Chapter one:
Haruhi believes that she is settling in nicely at her new school with the demons. She doesn't have any friends however that is fine as she wasn't looking for friends here. She keeps on dismissing this weird chills down her spine since surely being the only human in a school of demons will feel odd. She has noticed them only watching on occasion though never daring to do more or seem like a threat in anyway. She has been managing her good grades and really hopes that she can keep up this momentum. "Alright. Let's find somewhere to study." She mumbles to herself as the library is much more packed than she would like. She also isn't really a fan of how two demons are glaring at each other. She has a gut feeling that they are about to start a fight… One that she would rather not be in the middle of considering that she is just a human and is more easily damaged by things demons do. She tries the courtyard knowing that it is a long shot though whenever she gets to be out there to study it is the BEST spot. She sighs to herself figuring of course that this spot is crowded as well. She heads away to try to find another spot as surely there is another place that is open. She tries all of her usual spots, behind the school where two demons are practicing some magic circles, the backstage of the school stage where today there is a demon practicing lines as if he were to be summoned by a human, the classroom where Haruhi's desk is only to find that it has been shifted around for some art students to use to plan an event, and she even tries the video game room which is usually only sounded by soft button clicking if one or two are in there however today the whole club is in the room gaming away on one game together even talking. She sighs heavily thinking that she might just have to try to study at home as much as she has got other things to do there. She walks down a quiet hallway and starts to get her hopes up.
School studying is preferred to home studying if possible. Allows for more to get done.
Haruhi walks over to one of the rooms. "Surely I could just borrow this room for some studying." She whispers to herself and she reaches for the doorknob. She gets a dark chill down her spine. She glances around trying to figure out what could be going on this time. She surely can't be watched right now. She doesn't see anyone or any shadows that she has picked up on that demons can hide in. She carefully studied the various shadows demons could leap into by secretly watching. She hasn't seen any demon go into a shadow that is a certain size of small. She wants to know what to watch out for just to be safe. She turns to the door finding her gaze drifting down to the doorknob. She wonders if her imagination is trying to take over as the doorknob feels weird almost like she should reconsider what she is currently doing. She shakes her head a little while mentally telling herself to not be so paranoid. She grabs the door handle and pushes it open. Her eyes track some red rose petals that fly past her with some purple sparkles indicating magic used. She can't see anything for a moment due to a flash of light that somehow doesn't hurt her eyes. She blinks as she spots a group of male demons in the room surrounding one who is sitting in a chair.
"Welcome!" They all greet in unison with charming smiles.
Haruhi pauses and glances around before noticing a sign that looks to have just been brought inside with a time for when the host club opens. She pauses for a moment at what club this is then lets out a breath. She figures that of course this is how today would go. "Sorry. Not here to stay. Just was trying to find a place to study." She turns around to leave however not a second after turning around she feels an arm on her shoulder and the hairs on her arms standing on end.
"No need to go just yet." An almost melodic guy voice mentions compelling Haruhi to maybe stay a bit which she tries to mentally refuse. "Surely fate has something in store for you if you are brought here to our very lovely club room." His eyes leave chills where they look over her form. "The only human in school brought to our club room. There has to be something more at play." He pulls Haurhi closer to his body. "How about you stay awhile. Have some tea and sweets. I think that you will love what we have on the menu today."
"Not interested." Haruhi moves her body away from whichever of the males has her by the shoulders. She is surprised to find that he does let her go rather easily… Though he still hangs around very close to her which keeps the chills going. "I really need to study before I go home."
"Stay and I will offer you a ride home. Of course we won't force you to stay." The boy offers and Haruhi moves away from him only to groan a little spotting the blonde male to be between her and the door.
Haruhi starts to walk to try to go around him even as he keeps approaching with his best charming smile that he can muster at the moment. "Thanks however it really is important that I get this studying done. Somewhere quiet."
"Come now. Fate is shining a light upon our paths meeting. At least give it a chance to know why fate has brought us together for this meeting." The blonde stands dramatically still managing to walk to follow Haruhi holding dramatic poses.
Haruhi doesn't understand the appeal of being able to do that as it looks too goofy and overdramatic. "I'm good. Really I am."
"Well… I suppose if you're really sure." The blonde looks disappointed almost like a kicked puppy making Haruhi feel a little guilty.
Haruhi is about to thank him for letting her leave when she pauses as she knocks into something. She spins around to see what she had run into. Her eyes landing upon a cute yet almost the size of her statue of a fox demon which in its mouth holds a heart locket. She spots that the locket is made up of gold with four pink gemstones on the heart itself. She watches it for a moment as the locket slips from the fox demon's mouth landing on the floor. "Oh. I am so sorry I didn't mean to drop it." She reaches down to pick up the locket not noticing anything wrong with it.
"Wait! Don't do that!" One of the males calls out to her only for her hand to wrap around the heart before she can stop it.
Haruhi freezes feeling weird jolts of electricity run through her body. Her mind starts racing and only for a moment can she wonder just what this locket truly is.
