The 6th Season of the Sailor Moon Saga
Chapter 22
"it's Our Era Together"
"Wake up, Sayer. It's a big day today for us." Terry's usually calm voice was excited and full of energy as he shakes his lazy brother, who had in fact stayed up playing video games, the coffee and other stimuli of the day had kept him awake most of the night.
Sayer groans, turns over, and pulls a pillow over his dark head, trying to ignore his big brother's insistent calling.
"Sayer." The tall young man, trying to keep his temper, expels air through his lips in frustration. Terry usually gave in at about this point—they went through this routine nearly every morning for as long as he could remember—letting Sayer sleep for another fifteen or twenty minutes at least.
But not today. Today was different.
"Wake up, please! We have much to attend to, and no time for dawdling." Terry uncharacteristically yanks off Sayer's covers, none so tenderly shaking him as well.
"All right. All right, I'm awake." Sayer sits up groggily, blinking to see Terry fully dressed and combed, in a fancy business suit.
"Got a hot date with Susie this early?" Sayer blinks, wondering what his tall brother was ready so early and dressed so spiffily for, in his green tie, orange suit jacket and tan pants, as he picks up the alarm clock next to his bed.
"6:30 AM!" Sayer rarely got himself up before nine or ten these days, always having been a night owl, and he slams down the clock, grabbing up his covers again.
"I'm going back to sleep. It's WAY TOO early." He shuts his eyes tightly, bundled up again, leaving Terry standing there dumbfounded as to how to get him out of the bed.
"Oh, look. I think I see a red Ferrari pulling up right now…" Robin's smoky voice pops in the room from where he had just emerged from his only mildly slept in bed. He crosses it to peer out Sayer's window of their new penthouse apartment abode into the street.
That did it.
"WHAT!?" Sayer jumps up, the fear of Alex's wrath to fall upon him if he wasn't up and ready more than motivating.
"Thank you, Robin." Terry was glad to finally have Sayer up and about, even if it took a little deception to do it.
"No problem." With a wink, Robin calmly tosses his own long hank of silvery hair over his shoulder for it to just fall perfectly in place, like magic.
He was fresh from his shower—during which a certain mermaid songstress across the miles, after wanting to hold Robin's hand, and doing so on the astral plane they shared to his satisfaction—put in one more encore performance. It was an even more sultry siren song, a 'Come to my Dreams' aura via their psychic link, by Robin's early morning request to shower by.
"I confess I want you to tease my dreams…all night long 'til morning light…"
"Ahem!" The once unaffected, cool idol was getting pretty deep submerged in the vivid memory of the hot shower he just took in their penthouse suite. With her requested ballad, Michelle had made her cascading presence as necessary as the running water over Robin's uncovered, vulnerable, naked soul.
Why should I be up at this ungodly hour of the morning, before dawn, and not Sayer, too? Though he was enjoying himself immensely long past midnight last night, up mentally canoodling with Michelle, Robin was always ready to share any exhausted misery with his argumentative brother. The two give one another sour expressions as Robin lazily leans against Sayer's dresser.
"Why this early anyway? What are we doing today, Ter?" Sayer grumbles as he finally pulls himself out of bed. A bit ticked to be tricked, the athletic teen wearing nothing save a small pair of army camouflage briefs, gathers up some of his clothes as he heads for the shower.
"Well, I've made several appointments with talent agents and record labels to meet with so we can start up as the 'Three Lights' again." Terry explains.
"What's the rush? Shouldn't we just get settled in for awhile without all of that demanding scheduling stuff again?" Sayer grabs a pair of his jeans out of a drawer, to which Terry takes and refolds, handing him a more dignified three piece suit out of the closet instead.
Sayer shrugs as he leans against the tower of Terry and starts pulling his supplied tan trousers on.
"We have to be able to keep up our lifestyle. There's not much left in the bank, after this apartment, the bills for our current expenditures of new clothing and necessities…" Terry begins to tick off the burgeoning list of expenses already incurred in only a week's time back on earth for they three.
As he steadied his teetering, more reckless brother both physically and mentally. Terry was trying to convey the importance of what they must next do to fulfill obligations responsibly.
"—Not to mention that money-eating car you bought for a certain disagreeable someone." Robin complains sourly of what he deemed a frivolous expense, for that woman in particular, as he said "someone" with a nasty look in his pale green eyes which spoke volumes of his relationship with Alex at this point.
"Hey, now that we've got this cool pad to live and eat in—I'll pitch in with some good, economical home cooking, just you wait and see! Plus we have the bonus of that sedan 'Chelle said we could use indefinitely, with enough decent clothes to get us anywhere. So, if we just all cut down on the buying junk for a while, I'm sure we've still got enough left in our account to tide us over for a few weeks anyway, before we have to do anything drastic like work right away." Perhaps hypothetically pledging not to over spend anymore beyond the three wandering shooting Starlights' jobless budget, Sayer goes to hang the uncomfortable suit jacket back up in the closet.
"No, Sayer, I require to restart this enterprise immediately." Terry not so patiently stretches his long arm into the closet and hands Sayer back the rejected brown suit jacket and yellow tie.
"Why?! What's the rush all of a sudden?" Sayer says with a sigh as he rebuttons the vest he had been just about to tug of. He could inwardly feel an ulterior motive linked to his brother's drive.
"I simply wish to have the means to support us well." Terry tries to lead them into his plan easily.
"Why now?" Robin, just finishing tying his own neat tie in a Windsor knot, was looking too fine in the mirror in his own pale magenta vest and navy suit jacket to desire removing it anytime soon. But even he was now also growing a bit suspicious of Terry's motives as the sleek model carelessly plops on the edge of Sayer's still unmade bed.
"I want to marry Susan." Terry Starr's words ring strong and true, but it was the confidence with which he stated it that knocks his two brothers off balance. Sayer actually drops the suit still on its hanger to the floor, along with his floored jaw.
"What?! You just met the girl!" First reaction surprised—though at second, deeper thought he knew he shouldn't have been—Robin exclaims at the sudden news. His mouth was also hanging open, like Sayer, at the radical idea for the three tight-knit guardian Star Soldiers from a far distant galaxy to so quickly entertain.
I sense how deep your bond is with Sailor Pluto—now strengthened through the winds of Time, Maker. But marriage to a Guardian of this solar system would solidify the fact we three are never going back to our Princess Fireball…
The single-minded Star of Healer once would have found that very thought abhorrent and immoral, as a devout Sailor Soldier to his Princess. But maybe, like Terry, a new Princess had claimed his heart and soul even more so here on earth whom Robin would someday pledge to spend his forever with…
"She is the one, Robin. I think you of all people can understand that." Terry pulls at Robin's heartstrings inferring about Michelle, recognizing how deep the two psychics' relationship had already become in this short period of time.
Yes, I do understand…Neptune and I were destined long before the stars…Now I know why I was born…
For her…
Robin's own mint green eyes go glassy in the mirror's looking glass as he hears Michelle's tender soul echo in his no longer lonely being.
"Yeah, but…marriage, Ter?" Less assured than either of his comrades, overconfident in all things save love, Sayer's eyes go big and serious at the huge, monstrous step for his nineteen-year old brother. "Isn't that a little…drastic?" The wolf definitely was not the marrying type and could not imagine why his brother would be either.
Especially since Terry already had everything he wanted with Susie—she not being the demanding, complicated type like Alex.
"I see no point in waiting." Terry smiles, trying to get them both to understand his feelings. "I love her more than life itself."
Just seeing the determination in his brother's resolved eyes, sensing the true sentiment running deep in his poetic soul, Robin jabs Sayer in the gut as the obtuse young fighter was about to question Terry on this landmark decision again.
"cough cough All right, then Ter. You're right. Susie's a great lady. I like her. And we'll really welcome her, like one of us, into our close family." Exchanging a nod with Robin, Sayer gives in with his questions and smiles, knowing Terry would probably enjoy the rigors of married life. Although this rock star himself still considered the idea of intimidating responsibility and utter commitment which marriage called for totally out of the question.
AHH! Way too scary!
More mature Robin places a hand on his tall brother's shoulder and exchanges a nod in agreeing consent with Terry. He was showing he realized the same that Terry was feeling with his own special partner whom Robin already felt enduringly connected with.
"So what do we have to do to get the ball rolling for you, pal?" Pushing aside his own doubts on the subject as he receives Terry's grateful smile, Sayer scoops up that blasted suit from its wrinkled state on the floor and dusts it off.
Then he yanks it on with panache and a wink as he stands next to Robin. Smiling that dazzling smile, Sayer slaps his palm on Terry's other shoulder, the three young Starlight Soldiers forming a united, handsome trio as they now had a new purpose and mission to carry on.
And take on the world for the women they loved in the process, with a starline song in their hearts moving towards this new era together.
WHOOSH.
The sheer thrill of flying around by the seat of one's pants around the racetrack was palpable as the deafening winds roar in the automotive aftermath.
WHIRR!
Stock car after stock car race by, though none of them could even come close to the leader—that vehicle was almost a whole lap ahead of the others.
WHIZZ.
The burning smell of oil and grease was in the air, and the raucous crowd could be just about heard above the noisy screeching of the tires as the final lap begins. The other cars catch up but the lead one was still well ahead of the pack. The bright red stock car was already moving at over 150 MPH around the lap, accelerating like the wind even more so in the last 200 meters, as the exhilaration of seeing that oh-so-familiar blue checkered flag flapping in the wind pushes the driver on. The machine explodes with new speed, breaking records, as the race car zooms by the finish, the checkered flag waving its victory salute.
The crowd roars in excitement as the red car comes to a screeching stop. The driver gets out, pulling her hot red helmet off while waving triumphantly to them. Involuntarily she was scanning the crowd for someone in particular, though she didn't know why, but wanted for some reason, to be here.
Dashing up the award podium, Alex Sokova accepts the congratulations and accolades from the racing committee and her fellow competitors (those who weren't pig-headedly prejudiced loser jerks against women in the sport, that is) adding another winning trophy to her already huge collection.
After the ruckus winds die down, the crowds slowly disappear, and Alex returns to her garage to give her latest stock car a good look over and get it ready for the next race. For there always was a "next race," as international champion racer Alex Sokova was in high demand this past season.
That's when she sees the shadow of someone seated in the driver's seat. Angrily thinking it some pushy spectator—or worse, a thief—she fearlessly throws open the door, ready to give the creepy dark shaded intruder a piece of her mind…
"Hey there, winner babe." Sayer winks, lifting his sunglasses and pointing a gun finger at her playfully. "Nice racing. Love the red car you raced for me." The conceited lout smiles, giving her his wolfish eyebrows as he lifts his sunglasses up, the 'stiff' suit jacket long ditched as he was more simply attired, tie-less now in that black, unbuttoned vest
"What are you doing here?" She barks, taken off guard, and more than a little miffed he had skipped his commitment to be in attendance until the race was all over.
"Didn't you get the note? I said I'd be here." Sayer says as he slides out of the tight compartment of the stock car.
"Yeah, I got it." Alex nods, smiling to herself as she recalls the illegibly scribbled note left taped to the apartment door, telling her that the three of them had to 'go meet music producers' and 'other boring old guys like that.'
Finding it really quite funny that Sayer had obviously written it in his scrawled hand, promising that he'd come, even 'if he had to jump out the top floor window of the twenty-story building of the corporate office' the Three Lights had been headed for.
Which the athletic star kinda did when no one was looking—especially to avoid a criticizing Robin.
But Alex only half expected him to keep the promise, not trusting this playboy for anything—quite yet. Trust was a hard commodity for a hardened soldier like her to have.
"I knew you'd win! Wow, girl, can you drive! Did you hear me in crowd? Even if the only seat left was way in the back, I was the loudest one yelling for you. I wonder why everyone was staring when I shouted: 'WIPE THEIR LAP ASSES, SOKOVA!'" He shouts his war cry again, the empty mechanic's garage echoing his strong clear voice, making Alex laugh.
"You're crazy." She chuckles with curious eyes at the embarrassing mental scene he had evoked out there. But Alex felt a little proud inside that Sayer liked her racing, something she never thought any chauvinist man would abide of his wom—of the woman he was…
Of me.
Guess we might work because you aren't—strictly speaking—one of those male sexist losers, my Star Fighter…Alex laughs at herself now, too, not yet knowing what to make of their convoluted relationship.
"I like your outfit, too, Ally." Sayer looks approvingly up and down her tight-in-some-angles, red and white jumpsuit. "So-kova." He smiles at her last name written on the back, touching each letter of her last name. "Al-ex…" He then traces the name emblazed on the front of her suit breast area too, more languidly slow.
"Starr." Alex says in almost a whisper, her voice a riddle.
"Yeah, Ally?" He looks up into her eyes, hoping for…
…for something.
"Get. Your. Hand. Off. My. Chest. Right. Now." Each syllable was evenly spaced and thoroughly threatening, this was her place of work and no longer beach playtime.
"Oh, yeah." Sayer giggles guiltily, pulling his hand away quickly. He then turns as red as her bright racing outfit, and she almost laughs again, recalling that unexpected, adorable bashfulness in him, too.
"So..." Alex composes herself, clearing her throat. "How did your day go?" She retrieves the trophy she had put down at the front of the garage gate as she closes it now behind them.
"Ohh…nothing as exciting as this was." Sayer takes the golden trophy and plays with it like a child with a new toy. "Ter just tried to sign us up with some stuffed shirts, record people and promoters we used to hang with—that kind of thing." He brushes them off.
"But…they didn't want us. Said we were high risk, just taking off like that last time. So we can't find any sponsors. But I'm sure the fans at least will still like us once we find an outlet. After all, this is the event of the year—the Three Lights Big Comeback!" Almost as great a salesman/self-promoter as a singer, Sayer smiles confidently, knowing how popular they were before. And he was only a bit vain that his sex appeal—all three of the more mature young men, for that matter—had only increased since last they were here.
Now if only I can get Ally to see me that way again after I flubbed the beach…
He sighs, gazing at his red racing beauty as they soon speed off in her matching new Ferrari.
With the sun setting on their sixth day back here on earth, Sayer returns with Alex to the Outers' hideaway abode. As she goes to change and shower, Sayer found Terry and Robin already there, discussing the weighty topic of their future career here on this planet with Michelle, as Susan and Tara cook dinner in the kitchen with Michelle popping in every so often to check on (and deftly repair) their 'progress' with the meal.
"You still moaning on about that, Ter?" Sayer comes in with a tease, plopping down on the couch next to his anxious 'big' brother.
"I'm not 'moaning,' as you say, Sayer. I'm simply…concerned…that we could not find a single record label or movie studio that would hire us with a permanent contract, due to our lack of cogent stability." Terry rebuts seriously, feeling a little depressed that their abysmal business prospects were thin.
"Yeah. I guess you would be concerned, considering what you've got planned riding on our raking in the big bucks again." Sayer winks, making Terry clear his throat in a warning so as not to spill the beans—not quite yet, about a certain reason why his need for a stable income was so urgent.
"Well, what can we do about it? If they don't want us, they don't want us. It's their loss." Robin shrugs, having a very high opinion of their—especially of his—stellar star-studded abilities. And he was none too eager for the demanding work anyway.
"We need to do something." Terry says, his genius mind trying to devise some new ideas to get his plan in action, looking to Sayer and Robin as well, the three of them in deep thought.
"Why don't you—" Michelle suddenly looks up from reading a chic fashion magazine on the settee where she had been mildly eavesdropping, to break into the three men's somber consternation. Something in the tone of her voice immediately calls their attention—Robin in particular having a sneaking suspicion tickling the corners of his mind with Michelle's persuasive thoughts.
"Why don't you have a concert to prove to these producers and studios that you are a viable commodity, and still have what it takes to be idols?" She offers in her all-knowing, extremely officious way of speaking as her fingers toy with loosening Robin's fuchsia tie.
"You certainly still do have everything it takes." Susan comments adoringly through the open partition in the kitchen, her eyes on Terry, causing Tara to giggle as she sets the table.
"Do we now?" Terry smiles at Susan, her suddenly shy eyes making it hard for him to keep on the subject, but then he quickly turns back to Michelle.
"That is a valid assumption and a very astute idea, Miss Moreau. However, we simply are already overextended and do not have the funds to promote our own concert. It costs a great deal of money, we would need a sponsor. But even those seem few and far between for us these days." Terry sighs, the thought of his goal being postponed quite unsatisfactory.
"Don't be silly!" Michelle bursts out giggling. "You already have a willing sponsor." She smiles brightly, chuckling behind her hand demurely all the while.
"We do?" Robin asks quizzically, that sneaking suspicion crawling right up the hackles of his neck as Michelle coyly flips the cute silver hairs back there as she caresses his exposed neckline.
"Of course you do, Robin dear." Michelle sidles to him over on the loveseat even closer, her hand fluttering to her own chest in poseur, show-offish mode.
"Me."
Behaving affectedly, the striking female looks to each of the three attractive men's faces, her own filled with the pride of knowing how her financial status was such a boost to them all.
"Miss Moreau, it is very kind of you, but a concert does require an enormous sum that we can't possibly ask you to—" Terry starts to protest her magnanimous offer.
"Mr. Starr, I am going to sponsor your next concert. I'm not asking you, I'm telling you. You three will be singing on stage for my pleasure." Michelle puts on her haughtiest air, relishing every moment of being these three boys' benefactress, especially one silver haired keytarist who receives signals from more than her demanding eyes.
"There's no arguing with her when she gets like this. Trust me." Emerging from being freshly showered and dressed, Alex smirks as she leans against the living room wall. She had been watching the scene from the hall for a few moments, bemused, knowing how her Michelle could be quite overpowering—when she wanted to be.
"I know another stubborn woman like that myself." With a smirk sent in her direction, Sayer interjects, to which Alex gives him the evil eye in return, crossing her arms.
"Looking in the mirror at night too much perhaps, Fighter?" Raised brow Alex's sharp remark retorts, garnering his pursed lips at the pair's former contention.
"It's the perfect way for a comeback. You'll see." Michelle insists, standing up as Tara waves them all into the kitchen for dinner.
Sayer speeds past like a bullet, more than ready for one of their home cooked meals again.
"Miss Moreau." Swallowing his male pride, Terry finally releases a truly grateful, and somewhat relieved smile, realizing that there really was no other feasible solution in sight for them. "You are a very generous and gracious woman to do this all for us." He takes her hand, brushing it gentlemanly with his lips.
"Oh, I'm not doing this only for you three out of benevolence." Michelle's voice turns suddenly sultry, her sea of blue eyes flashing at a certain silver target.
"I do expect for myself some, shall we say, 'gratitude' 'in repayment." Her eyes dance in delight at Robin who blinks his wide green orbs at her openly flirtatious, highly expectant words he dared not disappoint.
And he doesn't.
Hear me, in signals over your ocean... You are my mermaid muse Michelle. After all, this is our era together…
Through their mental bond, the shining star that burned in Robin Starr instantly starts composing the new song of his heart. His inherent electromagnetic conductivity draws Michelle close, inviting her warm sea breeze in…
Michelle giggles, blissfully pleased her openhanded offer was so satisfyingly accepted, taking her sensitive Robin's compliant arm and leading him into the kitchen to enjoy some choice sweet desserts together before the meal as Terry chuckles nervously while he glances over at Alex's suspiciously smirking face.
"I hope gratitude is all she's expecting from that little shrimp in there." Determined that simple appreciation was all Michelle would be receiving in payment, the whirlwind who was Uranus follows her flirty friend and acquiescent conquest to the dinner table.
Terry smiles to himself, truly grateful for Michelle's largesse and friendship, now giving he and his brothers the chance to start over again. His dream for himself with Susan was slowly coming into focus again.
Now it's up to us to make this concert a success. Terry resigns to himself as he joins the rest of the gang for the delicious Italian stuffed shells dinner made by Susan and Tara (with Michelle overseeing.) But you are worth every bit of it, my lady. He smiles at her when Susan very wifely serves out the meal, leading them all to say grace, after which the shy female returns demure glances at him across the table as they ate and talked of nothing else but the upcoming event planned.
A frantic week of song writing, coupled together with relearning and rehearsing their varied instruments and everything else involved with preparing a concert—and a good one at that—Terry, Sayer and Robin Starr were soon back into the swing of things. Multiple trio group songs and a solo composition penned by each Three Light member was at last complete, and they were ready to relaunch the Three Lights into worldwide super stardom once again.
Michelle's generous sponsoring allowed for a flood of advertisement, not to mention the girls (Lita, Rei, Amy, and Mina—really, go-getter Mina!) lending a hand in that department as well, word of mouth into the right ears was as powerful as any television spot.
All this results in a more than curious crowd filling the open air stadium to the brim on this anxious night of their first concert in front of a live audience in over a year and a half—enough time to leave any teen idol rusty, but these three shining specimens were more than mere seasonal idols—they were Stars.
Backstage, clad in their trademark fire red, warm yellow and icy blue suits, Sayer, Terry, and Robin await the first curtain call for their moment back in the spotlight, under this bright July moonlight.
Knock knock knock!
"Come in." Robin answers the three small taps on their dressing room door, his inner sense already aware of just who was on the other side of the door.
"Is it allowed for a lady promoter to come in to the dressing room of three gorgeous men to wish them 'good luck?'" Michelle giggles flirtatiously as she opens the door, looking quite lovely in a tea length summer gown.
"Sure it is!" Sayer, full of anxious energy, jumps up from his reclined position, flirting right back—Michelle Moreau and dressing rooms going quite well together, as he remembered two years ago very well…
"If you can find any gorgeous men, that is." Alex, too, recollects the past incident with a disgruntled smirk as she follows Michelle in, looking rather dashing herself in a no-nonsense sequined vested black and white suit. Susan comes quietly in behind her, donning a slinky black off the shoulder evening mini dress, the sight making Terry's eyes widen in obvious approval.
"I've been told before we fit that bill to a sexy 'T.'" Said in his most sultry tone, Sayer teases back, smoothing his endlessly askew bangs, to not much improvement as he flaunts the rest of his stuff.
"I'll give you a 'T,' you tedious, twisted trant." Armed with choice lettered terms, Alex awards Sayer's tight red pants backside an equally reddening, tempestuous smack. But the instantly squinting at the pain, cagey reaction sends his long flowing, dark blue ponytail to flip up in her face as Sayer's lower body dances right under her nose, the whole, rhythmically wriggling red hot package turning Alex on before the show even started.
"You certainly are all gorgeous and sexy." Her own fancies satisfactorily met in her stunner of a sleek model, Michelle shimmies up behind Robin, who was scrutinizing himself in the mirror at the dressing room center.
"I think I'm going to be jealous of all those girls out there screaming for you tonight." She says coyly, leaning over his pale blue shoulder in the mirror.
'Very jealous of the ones who gain your attention.' Her mind reiterates in an even more possessive tone, ruffling Robin's already tensed mind further as she runs 'smoothing' fingers along his soft silver hair.
"I won't find anyone out there as mesmerizing as you, Michelle Moreau." Robin found inner peace to calm any remainder of stage nervousness in the tranquility of his partner's beautiful soul linked with his.
"Don't you forget that, my cool star beauty." Neptune's psyche coos at being so finely petted by her receptive fellow psi, breathing a whispered nibble on his ear.
"I doubt you'll ever let me…" Robin's ear receives a punishing bite for his little saucy mental remark back. But it was thought with a knowing smile that was well aware of Michelle's reaction, which also enjoyed the punishing gnaw with baited breath to start his cool music machine off on the right track.
"It is very crowded out there. Every seat is filled. Some are even standing." Susan says softly to Terry on the other side of the dressing room. "You were very popular with the young ladies, weren't you?" Susan suddenly feels pangs of jealousy herself that desirable Terry was going to be showcased in front of all those adoring women again.
"As long as I'm popular with you, my lady." Terry lifts her pouty chin, erasing away all her thoughts of envy with a sweet farewell kiss, just as a stage hand calls back that everything was ready.
"Always." Susan whispers as Terry regretfully leaves her lips, with a hand gently caressing her tender cheek.
"We'll be right up front so—" Michelle gives up her endless straightening of Robin's silk shirt and smiles excitedly, pulling him into a quick peck on the cheek.
To which Robin surprises yet again with a swiftly maneuvered move of his own to capture Michelle's lips fully with that every bit as extrasensory kiss of gratitude she deserved for making this dream possible for them.
"Well…! Good luck!" Producer of today's concert Michelle was pleased as punch breathlessly smiling from ear to ear as Robin lets her go—physically, anyway. She enthusiastically waves to all three of them while she heads towards the door of the dressing room at Alex's firm hand-on-shoulder prompting.
"I believe in you." Her magenta eyes enveloped in his purple ones, Susan kisses the palm of Terry's hand still caressing her cheek, then leaves with Michelle who was holding the door open for her.
"Just don't make fools of yourselves out there." Alex was always ready with oodles of moral support as she looks at Sayer. Then she affectionately tosses his now rather neat slicked curls—which he had been working on smoothing in the mirror after the slap—back into their usual unkempt state.
Just the way she liked them.
"Gee, thanks for that overwhelming vote of confidence." Hands on hips, Sayer twists his lip at her as she follows Susan and Michelle out the door.
"Anytime." Alex carelessly tosses back her hand on her way out, a smirk on her face as she shoves Michelle (who was blowing Robin another kiss) and Susan (whose eyes were sending messages of their own to Terry) out the dressing room door with a deafening slam.
"Are you ready for this, you two?" Taking a deep breath, Terry then looks from Robin to Sayer as he reaches for the doorknob.
"Ready as I'll ever be." Robin nods, with a final glance in the mirror and a smoothing of his refined, silvery hair as he the introvert steels himself to go onstage, but now with a new song in his heart for the new mermaid princess who had stolen it.
"You kidding?" Sayer says in his jauntier, carefree manner. "A crowd full of adoring women throwing themselves at us? I was born ready for that." Winking wolf Sayer Starr confidently strides past first, with Robin Starr going behind him second with his indefinable air of charm and poise, and finally mature and elegant third Light Terry closes the door behind all three of them.
Terry smiles inwardly, grateful that the first part of his plan was about to take flight as the rock star group known as the 'Three Lights' prepare to reclaim this planet's stage.
A flash of bright lights.
Omni-colored rays of blue, purple and green streak across the pitch black stage with only the moon and the night stars as its background. School day friends and old fans alike could be found amidst the noisy crowd—of mostly female onlookers, as predicted—who were all crying and screaming out their particular favorite idol's name, anxiously awaiting the return of the popular group.
Suddenly, a drum begins to rumble and loud music starts to blare—the melody, new to all, but its rhythm energizes the audience as the spotlights beam down their colors on their respective figures, three silhouetted men standing on the darkened stage in a striking pose.
The greenish shaded figure on the left begins to play his keyboard guitar, the tall silhouette on the far right, bathed in violet light strums an electric guitar, as the crimson shadow tightly grips a silvery grey microphone centerstage.
Holding onto the suspense for an extra fermata second, the lead singer signals for the lights to blast on, just in time for him to begin the new song, in the key of D flat major, which they three had just freshly written for this special night:
"Even though I feel I'm being rejected,
My heart inside keeps maturing"
The crowd roars deafeningly, electified to hear Sayer Starr's strong yet silky smooth voice once again.
"As for hiding our hearts away from each other,
Hey, let's just quit that now right here!"
Sayer's deep blue eyes scan the crowd for the sequined vested woman seated in the front row he was aiming his new message at meaningfully. Meeting his eyes, Alex thought she knew to whom this wolf was directing his song this time, and smirks, finding strange pleasure in his dazzling smile back.
"'I love you'—if I say the words that I feel,
Time stops within my heart for you."
Terry's low tenor takes the second verse filled with even more romance and feeling as his gaze lands upon the lady he was singing to, who blushes under his lowered eyes, knowing his serenade was for her and her alone.
"Dawn opens the door and you are my morning,
Inviting the sea breeze in…"
Putting his whole heart and soul into the performance, Robin seemed uncharacteristically full of vibrancy as he almost amorously points his thumb back towards himself. His eyes, his voice, his mind, indeed were all invitingly offering something to Michelle over the smoke-filled ethers. To whit, the aqua lady sponsor nearly swoons in the crowd at her mint eyed cutie, sighing audibly until Alex shoots her a raised eyebrow look, bringing her partner back to her senses.
At least, on the outside.
"See Me—My heart beats in time for you!"
Terry's gentle purple eyes next sear right into Susan's no longer empty, time-tested soul, as if only the two of them were at the massive outdoor event in this ephemeral moment he had written of.
"Hear Me—Signals over the ocean!"
Robin's intense voice rings out emotively with the incredible bond he and Michelle shared, his thoughts swimming in hers in fond recollection of their recent morning spent together when he had penned his lines.
"Touch Me—The strong fresh wind's new-found power…"
Sayer's extended hand seriously reaches straight out towards Alex as he sings to her with everything in him, his wiry arms stretching up to the sky she was so much a part of.
"…Will start to rise!"
He builds and builds his strong voice until his hand snatches into a fist, like he had just caught a starlight tempest in it.
Leaving their positions, the Three Lights begin to dance as well as sing, the rhythmic, undulating movements of their gorgeous, slim bodies making the girls in the audience scream all the more.
"I won't overlook this!"
"I won't give this up now!"
They sing in unison as they switch places in rhythmic dance choreography, waving their fingers in saucy denial.
"'til I reach this new dream–You are mine!"
The three men sing this powerful music they had composed right from their hearts for this changing time in their lives to the three special ladies raptly watching them from the front row wearing different facial expressions.
"So, I move close to where you are!"
"Now it's our era together!"
This was the title of their latest song, the perfect description of their new and exciting lives where they believed that they have found the other half of their once lonely, wandering star souls.
"I'm not saying yesterday
And not tomorrow.
For this is the moment I've longed for!"
Such meaning in their harmonized lyric, Sayer, Robin and Terry sing as they've never sung before, their voices the perfect blend.
"Yes!"
"This is the happiness that I have
Waited for all my life!"
They each extend their hands towards the crowd, in particular, towards Susan, Michelle and Alex. The genuine honesty behind their words as heartfelt as they once sang for the love of their original Princess, now they were singing for the new loves of their lives, making beautiful music flow straight from their melodic hearts.
The Three Lights strike a stunning ending pose, pyrotechnics exploding behind them with the dazzling letterings of 'THREE LIGHTS NEW ERA' shooting up above the stage as the music stops dramatically and the audience explodes in uproarious applause. The hottest idol group to ever hit the scene was back, even sexier and more mature than before, and every person watching was convinced they were better than ever.
"That new song was really catchy!"
"Wow! What an opening!"
"These guys are hotter than ever! Just listen to the crowd roar!"
"Waahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"
As the blinding spotlights sizzle down, and the Three Lights exit the stage, the four Inner Sailor Scouts of Amy, Rei, Lita, and an apoplectic Mina appear beside a nearly deafened Tara in the front row.
After the little group had been misinformed by their 'idol tracker' Mina as to the correct time the concert was commencing at this venue—until Artemis sighingly proved all the time devices in Mina's house were off an hour due to missing daylight savings—the quartet of young women had raced to get here via taxi.
They had hastily worked their way up to the front row seats that generous Terry had given his friends the exclusive tickets for. Amy, with Luna on her shoulder, and Lita, with Artemis on hers, had hung their heads in shame as Mina and Rei aggressively plowed through the throng.
And when Robin spots Luna in the corner of his eye as he was last to leave the stage for the Three Lights' outfit change, he awards his favorite kitty a wink in their direction. And it wasn't only that besotted cat who nearly tumbled off her perch.
"We thought you girls weren't coming." Michelle cattily comments, giving Luna a jealous raised brow as the debutante smoothes her own ruffled corsage feathers.
"Some blonde ditz almost made us miss it!" Rei twists her lip at her yet swooning friend, Mina in the zone with all the bright lights and heartpounding sounds of the concert scene she longed to someday achieve.
"Better late than never, my little kittens." Alex leans over to tease her younger friends who were each panting and breathing hard from the frantic running exertion to get here as Amy nods.
"Well, we can't blame Serena for making us late this time." Amy giggles in her sweet, bell-like voice, making reference to their dearest friend's penchant for maddening lateness.
"She's probably on the beach enjoying her honeymoon with Darien in Acapulco around now, eyeing dreamy shirtless guys." Rei had reason to be glad Serena wasn't here today—the 'reason' had dark blue curly hair in a long ponytail and dangerous—and just as dark at times blue eyes—Rei says sourly as usual at all things concerning her sparring mate who wasn't present. It wasn't as much fun without her here.
Nothing is, without that dumb Meatballhead around…Hope you're having a good time, Serena…
"Yeah, dreamy, exciting and handsome guys. Sigh" Lita was almost in a trance at the sheer hunkiness of the trio of young men who just come back from a cool costume change to strut across the stage to the triple front microphone stands. Instead of their signature red, yellow and pale blue suits, they were now donning tight black jeans, loose and low hanging, white inner shirts, and three different styled, but matching fabric, holographic dark sequined jackets gleaming in the multicolored spotlights' glare.
"AHHH! YOU GUYS ARE GORGEOUS UP THERE!"
"YOUR SEQUINS ARE ALMOST AS BLINDINGLY STUNNING AS YOU ARE, ROBIN!"
"LOVE THE ADULT MOOD SCARF, TERRY!"
"THAT JACKET'S SO SPORTY AND SEXY, SAYER!"
At the fangirling squeals coming from Mina to Rei to Amy and Lita, Alex shakes her golden head, rolling her eyes at the sorry state of the younger Sailor Team that this trio of shooting stars from a distant galaxy evoked. As for Amy, she was secretly glad their new boyfriends were not in attendance to see—and perhaps be put-off—at all this teen idol fangirling going on here.
"Huh?! Where?! Who's shirtless?!" "Eeeek! Ahh! I hope it's Robin!" Wide eyed and looking about frantically, Rei's excited question mingles with Mina's incoherent shrieking. Luna in Amy's arms begins to drool, as nosebleeding Mina soon joins along with her Robin drooling feline friend, much to Artemis and Michelle's pursed lip chagrin.
As Mr. Popular Robin Starr's girl fan club all drool on his side of the stage, Susan noted how tall Lita let out another long sigh when her own feminine roving orbs look up to where even taller and overtly masculine Terry had taken his good posture stance on the right side of the stage.
But any envy on the older female's part ebbs away when Terry meaningfully clasps his large hand around the invisible bond at his one bare wrist before smiling eyes make direct contact with his partner in Time.
Susan reflects for a moment on the miracle of this wonderful man who had given up his freedom to forever share her life's no longer solitary mission as Terry extends his open hand out to her.
Then, he and his brothers wrap arms around themselves in quite evocative, dramatic poses as they ready for their next song.
The familiar beat made the four Outer Scouts attending, especially Alex, smirk at their memorable 'free preview' of how that dynamic, new-age techno-pop song was driven to be born a week or so ago on the trip to the beach.
The energized arena was already beginning to palpitate again with racing percussion and techno sounds as the Three Lights retake the stage. Their only instruments for this new number were only their voices, as the exhilarating concert night rolls on with an invigorating new "Starline."
"Ay-yah-yah! Ahh- ya-iyah!"
"Longing so deeply for this burning love
Don't lose sight of it, don't lose sight of it!
No matter where I'm singing from, this song will
Make you turn your head, make you turn your head"
"Don't look away from me!"
"Don't hold your voice from me!"
"I'll snatch away your everything, even stealing your heart!"
Mina, Lita, Rei, Amy and Tara were screaming along with every other single attendee already on their feet dancing along with the new and electrifying three-part harmony song. Right on its heels, the Three Lights don't take a pause when they continue through the set list of their most renowned hits, as seven of the eight Inner and Outer Sailor Soldiers clap and sing along in rhythm and blues with the familiar tunes.
"Search for your love! The crystal of heaven! Search for your love…"
When the near legendary, nostalgic ballad "Towards a Shooting Star" rings over the airwaves once again with the trio was 'searching for their love,' there was n'ary a dry eye in the crowd.
"Can't my voice reach you right now?...you are my new Princess!"
And then the faster paced "My Friend's Love" picks right up on Sayer's saxophone embers, leading into the rest of the songs Terry had composed the music of, Sayer the lyrics, and Robin doing the arrangements of the flowing melodies which made the Three Lights famous.
"In the moon's shining light, I need to reach for your body—Hey! I want to take you away with me!"
This latter part of the trio's song gets a rise out of an arm folded Alex as she listens to its once meaningful lines of the lead wolf—ugh, singer—with renewed jealous interest. She was one of the only witnesses present to understand its full backstory, filled with a Fighter's torn loyalty and forlorn longing.
A palette of solo songs, both old and new, comes next with Sayer to Terry to Robin singing their hearts out. Each song was filled with the new loves they had found, and the promise of what it will become, echoing through the star shower of warm lyrics.
"I wanna help you, I wanna save you if I can…I've been taken in by it, keep showing me that smile of yours…Surely, this can become more than just a distant love across the galaxy!"
Though most of the audience was oblivious of the true connotation behind the cool, yet inscrutable love song's words, Sayer sets Alex's teeth on edge again with his soaring voiced, full of young yearning. "Distant Love" was a bittersweet loser love song, obviously aimed at one Bunhead they both knew and cherished.
However, Sayer's second solo of 'Don't Take the Last Ride" had reminders of his yet unrequited love affair with Alex herself now.
"When the last ride is offered
An unsettling wind cries out:
Boys are innocent!
Girls are curious!"
Seriously laser focused on the tall golden woman, Sayer's emotive starry eyes impress that sense of teasing, intimate contact their adventure on the beachfront had keyed up for the both of them.
"Hey? Let's build on this relationship
Hey? Let's give our lives new meaning
Don't be so gentle
No, don't give up on me!"
After the spicy rock star slinks his energetic lean frame in a slower tempo dance away from the crimson spotlight covering him, a violet glow ensues with a more melty butter flavor. Tall, sexy, calm and composed Terry Starr steps out into the center stage to "Combine Strengths" with his brothers.
"…And yes, I do believe! Because I know I have allies with me now! So with this love I've found surpassing time and space!"
With some select alterations to the now timely, current lyric, his evocative low tenor croons the encouraging tune, bringing everyone along with his positive attitude.
"Give everything I have in me now! At the same pace as always…"
After the applause for his first solo number dies down, Terry Starr's tone filled with friendship and assured kindness turns even more tenderly sensitive to dreams and romance as he switches to his next song, composed for a certain lady who went beyond time.
"This longing inside of my heart now, experience just once in a lifetime…This kind of love I cannot ever forget, as long as I live…"
Terry's extremely masculine, yet completely gentle voice encompasses the entire audience, with the emotional warmth of his sentiment.
"Since I first met you, these feelings have grown in me…I live for you alone…"
Sentiment for the one and only woman in the crowd his violet orbs could see, had uncannily emotional Terry nearly in tears. Touched by his tone color, Susan, no longer feeling like the forgotten outsider within the warm embrace of her Terry's glow, demurely smiles back at him with a blush at his intent gaze down at the front row where she sat.
As the floorlights shine upwards an ethereal pale green, Robin Starr blows everyone away with his most upbeat song to date, as electric guitars signal the radically different paced music that had a new player to introduce to the stage.
"Is everyone doing all right out there?
Today is going to be a fun one, isn't it?
I'm asking for nothing more than
A great time after the hard work's been accomplished!"
But Robin's energized focus was less on the audience or players on stage and more on one singular person in the front row watching with her keen, mermaid blue eyes.
"Sky lights up from far and wide to welcome you
The spotlight loves to land on you most of all!"
Referencing to that unforgettable performance on a beach stage a few days ago, it was Robin's turn to serenade Michelle this time as his mint green orbs envelop her in an aura of admiration. Not only for her obvious outward poise and beauty, but even more so for the pure beauty of her inner radiance.
"Of course the spotlight's drawn to you, just as this hidden piece of starlight was unconsciously lured to your shine…" Robin's wide-open mind invites his partner to the astral plane at the same time he was still simultaneously singing the challenging notes of the music he had composed both music and lyric to creatively emotive, chromatic expression.
"The strongest among us can be lonely
While the weakest just get in the way!
We need a little of both
For our song's rhythmic poetry to keep flowing on
Yeah, yeah, yeah!"
In fact, Robin displays his own rhythm for his muse with his sleek body performing a flawless backflip that utterly wows the stunned crowds, not to mention a thoroughly floored Miss Moreau.
"Since you and I first met I've new thoughts
Not so self-centered—had no idea how to live
I was good at being a hopeless jerk!
Either way, these novel ideas you gave showed me
Who I honestly was
Now I want to learn more about you!"
He struts across the stage like a silky silvery cat, with slender arms stretched out towards the only individual who could have seen beyond his harsh, insolent exterior to bring him out of his shell.
"Like I always said
Since I first glimpsed your eyes, why have they never stopped smiling at me?
Turned out to be the finest love story, once upon a time
I would have thought it untrue
How am I so lucky to have found you?"
Robin was speaking directly to Michelle's heart as he described the unbelievable love story of an aloof distant star falling in love with the embracing soldier of this galaxy's deep sea.
"I love you so much!
How many times must I say it for you to know it's true?
Forever, I know it will be only you I care for because
I love you so much!
Awash in the soft mint of her Robin's eyes, Michelle felt so grateful for the forever love he was now verbally pledging to her in an exceedingly public, unabashed way.
"Listen to the words I am saying
Believe I'm not telling you a lie!
Oh, how I'm begging you to please love me!"
"I am listening, my dearest. I do love you, and know you would never deceive me!" Michelle's soul could feel no more gratified than with this hopelessly devoted, warmth of love offered from this ostensibly coldest, previously standoffish Star Guardian.
"Tomorrow will surely clear up
A multitude of stars fell from the sky
Like magic they light up the night's shadows
For you, all the darkness hides away"
"I'm all right with it now!
Your feelings have become my feelings too!"
Tears of joy spring to the empathic eyes of this daughter of Neptune to have found such a like soul which mirrored hers. Michelle dabs at her blue eyes with the clean handkerchief Alex had intuitively supplied from her vest pocket beside her weepy best friend in the front row seat.
"More and more I know
When you are near to me
I suppose you're the only one who could do this to me
I wish to dry your tears with all my heart now
If it's the only thing I can do, I always hope to keep you smiling, okay?"
Robin's most stellar smile beams sensitively to her as he kneels to the stage, his animated hands forming the smile he had come to adore from her.
"I love you so much!
You're like a warm sea breeze over me!
Any tenderness I have is because you freed the other half of me
Everyday!
It's only because of you
I have finally come to life!
I plan to make it a wonderful one
For you!"
Sayer appears onstage in the rear with a saxophone interlude, Terry playing his backup on the grand piano there as the pair of young men give the third member of their group, honestly revealing his heart, looks of pride. Soon their instrumentation goes quiet, at Robin's meaningful arrangement command.
"I love you so much.
Didn't think it possible until you came along!
I need to express every feeling of love you've caused in me!
All of the time!"
His smoky voice—starting at a near a cappella with the tenderly spoken phrase of true love—was so sweet and sincere that no one could deny that this once untouchable idol had experienced the real significance of love in his young life.
"Can you hear me now? Know I am not telling you any lies!
Believe this and just please do
Love me!"
And the way he poured his entire being into that final plea whose note was rising along with each neon green light pulsating across the stage, caused Robin Starr to bring down the house with this solo song he had written for the woman he now loved, right from his heart.
As the audience's applause begins to die down for his first song, the pale haired Three Light fluidly moves into his second solo number, a classic one which had made him infamous, two years prior, for being a loner.
And the audience implodes again in combustible applause for their favorite idol who wrote the book on how to be so desirably off-limits cool.
"Chameleon, I hear your deep sighing
Emeralds, reflect her perfection
No longer will I stay separate from all these things."
In a total chameleon change of mood, cool beauty Robin Starr performs like a model film star. To the sultry sound of Sayer's saxophone, the consummate actor was both expressive in facial expression and physical gesture with every deeply ponderous line full of similes and metaphors that left each person in the crowd thinking. Thinking how even more fine and gorgeous this sleek and slender sex symbol had matured since last they had seen him.
"I enjoy the smile of an aqua rose."
Michelle got a thrill out of that personalized, colorful line, the debutante demurely blushing behind her flattered hand that she waves up at her heartthrob.
"…I escape to you silently
We leave the world of reality behind…"
"And tomorrow again, I know my search is over
With my guitar, I'll keep strumming..."
The petulant, self-possessed, solitary teen idol that Robin once was had now elipsed into a mature man who had found his way when the shooting star discovered he was not alone in the universe.
"So I compose my music at midnight.
Coffee I made somehow or another.
Now I no longer wonder why all the milk blends in!
Tell me my mermaid, will you hold me close all night?'
When he personalized the original lines of his soul-searching song to now be directed at his 'mermaid,' Michelle audibly sighs with the insinuation laden mental projection:
"I'll keep you as close and blending with my milk wherever and whenever you wish, Robin dearest."
Enticed and aroused no end, cool cat Robin runs his hand through his coiffed bangs, winking before licking his fingertips that ended with a coyly blown kiss in Michelle's heavily breathing direction.
Unaware of the communicative open intimacy passing between the psychic pair, every feminine heart in the audience believed that extremely provocative kiss was meant for them. Many a medic and/or smelling salt was necessary to revive the fainted women which blisteringly cool/hot idol Robin Starr had just stimulated with one sexually charged gesticulation.
"And tomorrow again, I know I'm no longer searching!
Into the mic, I whisper to you…"
And the silvery sex 'kitten' relentlessly literally torments the stupefied females in the roaring crowd with the breathy way his husky voice exhales right into the microphone he raises up to his knowing-how-to-do-it-right lips.
The temperature of the mature Three Lights' concert, by now, goes totally off the scales, as does the listeners' deafening screams when Terry and Sayer rejoin Robin, who just finished his sultry song with that well-dramatized flourish.
And his two fellow dreamboats had every bit as much show-stopping Apollo and Atlas star power combined as their brother Adonis, as they each strike a similar seductive microphone chokehold for their next overtly masculine, sensually charged, brand new number.
Sayer tackles the first verse in a serious lead singer mode, center stage:
"So I think that girl is really cool
But fawning over her isn't good enough
Flying off to a big city night
I wish I knew what more I could offer
Continue walking through this darkness alone, but
When no one else is there, you can depend on me!"
Terry joins in harmony with the last segment of Sayer's stanza, his violet eyes moving from brother to brother, then finally land on the true focus of his life, Susan, beaming at him from her front row seat.
"Carry on!"
All Three Lights chime perfect in the title of the song that reflected the trajectory of their lives renewed here on earth with corresponding hearts of three outer ladies.
"Though our eyes just miss one another
Passing by in the cruel wind's emptiness"
"Carry on!"
"In spite of love being too tempting"
Sayer seemed to be speaking straight to the woman who owned the wind as he crooned in silky smooth strains.
"How far will I go to keep
Living now just for you?"
Terry and Robin harmonize in both lyrical and spiritual delivery towards their own special ladies all three wandering stars recognized they were now living for, just as Terry's deep sexy strains declare in a haunting echo.
"Reaching into the still of night
A melody wraps all around me
Spilling to street corners high pressure
Popularity seems like a bad dream!"
Touching a hand to his ear, Robin takes the second verse of the sensual song, injecting much of his own cool spice to this segment he'd freshly written for today's event.
"This song plays even when I can't hear it anymore
Everything in my heart's unpredictable!"
"Carry on!"
After all three sing the war cry to 'Carry on!,' Sayer comes surging in with his powerfully strident, yet beautifully soaring voice in the refrain, once again:
"Though our eyes just miss one another
Passing by the biting wind's loneliness
I only hope our dreams can connect someday!"
Clutching his heart, Robin's high pitch-perfect tone then swoops back in with the meaningful premise as his eyes sear into Michelle's in the crowd:
"How far will I go to keep living now just for you?
Carry on!"
The music switches its hard rock movement to a softer cadenza under Terry's gentle command and oh-so-tender, extremely emotional musical bridge.
"The changing sky now appears to burn up in ashen hues
(ahh ahh ah-ahh, ahh)
Raw emotions have painted the landscape,
but I can't let it discourage me…Ohh!"
Robin's ethereal vocals take the hearers into a different realm as he interjects his lyric in between Terry's impressive range, deep tenor.
"No matter what, these colors of my heart can't fade away!
(ah ahh ah-ahh, ahh)"
"Surely more wondrous things await us
only if we believe our time has come…"
"Carry on!"
As the trio of talented young musicians play keytar, bass and electric guitars to the quick tempo sexy passage they had just recently written, Alex, Susan, and Michelle were all on their feet, dancing and clapping along.
"I feel harsh winds always chasing after me
Binding my hopes down a lost abyss
But I need to spread both hands wide."
Sayer's long navy blue ponytail dances as he rhythmically spins and dips low to the ground to his skidded knees, hands extended towards the audience, and one in particular golden Soldier standing tall at the front of it. In smooth choreography, Robin's silver hair swishes around his darker sibling as he performs a whirling pirouette to Sayer's left, arms encircling his slender, gorgeous body, while singing their duet line together as one.
"Wrap them around that girl's heart!"
But the third Light takes the cake when tall and imposing Terry Starr, from an utter standstill pose at his microphone stand, makes an amazing, flying leap straight up in an apropos, Olympian style vault.
"If so, dive headfirst! Ohh!"
And down from the open sky stage he lands in picture-perfect, precise telemetry and with ideal time signature physical stamina, to strike the twelve o'clock clock hand pose to the right of Sayer in a stunning center stage tableau of the three brothers Starr, whose disparate voices all blend into one beautiful sound.
"Carry on!"
"Though our eyes just miss one another
Passing by in the cruel wind's emptiness!"
"Carry on!
"In spite of love being too tempting"
"How far will I go to keep living now just for you?"
The incredible singing group continues to titillate the crowd with one final round of the resounding refrain in stellar harmonization, all three basking in the glow of the crowds who once lifted their hearts and hopes to cross the skies in a time of need.
"Carry on! Oh-ohh!
Carry on! Oh-ohh!
Carry on! Oh-ohh!
Carry on! Oh-ohh!"
The fans welcome the three idols back into their hearts—the group was certainly destined on the track of fame and fortune once again. With the reception this crowd gave, any label or studio would gladly take the group into their fold.
As the evening progresses, the three talented singers debut another newly written song apiece. Their developing maturity expressed through these diversely dissimilar music choices setting a different mood with the trio of entries, in a change of style and pace for each.
When Sayer appears back on the stage alone with only his trusty favorite guitar in hand, the audience cheers. He remembered how much fun it was to perform live as the ponytailed rock star takes a seat in the high bench chair that had been placed at the center microphone stand for him.
He smiles with not the fame or fortune aspect of being a rock idol, but the joy of singing itself. It was glare of the bright hot lights, the sound of the pounding music blaring behind and flowing from him, with the ecstatic audience before him that made Sayer Starr truly enjoy being a rock star. It was where he had the chance to shout out every feeling within him and release every emotion the moody star sometimes kept pent up inside, without inhibition.
"At dawn, I hear birds start singing loudly from the
Tall elms they cry uproariously
So I can let my troubles go faraway too!
Choose whether to laugh or cry, just the same as you…
Whenever you are sad, I wish you could tell me so I could
Raise up my voice and sing your favorite song of mine—makes me feel
Good to know my song will reach you."
Sayer surprises everyone—Alex in particular—with the definitely more low-key and contemplative new ballad that he had personally composed that spoke of a yearning to return to this earth. Alex was impressed by how the slow, thoughtful song was certainly showing that the kid in him was growing up, in a sedate, mature voice rather than the brash teenage one. It was even more beautifully pristine in crystal clear quality than last anyone had heard from this lead singer of the Three Lights as he projected maturity from the relaxed stool he sat at, letting his acoustic music tell his story as much as singing a song.
"Nothing good may come of it
It's not the fault of this city I'm living in now so I
Lift my hand to the clouds the sky's tearing apart
"I'm goin' home! I'm goin' home!
The sun is shining on everyone's heart!
I'm goin home! I'm goin' home!
Because everyone has been created equal there."
As he sang the thought-provoked words he had written from the heart for this world this wandering star had come to love, Sayer felt gratitude for being back 'home' here on earth, the place where he had found friendship and hope. The place where he could finally be himself and live a normal life, more than just living to be a fighter in battle, perfect soldier or not.
Created equal, Fighter? I thought your last song said you were always a 'perfect soldier?' Listening to every word circumspectly, Alex couldn't help but silently rib this Star Soldier who got under her skin—and fit so enticingly on top of it, too—for his original overconfidence.
A confidence in oneself which she, as a fellow 'perfect soldier' found they were indeed 'equal' about.
"My goal's to find myself again with
A new name and place to call my own
Wherever I am is where happiness will be
Just keep walking forward to discover the real me.
Don't need a ticket or a map, just jump on a swift star
Beneath my cap I'm light as a feather
There's no use to hating the ups and downs however long this life is."
Sayer Starr's ballad was as honest and sincere from his heart as the Three Lights' lyricist had ever written, as he truly felt inside this uniquely wonderful world and all the uniquely wonderful people in it was the place he was meant to be.
"I'm goin' home! I'm goin' home!
I'm don't want to go anywhere eelse!
I'm goin home! I'm goin' home!
So I'll always just keep on smiling!"
But whereas the mood swing to the serious side of this playboy singer had astounded Alex pleasantly, the next contestant in the 'Name that Favorite Idol as Mr. Right' show, was about to suck every breath of oxygen from the open stadium domed arena as Terry Starr tag team slaps hands in a 'high-five' and switches off with his brother. to the vlare of trumpets
"Indulging in your sweetness, slow down!
Longing to touch your skin, it's heavenly paradise
Hanging on every one of your sighs
So good a feeling, I want you badly!
Really this is perfect love
Shake! Shake! Shake!
Sadly forlorn, she sighed music
In my ear this party night
Going through me, she sighed music
'Til morning, dazzling the night!"
Terry Starr proved that time was on his side. His completely mature, cool genius attitude had been amply on full display here in front of this audience up to this point. But now he rises to the occasion again with his adult mood sexy side that a little bit of strong drink had unleashed to compose in his longing heart and yearning body for his new princess. So, totally throwing himself into the live performance now he had been reluctant at first to display publicly—at Sayer's bolstering prompting at the 'quality music that'd be a shame to let waste'—for the lady he had instinctively, unconsciously, unabashedly created this intense music for, whether or not he was the only one liable at the drunken bachelor party time for its conception. Shimmying and swaying rhythmically across the stage's dance floor, Terry literally shakes down the ENTIRE crowd until they were all speechless at the shift in the most conscientious, book learned, and responsible Three Light.
"Sadly forlorn, she sighed music
In my ear this party night
Going through me, she sighed music
'Til morning, dazzling the night!
Burning fantasies, I slow down
Sweeping over me the wind sings her name
Gorgeous lady, belle of evening
Won't let you be lonely, Baby face!"
Especially since it was aimed right at a certain timeless lady, whose millennia of age and maturity truly appreciated being called both 'belle of the evening' and 'Baby face' in one raucous verse.
"Really this is perfect love
Shake! Shake! Shake!"
Oh, Terry darling! You're the perfect one! The look on this once forgotten, expressionless soldier of Pluto was anything but. Every one of her immediate Sailor family's eyes dart to Susan the minute they could tear their eyes from the young man undulating across the stage in such an uncharacteristically unreserved, openly erotic, adult mood manner.
"Ahh! You're so lucky, Susan!" It wasn't only Mina congratulating—with more than a touch of envy—for what they believed they had front row insider knowledge. To all the nodding girls agreement, the intimate love life concerning the oldest member of their Sailor Guardian group and that certain extremely mature and excessively masculine Starlight soldier was a said and done deal that made Susan the most fortunate girl there was.
"Yes, I am." Susan declares in her, for once, not so quiet voice, causing Tara beside her to smile wide as she now was honestly proud of the solid relationship between the two older and more mature guardians the young girl looked up to. Her Sailor partner Pluto—no, Susan, was her true friend who deserved every devoted attention Terry-papa had to offer, after all her selfless years spent alone, more than anybody, in teenage Tara's wisdom emerged eyes.
"Hmph! Men!" Alex was the only one in not only their close little circle, but in the entire crowd, who did not appreciate Terry Starr's…ahem…antics going on stage.
Why did I expect better of this one?
"It's just as perfectly natural as the wind washing over the sands of the beach by the ocean waves, Amara." With that continual smile on her lovely face, Michelle coyly teases her stubborn cousin with the quite apropos turn of phrase that instantly silenced and put her red-cheeked best friend in her place.
"Ahem!" Alex had to clear her throat—and her racy mind—at another provocatively memorable incident she herself had with unrepressed emotions unleashed with another stimulating piece of starlight in the sands recently.
But Susan's pleased, pretty pink cheeks were not one ounce ashamed of the exciting, entrancing enticement her extremely entertaining love was so obviously sensually showering her with. Normally proper and reserved gentleman Terry was proudly showcasing his love for Susan to all who knew them personally in this endlessly endowed with raw talent technique he could express his inner emotions for his woman best.
Sigh…
And the belle of the evening lets out a perfectly natural, perfectly expected, perfectly blissful sigh, just as his song stated, that all of her friends shared as their attention was undeniably snapped back to the man singing and dancing on stage for her pleasure.
The tall, broad-shouldered, well-toned perfect shape form of this mahogany ponytailed rock star gave new meaning to the word 'sensation.' For irresistible sensations he was overtly causing in the screaming-with-panting-desire-female audience that his sensual sexy song and corporeal osculating dance moves set on fire.
"For crimson rouge lips celebration!
I break into a sweat now
Shake! Shake! Shake!
Dreaming of tomorrow,
Only because of yesterday!"
As Terry continued to wow the fans in every way, Susan was one big blush, from her fuchsia lips down to her magenta high heels. But not because she was in any shame or discomfort with his gyrating performance that the usually calm and most stable Three Lights' member exuded.
"Shake Shake Shakedown!
Burning fantasies, I slow down
Sweeping over me, the wind sings her name!"
Au contraire, Susan was absolutely thrilled to be serenaded to this music of her Terry's heart, born of this shake-maker's unleashed, liberated inhibitions run wild.
Double sigh…
"Shake shake shake down! I wanna slow down!
Shake shake shake down…!"
Triple sigh…
Terry's energized bass voice lingers in the open air arena as he smoothly finishes his dance hall music and moves with an asking for pardon nod, self-demeaning smile and flourished arm extended out to the audience who adored his every slick, and, for once, not-so-gentlemanly move.
Because Terry and Robin felt the same as Sayer about performing their new emotions now in their own unorthodox, self-discovering, yet totally personalized ways. The 'job' which began as the best theory to broadcast voice and message over this planet's airwaves, was truly suiting the always musical genius of these Star Guardians.
Terry never felt that as strongly as he did now—now that he had someone like Susan to sing to, to compose and perform for, now that he had someone like her to love and enjoy making a living for. His violet eyes were entranced in Susan's even as he was leaving the stage to allow another brother to titillate the crowd in his place with style all his own.
"Stop
The wind seems begging to be
But I won't let this
Beautiful dream die now
With a halting hand dramatically held out in true poised actor style, Robin Starr electromagnetically draws all attention to him now as he launches into another of his songs. This one had been written by the experiences he had thus far experienced on earth during their second coming here.
"Stop
I'm not the only one who loves you
Rest every sadness your heart embraces on me."
"Always time is changing
In my chest this blazing
Because the rough wind flies in!
But I keep hearing that someone's voice ring through the darkness!"
"Hmph!" Alex grunts from where she and a thrilled Michelle sat beside one another in the front row, full well knowing that the 'shrimp' was referring to her as that damnably unstoppable 'rough wind.' Robin's eyes could not help but glance at Michelle's fiercely protective partner, he wearing a smirk that spoke volumes of defiance to Alex.
"And though it may hurt now
I won't fear anything
Even if difficult!
I will protect the soul you have shown to me…"
But his attention was all on Michelle now, the tender-hearted aqua maiden melting under the irrefutable, potent gleam of his mint green shine which possessed such incredible devotion to someone special in his smoky voice's song.
"Ahh, now I know why I was born
Ahh, since that first meeting with you!"
As Susan, Tara, Rei, Mina, Lita, and Amy grab at each other and gasp in ideal boyfriend/ total romance filled delight at his incredible words, Michelle (along with more than a few other staggered members of the crowd) nearly faints dead away from the sheer bliss of this messaging to her on so many levels. Alex rolls her eyes to the heavens as she catches her cousin's delicate form that this little green alien intruder had so infatuated.
"In this body of mine
Within this heart of mine
Hold that shining of yours!
You're the only thing I'll hold onto my whole life through!"
Michelle 'comes to' pretty swiftly after hearing her lover devote even more feeling through his self-composed lyric.
In those smiles of yours
And in those tears of yours
I can see everything!
I will protect this dream you have given me…"
For Robin finally understood he was not alone in the universe anymore, so he didn't have to be such an introvert, disdaining all but his focused mission to find his Princess. Now that he had a new Princess, and a new mission to protect her, Robin Starr could shine as his hidden light always should. With a light especially brilliant since his soul first touched Michelle's wide open embrace, and his lonely heart could perhaps be healed in the spotlight that loved her as much as he did.
For their last, called upon: "double encore!" song of the evening, the boys go backstage to make one more costume change. Sayer, Robin and Terry come out this time in their individual starlight color trimmed, more germane and proper, classy white shirts and black slacks which suited the sophisticated last song they chose to offer their audience tonight.
It was the special gift they had written for their dear friend Serena's wedding. And as they always did in the past performances, the trio dramatically produces signature single roses of red, white and yellow from their pockets and hooked them into their shirt buttonieres, just as low drums begin to hum in the background.
Looking mature and refined in his neat white shirt with light purple zipper front and epaulette sharp shoulders, Terry—who usually stepped up as lead pianist for the group—was surprised to find another, decidedly strong and confident piano player taking control of the first few instrumental bars.
Then Robin spins on his designer, brown spat shoe heel when a violin that was not there before sweetly starts to play the delicate introduction to the tune with a certain flowing artistic quality. The violinist was someone who had the empathic ability to take the usually more insightful, slender man in pale green suspenders over his fancy silk shirt by surprise.
In perfect ¾ time, a rhythmic tambourine finally joins the other two instruments. It swishes its beats in measured percussion, calm and low in the background as the violin's Stradivarius notes flow like water in conjunction with the joint string instruments piano's rumbling with strength to rise on the crisp night winds settling over the concert...
All Three Lights spin to find their backup pianist, hired violinist and a new tambourine player replaced by three very familiar faces.
"Couldn't let you boys have all the fun, could we? By the way, nice outfits." Her languid eyes traced all of Robin's tight lines over her violin's bow, Michelle mentally compliments to a pleasantly surprised Robin's mind. "I like the matching tight pants." Her coquettish violin speaks her approval as it continues its high notes in perfect pitch with the 'Wedding Day' song.
Self-professed 'not musically inclined' Susan tentatively plays her newly introduced tambourine, hoping she doesn't make any mistakes as Alex powerfully gives a final crescendo on the piano keys, leading into the new Three Lights' song.
"We both acknowledge what we came here for.
We take each other and walk through the open door."
With his mermaid's coos coaxing his soul, Robin catches right on, beginning the melody he and his brothers had written for Serena's recent wedding. His heart was secretly pleased to have Michelle here on stage with him, so he removes his microphone from its stand to move closer to his personal violinist.
"From the first time that I saw you, to the way you look tonight, I was shaken by your spirit, I was blinded by your light."
In his fancy ruffled white shirt and mint green suspenders, sleek Robin drifts over to her as he sang, romantically placing his yellow rose in her waves of aqua hair to Michelle's inviting smile. Robin's dolce voice was emboldened with their true love story she had rewritten the chapters of his empty life from the moment Michelle had opened the door to his soul.
"And the world that I used to see is gone without a trace, replaced by your eyes and the smile upon your face."
No longer alone, Robin smiles at Michelle and her violin positioned directly in front of him now encouragingly, her floating to and fro on the right side of the stage wholly entrances him.
"And I will not turn away, 'cause you might disappear."
She was a consummate performer herself, accustomed to the multitude of onlookers before her—and enjoyed the thrill of zoning them out completely to focus only on her singular star.
"I was haunted by your heart, and I felt that you were here…"
As his entire body trembles with this new raw emotion called 'love' which he never entertained the thought of before, Robin Starr felt the heart beat of this aqua mermaid's in his own, the two so connected, it was almost frightening.
And yet so completely thrilling at the same time. Robin's pale green orbs could not pull away from Michelle's sea of blues as the sophisticated, artistic female's stringed instrument melds so intricately with his voice through their spirit link.
"And funny, when the time is right—"
Without missing a beat, in his button up white shirt and pale steel blue striped sleeves rolled up, Sayer then delivers the second verse, leaning casually on the ebony grand concert piano like he was at a bar. Crossing his stylish black leather boots as he does, the rock star was making eyes at the attempting-to-act-professional-and-concentrate, golden-haired pianist all the while he was singing.
"-when whirlwinds strike, You're not alone.
Baby, I will pray for you, my whole life through, this day..."
Sayer appends 'lightning' to the more personally suited weather phenomenon 'whirlwinds' rather than the rehearsed lyrics. His silver tongue swirls the sudden passion romance insinuation around at Alex a bit with saucy flirtation. Then Sayer adds the almost whispered ending bridge pledge, causing the windswept woman to finally look up at him from her focused piano keyboard.
Her startled eyes sparkle at him knowing he added that for her, as her tingling fingers competently keep tinkling the piano keys to Sayer's mellow voice crooning into her eyes over the open grand piano.
"We'll be together, Husband and wife!
Now and forever, the rest of our lives!
Well, take me to Heaven, Take me tonight!
There is nothing words can say, on this our wedding day!"
All Three Lights harmonize together so flawlessly smooth, for they three had been singing as one for the entirety of their young, star swept lives. Once again, these galaxy-crossing young men apply the fresh song written for a dear friend now to the growing sentiment of true love overtaking each of their own well-traveled, but no longer wandering hearts.
"Oh, now is the hour, now is the sowing of the seed. I will take tomorrow, I will lay it at your feet."
Right on his cue, dashing and dapper (and formal again, after that–ahem, last number—in his white button up with its violet center stripe and shoulder epaulettes, Terry's deep vocals intone even more beautifully than ever before. His wisteria purple, enlightened eyes gaze over his new inspiration with the fitting verse he had composed in Serena's honor that now also described every emotion his soul was pouring out for his Susan.
Seeing her nervous playing of the instrument in her hand, combined with a little bit of stage fright, too, Terry decides to make Susan feel at home. So he slides his free arm around her slim waist to reach around to her opposite slender forearm.
"And the two of us escape from the sadness of the world. From the thunder and the darkness. From the hunger and the hurt."
Terry continues to emphatically, yet gently, sing as, in a tight embrace, he moves Susan's wrist in slow, rounded motions, showing her how to play the tambourine. Never so caringly touched before, Susan loses herself in his eyes over her shoulder, his strong arms around her, and a feeling of complete protected safety and adoration sweeps through her. The besotted, quiet woman lets her handsome Terry control her like butter in his hands, as he continues to sing this love song for her tenderly.
"You know I will remember well the mission bell that rings your name!"
Sayer's emotive voice rings in with perfect, bell-like notes equaled only to Alex's precise command of the piano's powerful chords as they parallel each other's strength.
"And Baby, there could never be, a memory like you…"
Sayer's sauntering body and come-hither eyes slow dance to his uniquely touched pianist. Alex's mind was silently screaming: 'Don't call me 'Baby'!' but her heart was speaking a different language to his sentimental love.
Serenading her with his intense phrase, Sayer presses his sinewy frame to the ebony grand piano she was playing as their locked eyes reflect in its gleam even on the darkened musical stage.
"We'll be together, Husband and wife!
Now and forever, Lovers for life!
Well, take me to Heaven, Take me tonight.
There is nothing words can say, on this our wedding day!"
Altogether as one, the Three Lights then combine in chorus the hauntingly magnificent refrain of eternal love on the cusp of discovery and into the realm of superlative completion that now all three young men were beginning their journeys into.
"This will be my pledge to you: 'I will follow through to the end!'"
Terry's usually mellow strains effectively express this newfound hope building within his heart for the serene, quiet woman who exists beyond time as her tambourine also shivers before his enamored eyes.
"And we will find another plane, we'll be home again!"
Robin's high tones mingle with the sweet strains of Michelle's violin, harmony and melody becoming one. The combination was quite aesthetically beautiful to the romantic ear as were the words rife with a future promise that the former loner was no longer so adverse to sharing.
"And tonight I'm going to find true love, true love!"
Sayer's heart practically leaps out of his chest into his powerful, yet crystal clear voice, crying out to be heard and recognized by this exhilarating new partner of a stylish golden gal that his song was now fully dedicated to.
"We'll be together, Husband and wife!
Now and forever, Lovers for life!
Well, take me to Heaven, Take me tonight!
There is nothing words can say, on this our wedding day!"
The stunning essence of the splendid love song takes hold of all three couples as they perform and vocalize for each other the moving melody that these three boys from another galaxy of stars had composed together. And in it, their combined talents and mutual love made the concert's finish seem more like a beginning than an end.
"On this our wed~ding day…"
Sayer closes his eyes and—to the thrill of all the screaming females standing from the concert seats as he slowly sings—emotively leans across the piano that was his last solo line's only accompaniment and throws the red rose in his shirt pocket meaningfully up to the moon in a 'farewell to the past' gesture.
But when his blue eyes finally open to catch the beautiful, yet thorny bloom in its descent, his rose, his eyes, and his future were all only Alex's. The last of Sayer Starr's lyrical tenor voice and emotively kissed fingertips sliding along the ebony piano's cool ivory were honestly extended to its golden maestro alone now.
And, as a result, lifelong liberated and free as the wind, independent Amaralexis Sokova never felt so…special…as she did right now in the intoxicating focus of Sayer Starr's serious eyes. Cherished in this moment she was being serenaded in secret code before a crowd of thousands by this singularly gorgeous, thrillingly talented fighter and wholly unpredictable—but above all else, attentive and caring—person who fell to her from above the sky she commanded, to dare to offer her unapproachable heart his distant love.
Time had graciously stopped for dutiful, quiet and submissive Susan de Venici, as well, in this uniquely romantic night which, after eons of elapsed loneliness, included her at last. She was still left touched and speechless for her handsome and lyrical Terry Starr's compassionate concern for her shyness and utterly romantic gesture to help the self-proclaimed 'un-musical' woman, who was as old as time, find her beat in the pounding of his combined strength's steady heart that the brilliant man was sure was made for her alone.
Gazing across her rare Stradivarius violin's bow, the vast sea of Michelle Moreau's deep soul overflows with gratitude—gratitude to Robin Starr for accepting the entirety of her embrace so openly this night in his declarations of a sincere love song. Gratitude to God, most of all, for the miracle of this inconceivably beautiful destiny and love story He had blessed her life with on that fateful night she and Robin's souls first drew close to one another.
Since that moment, Michelle vowed to herself that she would fully bathe in the light of Robin Starr's sensitive shine from now on, where their deeply consummate bond would never again let his precious soul be alone, this midnight or any other.
"I love you so much, Robin dearest. Thank you for opening your heart to love me." Heart moved Michelle projects her pure sentiment, catching the light of his healing mint green eyes in like response.
Exceptionally bright stars come out to shine upon the chosen three young men at their celestially blessed, aptly named "Our Era Together" concert, the stunning music of which had extended long into the successful night.
And as Terry, Sayer and Robin devote their individual lyrics to the three ladies playing the strings of their hearts on stage, too, it was obvious to one and all that this was the beginning of an epoch spectacular, in both the public and private lives of the Three Lights.
"See Me—My heart beats in time for you!"
"Hear Me—Signals over the ocean!"
"Touch Me—The strong fresh wind's new-found power…"
"…Will start to rise!"
"I won't overlook this!"
"I won't give this up now!"
"'til I reach this new dream–
"You are mine!"
"So, I move close to where you are!"
"Now it's our era together!"
When the reprise finally wraps up, singing and dancing the performance of their lives, Sayer, Terry and Robin Starr deliver in ideal, flowing, perfect shooting star harmony and sleek body rhythm one last encore of their opening theme 'See Me, Hear Me, Touch Me - This Our Era Together" before they sign off for the night.
"I'm not saying yesterday
And not tomorrow.
For this is the moment I've longed for!"
"Yes!"
"This is the happiness that I have
Waited for all my life…!"
The satisfied crowd roars its assent in deafening applause and squeals of delight for the trio who had stolen their hearts all over again as the reestablished rock star unit promises to carry on a new era's starline. And so, the Three Lights' first concert draws to a successful triumphant close, re-igniting the stellar trio's well-deserved popularity on earth anew.
