Godzilla marched through the city with the focus and fury of a predator on the hunt. The mighty machine towered over the city, like himself, but was astoundingly small in comparison. Even with its temple structure on top, it was half his size. The other Titans were no better, a fraction of the Imperator's size, and trying to take him down. He turned his head, unleashing another fusillade of nuclear death upon them. The Void Shields of larger Titans could resist him, but these Scout and Ravager Titans were little more then glorified military vehicles that he had dealt with since he became an adult. With a sweep of his beam, 3 of the Scouts and 1 of the Ravagers had been destroyed in almost an instant.
Durvasa meanwhile, unloaded as many weapons as it could into the beast. From the top of the machine's carapace, numerous missiles fired, screaming through the air and striking into Godzilla's hide. Smoke rose and ash filled the air, as the Volcano shot struck as well, numerous Gatling blast shells striking into him again and again. For a moment, the smoke and fire obscured everything, making it impossible to tell if Godzilla had survived. Then, a second later, he lunged out of the smoke and fire, dissipating it all and charging forward with renewed speed. The streets below him were shattered and pulverized, the earth shaking with even greater intensity as he charged like a bull at the Imperator.
A Ravager in the path of his charge was tossed aside, smashing through several buildings, only saved from critical damage by their Void Shields. Durvasa stopped, ammo reloading and guns cooling, as Godzilla's wounds, burn marks and scars, healed and sealed themselves closed, as if they hadn't even happened, before slamming into the smaller machine. He hocked his claws into its shoulders, even as Carapace weapons, plasma and laser rounds striking into his hide, opened up. Godzilla cared little pushing the machine further and further away, the streets and sidewalks scraped and shattered beneath the weight of the two enormous beings, the architecture and construction of the 42nd Millennium hardly a match for the sheer weight and power of a creature born of the Atomic Age.
After pushing the machine back several blocks, hardly anything to a being of his size and strength, Godzilla released his grip on the being's shoulders, and began wailing on him, swinging a hook punch from the right, and hitting the Titan in the face, before swinging his claw and striking at the mid section, sparks flying and metal was shredded in an instant. The Titan stumbled back, Godzilla not giving it time to recover, as he swung his hardened skull forward, slamming right into the Titan's own armored face and cracking the armor as if it were glass. Durvasa stumbled back, the pilot within too stunned to continue, before Godzilla swung an upper cut, and slammed it into the center of the Titan's chest.
The Titan stumbled back once more, struggling to maintain its footing in the face of such an assault. Every hit felt like the strike of a Quake canon. The creature loomed over Durvasa like a mountain, glaring down at them like a vengeful God. Durvasa began to power up the Volcano Gun again, before Godzilla snarled in disgust, and brought his leg up, slamming the bottom of his foot into the chest of the Titan and sending it toppling across the city. Durvasa's pilot's bloodshot eyes widened in horror, struggling as the Titan smashed through city block after city block, the towering hab blocks crumbling in the wake of such an assault.
Godzilla drew up, snarling in barely contained anger at the Metal beast of Khorne before, fins flashing as he drew in his breath, energy building up in the pit of his chest. Durvasa aimed the Volcano gun at the beast, desperately charging energy to launch a counter attack, before several more missiles fired off, and struck Godzilla, the mix of explosive content and Warp-infused Hellfire sending him toppling backwards with a roar of surprise. The Kaiju hit the ground with enough force to throw the smaller tanks into the air for a moment, as Tzeentch's chosen Titan marched into battle. The monolithic machine was a deep, sea blue, lined with gold along the edges of its armor. Golden eyes adorned the knee and chest armor, while its face was shaped into Eagle's beak. The temple atop it was adorned with a central structure bearing a long spire in the center, with Tzeentch's mark. 4 smaller spires rose up alongside, all of them hard edged and segmented, coming to the top with the Eight pointed star of Chaos. Both arms bore the Plasma Annihilator, the weapons glowing blue as they charged up, before unleashing their fury. Bolt after destructive bolt of glowing red Plasma struck the downed Kaiju, hitting with strength that would've vaporized lesser Titans and Tyranid Bio-morphs, but only producing a pained roar of anger from Godzilla.
The other Titans of Tzeentch, their armor blue and gold, faces shaped like monstrous birds of prey, and their designs bearing many small eyes on the chest, shoulders and knees, marched alongside their leader, unleashing a salvo of their own gatling and missile attacks, pounded into Godzilla's chest and body without mercy. The Corrupted Imperator, however, knew it would not be enough. The pilot within was in an even worse state then Sybil, a mass of meat and wires in the center of the Titan's cockpit, random pieces and limbs sprouting from it, merged with wires and machinery within the Titan itself.
"Keep the fire concentrated on Godzilla, and do not relent," The Imperator ordered. "The moment we cease, is the moment he can rise again."
The other Titans did so, alternating fire so they could maintain a constant barrage, as the Imperator, designated Magnifica Loci, waited for his twin Plasma weapons to cool off, as he sent alerts to the other two Titan forces.
"Zero in on my position. Godzilla has been located. Good hunting, and may your Patron God award whoever strikes the killing blow." The pilot stated.
Mallon's own pilot laughed, a wheezing, guttural sound, punctuated with the fleshy sounds of squirming maggots and shifting meat. "How delightful for one of Tzeentch's own to be such a team player."
"If the beast dies, it dies. So long as it isn't hunting the Dark Gods' servants anymore." Magnifica Locus replied.
Durvasa rose slowly, ground shuddering and shaking from the sheer weight of the Titan's mighty, towering legs. The ground crumbled and shook as the Titan fully righted itself, the pilot within releasing a raspy, annoyed breath, the claw marks and burn from the Kaiju King's tender mercies. She snarled to herself, before focusing her auspex arrays and targeting systems, before firing a barrage of missiles at the beast as well.
"I hope that creature burns." She snarled.
Magnifica Loci would've rolled his eyes if he still had them, before speaking again. "You choose to pursue the Primarch and Imperial forces."
"More skulls, more blood." She replied simply.
"And your forces were the ones to supply it." He lectured, before the roar of engines caught their attention.
Their sensors read-outs to the right showed a massive squadron of Imperial fighters swooping down upon them. Lascanons and Autocanons roared to life, striking both Titans, burning into armor, or striking deep into it. Of course, Magnifica Loci's void shields absorbed every attack, before carapace-mounted weaponry activated and fired, filling the air before them with counterfire. Several Thunderbolts and Lightning Fighters fell out of the sky at frightening speed, exploding in fireballs and smashing into the ground, lightning the streets below aflame with the wreckage of Imperial fighters.
As the Fighter wings continued their assault, several of the Marauder Bombers came in after, the other fighters having been a screen for them. As they flew in, the remaining artillery and tanks had moved into position to launch their attacks, Las blasts, tank shells and Vanquisher rounds hitting the Tzeentch Titan repeatedly, shields flashing. Magnifica Loci sighed in annoyance, as another tank round struck the armor of Durvasa, the pilot within growling like a wounded animal.
The Marauders opened up, and fired their guided missiles right at the targets, several smashing into Magnifica's Loci's shields, the others hitting the structures and armor of Durvassa, over and over.
"Why am I the one they target?!" She snarled.
"You foolishly launched an attack on your own, then tried to fight the Monster King on your own," Magnifica Loci responded in annoyance. "As foolish as a mortal trying to fist fight an Astartes."
A blast of blue surged from Godzilla's prone form again, both Titan pilots focusing, as several bands of light shot out from his body, before a surge of blue energy fired off from him, and struck into the Titans nearest, sending him them toppling and flying back. Magnifica Loci was slightly surprised for a moment, before Godzilla jumped several feet into the air, far more agile then he though possible for a beast, Godzilla slamming into the ground and charging at them, roaring another battle cry at the two. Both opened fire, Plasma and Las rounds fired, before Godzilla's fins sparked and flared with energy, flashing like suns across his back.
Durvasa lumbered two steps back, trying to position herself as best she could away from the oncoming tide of claws, muscle and thermonuclear death, as the Imperial Fighters flew past, delivering what payload was left, and flying past them, as Godzilla unleashed another blast from his jaws striking into Magnifica Loci's Void Shields. They held, even as the conscious within groaned form the intense assault. Such a powerful blast. It was almost in excess of the power even Plasma Annihilators. Such heat and energy shouldn't have been possible. And yet it was matching them for power. The beast then turned its beam upon the Durvasa Titan, striking the chest and left arm, and vaporizing the limb. The explosion sent the Titan back two steps, Durvasa screaming in rage, as Magnifica Loci overcharged both Plasma Annihilators, and fired.
The full force of the twin Plasma blasts sent Godzilla flying, burning red plasma burning across his chest and shoulders. He slammed through the buildings, as the two sent a barrage of missiles once more at the beast. Every explosion buckled him slightly, only resulting in a rage-filled glare from the towering giant. Even as molten plasma burned across his body, the creature simply sank his claws into the nearest building and righted himself, snarling with rage. He threw himself back up on his feet again, and roared, preparing for another attack.

The Imperials could only watch, doing everything they could to assault the two Titans now that Godzilla had thrown enough of his weight and power into attacking them. With Magnifica Loci still having most of its Void Shield generators active, the only target seemed to be Durvasa. Guilliman watched, shoulders tensed, eyes completely focused on the host of Battle Titans and their skirmish with Godzilla. He was still utterly taken aback by the gigantic beast. It towered over the largest Titans that the Imperium or Chaos could construct, nearly twice their height, and taking every blow and weapon attack, tools used to level entire armies and Hive Cities, only staggering and enraging the beast further. Whatever it was, it clearly had some vendetta against Chaos, but outside of that, The Primarch was at a complete loss for words.
No ecological or fauna surveys reported anything like it, none of the local Tvola officials, military analysts or soldiers knew what it was, and were just as shocked and horrified as the Imperial Guard troops at the sight of it. Despite everything, he had ordered the assault on Chaos to continue. The traitors had to be brought to heel, and broken here and now. Whatever weapons he had, he would use to attack them.
"Are we really doing this?" Holden asked over the noise of battle.
"Are the great Black Templars doubting our advance?" Cato replied with a mocking tone. "Are you not the Heirs of Sigismund's wrath?"
"Careful with your words, Captain," Holden remarked with a weary glance at the other Marine leader. "I don't doubt our advance, I question its need."
Roboute turned his head slightly to the Marshall, giving him a questioning look, before he continued. "The main thrust of our armored spearpoint has been destroyed, and, we lack any real fire power to put a dent in those Void Shields."
As he spoke, Godzilla got in close, swinging both arms down onto the Void Shield bubble, energy flashing as his fists struck into the shield, before striking again and again, hook and jab punches into the shield, trying to break through it with pure brute force. Magnifica Loci stamped a foot down, before focusing, and a gout of Blue-red Warp Fire bursting from the Titan's beak-like mouth. Godzilla roared in surprise, the flesh turning a scorched red, before his fins flash, and a pulse of energy burst from his body, his entire frame flashing blue as the Nuclear pulse shattered the shield, and sent both Imperators falling to the ground, as well as destroying several of the Feral and Ravager Titans near him.
"That's another thing," Holden remarked. "It seems to have a handle on things. Perhaps just letting it murder Chaos would be a fine idea."
The ground shook again, as Godzilla jumped on top of the Tzeentchian Titan, swinging his fists down, sparks flying from every hit to its face and armor, swinging with all his might into the Daemonic Titan's body. Then, with a roar of contempt, swung his left hand into the Titan's face, then began to pull back, tearing the metal from the Titan's head. The pilot within, or whatever was inside the Titan, screamed in pain and terror, the carapace-positioned on the Titan firing, laser blasts and Warp-infused doom bolts struck the Kaiju King, trying to dislodge him.
The ground began to shake again, the Imperial leadership and soldiers. The ground shook, the rubble and destroyed vehicles shuddering and shaking across the earth, as Guilliman turned towards the source. Slowly, lumbering with a slow and purposeful march, were the other two Titans, of Nurgle and Slaanesh. At their feet, marched the countless forces of Chaos, Teridax, Gangrothus, and Genobaude at their front.
Godzilla tore his claw free of the Magnifica Loci, and turned to the two approaching Titans, both as disgusting and rancid as the two he had just been fighting. The Slaanesh Titan was something of foul beauty in a way, its armor ornate and curved, resembling pieces of a stained glass window, but colored black, and its edges and portions colored gold, as was the symbol of Slaanesh on its chest. The top of the Titan was adorned with long, elegant spires of obsidian black and tipped with gold. Various chains and razor wire hung from the towers, chunks of somehow-still living humans and other mashed-open beings hanging from them. Around the towers were statues of Daemons, Slaanesh worshipers and others, coiled and wrapped around each other in the throes of excess and hedonism.
The other was a rancid thing, hardly even a machine, the inner workings, joints, circuits and the like, resembling rotted, diseased flesh, jammed into the areas between the armor platting. The plating itself was dark, revolting green. It looked rusted, barely bolted and held together from the rigors of rust and age. One arm ended in a Hellstorm canon, the other some sort of organic weapon, resembling a pulsating organ of some kind, its wide barrel also having a radial mouth, from which green slime and gonk leaked from. Its spires were worn and rusted as well, thick, worm-like...things jutting in the middle of the broken and hollowed-out spires, squirming and twisting in place. Around the titan, thick clouds of flies flew around it. Within its snarling armored face, were two eyes, resembling human eyes, bloodshot and swollen, looking as if they had been scooped from a human's face and jammed into the Titan's eye sockets.
The stench burned at Godzilla's nostrils even from a distance. He carefully stepped off the Titan, and as it tried to aim a Plasma Annihilator at his back, received a tail slamming down like a hammer on its chest. He took two steps forward, stomped another foot, and roared, loud and clear, a further challenge to them and their strength. Mallon was surprised, the pilot within in even worse shape then Magnifica Loci, merely a mash of half-rotted bodies and meat mushed together, a random hand jutting from the mass to twitch and claw at controls. One of the faces briefly strained, as if trying to look surprised, as the creature with Mallon's pilot seat spoke.
"He faced two Imperators and remains standing."
The other, the Marquis of Violations, took a lumbering step forward, the ground splitting apart as it landed. "Such a devilish beast. My, what I could do to a body so durable."
"First you have to slay it." Mallon replied.
"Slay it," The Marquis stated with a chuckle. "Then lay it."
Mallon would've preferred the Slaaneshi devotee remain silent, but that wasn't very possible with the creatures of sound, now was it. A barrage of Missiles and laser weapons opened up, firing upon Godzilla, whose fins glowed, before unleashing another beam, and sweeping it in front of him, vaporizing the missiles and harmlessly exploding them yards away from himself, as the lasers struck and burned deep into his frame, before his body healed it. With the smoke and ash offering some cover, the Monster King charged ahead, growling, his eyes focused in rage.
As the battle waged above, with Godzilla charging and slamming into the Marquis' shields, causing them to flicker and flash with energy, the Kaiju roaring and growling in rage at being denied his victim, and below, with Guilliman and his forces leading Guardsmen and Astartes against the Forces given to him by the Four Dark Gods, Vashtorr watched, and observed. Truthfully, he wished to partake, as much could be learned from fighting Guilliman, but knew better. Let the Bloodthirsters and Secret Keepers do the fighting, he would remain, untouched by that foul blade that granted True Death to the denizens of the Warp. He had to remain, had to make it his goal to become the Sixth God of Chaos. Or Fifth, if the Black and White cretin had finally died from being forgotten. And besides, his goal was the observance of Godzilla in action. Vashtorr's metallic wings clicked and chittered with every movement as he watched, burning, coal-like eyes observing the Beast without blinking.
So many questions remained. How had it survived so long in the Warp without mutation or possession, when it was a mere animal, and one born to absorb energy and evolve and mutate. Where did such monumental strength come from that it could wail on Titan Armor and Void Shields, receive enough damage to destroy 1/5th of an Imperial Hive City, and still keep throwing himself into every fight.
'A beast unbound by physics or logic, and yet, not of the Warp like the Gods or I,' Vashtorr thought coldly, watching as Godzilla grabbed a Ravager Titan by the leg, and fired his beam into Mallon's shields at point blank range. 'A creature whose presence drove the invention of machines both great and foul among aliens. The Pedan, the Bilusaludo. Such fascination it inspires. No wonder scientists drove themselves mad trying to kill it.'
The claws on his free hand clicked against his palm in rhythm, as his mind continued to process and analyze every one of Godzilla's attacks and movements. 'Of course the Key and Vault are central to the plan. I'd be foolhardy to give it up. But to build the new Mechagodzilla, made of Daemons-bound by contract, and Chaos Armor. My, what leverage I'd gain.'
That was another reason to stay alive. He must remain the sole creator of the new Mechagodzilla. Not a creation of future tech and necromancy like the second and third, now of the Gorillas that had gotten their homeworld sucked away by a black hole like the first. No, this would be a perfect machine, built of Chaos plated armor, sorcery, and the binding of lesser Daemons to his will and the Forge. If the Gods wanted their forces to be adorned with such Machines of War, he would have all the cards in hand to grant such desires, but at his leisure.
Every attack, every movement, every reaction from Godzilla, Vashtorr had practically recorded and memorized in his utterly alien, inhuman mind, figuring out which weapon from which of the Four Gods and Undivided would work best against him.
'Yes, my great tunneling Worm within the Webway will burrow through, and an army of Machine Godzillas will act as its guard and troop.' He would've smiled had he been capable.
Until then, he could merely watch the spectacle play out before him.

A Decimator stamped its way through the tides of battle, claws tearing and ripping through anything in its path. Such a fierce Daemon engine rendered tank to scattered scrap, soldiers into meaty chunks to waste away in their own blood. The Crimson-colored war machine's eyes glowed with a malevolent intelligence and inhuman glee, head creaking and cracking from one side to another, sensors picking through the maelstrom of battle to cleave through enemy after enemy. The machine was one of the greatest marvels of war created by the forces of Chaos.
And in a single swing of the blade, Roboute Guilliman completely destroyed it, cleaving it from shoulder to opposite hip, and kicking it aside, as the Hand of Dominion's Bolter roared to life, shredding any Beastmen and even Traitor Astartes that dared approached. His Victrix Guard fought through wave after wave of Daemon and heretic alike, Bolters roaring and barking with the fury of a storm, Gladius blades striking and slashing through armor and flesh. Guilliman could not help but sneak a glance at Godzilla, as he charged straight at the Mallon Titan, the Bio canon firing a stream of thick, viscous green slime, striking and burning Godzilla's chest like acid, but the creature pushed through it, face snarling and raging as he did. His eyes brimmed with nothing but disgust and anger at the Titan for attacking, the Imperator slowly marching around, trying to encircle the beast, before Godzilla picked up speed, charging at full tilt, and slamming shoulder first into the Void shields. The Titan planted both feet, and continued firing.
Guilliman still wasn't sure what to make of such a display of power from an animal. His sword swung around, even as his mind was elsewhere, cleaving through Possessed and Chosen as if they were made of paper. The Hand of Dominion clenched and swung, not so much punching another Khornate Berzerker's head off, as vaporizing almost his entire upper body in a fog of blood and bone. A Slaaneshi Champion with two Blades darted about, striking and cleaving through Sword Brethren of the Black Templars, twin power blades striking, flicking off blood, then slicing through another, before swinging both blades downwards, and being blocked by Cato Sicarius' blade.
"Ah! Cato Sicarius, it is an honor to meet the great swordsmen and warrior of the Ultramarines," Telion hissed with delight, the two's blades sparking and pushing against each other. "Though I would've preferred Titus."
"Do not speak the name of your betters." Cato snarled, pushing him back, before firing his Plasma Pistol at the Champion's waist, the being barely dodging out of the way. "I am your foe, here and now, and will not suffer for your foul, degenerate tongue to speak on any of my brothers."
"Ah, so caring for them, aren't you?" Telion taunted, spinning and slashing like a whirling dervish, Cato expertly blocking and deflecting every blow. "But you cannot hide your pride and arrogance. You would make a perfect champion of Slaanesh, like myself."
Roboute himself was soon assaulted by a Bloodthirster, the massive Daemon slamming into the ground, Guilliman's demigod strength the only thing keeping him rooted to the ground, and blocking the heavy swing of the Daemon's ax. The creature's hound-like face snarled, lips pulling back to reveal teeth like long knives, and spittle dripping from them. As the Daemon tried to overpower him, Genobaude and Gangrothus both slammed into him from the side and back, Genobaude's chainswords striking into his armor, Gangrothus' Reaper striking across Guilliman's back. Flashs flashed from every strike, as Guilliman struggled, then pushed the Greater Daemon back. Teridax swung his hand forward, before numerous bolts of black and purple energy slammed into Guilliman, knocking him back a few feet, purple/black smoke rising from his chest, as he turned to the Sorcerer Lord, more annoyed then anything.
"We struck first blood!" Genobaude declared, grinning like mad.
"You barely scratched my armor." Guilliman remarked dryly, swinging his Bolter around, and opening fire, the Chaos Lords diving for cover.
Gangrothus charged, swinging his Man-Reaper about, the corroded, rusted blade releasing a sickly hiss with every attempted strike. "Do not give the Primarch respite! Strike at him with all your hatred and fury!"
The Bloodthirster and Genobaude charged again, their axes and Chainswords striking and lashing out at The Avenging Son with all the speed and strength they could must, Khorne-blessed power giving them the strength to cut down most other Marines, but not a match for the Primarch's reactions, the Regent of the Imperium deflecting and parrying every blow. The perfect balance of a gymnast, Guilliman ducked out of the way of Gangrothus' swing, aimed for his neck, stepped about, and swung the back of his free hand into the Plague Lord's face, sending him flying several feet away. Warp Lightning struck against Guilliman, electrifying him and dancing over his body and armor, the Primarch grinding his teeth and turning to the Chaos Lord. Teridax poured more of his power into the lightning, trying to keep him down, but Guilliman instead advanced on him as if nothing was happening.
Gangrothus charged again, swinging his Reaper, Guilliman deflecting the blow with his Power Fist without even looking and taking a swing aimed at the Chaos Lord's head, only for the Bloodthirster to come in and swing a kick at the side of the Primarch, knocking him aside.
Teridax flicked his right arm out, two Warp portals opened, and hordes of Daemonettes, Bloodletters and Furies charging out, shrieking and roaring as they mobbed the Primarch, Claws, pincers, swords and other weapons swinging at him as they jumped all about him, Guilliman still struggling to get up.
Gangrothus gripped his Reaper in both hands, signaling to the other Lords to keep up the attack. Already, even with his injuries and prior fights, was already cleaving through the Daemons with reckless abandon. Teridax was stunned, before catching the attention of several Chosen, of Nurgle and Khorne, and directing them towards the Primarch as well. Plague Bolters and Blades were drawn, as were Chainaxes and Power Swords.
"His bodyguard has been cut off, swarm him and hit him all your fury!" Teridax commanded, firing another blast of Doom Bolts, striking Guilliman as well as several Daemons in the radius.
The Primach shrugged off his psychic attacks, parrying and deflecting the blows away from himself, and firing his wrist-mounted Bolter, striking Genobaude and Gangrothus and pushing them back as they stumbled from the injuries. Even Gangrothus ducked out of the way, knowing full well even Nurgle's blessings would not stop a Primarch's weapon from putting him down for good. A few Berzerkers threw themselves at him, the first few cut down with a simple sweep of his blade, before easily blocking the others, crushing one Berzerker's head with his power fist's grip like a grape fruit.
"My Victrix Guard are quite helpful, but do you really think a Primarch of all things would need protection?" The Primarch asked with a slight grin to them. "Has the Warp addled your brains that much?"
Gangrothus and Geobaude charged alongside the other Marines, Plague Bolters firing, every bullet that spewed from their desiccated, rusted weapons leaving a poisonous, thick green trail of smoke in their wake. Chainaxes and Chainswords roared to life as they swung their weapons, Genobaude jumping at the Primarch, who easily blocked the blow, holding back the Khornate Lord, who was struggling and grunting to push through, while Guilliman simply glared him down, none the worse for wear in spite of everything. Roboute flicked his sword-arm's wrist, sending Genobaude flying back, before an explosion sounded, Guilliman turning in surprise, as a tank shell flew through the air and smashed into his side, exploding.
A Chaos Predator, crimson and brass, rolled slowly into position, two Hellbrutes marching beside, one with two Power Claws with crimson armor, the other with the black and blue of the Brotherhood and one arm turned into a massive autocanon. Teridax swept his claws before him, clearing his mind and focusing on the Primarch. Every power, every attack, it felt like they could barely even tire him. Is this what mortals felt when they fought Astartes? The smoke cleared, showing Guilliman still standing, shaking himself off, ears ringing from the explosion. The Primarch clenched his Power Fist, released it, then clenched it again.
"You are beginning to irritate me, traitorous filth." Roboute said simply.
Teridax and the other Chaos Lords' eyes widened in shock and horror, the Daemons and Chaos Marines gathering and circling around him, growling and snarling at the Primarch. Their anger was almost a good enough cover for their fear. Teridax hated himself for it, but it was obvious. Just as Godzilla had inspired it in Lakaeros, so to had Guilliman inspired fear in the Chaos Space Marines, beings who faced horrors everyday within the Warp, horrors from rival warbands and their Daemonic masters. The Primarch was the very reminder that, for all the terrible power of the Chaos Gods, the Imperium could be just as horrific, just as brutal in its execution of war.
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Godzilla was sent toppling once more with the horrific sound of Sonic screams penetrating his ears and flesh, and sending him flying away from the black and gold Titan. He dug his claws into the streets and earth, trying to hang on, before another burst of sonic waves sent him flying end over end. As the great beast crashed into the buildings and hab-blocks again and again, the other three Titans fired off Plasma and Hellstorm blasts, before peppering him with rockets. Explosions tore through, the Nuclear Leviathan roaring in pain and rage, trying to rise again, before another barrage of Hellstorm blasts hit him and sent him back down into the ground. The earth shook, Godzilla's agony and pain from the human weapons merely driving him to further anger and determination to beat them.
They were touched by the creatures of the Never-Place, fouler to him then even the Man in Gold. They turned everything to a mutilated husk of what it once was, and sought only murder and mayhem. If it were not required of him, and forced upon him by the 'Emperor', Godzilla wouldn't enter the place. Swimming through it was like swimming through acid, burning at his skin and mind, voices calling to him every second he was in the Never-Place. At some points, it was calm, lacking the taint of the Chaos Gods. Most of the time, it wasn't. His fins flashed, as he glared down the tainted Titans, all four standing above him, weapons cooling and reloading, before his mouth burned with blue flames and radiation, building up, before firing off a beam.
It struck the Slaanesh Marquis Titan first, Void Shield flickering and flashing, as the Titan turned and began to move. The Marquis of Violations was still slow, still lumbering about, but compared to the other Titans, it could move with some purpose and speed, more akin to the speed of the smaller Titans. Godzilla swung his head about, striking the other Titans, before focusing on the Mallon Titan. It hadn't done anything personally to him, but its stench offended his nostrils more then anything else. While its visage and appearance were also disgusting to the sight, Godzilla was not one to care for appearance.
The beam continued, Volcano Gun shots striking and burning against his frame, but doing little to phase him, as he stood and advanced on the Plague Titan. The Nurgle-Marked did not simply stand, and opened fire with Hellstorm and Bio Canon shots, the Hellstorm's burning beam, like a concentrated of blast of a sun, struck into Godzilla's side, but could not stop him. The shields remained, his beam burning into its spherical surface on and on. Finally, the shields broke, and Godzilla charged through. The Bio Canon's stream of green acid melted at his skin, almost as fast as Godzilla's incredible body could heal from it.
Mallon's pilot's eyes would've widened if he had any recognizable features left. They had been warned by Grandfather Nurgle to beware of the King of Monsters, that he would tank any weapon thrown at him, and keep throwing himself at the enemy until either they or himself were dead, but Mallon hadn't expected the creature to be this determined, to the point of suicide. Even as the other Titans fired upon him, Godzilla did not relent, until Mallon's shield broke, and the creature finally stopped the beam, only to jump at him like a panther, grabbing the Titan's shoulders and using his weight and momentum to force the gigantic machine down. Lifting both fists over head, Godzilla slammed into the machine's face, once, twice, then a third, each time, the blow heavy and powerful enough to shake the entire city. The armor of Mallon's face cracked and crumbled under the weight of such blows,
As he drew up to strike again, Magnifica fired, not Plasma from his Annihilator guns, but bursts of Warp Fire, striking the Kaiju in the side, and sending him flying away with a roar of pain. As the kaiju hit the ground and rolled away, Marquis focused its Sonic Canons, and fired beams of screaming cacophony pounding the monster as he struggled, groaning in pain from the abuse. The Slaanesh Titan and its Khornate counterpart approached, perhaps a little too eager, before Godzilla fired off another blast of energy, striking both, as they returned fire.
"How can such a thing be so strong?" Devasa snarled, a barrage of Vortex Missiles and Volcano Gun shots hitting the kaiju.
"Kaiju are indomitable beasts," Magnifica Loci remarked. "Keep pouring fire. Even his regeneration has to give in."
In response, a lance of azure radiation fired off, striking both and their void shields, making them flicker and flash in the air around them. The two pilots within the Titans reared back in shock for only a second, before firing their weapons again. The weapons struck, over and over, again and again, pushing Godzilla back, the Monster King grunting. He glared back at them with a near unfathomable rage. Their weapons and former loyalties to that Human-like thing back on Earth would've been bad enough, but their selling their souls to the Chaos Gods of the Never-Place offended him further then anything else before. The shields collapsed again, this time much easier then before, as Godzilla threw himself into the attacks, claws hewing and cutting through the tainted, unnatural flesh material and the multiple layers of corroded armor, globs of thick, green-black slime flying from the areas Godzilla attacked. It burned and hissed like acid wherever it met Godzilla's flesh, the Kaiju's claws and fingers burning and eaten away almost as fast he could heal.
At the same time, Magnifica Loci fired off Plasma blasts at his back, preparing another spell, before Godzilla's tail snapped about like a whip, and struck the Titan's shields, sending a loud crack through the air and a shockwave, as the shields almost buckled, and as Mallon prepared its Plague Canon to fire again, Godzilla swung his tail about again, cracking the shields apart. Magnifica snarled in agitation, before firing a barrage of Black Doom Bolts at the back of the Kaiju, striking him over and over, as Godzilla grabbed just above the elbow leading to Mallon's Plague Canon, pretending to struggle for a moment, before the Titan fired, another stream of caustic slime and acids, burning Godzilla's right arm and shoulder, before the Monster King suddenly turned on his heel and redirected the Plague Canon's arc of fire right at Magnifica.
"You Plague-touched fool!" Was all the Tzeentch Titan managed to shout, before acidic slime coated the steeples and armor of the Sorcerer-machine.
Mallon struggled to wretch itself free of Godzilla's grip, but the creature refused to let go. He stopped firing the Plague blast, more to focus on the attacking monster and less to save one of his counterparts. Godzilla only seem to relent when he released the Plague Canon and began to tear into Mallon's side, ripping mutated, warp-borne flesh and machinery out, reaching in with both claws, and began prying them apart, pulling in opposite directions. Mallon felt terror and shock come through its inner body in waves as realization hit. Godzilla wasn't just trying to tear open armor, like a clumsy Ork trying to get through Power Armor with his simple Choppa. Godzilla's fins glowed, flashing with greater and greater power as he pulled back his head, breathing in deep.
'Did this creature truly intend to ignite my Plasma Reactors? To what end?!' Mallon thought in terror, struggling and fighting to try and get a better vantage point with any of the harder-hitting weapons. 'Is he fully intending to withstand the reactors exploding, just to kill us?'
The creature was prepared to fire another beam, before several Sonic Blasts burst from Marquis, the purple, wavelength beams striking the Kaiju in the side, and sending flying, dragging across the ground. The Titan continued to pour Sonic blasts down, before killing the attack and waiting. Godzilla roared, a loud yell of pain that would've burst their ear dreams, as the Marquis simply fired off more missiles from the structure atop its body into the monster. The creature seemed to fall silent and still, the Slaanesh Titan approaching, shaking the city with every step, Mallon and Loci staying back, while Durvasa remained the furthest back, its shattered arm still sparking and fizzling. The Marquis of Violations kept up the pace, prepared for whatever the Kaiju had left.
"Struggle if you like, its so much more fun for me when those like you struggle to survive." The Marquis declared, laughing to itself. "Come on, get up."
The dust hung over the portions of the city, obscuring everything beneath the Titan. The sensors were still alerting him that the Kaiju was alive and breathing underneath the rubble and ash and smoke, but was not moving to attack or struggling. The Titan was confused, the Greater Daemon within, having subsumed the minds of Machine Spirit and Crew, utterly taken aback for a moment, before preparing the weapons.
"Such a pathetic display, I wonder..." He began, before Godzilla jumped to his feet, swinging an upper cut that caught the Titan on the 'chin', knocking them a step.
Godzilla stepped forward, cocking back a fist to strike the Titan, only for the Doom Sirens built into its shoulders and carapace to activate, an intense, thumping vibration sent through the air, any building material left nearby vaporized by the intense sound waves, buffeting Godzilla, blood trickling from his ears, as he struggled to keep his footing, before another pulse of sound burst forth and sent the monster flying away. The Marquis marched forward, as the other Titans watched, Godzilla struggling to back on his feet. Finally, the creature that had dared opposed the will of the Dark Gods had been brought low. Lord Slaanesh would enjoy torturing and violating this creature until it learned to submit like so many humans and aliens alike that had come before.
"What a mewling little wretch. You were supposed to be the strongest of your mutated kin? Doubtful." The Marquis declared in an arrogant tone. "My, I wonder. If your mother and father still lived, what would they think?"
The Marquis laughed to himself, the machine's head shaking slowly from side to side. "Your father, who died to protect such a weak, anemic son? It seems nothing has changed. And your mother. The human, Azusa Gojo, right?"
Godzilla's eyes locked onto the Titan, claws digging deep into the ground and clenching into fists, shredding portions of the sidewalks and streets beneath. "Shame you were raised by such a mortal finite creature. What I would not give to have her within my grasp, to indulge in my delig..."
His threats were interrupted by Godzilla throwing himself at the Titan, still low, and slamming into the Marquis' chest headfirst, Godzilla's armored head leaving a crater in the middle of the Titan's armor, and throwing it backwards and into the ground. The Titan yelled in surprise, as Godzilla stood up, ignoring the slight pain at the top of his head from the impact, charging forward, before slamming down his foot upon the Titan's chest, just below the head, smashing the metal inwards again with all the force Godzilla could manage. He had seen so much in the millennia since he had to leave the world he knew behind. Very few things could actually rose his anger.
But, even with nearly 42 millennia having past since his father had melted away, and his own mother had peacefully past of old age, they were still the thing he would tolerate no words of slander from especially from the debased, possessed creatures in service to Chaos.
He leaned down, and roared, eyes brimming with pure rage and hatred. The Marquis fired his weapons, point blank, some going wide, while a few struck and others went wide or only skimmed the sides of Godzilla's body. He growled in rage, before lifting his foot up, and slamming it into the face of the Titan. Armor buckled and split from the hit, Warp energies leaking from the breaks, before Godzilla brought his foot down again and smashed into the face again. As the Titan struggled, firing more weapons to get the beast off of it, Godzilla's fins flashing and burning with Cherenkov energy, heating the air around him, as he drew in, and fired a blast into the Slaanesh Titan's face, sweeping it through the upper structure of the Titan.
The Marquis' armor began to melt and vaporize, before several Hellstorm and Plasma shots struck the Kaiju in the side and sent him flying back, away from the fallen Chaos Titan, and into the air for several feet. Godzilla yowled in pain, flesh and skin burning orange and blue from the attacks, before slamming into another section of the city, crushing and utterly destroying most of the buildings in the way, and leveling it, while the rest shook with the force of a small Earthquake. The three Titans approached the downed kaiju, slow and purposeful in their movements, heavy, weighty steps shaking the Earth.
They expected he would stay down, take time to breath and get back up, but another azure blast erupted from the monster's mouth, striking the Mallon Titan, and forcing him back, and then the Void Shields of the others. The Nurglite Titan stumbled and shook from the beam, destroying a portion of the Temple structure atop it, while the others watched carefully for more attacks, hoping the shield generators located across the Titans would kick back on and reinforce their defenses against Godzilla's further attacks. As they waited, a barrage of artillery shells and missiles fired off, Manticore and Basilisk rounds striking the shields and armored hull of the Titans, as the Aeronautica Imperialis Airforce swooped down for another strafing run.
Autocanon fire and missiles flew out, striking in and around the Titans, Void Shields absorbing every strike, some of their weapons focusing in on the Imperial Fighters and bombers, and firing a barrage of projectiles into the air, trying to drown the fighters in volume of fire. Godzilla had arisen, and charged once more, as fast as his brutish, lumbering body could take him. The Titans opened fire with their arm weapons, striking and hitting him as they fired into the skies. He endured every hit, shrugging off Melta and Hellstorm beams, Godzilla closing in on them, swing a kick into the Titan of Nurgle and knocking it to the ground, before continuing to charge into the wave of attacks and energy weapons. He fired a blast of energy at one of the Titans, and swept it about. Durvasa's shields took the first hit, then Magnifica Loci, who shields buckled, and took the brunt of the beam in the shoulder and part of the super structure, explosions tearing through a portion of the Titan's body. The Tzeentch-marked Titan stumbled back, grunting from the hits, as Godzilla continued pounding towards it, killing the beam and reaching out towards the Titan's face with his left hand. Then, a flash of energy burst outwards, the void shields appearing around it, and slicing Godzilla's left arm just below the elbow. The Monster roared, staggering back, before both unleashed a full salvo of weapons fire upon the beast.
Durvasa laughed, as a barrage of Las Canon beams struck and hit Godzilla in the chest and neck repeatedly. "Not so funny losing an arm, it is monster?"
Godzilla fell back, landing with a titanic boom that shook the city, the stump of his arm spraying blood across the ground, smoke and steam rising from the pools where it landed, any stone or metal caught in the spray of the blood melted slowly and eaten away like an ice cube in the heat. He roared and cried out in agony, the two Titans lumbering over to him, priming their weapons for another barrage. Godzilla seemed beaten, on his back, holding out an arm desperately, both Titan's occupants enjoying the sweet taste of victory, and their enemy now being so weak, and at their mercy. After so long, such a creature was theirs to murder, and his soul would become property of one of the Dark Gods.
Then, with a sudden burst of strength, Godzilla swung upwards, fins flashing with blue fire and fury, and opened wide, his beam striking Durvasa, pushing the Titan away, and releasing a number of explosions, before swinging it around and striking Magnifica Loci's shields, before striking the ground in front of the shield, throwing up dust and debris before, the ground shifting and weakening from the attack. Magnifica set all energy towards the legs, shifting and starting to move away, knowing all too well what the beast was doing, before the ground broke and crumbled, cracks forming long in the ground, and chunks and pieces falling to the levels below.
Dust and debris flew into the air, temporarily blinding Magnifica's visual detection systems, as Godzilla charged, and slammed shoulder first into the Titan's shields as the Great God Machine struggled to maintain its stability. Godzilla swung a fist, and broke the shields in one punch, the ground breaking and shattering all the faster from the enormity and weight of the two. Godzilla grabbed his severed arm, and jammed it back into place, as the Tzeentch Titan fired a point-blank blast from one of its Plasma Annihilators. The blast hit Godzilla in the face, briefly stunning him, before the Kaiju reached down, grabbing the Chaos Titan by the 'neck' under the head, then the mechanical abdomen, and with a growl, hefted the Titan over his head, slowly and surely bringing the machine, every muscle in its arms shaking, his mighty chest heaving, before throwing the machine several yards into the city, happening to land right into the Prime Minister's palace, and utterly destroying most of it on impact.
Godzilla could feel his left arm shudder and shake uncontrollably. He snarled, grabbing it and forcing it still. It had healed just enough to throw, but logically he should've left it to fully connected. Many nerve endings and blood vessels were still disconnected and severed, and struggling to heal. Forcing himself like that would only slow the process down. Durvasa's weapons fired, and at the same time, the Marquis had returned to the fight, firing all their weapons, and the sonic canons built into it, both knocking him to the ground once more.
Mallon rose up as well, grunting to himself in annoyance. "Keep him down, and alternate firing patterns. We don't want him recovering."
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Guilliman stood before the countless vehicles of Chaos, cutting through as many as he could reach with his sword, as Devastators and Guard Weapon Teams set up and fired, Lascanon and missile shots striking the hulls. The Chaos Lords and Champions watched, any Daemons, Raptors and others throwing themselves at him, cut down by the phalanx of Black Templar Sword Brethren lead by Holden, or Cato and his Victrix Guard. Teridax flexed his Power Claws, and threw them forward, gouts of Warp Fire flying forth, striking the ground and exploding around the Marines. Lakaeros and other Sorcerers threw their hands up and focused with their staffs, Warp Lightning and Doom Bolts striking and scattering Marines, some destroyed outright, as Plague Sorcerers fired blasts of caustic green gas and clouds of plague and rotting-disease.
Guilliman stood, even among the chaos of battle, and connected to his Vox networks again. His eyes were on the great beast, the forces of Chaos pouring down fire from all angels upon the creature. He knew with Chaos closed in around his fleets, that transporting the Titan Maniple down to the planet would be next to impossible, so he knew his best option was in the unorthodox.
"Arch-Magos DeBarrik, Kyornstein, are you picking up this creature's signature?" Roboute asked quickly.
Kyornstein answered. "Yes Lord Regent. The creature's body, even with the few Auspex arrays and visual scans done by other Tech-Priests on the ground and our Skitarii, are showing things of such wonder."
DeBarrik spoke next. "That arm severed that it jammed back into place, Servo-Skulls show it has fully regained motor function. Its body expels radiation even now that would kill almost anything. That beam burns at 700,000 degrees."
Roboute grunted in slight annoyance, before speaking again, getting the various Mechanicus back on track. "You say its radioactive, correct?"
He shot several Cultists and Chosen trying to charge at him with ax, bolter and other weapons, cutting them down without missing a beat, as Kyornstein spoke. "Yes, indeed! More radiation then a Forge World's worth of Vanguard and Onager Dunecrawlers."
"Could it be feeding on radiation then?"
The two seemed perplexed by his question. DeBarrik spoke in a slightly perturbed manner, hard to tell through his robotic voice. "I...I could guess perhaps it uses radiation on some level...?"
"Is the blue fire from its mouth radioactive?" Guilliman asked, parrying another Berzerker's strike, then impaling him through the chest.
"Yes." DeBarrik answered.
"Then it stands to reason it has radiation inside its internal workings," Guilliman replied firmly. "I have seen such from the Feral Eldar Exodites, of their Dragon beasts. Some could store internal gases that, when expelled, would burn anything in front of them."
Kyornstein commented quickly. "Yes, I have studied them alongside my Biologis partners, but gases and flame are one thing. Radiation? Rak'Gol of Calixis, certain Orks, and Void Whales and Krakens maybe, but those are largely immunities to radiation."
"If a Void Whale can survive expose to solar radiation, then it stands to reason this can," The Primarch said firmly, glaring back at the three Titans as they unloaded their weaponry at the creature, who struggled and roared in pain. "General Garvis, prepare the Deathstrike Missile Launchers."
"Lord Regent, I must object. The Plasma Ordinance and Godspears could help bring down those things," The General said carefully, well aware of what thin ice he could be on with a Primarch. "We should wait for the beast to recover, then firing the weaponry I suggested at the unshielded Titans, giving him more of a chance to damage..."
"No. It needs radiation like a Marine needs Bolter shells and a Guardsmen needs his Lasgun packs," Guilliman responded. "If we cannot bring in a Titan to support the thing, then I am authorizing the use of nuclear weapons in Jovor."
Garvis' eyes widened with alarm as he turned his head slightly towards his microbead. "There are still many Astartes and Guardsmen in the vicinity. You are just out of range of the blast radius, but will be absolutely exposed to the fallout."
"Then we will have to be careful breathing in." Guilliman responded simply. "Any of the other Colonels can replace you if you don't wish to fully my orders."
Garvis stood for a moment among his officers and staff, surveying the battlefield. He paced back and forth for a moment, not sure if the victory was worth the shame of killing a Primarch, or if this would even bring them victory. After a few moments, a Commissar looking at him intently, hand on his bolter pistol, Garvis answered.
"I will give the order." He said simply.
Holden gripped his sword tightly, as he and his Sword Brethren made their way through Chaos filth, cutting down traitors left and right, as the order went through. "Well, this might be the end of us."
One of the other Black Templars nodded, ripping his mighty sword out of the bloated, half-rotted body of a Beastman. "Indeed. If the blast doesn't kill us, the radiation will bring an end to us and our gene-line."
"We had a good run of things, I think," Holden remarked with a nod. "Let's make sure we settle things and bring these traitors to account to the Emperor before we're done."
Elsewhere, Garik and the mass of Guardsmen fought alongside Ultramarine and Shadows, striking with everything they had against the traitors. Primaris Aggressors lumbered forward, firing off missiles and Heavy Bolt rounds, as Assault marines and Assault Intercessors charged into battle, Chainswords and other melee weapons getting to their bloody work, as Raptors and Warp Talons charged upon wings of flame and dropped down on the foe. Garik was on auto pilot, not even comprehending the news, just firing his lasgun at everything with spikes, blood, disease and skulls all over it.
A Black Templar Terminator, with a Sword in one hand and Storm Bolter in the other, lumbered forward, shaking Garik slightly as if the Astartes were as heavy as the monster and Titans currently fighting it out. A Possessed Marine flew at the Terminator on two leathery wings, dodging and weaving through the swings of the Templar, screeching a hellish scream as its mouth opened and warp fire spewed out. The Terminator lifted up his shield, blocking most of it, as the Possessed continued on, before Garik charged at him, firing his Lasgun several times into its face. The Possessed shook it off, reacting more like a fly had flown into his face, rather then a lethal weapon that could incinerate bodies and lacerates flesh. It turned, its reptilian face bent in a look of confusion more then anger, before flying at him. Garik flinched, screaming in terror and holding his lasgun up, hoping at least to impale it on his bayonet.
The impact of the giant Marine never came, a sickening crounch sounding, followed by a screech of pain. Garik looked up, tentative and fearful, as the Possessed Marine's legs were hacked off at the knee, falling to the ground, as it crawled for a moment, crawling on the ground, before the Terminator stepped over, and lifted his blade over the Possessed's head, before letting the blade drop and slam through its skull, and hit the ground beneath, killing it. The Black Templar ripped the sword out, giving his blade a twirl and flicking the blood off, before bowing his head slightly to Garik.
"Very good, Guardsmen." He said simply, his voice booming enough to make Garik's bones shake.
"Thank you, My Lord. I wish I would live long enough to tell my kids about this." Garik replied, shaking his head, the realization of the events coming over him, eyes beginning to tear up.
"Such a thing might not be possible, but take solace that the Emperor will know your deeds, Guardsmen." The Terminator replied. "Such bravery and zeal goes unsurpassed among even Sword Brethren."
Garik nodded, removing the pack and replacing it quickly with a new pack. "Thank you Lord."
He wiped a tear from his eye, before shaking his head. "Sorry."
"Be not ashamed," The Templar stated. "Tears are what separate us from Xenos. Orks are too violent, Eldar too cold to feel pure emotion and feeling like us."
Garik doubted the Emperor would feel the same way, but nodded. "Thank you lord."
"No, thank you, private..."
"Garik."
"Brother Konig." The Templar replied, bowing his head slightly as if they were equal. "Before we are lost forever, let us make our wrath known!"
"Aye sir!" Garik replied, the two warriors unleashing their fire upon the foes of the Emperor.
Garik was almost overwhelmed by the compliment. During the Plague War, when he was in his teens, a Tactical Marine had glanced at him and grunted in apprehension. It was a thing no one believed. Now, a full Terminator had spoken to, and complimented him, and he almost felt weak at the knees. He had heard legneds of a small team of Terminators stopping what a full Guard regiment couldn't, whole Ork WAAAGHS, Chaos incursions, attacks by Xenos like the Thexian and T'au.
'Everything's insane,' He thought, shaking his head slightly as he fired rounds into several Furies and sending them toppling into the ground. 'Giant lizard, Marines actually acknowledging me. I can't be that blessed!'
He couldn't. He knew the nuclear missiles were incoming. The Radiation and fallout would result in him forced to rely on biotics and rejuvenant treatments to survive for the rest of his days. And such things were rarely rewarded to a Guardsmen or PDF Trooper with a fancy tale of a Terminator Marine expressing some admiration.
'I'm gonna die, one of billions, in a camp.' He thought, eyes tearing up again, as he opened up his lasgun alongside thousands of Minthay, Praetorian and Kauravan troops on a squad of Marines, as Konig charged home. 'Emperor damn me, why am I so sinful?'
He knew the Guardsmen and PDF should welcome their deaths, relish dying in battle against Xenos and Heretics, but he was fearful. He had lived a relatively short life. He knew so few. He had loved so few. He felt like his life had been but a fragment of what someone was supposed to live.
'Emperor forgive me for such selfishness,' He thought, firing away at the foes of the Emperor. 'I'm doing my duty, just...give me a new life filled with glory and fullness at least.'
He wished they were closer to the battle. Maybe a wayward missile or plasma blast, or a shot from that...thing's mouth would end him and others quickly without any of the nastiness to come. Could the Space Marines survive this fallout and all? Or would they too wither and die? He shook it off, simply focusing his fire on the Chaos forces all around. Las beams struck Cultists, Daemons and Marines, joined by hundreds of other Guardsmen, their las breams shredding any of the less armed Chaos forces, while the Marines clashed with Daemons and Heretic Marines.
Away from the front, among the various artillery pieces and weapons of mankind, were the Kauravan and Cadian troops and officers assigned to watch over the pieces. While the Basilisks and Manticores thundered away, delivering volleys aimed at Chaos and the Titans especially, the three Deathstrikes remained on-standby, everyone watching them for the order to come. The officers had heard the conversation, and the order from Guilliman, and their expressions and bodies went stiff. The soldiers saw, and their worst fears began to take shape.
One of the Commissars approached, face grave and weary, as he spoke to the artillery crews waiting to man the Deathstrike. "The word has come down. General Garvis and the Imperial Regent himself have ordered the firing of all Three Deathstrikes upon the target with the Super-massive reptile and Chaos Titans."
The crews of the Deathstrikes looked forlorn, many giving the sign of the Aquila. The battle must have truly been a desperate one, if they were going to be using such high grade artillery against the beast and the Titans. It would certainly work, but even with the size of an Imperial City like Jovor, their allies would still be down wind of such terrible weaponry and the fallout resulting from it. It was a solemn moment, but there was no time to consider the full ramifications. The crews jumped to work, preparing and loading the warheads for launch. Tech-Priests applied the sacred oils and psalms, preparing the nuclear weapons for launch. The Commissar watched them all work sternly, gripping his bolt pistol tightly. This was too important to mistakes and mishandling. Any problems would be dealt with, brutally and quickly.
As they loaded and prepared, Godzilla rose from the attack, firing another beam, striking the Slaanesh Titan, before being shot in the back of Mallon's Plague Canon, staggering the beast, and almost knocking him to the ground, before the Marquis fired off his Sonic Canons at the front. He staggered from the hits, before firing another beam at the Slaanesh-corrupted Titan, hitting it in the chest, and knocking it backwards. The Marquis of Violations' face was shattered and cracked open. Purple Warp energy seemed to leak from the cracks, but showed no signs of stopping. As the Sonic blasts buffeted Godzilla backwards, the Marquis fired off a barrage of missiles, striking into Godzilla's hide, penetrating the flesh, and exploding within, chunks of flesh and fountains of blood spilling out, Godzilla's body falling backwards, as the beam went wide, vaporizing a number of nearby buildings and spreading nuclear flames across the city.
"Where did that Tzeentch-worshiping bastard go?" Durvasa asked in annoyance, believing he had something else up his sleeve.
"Got thrown." Mallon answered simply.
Durvasa sensors picked up Magnifica's signal, nearly a mile away. "How strong is this bastard?"
"Far in excess compared to the father," Mallon answered. "Unfortunate the latter had to die, and his soul is long out of reach. What a bargaining chip it could've made to bring him over."
"And two of the bastards would bring the Imperium to its knees." Durvasa replied eagerly, the human within grinning, blood dripping from her gums and the corners of her lips, portions of her face splitting open.
"Or...what is that?" Mallon asked, attention directed upwards. From far off, from where the Imperial artillery had been launching missiles and shells, came three massive missiles heading right for them.
The Auspex arrays and scanners instantly picked up and began analyzing the projectiles speeding towards them. It did not take long for the foul technologies and Warp abilities to figure out what was being sent at them.
"Those fools!" Durvasa shouted in disbelief. "Did that Primarch really sanction two nuclear warheads!?"
"Activate all Void shields!" The Marquis warned in alarm.
"Only half of my mine have come back online!" Mallon shouted.
"Then pray to your God it is enough to withstand two of them going off at once!" The Marquis stated.
Guilliman held a Lord of Change by the throat, the Daemon flailing and hissing, before a foul stench hit his nose. He groaned, the Bird-like Daemon trying to get free, before he twisted its head completely around, then punched through its chest, the Daemon vanishing within a flash of sorcerous light and Warp fire, Guilliman turning. The creature before him was obviously one of Nurgle, though its thin and gangly arms and long, course hair made it stand out from other Great Unclean Ones. Even without the usual features, its stench made even his superhuman body want to vomit, and the feeling of sickness reminded him all too much of his last 'meeting' with his brother, Mortarion.
The creature's long jaws formed into a malefic smile, as the creature hefted its great ax upon its shoulder, and gave a mock bow to him. "Greetings, Primarch, I am Aruiteriu Yurei, Grandfather Nurgle spoke much of you. Much of it was unusually angry for the Jovial one. Of course, you did burn down his garden."
"If only I could've done more." Guilliman remarked, lip curling in disgust. "Is there a reason I am not smitting you?"
The Daemon tilted his head to one side, still with a bemused smile, as if humoring a child. "I presume not. But before we get to the business of battle, I must let it be known I truly delighted I am to be here to see my progenitor."
Guilliman gave the Greater Daemon a confused, and ultimately annoyed look. "What creator."
The creature pointed to the Titanic battle going on, between the Imperators and Godzilla himself. "That creature is one they call Godzilla. Born of Nuclear flame and death, one whose entire being is destruction. He is the third of his line. It from his 'uncle', the first, that I happen to be born from."
Thee Daemon continued. "You see, in the ancient annals of history, long lost, the first was born, dragged himself from the Atoll, and attacked one of your ancient civilizations. Millions were snuffed out. Women and children, their souls screaming for release from the nuclear horrors he endured, and in turn, inflicted. From the pain of so many, came myself, the Walking Ghost in the Garden."
He considered those words carefully, before shaking his head. "I am to believe you? That you, a Daemon would tell the truth? To what do I care?"
"You would do well to remember the ability to inflict suffering is as ingrained in that creature's bloodline, as is the radiation," Aruiteriu replied, his voice taking a much more grim and dark tone. "And that you may have to answer to your own kind for what you have allowed to live."
"There are many failures I will have to answer to all of humanity for," Guilliman responded bluntly, raising his sword, as Plaguebearers burst into realspace all around them through portals. "Unleashing something that can destroy you all will, however, be worth it."
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Godzilla rose unsteadily to his feet, left arm burned horribly, his chest and back as well, and numerous burn scars across his face. He breathed in deeply, grunting in pain, before falling to one knee, breathing hard and trying to catch his breath. For 39 Millennia, he had fought everything you think of, from the Siege-Machines of the Pedan, corrupted Giants of Light like Belial, and the most hated foe of all, the Golden Demise, but it had surprised him throughout this whole fight just how powerful the humans had gotten in their technology. He thought they would be easy enough to damage, but even after repeated attacks and blasts of his breath, they were still going.
He snarled, before looking around, wondering why they had stopped. Would they offer him power, a chance to join their disgusting Gods? He had been possessed before, and pushed them out of his mind. They had nothing he wanted. Then, he heard the scream of a missile coming towards him. He turned his head upwards, eyes widening slightly in surprise. Where the humans trying to launch another attack? He didn't care for what the humans had become now adays. He may have been raised by one in his early years, but Azusa Gojo was gone and buried, and these were not the humans he protected when the moment called for it, but at least he could appreciate their attempts to help.
As the three missiles reached their apex in the sky, and began to hurtle towards him and three corrupted Titans, his senses picked up something else. He blinked once, the kaiju rising again to his feet. Those were nuclear weapons. He could smell the radioactive material contained within, like a shark scenting blood. His mouth pulled into a hungry smile, eyes glinting. Whether they knew his power or not, these humans were about to give him his second wind.

The Tsar Bomba was, at the time of its creation, one of the largest nuclear weapons to ever detonate on Earth. Its initial radius was 3.7 miles, with damage going up to 27 miles, and radiation burns all the way to 32 miles. However, when compared to the current bombs of the 42nd Millennium, the idea of a weapon only wiping out everything within 27 miles seems almost childish and conservative to the Imperium of Man and its brutal, hate-filled rule. An enemy was deserving of any amount of scorn, violence and destruction Humanity could think of, and it only served to embolden other parties against the Emperor not be fully enmeshed in the annihilation of foes.
So, when one of these missiles landed, one suspected that that alone would be enough to level Jovor, leave the capital city of Tvola in utter ruins and all defenders and fighters ash in the winds, or their shadows burned permanently onto the walls and sidewalks. However, even minor cities like Jovor, which did not even register as full Hive-Cities, were truly gigantic, almost impossibly so by modern human standards.
Both Deathstrike Nuclear missiles would indeed have a blast radius of 40, but that did not mean the effects would not be felt. Godzilla stood before all the Titans around him, who were busy bringing as many of their Void Shields back online as possible, grinning like mad at them, before releasing a low, hissing laughter, as both struck, and exploded with such force, it might have cracked open the whole planet. A bright flash of destructive light sounded, Marines adjusting their helmets to attune for the visual spectacle and overload, while Guardsmen and those without turned their heads and eyes away. For a moment, all fighting stopped as the twin mushroom cloud rose high above the battlefield, fire and fury tearing through every structure that was left standing among Godzilla and the four Imperators' battle.
It seemed as if the whole city would be vaporized, such as the power and force of the bombs. Everything had seemingly stood still, even Daemons unmoving, merely watching the sheer destruction with their Warp-attuned eyes. The ground level, the sewer level, then the first two Sub-levels that Amelia and her squad had climbed into were destroyed in the immediate area, vaporized and nay rubble caved in. The aftershocks flooded the city, the ground rumbling for miles out, the other Imperial Guard and Astartes forces fighting in Tvola's other cities, Cralis and Tvol, could fee it, the cities shaking to the foundations from the detonation.
Guilliman could only wonder when the radiation would sweep over the city, and begin the slow, gruesome work on every human either, Astartes and mortal alike. As he sat, in the eerie silence of what was once a chaotic battlefield, Kyornstein spoke to him over the Vox networks.
"Imperial Regent. I am not sure how you knew, but the nuclear attack was ingenious." The Arch-Magos remarked, his excitement evident through his robotic voice. "How did you know this would happen?"
"What, Magos?" Guilliman asked, looking to the Greater Daemons and Chaos Lords and Champions surrounding him, turning their attention to him.
"The Radiation from the bomb, it all got sucked into the creature's body." DeBarrik explained, his voice more measured, but no less excited at the discovery. "It is like light being sucked into a black hole. Not a single bit of fallout or radiation is left."
"How...?" He began, before putting it to the back of his mind and aiming at the Sorcerer Teridax, his Heavy Bolters opening fire. He turned on his Vox bead. "Soldiers of the Imperium, continue fighting, Jovor will be ours!"
He did not care that Teridax had dodged through the hail of Bolters, or that the rest of the Chaos forces had already begun to attack, not caring if they were all about to be afflicted with Radiation poisoning. Yurei brought up his Masakiri with both hands, and roared, swinging it down upon the Primarch, as he lifted his blade, deflecting it aside, as more rushed upon him. Dust and debris was thrown all around them, Guardsmen afixing googles and eye-ware on and fighting on, Space Marines wasting no time in leveling their Bolters, Grav-Guns and Flamers, and opening fire. Battle Sisters leveled their flamers and Heavy Meltas, while Exorcists played their music, pipe organs blaring as missiles flew through the air and into Chaos ranks. Skitarii Arc and Galvanic rifle shots burned through the air, cutting through the clouds of ash, smoke and dust all over.
As the battle continued across the city, the center, which was now a blackened, burned crater of what used to be a city was completely obscured. The explosion of the various warheads, two nuclear and one plasma, briefly put them on the back foot, not able to pierce the thick cloud hanging over the place. The three stood with their weapons primed on where Godzilla had been, missiles reloaded, Melta and Gatling blasters cooled and recharged, everything ready to fire off again.
"Perhaps he was vaporized by the nuclear weapon, or absorbed too much?" The Marquis questioned.
"He feeds on it, why would it kill him?" Durvasa questioned in annoyance. "That's like saying Khorne would die if mortals gave him too many skulls."
"Remember when you were a mortal, or part of you was?" Marquis asked, slightly annoyed with the patronizing, arrogant tone. "If that part drank too much water before the fusion, it would kill you. The same logic should apply."
Mallon's pilot interjected. "It has merit. Don't forget how the second one died."
As if to answer their questions, a beam of bright, glowing blue, stronger and fuller then prior beams, and struck Durvasa below the chin, and knocked the Titan completely off its massive fleet, flying several feet into the air, and landing several yards away with a titan crash, kicking up dust and ash in its wake. The other two looked on in shock, as Godzilla burst form the ground, roaring in rage. He smashed his way through any remaining concrete or metal in his way, tearing his way upwards and slamming his feet down. His entire body glowed blue, his fins, eyes, mouth and the crevasses and cracks in his stony hide, and the scar in the center of his chest.
He released another harsh, booming roar. Energy sparked and fizzled all around him, building up further and further. Then, with pillars of white light shooting out of his body and fins, and explosive blast of radiation shot out from all around him, knocking the unprotected Titans back several yards away from, armor shattered and machinery damaged and mangled, all landing on their backs with a thunderous boom that shook the city for miles around.
The sheer force of the nuclear pulse, enhanced by the Deathstrikes, and the hard landing of the three Titans, could be felt through out the city, throwing a few human and Astartes alike into the air, and landing back down, as the rest kept their foot as best they could through the tremors. Yurei turned to the sound, one of his wiry, thin arms throwing up before Guilliman and firing a plague blast of toxic green before that knocked the Primarch and Sicarius down, enabling him an opening to dissipate into the Warp, and move unseen. The Ultramarine Guards and their Primarch did not question things, returning to the fight at hand, as Aruiteriu Yurei moved between the Warp and Realspace. To most, it would've been the blink of an eye, but within the Warp, Aruiteriu was moving quickly, but at his own leisurely pace, thinking over what he might say to what he viewed as 'flesh and blood', in a twisted way.
'Both of us are Sons of the Atom, of the broken little man who made a bomb to incinerate a city then felt sad over his deed,' Aruiteriu chuckled to himself. 'If he could be made to embrace Nurgle's love and joyous decay and fecund rebirth, then I think Grandfather himself will delight in such a delightful family reunion.'
Aruiteriu would have to be careful with how he pushed this plan. Ku'Gath had been so eager to take Ultramar and brew his little Godblight Plague, that he was now within a tree as one of its fruits, contained within a birthing sack. Aruiteriu had waited deep within the garden, helping to tend the tumorous growths and cankers, testing his ability to induce radiation sickness and cancer in the mortals. When the Anathema's little bastard burned through their garden, and left Plaguebearer shattered, and Mortarion undergoing things within Nurgle's thatched-together, broken down house at the center of the Garden that made even Aruiteriu quiver with fear, he had been called up to serve. Yurei had been considered...a reserve member, for when the Leviathan would appear again.
While Aruiteriu's plans centered around the King of the Monsters, he was not so foolish as to move with too much haste. Like those afflicted with the radiation sickness, they could either slowly die from the burns, the cancer and the other symptoms, or quickly rot away as their body broke down and melted. If he rushed into this, it would be him on the gnarl-trees, waiting for Nurgle's forgiveness like Ku'Gath.
'Displacing Rotigus and Ku'Gath both would be a delight for me, but patience is what is needed here.' Yurei thought. 'This beast has resisted prior attempts to corrupt it, rejected the possession of a Greater Daemon of each god, and swam the tides to avoid being trapped in their portions of the Warp. My dear family is too smart to fall so easily to words.'
Too focused on one goal, and you lose sight of the grand picture. And end up displeasing Grandfather.
He popped back into existence, tearing into reality like a maggot ripping free of a bloated carcass to take on its new life outside among the other glorious, beautiful flies. He lumbered about, looking at all the signs of destruction and annihilation here within the crater of the city portion where the Deathstrikes had landed. He so wished the radiation could've spread further outwards, afflicting all the city with sickness, leukemia and cancer. Nurgle would be delighted at the cries for release and an end to the pain.
For now, however, he had to focus on the main goal. Finding his family.
It did not take long, the creature was busy swinging punches and claw strikes into the Marquis of Violations, the Titan seemingly too damaged or stunned to put up a fight for now, as Aruiteriu approached. Even with how large Aruiteriu was compared to humans and Astartes, it was hardly anything worth seeing for a Kaiju in the midst of battle. It was in the middle of one of the swings at the Titan, that Godzilla seemed to catch sight of the Greater Daemon, stopping and turning, looking more confused then angered at the sight of the creature below. He swung the back of his fist one last time into the Titan's armored face, sparks flying from the strike, before standing and lumbering over to the Great Daemon. Yurei swung his Masakiri and placed it upon his shoulder, as he grinned to the Kaiju looming over him.
"Greetings, dear Godzilla! How pleasurable to meet one so tied to my existence." He greeted, giving a mock bow. "We can pass the formalities, I know you can understand me. You are not a mere animal acting on instinct like the lovely little Gyaos birds and such."
Godzilla's eyes narrowed, as it growled and snorted at him, clearly warning him to leave, but Yurei showed no fear at all, simply continuing his speech. "You may not know me, I am Aruiteriu Yurei, Great Unclean One in the service of Nurgle, and I know all about you and your 'clan', so to speak."
"See, it was the first Godzilla, the brother of your father, whose rampage created me. So much suffering and pain lead to my birth," He declared, gesturing to his bloated, burned and tumor-ridden form, as his fang-filled mouth bent into a wider smile. "We could be considered cousins, in a sense."
Godzilla snarled, lips peeling back to show row after row of teeth, and Yurei remained unperturbed. "But see, I am a loving family member. I wish to give you the chance to join us in the Garden of Nurgle, under his fetid embrace. I know you are lonely, driven so long from Earth and the rest of your Defender kaiju. Mothra, Anguirus, all of them, now separated."
"It doesn't have to be this way. By giving himself to Nurgle, Mortarion, Son of the Man in Gold who banished you and yours, found the soul of his adoptive father, to keep for himself," Aruiteriu explained. "Imagine it. You could never be near your adoptive human mother without killing her, and your father melted into nothingness. Under Nurgle's blessings, their souls could be retrieved from the Warp. Nurgle could make her strong enough to withstand your body, your father could rejoin you in ruling other monsters. Think of the gifts He offers!"
Godzilla stood for a moment, not even reacting. He did not blink, growl or even seem to breath, just glaring down at the Great Unclean One for a moment. Not even Yurei's Daemonic gifts and powers could get a read on the inner turmoil and feelings of the King of Monsters. He hoped that meant he was considering it.
'Family has always been this one's weakness.' Yurei thought, nodding slightly to himself. 'Perhaps the promise of reunion was all he needed..."
Godzilla, in an instant, without any sound or warning, raised his fist and swung it down with all his might, splattering Aruiteriu's rotting, pus-filled remains across the ground, pestilent slime and innards smeared across the Kaiju's fist, as the Great Unclean One was sent back into the Warp, too stunned and shocked by the suddenness of the attack to even speak or scream in rage and disbelief. Godzilla flicked his wrist twice, trying to clean the putrid Daemon's remains off his hand, as Mallon and Durvasa had risen to their feet, the ground shuddering from their monolithic footfalls, before a barrage of Gatling and Vulcan Bolter rounds struck into his hide.
Even without his enhanced boost in strength and power, they wouldn't have done much to penetrate, Godzilla turning fully and charging, a mad grin on his face as he bore down on them. Mallon waited as the Monster closed in, sparks flickering and flying from the machine's various body parts, while the organic pieces were split open at various places, pus and blood dripping out, thick and nearly blackened. In other parts, clouds of fat, black flies buzzed out of the cracks in the organic pieces, forming clouds around the mutilated mixture of flesh and machinery. Even Godzilla, who had faced Hedorah and seen the aftermath of two Gyaos finding their way into a school, found his stomach churning at the sight and stench. He kept up the charge, getting close, just in time for Mallon to raise the Hellstorm canon and fire it at Godzilla's face, striking the right side of his head and knocking the creature backwards, roaring in pain. As he struggled to get his footing back Durvasa fired a barrage of missiles and laser rounds into the beast from their carapace weapons, hitting the beast and knocking him over.
Godzilla did not waste a second getting back up, firing his beam, and striking at both Titans, explosions tearing through their forms as he did. He could see their armor weakening, their inner workings starting to fail and collapse. It filled him with a great joy to see it happening. He had a dislike for machines, and for these Warp tainted husks, a hatred for them. To level their machines and see them reduced to scrap, was the most fun he had in centuries. Of course, he wouldn't let go for much longer. He could resist corruption and injury, but didn't want to push his luck with Chaos.
So focused was he on killing them, that he did not even realize the right side of his face was almost completely disintegrated by Mallon's Hellstorm shot. A loud snap as bone grew back into position, flesh, muscle and tendons snapped and stretched back into position. His eye filled in and repaired itself, as he closed in on the Nurglite Titan. Another barrage of missiles and Laser rounds hit him, Godzilla closing, jumping up a few feet into the air and swinging a punch into the Titan's face, cratering the right side of his face with a metallic crunch, metal bending and folding in. The Plague Titan stumbled back, puss leaking from the broken metal plate.
Both Plague Canon and Hellstorm fired, Godzilla bounding through the attacks, and heading right for the Corrupted Titan. He fired a short of atomic energy at the Titan, forcing it backwards again, before slamming into it shoulder-first and, as it struggled to regain footing, grabbed it by the 'neck' and one of its shoulders, and turned on his heel, throwing the Titan into the ground, gaping wound in its side still visible. It was at that moment, the Titan Mallon, who had thought itself so mighty, powerful beyond the will of even most Chaos Lords, and one of the most deadly instruments of Nurgle, felt fear.
Durvasa and the Marquis, rejoined by Magnifica Loci, stood back, the former two slowly trudging away to get some distance, as Magnifica spoke in surprise.
"We should be pushing our attack, what are you doing?" The Titan demanded.
"Mallon is finished, let the beast claim one of us," The Marquis replied uncaring. "Hopefully, the overloaded reactor will take the creature with him."
As they stood back, Godzilla swung down on the Titan, tearing into the hole he had already made, tearing into rotted, decaying flesh, machinery and wiring. Mallon's central intelligence, the mass of Titan crew, Greater Daemon and Machine Spirit screaming as one the entire time.
"No! No, damn you! Stop the beast! You fools cannot let us die!" Mallon screamed through the Vox Channels, the Warp, and whatever other channels available. "You idiots, shoot it down! Kill the beast and send him to the Warp!"
Godzilla reared his head back, fins glowing, radiation flaring from his body in waves, before lunging forward, a thermonuclear blast erupting from his jaws and spearing through Mallon's body, anything left in the way melting and vaporizing in moment. Cracks began to break out across the Titan's body, blue energy and power breaking through the hull of the machine. The begging and bargaining had turned to inarticulate screams of terror.
The beam of radiation finally struck against one of the plasma reactors within, and destroyed it in an instant, a massive explosion tearing through the center of the Titan, and erupting all around, a brilliant display of blue and red, much of the Titan's corrupted frame vaporized in an instant. For the soldiers below, they had to avert their eyes again, as if a star had been born on the very surface of Tvola, and tore through everything around it. For a moment, there was nothing but light, a burning, horrific light that would've blinded any foolish enough to look at it, at so close a range.
The roar of the explosion, mixed with the screams and yells of defiance and rage from the possessing Daemon and the corrupted crew of the Titan, sent back to the Warp, to the Garden of Nurgle itself, to account for their failures to their already disgruntled master. They would join Ku'Gath and other failures on the gnarled, twisted trees on the edges, forever waiting for forgiveness in the timeless garden.
At last, it seemed to end, the horrific display of noise and light dying off, as Godzilla stood over the blackened, ruined hulk, most of its body destroyed beyond recognition and utterly shattered, only a broken skeleton, at best, remained of the Titan, its towering carapace structure, one of its arms, and what remained of its legs, smoking and burning in the ash of Jovor. Godzilla stood over the Titan, kneeling over it slightly like a predator inspecting its kill, the front of its body red and burned, smoke still rising from its form, muscle partially exposed on parts of its arms, face and all around, and its eyes melted from the intense heat, now merely liquid dripping from the empty sockets.
Godzilla rose slowly, a low, gurgling sound that approximated a warning growl sounding, as it slowly stood over the kill, then turned to the other Titans that remained, flesh quickly covering muscle and regrowing over it, the same blackened, molted hide that had carried the King into battle regrowing in full as he turned. His eyes regrew and popped back into existence, Godzilla shaking himself for a moment, excess skin discarded, as he straightened, and roared at the three Titans that remained.
His roar was drier, almost hollow sounding, from his vocal cords having to regrow, but it carried the same effect. A challenge to those that dared intrude, and a warning to all life to not get in his way.
It was a challenge few living things could go against.
