Another Eleventh
Target 1: The Beginning
Feeling the empty world around him as he felt his body sink in the darkness, a faint voice called to the teeange boy making his open his eyes to see the void he found himself in. The voice called to him over and over until it became clear as to what it was saying. It's words made the boy shiver in confusion.
"Hey! Are we going to play? Play with me!" A voice of a child spoke up, echoing in the vast void the boy woke up in. "Come on! Let's play!"
"Huh?" The teenage boy looked around. There was no signs of life around him, but he saw that he was glowing like a firefly in the darkness. Reaching in front of him didn't help his sight since it only showed darkness.
"He-Hello!" He called out, remembering that a child's voice was calling out to him. "Where are you?"
"Come on! Let's play!" The child's voice echoed. Since it echoed he couldn't tell where it was coming from. "Please play with me…. I'm lonely…"
The child's voice sounded sad and familiar to the teen. "Lonely? Where are you? I'll find you!"
"Please… I'm scared."
"Wah!" The same teenage boy fell from his bed and landed his head on the floor of the room. Rolling off the bed, he looked around and recognized the room he was in. "Ugh… what a weird dream…"
"Master Akito? Have you awakened?"A knock and voice could be heard from the other side of the grand doors that were the entrance of the fancy room. The door opened and there was a teenage man who wore a suit of a butler. Seeing the teen on the floor, he only smiled. "Oh, good morning, young master. Did you have an eventful sleep?"
"Haha, go ready the warm water, Leo." Akito frowned as he got to his feet. "Is there anything I need to do today?"
"It seems like your move to Japan is being delayed due to a meeting this afternoon." Leo noted as he started the water.
Akito blinked as he was taking off his shirt. "What? Why?" He walked over to Leo, pinning him against the wall. "What does Reborn have planned now?"
Leo blinked at Akito's body and turned away, blushing. "Young Master, please. I only see you as a little brother."
"Stop twisting this just because you're gay. Answer." Akito threatened.
"Master Tsunayoshi said that a family wishes to become allies with Vongola and wanted you to participate as the next boss of the Vongola Famiglia." Leo answered, pouting.
Yes, Akito is a mafia boss's son and next to take the mantle of Vongola Undicesimo. He was only thirteen and had been training under his father's old tutor, Reborn. He usually only sends summer break in Italy and actually lives In Japan with his grandparents and younger sibling. You would think that he didn't get along with his father, but they have a perfectly normal father-and-son relationship. But when it comes to work, Akito's father's word is rule.
"Ah, I wanted to go home already and see the others." He let out a sigh and splashed his face with the warm water. As He dried his face, he sat down and let Leo fix his bedhead. "Are you staying again this year or going back with us?"
Leo was an orphan child that Tsuna took in after discovering the boy's intense Sky flames. The two teens were only five years apart and grew up as brothers. However, when Leo turned 18, he asked to work in the mansion as Akito's butler, much to the dislike to the younger boy. He hated that he was above Leo but this was the only way Leo could stay in the family but not be a soldier to fight in battles. Plus, Leo always took care of Akito so it seemed natural for both of them.
"I am afraid that I will be looking after Master Tsunayoshi when you leave. I'll be training under the head butler so he may go on vacation soon." Leo walked over to the closet and pulled out some black gym shorts and a white T-shirt.
"I see…" Akito looked at his reflection and frowned at his hair. It was already starting to stick up. "Hey, Leo… Can you call Raph to the training room to help me with my morning workout? If he can't, ask Eiichi."
"Of course." Leo bowed. "After training, will you eat breakfast with them?"
"If they want to." Akito looked for his phone and blinked when Leo handed it to him. "Thanks. Can you also help me get some snacks for Ken? I promised him that I would go to the festival with him, but looks like I'm breaking my promise."
"Of course. I'll talk to him first and let him know before you can speak with him. I think I can lessen the damage." Leo chuckled.
Kenji Sawada, or Ken, was Akito's little brother who had just finished his first year in Elementary school. He was sad that his brother wasn't able to stay with him for the summer, but he promised that he would be back in time for the festival. However, Akito was breaking his promise and Kenji would stop talking to him for months. The young boy has a soft spot for Leo, so Leo telling Kenji would help immensely.
"Thanks. Akito watched as Leo bowed and left the room. He dressed in the clothes that was pulled out for him and then looked at his phone to see the time and a message from Reborn.
The message read: "We have a meeting today at six. You will be free until then. You are to attend in your uniform and enter with Raph and Yuuma."
"Eh? Yuuma?" Akito blinked. Then he realized what was going on. "Ah, I see. All the other allied families are coming here. Great."
Yuuma was the firstborn of Emma and was a part of Akito's family. The boy had both Earth flames and Sky flames, thanks to his father Simon Decimo and his mother. With both flames, Yuuma is the first Simon member who processed the Oath flame naturally at birth. Seeing this, Emma asked for Yuuma to be under Tsunayoshi's guidance, since Tsunayoshi could use the Oath flames as well. With these decisions, Yuuma was no longer able to aim for Simon Unidicesimo. Instead, he is welcomed in Akito's family as Akito's left-hand man.
"Well, Yuuma coming back is nice." Akito, now dressed, walked out of the room and grabbed a gym bag that was next to his door. He headed towards the stairs and went down, entering the hallway that separated two large rooms. One room was used as a gym with equipment and such. The other was empty and had some strong, thick cemented walls. He dropped the bag and started to stretch.
"Already here?" A voice from behind made Akito turn to see his best friend.
"Raph! You came!" Akito smiled.
"My boss summoned me so duh, I came." The darker brunette smirked, letting his green mischievous eyes shine. This was Raphael Gokudera, Akito's Storm guardian and right-hand man. He was skilled in archery and had a great aim. His father, Hayato Gokudera, was the right hand for Tsunayoshi and his mother, Haru Gokudera, was a close attendant of Akito's mother, Kyoko. The two were close in age and grew up as really close friends. However, since he managed to inherit his father's looks with his mother's hair color, he looked like a rebellious delinquent on the outside. However, he was a kind genius who helped Akito with paperwork and homework.
"I'm glad. I was scared that Eiichi would end up showing up and torturing me." Akito sighed. "I just got bad news that I have to stay here for another week. So I'm not in a great mood. I just wanna warm up."
Raph nodded. "I see." He got out a pistol and loaded it with rubber bullets. "I also heard about us staying here. Do you know the reason why?"
"If I did, I would have dismissed it and bought my own plane ticket." Akito frowned as he jumped to his feet. "What's the stupid reason?"
"An enemy family's supporters have decided to betray them and asked for us to support them." Raph chuckled at the annoyed face Akito was making. "I knew you would be like this."
"Who the hell are these people?" Akito asked as he started to jump in place and move his arms as a way to warm up. "Don't tell me Shadow Syndicate lost a family."
"They did." Raph laughed as his friend slipped and fell on his butt. "I don't know the name of that family but apparently they're so important that your father actually sat down and made a deal with them. That family decided that Vongola was more powerful and left the syndicate. To prove their loyalty, they have prepared to surrender their family member, of direct blood, to join your family."
"You mean, I get the scapegoat?" Akito frowned as he turned his body to sit facing his friend. "How do we not know this is a setup by the syndicate leader? The last time a family left that team, we found out they were just saying that but kept reporting back to them in hopes of finding our weakness?"
"Your father agreed to meet and talk with the current boss. Mukuro-san and Hibari are attending the meeting as well."
"Oh no." Akito sighed as he started to run around the open area. "They brought Hibari-san from Japan? I bet he's pissed."
Raph got his pistol ready and began to fire as his friend tried to dodge the bullets. "His reason for coming was to pick up his oldest son and go home. Decimo has to find a way to keep him here for the meeting. That's why he's not here right now."
Akito kicked a rubber bullet in the air and shook his head. "Eiichi is gonna have to babysit his father." Jumping to the side, rushing to where he kicks off the wall and tucks his body as it spins, Akito lands on his hands to let his feet kick a few bullets that came his way. "I can't believe Eiichi has more power than me in this situation!"
After enjoying their breakfast Raph and Akito walked towards the office of Vongola Decimo. On the way, the two boys were greeted by the staff. The boys had changed into some clothing that was prepared for them by some staff, but both boys knew that there was a group in the staff that worked for the Vongola idolized them. So the clothes that were prepared for them were high-quality brand clothing that made them appear as models for a magazine. Raph enjoyed the reactions of the maids while Akito found it bothersome but didn't get annoyed with the treatment since he knew they meant well. He just didn't like that the staff were treating him like eye candy.
Once they reached the office that was guarded by two guardians that are very loyal to Akito's father, Akito smiled at them. "Mr. Takashi and Uncle Ryohei! He greeted them both with a handshake that turned into a hug. "Morning!"
"Morning, Aki!" Takashi chuckled. Takashi Yamamoto is the Rain Guardian for Tsunayoshi, Akito's father. He is the father of Saki, Akito's childhood friend and rain guardian. Saki and Akito always hung out with Takashi due to his cheerful and welcoming personality. Also, he was the easy one to convince to let them tag along if he had small jobs to do as a mafia member. Such as catching a traitor or even meeting with a deal. Since Takashi was very strong and fast, so no one really lectured him about bringing children except his wife and Kyoko. "Sorry about not going to Japan right away, but there's always next year! Cheer up~!"
"Morning, my cute nephew!" Ryouhei smiled as he patted Akito's head, messing up his hair some more. Once he saw Raph, he frowned. "Hello, Child."
Raph only smirked. "Sup, Father-In-Law~!" He waved, making Ryouhei angry. "Your daughter called me and told me how much she misses me and wants me to hold her. I hope you don't mind, but once I get back, I want to give her a sweet, long kiss~!"
"You little… I won't accept this relationship TO THE EXTREME!" Ryohei began to throw punches at Raph at an alarming speed. However, Raph was able to dodge each punch. "LET ME HIT YOU! I WON'T EVER HAND OVER MY CUTE LITTLE LISANNA!"
Lisanna Sasagawa is Ryohei's youngest daughter and Akito's Sun Guardian. She was currently dating Raph and the two even gave each other promise rings. Of course, the fathers of the couple were against the relationship, but since they were against Haru and Hana, their own wives, the two guardians failed to separate them. Currently, Lisanna is in Japan with her mother, Hana, and her older sister, Hanabi.
"Uncle…" Akito sighed. "You already lost this fight. If you hurt Raph, you'll get kicked out of Japan again." This has happened. Both Haru and Hana were very angry at Ryohei for hurting Raph and excluded him from leaving Japan thanks to Kyoko's help in making her husband overwork him. Even Lisanna refused to talk to her father until he apologized.
Remembering this fact, Ryohei only stepped back and looked away. "Your father is waiting for you, Aki."
Thank you, Uncle." Akito smiled as he pulled Raph behind him and opened the door. "Stop antagonizing my uncle, Raph."
"But it's fun." Raph smiled but then turned serious when he saw the three figures in front of them.
In the room were three men who were in their 40s. A gray-haired man had his long hair tied in a low ponytail that draped over his shoulder, complimenting the black suit he was wearing. The other man was also wearing a black suit but also had on a fedora with curly sideburns. And lastly, the man at the desk was wearing a white suit with an orange button-up under. He looked like an older version of Akito, but more mature and intimidating. These three men were the top of the Vongola family: Hayato Gokudera, Reborn, and Tsunayoshi Sawada.
"Good morning, Decimo." Akito bowed and looked up to see his father's face. With the windows letting in the morning light, Akito could see his father's chocolate brown eyes shining as they gazed at him. At times like these, this man felt more like his boss than his father.
"Welcome you two." Decimo smiled. "Sorry about moving the date to go back home. As our successors, you need to be there since they asked for you."
Akito nodded as he walked over to a chair and sat down. "I heard. They want to throw their child to me as my guardian."
"Not only that," Reborn spoke up, "they have asked for an arranged marriage between their daughter and you, Akito."
"Huh?" Akito blinked. "What do you mean?"
"And you guys said yes?" Raph asked, looking at Hayato. "Dad, seriously?"
"Don't glare at me, Son." Hayato sighed. "We didn't accept the marriage proposal. That's for young Akito to decide. We changed the agreement to be that she would be welcomed to join his family as a guardian."
"However, I think you know what I want to ask, Akito." Tsuna spoke up, getting everyone's attention. "I want you to accept an engagement with that girl. The family that is offering her to us is the Cacciatori family."
"One of the Shadow Syndicate's main family branches?" Akito frowned. "It's a trap. Or at least they're planting a spy."
"We know." Tsuna nodded. "That's why I want you to keep an eye on her. Accept the engagement and make sure you know what she's up to. Once we catch her betraying us, you can drop the engagement and we can get some information from her."
Akito nodded. "Okay." Pulling back his sleeve, Akito looked at the black and white beaded bracelet on his wrist and began to fidget with it. After a while, AKito took a deep breath and got up from his seat. "Fine, when are we meeting them?"
"Tonight." Reborn looked at a pocket watch and closed it's cover. "You have eight hours until you to start getting ready."
"Fine." Akito turned towards the door and started walking in that direction. "Then I'll be gone until then."
"Where are you going?" Tsuna asked, confused.
Akito and Raph looked at each other and then at the confused Vongola. "KuroNeko's Bar! Later!"
Speaking the same words together was a habit the boys would accidentally do when they were children. When they discovered that they did this from time to time, they decided to train themselves to make it happen more often and when they wanted it to happen. Both sets of parents thought it was cute that their hearts and minds were together, allowing them to speak at once.
"Haha!" Tsuna chuckled. "Then be careful!"
Hayato sighed but smiled. "Don't give Noel too much work!"
Once the teens were gone, Reborn stepped towards his old student. "We're still working on his anger management. It's gonna be a while."
"My son doesn't have anger management. He's just mad that this is the reason that he's breaking a promise." Tsuna sighed. "It can't be helped."
"He's the opposite of your younger self." Reborn chuckled. "You used to whine about taking the Vongola mantle, trying to get out of having to deal with the mafia completely. Akito seems to not even care for it, accepting his fate."
"Yeah, well…" The boss only shook his head. "He grew up differently than me."
Outside of the Vongola mansion, there was a shop district that was always full of people and friendly faces. Since the Vongola sponsored most of the building there, due to the owners being related to the members of Vongola family, this area was very safe and peaceful.
"Good morning, Noel-kun!" An older woman waved as a young man walked out of his building to switch the sign. "I thought you were leaving for Japan this past weekend?"
The young man with long black and silky hair, turned to look at the older woman and smiled as his heterochromia eyes twinkled. He closed his purple eye to show his light brown eye, winking at the woman. "My boss asked me to delay it~! Want your usual for lunch?"
"That would be lovely~!" The old woman waved as she entered her store.
"I'll have it ready in twenty!" He waved back and started to walk back inside. However, seeing a wobbling hoodled person walking towards him. "Hm? Hello, are you okay?"
The hooded figure was wearing a hooded black pancho and some black and white striped shorts. They took off the hood to show her blonde hair braided to one side and looked at Noel with her ocean-blue eyes. Noel was shocked that she looked around his friend's age, Akito.
"Sorry, but can I ask you to make a meal for me?" The girl smiled. "I'm famished!"
