got caught in an illusion where whatever pain you feel in it, you feel it physically. You saw us all dead then we rose and stabbed you with Tsutomu... and then you were saved by Elena and Atsushi...", Mary summed up.
"Pretty much.", Masumi nodded. The Pink Ranger raised an eyebrow once she saw Mary motioning with her finger for her to come closer.
Masumi leaned closer to Mary, only to yelp in pain once she received a hard punch on her head from an angry Mary, while Shukichi looked shocked, and Shuichi snorted.
"I didn't allow you to be a detective and a Ranger so you could get yourself recklessly and cockily in such situations.", Mary scolded.
"It was noth...", Masumi shut her mouth once Mary gave her a certain glare.
"But I find it amazing how Atsushi-Ojisan and Elena-Obasan saved you.", Shukichi said with a smile, making Mary's anger disappear into a look of a sad smile.
"I guess Elena did win the bet.", Mary mumbled under her breath.
"What I find intriguing is how Furuya has saved Akemi... how did he even do that?", Shuichi wondered.
Masumi said, "He let me meet her today, so I can trust him.".
"And why... does he want you to trust him?", Shuichi narrowed his eyes suspiciously at Masumi, "Actually, you've been acting strange whenever I mention him, looking away, blushing, sometimes even angry, or cursing yourself. And from your words, that means you have had several interactions with him before.".
Shukichi blinked in confusion at Masumi, while Shuichi was glaring heavily. Mary, on the other hand, was looking away, with a small smirk on her face. She glanced at Masumi's face and saw her face was blushing and her eyes showed interest, intrigue, challenge, and anger all at once because of Furuya being mentioned.
Mary remembered for a second when she worked with Tsutomu in the MI6, and she would often have that look in her eyes, and she'd be blushing whenever someone talked about Tsutomu and she'd say he was either a friend or she couldn't stand him. Oh well, here she was with three kids from him.
But she made a mental note to follow Masumi in this, not only because of what Furuya did and how he was older than Masumi, but because Shuichi and Shukichi are awful in their romances, and she didn't want her to be affected by them. One pushes his girlfriend, breaking up with her, away for her safety. The other is waiting to gain seven titles to confess.
'My sons are idiots in romance, I better be with Masumi on this.'.
"So, you met Akemi?", Mary changed the subject to a much more important subject.
"Ah, I came here to tell you everything, before we go to Agasa Hakase's house, Furuya will then arrive with Akemi there.", Masumi nodded.
"Then what are we waiting for?", Shukichi hopped off his chair cheerfully, "Let's have a family reunion!".
"Agreed, since someone removed the bugs I've placed in Agasa's house.", Shuichi nodded, ignoring the bewildered look from Shukichi and Masumi, and Mary simply rolled her eyes at her eldest son.
Haibara was in awe as Static displayed how they changed their arm into different weapons while she took notes in a notebook of hers.
"What's the metal you're made of?", She pointed the pen at him.
"Dragonion Metal, it's what they made the Ranger suits of.", Static answered before he pointed at something on the papers displayed on the desk in the lab, "Why are baijiu and Rum here among the ingredients?".
"They're part of the active ingredient, but temporary. Kudo and I discovered them coincidently and knew that they didn't even last 24 hours, so we deduced they weren't the main one.", Haibara stated as she looked at the small five mice inside a cage placed on another desk.
"We'll test the antidote on those mice, they were shrunk by the poison, and wait 48 hours, if they survive and remain in their normal size, it's good to go.", Haibara said.
Static blinked, "So... how many mice died for you to have 5 shrunk ones?".
Haibara side-eyed Static, "Do you really want to know?".
"Actually... No.".
"So, you made the disguise bracelet for Kudo?".
"Yup! But how did you know that water would electrocute us? I mean, did you know we were a robot?".
"No, but I believed that someone else must be using a device to disguise as Conan, because all the detective boys were there. And if it was a mask, well, there was a chance it was going to be ruined.".
"Static! Haibara! Come quick!", They heard Agasa call them.
The two shared a look before shrugging, Haibara placing her notebook and pencil aside before she and Static left the lab.
"What is it, Hakase?", Haibara said as she and Static left the lab.
"Shiho... please know that I didn't know about this, I just found out myself.", Ryu said, with a surprised and confused look on his face.
Haibara raised an eyebrow before she saw the man standing next to Agasa, Bourbon.
"Hello.", He greeted.
"He-".
"He's an NPA SB agent and a FAUSD agent working undercover, I can guarantee that!", Ryu interrupted before he pointed at the real problem, the woman who was walking around admiring Agasa's house.
"Akemi.", Rei called, making Haibara's heart drop and her eyes then widened once the woman turned around, and she saw her; Miyano Akemi, her elder sister, still alive.
"Shiho...", Akemi said warmly as she ran to hug her but stopped once Haibara walked a few steps back, Static hiding her behind them, not knowing who that woman was.
"No! Akemi died! Who the hell are you?!", Haibara cried angrily and fearfully before she sneered towards Rei, "Do you think this is funny?!".
"Shiho, it's really me.", Akemi said softly, feeling hurt that Haibara was rejecting her, but also understanding her shock and anger.
"No, there's no way it's you!", Haibara shook her head in denial.
The tension in the room had everyone unaware of their surroundings, so they didn't feel Subaru opening the door and walking in with Mary, Shukichi, and Masumi. Nor the fact that the other Rangers (Shinichi as Conan) with Dan, Nina, Akira, Hidemi, Kaiden, Takaaki, and Kuroda, teleported inside the house.
"Tell her something only you two know.", Static suggested.
Akemi blinked bemused at Static before she said, "When Madeira was suspicious of Ryu-kun being special due to him surviving your tests, she injected him with a dangerous poison, and he didn't heal himself so Madeira wouldn't punish you. He almost died and you brought me to your lab where he was, and then we carried him out of the building. We almost got caught, but Vermouth, surprisingly, helped us escape, and we drove him with a taxi to a nearby hospital.".
"Vermouth helped you?", Ryu echoed making Akemi blink and look at him surprised.
"Ryu-kun! I'm sorry, I didn't see you here! How are you now?", Akemi asked politely.
"I'm fine now, but seriously Vermouth helped you?", Ryu repeated the question.
"Yes, she did. Why though...", Akemi shrugged as an answer.
"Huh...", was all that Ryu said.
"You actually did that?", Kaito blinked at Ryu surprised.
"That crazy bitch was gonna kill her if she found out that Shiho was going easy on me.", Ryu shrugged before he realized that Kaito was here, he then saw the newcomers and raised an eyebrow, "When did you guys come here?".
Nina moved and pulled his ear, ignoring his curses and insults, "Someone needs to train harder on his sixth sense.", She smirked.
"Oneechan...". Akemi looked back at Haibara once she heard her voice.
Haibara moved ahead of Static, tears filling her eyes but she blinked them away.
Akemi walked a few steps before kneeling and hugging Haibara, allowing her own tears to fall.
"Thank God you're okay!", Akemi cried.
Haibara buried her face in Akemi's shoulder as she returned the hug, allowing her tears to fall then, but no one could see her.
"I've missed you.", was all Haibara could say. She raised her head and wiped her eyes before she then noticed the new people in the house, and her eyes zeroed in on Mary.
"Oneechan, look.", Haibara said. Akemi broke the hug before she turned around and her eyes widened.
"Hey, Akemi-chan, it's been a while.", Shukichi said with a smile, tears of happiness filling his eyes.
"Kichi-kun!", Akemi beamed, immediately recognising him.
"Akemi... Shiho...", was all Mary could say as she walked forward.
Akemi, the one who'd seen her aunt and used to play with her as a kid, rushed towards her and hugged her tightly, "Mary-Obasan!".
Mary smiled warmly as she returned the hug, feeling relieved and happy, that Akemi was alive, and that she finally got to be reunited with her. Mary then saw Haibara slightly hesitating, which wasn't good for Mary since she didn't know how to exactly react to that.
So what she found herself doing, was raising her hand towards Haibara. Haibara stared at her hand before she joined the hug just like Akemi.
"You were looking for us all the time, weren't you?", Haibara asked.
"I would've continued doing so until I found you, even if it was the last thing I'd do.", Mary replied.
Masumi smiled warmly at the sight, knowing that this was one of her mother's wishes, and she was now happy, even if she wasn't showing it. So, she turned to the man responsible for a part of this.
"Arigatou, Furuya-kun.", Masumi smiled happily at Rei.
Rei smiled warmly, feeling elated that Masumi was happy, and smiling at him, not anyone else.
"I did the right thing, so there is no need to thank me.", Rei nodded with a smile.
Subaru coughed making Masumi raise an eyebrow at him annoyed while Rei just smirked at him.
"Something wrong, Subaru-san?", He challenged.
"Yeah, you. Now move further away.", Subaru said coldly as he pushed Rei slightly away from Masumi.
"You're lucky...", Haibara chuckled as she, Akemi, and Mary broke the hug, "I tried to kill myself several times, or hand myself to the Organization.".
Mary looked alarmed at Haibara while Akemi almost gasped.
"But... I didn't because of them...", Haibara said as she walked away then pointed at Ryu, "Because I waited for the boy who showed me I can be hopeful and joyful during the dark days, the boy I fell in love with even though he was my lab rat for nearly 4 months.".
Ryu smiled warmly as Haibara looked at Agasa, "Because of a man who knew of my past, yet took me in and treated me like the daughter he never had.".
"You are my daughter, Ai-kun.", Agasa sniffed, feeling emotional from Haibara's acknowledgment as she looked at Ran.
"Because a girl who knew nothing about how dangerous this whole situation was, jumped and covered me with her body, ready to take the bullets instead of me from Calvados and Vermouth.".
"I'd have done it again for you, Ai-chan.", Ran smiled warmly at Haibara.
Haibara then looked at Conan, who had a normal face expression on his face. "Because of a boy, a great detective, who showed me I must not run away from my fate, that I must stand and fight, that I do have loved ones, who'd be broken if I'd hurt myself...", She smiled, "My partner in this fight against the Organization.".
Conan remained silent before a friendly smile appeared on his face, forgiving Haibara instantly, just like she'd just forgiven him from her words and attitude.
"Every Detective needs a sciencist best friend.", Conan smirked.
"I don't know how to thank you all.", Akemi said as she stood up and bowed.
"No need to thank us.", Ran said.
"We were just doing what was right.", Conan added.
Mary, on the other hand, had her eyes go back and forth between Conan and Ran. Masumi had told her loads about them, especially Ran, since Masumi hung around her and Sonoko a lot. And now looking at them, Mary can understand why Masumi would trust them with her life.
"Well.", Kuroda brought the attention to him, "I suppose we all should sit down and talk, especially with you, Sera-san, you haven't given a proper answer about joining FAUSD officially.".
Masumi's eyes widened before she looked at her mother, "Hey! You didn't tell me you were asked by space police to join!".
Mary simply replied, "You didn't ask.".
Never in his life did Agasa ever think that he'd find people in the highest positions in the law, even in this space police he'd just found out about from Ryu, entering his house. But here he was, his house was filled with secret agents, aliens, a robot, and metahumans.
"You didn't have to help me, Nina-kun.", Agasa said as he and Nina left the kitchen, holding trays with drinks.
"Nonsense, it was the least I could do after we arrived here unannounced, Agasa-Hakase.", Nina smiled gently as she placed the tray on the table, then she took Agasa's tray, and placed it next to the tray she once held.
Mary, Haibara, and Akemi sat on a couch. On another couch sat Agasa, Dan, and Kuroda. Ryu, Kaito, Static, and Conan preferred to sit on the ground next to the table.
Akira and Hidemi sat at the counter, followed by Makoto, Saguru, Heiji, Ran, Masumi, and Shukichi. Subaru, Rei, Nina, and Takaaki preferred to remain standing.
"So, I guess most of us know each other here?", Dan asked.
"Not really, considering one here is still pretending to be a university student.", Nina smirked at Subaru, "I have to give it to you though, Akai, no one would think it's you under that pink hair.".
"Oh well, I suppose my disguise is unnecessary now.", Subaru said as he turned off his voice changer before he removed his mask.
Shuichi then turned to Nina, "Not surprised you figured me out quick, Kazama.".
"You two know each other?", Conan blinked.
"We've worked before on a few missions that had the FBI work with the NPA SB.", Shuichi nodded.
"Officially, unlike now.", Rei grumbled.
"No one asked for your opinion.", Nina pointed out making Rei frown.
"I think we should start introducing ourselves now.", Kaiden said, having a feeling that an argument was going to happen between Rei and Nina. "My name is Kaiden Orionson, I'm the mentor of the Power Rangers and a Sage from Planet Eden Prime.", He said.
"Former Prince Akira Of Dragonia, but I go by Akira Kaidenson now.", Akira introduced next.
"We're two in one! A Dragonian mind fused with a robot's AI inside a robot's body. Robot's name is Neo Static 2.0 while the boy's name is Former Prince Daichi Of Dragonia, Akira's brother!", Static introduced with a wide smile, "You can all us Static though to avoid confusion.".
"Morofushi Takaaki, some friends call me Komei though. FAUSD Police Captain and Nagano Metropolitan Police Officer.", Takaaki nodded.
"Kazama Katrina, but I preferred to be called Nina. FAUSD Section 12 Captain and NPA SB Agent. But my name now is Morofushi Katrina,", Nina then pecked Takaaki on the cheek, who slightly blushed in response, "Since I married this gentleman.".
Ryu deadpanned at his sister's attitude before introducing himself, "Kazama Ryuuga, call me Ryu. Teitan Second Grade High School Student, Moto Racer, and FAUSD Section 12 Lieutenant Agent. Can I add Street Fighter too?".
"You mean how you go around starting fights with punks in Beika? No, you can't.", Dan snorted, "Kazama Dante, or Dan as everyone calls me. I guess you all already know my position in the Interpol, but I'm also Japan's FAUSD First Vice Chief.".
"Hondou Hidemi, but you may know me as Mizunashi Rena, the news reporter. CIA undercover agent as Kir, and recently I joined FAUSD Section 12 as a captain.", Hidemi nodded.
"Furuya Rei, but you knew me first as Amuro Tooru from Poirot Café. NPA SB agent and FAUSD Section 12 Captain, undercover in the Organization as Bourbon.", Rei introduced himself.
"Kuroda Hyoue, I'm Furuya and Kazama's boss in the NPA SB, Tokyo Police Criminal Investigations First Division's Superintendent, and the chief of Japan's FAUSD.", Kuroda nodded.
"Agasa Hiroshi, a brilliant professor.", Agasa said proudly and smugly, ignoring the deadpan looks he was receiving from Haibara, Conan, Ryu, and Ran.
"Akai Shukichi, but I go by Haneda Shukichi as a shogi player to honor Haneda Kohji and win the seven shogi titles, since the man was like a big brother to me.", Shukichi said.
"Mary Sera, MI6.", Mary said with her arms crossed.
"Akai Shuichi, FBI.", Shuichi said.
"Yeah, we know...", Haibara grumbled in annoyance and disgust making Akemi look at her confused.
"Miyano Akemi, former Black Organization doctor, codenamed Port.", Akemi said.
Haibara sighed, "Miyano Shiho, former Black Organization scientist, codenamed Sherry. But ever since Agasa-hakase took me in, I go by Haibara Ai.".
The Rangers then activated the Neomatrix, showing its real form to everyone, instead of the disguised watch form.
"Kuroba Kaito, Magician. You all know me as Kaitou Kid, the magnificent Phantom Thief,", Kaito said proudly as he performed a hand trick, summoning a card in his hand, "Savage White.".
"Hakuba Saguru, Detective. Savage Green.", Saguru nodded.
"Kyogoku Makoto, Martial Artist. Savage Black.", Makoto nodded.
"Akai Masumi, but I go by Sera Masumi. Detective. Savage Pink.", Masumi smirked confidently, reminding those who knew Tsutomu of him for a second.
"Hattori Heiji. Detective an' Kendouka. Savage Blue.", Heiji nodded with a confident smile.
"Mouri Ran, Martial Artist. Savage Yellow.", Ran nodded.
"Edogawa Conan, Detective, or actually...", Conan then smirked as he removed the glasses and placed them on the table. He then pressed the disguise bracelet, transforming in white light to his real form.
"Kudo Shinichi, Detective. Savage Red.", He said with a wider smirk.
"You really are Yukiko's son.", Dan deadpanned at Shinichi's theatre antics.
"I guess Mr. Savage Red here had something to do with that man living next to us, didn't he?", Haibara asked with a cold look making Shinichi chuckle nervously.
"Why do you dislike Shuichi-kun?", Akemi asked confused.
"Maybe because he failed to save you? And didn't help us get out?", Haibara pointed out.
"But Rei-kun did and I'm still alive... and we are here now.", Akemi pointed out making Haibara blink at her.
"I know my son is annoying and everything, Shiho, but can you at least tolerate him?", Mary said making Shuichi frown at her.
"Looks like I'm not the only one who thinks you're a pain.", Rei smirked.
"How did you save Akemi-san... I saw her die...", Shinichi asked Rei as he glanced at Akemi, recalling that day he still is haunted by often.
"Almost die.", Rei corrected, "I've already known about her deal with Gin, and I knew Gin would kill her. So, the plan was that she would wear a bulletproof vest, Gin would shoot her, I'd take her to a hospital, fake her death, then help her out.".
"But the type I wore wasn't good enough as Gin's bullet pierced it and went through my body..", Akemi recalled, feeling Haibara holding her hand tightly, "I faded out from bleeding..".
"She arrived at the nearest hospital, who managed to save her, but she was in a coma. With the help of some FAUSD agents, we faked her death there, and took her to our hospital, treating her until she woke up.", Rei explained.
"Bulletproof-piercing bullets have been made for rifles, but the Organization has made some for handguns... Not good.", Kuroda grumbled in anger.
"Arigatou, Furuya-kun, for saving my cousin.", Shuichi told Rei genuinely, making the other look at him surprised, for never in his life did he even imagine Akai thanking him for something.
"Shu-nii, how did Scotch die?", Masumi decided to open the subject now, to end the problem between her brother and her...
'Wait... since when did I start to consider Rei that important to be something to me?', She thought, feeling conflicted about her emotions towards Rei.
"I would like to know as well, as Hiro was my younger brother.", Takaaki said.
"What I saw was that you failed to save him and he shot himself.", Rei recalled.
"That's what the scene looked like to you, but Scotch, or Hiro, didn't shoot himself, neither did I shoot him.", Shuichi sighed heavily as he remembered that day.
"FBI?", Hiromitsu repeated surprised as he slowly lowered his gun, which was being held by Shuichi's hand, and he let go of it.
"You and Furuya-kun aren't the only undercover agents here.", Shuichi nodded.
Hiromitsu chuckled, "Who would've thought that the infamous whiskey trio; Bourbon, Rye, and Scotch of the Black Organization would actually be government agents?".
"We need to get out of here before we get caught, you need to fake your death since they know you're a rat.", Shuichi said seriously.
"I didn't make a mistake to be exposed, someone must've exposed me, either the Organization has hacked into the PSB, or there is a traitor there...", Hiromitsu mumbled as he was about to place the gun inside of his jacket, his hand already inside there, until his eyes widened once he looked up.
A Sniper.
Hiromitsu acted fast.
He kicked Shuichi away lightly in the abdomen as he backed himself to the wall crying, "I won't let you get me!", and pulled out his gun, the nozzle aiming at his heart.
As Shuichi ignored the light pain in his abdomen and moved towards Hiromitsu, footsteps were heard by both nearing, and before Hiromitsu could turn the nozzle of his gun, the sniper shot the bullet.
The bullet pierced Hiromitsu's heart, breaking his phone, and his FAUSD one. Hiromitsu fell, his blood staining the wall behind him in the place where his heart was, alongside Shuichi's face, and clothes.
Shuichi slightly turned his head and looked up, and caught sight of the sniper who killed Hiromitsu, standing on the building above, Chianti.
Chianti gave a thumbs up to Shuichi, and that made him understand that he wasn't caught by her, so he simply nodded before he looked back at Hiromitsu's dead body, as he heard someone crying behind.
"Oi! Scotch!", Rei had arrived.
"Zero...", Shuichi heard Hiromitsu say his last words.
Shuichi turned to Rei, holding his gun tightly in his hand, playing the role of the villain since Chianti was still there.
"Traitors must be killed accordingly, right?".
"I was sent to eliminate Scotch and so were you, Furuya-kun. But apparently, the Organization also sent Chianti, they wanted Morofushi-kun to be dead by any means.", Shuichi finished telling the tale, "I didn't force Scotch into suicide, nor did I fail at saving him, and nor did he commit suicide once he heard your steps.".
"I knew it... I knew Hiro would've never killed himself...", Nina mumbled as she stood close to her husband in support.
"He knew he was dead anyways, so he wanted Chianti to know you weren't a traitor.", Takaaki sighed heavily, "At least I know how he died.".
Rei, on the other hand, was staring at the ground, trying to register everything. There were dark thoughts that had been eating him since Scotch's death that it was his fault, so he threw all the blame on Akai to avoid facing the truth, that he was responsible for his best friend's death.
But now, it turns out that neither he nor Akai had a hand in Hiromitsu's death, it was all Chianti's doing.
Rei looked beside him once he felt a hand placed on his shoulder, to see that it belonged to Masumi, who stood close to him to support him after learning how his best friend had died.
"He died a hero.", Masumi reminded Rei.
Rei nodded with a sad smile as he covered her hand with his, squeezing it lightly as a thank you, "Yes, he did.".
The teenage boys had question marks over their heads at the interaction, Kuroda and Dan looked bored, Ran just gushed at them quietly, Mary smirked, Shukichi and Agasa looked slightly confused while Shuichi was bothered by the fact that Masumi was standing close to a man.
"How long do you think will it take those two to become official lovebirds?", Nina whispered to Takaaki.
Takaaki lightly chuckled, "Hiro told me that Furuya preferred strong, intelligent, and funny women. And since Sera-san fits the description, I don't think they'll take that long.".
"If we are done telling old tales, we need to talk about imoortant things.", Kuroda grumbled.
"We still need to know how did Kaasan, Kudo, and Shiho shrink from the drug.", Shuichi pointed out.
"It's Miyano to you.", Haibara mumbled in annoyance, still disliking Shuichi.
"I personally want to know how my daughter ended up becoming a Power Ranger.", Mary voiced her thoughts.
"And I want to know why Haibara kept the drug away from me.", Shinichi said determinedly.
"Isn't it obvious? Because if you took it, you'll recklessly expose the fact that you're still alive and go head-to-head with the Organization.", Haibara deadpanned.
Shinichi gave her a blank face expression as he said, "Seriously?".
"She has a point Shinichi, since it was your recklessness that got you shrunken in first place.", Ran scolded him with her arms crossed.
Shinichi rubbed the back of his head as he mumbled, "It never occurred to me that it would be that reason.".
"What was on yar mind den?", Heiji asked curiously.
"That she likes me like many girls do and wants to keep me from Ran.", Shinichi said sheepishly.
"Do you know how it feels to have a teacup smashed over your head?", Haibara asked as she took a sip from her cup, making Shinichi shiver slightly from the look she gave him as she said so.
Ryu then strangled Shinichi angrily, "And why would my girl look at you, you arrogant idiot?!".
"Oh, come on! Every girl likes me as I have a large number of fan girls, even Masumi did!", Shinichi cried in his defense as he tried to free himself from Ryu.
"Seriously?", Rei asked Masumi, a clear expression of annoyance and jealousy on his face.
"I was 8 back then, and he made my grumpy brother laugh, so it was kinda cool. Now, he isn't interesting to me.", Masumi replied instantly before she blinked.
'Wait... why did I reply so quickly to Rei? Why was I so concerned that I didn't want him to think I like Shinichi anymore? And his facial expression... is Rei... jealous?', She thought.
"Pretty sure Kazuha wants ta strangle ya for keepin' neechan waitin'.", Heiji scoffed at Shinichi.
"Akako doesn't like people anyways.", Saguru shrugged.
"Sonoko-san hasn't stopped talking about how much she wants to beat you up for keeping Ran waiting.", Makoto pointed out.
"I don't think Aoko will like the idea that you're my cousin and look like me, especially since I annoy her and prank her a lot.", Kaito smirked, "Hey, she might think you're Kaitou Kid!".
"You guys instantly proved me wrong when it came to other girls liking me faster than how I got my identity exposed to others, you guys truly are great friends.", Shinichi deadpanned.
"I think we should drop the 'girls who like you' thing before I end up doing something stupid.", Ran threatened as she cracked her knuckles as a warning, making Shinichi wince.
"Please do.", Haibara smirked.
"Uhhh, let me tell you all how I got shrunk!", Shinichi laughed nervously changing the conversation.
Shinichi then told his tale of how he got shrunk, followed by Haibara's, then Mary's, and then Shinichi told how he faked Akai's death, Rei then told how he found out about Akai, and Kaiden explained everything about the Power Rangers from the war until now, with the help of Akira and Static, even explaining what he knows about Akuma, and how did he end up as Akira and Static's guardian.
"Why did you change your opinion again about handing him over?", Haibara asked Rei.
"Geez, Shu-nii, you really do suck when it comes to dealing with girls if Shiho still can't stand you even after finding out the truth.", Masumi pointed out, earning an eye roll from Shuichi.
"Vermouth left all the possible methods to give you the drug and did what she did...", Dan rested his cheek on his hand, looking annoyed.
Mary raised an eyebrow at his words before she looked at Kaito who said, "Don't bother, there is something going on between him and Vermouth.".
'Something?', Mary thought as she then looked at Nina, 'I wonder...'.
"I still find it not a good idea to choose teenagers as Power Rangers.", Hidemi voiced her thoughts, "It's not because of their skills, it's because they're too young to experience the hell we live in, as government agents and law enforcement.".
"Hell is a perfect word, considering I participated in the Eden Scorch War.", Nina nodded, making the teens, but Ryu, look at her surprised.
"You did?", Shinichi and Kaito chorused.
"Eden had called for help from its allies, and Earth was one of the few planets to send FAUSD agents, in fact, it sent the largest number of agents compared to other planets.", Kaiden explained.
"I was among those agents, and so were Takaaki, Matsuda, Hagiwara, Hiro, Furuya, Natalie, and Date.", Nina said as she rubbed her temples, "Just recalling the sight of the bloodshed and the massacre the Chaos army had caused aggravates me...".
"The Black Organization isn't any different from the Chaos army, which is why I don't like the idea of you guys being the Power Rangers...", Haibara said as she stared at her now empty cup avoiding everyone's eyes, "They're much dangerous and stronger than you think they are... APTX 4869 is just one of the many experiments they're working on to modify themselves... They're real monsters...".
"There are all sorts of monsters living in the dark...", Mary said as she sipped her tea.
"Sometimes it takes monsters, to kill other monsters.", Nina said mysteriously with a faraway look.
"You don't understand... You don't know how powerful they are or what they can do...", Akemi shook her head, agreeing with her sister's opinion.
"We got an idea of what they can do when they abducted Nakamori-san.", Saguru recalled.
"And more importantly, when we faced the agents who transformed to Were animals.", Makoto added.
"So, she succeeded then...", Haibara mumbled, a fearful expression on her face.
Mary didn't like this. She didn't like seeing her niece terrified at mentioning this She, and when she looked at Akemi, she saw her having the same expression of fear.
"Who is she? And why are the both of you so afraid of her?", Mary demanded to know.
"Madeira.", Ryu spat the name, earning a nod from Akemi and Haibara.
"She's the head of the scientific department in the Organization... She's a cold-blooded woman, who enjoys experimenting on humans while alive... in all ways... And when the test subject dies in her hands... She feeds him or her to her two-headed dogs; Nemesis and Hades...", Akemi gulped, as she recalled the woman.
"She was closely monitoring me, trying to keep me separated from Akemi as much as possible, and keep me under her control... She was the one who'd give orders to the agents to change my location, whenever she felt I was being followed.", Shiho added, making Mary's eyes narrow.
How did Madeira know when to change to locations?
"She loathes anyone who has the chance to be of use in science more than her, so she loathed my existence and...", Haibara trailed off as she placed her cup back on the table and rubbed the bridge of her nose.
Mary thought about it for a second, Madeira knew when she was being followed and she loathes anyone who can be of use more than her in science, so that meant one thing.
"She killed Elena and Atsushi, didn't she?", Mary asked quietly making Haibara look away.
"She told me before that Rum had told her that I might be better than her. She then threatened me, and told me that she shot Elena and Atsushi in the head, before burning the lab down with them, and she can easily do so with me...", Haibara sighed heavily.
Mary clenched her fists tightly but said nothing, swearing deep down to burn Madeira when the chance comes. Shukichi had a solemn look on his face after hearing what Haibara and Akemi had to deal with, and how Elena and Atsushi died.
Shuichi had a grim look, swearing like his mother, to not just burn Madeira, but to burn the Organization.
Masumi couldn't hide the anger within her, as she clenched her fists tightly and her body started shaking, but Rei held her hand, stopping her shaking and making her look at him. She saw the solemn and grim expression on his face and remembered that Elena was important to him too.
"We will get them all, I promise.", He told her, and she simply nodded in response.
Ran blinked a few times before wiping the tears that formed in her eyes, while the others looked grim and angry.
"I suppose, since nearly everyone here has an issue with the Organization, we should all work together.", Kaiden said.
"Indeed, which is why I called the Rangers here with the agents who have issues or dealt with the Organization.", Kuroda nodded, "I also want to recruit the Akai Family to FAUSD, especially Mary, who the British Chief, as soon as he found out Mary was in Japan, asked me to do what he failed to do.".
"I couldn't easily trust anyone after everything that happened, and I had a daughter to raise on my own.", Mary replied nonchalantly.
"Good thing you called us, or else Kaasan was gonna put me through hell...", Makoto mumbled, earning a snicker from Heiji, Shinichi, and Kaito, but Saguru held his.
"I also want you with us, Agasa-hakase.", Kuroda said, surprising the latter.
"Me?!".
"The gadgets you've made for Conan are incredible for someone tinkering with stuff in his house, and they don't look suspicious at all, we need someone like you in the Technical Department.", Kuroda nodded.
Agasa rubbed his cheek in surprise before he shrugged, "Okay, I guess. Since I finally can show everyone my genius inventions!".
Haibara and Shinichi simply rolled their eyes.
"I still don't like the idea of you facing the Organization.", Haibara told the Rangers.
"I think you're underestimating these guys.", Akira spoke up.
"Look Shiho, those people are the main reason I grew up without a father, never got a chance to see my aunt and uncle, and they put you and Akemi through hell, so there is no way I'm not going to be in on taking them down.", Masumi said determinedly.
"We can' call ourselves Detectives if we back down from takin' down da bad guys, right Hakuba?", Heiji smirked towards the latter.
"I couldn't have said it better, Hattori.", Saguru nodded with a smirk.
"And no martial artist will just sit by and watch as people are using their powers to terrorize the weak.", Makoto said determinedly with his arms crossed.
"Ai-chan, those people put Shinichi through hell as Conan. Masumi, my best friend, has suffered from them indirectly. And you went through so much because of them, almost dying several times.", Ran said, "I appreciate the fact that you're worried about us, but I'm not going to sit down and watch as my loved ones face the danger alone.".
"I don't think I need to say anything more after what my friends did.", Shinichi smirked confidently at Haibara.
Haibara still looked worried, but she was also slightly touched by the determination the Rangers just showed, and so was Hidemi, who felt her doubts at them being chosen start to disappear.
"Before you guys go all superhero, do you even know who the founder and current possible boss of the Organization is?", Kuroda asked, "Haneda Kohji left the answer before he died.".
"Akai-san and I deduced that PUT ON MASCARA if rearranged, and by removing some letters, will give ASACA RUM, which meant that Asaca is Rum, but we have our suspicions since it was too easy.", Shinichi said, and Kuroda noted that none of the other Rangers nor Kaiden, Akira, and Static seemed confused, so Kuroda guessed that Shinichi must've told them everything.
"Well, Asaca, or actually Asaka, isn't Rum, just Amanda's bodyguard who is seeking revenge against Rum.", Kuroda corrected.
"It's not ASACA RUM...", Mary said after thinking about the words for some time. A grim facial expression took over as she said, "rearrange the words again... and it will give CARASUMA.".
"Karasuma Renya, is the founder and possible current boss of the organization.", Dan said grimly.
Looks of horror and confusion filled the faces of Shukichi, the Rangers, and Hidemi's faces. Shuichi, Rei, Nina, and Takaaki looked grim while Haibara and Akemi were fearful.
"Japan's infamous shady billionaire who should've died 50 years ago, has founded the most dangerous syndicate, and might still be alive and leading it.", Kuroda voiced everyone's thoughts.
A man was standing, watching his students train in the dojo. He was tall and muscular, with long black hair, cold blue eyes, light complexion, and wearing a black sleeveless karate Gi uniform.
His phone rang, and he answered.
"Mifune Yamato, here. Who is this?", He said.
"Who else do you think will call you from an unknown number?". Mifune's eyes widened, recognizing the voice instantly.
"What now? I thought you said everything is ok and everyone believes Kisaki's death was just a group of thugs' attack.", Mifune replied.
"It won't remain like that for long as long as Mouri Ran lives.".
"No one believes her words about what Kisaki said.".
"But she can get those words from you.".
"Please, I doubt she can even touch me after slacking in training for two years.", Mifune snorted.
"Perhaps, but I didn't call you to be careful...".
"Then what is it then?", Mifune asked confused.
"A task to do, that can make you filthy rich.".
"I'm listening, Sake.", Mifune said with an eager smirk.
"Bring me Mouri Ran, Mouri Kogoro, and Kisaki Eri, on their knees.".
I still am going on my hiatus until end of July or start of August, but I thought it would be bad to not post a new chapter until then...
also, since this fic isn't properly beta read, until then, I'll proof read it and edit it properly for any mistake in alignments or spelling or grammar.
So what do you guys think so far? Also this fic might end up at 100 chapters (so far if nothing changed)
now a serious question, do you think the fic has lost its Detective Conan/Magic Kaito feeling to it?
