Hogwarts, Hospital Wing

Severus hated the hospital wing, the sterile smell of potions and the soft murmur of Madam Pomfrey bustling around attending to various injuries. It felt like he spent more time here than in his own dormitory. Over the years, Madam Pomfrey had become accustomed to his visits, to the point where she had given him a designated bed with his own personal pillow, a small gesture that somehow made the frequent stays a little more bearable.

He walked into the wing, his eyes scanning the rows of beds. His gaze settled on a bundle of blonde hair in one of the beds. Stuffing his hands into his pockets, Severus walked over and peered down at Charity, who seemed too absorbed in painting her nails to notice him.

"Uh..." Severus cleared his throat, hesitating for a moment.

Charity let out a shriek, startled by Severus's sudden appearance. In her surprise, she flung the bottle of nail polish she was holding, sending a splatter of pink across Severus's face and hair. She yelped and scrambled out of bed in a less than graceful manner, nearly tripping over herself.

"Oh my gosh, Severus! I'm so sorry!" Charity exclaimed, her cheeks turning pink with embarrassment as she fumbled to clean up the mess.

Severus wiped at the nail polish on his face with a grimace, muttering under his breath. "Watch what you're doing, Charity."

Charity's apology poured out in a rush. "I didn't mean to, I was just painting my nails and I didn't see you and—"

Madam Pomfrey, alerted by the commotion, hurried over with a concerned look on her face. "What on earth is going on here?"

Severus stepped back, his irritation evident. "It was an accident, Madam Pomfrey. Charity here seems to be a bit clumsy today."

Charity flushed even deeper, her attempts to clean up the nail polish becoming more frantic. "I'm really sorry, Madam Pomfrey. I didn't mean to make a mess."

Madam Pomfrey sighed, waving her wand to clean up the spilled nail polish. "Accidents happen, dear. Just be more careful next time."

Severus turned away, his mood darkening. He didn't need this added annoyance today. He glanced back at Charity, who was now sitting on the edge of her bed, looking mortified.

"Sorry," she muttered again, not meeting his eyes.

Severus sighed inwardly, his irritation fading slightly. "Just... be more aware of your surroundings, Charity. It's not always safe to be so distracted."

Charity nodded mutely, still avoiding his gaze.

With a last glance at Madam Pomfrey, who was already back to tending to other patients, Severus sighed again before leaning forward and wiping off some of the polish from her arm. "I heard what Lily did to you. How are your injuries?"

He watched as her eyes focused on where his hand rested on her arm, a dazed expression crossing her face before she snapped out of it.

"I'm fine," Charity said quickly, pulling her arm back and rubbing it absentmindedly. "It wasn't that bad. Just a few bruises and cuts. Madam Pomfrey fixed me up right away."

Severus raised an eyebrow, his expression skeptical. "You shouldn't be so forgiving, you know. Lily... what she did was wrong."

Charity gave a small, humorless laugh. "I know she doesn't like me. I just didn't expect it to get physical."

Severus frowned, his eyes darkening. "Don't make excuses for her... it was wrong."

Charity sighed, her shoulders slumping. "Everything seems complicated these days."

Severus felt a pang of empathy for Charity. Despite her perpetually sunny disposition, she seemed genuinely hurt and confused by the animosity she faced. "Just... you know how to swim?"

Charity looked up at him, her blue eyes searching his face. "What? Um... yeah, but why are you asking?"

"You're getting let out in tomrrow. After that, we can go swimming in the lake, hm?"

Charity blinked in surprise, clearly taken aback by the unexpected invitation. "Swimming in the lake? With you?"

Severus shrugged, trying to play it off as nonchalant. "Yes. It'll be a good way to clear your head. And... I could use the distraction as well."

A hesitant smile spread across Charity's face. "Okay, Severus. That sounds... nice."

Severus nodded, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "I'll meet you by the lake then. Just... be careful on your way there."

"I will," Charity promised, her smile growing more genuine.

Severus turned to leave, his mind already racing with thoughts of the lake. It had been a long time since he'd done something as simple and normal as swimming. Maybe this would be a chance to escape, even if just for a little while, from the complexities of their lives at Hogwarts. Or use the time to work out a bit more.

As he walked through the corridors, he couldn't help but feel a strange sense of anticipation. Despite everything, perhaps there were still moments of simplicity and peace to be found, even in the midst of the chaos.

He was quickly knocked off his thought train when he felt himself being pulled into a classroom, shoved into a chair and a bright light shined in his face. "What the..."

"Silence!"

He froze and stared at the figure in front of him. It was hard to see the outline because of the cloak, but by the voice, he could tell whoever it was was trying to make their voice deeper. With a small flick of his wrist, the light turned toward the figure, revealing two students who tumbled out of the cloak, groaning about their backs before turning their attention back to him.

"What did you do to Charity?!" the girl demanded, marching forward and slamming her fist down on the table. The boy stood back, his hand fiddling with something in his bag.

Severus recognized the pair—Amelia Bonds and Luke Base, two 5th-year Hufflepuffs. He frowned, his mind racing to understand the situation. "I didn't do anything to her," he said evenly, his eyes narrowing. "Why are you accusing me?"

Amelia leaned closer, her eyes blazing with anger. "We saw you talking to her in the hospital wing. Charity is our friend, and we want to make sure she's okay. She's been acting strange ever since she met you on the train, so what the hell did you do to her?!"

Severus's frown deepened. "I haven't done anything to Charity," he repeated, his voice cold. "She was upset about what happened with Lily. I was just trying to help her."

Luke stepped forward, still holding the vial of Veritaserum. "We just want to know the truth, Snape. If you're innocent, you have nothing to worry about."

Severus sighed, realizing that he needed to de-escalate the situation. "Fine. Ask her yourself. Charity is still in the wing., go talk to her instead of bothering me."

Amelia exchanged a look with Luke, her anger still simmering but tempered by a hint of uncertainty. "We'll do that," she said finally. "But if we find out you're lying, you'll regret it."

Severus nodded, relieved that they were willing to back down. "You won't. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have things to do."

As Amelia and Luke gathered their things and left the classroom, Severus leaned back in his chair, feeling the weight of the day's events pressing down on him. It seemed that no matter what he did, trouble always found him.

He made his way back to the corridors, his thoughts drifting to the upcoming letter he had to write to Rocky and his Ma.

Slytherin Common Room

In a dark corner of the common room sat a boy, his hair tied back and his eyes trained on one person—Severus Snape.

Ever since Severus beat Potter to a bloody mess, everyone had set their eyes on him. From Theodosia Zabini, a Slytherin sex symbol, to Bellatrix Black, a crazy hot girl with a dangerous streak, Severus had become the center of attention.

The boy watched from his spot, his emotions a whirlwind of lust and desire as he watched Severus make his way over to a chair and start to read. Such a simple thing, yet it got him so worked up. He could do anything to Snape, make him all his, and nobody would dare question a Black.

Regulus Black, the younger brother of the infamous Sirius Black, had always felt overshadowed by his brother's wild antics and rebellious nature. But Regulus was different—he was methodical, calculating, and intensely focused. And right now, all his focus was on Severus Snape.

Regulus had been drawn to Severus from the moment he first saw him. There was something about Severus's brooding nature, his quiet intensity, that fascinated Regulus. Over time, his fascination had grown into something more, something deeper and more consuming. He wanted Severus, wanted to be possessed by him, and he was willing to do whatever it took to make that happen.

As Severus turned a page in his book, Regulus's heart pounded in his chest. He imagined walking over to Severus, interrupting his reading, and letting Severus claim him in front of everyone. The very thought sent a shiver down his spine.

Unable to contain himself any longer, Regulus stood up and made his way over to where Severus was sitting. He moved with a purpose, his eyes never leaving Severus's face. As he reached him, he took a deep breath and spoke.

"Severus," he said, his voice low and shaky. "We need to talk."

Severus looked up from his book, his expression one of mild annoyance. "What is it, Regulus?" he asked, his tone cold.

Regulus leaned in closer, his heart pounding. "I-..I..Will you help me in Potions? I suck." He couldn't do it, just staring into the boy's eyes made his knees buckle and his cheeks flush.

Severus's eyebrow arched slightly, and he set his book down. "Potions?" he repeated, clearly skeptical. "Since when do you need help with Potions, Regulus?"

Regulus fidgeted, his fingers nervously playing with the hem of his robe. "I've been struggling lately," he lied, his voice barely above a whisper. "And I thought, maybe, you could tutor me. You're the best in our year, after all."

Severus regarded him for a moment, his dark eyes searching Regulus's face. "Fine," he said finally. "But don't waste my time. If you're serious about this, we'll start tomorrow evening in the library."

Regulus's heart soared, and he nodded eagerly. "Thank you, Severus. I promise I won't waste your time."

Severus picked up his book again, effectively ending the conversation. Regulus turned and walked away, a satisfied smile playing on his lips. This was his chance—his opportunity to get closer to Severus, to make him see that they belonged together.

And nothing would get in his way, not even what he didn't know was coming...
