As far as they could figure, when The Futurist's beams hit someone, they were taken out of their own time and sent to some point in their future, to see for themselves how different their future was from their expectations, and Ladybug could only imagine that not all those futures were as good as people hoped...but she couldn't help but wonder if her future was happy and bright.
