Chapter 2 Roboto's Birthday
Orko was in his room fixing up a few things. "Thanks for your help Roboto, sometimes I have trouble keeping a lot my things in order, in my hat," Orko said. "Now I can put the stuff in my hat in a better order. But it is kind of hard due to when I move sometimes it still causes things to get jumbled," he said.
"Perhaps up you can use one of your magic spells, to keep the stuff where you put them in your hat, with out getting jumbled when you move," Roboto suggested.
"Afraid not Roboto, if I did a spell like that I would need another spell to be able to pull something out of it when I open it to get something." Orko said. "Plus due to my wand being broken doing a special spell that requires finesse like that won't go well, especially since I am on Eternia and my magic doesn't work well here," he said. "So in other words it will cause a problem." He said.
"That is very weird," Roboto said.
"Well that is the way things are for me," Orko said.
"You should've learned control by now you have been here almost nine years," Roboto said.
"It is not as simple as you think," Orko said.
"Why might I ask?" Roboto asked.
"I will explain to everyone later," Orko said. "Because it is a very difficult thing to explain," he said. "So I will explain it much later to everyone, when I find a good way how you explain it to all of you," he told him.
"Fair enough," Roboto said.
After Orko put his things back in his hat both him and Roboto left the room. Orko was in the library with Roboto.
"Hey Orko can you come here for a second," Man at arms said to Orko in a quiet voice.
Orko came to him and followed him to his work shop. The others were there too. "Tomorrow is a big day today," Man at arms said. "It will be the day I invented Roboto many years ago, so tomorrow is his birthday." he said. "So I want plan a surprise party for him," he said.
"That's a great idea he is my brother even if he is a robot," Teela said.
"We all have to do something to help get ready," Man at arms said. "Adam you help chef Alan with the cake you have a talent in the kitchen," he said. "Teela you help with the decorating," he said. "Andra you help with the music," he said. "Damien you help me get his present ready," he said.
"What do you want me to do?" Orko asked.
"Orko you are to keep Roboto out of the palace and distracted tomorrow until 5:00 pm. That is when everything will be ready by then," Man at arms said.
"Got it," Orko said.
The next day Roboto was awake and getting ready to have a look around. "Hey Roboto," Orko said. "I want you come along with me I am going to explore the forest and look for things to make my potions with so I would very much like it if you came along,' he said. Orko knew he was only saying this to make sure Roboto stayed distracted and out of the palace. He had his magi watch set for five o'clock pm.
"Um okay," Roboto said.
They headed into the forest. "Now let's start looking." Orko said.
"I wonder what kind of potion are you working on," Roboto said.
"Well Roboto I am working on a few, mainly trying to work on one that can get rid of stains," Orko said.
"Why do you want to make that?" Roboto said. "That is what the washing machine is for," he said.
"Well you spill kelpa berries on your robe! That is a tough stain, it can't really come out of the wash that easily." Orko said. "Some of the things I work with don't wash out easily," he said. He knew that was a fact but he was doing what he can to keep Roboto distracted.
Adam was helping make the birthday cake back at the palace. "There we go all finished," Adam said.
"Excellent work Adam it is all ready to go," Chef Alan said.
"Good thing too," Adam said.
Andra just finished setting up the music and Teela finished with decorations. Then Damien and Man at arms were getting present ready.
"I wonder how Orko is doing with Roboto's distraction?" Damien said.
"I think he is making sure to give Roboto a handful," Man at arms said.
Meanwhile in the forest Roboto and Orko were looking around. "Okay I found a few things," Orko said.
"Can we head back now? I got a bad feeling in my circuits," Roboto said.
"Not yet Roboto their are few things I need to find still." Orko said.
Then the heard roaring. "Uh oh that doesn't sound good." Orko said.
"I told you so," Roboto said when the creature came up. Orko and Roboto were trying to avoid it.
It stopped chasing them as soon as they were a certain distance away. "That's strange doesn't want to eat us?" Orko asked.
"No but it seems to want to keep us away," Roboto said. They came closer to the creature. "It's okay we won't hurt you." he said. Then a smaller creature came up it looked hurt. "Of course this mother creature was merely trying to protect her baby." he said. He proceed to pull the thorn out of the baby's paw. Orko gave Roboto a bandage to fix the paw up with. "There you go good as new," Roboto said.
Things seemed calm for a while they were still looking around. "Look who it is Orko and Roboto," Trapjaw said.
"Yes talk about an opportunity," Clawful said.
They appeared in front of them. "Oh no Trapjaw and Clawful." Orko said.
"This is a problem, too bad He man doesn't know we are here," Roboto said.
"You two are coming with us." Clawful said.
"Wanna bet?" Orko asked making a vine wrap around Trapjaw and trip him.
"You little pest," Trapjaw said.
Roboto managed to toss Clawful. Clawful made a grab for Orko and Orko sent magic his way and ended up making a puddle instead of doing the same vine trick. That caused Clawful to slip and fall into the mud. "That was mistake that turned into a lucky break." Orko said.
Then Clawful and Trapjaw were about to attack again when roaring was heard. It was creature from before and it attacked Trapjaw and Clawful. "Looks like it is repaying our kindness." Roboto said.
"I had enough of this Clawful let's get back to snack mountain," Trapjaw said.
"I agree with you for once tin brain, let's get out of here," Clawful said running. They took off for snake mountain.
"I am glad that is over with, thank you for your help," Roboto said to the creature.
An alarm was beeping and Orko looked at the time. "We need to head back now," Orko said.
"Why? I thought you had more things to gather," Roboto said.
"Trust me," Orko said. Orko lead Roboto back to the palace. They came into a room and there was all the royal family members and the masters of the universe.
"Happy birthday Roboto!" They said.
"Wow, amazing," Roboto said.
"Orko you did a good job at keeping Roboto out of the palace and distracted," Man at arms said.
"But why are you late though?" Adam asked.
"Oh Roboto and I had a little trouble with Trapjaw and Clawful," Orko said.
"Are you both alright?" Teela asked.
"Yes," Orko said.
"Affirmative," Roboto said.
"We were able to send them running thanks to a creature we helped in the forest," Orko said. "It sent them running," he said.
"I am glad this was a surprise thank you all this is the best birthday ever," Roboto said.
Everyone began to enjoy the party after that.
"In today's story you read how Orko and Roboto helped a creature in need, and how Orko managed to keep something a secret." Teela said. "The creature helped Roboto and Orko in return for their kindness," she said. "Sometimes helping someone can someday lead to them helping you," she said. "Secrets are fine to keep but keep in mind there are times when it is okay to tell a secret and times not to tell a secret. You got use your best judgement on whether or not to tell a secret." she said. "Until next time," she said.
