The morning sun broke through the cloudless darkness of the night, signaling the start of another day. A beautiful day it would become, judging from the rising temperature in that early morning. Not that Brian would know that, as he was still asleep in his tent.
''He looks kind of innocent like that, don't you think, Shi?'' Shiangxiang whispered as she lay beside her lord in their shared tent, the blankets hiding her naked figure. Her gaze was that of a maiden in love.
''Indeed he does, my lady. It is almost a shame to wake him up,'' She whispered back. She had the expression of a maiden in love as well.
''You wouldn't say he was such an extraordinary warrior and lord when you would at him like that,'' Shang commented.
''Or such a benevolent lover,'' Lianshi grinned mischievously as she lay on her stomach. ''Of course, you are quite the devoted one yourself.''
''Shi!'' Shangxiang whispered embarrassedly as she still remembered the previous night quite well.
''Don't act all embarrassed now. You were quite going at it tonight,'' The guardian teased. ''My breasts are still sensitive.''
''Then you shouldn't have dangled them in front of me so roughly,'' Shangxiang retorted. ''And you can't say anything about me with the way you have been acting the last two days. It felt you have been hogging him all by yourself...''
''I just felt like rewarding him a bit more for everything he had done. You aren't jealous, aren't you?'' She teased again.
''Of course not. It is just... You really let go of yourself when you returned from that walk two days ago. As if you didn't have to hold back anymore. Like you trusted him with everything you had. And last night too. And lord Brian is acting more intimate with us as well like he has been relieved off a burden,'' Shangxiang explained. ''I don't know why though.''
''Oh, that,'' Lianshi responded with a reassuring smile. ''It seems our darling just was a bit worried about our love for him. It is a bit difficult to explain, so maybe you have to ask him some time later.'' She smiled blissfully as she stared at her beloved. ''It is just, that he really cares about us and carries a great burden. We have to show him our love is not a burden.''
''Our love is a burden? How can our love be a burden?'' Shangxiang asked worriedly.
''I can't really explain it. You'll have to talk to him about that,'' Lianshi answered. ''However, you don't have to worry about if he loves you or not. He was conflicted to unite the land solely for you, after all.'' She added with a sisterly smile.
''If you say so...'' Shangxiang responded slightly confused. To ease her own insecurities, she lay her head on her lover's chest. As an almost instant response, the arm that rested above her enveloped her and pulled her softly closer. Confusment soon was replaced by joy, and she let out a smile as she whispered, ''Very well. I will show you how much I love him.''
''That is more like it. Let us both show him that we are not a burden,'' Lianshi smiled as she lay on his other chest. Unbeknownst to them both, their pillow was already wide awake for quite a while. Feeling he had interrupted a good moment, he pretended to sleep. Now that the lovers lay onto him again while saying something like that, how the hell was he supposed to wake up? His junior was fully alive under the blankets, but Brian knew now was not the time for that.
Just as he was trying to fall asleep again, a new menu popped in front of his closed eyes. Great battle. A battle to gain new allies. What timing.
As he read the message in his mind, the sound of horses stopping could be heard outside of his tent. ''At ease. I come to bring an urgent message to our lord. Lord Brian, I come to report!'' Xiahou Dun announced from outside the tent.
''Wake him. I'll handle this,'' Shangxiang whispered as she grabbed a blanket, put it on her front, and walked towards the entrance. She opened the flap just enough for her head to fit through. ''Lord Brian is still sleeping. Can I pass something along?'' She asked.
Xiahou Dun nodded as he reported, ''Our scouts have picked up movement from Cao Pi's army in Xuchang. Further, we have received reports that Lu Bu's army is marching toward Ding Tao. We need lord Brian to make a decision regarding upcoming conflicts.''
''Very well,'' a familiar voice responded behind Shangxiang. Brian poked his head out of the tent. 'Xiahou Dun. Tell my officers to gather in the courtyard in one hour. We will try to coordinate a strategy there.''
''Understood!'' Xiahou Dun acknowledged before he left again. Once again, he was pleased with his lord. Brian wasn't a man who would wait for something to escalate, but somebody who would prepare for the worst possibilities. You are truly a man worthy to claim this land as your own, lord Brian. And I will make sure that ambition becomes a reality.
One hour later, the courtyard inside Baima Castle was filled with soldiers and officers. Provisions in the plenty were crafted into simple dishes, perfect for early morning breakfast. While some ranked soldiers just relaxed and enjoyed their breakfast, most of the officers presented just kept their attention on their lord and his commanding officers and strategists.
''Lu Su, Li Ru, please start the meeting,'' The man in charge started as he stood in front of the tables in the middle, each table surrounded by officers who wanted to have a word on the strategies and plans for upcoming missions.
''Of course, my lord,'' both strategists responded simultaneously. Li Ri stepped forward as he started. ''In front of you, there is a map of Guan Du and the surrounding cities. The blue lines are our current borders, while the red and yellow illustrate the armies of Cao Pi and Lu Bu. Our scouts have indicated both armies are marching aggressively towards our border.''
''We need strategies and volunteers for the defense of Guan Du and Luo Yang. We also need an offensive unit to take their armies down so that they no longer will threaten us.'' Lu Su added.
''Bounce ideas of with each other. Do not be content with the first strategy. There can be a fatal flaw in every corner, and a solution for it in another corner.'' Brian spoke. ''Whatever you think your knowledge is on pair compared to the others or not, I want you to participate and learn from each other. Get it done.''
The moment that command came out, several officers started discussions that would last several hours. Long-time officers like Lu Su and Li Ru started immediately, despite the latter knowing how lacking his insight was compared to figures like Sima Yi and Zhuge Liang. Others, such as the nervous and insecure Xu Shu took a bit longer to join the discussion, although he was actively listening to the many suggestions.
Brain himself did not participate. He did not want to influence his strategists with his own strategies. Especially since some belonged to their future selves. But that wasn't the only reason.
The officers in front of him were famous names that once held the reigns of a battlefield in their hands. Each single of them was a master strategist or a famous warrior who had the influence to turn the era around for the better, or for the worse. If they had that power separately, how much would they be able to accomplish together? I want to see a land created by those people, Brian thought as he spectated the groups discussing fiercely.
While his officers were busy, he kept his eyes to a view alone for him to see. Four battles had appeared in his vision, two great battles where he could recruit new allies, one for fame, and another one for resources. These are probably the strategies they will come up with. Either we enter a great battle to defeat Wen Chou, enter a great battle to defeat Cao Zhang, choose a battle that I am not even sure what's going to happen in or just go and collect resources again. Why do we need so many resources anyway? I am done with those small fry battles. Brian internally complained. I hope Mi Tong and Delan have sent some soldiers in my absence to the north and west. I really could use those extra facilities and weapon materials.
Brian was so occupied by the scenery of his menu and his officers, that he did not notice that the female officers were making plans of their own. No matter how Brian changed the land, gender equality was far from realistic. While listening to her husband's fierce discussions, which he seemed to enjoy all too much, Zhang Chunhae's eyes met Lianshi's gaze. An unspoken question was asked, and seconds later, another pair of eyes answered her question.
With a satisfied smile, Zhang Chunhae returned her gaze to her husband, both her mind and body wanting to end the next battle as quickly as possible.
Meanwhile, Cai Wenji was playing her harp to calm herself and the surrounding soldiers for the upcoming battles. It was there a rumor about her music came into existence and spread quickly throughout the ranks.
That evening, five strategists had gathered in the general's tent with the conclusions of their heated discussions. They represented their tactics and strategy without missing a single beat to their lord.
''We will split our army into two forces. One force will defend Luo Yang from Lu Bu's forces. To accomplish this, we will need some resources from the surrounding area to deploy defending catapults and ballistae. The second force will be divided into the main unit and two flank units who will cut off their food supplies in Xu Tian to the south and Chang she in the west,'' Zhuge Liang explained.
''To make certain the flanks succeed, we will be launching a direct assault on Xuchang. They will try to barricade the entrance from us by heavily fortifying the city of Chen Lu in the north,'' Fa Zhang added.
''Which will be perfect for a fire attack,'' Lu Su commented with a confident smile. ''We will force them to fortify and ignite their fortification to destroy their morale.'' Brian looked a bit troubled, but his expression was as readable as a simple scroll. ''Do not worry. We will extinguish the flames as quickly as possible when we have won. Further, we will try to keep the civils' death to a minimum.'' Lu Su added.
''Very well. Who is in charge of the fire attack?'' Brian asked.
''That would be me,'' Zhuge Liang answered. ''To ensure they will fortify the city, we will bring the juggernauts along. Lady Ying would be in command of that unit,'' he added confidently.
Brian nodded in confirmation of that strategy, looked at the map, and asked, ''Where do you require my assistance the most?''
Sima Yi pointed at the town of Xu Tian. ''We require your help here. The town of Xu Tian is Cao Pi's greatest food supply and it is heavily defended. If we can cut their supply off there, victory over Xuchang will be certain.''
''We will strike all three positions at the same time. Although Xu Tian is heavily defended, we cannot send a large force to conquer it. Thus, we require you to conquer it with a minimal task force,'' Fa Zhang spoke up next.
''Are you certain you want me with such an important task? Your debt would increase to the point that not much can pay it back,'' Brian grinned.
Fa Zhang responded with a smile. ''The debt to the devil is for a lifetime, which is precisely what I offer you if you desire so.'' Please don't be so sweet. You are going to give me diabetes, and we don't have the ability to develop a cure for it. Brian thought as he blushed and turned back to the map.
That evening, the strategies for the upcoming battles were set. At the cover of darkness, Brian and a select few rode out towards Xu Tian. At the same time, the main army was split into two fractions; A defending force under Sima Yi's lead, and an attacking force under the leadership of Zhuge Liang. It was the battle of the Wu Zhang Plains all over again. However, this time, they had something to fight for.
One step closer to the unity of the land. With determined expressions and their fate in their lord, the two strategists faced the two armies with unearthly confidence.
Xu Tian - Unconventional Battle
A battle focused on attack, in which fame can be easily gained. It seems that Cheng Yuanzhi has taken to the battlefield.
Cheng Yuanzhi? Wasn't he supposed to be part of the Yellow Turban Rebellions? Brian wondered as he snuck to the town of Xu Tian at the cover of night and rainfall. Alongside him were his three bodyguards Wang Yi, Huang Zhong, and Wei Yan, and the officers Zhang Jun and Cao Zhen. They had surprisingly bonded well alongside one another in this full-day travel. Azeil was not alongside him, but Ranger was and provided a perfect safe distance scout.
Brian stared at the menu as he went through the green vegetation surrounding the town. Suddenly, he was stopped by a hand on his shoulder. ''Trap...There...'' Wei Yan whispered as he snuck forward, and crawled on all four as he got closer to the taut line. He followed the line until he a spiked ball on its end. With a careful swipe, Wei Yan cut the rope and guided the ball slowly to a standstill. ''Trap...Neutralized...''
''Thank you, Wei Yan. Let us continue on,'' Brian whispered as he gave the big wildman a shoulder pat and continued leading the group in silence. That continued on until finally, the battle map appeared on his menu, and he could finally see what he was facing. He didn't like it one bit.
Why are there so many mobile commanders? That doesn't even make any sense. Brian sighed as he grabbed the rank 4 bow from his back. A message appeared in front of him. Capture the central base. Of course, you want me to capture the central base...This is where all the mobile commanders are! Brian sighed again. Well, nobody said this is going to be easy. Let's do this. A small detail he also noticed but took for granted at this point was that he was not fully healed after the battle of Guan Du. His health bar was still in the green, but it was something he had to be cautious of.
''Wang Yi, Huang Zhong, Wei Yan, we will be starting the attack now. Their central base is our target. If we have that base captured, we have won this battle. Make sure to move swiftly and stealthily until then.'' His bodyguards nodded in confirmation. ''Cao Zhen, Zhang Jun, I want you to tie every soldier up or hide the bodies we just took care of. Move swiftly, and make sure you are not seen by the enemy.'' Both officers nodded in unison. ''Let's go.''
With a sprint, Brian and his four officers ran to the town's wall. There were two guards who stood at the entrance of the city, but a quick dagger in the dark and an arrow to the windpipe ended their guarding duties. Another soldier saw it, but before he could warn anybody, he was silenced by another arrow.
Brian tapped Huang Zhong on the shoulder before moving up. Since it was nightfall, the streets were deserted except for the occasional patrol. Brian's choice of bodyguards proved once again the best as Wang Yi assassinated the first soldier with ease, and the other targets were either eliminated by Huang Zhong and his arrows, or Wei Yan's traps.
When they finally arrived at the central base, undetected by the enemy, Brian commanded, ''It is time to take this base. Follow me.'' Before charging forward himself.
The guards who stood at the door were talking to one another. ''To think we would be guards for Wei. I felt like yesterday when we were just some scavengers.''
''I am also very glad lord Cheng Yuanzhi finally got the recognition he deserves. He has been working so hard for us and it finally paid...'' There was a moment of silence.
''Guan, why did you go quiet all of a sudd...'' The guard fell silent as a fell to the ground, unconscious but far from life-threatening, alongside the other unconscious guard.
As a few of Brian's soldiers dragged the unconscious guards to the other tied-up soldiers, Brian himself snuck inside the base. At least a hundred soldiers lay asleep. His map was completely flooded with red motionless dots, except for three green dots that were his bodyguards. He grabbed his swallow swords from his back, crouched down, and planted his sword in a soldier's head. Gotta remember this is a game. This is a game, and nothing more. He thought to himself as he pulled the sword out and walked towards the next one, adding another number to his count and another nightmare to the list.
He would have preferred to tie those soldiers up, but he didn't have the men or the resources for it. Thus, he had to change his mindset. He had to remind himself he was the devil.
His bodyguards followed his example, killing the sleeping soldiers swiftly and painlessly. Although it went against the principles of honor, since the town was infiltrated without any resistance anyway, that was not much of an issue anymore. In just a few minutes, the number of red dots had drastically decreased to 1/4th of what it had been. The rest of the soldiers had been tied up, including the officer in command.
By now, the town was alerted that there had been intruders, but it didn't matter anyway. The majority of the soldiers were tied up or part of counting numbers in Brian's HUD. A few officers were in the south base, including Cheng Yuanzhi himself, but the majority of the city had fallen. ''Cao Zhen, Zhang Jun, lock the gates and reassure the civilians. Wang Yi, Huang Zhong, Wei Yan, move out! Capture this city as quickly as possible.''
''Forward...! Destroy...Enemy...!'' Wei Yan thundered as he began his rampage.
''That's the spirit, young one. Let's teach the enemy a thing or two about battle!'' Huang Zhong roared as he joined Wei Yan in his rampage.
Brian did not expect a similar battle cry from his newest bodyguard, but Wang Yi proved that their conversation and their travel had been of importance to her. ''I will take any action necessary to protect my lord, even if it means cleansing these hands in blood. Anywho will stand in my way will perish!'' she announced as he ran alongside the two other officers.
''Bloody hell. I already feel sorry for those guys.'' Brian muttered to himself as he saw his officers leave. Another message appeared in his HUD. A messenger has appeared. Get to the messenger to receive the latest news!
''Oh, that might be a messenger from Sima Yi. Better not let him wait,'' Brian sighed as he ran forward. How miraculous it seemed, a whistle was enough to call Shadow Runner from outside the town. In less than a minute, Shadow Runner ran past him, enabling Brian to jump on him.
The wind and rain clashed against and fell past Brian's head as Shadow Runner just kept running and running. Running for a human who had come almost every day in the previous winter, just to be able to ride him. Just before the winter ended, he had succeeded, and just like Hex Mark, Brian's riding skills with Cao Cao's horse felt as if he was born and raised on top of the noble beast.
In a matter of minutes, he reached the other side of the town, where the messenger was running. Trying to get the messenger's attention, he commanded, ''Halt! Who are you, and who send you here?''
''Ah, lord Brian!'' The messenger responded as he bowed. ''I have come to bring a message from Lord Zhuge Liang and Lord Sima Yi!'' He pulled something from his back and handed it over. Brian took it and started reading.
Greetings, lord Brian. I have come to bring a report of the situation. Our attacks on Chen Lu and Chang She have been successful. No civilian casualties thus far. We will be continuing our assault on Xu Chang. Meanwhile, I received reports from Sima Yi that Yan Liang and Wen Chou have laid siege on Guan Du. However, they can not come close because of the siege weapons, and they can't cut off the supply line from Luoyang, thus their siege is ineffective. Sima Yi concluded there must be something else they are trying to do, so he has already several plans in motion to defend against unexpected events. We will await your arrival in Xu Chang. Zhuge Liang out.
''I see. You have done well to report this to me. Please take some rest here until you have regained your energy and then return to Luoyang,'' Brian ordered.
''Yes sir.'' The messenger responded as he bowed, walked away, and let out a big sigh of relief. Seems everything is going according to plan. Time to finish this and get to the real battle. He thought as he turned around and rode towards where his bodyguards were.
The legend of Brian Miller. A starting legend from a small lord from the town of Jin Cheng. Almost everyone in Ancient China had heard stories of the man, the myth, the legend himself how he had defeated the famous young tiger of Wu, and the strategist Lu Su. How the earth trembled in his battle against the two famous warriors Zhao Yun and Xing Cai, where his army had defeated a much larger force just by his leadership. The prosperity and safety he brought to the towns and cities he conquered on his path to unite everyone on the same banner. It had to be all an exaggeration, right?
Propaganda was not new to the people of Xu Tian, and although Cao Pi promised them the world, only a little was eventually realized. The people were still hungry, and the rations they had collected over the past month all were supposed to be reserved for the army stationed in Xu Chang.
''These food supplies will not go the Xu Chang. My officers Cao Zhen and Zhang Jun will be distributing the food equally among you all. Eat to your heart's content. Even the guards of this town who have been captured will be receiving the best care we can offer. When Xu Chang is ours, more support will come to this town to provide better living conditions.'' The new lord of Xu Chang shouted over the crowd in the plaza.
''Is he serious?'' Most people wondered out loud as they had never expected that from their invader.
Some of the women were still crying about their lost husbands, who were burned not too far away in a respectful ritual. Thus, these new widows were especially conflicted by the fact that the man who killed their love also provided them with more than their lord had done for them in years. But the kids did not understand that conflict. The man in front of them killed their fathers.
One kid, in particular, a boy of around 7 to 8 years old, ran forward as he shouted, ''Give me back my father! Give me back my father, you monster!''
Wang Yi was already ready to unsheath her weapons, but a quick gentle halt gesture from Brian was enough to stop her in time. Brian signaled the guards who held the boy back to let him through, as he walked towards the crowd as well. The commotion of the people turned silent immediately as he drew one of the blades from his back. A mother tried to get past the guards as she shouted, ''Wait! Wait! He is just a boy! Please don't hurt him!''
The tears that scrolled down her face made an abrupt end, as the sudden fear completely switched to bewilderment. Their new lord, the man whom they heard so much about what they all believed was just propaganda, was now face-to-face with her child, a small sword in front of him, but not aimed towards either of them.
''Young man, do you know what this is?'' Brian asked as he held the sword tight.
''...A...sword...'' The boy muttered.
''I didn't hear you. Speak up.'' Brian commanded.
''That's a sword, dumbass!'' the boy shouted angrily. The mother who could do nothing but stare felt all hope plumber into the abyss. People have been executed for less, so why would this be any different?
To the shock of everyone on the plaza, Brian merely grinned. ''No, you are wrong. This is not a sword. This is a tool. A tool that can be used in different ways. In the right hands, it can protect the things that are important. In the wrong hands, it can take anything that is valuable.''
He pointed the tip of the sword to the ground as he added, ''Your father had a sword at his side when I took his life. A sword that could have taken mine, yet it was my sword that took his life. Does that mean that my hands are wrong? Does that mean I am a monster?''
''Yes!'' The boy almost immediately responded.
''Then allow me to ask you something else. Would that make him a monster if your father had killed me instead? Would the hands that loved you be the wrong one as well?''
The boy fell silent. ''A sword is a tool to protect, but for the enemy, it is a tool to kill them. If he had taken my life, your father would have been hated by a lot of people. He would have been a monster who had taken away something that was valuable to them. But he would have protected you,'' He sheathed his sword as he said, ''A sword is a choice. Do you dare to become a monster just to protect the ones you love, or do you fall victim to someone else's hand? Your father took the sword because he wanted to take that risk to protect you. I take the sword because I have a land to unite and a war to end.''
He signaled the guards in the front to let the worrying mother pass. The crying mother ran as quickly as she could to her son and took him in a tight hug. ''I understand some of you are angry at me. That is normal, and I will not punish you for it. However, know that I have no evil intent. Before you wish to avenge your loved ones, judge my actions with your own eyes. Further, if you are not content with my rule, know that there is no need for violence. Once the fighting has calmed down and the order has been restored, know that you have the right to decide the future of this town.''
''However, that will be for the future. Enjoy these provisions and eat until you are satisfied. Further, close these gates until I have returned. I will leave Master Cao Zhen and Master Zhang Jun here. If there is anything you need, ask them.''
The townspeople were perplexed. For what another lord would call the biggest insult to his title, Brian not only merely shrugged off but even allowed it. Their new lord understood their troubles and would not only promise them but actually give them what they needed. Tears strolled down people's faces as hunger was satiated to a degree none of them knew in a very long time.
By the time Brian and his bodyguards rode out towards Xu Chang, the majority of the townspeople would already wish for them to return safely.
''We are closing in on Xu Chang, Lord Brian!'' Huang Zhong reported as he rode alongside him at a ridiculously fast pace.
''Perfect. The moment we are there, relieve our allies and decimate the enemy. We will end this battle quickly.''
''Excellent! These old bones could use some action after so long!'' Huang Zhong grinned.
''Do not fool us, old man. That body might be old, but your mind is still young,'' Wang Yi commented. There was a tiny smile visible on her visage.
''Help... allies...I... will!'' Wei Yan roared.
With all the Mobilize actions activated, Brian could focus on the more essential tasks. He did not have to rely on stealth in this fight, but could finally go all out. That was precisely what he was about to do, for the difficulty multiplier was already marking the battle 5.9 times the normal difficulty.
When the gates of Xu Chang appeared in his vision, he pulled his Soul Crusher from his back, held it to his right, and prepared to wreak havoc with it. Shadow Runner must have felt his eagerness for battle because it increased its speed even further. Brian grinned. Let's do this, partner!
For a moment, he was not thinking about the bloodshed that was about to happen. Momentarily, he felt like the gamer he was supposed to be. The true monster on the field, who could turn every battlefield to his side.
Another OST began to play for his ears only to hear and as he rode through the gates of Xu Chang, the battlefield map came into his display. A lot of allies are in need of assistance. No time to waste.
Shadow Runner sprinted past several of Brian's soldiers, his rider striking several enemy soldiers down with a strike of his halberd. His soldiers shouted his name in glory as he ran past them and relieved them of their enemies. ''Push forward!'' They shouted as they followed their lord into battle. But they could not keep up with him.
As Brian continued his rampage from the southeast gate towards the southern plaza, a couple of soldiers could finally let out a sigh of relief as they fell on their butts, and tended to their wounds. Wang Yi rode towards them, jumped off her horse, grabbed a medicine bottle out of one of the bags on her horse, and gave it to the wounded soldiers. ''Please use this. It will get rid of the pain.''
''Thank you, my Lady,'' One of the soldiers responded gratefully, but tiredly. The liquid from the bottle burned, but it worked. It had disinfected the wound perfectly, making sure that once again, Hua Tan's medicine and knowledge had saved another life.
''That's better. Thank you. You are too kind,'' The soldier thanked before he shifted his eyes to the place his lord rode to. ''It is not that I am not happy with Lord Brian's help, but I had kind of hoped he would stop and make certain I was okay.''
''He does in his own way.'' Another voice commented as Wei Yan rode past them. It was the old man Huang Zhong who stood behind him. ''Do not mistake his choice in battle with disinterest in our lives. He fights on the frontlines so that others do not have to risk their lives on this battlefield, while he trusts us to take care of each other. Remember that, young one.''
''Yes, sir!'' The soldier replied as he saluted.
Huang Zhong shifted his attention to Wang Yi and said, ''Wei Yan will assist our lord. I suggest we move along the outer walls and take the southern base.''
''I follow your lead, master Huang Zhong.'' Wang Yi responded as she jumped on her horse, and followed the old man towards the south.
Meanwhile, on the southern plaza, just in front of the first inner gates of Xu Chang, a heavy dual was playing out. An ambush that had cornered Sun Tai and his division led by Jia Xu was now a battle for survival for one of Cao Pi's strategists. ''Ugh...This isn't turning out the way at hoped... Reinforcements would be nice right now...'' Jia Xu complained as he stood in front of the enemy commander.
A group of freshly recruited officers ran through the inner gate, ready to assist their strategist. Hm, there might be a little hope after all. If I can keep him occupied for long enou...?
*Fweet!* It was the simple sound of a whistle that disrupted his thoughts. A large horse ran towards him, and without a second thought, the enemy commander maneuvered on the running beast and made a straight beeline towards the reinforcements. ''Not so fast.'' Jia Xu said calmly as he threw his chain and sickle toward him. However, he had to immediately pull it back to block an incoming strike from another new officer.
''You...Attack...My...Friend?! I...Take...You...Down...!''
Feeling the tide was not in his favor, Jia Xu guided the voulge to the side and jumped away just in time for the follow-up strike. ''I always welcome facing a worthy opponent, but I think we may be rapidly approaching our limits.''
''You are right,'' A sudden voice commented. Jia Xu raised his sickle just quick enough to block the incoming blow from behind, but couldn't dodge the kick that followed. With tremendous force, he was sent back, rolling backward to stop his momentum before clutching his stomach as air returned to his lungs.
In a hurry, he checked where the reinforcements had been just a moment ago, only to see a group of unconscious soldiers lying on the ground. The enemy commander's halberd was painted in blood. ''I have no time for this.'' The commander said calmly as he did one step forward, and shot forward with unnatural speed.
Jia Xu tried to bring his guard up, but aside from the fact that he was more of a strategist than a fighter, his body had not recovered from the previous blow yet. ''Sleep,'' A soft whisper came as Jia Xu's head was grabbed and smashed into the stone plaza.
Brian let go of Jia Xu's face as he saw the health bar depleted and turned his eyes to the map. So many allies are in trouble... I need to get our morale up ASAP.
''Thank you for your help, my lord. I wouldn't know what would have happened if you weren't here in time,'' Sun Tai said thankfully.
''You would have retreated since it is too early for you to die, Master Sun Tai. Now, tend to the wounded, bring the prisoners to the main camp, and reinforce our allies.'' Brain ordered.
''Yes, sir!'' Sun Tai acknowledged before he turned around and shouted, ''You heard it, men! Tend to the wounded, tie the enemies up, and any who are able to fight, relieve our allies!''
Brian turned around, placed a hand on Wei Yan's shoulder, and whispered, ''Well done, master Wei Yan. You really helped me there.'' A grateful smile appeared on his subordinate's face. ''Link up with Lady Wang Yi and master Huang Zhong in the south and move up from there. That should relieve some pressure from our forces in the center.''
The gentle brute simply nodded before he jumped on his horse, and rode to where Wang Yi and Huang Zhong were. Brian let out a momentary sigh of relief, only to receive a message another officer was in trouble a second later. On my way, Lei Tong. Hold on a little longer. He thought as the first unnoticeable sweatdrops appeared on his forehead.
''Master Lei Tong? Are you alright?'' the doctor in charge at Brian's main camp asked concerned as he noticed all the wounds on the former Shu officer.
''I have seen better days...'' He answered tiredly as he took away his armor and showed his wounded arm to the medic.
''That is a nasty one. Bare with me, because this is going to hurt.'' The doctor concluded after a brief examination. He prepared a few instruments as Lei Tong just looked away.
That was until the flap of the tent opened up and a man in golden-green armor stepped in. ''Master Lei Tong, what are you doing here?! What happened? Why have you retreated?''
''Lord Brian's orders, sir. My group was about to be killed by Cao Zhi when our lord appeared and ordered us to retreat. We didn't want to abandon him, but he responded his rescue mission would be in vain if we all died to our wounds anyway.'' Before the golden warrior could retort with another question, Lei Tong added, ''Lady Yue Ying and Lady Shiangxiang were already on the move to assist our... Ah, fuck!'' he gritted his teeth as the wound was being cleaned.
Ma Chao looked concerned at the doctor, but the response was just a simple grin. ''Told you it was going to hurt. You will be alright, but you cannot fight for a while. Quan, stitch this wound and bandage it.'' The doctor turned to Ma Chao. ''Now, if there isn't anything more, leave or let yourself get treated. This is a treatment tent, not a tea party.''
Ma Chao stepped out of the tent in annoyance, but acceptance. It didn't really matter to him that much though, as another thought was already on his mind.
Though he was a veteran soldier and an experienced general, even Ma Chao felt the burden of several conservative battles weighing him down in this battle. The constant struggle for survival: It could tear both your mind and body incredibly fast. How do you cope with it, Lord Brian?
The sound of clashing iron echoed through the air as a halberd cut through several bodies, adding a few more to the thousands who had died today on the battlefield. The frontline was pushed to the inner sanctum of the palace, with only one plaza remaining between Brian and Cao Pi. But although the battle was going in his favor, Brian felt as if he was on the losing side of things.
His vision was blurry, his halberd felt heavy, and so now and then, he was coughing blood. But his health bar was still in the yellow, even if it was only barely.
Guo Jia proved to be a very wise strategist, and although Brian had defeated and captured Cao Pi's second strategist, he did not make it easy. A fire attack, arbalests, and plenty of ambushes made the northern part of Xu Chang a terrifying battlefield. The siege weapons were destroyed, but not without wounds and victims, and even now, his soldiers were trying to keep the fire under control.
Yuan Xi and Xun Yu, two students under Guo Jia proved they were excellent students as the castle weapons and various traps proved to be another thorn in Brian's eyes. Yue Ying's Juggernauts proved the best counter against those fire-spitting statues, but by the time he had defeated the two strategists, his shoulder plates were broken, and he had a few burn marks on his face and leg and several small wounds. Lastly, although it seemed small at first, a small wound Jia Xu left behind right under his arm hurt like hell, and the wound was poisoned as well. Thus, when the doors to the inner plaza opened, and the majority of Cao Pi's army showed, prepared and ready to the bone, Brian had not much of a choice.
His jaws clenched. Goosebumps rose on his arm and neck. Sounds from all around the plaza that normally shouldn't be possible to hear could be heard, and his eyes were more perspective than ever. Rage mode activated!
''Charge!'' Cao Zhi and Cheng Yu, the two leading officers in the plaza, commanded. ''We will claim victo...?!''
''Out of my way!'' Could be heard across the plaza before fifty soldiers flew away in a shockwave. A shock overcame Cao Pi's army before Brian's voice echoed through the air again. However, it was soon overshadowed by the screams of Cao Pi's army as one after another soldier flew away or fell to the ground. ''H...Hee is a monster?!''
''We don't stand a chance against that guy!''
''Get away from here!''
In a matter of seconds, the morale had skyrocketed in Brian's favor. The count in his HUD, which was already over a thousand, jumped with every strike with another five until he no longer paid any attention to it. With a cry of power, Brian swung his halberd one last time, sending all the bodies of the unconscious and the deceased away.
''Huf...pooh...huff...pooh...'' That was the only sound Brian could hear for a moment: The sound of his own breathing. It was harsh and irregular. No other sounds could be heard. It was as if the whole world had stopped.
It was at that moment Brian became aware of the sweatdrops that were strolling down his face. It was rare for Brian to sweat since his body was so well-trained in this world. He barely sweated, to the point he could count the number of times he had sweat in battle on one hand. The first time was against Sun Quan. The second time was against Zhao Yun and Xing Cai. The third time, he was facing Cao Cao. Every last of those battles was a hard one, making him work for his effort. But more importantly, the difficulty multiplier made it so that those battles were just within his margin.
Does that mean my limit is three duels? Shit... He concluded as he put his hand on the ground for support. His rage mode stopped, meaning his heightened senses stopped at the same time. He nearly dropped his halberd out of exhaustion.
''All forces! Storm the palace!'' Zhuge Liang commanded after a few seconds. Officers and soldiers in the plenty stormed the castle. But not all of them did.
''My lord...Are you alright?'' Shangxiang asked concerned. ''You look pale,'' she concluded as more officers appeared at his side.
''Get a medic here as quickly as possible!'' Yue Ying ordered, looking just as concerned, Zhuge Liang standing beside her, looking just as concerned.
''That can wait,'' Brian responded in a hurry as he pushed himself up again, the sweatdrops clearly displayed on his face. ''Let's clear this battle quickly and assist Master Sima Yi at Guan Du.''
''My lord...'' Shangxiang looked worried.
''Very well, lord Brian. We will not disappoint you,'' Wang Yi confirmed confidently before she ran straight toward the throne room.
By the time Brian was at the throne room, Cao Pi and Zhen Ji were already on their knees. The tips of Brian's soldiers' spears were pushed on top of their shoulders, pushing them down in submission completely.
Brian stared a moment at Cao Cao's son before he shifted his attention to his men. ''Take them away,'' he ordered. ''I will judge over them later. Treat them as any other prisoner.''
Zhen Ji glared at him with eyes of disgust, but her gaze would quickly change once she discovered the true meaning behind those words. It didn't matter now though, as Brian had other problems to focus on.
''Master Zhuge Liang.'' He called the Sleeping Dragon to his side as he retreated to his main camp.
''Yes, Lord Brian?''
''Send two messengers toward Xu Tian and Chang She. Those towns and her people are under our protection now.''
''Understood. I will see to it immediately.''
''Lady Yue Ying.''
''Yes, my lord?'' The long-haired officer asked, uncertainty still in her voice due to worries for her lord.
''Prepare the transportation of the Juggernaut unit. We need them as quickly as possible in Guan Du.''
''Understood. Leave it to me,'' The redhead replied before she excused herself and moved to her subordinates.
''My lord, please take a rest. Master Sima Yi should be able to handle the defense of Guan Du just fine,'' Fa Zhang suggested worriedly.
''I will rest when Lu Bu is defeated. Have all soldiers report to their superiors. If they can continue to fight, let them towards Guan Du. If they are too tired to fight, let them rest here and have them rebuild the city.''
''Yes, sir.'' Fa Zhang responded before he too moved to his subordinates.
A feast would normally be started to celebrate the victory over Cao Pi, but due to the fighting forces in the north, that feast had to wait. Brian's forces packed immediately, not even giving Brian time to make his enemies his allies. Time is of the essence in war, especially according to past generals such as Napolean and Sun Tzu.
That was what Brian thought, but just as he was checking the last preparations for his quick departure to Guan Du, a familiar face ran through Xu Chang's gates. A figure faster than any horse, whose legend was that he could keep up with the fastest and strongest creature of China, Red Hair. It was Zhou Cang.
The former Shu officer entered through the gates of the main camp, ran towards his lord, and reported, ''Lord Brian, I bring news from Master Sima Yi.'' while extending a coiled scroll towards his lord.
Brian looked puzzled as he took the scroll and opened it. That was until he read the message and all the worries he had for the past two weeks vanished like snow in the heating sun.
This is a message from Lord Lu Bu to Brian Miller. This is an ultimatum given to you by my benevolent lord. March your army towards Xia Pi within one week and bring the best warriors you have to offer to test my lord in battle. Fail to do so, and Lord Lu Bu will show no mercy towards your people and your land. Not even your precious city in the west would be safe for his might. Be wise and decide quickly. Lord Lu Bu's strategist Cheng Dong.
Not even a surrender? Just ''Provide me with a decent challenge?'' Well, can't say it is not a welcome surprise. Knowing he had some time left before the next battle, Brian finally let out a chuckle as he fell backward on his butt in exhaustion. ''Lord Brian!'' Zhou Cang asked worriedly.
''Don't worry. I am fine.'' He responded before he turned towards four of the guards who were just as worried about the sudden action and commanded, ''Bring me Master Zhuge Liang, Lady Yue Ying, and Master Fa Zheng. Further, tell everyone to rest for the night. We will take a small break before we move out.''
''Yes, sir!'' The soldiers replied in relief as they could deduce the scroll held no terrible news.
That evening, another feast started and the sounds of relieved sighs were overruled by the celebrations of alcohol and food. Soldiers and officers alike showed their exhaustion and gratitude as they survived yet another day. Wang Yi sat alone, her thoughts slightly absent as she listened to a closer soldier's story. ''Excuse me. Do you mind if I sit alongside you?'' A young lady's voice asked, disturbing her line of thought.
It was the First Lady, although the former tiger princess of Wu would quickly deny that title. ''Of course, lady Shangxiang. I doubt I am convivial company though.''
''Allow me the judge of that,'' Shangxiang commented as she sat beside her. After a quick cheer with their bottles and a big gulp from their beverage, Shangxiang started. ''I hope my darling didn't push you too harshly the past days. I know how much lord Brian can push his bodyguards.''
''I can understand your concern, but it has been more than doable the past few days. The battles haven't been as quick pacing as this one though, and by the time we were at the inner gates, most of the danger in the castle was neutralized.''
Shangxiang showed a wry smile as she commented, ''Yeesh, that was a stiff response.'' She grinned as she leaned closer and asked, ''Don't tell me that's everything that you have to say about my darling after five days?''
Wang Yi slightly blushed as she answered, ''It was an interesting collaboration the past couple of days. As expected, he is completely different from what I had anticipated out of a ruler. Although he doesn't mind getting his hands dirty, his rank nor his power goes over his head, and he is surprisingly realistic. I have yet to see how true his words are, but I do not regret standing by his side, for now.''
Shangxiang looked unsurprised by the answer but wasn't entirely happy with it as well for one simple reason: it was yet again such a stiff answer. The music that was played finally reached the tigress's ear, and a sudden idea popped up.
''Time to loosen up a bit. Come join me!'' she suggested cheerfully as she pulled Wang Yi along.
''Ww..Wait! What are you doing?'' Wang Yi asked in shock as she was pulled along.
''Getting you to loosen up a bit! You are so stiff! That can't be healthy.'' Shangxiang explained as her hips moved to the rhythm of the music. It was just a simple movement of a young woman, but it was enough for the soldiers to know their lord was a lucky man. Brian himself would probably join if he did not have a more important task to uphold.
In the late evening, as the sun had fallen and the moon was high up in the sky, Brian opened the door to the prison grounds. Although it was filled with guards from all sides, the soldiers of Cao Pi's defeated army acted surprisingly disciplined.
Brian walked up to Cao Cao's son alongside Wei Yan and Huang Zhong and sat down in front of him.
''Where is my wife?'' Cao Pi demanded immediately, his eyes staring at Brian with a not-so-silent fury.
''She is currently in a different prison specially made for women. The guards who guard her are trained to treat both male and female prisoners with respect,'' Brian answered calmly back. The fury in Cao Pi's eyes quickly subsided, but there was a moment of confusion in his eyes. ''I am a married man with a loving wife myself. If I would stand in your shoes, I would hope you treated my wife with the same respect.''
''Hmm...An admirable quality. You know, you actually possess a modicum of decency.''
''Flattery will get you nowhere with me,'' Brian replied. ''A man with so many strategists should know better.''
''And yet, our combined might failed to take you down,'' Jia Xu retorted as rubbed the bandage on his head. ''To think brute force was all...''
''Calm yourself, Jia Xu. There is no reason to sulk over a loss such as this. We fought with everything within our capabilities, and we got bested,'' A blond officer interrupted. Despite those words, there was a fire burning in Guo Jia's eyes and the smile on his face did not lack confidence.
Brian noticed that burning confidence, and couldn't help but feel intimated by it. Is he aware of what I am about to ask? he wondered. ''You know why I am here.'' Brian eventually spoke out loud, both Jia Xu and Cao Pi looking bewildered, well Guo Jia looked intrigued.
''As expected, you are a sharp man. However, the request you are about to make is not for me to answer first,'' Guo Jia answered.
''I disagree. The moment you lost, your ranking in your army no longer mattered to me. Although your soldiers still would be loyal to their lord as expected, you all have the choice,'' Brian responded before he shifted his eyes to Cao Cao's son. ''Cao Pi. As the former lord of those brave soldiers behind you, I will give you the choice first. Would you join my side to end the conflict in this land once and for all?''
''Or?'' Cao Pi asked.
''You will live your life as prisoners from now on until you have served your sentence. Considering you are prisoners of war, that sentence falls on me to decide,'' Brian filled in.''At least, until we have finally established a judicial system.''
''So we don't have much of a choice,'' Jia Xu complained grumpily. ''You could tell us at least what you are trying to accomplish before we decide.''
Brian sighed and shifted his attention to the three officers sitting before him. ''Cao Pi. Jia Xu. Guo Jia. What are your ambitions?''
''Ambition? I would just like to enjoy myself.'' The blond strategist answered. An ambitionless genius... of course...
''If you must know, I just like to test my knowledge and craftiness against others, whatever that is on the battlefield or in moments of peace,'' Jia Xu answered. A challenge seeker... curious.
''I have ambitions to bring this land peace under my rule. Only then I can enjoy a life of peace with my wife,'' Cao Pi answered. A family man...who knew he was so devoted.
Shifting his eyes to Cao Pi, he asked, ''Why do you seek to rule this land? If the land is in peace and you can enjoy your life without ruling this land, are you still required to rule it?''
''What are you implying?''
''That your ambition does not fit mine,'' Brian answered before he explained. ''I have been tasked by the Emperor to return peace to how it once was. On top of that, I like to make this a land where the average person does not have to worry about surviving for another day. Knowledge, cuisine, work, money, hygiene, medical care. I do not care in what area you speak about, by the end of my reign as prime minister, these will be developed to a leading degree other countries can only look up to. Your reign does not fit that task.''
''Are you aware that the Emperor has created this chaos just because he was weak and could not handle the responsibility of his task alone? Why would he be allowed to rule over us again?'' Cao Pi countered.
Brian smirked. ''If the quota is that we can't ever make mistakes, you wouldn't even have the choice I am giving you now. Your head would have rolled over the floor by now, together with the heads of your soldiers and strategists who have failed to defend you. If we punish people for making mistakes, then how are they ever supposed to learn from them? And let's face it; the emperor is just a fool like you and me.''
Sudden laughter filled the air as Jia Xu couldn't believe what he was hearing. ''Ahaha, what a wonderful surprise! A man who is daring and willing to insult a supreme being such as the Emperor or my lord. Considered me interested to walk by your side.''
''Your ambition is certainly unrealistic, but I do like to see if you can pull it off. Considered me in,'' Guo Jia answered with a smile.
''Allow me to see my wife. After that, you will get my answer,'' Cao Pi answered.
Naturally, as Zhen Ji was indeed treated with respect, and without any wounds - to her surprise for her guards were all males - Cao Pi too joined Brian's side.
Now, there was one last obstacle left before Brian had united the north of China.
It took the reconnaissance unit three days to return to Guan Du. The resources and heavily equipped units, like the engineer and juggernaut units, were still only halfway but Brian did not have the luxury to wait for them. Most of his strategists and officers had returned as well, meaning another meeting had taken place for the final conquest of their campaign.
The mightiest officers were eager to test their might against the beast of chaos. They had already volunteered to join the campaign before a decision was even made.
The soldiers were tired, but seeing their mighty generals so hyped up and joining the battle, their morale was still high. It helped discipline was a word frequently used in the ranks, and provisions were in plenty thanks to the local farmers. Brian paid for them with his own money, resulting in not only respect from his men but also great appreciation from the farmers.
When the sun was down and the tasks of the day had settled, those were the last things he had to worry about. To be precise, he was not allowed to worry about anything as he lay blindfolded on his stomach, Lianshi sitting on his back as she pressured the trigger points in his shoulders black and blue.
''I see. By massaging these pressure points, you increase the blood flow to the muscle and allow it to restore.'' Shangxiang responded out loud to her guardian's teachings.
''Precisely. How it works, I have yet to learn. That said, as long as it helps us recover faster and relax easier, I gladly do my part,'' Lianshi responded. Her heart grew warm as she heard her patiƫnt soft moan, realizing helping him relax was exactly what she did. Although she didn't like to admit it, those small moans from her lover had an additional effect.
Lianshi was taught how to act for the people she served. How to behave as a true servant and lady. But ever since walking beside her lord as his lover, she experienced freedom she wasn't used to. It frightened her, yet it was thrilling as well. The fact she was getting aroused by the moans of her lover was not how a true lady should act, but she could not care about it. She briefly wondered how she had changed so much, but another moan and those thoughts were quickly answered. He was just that special.
The fact that her best friend wanted to learn massage techniques just to be a help to her lover instead of a burden already proved how special he was. Especially since her lady didn't like work such as this. She preferred to be on the receiving end of those actions, but there had been no doubt in her request when she asked Lianshi to teach her. As expected, Shangxiang was just as committed to her lord as she was.
Although the older woman was teaching the younger at the moment in all seriousness, Brian's mind had not registered it at all. The upcoming battle against the beast of chaos. The past battles where more blood was spilled than he liked to admit. At this current moment, his mind and body had surrendered to the soft touch of Lianshi. A less experienced touch could be felt soon after but after a few minutes, that one too felt pleasant.
Brian had no idea how much time had passed. It could have been minutes. It could have been hours. The only thing he noticed was the shifts in touch, easily picking out whenever it was his Shangxiang or Lianshi caressing his muscles.
The thought that kept roaming his mind was why he had to be blindfolded. He could have simply closed his eyes to enjoy their touch, but they both immediately refused that choice. Why was being blindfolded that important? Another shift happened. Brian could feel it. Shangxiang stopped caressing his muscles and Lianshi would take over.
''!''
A firm grip suddenly clenched around his shoulder muscle and kneaded it firmly. ''!'' There was no doubt in the touch, as it was experienced, but hard. Nevertheless, Brian knew if you wanted to heal a muscle, a firm kneading was needed. So, despite triggering a different sensation than the other two touches had been, he could handle it. That said, why was this touch suddenly so different? It felt as if somebody else was suddenly performing the massage.
''Can you please turn around, my lord? Then we can massage your front muscles as well,'' Shangxiang whispered with a tender voice.
Brian did as asked as he turned around, his confused eyes hidden behind the soft silk band on his eyes. Front muscles? What are they even planning to...?!
His mind stopped abruptly. There was no longer one hand that massaged his body. Almost immediately after turning around, he felt several hands, some more experienced than others, caressing his body. Out of reflex, he rose to sit and take off his blindfold, but a tender touch stopped him. ''Please and try to relax, my lord,'' Lianshi whispered. Just as she said so, a hand firmly grabbed the inner section of his upper leg, causing an uneasy tickling sensation. The person who had touched him seemed to realize their mistake as the grip lessened and slowly became pleasant.
That said, despite the multiple touches being pleasant, relaxing was the last thing Brian could do. His mind was overstimulated, especially since he couldn't see anything and had to solely rely on his senses. Of course, this also meant another part of his body suddenly arose. Another hand picked up his head and lay it down on a soft and squeezy underground. ''Relax, my love. Let us take care of your troubles,'' Shangxiang whispered from above, Brian deducing it was her legs he was resting his head upon. ''Your struggles. Your worries. Your hardships. Let us take care of them for you. Just for tonight,'' she added as she kissed his forehead.
''Oke,'' Brian eventually answered as he finally relaxed, entrusting the rest to his wife and what he assumed were his lovers. His response was explicit confirmation as the hands that had touched him so far increased in pace and strength. Sometimes, he felt the occasional kiss on his skin, another moment he felt a boob passing his body. Sweatdrops began to form on his body as his breathing became ragged, and he began to feel hot. The question was how much more would he have to bear.
''!''
There was the answer. A firm hand, followed by a hot breeze and a warm, wet, and sticky embrace. Another warm wet touch followed soon after on his clockwork. Firm, but gentle. Brian's body once again became overstimulated. Xing Cai...Please calm down...
A hand caressed his face before it guided him to the side, where a tender touch assaulted his lips. A tongue asked permission before it claimed what was hers. Yue Ying... Brian realized as he kissed her back.
Another sweet sensation assaulted the side of his neck, and Brian didn't have to guess who it was. Lianshi was his only lover who loved to kiss his neck after he used to do it so many times just to tease her. Goosebumps rose from his arms and neck. Things heated up. Brian began to explore Yue Ying's, Lianshi's, and his wife's bodies while both Xing Cai and assumingly Zhang Chunhae continued to make his lower body sensitive.
''!'' An experienced grip held his member as somebody stroked and licked it expertly. So it is you, Zhang Chunhae... Damm, slow down already...!
''How is it, my lord? Are you relaxed and warmed up, or do we need to continue?'' Shangxiang asked cheekily. You...are enjoying this way too much...
*Pop!* ''If this is all we need to do to warm up our good lord, you are going to be in a lot of trouble tonight. Try to challenge us a bit, darling,'' Zhang Chunhae spoke eagerly. ''Show us your unrestrained love,'' she added before she dove onto his cock again.
''Love us. Ravage us. We are completely yours,'' Yue Ying whispered seductively as her hand moved to the blindfold.
Light entered Brian's eyes again. Slowly, while still feeling his body teased to the absolute limit by his lovers, he saw their expressions. His junior skyrocketed into action when he saw those love-pleading gazes.
Zhang Chunhae sucked his dick like no tomorrow with her hair dangling in front of her. He swept some of her hair away to enjoy the show. The experienced woman noticed it and decided to put up an even better performance. *Pop!* Echoed in the tent as she popped his dick out of her mouth, a bit of saliva dripping from her mouth. ''Like what you see, darling? You are a naughty boy, aren't you.'' She seductively crawled over him, her breasts hugging his dick before they massaged his abs. ''What are you waiting for, darling?'' She crawled to his right ear and whispered, ''Fuck us senseless.''
In a quick turnaround, he swept Zhang Chunhae on her back, surprising both her and his other lovers. With her hair width spread on the ground and her hands pinned to the ground, Brian whispered, barely holding back his beastly urges, ''You keep underestimating me. How often do I have to teach you not to underestimate me.''
''I guess I am a difficult student,'' She grinned as she locked his body with her legs. ''You have to ram it into ...Ah!''
Before she could finish her sentence, Yue Ying had guided Brian's pillar of love to her entrance and pushed him in. Feeling the warm and tight embrace, Brian wasted little time putting his money where his mouth was. ''Ah! Ah! Yes! Fuck me!''
Zhang Chunhae's cries of ecstasy together with the sound of their fucking triggered his lovers' primal urges. ''My lord...Kiss me...'' Xing Cai pleaded. Not that she waited for a reply as she assaulted his lips, and her tongue sought for his.
''My lord...Me too...Ah!'' Yue Ying begged as she guided his hand to her lower region, and heavily breathed in his neck to his touch. Her private area was warm and drenched.
''Not so fast, Lady Yueying,'' Lianshi whispered as her finger replaced Brian's finger. ''You will have to wait for your turn. Don't worry though. I will make sure you will not get bored.'' She whispered seductively as her hands continued to tease the redhead.
''Don't think to cut the line, Xing,'' Shangxiang whispered as she pulled Xing Cai back and teased her sensitive parts. The young girl let out a loud moan as she shivered, further stimulating Brian's primal urges. ''You will get your turn. Just. be. a. little. more. patient.'' she purred, kissing Xing Cai's neck to tease even more.
The sight of his wife teasing his concubine was very arousing. Yet, despite wanting to keep staring, his face was guided to the woman beneath him. ''Do you think you have the time to watch them, darling? If you are not careful, I will...Ah!'' Zhang Chunhae moaned as Brian bit her nipple.
His thoughts ran rampant. He couldn't think. Zhang Chunhae embraced his junior while she held his back tight to her with his hands. Her eyes were closed as her ragged breathing and loud moans got louder and louder.
Just when Brian thought he was at his limit, his hips almost cramping from his thrusting, the embrace around his junior tightened ''No...slow...do..'' Zhang Chunhae begged before she threw her head back and climaxed. As the expression of his over-pleasured concubine changed from a euphoric expression to momentarily pass-out - Something that was common for his concubine to do in these moments - A seducing voice whispered in his ear, ''Well done, my love. Now, are you ready for round 2?'' She purred seductively.
He did not remember much after that.
The battle of Xia Pi.
A battle that is well-known throughout ancient history. A castle formerly owned by Liu Bei was captured in his absence by Lu Bu, and the last collaboration between Cao Cao and Liu Bei was finally in the fight to end the beast of chaos.
Normally, Brain would actively participate in the war council of his strategists and generals. However, at this moment, he seemed rather worried as he stared at the map in his HUD. The former army of Yuan Shao had joined with Lu Bu, meaning most of the map was colored red. The armies of Dong Zhou, Yuan Shao, and Yuan Shu held the front guard of the castle, while Chen Gong and Lu Lingqi guarded the sides of the castle. Lu Bu and Diao Chan were in the inner circle of the castle, but Brian assumed it would not take long for the beast of chaos to enter the battle.
As a battle plan was formed, and the war council was dismissed, Fa Zhang stepped towards his lord and asked, ''My lord, is there something wrong?''
''Why would you think so?'' Brian asked curious.
''You seemed distracted. Guo Jia and Jia Xu worried you were not ready for this fight.'' the slick-back strategist answered.
''And what do you think?'' Brian asked again.
''I think you weren't actively participating because you know your purpose on this battlefield.'' Fa Zhang responded.
As expected of my best strategist. Brian thought. ''I assume when you know that, you know what your purpose in this fight will be.''
''I do. Leave it to us, my lord.'' Fa Zhang answered as he bowed, and walked toward his tent to rest for the night.
Azeil stood at Brain's side, staring at the castle that peaked over the hills in the distance. Ranger had nestled itself on a tree nearby and was looking just as cautiously towards the castle. ''Ranger, Azeil, do not hold back tomorrow. This is the battle where we make the difference.''
~The next day, early morning.~
The sound of soldiers charging; the sound of the wind passing, and the war cries of a thousand soldiers. Brian was amidst that all as he rode forward towards Xia Piao castle.
While Brian charged straight in to cause a distraction on the front, his strategists moved into their positions. ''Master Li Dian, master Yue Jin, please execute the plan!'' Guo Jia commanded.
''Yes, Sir! I'm going to give it my all!'' Li Dian roared ecstatically.
''Very well. Then let's us go!'' Yue Jin shouted as the duo charged into the northwestern base. As Li Dian, Yue Jin, and Guo Jia started their distraction in the west, the forward fortresses of Lu Bu's forces were already in a state of panic.
''It is the enemy commander!''
''How he is this strong?!''
''Send reinforcements!'' A soldier shouted as a crowd of many were sent flying.
The chaos in the middle caused several hidden soldiers and generals, including Dong Zhou, Wei Xu, and Zang Ba to appear and reinforce the middle. Thus, the third group of Fa Zhang and Jia Xu could move from the east to the floodgates undetected.
''Lord Brian is quite the warrior, isn't he? I had doubts, but this distraction is more than enough for our plan to succeed.'' Jia Xu commented.
''Do not think it is going to be easy. Lu Bu has a strategist as well, and I am certain he is not letting us do as we wish so freely.'' Fa Zhang responded. ''Also, if Lu Bu decides to show up, our distraction might be in trouble.''
Everything seemed to go smoothly. The fights west and the front of Xia Pi Castle were in complete disarray for Lu Bu's forces and the sabotage unit was moving according to the strategy of flood attack. Everything went too smoothly.
In Brian's HUD, three dots moved extremely fast to the west, front, and east accordingly. Since Brian was still fighting Wei Xu, he could not see who it was. Only when it was too late to respond, did he learn who it was.
The OST that had gifted him his music since he arrived in this world abruptly stopped, and changed to a high-paced theme; one he was well familiar with. As he stared at his front, he saw the reason for this sudden change.
A red horse, at least one-and-half times bigger than his own, with so many muscles it was almost a demon. A rider in black armor on top of the great beast, wielding a halberd similar to the one Brain had in his hand. Cold sweat slid down Brain's back, and his skin hair rose like a cat in defense. Every fiber of his body shouted at him to get away immediately.
''Lord Lu Bu has arrived!''
''Thank god! Lord Lu Bu is here!''
Azeil growled, Ranger let out a cry, and even Shadow Runner let out a fearful shriek. Lu Bu jumped from his horse, picked his halberd from the back, and spoke. ''It looks like there is someone worthy of my time.'' Before he shouted, ''I am Lu Bu! Cower in fear before my might!''
In the west, a single girl jumped from the castle walls, slammed both her crossed pikes into a captain's chest, tore him apart, and roared, ''I am the daughter of Lu Bu! Prepare to die!''
In the east, just beneath the third fortress, a rain of arrows stopped Fa Zhang and Jia Xu's movements. A sinister man stood on top of one of the lookout points as he shouted, ''I hope you do not think that you caught me by surprise? Your tactics are pedantic at best."
Lu Bu forces morale raised drastically!
Author notes:
Yes, you saw it correctly. Finally an update. It has been a while. My real life required more attention than I had expected and took me out of the running for all this time.
We are finally facing the beast of chaos. This is the fight of the fights. Let's hope the next update will not take me 2 years (or more.) to complete.
That was it for chapter 15 and I hope to see you all in the next one! Beyor out!~
