BSL and JNP were sitting around the Guild Hall, not really sure what to do. Ruby was confined to her house for who knew how long and Ren wasn't supposed to exert himself lest he reopen the wound again.
"Should we go on a mission together?" Blake finally asked.
"Probably, we're both down a member, and there's safety in numbers," Pyrrha said.
"Do you want me to pick one?" Blake asked, to nodding all around. Standing up, she walked to the board, slightly nervous as this was only the second or third time she had picked out a mission herself.
Scanning the board, she finally settled on a job to take out the Dark Guild Shadow's Reach. It wouldn't make them much money, split six or seven ways, but it was better than nothing.
Walking out of the guild as a group, they went to find a carriage that would bring them to the town of Orchid.
—
Orchid, as it turned out, was all but deserted, the only building with occupants being the church/guild hall of Shadow's Reach. The six walked towards the building with weapons drawn. Two guards standing outside, cloaked men with magic shotguns in hand. They snapped them up as the team approached, firing without letting them get a word in.
Pyrrha distorted space, forcing the attack to go around the group. Swinging the arm holding Akoùo down, she slammed both men into the dirt, a magical seal in the palm of her hand and held them there until they blacked out from the pressure
Yang kicked down the doors of the building, already glowing with Heavenly Body magic. Meanwhile Weiss wrote the word "lightning" in the air and flicked it into a glyph, lightning flying from the glyph as Yang stepped to the side, blasting several guild members that had suddenly been bound in place by shadowy strings.
Jaune rushed in, sending a shotgun blast of ashes out that knocked several more off their feet. He followed it up by breathing in deeply and then roaring, ash flying from his mouth and knocking twenty of the guild members against the wall, sections of their skin torn off.
Pyrrha repeated the gesture from outside, crushing guild members against the floor until they crashed through the wooden floor into the basement below. At the same time, she distorted space so she could fire Miló into more guild members' guts at point blank range from across the room with shock rounds.
Nora ditched the ranged combat the rest of her team was doing, knocking people around with one handed sweeps of Magnhild.
Yang opened a door, only to blink.
"Hello?" A voice said from inside, "My name is Sting Eucliffe, and these are Rogue Cheney, Lector and Froche. Are you here to rescue us?"
—
Sting stood in front of the large, orange building with a flag marked with the Fairy Tail symbol on it fluttering in the breeze. Fairy Tail, the strongest guild. Sorcerer Weekly said it had two Dragon Slayers and even a God Slayer (who, from the photoshoots of her, was very pretty in Sting's opinion). He wondered which was stronger, a dragon or a god?
Yang pushed open the door, walking in and calling, "Master, we have a couple of new members!"
"So even Ruby's kids have started to bring in members?" An old man said good naturedly, walking towards them, "Who are these two?"
"I'm Sting Eucliffe," Sting said, "And this is Rogue Cheney, Frosch and Lector. Can we please join Fairy Tail?"
"What kind of magic do you use?" The Master said.
"I have White Dragon Slayer Magic," Sting said proudly.
"And I have Shadow Dragon Slayer Magic," Rogue added.
"Two new Dragon Slayers, eh?" He said, "Well, let's get you the mark. And Maybe Ruby can give you some advice on White magic, she uses White God Slayer Magic."
"Can I meet her?" Sting asked excitedly. He would love to challenge her to a fight, even if he k ew he would lose.
"Mirajane!" The Master called, "Do you think Ruby is up for visitors?"
"She should be. She's stuck on the couch is all."
"Yang, why don't you take Sting to meet your sister?"
—
Ruby sat on the couch, watching one of her favorite rom coms though one eye, leg up on the table. She was, honestly, bored out of her mind. She had been stuck here a week and it was probably going to be at least one more before she recovered enough for Erza and Mira to let her leave the house. A doctor had estimated that that's how long the burns on the bottom of her feet from lightning exiting them.
Ruby ate another strawberry, turning off the movie and shifting so she was lying on the couch. This sucked. She'd never been stuck for this long, even when she had to recover from injuries in the past. She had at least been allowed to visit the Guild Hall.
She heard the door unlock with a click, Yang waking in with a blonde haired boy Ruby didn't recognize.
"Welcome back," Ruby said, "Who's this?"
"Sting Eucliffe," the boy said, shyly, "and you're Ruby Rose, right? The White God Slayer."
"Yeah, that's me."
"I'm the White Dragon Slayer," Sting continued, still barely poking out from Yang's back, "Do you think you could give me some tips?"
"I'll train with you when I'm recovered," Ruby promised the kid.
