HARRY POTTER IS BROKEN

I don't own Harry Potter. I do own the story and any original characters that I create. I seek no profit from my writings in the Harry Potter Universe. The rights are owned by J K Rowling and whoever happens to own Warner Bros.

Harry Potter returns to 4 Privet Drive a broken boy. He's seen another boy callously cut down in front of him, he's been forced to duel Voldemort, seen the ghosts of his parents and been told how proud they are of him. Then Dumbledore makes him return to Durzkaban, instead of spending the Summer with Sirius. Harry is emotionally exhausted.

At 15, Harry did not know a lot of things. He had no idea about the prophecy. He did not know about horcrux. He does not know why his scar hurts when he's around one. The prophecy is in one of James notes in his Journal. Sirius has been recuperating at a Health Spa his family owns in the South of France. It's not far from Beauxbatons and a fairly major Veela colony. Sirius still feels guilty that he was not the Secret Keeper.

Harry Potter was dressed I Wizengamot finery and took his seat in the Wizengamot. He was rather surprised to find that he voted not only his Potter seat, but also the Gaunt seat and the Black seat. He also had his own Order of Merlin seat, along with the posthumous seats of his mother and those for Lords Black and Malfoy.

Naturally, Lord Malfoy contested Harry's seven seats. He wanted three for himself. The Speaker of the Law confirmed Harry speaking for/voting the Black seat at that Wizengamot meeting and Amelia Bones stated the next Ordinary Meeting which was to consider the posthumous awards was in December. Lucius Malfoy made his way to the public gallery in very ill-humour. Minerva McGonagall stifled a laugh. This was the first look she'd had at Harry Potter since the night on the Dursley doorstep. She 'd being thoroughly pranked by him the previous day and hoped he wouldn't be the second coming of James Potter.

Albus Dumbledore was not present. His position as Chief Warlock was taken, temporarily by Augusta Longbottom, the Deputy Chief Warlock. Harry voted on each Agenda item. He did not say anything.

Then the Agenda arrived at the Black versus Crouch case.

"With the death of Lord Black, I move the case against House Crouch be dismissed," Barty Crouch had struck what he thought was a knockout blow.

Harry rose. "Lord Sirius Black, the individual wronged by House Crouch is still recovering from spending time near Dementors. He would certainly want me to press House Black claims against House Crouch who sent him to Azkaban without trial." Harry remembered Sirius telling him that Crouch had visited with his sick wife. Barty Jr, who had been in good health had died a few days later.

"Dumbledore told me he believed Sirius Black to have been the Potters' secret keeper," Barty said.

"Why would Dumbledore tell you that a man who not present at the casting of the Fidelius was the Secret Keeper. The fact remained that you sent an Heir to a Noble and Most Ancient House to Azkaban without trial in violation of the rules of this place. You also took your sick wife to see your son in Azkaban, The son who had been in good health died a few days later. That's another violation of procedure and possibly a use of Polyjuice potion.

I move that House Black subsume House Crouch." Harry had come across that phrase in an old book in the library in Nurmengard.

The vote to dismiss the charges as Barty wanted failed by a large margin. The vote on Harry's motion failed by a couple of votes to attain the necessary majority. That meant it would come up again at the next meeting.

Under Any other Business Harry asked why Death Eaters had been sent to Azkaban rather than be killed. When Harry was told that they were sentenced for their crimes, Harry replied that they had tried to overthrow the government of magical Britain, which was treason and had attacked his family. As the Lord of a Noble and Most Ancient House, Harry had the right to demand their immediate execution, which he did. This was certainly not the action that any of the others in the Chamber had expected from an 11-year-old.

Lord Selwyn was on his feet," Lord Potter you do not have the right to make such a demand. It is something only your magical guardian can make happen."

"I became Lord Potter aged 15 months old. My father did not establish a Regent for me, as he should have done. Presumably, Dumbledore never told him that he was the Lord. What it does mean is that my word is Law for my House. I expect sentence to be carried out with immediate effect."

If they had been shocked by that, Harry's next order of business had them even more shocked.

"We are fortunate to have Lord Malfoy present today. He avoided trial by his father paying for a new Wing at St Mungos. He claimed to have been forced to take the Dark Mark under Imperious. Did it never occur to any of you to ask any Death Eater you had under Veritaserum whether it was possible to only take the Dark Mark voluntarily. This is a representative of a family that paid for an anonymous pamphlet to remove House Potter from the Sacred 28 and to replace us with his family. That is an attack upon my family. I will not tolerate any such attack. I demand Lucius Malfoy to be arrested and put on trial today and answer the question."

"The Malfoys are fine upstanding family," Lord Selwyn began.

"That's the second time today you have sought to undermine my family here today. I am well within my rights. House Potter is the aggrieved party, here. As you know." Harry put emphasis on each world.

A bound Lucius Malfoy was placed in the Chair of the Accused and bound by it. Veritaserum was administered. Harry asked the questions.

"What is your full name?"

"Lucius Abraxas Malfoy"

"What is your date of birth?"

"18th January 1954."

"What House were you in at Hogwarts?"

"Slytherin."

"Did House Malfoy pay for an anonymous pamphlet attack House Potter?"

"Yes. House Potter is a far worthier house than House Potter."

"Are all the claims in the pamphlet lies?"

"Yes."

"Were you in You-Know-Who's Inner Circle?"

"I was in the Dark Lord's Inner circle."

"Is it possible to take the Dark Mark under the Imperious Curse?"

Harry could see Malfoy trying to not answer.

"No," eventually came out of Malfoy's mouth.

"Do you love your wife?"

"Yes."

"What do you think of your father?"

"a STUPID MAN WHO COULD HAVE HAD GREATNESS."

Harry remembered the Bones and the Prewetts. "How did you get to the Prewetts and the Bones?"

"They were members of Dumbledore's Order of the Phoenix. Through our agent in the Order."

"Who was your agent in his order?"

"Severus Tobias Snape."

"Dumbledore thinks he is his spy. What do you say to that?"

"Dumbledore is blind, an imbecile."

"Since your Dark Lord went away, have you committed any crimes?"

"Name every other Death Eater you know who is still alive, quickly?"

Harry saw Amelia Bones reach for a parchment and a quick quill. Malfoy went through 32 names not in Azkaban. He then shot Harry a look of pure hatred. He had broken whatever hold the veritaserum had held over him.

Augusta Longbottom banged her gavel.

"We have reached the end of our allotted time today. We shall have to continue this trial, next time."

"We have a trial in progress. I'm invoking the 1711 Act of the Wizengamot to complete this trial," Harry said. Harry was pleased he'd read that old cobweb covered book. The Speaker of the Law came down on Harry's side.

It did not do Harry any good. He remembered the killing curse Lucius had tried to throw at him second year. He wanted payback. House Malfoy was ordered to pay 500000 galleons to House Potter and Lucius was remanded to face a trial conducted by Amelia Bones at the next meeting of the Wizengamot. Harry was not interested in the money. It was a sizeable amount. Lucius immediately said he'd appeal it. Harry would have to be satisfied with the 10 souls sucked out by the Dementors.

Amelia Bones issued warrants for the arrest of all Death Eaters named by Malfoy. 30 Death Eaters were taken into custody. That included 14 Lords of the Wizengamot. Such a scandal had never been seen before. Not even during the Wars with the Knights of Walpurgis of Grindelwald. The Daily Prophet would have a field day. Harry mused that Rita Skeeter would really go to town on them. Harry left the Chamber to the sickly sweat tones of Dolores Umbridge. He remembered her from his trial. She was another he had a score to settle with.

Minerva got out of the Chamber as quickly as she could and apparated to Hogsmeade and rushed in to see Dumbledore. Harry was safely in his room and he'd made it Unplottable, Untrackable and Untraceable. He ate in his room.

Dumbledore sprang into action. He was throwing a hissy fit when he could not find Harry. He demanded that Amelia Bones release the 30 arrested. She told him no and kept telling him no. For two hours. Albus then went to see Amos Diggory, to demand he issued pardons to all 30. Diggory looked at Albus as though he had swallowed a snitch and said no. Albus went back to Hogwarts. It was 2am and Albus toyed with his time-turner, well the one he'd taken from Charlus Potter. It was a 12hr turn back. He disliked doing more, since that would alert the Department of Mysteries that a temporal incursion was taking place. He'd had a couple of near misses with them earlier in his term as Chief Warlock. Dumbledore decided to let it slide, this time. He could do this right, set things right, at the September meeting. Harry would not be there, of course. That should make things a lot easier. Dumbledore could hardly claim Harry was going dark, when he was killing Death Eaters.

As August went by, day by day, Harry received a message from Ted Tonks that 0 Healers, Potion Master or Aurors had come out of Hogwarts since Snape started teaching Potions. All students who had attained an EE could sue Snape for consequential loss. Harry told Tonks to invite former students to launch a law suits against Snape. Tonks had laughed. Snape had returned to Hogwarts narrowly avoiding Aurors sent to arrest him. He had screamed 'POTTER' as loud as he could.

Harry checked his two Potions textbooks. The Bezoar was not in them because it was not used in first year potions. The combination of wormwood and asphodel was not included in 1000 Magical Plants and Herbs. Monkshood, wolfsbane and aconite were not included because they were classed as muggle poisons. Harry had picked up a copy of The Language of Flowers and the overall message was 'Sorrowful regret your mother dying'. That was the best Harry could get. It would not save Snape.

First year DADA spells were nothing to write home about. That went for all the first-year subjects. Hermione had got 110% in Charms. Harry was repeating and would be disappointed if he did not do better. Professor Sinistra was actually competent. Harry was using a much better telescope this time. Harry knew he could impress Professor Flitwick. McGonagall was a disappointment. Harry hated Binns. Harry hated Snape. Harry liked Sprout. Then there was the Quirrellmort. Harry did not know how to deal with him. Well, he did, but not when.

Harry concentrated on learning the first-year curriculum. He wished he'd done that first time around. Amelia Bones gave him a portkey to bring him from the Hogwarts Express and then return him. Harry was essential for killing a large number of Death Eaters. She had known that Fudge would never have approved.

Barty Crouch had his home invaded and searched. Junior was found and Kissed by a Dementor. Crouch Senior was going to be on trial. September 1st rolled around. Harry left his trolley in storage at King's Cross. Hedwig was released. Harry entered the carriage in which Neville and Hermione were already sitting. Trevor tried to get by him, but Harry's seeker reflexes caught the frog. He put him in a frog trap that he'd bought. Trevor would travel to Hogwarts in style.

Neville introduced himself, stuttering. Harry was sure Neville knew who he was.

"You look like you know me. If that was before my parents were killed, I don't remember you," Harry said.

"That's okay Harry. I forgot most people after what happened to my parents. You were just lucky."

Harry laughed. "I'm Hermione granger. Please to meet you." Hermione had her hand held out.

Neither Harry nor Neville took it. Harry said, "Miss Granger there is a pecking order amongst wizards and witches. Neville and I are both members of a Noble and Most Ancient House. His are the Longbottoms and mine is Potter."

"I've read about you, you're in three books."

"Do you have the books with you?" Harry asked.

"Yes," Hermione said.

"I would like to borrow them. In exchange, you may talk to me without waiting for me to invite you to speak."

"I accept, your lordship."

"At 1:50 pm, Harry rummaged in his bag and changed into his Wizengamot outfit. Hermione gulped and looked away. At 1:58 Harry entered the Wizengamot chamber along with Arcturus Black and Abraxas Malfoy. At 2pm, Albus Dumbledore brought down his gavel.

"What's the meaning of this, Dumbledore? Why are people who have no right sitting seats that are the rightful property of Houses Black, Malfoy and Potter?"

"Get out of my seats," Harry snarled. Aurors moved to arrest those people. They were stilled by Dumbledore raising a hand.

"Aurors continue and arrest those people illegally sitting in Wizengamot seats. Did you bother reading the minutes of the last meeting, Albus?" The aurors arrested the people who looked forlornly at Dumbledore.

Dumbledore attempted to start the Agenda.

"Trials take precedence and we've a number to get through," Amelia Bones said.

"We've the trials of those illegally sitting in Wizengamot seats, too," Abraxas Malfoy said, venomously. The three sat in their seats.

"You should be on the Hogwarts Express, Harry."

"Call me Harry again and I will kill you where you stand. Until I am sorted, I am not under your authority, an authority that is severely limited by the fact that I am a Legacy student," Harry said, evenly.

"Amelia Bones, please call the first defendant," Amos Diggory asked.

"Bartholemew Crouch senior, you are charged with line theft under Resume House. You are charged with illegally assisting the escape of a Death Eater from Azkaban, namely your son, who was captured and Kissed. You sent Lord Potter's godfather to Azkaban without trial. How do you plead?"

"Guilty," Barty said. He was sent through the Veil, escorted by Robards and Scrimgeour. Trials for 30 Death Eaters quickly followed. Harry found himself 500000 galleons richer. Those who had sat in the Wizengamot seats had been released. On Dumbledore's orders. Lord Arcturus Black was outraged.

"Regent Bones, issue warrants for the arrest of those miscreants. Albus Dumbledore you will turn over Severus Tobais Snape for trial on October 1st 1991," Lord Black demanded. Dumbledore merely smiled. Harry wanted to smash the smug git in the face.

Harry had ordered his new galleons banked with the Dwarves of Dundee. He advised them that he was looking to rent a property in Hogsmeade.

Harry was back on the Express and got changed again. He chatted with both Neville and Hermione about going into Houses that matched their personalities. Both looked thoughtful as the train pulled into Hogsmeade. Hagrid did his call for First Years and greeted Harry. Harry greeted him back. The four in their boat were Neville, Hermione, Harry and Blaise Zabini. Harry caught sight of Ron Weasley looking daggers drawn at Blaise. He almost laughed. The first sight of the Castle was as magnificent as Harry remembered.

Harry listened to McGonagall's spiel about family and House Points. He thought about interrupting, but decided against it. The 40 first years entered the Great Hall in two lines. Harry listened to the Sorting Hat's song. Harry tuned it out. He was simply uninterested. The Hat sounded in his mind.

"Why are you so bored?"

"Sort people where they should go, not where you've been told to sort them. I'm Legacy. I'll be choosing Ravenclaw. Please put Hermione Granger there too. I think you'll find that is where she truly belongs. If she ums and aahs telling her I said that. She devours knowledge."

The first to not go where Harry remembered was Hermione Granger. She went to Ravenclaw. Antony Goldstein went to Gryffindor. Neville Longbottom went to Hufflepuff. Both Patel sisters went to Gryffindor. Harry went to Ravenclaw. Zacharias Smith went to Gryffindor. The final shocks were kept for the last two to be sorted. Ron Weasley went to Slytherin and Blaise Zabini went to Gryffindor.

Dumbledore said his first four words. "Nitwit, blubber, oddment, tweak." Harry had never asked Dumbledore what he had meant. He had no interest in finding out. He was too interested in eating. He tuned Dumbledore's end of meal speech and did not join in with the school song, a cacophony of noise. Harry did hear George and Fred Weasley. Harry thought their funeral march was apposite. Harry got out before Malfoy could come over.

He had a riddle asking door to get through. Riddle was certainly standing in his way. Harry made his way into the Ravenclaw common room. Penny Clearwater, fifth year prefect, told them about the library, the House ghost, and Flitwick. Quite what she saw in Percy 'Uptight' Weasley, Harry could not fathom. Penny told them that all their lessons would be with Hufflepuff, except flying and astronomy.

News that Harry would not be seeing Malfoy or Ron delighted Harry. He did have to get his trunks to Hogwarts. Clothes and books at any rate. He could do that on the morrow. He had a single room with a bookcase and a table as standard. The dorm was actually set up as a place to study. That was a surprise in a school as lackadaisical as Hogwarts. Harry made the room Unplottable, Untrackable and Untraceable. Harry would not give Dumbledore any opportunity to 'bug' him. This mattered a great deal to Harry. Harry locked his door and made his way out of Hogwarts. He flooed from Hogsmeade to King's Cross station and retrieved his luggage. He then porkeyed to Godric's Hollow. Hedwig was already waiting for him. He fed his own and let her out. He set everything up. Hedwig flew back to pick up the letter to Tonks to arrange for the leasing of a property in Hogsmeade via the Dwarves.

Harry got ready for bed. He enjoyed sleeping in his own bed. He wished he could sleep longer, when he awoke the following morning. He'd hung up his Wizengamot finery. He had now worn it twice. He felt at home in the Wizengamot. He knew Dumbledore was not pleased he was there. The look on Dumbledore's face when Arcturus Black and Abraxas Malfoy had appeared with him had been so shocked. Dumbledore had only been expecting him. Harry laughed. That was the last thing he remembered doing before falling asleep.

Harry got up and got ready for the day. 6am was far too early to be getting up. It did not matter that he'd been doing it for years. He was back at King's Cross before 6:15. He had his trunk and telescope and scales and cauldron all attached and under feather light charms for his floo to Hogsmeade and walk back into Hogwarts. He had everything unpacked and ready for the day for 6:30. The door had asked him a simple riddle. Harry had thanked the door. 5 minutes later Harry had showered, brushed his teeth and hair, not necessarily in that order and by 6:45 was standing in the Infirmary.

"Hello, dear, what are you doing here," Poppy asked.

"I am Lord Potter of the Noble and Most Excellent House of Potter. I believe I have been subjected to abuse and criminal actions against me. I am here for the mandated health check you must perform on all students. The only people you may allow the results of these test to be aware of are myself and Regent Amelia Bones!"

"Yes, my Lord." Harry thought Poppy was being flippant. As she performed the diagnostics, her face took on a shocked and horrified look. At the end, she flooed the results to Amelia Bones. Harry went off to eat. Half an hour later he was back. Poppy had no memory of having performed any check what soever. Amelia Bones did. She told Poppy that she had been sent a copy of her report. The one she'd had was mysteriously not there. Harry summoned the chief Hogwarts house-elf and told him in no uncertainty terms that if the house-elves obeyed Albus Dumbledore in doing anything against his property or person, he would give them all clothes. The House-elf assured Harry that they would never do such a thing. Harry aware that house-elves could lie, ordered the House-elf to bound personally with him. The house-elf vanished. So much for honesty.

Harry rushed back to the Great Hall. A second breakfast. He needed his timetable, anyway.

"Penny, what's a summoning spell," Harry asked.

Penny demonstrated the spell with wand movements and said, "accio."

Harry copied her wand movements and said, "Accio Medical report." Harry waited for the report to appear, but joined iin getting the timetables from Penny. 5 minutes later, Harry saw the report speeding towards him. A wandless, silent spell to protect it and the Report entered his grasp. Penny looked at the title and demonstrated the sonorous spell. Harry used it.

"Headmaster, only two people have access to this report, by Law, are myself and Poppy Pomfrey. As everyone should be aware a health check in the first few days of each school year is mandated."

"I do not see that one is required." Dumbledore attempted to gain control of the situation.

"What you see or don't see is immaterial. It's in the Hogwarts Charter. You're in violation. Perhaps you would like to explain why it is the Poppy does not remember doing the health check on me."

"I see no purpose to doing that."

"Filed and reported to the Board of Governors, where they will require your answer or they will fire you. I shall return this to Poppy. Should I not make it, I hope, Headmaster, that you are ripped into shreds." Harry set off to give the report back to Poppy. He had not seen Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle. Harry had a protego cast on himself. It held against four spells sending them back to each caster. Harry gave the report to Poppy. He then went back to the Ravenclaw dorms to pick up his things for the first day's lessons.

The first lesson was Charms. Harry sat next to Hermione. Harry stopped Hermione answering questions. Flitwick noticed.

"Mr Potter, why are you stopping Miss Granger from answering. Don't you think she know the answer?"

"Miss Granger has an eidetic memory, Professor. She can tell you what the text you assigned says about anything you ask, word for word. If she's come across a differing view in another textbook, she can tell you that. She will also tell you which answer she thinks is right with reasons drawn from Magical Theory. It's fine, Professor, if you would like Hermione to answer your questions. If nobody else knows you can always come back to Miss Granger."

Flitwick let Hermione answer three questions. He found that it was just as Mr Potter had said. Hermione got 15 points and Harry 10. Hermi0one got frustrated that she was not getting the chance to answer there after.

"Miss Granger," Flitwick said. "It has been a longtime since anyone displayed your interest and aptitude for Charms. I look forward to chatting to you in the common room and setting you some work for extra credits."

"Miss Granger, I am, unless I missed my guess, sure that you have just been offered the path to a Mastery in Charms. It's not something to be passed up. I very much doubt anyone else has ever received that offer in the first lesson."

"Yes, Professor, it would be my honour," Hermione choked out.

"Excellent." The diminutive Professor began lecturing again. By the time he came to assigning homework, Flitwick saw Harry shaking his head as he said 'at least' for the length of the essay. Flitwick amended his requirements to 'at most'.

The next lesson was Transfiguration and the matchstick into needle trick. Harry let Hermione do hers first, before doing his. Harry was able to go attend the Hogwarts' Governor's meeting. Madam Pomphrey got paid a fine by Dumbledore. He wasn't fired. They could not find a 10th governor to vote for that. Harry was not pleased by that outcome. Lunch did not taste so good after that kick in the teeth. Hermione noticed that Harry was down. Hermione was popular and she liked that feeling. Harry was left to suffer.

Harry Potter did not get to attend the DADA that afternoon. He was taken away by Ministry officials from the Department of Mysteries. Harry was led into a house in Hogsmeade, where he met Sual Croaker, Head Unspeakable.

"Lord Potter, I understand you are planning on changing time, in a few very unfortunate and violent ways. The Department cannot allow you to do this. We already have 25 people erased from history as a result of Eloise Mintumble's 4 days in 1400. That's ten more people than had been erased 100 years ago. We still have not got to the bottom of that. You've already killed 40 people we have reason to believe had important roles to play. Only the fact that these were very bad people is the Department allowing you to stay here. The lives you've saved also have to be factored in. You are important to the timeline. Hence our conversation."

"Dumbledore has my great uncle's time-turner. He is violating Department rules and you've done nothing about it. Nothing for 45 years. Snape murdered my family and treated me like shit at Hogwarts. I will not tolerate that. Bullied and betrayed. The story of my life. I will not allow You-Know-Who to teach at Hogwarts. I am trying to make things better. I may not succeed, but that will not be for lack of trying." Harry looked furious. Not easy for a small 11-year-old boy to achieve.

Saul Croaker had heard that Harry was eager to please authority figures. That was clearly not accurate. This was Lord Potter who had quite calmly sent 40 men and women to their deaths. He had not shed a tear nor raised his voice. If Saul did not know better, Lord Potter would have worn the same expression taking out the trash. Saul knew there were niceties involved when officials from the British Ministry visited Hogsmeade, which was in the jurisdiction of the Scottish Ministry for Magic. It usually took weeks before that Ministry would grant access. This had been immediate. That had been unusual enough of itself. This visit had been sanctioned by the Scottish Minister for Magic, herself.

The department had performed research and run tests. Little Harry James Potter was a central figure in the timeline. Saul Croaker had limited options. 40 Death Eaters sent through the Veil or Kissed. Barty Crouch Junior apprehended and Kissed by a Dementor. Barty Senior sent to Azkaban. People had been saved and Peter Pettigrew no longer appeared on the Wall of Life. Gellert Grindelwald no longer appeared on it either. Diggory was the Minister instead of that idiot Fudge. Diggory wasn't that much of an improvement, mind. The Hogwarts Board of Governors was now firmly against the Dark 9-3 and against Dumbledore by the same margin. The Department was aware that Dumbledore possessed Charlus Potter's time-turner. Unlike the Ministry time-turners, which were one use, maximum 5 hours back, Charlus' was a full range time-turner. It could go back and forward in time with an unlimited span. The Department was convinced Dumbledore had possessed it, but could never be sure as he'd never tripped any of the time-sensors. Now, thanks to the Goblins, the Department did know. The Goblins had not wanted anything for the information. That was most odd.

Saul Croaker had been dismayed to find out, during research into little Harry, that the Department had signed a Treaty with Dumbledore, before Saul's time as Head Unspeakable, to not tell any Potter that they owned the time-turners the Ministry allowed people to use.

Amelia Bones had allowed the Department to read Harry's medical report. The malnutrition and lack of height had been treated by a potions regimen. That suggested that an adult Harry Potter had come back and had been 'here' for some considerable time. Saul had a chuckle at his own joke.

Harry Potter watched Saul Croaker leave. He was about to leave when a familiar face appeared at the door.

"Sirius," Harry shouted as he flung himself that the man and hugged him. Harry's face was in Sirius' stomach.

"Hey, pup, it's good to see you too. My grandfather sends his regards, too. We've leased this property for you. There's a whole bunch of forms we had to get from the Scottish Ministry. They boil down to this.: You can come and go from Hogwarts anytime you want with up to six friends."

"That's good," Harry said, uncertainly.

"I've told Remus to get back here, pronto." Sirius looked pleased.

"If Remus has made a new life for himself, he should stay there. He was my parents' friend. He is not my friend."

Sirius looked chastened. "You're right, Prongslet. I'll send another owl."

"You do that. Godfather."

"We'll be equipping this house for you over the next day or two. You'll be able to move in at the end of the week."

"That's great!" Harry said.

"You'll have electrical equipment in this property. Try not to short it out," Sirius advised.

"Okay," Harry said. Harry walked around the house. It was bigger than the Dursleys had. It was all Harry's. It even had a telephone. The connection would be finalized on the morrow. Harry knew from the Dursleys how long getting a new phone installed could take. Somebody was working very hard to make good things happen for him. That was a novel feeling.

Harry made his way back to Hogwarts. He changed for Dinner. He sat next to Hermione who told him she'd taken notes for him. She said, Quirrell the DADA professor, spoke with a heavy stutter. Harry ate rather than read the notes. He'd copy them up after he had eaten. He chatted with Hermione. She did not say what had passed between her and her parents. Harry finished his meal. He'd drained his last flagon of pumpkin juice. Hermione had already left. Draco Malfoy was on his way over, with his two book end guards.

"You should be more careful about who you talk to," Draco Malfoy said.

"I have not given you leave to address Draco Malfoy," Harry's said, voice like ice. "Never address me again, or I will kill you where you stand." Harry rose, picked up the notes and walked out of the Great Hall. Harry went to his dorm room and copied the notes and wrote the essay Quirrell had wanted, as homework. He was just about to turn in, when Flitwick called on him. Harry locked up. He went out to see what Flitwick wanted.

"Mr Potter, Dumbledore has demanded your presence," Flitwick said.

"At this hour?" Harry asked.

"Yes."

"What is this concerning?" Harry asked.

"Dumbledore did not say," Flitwick replied.

"The Hogwarts Charter states that he must. I decline to be summoned." Harry went back into his room and locked up again, leaving Flitwick just standing there. Flitwick went off to inform Dumbledore.

The following morning, Harry sent an owl off to Sirius telling him about Dumbledore's attempt to summon him. Dumbledore attempted to get Harry to do something at breakfast. Since he kept calling Harry, 'Harry', Harry ignored him. Double Herbology was followed by Double History of Magic. Harry despised Binns. At the end of the class Harry turned to Neville and asked, "What do we have to do to get rid of Cuthbert Binns?"

Binns heard, of course he heard. Students had been trying to get rid of him for a couple of hundred years. They would not succeed. He was a part of Hogwarts. They could no more get rid of him than they could Hogwarts.

Harry went to see Myrtle Warren. She was in her toilet.

"Boys aren't allowed in here. Leave."

"Hello Myrtle, I'm Harry Potter, by the way. Leave is the thing, you see. I want to Binns to leave."

"Got something against the dead teaching?"

"No, Myrtle, nothing like that. I think you'd make a brilliant History of Magic teacher."

"Getting him to leave will not be a simple matter. After I haunted Olive Hornby to her death, I came back to Hogwarts. People were not happy. Even the ghosts did not want me around. I had to fight a case in the Wizengamot for leave to stay at Hogwarts, forever. I won."

"If Binns goes the same route, would you prosecute?"

"Oooh nobody has ever asked for my help. If you should die Harry Potter, there is room in my toilet for two. I think you will have plenty of chances to die, Harry Potter."

"Me have chances to die in the safest place in the country," Harry scoffed. "Sadly, I think Hogwarts is anything but safe for me. Will you help?"

"I shall. I'll ask the other ghosts for help." Myrtle moved off through the pipes. Harry had done what he could. Harry thought he had stopped Draco from becoming a pain in the neck. He was dealing with Binns. He could not dance around Dumbledore forever. Snape was still an on the horizon threat.

The flying lesson passed without a hitch. There were 40 new brooms. Neville did not fall off and Harry did not get added to a quidditch teams without his agreement. The only bas comments came from Ron Weasley. He now seemed to accept his Sorting, if he could make snide remarks about Harry Potter. That would probably go down well with Snape.

Harry did his homework before the evening meal. As Harry had expected, Dumbledore demanded to see him after he had finished eating. Harry was not certain his obliviate would take on Dumbledore and he could not guarantee that Dumbledore had not used a pensive to back up his memories. That's if he'd picked a new one up after returning the Potter pensieve.

Harry had his meeting with Dumbledore. It went how he thought it would. Dumbledore told him to respect his professors, not threaten students with death and to obey him. Harry said no to all Dumbledore's requests. Dumbledore drew his wand on him. Harry had his rosewood wand on the spring-loaded discharge and beat Dumbledore to it. Harry sent Dumbledore back into the wall with his disarming charm. The phoenix was not present. That helped. Harry helped himself to the items Dumbledore had on him, the Elderwand, the time-turner and one weird contraption. He then obliviated Dumbledore. He left Dumbledore with the idea that they had had a good talk. Harry had agreed to Dumbledore's stipulations. Harry was not sure about how 'obey' would work with the obliviate.

Harry left and went to Gringotts via Hogsmeade. He placed the three items he'd taken from Dumbledore in his main vault. Harry's jaw had dropped to the ground, when he saw machines that looked like they had come straight out of HG Well's The Time Machine. Well, that was unexpected.

Harry found Sirius in his house in Hogsmeade, putting the finishing touches to the decorations.

"Hi Sirius, you do realise that I am in Ravenclaw, don't you?"

Sirius, looking at the red and gold theme done throughout the house, said, "Oh dear. I'll get it changed tomorrow. You'll need to sign the leasehold papers on Friday."

"The evening works for me. What can you tell be about Snape?"

"Snivellus is a vile human being. He heard two lines of prophecy from Trelawney before we could drive him out. He told them to Voldemort."

"Two lines?" Harry queried.

"Yes, two lines in her own voice," Sirius said. "She did not give the full prophecy."

"What about Quirrell?" Harry needed to know.

"He was the Muggles Studies Professor. He went to Albania to find Voldemort to stop everyone laughing at him. He was going to kill him. Rather strange, considering you'd already done that. He met a rajah who gave him his turban and he wears garlic to keep the vampires away."

"Does garlic actually work?" Harry asked.

"No, but vampires do hate the smell. Useful to know, if you're ever surrounded by them," Sirius replied. Flitwick told me you had seen Dumbledore alone. Ted Tonks has issued a Writ against Dumbledore and Hogwarts for violating the Hogwarts Charter. Abraxas Malfoy has written to Draco telling him that he is not to approach you."

"Draco will be told that there is nothing I can do, if he does. Dumbledore allows bullying full reign."

"That's down to me and my friends, sorry, pup," Sirius said.

"I think it has been a mark of Dumbledore's tenure as Headmaster," Harry responded. Sirius nodded. "Please file a case against Cuthbert Binns deceased to force him to leave Hogwarts, Myrtle Warren deceased to prosecute."

"You are full of surprises, pup. I shall ask Abraxas to speak with Draco and Snivellus."

Harry went back up to Hogwarts. He was not expecting to see Fred and George Weasley. He did. They were blocking his access. This was unacceptable.

"Well, well, Harrykins, what do we have here?" George said.

"I invite you both to get out of my way." Harry made to get by. He was blocked. They blocked as if a team. Harry remembered that was exactly what they were. A pair of beaters. The best at Hogwarts. He used seeker sneakiness to get by. The two Gryffindors were astounded.

The answer to the riddle the door asked was Time. Harry wondered how the door knew. He made his way to his dorm room and performed the magic to gain him access. He would go through the same process to go and shower and brush his teeth. Harry disliked being naked for it meant he was without his wands. He was vulnerable and he did not like it.

Harry was able to go over his essays with Hermione Wednesday morning. She thought they were very good. Harry did find it strange that none of the Ravenclaw first years were offered a complete set of Binns lectures plus the essays that came up on the OWLs and NEWTs most often. In fact, Harry asked a NEWT seventh year why this was the case. This was Blenkinskip, the Head Boy.

"Potter, we've been told not to sell them to any first year and most especially you." Blenkinskip gulped. Harry noted that he was afraid. Harry was more interested in who had ordered such a stupid policy. A quarter of the Sacred 28 were in his year alone. A fifth of the Wizengamot as a whole. It was worse than that. Every member of the Wizengamot had been taught by Binns and had bought the essays. Binns would be out, no problem.

Harry enjoyed the Astronomy lesson more than he had first time round. He was sure it was the fact he had a telescope worthy of the name. He remembered he'd had a piece of garbage. Not this time. Thursday morning was time for a mid-morning start and Harry did his homework before lunch. He had time to open his Potions textbooks. Thursday afternoon 2-4 was when he'd face Snape. Things would be very different this time around.

Snape began to take the registry of Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff first years. He reached Harry Potter, spawn of James Potter. Time had not dulled the rage he felt towards the man.

"Ah Harry Potter. Our new celebrity."

"What's my celebrity got to do with your ability to teach potions?" Harry interrupted.

"Ten points from Gryffindor and a weeks detention with me," Snape responded.

"For what?" Harry demanded.

"Make that two weeks," Snape was just getting started.

"The Hogwarts Charter makes it clear that you must explain why you are seeking to punish me?" Harry stated, calmly.

"Go to the Headmaster."

"No. I challenge every point deduction and detention you have ever made," Harry said. He could hear what sounded like a bell. Hogwarts had taken note. Until the challenge was answered, Snape could not punish anybody.

"The potion you'll be making today is one to cure boils. Even you dunderheads should be able to do that. Instructions are on the board."

Harry was paired with Hermione. He tested the cauldron that they would be using. He set out his tools. He would clean them and the cauldron. Hermione watched Harry work.

"What are you doing, Potter?" Snape demanded.

"Checking that my cauldron meets the Ministry regulations and that it and my tools are clean and in the case of the cutters sharp enough to work as intended."

Snape then asked his three questions.

"None of those questions are answered in the first year assigned textbooks. The first is the Draught of the Living Death, which is NEWT level and not taught here, because you can't teach it. The bezoar is not a herb or magical plant. It can be found in many different stomach's including humans, but the best are in goats. Of course, a well-stocked supply cupboard will have several. Aconite is the name of the same plant, different locations, for wolfsbane and monkshood. That you regret the death of my mother does not mean anything to me, Death Eater."

Snape had not been talked to like that since, well James Potter. "Your arrogance and insolence are just like your father."

"I am not my father. You'd do well to remember that.," Harry said. He then turned his attention to the potion. He remembered to tell Neville to turn down the heat before he added the porcupine quills.

Snape set no homework. Harry was not surprised to be summoned to see Dumbledore, again. On arrival, Harry found Flitwick missing. Snape, however, was there.

"Now, Harry," Dumbledore said, after Harry had sat down.

"We have no familial connection. I've told you many times not to call me by my first name. I call upon Lady Magic to punish you should you ever do so again." Harry delivered that statement in a calm manner.

"You must lift the challenge to Professor Snape's authority and submit to his punishment," Dumbledore said, evenly, his eyes twinkling.

"Professor Snape failed to inform of his reason for punishment as required by Hogwarts Charter. When he persisted, I was and am within my rights under said Charter to challenge every point awarded or deducted or detention meted out. Where is my Head of House?"

"Your Head of House is not needed," Dumbledore asserted. Harry got up and walked towards the door. His wand was already in his hand. His automatic protego repulsed a stunner cast by Snape and he turned and fired a disarming charm at Dumbledore. He reached the door and carried on walking through the space where it had been. Hogwarts replaced it before the pair inside came around.

Harry made his way to see Flitwick. He explained what had happened and the context. Flitwick looked unhappy. Harry left the man and wrote a letter that he sent off with Hedwig to Sirius Black. Dumbledore was sure to order Flitwick to rescind permission for Harry to leave Hogwarts.

Sure enough, Harry met with Flitwick after lunch on Friday and was told that Dumbledore had ordered him to rescind his authorisation for Harry to leave Hogwarts. Flitwick did have the decency to look unhappy.

This did not stop Harry leaving anyway. The Weasley twins did try to stop him. A couple of stunners later, the Weasleys were on the ground asleep and Harry retrieved the Marauders Map.

At the house Harry was renting, he found Sirius and a party of four other Blacks waiting for him. The people he was renting from were also present along with representatives from the Scottish magical government, Scottish Herald (Magical Edition) and Dwarves from their bank.

Harry signed the rental agreements and posed for pictures with the Scottish Minister for Magic, a Hamish McTavish. Harry said a few words to the reporter. Lord Black said a few more. The Dwarves announced a shed ton of loans thanks to Harry investing 500,000 galleons with them.

The guests had left and the Blacks and Harry were cleaning up and putting everything away. The front door then exploded and Dumbledore, Snape and McGonagall burst in, wands drawn. A couple of stunners were thrown by a wizard outside the door. Lord Abraxas Malfoy entered looking like he was a cat that had just caught the canary.

"What will you do now, Headmaster?" Harry asked.
