Wealth, Fame, Power. Gol Roger, the king of the pirates had this and more and in his dying words he drove countless sailors into searching for his long lost treasure, the One Piece. And three of those sailors are an energetic young man, a chubby young woman, and an orange haired woman and their names are Monkey D. Luffy, Salvia, and Nami. This is their story.

7. Chapter 7

A/N: And here's the next episode of the One Piece story. This time, with a few changes at present, one of which starts with Zoro's fight with Buggy.

Chapter 7: Desperate Situation!; Beast Tamer Mohji vs. Luffy and Salvia

Act I

Both Luffy and Nami were inside the cage.

"Nice going, blabbermouth...!", Nami scolded.

"Hey, guys, why are we in a cage?", Luffy asked before Buggy chuckled.

"It's a great day to be a pirate.", Buggy smirked before turning to his crew.

"Men! The chart to the Grand Line has finally been returned! Let's celebrate!", Buggy shouted before laughing as everyone else (except Luffy and Nami cheered).

Soon, the party had already started with some pirates eating and drinking while others were amusing themselves with their own, individual brand of entertainment. As for Luffy, he tried to reach for reach for the meat on a plate with a struggle.

"Have to... Almost there...!", Luffy grunted.

Unfortunately for him, he couldn't quite reach the meat and then his rubber arm finally gave out and retracted back to him.

"Dang it...!", Luffy grunted.

"All you had to do was keep your mouth shut, but instead, you had to say something stupid and get us both killed.", Nami scolded angrily.

Meanwhile, Buggy was chuckling for a moment.

"This is such a flashy party.", Buggy said before he shouted out to his crew.

"Now, listen up! Men, it's time to prepare the Buggy Ball!", Buggy shouted before his crew cheered.

The two were quite anxious, although only Nami was terrified enough to brace herself for the end. But after a moment, nothing happened. This puzzled everyone, even Captain Buggy himself, who turned to the crew member who lit the cannon and shouted in anger.

"Hey! You're not wimping out on me, are you?! Just light it, already!", Buggy shouted.

"I-I did.", the pirate responded, lighting said fuse only for it to be blown out just as quickly.

It happened a few more times before suddenly, he felt a bit of a breeze coming from behind.

"Hey..., wait a minute!", the pirate spoke before turning around to see Salvia, who had finished blowing at the fuse.

"Hi.", Salvia greeted before pointing up.

Puzzled, they looked up while turning around and saw Zoro too late before he slashed them with a leap, astounding everyone. Nami was surprised while Luffy grinned.

"Big sis! Zoro! What a relief.", Luffy called in amazement.

"Are you two okay, Luffy?", Salvia asked.

"Yeah. We're okay. I guess. I'm glad you found us. Now, hurry up and come get us outta here.", Luffy responded.

"How do you live with yourself? First, a bird caught you, and now, you and Nami are in a cage together?", Salvia asked.

"It's an interesting story, actually.", Luffy responded.

"That's...", one of the buggy pirates began.

"Yeah. That little brat just called him Zoro.", another said as Zoro glared at the snarling Buggy and his crew, making the crew gasp and wince in surprise and fear.

"Hey, now. It's not very nice of you guys to treat a poor girl like this.", Zoro sneered.

"So, you're Zoro. If you're here for my head, you've got quite the struggle before you.", Buggy warned.

"No. Not interested. I gave up pirate hunting. I'm here for my friend.", Zoro responded.

"But I'm interested, though. Killing you would bolster my reputation.", Buggy smirked.

"If you try, you'll die.", Zoro warned.

"Or at the very least, have your butt handed to you.", Salvia added.

"Oh, is that so?", Buggy smirked as he spun one of his swords before grasping it with his hand.

"I tried to warn you, but oh, well...", Zoro sighed.

Nevertheless, Buggy's crew cheered for him.

"You can do it, Buggy!", one of his crewmates cheered before he and the others started chanting his name.

Buggy licked one of his swords as if already tasting the blood spilt on it whilst Zoro prepared his 3-sword style. After a moment, Zoro prepared himself while Buggy charged at him, unmoving in his stance.

"DIE FLASHILY!", Buggy shouted as he leapt.

But all of a sudden, Zoro cut through both Buggy's torso, arm, and leg, prompting Nami to wince and turn her head away while his crew just gasped before Buggy landed. When he did, Zoro just stood up.

"No way...", Nami spoke in surprise.

"You're not fooling anyone, Buggy. I know you're using your Devil Fruit Powers right now.", Zoro responded.

Suddenly, Buggy's crew gasped in shock. Nami was in just as much shock, too.

"No way...! Buggy has Devil Fruit Powers?!", Nami shouted in surprise.

A moment later, as if to answer, Buggy snickered as he opened his eyes and looked toward Zoro.

"So, you've managed to figure me out, have you?", Buggy asked just as Salvia noticed one of his detached limbs moving by itself while holding a sword at the ready.

"Zoro, behind you!", Salvia shouted.

Thanks to her warning, Zoro was able to dodge out of the blade's path, just getting grazed by his side.

"Thanks for the tip, Salvia.", Zoro thanked, earning her nod.

"Then, that must mean you also know the name of the Devil Fruit that's given me my powers: the Chop-Chop Fruit. I'm a Chop-Chop person and now, I can never be defeated by the sword!", Buggy laughed, proceeding to let his hands attack Zoro with the blades in his hand while the latter blocked the blades with his 3 swords.

"His limbs can detach and move at will?", Nami asked in surprise.

"So, he's a chop-chop man? That's pretty freaky.", Luffy commented.

"Any more freaky than us?", Salvia sneered with one eyebrow raised.

Meanwhile, Zoro noticed that Buggy's hands have suddenly disappeared.

"What the...? Where did it go...?", Zoro puzzled.

Suddenly, he was slashed across his back, making him exclaim and tense in pain from the injury.

"ZORO!", Luffy and Salvia shouted as Nami gasped.

Then, Buggy's limbs reattached themselves back to his body.

"Well, now. I didn't hit any vital organs, but that's a serious wound you have there. So, I'm guessing... that I am the winner!", Buggy shouted before laughing maniacally while his crew chanted Buggy's name in celebration.

"Oh, crap...! The tables have turned! If we don't do something quick, they're gonna kill all four of us!", Nami thought.

Salvia tensed angrily at Buggy, who chuckled with a snort. But just before she could snap at him, Luffy suddenly shouted at him for her.

"SLASHING HIM IN THE BACK WAS A COWARDLY MOVE, YOU BIGNOSE!", Luffy insulted angrily, shocking friend and foe alike.

"You idiot! Don't call him that! What are you doing?!", Nami thought.

Frankly, Buggy's crew was stunned in fright while Salvia snickered, trying to hold in her laughter at what Luffy called Buggy.

"What's that... you... said?! WHO'S GOT A BIG NOSE?!", Buggy roared angrily, tossing his blade toward Luffy, who caught it with his mouth, much to Nami's surprise.

"Buggy! I'm gonna kick your butt soon as I get out of this cage!", Luffy threatened before biting off the sword with his teeth, only earning Buggy's laughter.

"You?! Kick my butt?! You've got a lot of nerve, kid. No, I'm afraid all four of you are going to die here today. By my own hand! So, if you're going to do any butt-kicking, you better do it soon!", Buggy discouraged before laughing maniacally.

Nami was wrought with despair over this.

"We're done for... It's all over...!", Nami despaired.

But like her brother, Salvia was not the sort to give up easily.

"There's gotta be some way to make sure he gets it and not us...", Salvia thought.

Then, she noticed the cannon that's aimed at Luffy and Nami in the cage.

"Hey..., wait a second.", Salvia said just before Luffy laughed loudly, stumping the clown pirate.

"I refuse to die! Big sis!", Luffy shouted.

"Huh? What is it, Luffy?", Salvia asked.

"You'd better have a really good plan or else we're all dead! So, what are you guys gonna do?!", Nami urged.

After a moment, Salvia looked at Luffy and then at the cannon before looking back at Luffy again, this time seeing him nod.

"Oh. I get it now.", Salvia grinned, proceeding toward the cannon.

But before she could touch it, Buggy called out to her.

"IMPUDENT FOOL! TIME TO DIE!", Buggy roared, preparing to slash at Salvia.

But this time, Salvia blocked the swords with her arm with no puncture, slash, or cut to be seen, much to the clown pirate's shock.

"What?!", Buggy exclaimed.

"Surprised? I guess you should've expected that from a chub-chub person.", Salvia smirked before grabbing his hands while pressing her feet against his on the ground.

"What the...?! What are you doing?!", Buggy exclaimed.

Salvia then moved her belly back and then, with a yell, thrusted it right back at him, knocking his torso right off toward the wall.

"CAPTAIN BUGGY!", the crew mates shouted.

"All right, time to turn this cannon around.", Salvia smirked, lifting the cannon up until it was facing the sky.

After that, she turned it around into the opposite direction and set it back down.

"Ta-da!", Salvia grinned.

"WAAAAAAH! CRAP, THE CANNON'S POINTED AT US! NOOO!", Buggy shouted in shock and panic.

"Oh, I get it. You're gonna blast that cannon right at them instead.", Nami realized.

"Not without a match to light it I won't. Good thing I snagged this when I did. Back when I knocked him into a wall just now.", Salvia smirked, a flashback of her belly knocking Buggy back just now, revealing that when he was launched back, a match stick was sent popping right off before it went back to the present.

"WAIT! JUST WAIT! THE CANNON'S STILL LOADED WITH A SPECIAL BUGGY BALL! DONE IN BY MY OWN BALL?! I DON'T WANT TO GO OUT LIKE THIS!", Buggy panicked as Salvia lit the cannon, earning Luffy's chuckle.

"Whoa-ho-ho-ho-ho!", Luffy chuckled before Salvia picked up both Zoro and the cage with Luffy and Nami inside.

"Hold on tight, guys, We're getting out of here!", Salvia urged as she, while holding them all, turned tail, and ran.

"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU JUST DID THAT, YOU GARGANTUAN TUB OF LARD! WAIT! N-N-NO! STOP! STOP IT NOW!", Buggy shouted in fear just right before the cannon fired at Buggy and his crew, engulfing them completely, even burning off the flag of the Buggy Pirates.

Act II

The explosion finally went off and seemingly sent Buggy and his crew away, their flag even getting burnt away by the blast. Once the blast died off, Salvia landed on a roof top, sighing in relief as she was still carrying Zoro as well as the cage with Luffy and Nami inside.

"Ahh... We made it.", Salvia grinned.

"Yeah, barely.", Zoro responded, resting on top of the cage Salvia's holding.

"How's your back, Zoro? Are you doing okay?", Salvia asked.

"It's fine. I got this.", Zoro replied.

Salvia gave a worried look toward Zoro in concern for a moment as Zoro leapt out ahead of her.

"Well..., if you say so.", Salvia said to herself before following after him while still carrying the caged Luffy and Nami.

"Listen, Salvia, do you think you can unlock the cage and let me out?", Nami asked.

"Hmm. Okay. I think it'd be better to have you and Luffy out of there anyway.", Salvia agreed as she set the cage down and broke open the cage door, allowing Luffy and Nami to get out.

"That way, I don't have to keep lugging this thing around.", Salvia added.

Then, she flung the cage away into the air.

Meanwhile, Buggy, who has survived the explosion, was steamed.

"Those 4 think they can mock me? Screw that! I consider this act of aggression a declaration of war.", Buggy said to himself.

Suddenly, out stepped a purple-maned, red-eyed lion with its trainer bearing white hair all on the sides of his head and bear ears sitting on top of it.

"There you are, Mohji.", Buggy said as the lion growled.

"I hope you wouldn't mind if I take the pirate hunter's head.", Mohji said.

"Hehehe. Be my guest...", Buggy replied.

Suddenly, Mohji looked up and saw a cage hurtling downwards.

"Huh? What the heck is that?", Mohji puzzled.

Puzzled, Buggy looked up, and was shocked upon seeing that it was the cage that Luffy and Nami were in earlier. He didn't even have enough time to react fast enough before... SMASH! The cage landed right on top of him!

"Captain Buggy!", Mohji exclaimed in shock.

Of course, Buggy was still alive. And worse than that, he's angrier than before.

"BRING THOSE MISERABLE CRETINS BACK TO ME ALIVE! I WANT THE HONOR OF SLICING THEM TO PIECES MYSELF!", Buggy shouted in anger.

Back at the center of town, Salvia looked around at the town.

"Oh, no... The town's so desolate. Like it's been abandoned.", Salvia said in worry.

"Not completely.", Zoro responded.

"Huh?", Salvia, Luffy, and Nami puzzled before looking to see a lone dog guarding some kind of shop out at the front porch.

"Apparently, this dog's a stubborn one.", Zoro said.

"Doggy.", Luffy grinned.

Then, he started making faces at it. But no matter how much he tried, the dog remained still, vigilant as ever.

"Zoro. It looks like this dog is frozen.", Luffy grinned as Salvia groaned.

"I don't care. He could sit there forever for all I care.", Zoro sighed.

But suddenly Nami smacked him in the head, making him wince in pain.

"HEY, WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT FOR?!", Zoro shouted.

"YOU KNOW VERY WELL WHAT!", Nami scolded.

"I wonder if it's dead.", Luffy said.

"Don't even say that, Luffy. It's not even dead, anyway. If it was, its eyes would be closed and it'd be lying down.", Salvia scolded.

"Huh. Well, there's only one way to find out.", Luffy responded, moving his finger toward the dog's snout.

But the moment he touched the dog, it snapped and bit into Luffy's face, making him scream in pain.

"Oh, Luffy...", Salvia sighed before the dog continued attacking Luffy at random parts of his body.

Needless to say, neither Nami nor Zoro were pleased.

"LUFFY! PLEASE QUIT GOOFING AROUND AND GET SERIOUS!", Nami and Zoro shouted in unison.

After a moment, though, the dog stopped attacking Luffy, now slightly battered from the attack.

"Yep. Totally not dead...", Luffy groaned.

"Seriously, Luffy. You always get in trouble like this.", Salvia sighed before going over to the dog.

"You look pretty unusual for a guard dog. But you still did a good job so far.", Salvia grinned as she picked it up.

The dog then started licking Salvia in the face, making her giggle. At the same time, someone with white hair and brass armor plates on his shoulders and ankles turned up.

"Hey, cut it out! That tickles!", Salvia laughed.

When he saw Salvia's massive size, he quite jumped. He hadn't expected to see anyone that big, much less just as portly.

"I can't believe how huge she is. But it looks like her heart's just as big if ChouChou likes her that much.", the man guessed to himself before calling out to the dog.

"Well, well, well. Looks like you've found quite a friend, there, ChouChou.", the man spoke up, prompting the crew of 4 to turn to notice him.

"Who's that?", Salvia puzzled.

"Well, it just so happens I'm the mayor of this town.", the mayor responded.

"You're the mayor?", Salvia asked.

"That's exactly what I said, yes.", the mayor responded before noticing the condition etched onto Zoro's back.

"My, my. That's quite an injury you have there. I take it that you had a run-in with Captain Buggy.", the mayor guessed.

"Yeah, so?", Zoro asked.

"We need to get you to a doctor.", the mayor urged.

Moments later, the mayor walked out of a building.

"How's Zoro?", Luffy asked.

"I told him he really should see a doctor. But he insisted that he didn't need to and just wanted to sleep it off.", the mayor responded.

"Well, that's Zoro for ya. He's stubborn like that. Kinda like ChouChou here.", Salvia said as said dog yawned.

"So, this dog's name is ChouChou?", Nami asked.

"Why's he just sitting there like that? He sure is a lazy dog.", Luffy commented.

"Says the guy who got attacked by said 'lazy dog'?", Salvia smirked, making Luffy blanch a bit.

"He's guarding the store.", the mayor explained.

"He's guarding it?", Nami and Salvia asked in unison.

"Yes. And the fact that he attacked this young man just goes to show you how serious it is for him.", the mayor explained.

"Oh. I see. It's a pet food shop.", Nami realized, looking past the dog to see what was being guarded.

"That's right. And the man who used to run this store was a very close friend of mine.", the mayor began before walking inside the shop.

After a moment, he came back and handed a bowl of dog food to ChouChou.

"There ya go.", the mayor said before ChouChou started eating.

"When he passed, I assumed the responsibility of taking care of ChouChou.", the mayor added.

"What happened to him?", Salvia asked.

"He died 3 months ago after fighting his illness for a very long time.", the mayor replied.

"Oh, no.", Salvia responded.

"Don't tell me he's been waiting for his master to return all this time?", Nami asked in worry.

"That seems to be the consensus...", the mayor said.

"Huh.", Nami said before the mayor sat down.

"But I find that very hard to believe. ChouChou is a smart dog. He's probably known for a while that his master isn't coming back.", the mayor said.

"But why stay here at all if that's true?", Salvia asked.

"I guess it's because he has a connection to it. It's his treasure. He's guarding it.", the mayor said.

"Wow... His treasure?", Salvia asked, looking toward the bracelet he got from Uta a while back.

"His master left him with this shop and that's why he protects it. I've tried to bring him back to my place so he won't be out of the elements, but he won't take so much as a step away from here.", the mayor added as ChouChou yawned, having already finished his meal, before picking up his empty bowl and starting off toward the mayor to set the bowl down in front of him and go back to his post.

But all of a sudden, the ground shook, the bowl shaking as well as a result. As if that wasn't bad enough, there were noises of snarls and growls of a lion nearby.

"Huh? What's that sound?", Nami asked.

"Is that a lion?", Salvia asked.

"IT'S HIM! BEAST TAMER MOHJI! WE GOTTA GO! RUN!", the mayor urged.

Then, a lion pressed its paw down on the ground.

"What do you mean by beast tamer?", Nami asked.

"You guys better get some cover. Things may get rough.", Salvia warned.

"Good plan, young lady!", the mayor shouted before running off.

"Wait, hold on!", Nami exclaimed.

Sure enough, a gigantic lion towered before Luffy and Salvia.

"I see that you friends have deserted you. And after you two just escaped.", Mohji mocked.

"And I see that you got it all wrong. They just left somewhere so they can take some cover.", Salvia replied.

"Heh! You tell yourself that, you fat chick.", Mohji retorted.

"Sticks and stones.", Salvia retorted back.

"Who the heck are you?", Luffy asked.

"I'm known as the Beast Tamer Mohji, a member of the Buggy Pirates.", Mohji replied.

"Whoa. That's a weird animal suit you got on.", Luffy commented before the lion snarled angrily.

"That was rude! This is manly hair!", Mohji shouted.

"Really? That's manly? Looks more like cute bear ears to me.", Salvia smirked.

"Okay, that's even weirder.", Luffy said.

"You two shouldn't assume that you're safe just because there's two of you. Neither of you must know about my terrifying skill! There is no animal in this world that Beast Tamer Mohji can't bend to do his bidding. Shake.", Mohji ordered, stepping down from his lion and toward ChouChou.

Suddenly, ChouChou bit Mohji's hand, making Salvia laugh.

"Why does this hurt so bad?!", Mohji exclaimed in pain, making Salvia laugh in reality.

"What's so darn funny?!", Mohji exclaimed as she finally got ChouChou off his arm.

"Sorry. But ChouChou's dead-set in defending this pet store. So, if you wanna break him, good luck with that.", Salvia snarked, sticking her tongue out at him, making Mohji growl angrily.

"You nameless thieves, I have no interest in killing either of you, but tell me where Roronoa Zoro is. Before I change my mind.", Mohji warned.

"No way.", Luffy refused.

"If you want Zoro, you're gonna have to go through us!", Salvia discouraged.

"RICHIE! ATTACK!", Mohji ordered before Richie, his lion, pounced and swiped his paw toward Luffy.

"Luffy!", Salvia shouted before she went in front of him and blocked the strike, though not without getting pushed back toward a nearby house.

Fortunately, she only hit the wall and landed on the ground.

"Luffy, are you all right?", Salvia asked, standing up and turning to see Luffy, who was practically and literally, in his case, flattened.

"Uh, kinda. Hold on a minute.", Luffy said in response.

Then, Luffy inflated himself enough to where he's not flat anymore by pressing his thumb in his mouth and blowing on it.

"Ah. That's better. That was intense.", Luffy said.

"Well, first things first. Before we recruit Nami as a navigator, we have to get rid of those Buggy Pirates first, starting with that beast tamer back there.", Salvia said.

"Yeah. Good plan.", Luffy agreed.

Suddenly Nami and the mayor popped up.

"You're both... alive?", the mayor asked.

"Yeah. It looks that way.", Salvia replied.

"Just got lucky, I guess.", Luffy added.

"Good thing you two are Devil Fruit Users. Otherwise, you'd both be scattered all over.", Nami grinned.

"Wait, you two are Devil Fruit users? Then, why exactly did you both decide to come to this town? And how'd you get involved with those pirates?", the mayor asked.

"All I'm doing is searching for a chart of the grand line and a good navigator to join my pirate crew.", Luffy responded.

"And while we're at it, we're here to free this town from the Buggy Pirates' tyranny.", Salvia added.

"I think that guy in the animal suit said he was looking for Zoro, so we gotta go!", Luffy stated as he and Salvia started to take off.

Meanwhile ChouChou stood defiantly against Mohji.

"Nice work. Good boy, Richie. Now, let's go find Zoro so I can defeat him and strengthen my reputation!", Mohji ordered.

Suddenly, Mohji noticed Richie's face.

"What's wrong? Oh, it's a pet food store. Make it quick, then. Let's go.", Mohji ordered before Richie roared.

Right at that moment, Luffy and Salvia arrived in time to see Richie advancing toward ChouChou.

"Oh, no, ChouChou!", Salvia gasped in worry.

"Huh? Don't tell me this pathetic little thing really thinks he can guard the shop.", Mohji scoffed before ChouChou barked and growled angrily at him.

"Be careful, ChouChou! I know how much you care for it, but it's not safe here!", Salvia shouted in worry.

Just then, Richie swiped his paw at the sign and ChouChou with it, damaging him enough to spill some blood (although the dog survived, just as resilient and stubborn as ever).

"No, ChouChou! Stop!", Salvia shouted.

Little could she know that as this dog stood defiant, his memories ran through his mind, starting with when his owner had moved in to the shop.

"ChouChou, this shop belongs to the two of us now.", the owner grinned as young ChouChou barked happily and offered to pitch in by finding a bag and dragging it close to the ground.

But he wound up picked up by his owner.

"That bag is way too big for you, ChouChou.", the owner chuckled.

In the present, before Richie could take another step closer, ChouChou bit into Richie's leg, making the lion roar in agony as another memory played in the dog's mind. This time, he was at the beach with his master, who struggled to get the cart going. That is, until ChouChou helped the cart wheel along and wound up getting taken a long for a ride, which left the poor dog's eyes spinning like comedic spirals.

"Be careful, ChouChou. Don't hurt yourself. Leave this to me.", the owner chuckled warmly.

In the present, ChouChou barked at Richie as Luffy and Salvia could only watch.

"Oh, poor ChouChou...", Salvia said in worry, starting to tear up.

In a 3rd memory, the owner spoke to ChouChou.

"Bad ChouChou. I told you not to eat the merchandise.", the owner scolded before he held out a plate of meat.

"Now, let's chow down.", the owner offered with both him and ChouChou eating off the same meat.

Presently, ChouChou was struck and flung to the air.

"ChouChou!", Salvia shouted before jumping up and catching him.

"What?!", Mohji puzzled before Salvia landed and setting him back down only for ChouChou to run back to the storehouse to guard it.

"Wait. I thought I killed you two. What are you both doing still alive?", Mohji said.

"This has gone on far enough, Mohji! We won't let you destroy the storehouse!", Salvia shouted.

"Oh? And why not?", Mohji asked mockingly.

"You have no idea how precious that storehouse is to ChouChou all those years ago up until now. And you had the nerve to try and attack it!", Salvia scolded as ChouChou growled at Richie.

At that moment, it went to a 4th memory of ChouChou's where his owner last spoke to him.

"ChouChou, I'm getting on at years now. I gotta go see the doctor for a check-up. But I'll be back. So guard the shop until I return. I'm counting on you, ChouChou. Hold down the fort.", the owner said as young ChouChou barked at him.

At present, Mohji just smirked at ChouChou.

"Well... Not ready to give up yet.", Mohji said.

ChouChou then leapt toward Richie only for the latter to strike him down again, spilling some of his blood on the bone sign, making Salvia gasp in horror as everything started to slow down, her hastening heartbeat the only sound she could ever hear. "Oh, well. At least now, I can dispense with you two.", Mohji smirked.

"How dare you...!", Salvia tensed as her heartbeat began, causing her body to shake in sync with said heartbeat.

"What was that? I can't hear you! Speak up, weakling!", Mohji exclaimed.

But that made Salvia angrier as she looked up with an angry glare, her red eyes somehow glowing even brighter.

"Huh?", Mohji puzzled, starting to get concerned.

"You shouldn't have tried to take away that dog's treasure. Because now, she's gonna kick your butt.", Luffy said intensely.

Just then, Salvia's body started to grow again to a point where her clothes seemingly burst off her growing body once it got wide enough before evaporating into smoke.

"So, that's it? You think a big buff like that's enough to scare me?", Mohji asked, starting to become afraid.

But it got worse for him there. Salvia's teeth sharpened into fangs all while her body turned dark brown and her blue fin emerged on the back, which truly pushed Mohji into a torrent of inescapable fear.

"WHAT?! NO, IT CAN'T BE!", Mohji exclaimed.

Then, to finish the change, Salvia's mouth distorted into a lizard-like snout again, prompting an inhuman, beastly roar at Mohji and Richie, making the two of them scream in fear and shock (mostly the former for his case).

"RICHIE, PLEASE PROTECT ME FROM THAT SEA KING MONSTER!", Mohji whined.

As shocked as he was, Richie charged in toward Salvia only to get flicked away and knocked out cold, his eyes turned into comedic spirals, which shocked Mohji completely out of fear.

"What are you?!", Mohji exclaimed.

"Well, my big sis ate the Chub-Chub Devil Fruit. And I ate a Devil Fruit, too. Only it was the Gum-Gum one.", Luffy responded coldly.

"So, then you both have... Devil Fruit powers like Captain Buggy, but yours turns you rubber and hers turns her abnormally large?!", Mohji realized in fear.

Hearing this, Salvia turned toward him with a beastly growl.

"Sorry! I apologize for attacking! I don't want any trouble!", Mohji pleaded.

But Salvia was not having it. Instead, she gave another inhuman roar and charged at him.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!", Mohji shouted in fear before finally passing out and landing on the ground, even foaming at the mouth.

The moment this happened, Salvia gave a calm, yet tense look with her eyes and snout-like mouth returning back to normal and she stopped her charge before she could follow through on it in time to see Mohji paralyzed with fear.

"You're so pathetic. And you call yourself a pirate when a measly Sea King frightens you.", Salvia scolded remorselessly.

Frankly, ChouChou was more than awestruck with her powers at display if not cautiously afraid. At that moment, Nami and the mayor arrived. But when they did, they were aghast with fear and terror upon seeing Salvia's sea king mode up close, both screaming.

"HOW THE HECK IS A SEA KING ON LAND!", Nami and the mayor shouted in unison, puzzling Salvia before he turned to notice them.

Luffy also turned to see them and then spoke up.

"Hey, don't worry. It's just Salvia.", Luffy assured.

But it didn't help Nami calm down at all.

"HOW AM I NOT SUPPOSED TO WORRY ABOUT THIS!?", Nami shouted in response.

Terrified by Salvia's current appearance, the mayor fainted and landed on his back.

"He's right, though. It is me. And if you'll hear me out, I'll explain how I transformed like this.", Salvia assured.

Now, Nami, being the logical person she is, needed answers so she calmed down.

"This better be good...", Nami said, begrudgingly.

A few moments had passed and by then Salvia had already explained everything.

"So, that brings us up to now.", Salvia said.

"So, you mean to tell me that the last time you transformed like that was up against Captain Morgan?", Nami asked.

"Yeah. I mean, it's bad enough to think about what he could do, but to see him actually hurt the people I care about most? That somehow sets me off more than I'd like. And this time, it took ChouChou sacrificing everything to defend this storehouse to push me over the edge again. Honestly, though, For a beast tamer, Mohji's definitely a scaredy-cat when it comes to Sea Kings. I was about to hit him, too, and then he just passed out.", Salvia explained.

"Well, as long as we don't have to deal with him.", Nami said.

Salvia then turned to see ChouChou and saw how damaged he was. Then, she turned back to the damaged storehouse. Afterwards, she took a deep breath and puffed out enough air for it to be seen from her nostrils before she reverted back to normal, her patches back on her body again, strap and all.

"There. That's better. Now, I can fit in the store house better.", Salvia said.

"Wait. You're not gonna eat all that stuff in there, are you?", Nami asked in worry.

"That depends. But either way, ChouChou definitely needs a treat after what he's been through to keep this storehouse safe. He deserves it.", Salvia said as she got stuck in the doorway for a moment before she squeezed herself inside.

Once inside, she looked around for a moment and heard her big belly grumbling, earning her flustered look as she glared at it.

"Belly, I am looking for some food to give to ChouChou.", Salvia said to her belly.

Then, she noticed a count of five boxes of the same treats he was fed earlier.

"Jackpot!", Salvia grinned.

Then, Salvia popped out of the storehouse, carrying the 5 boxes.

"There you go, ChouChou. Figured you could use a treat after what happened here today.", Salvia grinned before her belly growled loudly again, prompting her to slap her belly with her free hand.

"Belly! I will feed you in a minute.", Salvia scolded to her belly.

Afterwards, she set the boxes down near ChouChou and sat down.

"Here you go.", Salvia said as she did so.

"She fought the lion... in order to save the store house and the dog's food?", Nami asked to herself.

"You fought well, ChouChou.", Salvia grinned.

"Yeah. You gave it your all.", Luffy agreed.

Touched by the gesture, ChouChou picked up one of the boxes and started off toward the storehouse.

Once there, he set the box down and ran over to Salvia and Luffy with a gleeful bark.

"Thanks. Good luck to you, too, Doggy.", Luffy grinned.

"His name is ChouChou, remember, Luffy?", Salvia asked before ChouChou barked again and licked Salvia again, tickling her once again.

"Oh, you little trooper.", Salvia grinned with a giggle before she set him down and he left while pushing the other boxes to where the other one is, making Nami grin and giggle.

"Come on, Luffy. Let's pick 'em up and get going.", Salvia said while walking toward an unconscious Mohji.

"Heh. you got it, big sis.", Luffy grinned.

At that moment, Zoro sat up and sighed.

"Ahh, that's better. So what'd I miss?", Zoro asked before seeing an unconscious Mohji and Richie, the former of which was traumatized and muttering to himself, carried by Salvia.

"There's a sea king on land...! There's a sea king on land...!", Mohji muttered to himself.

"And what's with this guy?", Zoro asked.

"Well, it's an interesting story, actually.", Salvia responded.

Moments later, Luffy, Nami, Salvia, and Zoro were back where they last saw Buggy and his crew.

"So, you mind telling me why we're back here again?", Zoro asked.

"Yeah, there's nothing there but rubble.", Nami replied.

"If Mohji's one of the buggy pirates, then that means they're still out there. Naturally, it also means there's a good chance Buggy's still alive. So, I just need to know for sure... if Buggy the immortal's still out there.", Salvia replied with a tense glare.

A/N: Pretty funny how he who calls himself a beast tamer is terrified by the beast of the seas: a sea king, huh? Honestly, I kinda like how his voice sounded. That's why I had a thought about him being terrified by a beast of some kind. Preferably one that could not be tamed even by him, other than ChouChou, of course. Also, what he said just right before passing out is a reference in itself. After all, Super 17 said the same thing when he was defeated in the Xenoverse games from Dragon Ball. As for the other reference before then, I'm more than certain you can figure it out. In any case, there's bound to be a major surprise in the next chapter, so look forward to it.
