Expectations are resentments waiting to happen.

Koa finally made it out of Home-Sweet-Home. She made it to the porch, but then she was suddenly grabbed from behind. Her assailant turned her over and pinned her down. Koa gasped in fear.
'It can't be! Huggy Wuggy?!' He looked her dead in the eyes and growled. He leaned forward slowly, preparing to strike while Koa reached for her knife.
"NO! NO! LET GO!"
Just then, Poppy came to her defense, standing next to Koa, holding a lit flashlight. Huggy then backed off, but once the flashlight shined on him, Koa realized it wasn't Huggy at all. It was actually Kissy Missy.
"She didn't do anything wrong!" Poppy said. Kissy then looked at Koa and backed off completely. Poppy then turned her attention to Koa, "we're actually here to help." She sighed and continued, tension in her voice. "This place makes her tense. I'm glad that Ollie could help you get this far. He's the reason we found you at all."
She and Kissy moved aside to give Koa some space to sit up, who grunted in pain as her bruises started acting up. Poppy sighed in grief and guilt, causing Koa to look over, finding Poppy standing on Kissy's right shoulder.
"Looks like the train crash hurt us both. You've been through so much!" Poppy sighed again in resignation and said, "you deserve an explanation."
"Oh now you explain!? Yes, Poppy. Do tell why you kidnapped me! You said you'd help me leave and you break your promise! Please explain!" Koa said, not even trying to hold back her anger.
Poppy flinched at her outburst, she then gently said, "come on."
Kissy turned around and walked to the wall of the dome. Assuming Poppy wanted to go somewhere safer to talk, Koa stood up and followed. She noticed Kissy tense up again.
"Hey, you'll be okay," Poppy quietly comforted her. "We'll be okay."
Once they made it to the wall of the dome, Kissy knelt down and held out her paw. Poppy hoped onto Kissy's paw and Kissy held her to the panel, which Poppy opened and pulled a switch. In the corner behind them, the floor panels opened up, revealing an elevator. Kissy brought Poppy back to her shoulder and Poppy climbed back up. Kissy then boarded the elevator, waiting for Koa to join them, hugging her arms to comfort herself. Koa moaned. She always hated elevators, but boarded it anyway, standing across from Kissy, clutching the bars behind her. The elevator's door closed and slowly lifted them up.
"Listen…" Poppy spoke up, looking down at Koa. "I'm not your enemy, but I can't just let you leave."
Koa didn't take her eyes off Poppy. Instead of protesting, she decided to let Poppy explain herself.
"What's happening down here is bigger than all of us! And I need you… so we can get revenge on those monsters who've tortured you. Who've tortured us!" Poppy paused and looked up. The elevator was approaching the upper platform.
"They didn't act alone." Poppy said with anger in her voice. She growled, "they're disciples of the original: The Prototype."
Koa's face showed her disgust and fear. She didn't like the way Poppy said her last statement. The lift finally stopped. Kissy walked to the other side of the lift and sat in the corner near the lift's door, which opened to let them out.
"Do the honors?" Poppy asked, tilting her head to a control panel with a large button.
Koa nodded and walked over to the control panel and pressed the button. The second she did, the dome lit up again. The power had been restored. At least some of it has. Koa returned to the lift, sitting across from Kissy, and it brought them back down. During the ride, Kissy shifted uncomfortably, rubbing her paw or holding her leg in fear. Koa sympathized with Kissy as she gripped the rails again.
"The Prototype knows we're coming by now," Poppy spoke up. Koa looked to Poppy, fear in her features. "You try to escape, he'll kill you before you ever reach that front door. He's the reason I was trapped in that…" she paused, flinching, "horrendous case for so long. You have no idea the things he's done! Let me help you kill him!" She paused, glancing away for a moment like she caught herself saying something she shouldn't have, then continued. "Let me help you save everyone! We've ALL seen you! How capable you are! You killed Huggy. You killed Mommy. You freed me. You are perfect for this!" Just as she finished, the lift reached the bottom.
Koa flinched at Poppy's speech. Poppy was asking too much of her. She got lucky with Huggy and Mommy. How could she defeat something like the Prototype? Before she could voice her concerns, a loud crash was heard on the other side of the dome.
"CatNap is coming!" Poppy said quietly, fear in her voice. "He's the final obstacle the Prototype has placed against us."
Koa stepped off the lift as Poppy spoke, but froze at what Poppy said next, "we can't stay here. Keep yourself safe!"
She turned around to face Poppy, "pardon?"
Instead of answering, Poppy simply said, "Ollie will call you."
The lift closed and Kissy and Poppy rode it back up the higher platform.
"Wait, what? Poppy! You don't actually expect me to do this alone, do you?" Koa quietly called up to Poppy. Poppy didn't respond, and Koa called out again, "Poppy!"
Again, Poppy didn't respond. Koa sighed angrily and walked away. She couldn't hear what she was hearing.
'This is kidnapping! She can't force me to do this!' Her thoughts then turned to Poppy's hesitation in her speech. 'I saw you hesitate after you said you want to kill The Prototype. You added 'save everyone' after quite a pause.' Koa glanced back to the lift, it was nearly to the upper platform. Koa frowned and growled mentally, 'what are your true intentions, Poppy?'
Just then, her phone rang. Knowing there was no way out of the situation, she answered it.
"Hey! Hey! It's me again!" Ollie said, "looks like Poppy explained everything now! And she turned on the dome's backup power!" Koa looked around and nodded. "So the plan from here is pretty simple: we need to restore power to the Gas Production Zone. First, go back to the Home-Sweet-Home building you were just in! You should be able to find a large cable somewhere around the porch! Grab it and plug it in underneath the statue!" Ollie instructed with a cheerfulness in his voice Koa couldn't help feel was somewhat off-putting.
'The porch? Okay, that I can handle,' she thought to herself as Ollie disconnected the call. Koa put her phone away and jogged over to the porch of Home-Sweet-Home. Indeed, there was a large cord not far from the front door. Grabbing it, she held on tight as she jogged back to the statue, found the door to the power room, and went in. Upon entering the power room, she found a bunch of receptacles for large cords. Finding the one labeled 'Home-Sweet-Home,' she plugged in the cord.
Just then, the phone rang again and Koa answered.
"Awesome, look at that! Remember that generator you turned on inside of Home-Sweet-Home?" Ollie asked with enthusiasm.
Koa backed away and nodded, turning her attention to a large screen. It showed a charge for 'Gas Production,' and there were sections on the screen that had sections for the outlets, and each one was for each building in Playcare. She noticed the charge was at fifty percent.
"Well," Ollie continued, "that was a backup generator for just that building. And every building should have one. Now you've just taken Home-Sweet-Home's backup power and routed it here. We're already halfway done!"
Koa nodded, but stopped herself from getting too enthusiastic herself. She didn't dare think this job was going to be easy. Nothing has been easy since she walked through that front door.
"Hmm? But where to go next?" Ollie asked out loud. "Everywhere is pretty dangerous around here. That Playhouse especially! Yuck!"
'Okay Ollie, thank you for saying that! So don't go into the Playhouse.' Koa thought as she made a mental note to herself and praised Ollie for the warning.
"So…" Ollie said, thinking aloud, "your best bet is probably the school. CatNap usually leaves that place alone. Sending you the key now!"
Just then, Koa heard something slide down the pipe where Ollie had given her the keys for the Gas Production Zone and Home-Sweet-Home. It was another key. Once Koa retrieved the key, she left the power room.
Once she was back outside, she looked around and saw the school at the far left of the dome. As she approached the school, Koa still didn't dare think or say this job would be easy. Just because CatNap wasn't in the school, that didn't mean there wasn't any danger lurking in the school.
Limit your expectations because the world is full of disappointments.

AN: I changed a few words in Poppy's dialog to match the story and one word I changed because I didn't feel comfortable using it. I won't use The Lord's name in vain.
