Monday night arrives after the weekend, Selene's life became a quiet routine unlike her schedule in Kyuketsu. Which she liked because she felt like a respite as she advanced each day towards her longed-for freedom. It was midnight and everyone was already asleep, including the vampire.
Nobita had gotten up to go to the toilet to (unload), when he finished he remembered something and walked quickly to the bathroom to look at himself in the mirror. When he saw himself he sighed in relief, he had remembered the dream he had where he was a vampire and he couldn't help but look at himself by reflex, the boy took off the patch, there was no longer a bite on his neck, it barely looked like a double mosquito bite.
"Well, I won't have to use the patch anymore" The boy rubbed his neck remembering the moment when Selene bit him. "Although, I hope I can keep in touch with Selene when I return to her planet, I'm sure Doraemon has a gadget for that." But the ringing of the phone in the hallway interrupts his thoughts. "A call at this hour?"
The boy comes out of the bathroom straight to the phone. "Who could it be?" A little confused, Nobita takes the phone and answers. "Hello, Nobi residence."
"NOBITA, IT'S A GOOD THING YOU'RE AWAKE! HELP ME, IT'S AN EMERGENCY!"
The silly boy is startled because he recognizes the voice on the other end of the phone. "Gian?! What's going on?!"
Doraemon slides the closet door open and sees that Nobita wasn't there. Rubbing his eyes, he comes down from his small room and goes straight to open the bedroom door. The vampiress had also left her room. "Doraemon?" She leans to one side to see the room. "And Nobita?"
"He must have gone to the bathroom. He usually goes there at this time sometimes." The robot yawns and sees Nobita quickly going up the stairs. "See?" The surprise comes when Nobita grabs his friend by the arm and quickly takes him to the room. "H-HEY!" Selene is startled for that reason and also enters. "What's wrong? You look nervous."
"Doraemon, take the Anywhere Door to the courtyard of Gian's house, quickly!" The cat is confused by this request, but seeing the serious and worried look on his friend's face, he understood that something had happened, so he obeys and takes the door out of his pocket.
Upon opening it, the three of them go through the door arriving directly at Gian's house, mainly the courtyard, the newcomers are surprised to see Gian with his little sister fainted in his arms and his dog Muku at his side. "Gian! What happened to Jaiko?" says Nobita who approaches the pair with his friends.
"Nobita, you really came, even with Doraemon and Selene! I don't know what happened, I woke up when that happened and she told me that she heard a strange noise here in the yard and Muku crying, I immediately offered to go instead of her but she said not to worry and that she was just going to look for a while, so she went out! Suddenly I heard her scream and I went out to see her, when I arrived she was on the ground, she's pale! I wanted to call an ambulance, but I was so nervous and scared that when I grabbed the phone the first thing I thought of was calling your house!"
"That's terrible Takeshi. Is she your little sister?" Selene asks worried.
Gian nods in fear because it was the first time he saw his sister in that state "I know I'm not the one to ask you for help Nobita! But tell Doraemon to help her, please!"
The robust boy begins to tear up and snot come out, if there was one thing the pair knew was that he loved his sister more than anything. Despite everything, Nobita looks at Gian with a supportive smile "Don't worry, we'll help Jaiko! Isn't that why we're here?" The silly boy winks at him. The robust boy smiles gratefully as he continues to tear up.
"Let me see, I know first aid" Selene approaches Gian's little sister, but Muku smells her and growls aggressively at her, causing even Nobita to hide behind Doraemon in fear.
"Hey, don't be aggressive, she wants to help us!" Gian scolds his dog who just lets out a sad squeal and steps back, giving the vampire a chance "That's weird, it's the first time he growls at someone like that"
Although Selene already knew why she did it, she checks Jaiko's neck and it was what she feared: A bite. "Takeshi, could you take us to your sister's room? I know what we can do. Are your parents awake?"
Gian shakes his head "They were busy with the store all day today and they were so exhausted that they are sleeping soundly. I was thinking of going to wake them up as soon as possible but because of my nerves of not knowing what's wrong with Jaiko, the first thing that came to my mind was to call Nobita"
Selene smiles "As Nobita said, leave it to us."
In a moment, Selene and Doraemon were in Jaiko's room, Gian had taken her there and put her on her bed and then went out with Nobita to wait outside the room at Selene's request. Both were standing next to the door waiting, until it opened, obviously Gian entered first worried about his sister, she was asleep and had regained her color. "JAIKO!"
The robust boy shouts with happiness but the three of them tell him to keep quiet, to which he instantly covers his mouth. "Jaiko had fainted, apparently the same thing happened to her with the strange events, but don't worry, she won't have to go to the hospital, with the doctor's bag and Selene's care, she's as good as new. You just have to let her rest, she'll be better tomorrow, although she must feel a little weak. It's better that you don't tell your parents about this, it could cause them to panic because of it."
"I understand" Gian nods as the 4 of them leave the room leaving the little sister to sleep in her room. "Thanks Selene, thanks Doraemon!" The robust boy tears up and sniffles again, grateful for the pair's help.
"The truth is, it was a good idea that you called Nobita, we were able to fix this immediately and without problems" Selene also smiles. "Even though you have your differences, he didn't hesitate to let us know to come immediately"
Well, it was true, it was thanks to the actions of the boy with glasses that they were able to help Gian this time, who only squeezes his hands as he turns to look at the silly boy with a serious look while crying. Nobita is scared by that expression, but he is startled when he sees how Gian kneels with his head on the ground
"Forgive me Nobita, sorry for all the times I've tried to hit you and the times I've taken your things! Even with all that you came as soon as I called you on the phone, I thought you wouldn't come, I really did, I was so desperate to save Jaiko that I wanted to try anyway because I thought you could ask Doraemon, although I also thought you would say no, because even the way I'm even Shizuka didn't want to go with us to Hawaii, I think I'm realizing that now, forgive me!"
What Gian says leaves Nobita speechless, of course, it was because of Doraemon that he called him, it was unusual to see how his biggest bully was prostrate before him begging. Still, the boy exhales and shrugs. "I knew you were calling me for Doraemon. But, I was really worried about Jaiko as much as you were. I mean, it's true that you mistreat me and take my things, but you still have your moments, like this one. I know how much you love her and I couldn't let (whatever) happened to her go to nothing."
"Although, I would appreciate it if you calmed down a bit with your way of being, as I said, you have your moments of being a good guy despite being a brute at other times, for some reason we are friends in part. If you do that, I guess we will be fine, somewhat, I GUESS"
Nobita exhales thinking that he had screwed up because he told the tough guy what he thought, but to his surprise he received a hug immediately from Gian "THANK YOU, THANK YOU, YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE MY SISTER, AND DESPITE THE THINGS I DID, YOU STILL HELPED ME, YOU REALLY ARE A GOOD FRIEND, I'M GOING TO MODERATE WITH YOU, THANK YOU!"
"Uh yeah, I believe you, I believe you, but be careful with the snot!" Nobita smiles a little awkwardly at Gian's sniffling of happiness, which he releases instantly.
Selene and Doraemon smile "Who would have thought, Shizuka's scolding and this event softened Gian, hopefully with this he'll slow down a bit with respect to how he treats others, especially Nobita" says the robot cat scratching his head.
"That's what happens when you get out of the routine, if others want it, they also get out and Takeshi decided to do it, which is good" Selene leans to one side to look at Nobita, and after nodding her head, which surprises Nobita but then he looks at Gian.
"Hey Gian, there's something Selene wants to tell you but. Could you wait until tomorrow after school? It's important"
"Uh... Yeah, okay." The robust boy is confused by so much mystery but still accepts.
After a few minutes, Nobita, Doraemon and Selene were back in the former's room, the boy yawns and looks at Selene "Are you sure you want to tell Gian your secret?"
The vampiress nods as she looks at the pair "I saw from his actions that he was telling the truth that he felt sorry for what he put you through, of course it didn't go so easy for him, but progress is progress, besides, maybe we could need his help at some point, those from Scarlet Moon are still doing their thing"
Nobita is startled and looks at Doraemon "So what happened with Jaiko..."
"Yes, it was a vampire, and it's more than obvious that it was one of Scarlet Moon's, there were no signs of attacks over the weekend and today it happened again, it seems that little by little they are leaving aside causing problems, but we still shouldn't let our guard down. We asked you to leave because Selene gave her some of her blood, Jaiko was very pale, it seems that the vampire almost bled her dry"
"That's terrible! Thank goodness Selene has the healing factor or something worse would have happened" Nobita exhales in relief
"The reason why the Takeshi's pet growled at me is that possibly the vampire tried to attack him, but when she went out to see what was happening, she became the target, and Earth pets like dogs and cats can be able to detect supernatural things, at least that's what I read somewhere, it must have detected me with my smell and that's why it knew who I was despite having the bracelet. Those from the Scarlet Moon attack anything that has blood, even pets."
In reality, Scarlet Moon vampires behave like vampires of yesteryear where they attacked and fed on anything without setting limits, with an ego of superiority that they are better than other species, even over other vampires who don't share their same thoughts.
"But I'm sure that when the plan works and my aunt takes over, she'll stop the Scarlet Moons, after all, she's just as impressive as my father, so don't worry." The princess smiles at both of them, which makes them both feel calm, especially Nobita.
"Let's hope you're right about that, anyway, when all this is over we could give you a hand if necessary." Doraemon exhales tiredly. "Well, it was a morning full of surprises, let's sleep because you both have school tomorrow." The robot cat yawns as he goes back to his cozy space. "By the way, it was very kind of you to agree to help Gian despite the times he's made you cry."
"It's nothing, I know how much Jaiko means to him, despite everything and I like it when he gets what he deserves for being annoying, I don't want him to go through something horrible like almost losing his sister, he has his moments of being a good guy." Nobita shrugs again smiling "Good night Selene and if you're going to tell the truth to Gian and he gets upset because of who you are I'll defend you, don't worry."
The vampire sees how the boy says that seriously while he clenches his fists raising them as if he was going to punch someone, which makes her laugh quietly "Thanks for the intention Nobita, although it won't be necessary because remember that I have this if that happens" She points to her beautiful violet eyes "But I appreciate that, I helped him partly because you wanted to, good night Nobita"
Selene takes a few steps forward but stops while Nobita was about to turn off the light in the room "By the way, if you've been wondering since that night" she turns to look at him showing a laughing smile "Your blood seemed very good to me"
Nobita returned to the habit of turning red in embarrassment at what the vampire said "I-I-I wasn't asking myself that, I swear, rather! Why bring that up now?!" The boy just says that out loud while moving his hands nervously"
The vampiress laughs quietly at that reaction, as if she had done it on purpose. And yes, she said that on purpose "Sorry, it's been a long time since I've seen you turn red since we met, I really like that reaction of yours"
The girl approaches in vampire speed mode to hold the cord of the room's light being centimeters from the boy "See you in the morning"
Selene winks at him while turning off the light in the room for him, since being a vampire she could see perfectly in the dark, so she could return to her room without a problem. She leaves the boy's room closing the door, Nobita still with the same color face, he puts his hand on his neck where the bite was and slowly gets into his futon to go back to sleep.
The next day, at school, the pair of guys had arrived at the classroom, at that moment Suneo who had arrived earlier quickly approaches Nobita, the dwarf didn't seem happy "NOBITA! It's your fault Shizuka didn't want to go to Hawaii! How do you plan to make up for it?!"
"Good... morning? Hey, I don't know, if Shizuka didn't want to go it was because you left me aside on that trip like the other times, we are friends, but what you do is usually annoying, besides that I told her that she could decide what to do, and if she decided to cancel going with you and Gian, in the end it was her decision! Don't blame me!"
Nobita was starting to gain courage, normally he would be crying and making excuses, but what he experienced has made him much more determined in what he thought, Selene supported that way of being to face him, staying close smiling, Nobita wanted to overcome this on his own.
"Gian is upset with you with that too! How will you tell him?! Even for you Selene doesn't want to be closer to us!" Suneo claims annoyed while the rest except Dekisugi were enjoying the discussion taking advantage of the fact that the teacher hadn't arrived yet.
"If you were a little nicer and didn't leave a friend aside, I might consider getting along with you more. Nobita gave me shelter when I was alone in this city and became my first friend. If you really want me to consider you a friend more, apologize to him and stop treating him like someone inferior. I don't like those who use their assets to show off in a bad way" Selene just pouts with an annoyed look while looking to the side. Strong blow for the dwarf.
"Yes, Suneo!" Shizuka also arrives and quickly walks towards Suneo while looking at him angrily "It was my decision not to go because if we don't all have fun, then it's wrong. I admit that I made a small mistake in accepting even though Nobita told me that he doesn't care, everyone matters, we're friends. Stop being rude to him and apologize."
Social pressure. It was a gratifying sight for everyone, most of them didn't like how Suneo showed off his expensive things, Nobita wasn't the only one but he was the one who showed off the most. The silly boy felt the support of both of them, but that wasn't all.
"H-hey girls, no! Why am I going to apologize? I didn't do anything wrong, we're friends, aren't we, Nobita? You already know me as I am, so I'm not going to apologize for something like that, come on" Suneo smiles nervously because he felt that pressure, not from them but from the whole room.
Until he feels someone hit him on the head, the size of the bump was that of a baseball, it was Gian who did it, which was a surprise for Suneo "EEEEEHHHH! Why?!" he says tearfully.
"That was for being a fool. It's true, we are friends and that's why we have to accept that sometimes we go too far. Come on, apologize to Nobita! I already did it (early)" Gian says that proudly while scratching his nose smiling, which makes the rest smile.
"Thanks Gian, I hope your sister is better now" Nobita says that and the robust one nods happily
"She is, she woke up and feels much better, she doesn't remember why she fainted but she asked me to tell you both a thank you from her" Even Suneo was confused by that because he obviously didn't know what happened in the early morning, but Nobita and Selene smile knowing that Jaiko was better thanks to her and Doraemon.
"I'm surprised by Takeshi's change, although it's a good change" Shizuka says surprised but happy to see that at least one of the two took the initiative. "What happened to Jaiko?"
"We'll tell you later" Nobita whispered to her as he smiled at Selene.
Suneo looked cornered and could only say a "But-"
"That's what you decide Honekawa, it's not good to be alone if we still consider you a friend despite everything, showing off to bother everyone not only affects one but the others" Dekisugi also joins the conversation while the rest of the class nods. "I'm sure you don't want to stop being friends with everyone, you just have to realize certain things, loneliness can be terrible for those who don't want it. If it's true, then I also think you should apologize to Nobi" The silly boy can't help but smile at Dekisugi, although sometimes he considered him a (rival), he admitted to himself that it was good to have additional support.
"ALONE?! I don't want to!" Suneo tears up and seeing that everyone saw him, he felt defeated. He was someone who liked to be the center of attention and didn't want to be alone despite showing off what he had. So with no other option, he kneels with his head on the ground "Ok, ok, I'm sorry, but don't leave me alone please! I don't want to be left out, not even by you, Nobita! Next time I'll take you wherever you want but I'm sorry!"
"It sounds more like an apology for convenience than anything" Nobita exhales a little annoyed "But I guess it's the best apology you can come up with with pride, so, if you really stop excluding me or bragging with bad intentions, then okay, I forgive you, half like the apology you gave" The silly boy pouts annoyed but then smiles "Get up now, just like Gian, you have your moments sometimes"
"I'M VERY HAPPYYYY!" Suneo hugs a sniffling Nobita, another one. "And I'm going to make sure I earn the other half of forgiveness! Although I don't promise to stop bragging. But I'll do it more moderately"
"AAAAAH, I don't want any more snot, enough!" Nobita shouts as he tears up at this, making the other 4 chuckle in convivial mode. "This... Thanks Dekisugi."
"No problem Nobi, you're trying hard to improve, besides I couldn't just sit back." The smart boy smiles and goes back to his seat.
Selene exhales and looks at Suneo and Gian "After school, I'd like to tell you something, it's something I had kept but I think seeing how the whole strange events thing is going, I should tell you"
Suneo is confused but accepts that anyway, Gian had already been warned in advance so he's not surprised at all, Shizuka had a feeling she knew what it was, while Nobita is a little bewildered because even Suneo was going to know the truth because Selene wanted it that way... But then he smiles mischievously, since it was the moment he was most looking forward to since the night he met Selene.
And in part, he was going to enjoy it.
