Arcturus received the request for a formal visit from Luna and Pandora Lovegood. He had become subscribed to the Quibbler. The world had turned into a very strange place. Ever since Sirius and Harry had established a connection to the Lovegoods. The information was relevant and truthful. The ICW had backed up the information with the articles and now the Wizarding World was aware that the age of blissful ignorance was gone. The Daily Prophet had been relegated to toilet paper after the official firing of Rita Skeeter.
Rita Skeeter, in turn, had her house secured by a Fidelius and continued to work at the Quibbler as she was making the real life of Albus Dumbledore a topic of gossip.
The weekly interviews with Bathilda Bagshot and the articles speaking of the deceased Death Eaters had made the magazine the most unusual source of news. The mind bender was that the magazine was brilliant at exposing the truth about the historic articles and the people who made the headlines. It began giving names and affiliation to the Pure Blood movement. How many people were killed and the names of the victims.
At first people sent a lot of Howlers. Howlers that were returned to sender immediately after they landed on Potter Glen by a team of dedicated house-elves both Black and Potter. The situation was so bad that Amelia Bones had to take matters into her own hands and said that she would hire bounty hunters to serve notices to everyone who received another Howler at work or any public place so they would pay a fine.
It was no surprise Muriel Prewett ended up paying a hefty fine for being so persistent at harassing the Quibbler editor and Chief Xenophilius Lovegood. What did surprise the wizarding community was that Molly Prewett-Weasley had abstained from the debacle.
The Wizarding World had become a strange place, where the news were backed up by real information and the followers of Dumbledore had decreased to non-existent including the one woman, Molly Weasley, who at one point had followed Albus as though she was following the Christian messiah.
The real difference nowadays was that new bloods and magical people from all over the world began visiting. The Black family as proxies to the Potters had started to change the face of the magical market. When they took all of those vendors who had stopped paying their rent and royalties to the Potter family and evicted them without batting an eyelash. The goblins were in charge of the operation.
Diagon Alley was refurbished. The place was brimming with new faces. Foreign magical workers and new shops and the Leaky as the entry point changed from its old tattered face, to a very chic Bed and Breakfast, with variety shows on the weekends.
The new management kept old Tom only as a barman but had hired New Bloods as waiters, cooks and squib accountants. Former Manchester Magical Academy students could work part time and then save a bit of money for their magical schooling available through Gringotts. New Bloods now had a chance to get a career and stay home or continue elsewhere. They now had the choice.
Arcturus Black enjoyed every second of training he received in weapons. Hermione was brilliant, she would be just if not more formidable as Lady Black. Harry's girlfriend kept visiting on the weekend. Arcturus was reminded of Bella, before she succumbed to the Pure Blood ideology/idiocy. Hermione, just like Bella, had a mass of hair. She was curious, studious and meticulous in her execution. Monica Granger and Wendell her husband had met in the military and they had a distinguished career before leaving to start their practice as Dentists. Monica was a weapons specialist and Wendell had been part of the Sports and Social, in the Army. The man had relaxed in his married life, until Hermione began boxing and ballet dancing. Arcturus laughed at the retelling of the fairy Princess and the school Bullies including the Headmaster at her former non magical school.
Arcturus enjoyed the visits from the Tonks family. Dora was brilliant at shifting to become a perfect double of Sirius, Harry and himself. The house-elves continued to keep a close eye to the wealth and knowledge that the Black and Potter families received. Potter Glen began reconstruction. Andromeda began brewing in Black Castle. There was a Potions Laboratory just right for Mrs. Tonks.
