Frustrated Chisaki grounds out, "Fuck, why won't she meet me somewhere?" After Lucy cooled down they've been texting back and forth and have had conversations on the phone, but she hasn't agreed to meet up somewhere to talk in person. He's learned that she's not going to continue her nightly activities anymore. It's been catching and putting a drain on her. It's been on the news, her lack of activity. Since she wasn't there for an incident that occurred, rumors have been flying that she's either been caught and/or killed.

"Relax Chisaki, she'll be over tonight after work." The Boss says while going through information that was put on his desk.

Chisaki glares at Boss, "How do you know that?"

"She called me. When she gets here we're going to have a meeting, the three of us. Now I understand you killing those two men that she brought to our door. However, you can't keep killing our men just because they yell at or say something disrespectful to or about her."

"Boss-"

He puts a hand up, "I don't like that they do it, but we can't kill them. They're to be punished in the ring, and NOT killed. Now I know how to weed out the men we don't want in our ranks."

"What's that?"

"I'm going to ask Lucy to move around the compound undetected in the shadows to spy on our members." It's really hard for him to keep the fact that she can listen to one's soul from Chisaki. The man has been doing well spending time and chatting with her on the phone considering she has a quirk and uses it to save people. Chisaki's argument to that was she doesn't use it to fight, only to travel. She fights with her fists and a whip. He's been very curious about her strength. The Boss managed to appease him with the explanation of her training very hard to be as strong as she is. Which isn't a lie, when she wasn't working or at the library, she went to the gym and religiously attended a dojo that taught martial arts and self-defense. She also found some old videos of Japanese wrestling that she took an interest in. Add in her nightly activities he's surprised the woman is still on her feet.

Should Chisaki find out the truth about Lucy, he's unsure how his protégé would react. The man isn't fond of people having quirks. What would he think about Lucy having multiple abilities because of the magic she had while living in a different universe? He didn't exactly think that part through encouraging them to spend time together. They would be good together and Chisaki needs a woman like her in his life. Lucy let it be known she didn't like withholding the truth. So, he told her that should Chisaki find out then he would explain to Chisaki that he had forbidden her from telling anyone, not as her "Jiji" but as the boss of his yakuza. Chisaki is about respecting what he says and not going against what the boss says.

Chisaki is thinking about what Lucy will learn once she's given free rein to spy on everyone. There are some things he would much rather her not know about. If she asks, he can tell her he was trying to protect her.

Later That Night

Goddammit. Lucy putters around her apartment, getting ready to go to the compound.

She didn't know how to feel about the last time she was there. When she got home she curled up on the chair in front of the T.V. and watched the news to keep herself distracted. There was a story about a boy trying to save another from a sludge villain that caught her attention for a bit. What other child would just willingly jump in to help save someone? She smiled thinking about Fairy Tail. That kid had to be the same age as Wendy. Her smile dropped when she realized that was not right, the last time she saw Wendy she was fifteen years old. She's two years older now, making her seventeen. That is if there's no time difference. For all she knew more than two years has passed on Earthland. The thought of missing out on everyone's lives, everything she's been up to catching up to her and recent events crashed down on her all at once and she spent the rest of the night crying.

The next day she took Cancer's advice and tried to live a normal life starting with not spending all night on the hunt for specific criminals. It hurt her to do it, but she desperately needed the rest. She had been running herself ragged. There was only one incident on the news in a week and three days since she decided to cut down on hunting. She called Fukuzawa to talk to her about it. She was glad to hear that Lucy had finally decided to take a break. She understood why it hurt Lucy, she's hurt too that Lucy wouldn't be out there saving anyone, but she'll be of no use to anyone working herself to death.

She didn't make any new friends, not yet. In due time she will, but for now, she's going to enjoy life at a slow pace instead of a fast run. She did check on Miwa Sakurai, the woman she saved a couple of weeks ago. They had tea together and Sakurai talked up a storm telling Lucy all about herself. Okay, maybe after that day she did make a new friend.

She hasn't seen Chisaki since that night. Ugh. She knew she should have stayed and heard him out, but she was just so furious. Those two men made three from the yakuza hurting women. Jiji wouldn't allow bastards like that part of his organization so how were they able to join? She'll be getting answers tonight.

She put her phone on silent once the first call from Chisaki came through. There were two missed texts and one call from him and a missed call from Jiji waiting for her in the morning. She wanted to call back, she didn't have a logical reason not to, but she had no clue what to say. After a long talk with Ms. Yamamoto a few days later over a cup of tea, she called Jiji.

When she heard from Jiji that Chisaki killed those two men the second she left, she didn't know how to respond or feel. He also killed the two that yelled at her and called her a bitch. Jiji convinced her to contact Chisaki and talk to him. So, they've been texting back and forth, not bringing that night up. It's something best to talk about in person and she hasn't been ready to have the conversation.

So, here she is dressed in a long blue and gray horizontal striped over-the-shoulder sweater, black leggings, and dark blue flats, purse over her shoulder on her way to the compound. She put her hair in low pigtails and her bangs are free, framing her face.

Chisaki is already outside and waiting for Lucy to arrive. Once she does the gate is opened and he meets her halfway.

"Lucy-"

"Chisaki, I'm sorry."

"Why are you sorry?"

"Well, I ignored your calls for no reason and kept putting off meeting somewhere. I just-"

"Come on." He nods his head towards the building.

Lucy walks by his side to the building. The back of his gloved hand brushes up against the back of her bare one. When she looks up at him, he's looking down at her and brushes his hand against hers again. She gives him a light smile.

His heart skips a beat from her smile. He was testing himself, brushing his hand against hers, to find out what kind of reaction he would have. "I'm not mad at you."

"You're not?"

"No, I get it." He opens the door for her and steps in the entrance after her. "You spend your time taking down monsters and now discovering a few were members of the yakuza. The yakuza your Jiji runs. The yakuza that you have now been associating yourself with." Once their shoes are off they head down the hall to Boss's office. "We plan on taking action and getting rid of any members that are also committing those fucking crimes."

"Oh? How so?" Lucy is curious and wondering if that's why she was asked to come over. Is Jiji wanting her to spy on his men?

"The Boss wants to have a meeting about it, just the three of us. Despite my objections, Kurono was denied being able to attend."

Lucy hums and then replies, "Well, if he was granted permission the others would wonder why they weren't called to attend. If it's just you and I then they'll assume it's something about us."

"True. After the meeting, I would like to formally introduce you to everyone that way future violence can be prevented."

"Has there been present violence?" Dammit, why did she make rules about when and whose souls to listen to?

"Nope. It's all in the past."

Before Lucy can question him further, a huge, muscular man with long, light brown hair, and dark eyes comes up to them. He's wearing a mask like Kurono's and he dons a tattered t-shirt and dark pants covered by a light blue tunic and decorated with two belts. Gloves cover his hands and wrists that have several leather straps and his knuckles with metal.

"Hiya! You must be Overhole's girlfriend Lucy. I'm Kendo Rappa."

Lucy sticks her hand out wondering why he thinks she's Chisaki's girlfriend, "It's nice to meet you, Rappa. I've heard a lot about you." When he grasps her hand and squeezes it tightly, she squeezes even harder using Taurus's strength. She looks over at Chisaki, "Overhole?"

Rappa doesn't allow Chisaki to get a word in, "Yeah, he goes by, Overhaul, around here. Only the special ones can call him by his surname. The really special ones get to call him by his first name. So, what is it?" Rappa lets go of her hand, "You got quite the grip little lady, do you like to fight?"

"Uh… Umm.. I don't know what his first name is, sorry." Which is a lie, but neither of them needs to know that. She wasn't expecting this big guy to be so talkative and energetic. "I don't mind a good fight every once in a while."

"Let's fight then! I want to find out how tough you are." Rappa puts his fists up and bounces on the balls of his feet.

"Rappa-" Chisaki tries to get the man to stop talking before he says something he shouldn't.

"I heard about what happened a few weeks ago. You shattered the man's jaw and killed the man when you busted his nose. No wonder Overhole likes you."

"I… What?" Lucy kind of figured as much but to hear it confirmed…

What Chisaki wouldn't give to be able to disassemble the man right now. "You need to stop calling me Overhole and-"

While punching the air Rappa says, "Yeah, I may be a brawler but I'm also very observant. Got to be in a fight."

"How about next time? I'm not exactly wearing the appropriate attire." She points out the clothing she's in.

Rappa sighs dejectedly, "Fine." His dejected manner lasts only a second before he starts rambling some more. "I'm holding you to that. I love to fight, and it's been a while since I've had a worthy opponent. Don't worry, I won't kill you like the others, the last guy deserved it though."

"Rappa." Chisaki growls out threateningly, struggling to not use his quirk on his subordinate. At the same time, Lucy asks, "Why did the last guy deserve it?"

"I heard how you were disrespected and disrespecting you also disrespects Overhaul."

"Rappa!" Chisaki scolds him.

"Shit, sorry."

Lucy remembers Chisaki saying that the guy was going to be sent into the ring with Rappa. She didn't know the guy was going to be killed though. Beaten the fuck up? Yeah. But outright killed. She would have put a stop to it had she known. She recalls a conversation with Chisaki. He told her about recruiting Rappa. He wanted him to be part of the yakuza because of his brawling abilities. Rappa's quirk is strong arm. It allows him to rotate his shoulders at extreme speeds, allowing him to attack his targets with a near-endless barrage of bullet punches. His quirk can only stay active for a few seconds at a time, but this is all the time Rappa needs to wear down his opponents.

Before Rappa joined he was a brawler who participated in the quirk-permitted underground fight club, the Underground Masquerade. In the matches he partook in, he either defeated his opponents with a single strike or yielded due to his superior aptitude. He remained undefeated until his encounter with Chisaki. Rappa propositioned that to gain his servitude, Chisaki had to defeat him in battle but just as Rappa was about to launch an attack, Chisaki effortlessly disassembled him before reassembling him. After becoming a member and one of the Eight Bullets, the first one actually, he has challenged Chisaki twice more and has yet to beat him.

Lucy has also learned that Chisaki tends to call Kurono, Chrono most often. He told her that Chrono was fine with her calling him Kurono. Kurono is a childhood friend and very loyal to him. He is the leader of the group Chisaki is putting together, The Eight Bullets. He didn't give her a reason as to why he's putting it together though. It could be that one day he will take over as the boss.

Chisaki has also recruited a couple others of before he met her. He didn't tell her much about them. Katsukame who started as an obedient friend and younger-brother-like figure and Hojo who Chisaki found on the streets. She figures he didn't tell her much so they can decide how much they want her to know. The only reason he told her so much about Rappa is because he's not shy about telling people who he is and also wanted to give her a heads up on what he's like. She just wasn't prepared for all of that.

"Hey! Are you there?" Rappa waves a hand in front of her face.

"Huh? Oh, sorry." She looks at Chisaki who is looking like he's expecting her to be running out of there screaming.

The only reason Chisaki didn't pull her away sooner is because if she's going to be spending time with him, she should get to know his men.

Rappa leans towards her and whispers, "Listen, he didn't order me to kill the punk. I did that on my own accord. I'm very loyal to Overhaul and you're his girlfriend. Like I said, anyone who disrespects you is disrespecting him."

"Uh, okay." Lucy doesn't know what to say to that and she doesn't know why he keeps referring to her as Chisaki's girlfriend. "Well, Chisaki and I have somewhere to be. I'll see you around Rappa."

"You too little lady. Can't wait for that fight."

When Rappa disappears down the hall Lucy turns to Chisaki, "Well, let's not keep Jiji waiting any longer."

"Are you sure you don't want to run away from here? I'd understand if you do." Yes, he'd understand but he would also be disappointed. He's been trying to pinpoint exactly what makes her so different. Kurono (Chrono) has a theory but it's impossible, there's no way. Chrono theorizes that his body can sense that she's pure, in the sense she's never been intimate with anyone, just like him. There's no way a beautiful woman like her is untouched. Also, how could his body sense that? Though he has to admit stranger things have happened.

"I'm sure." They continue to Jiji's office and wondering if Chisaki will tell her the truth she asks, "What happened to the two men I brought to the compound and the other two that yelled at me?"

"I killed them," Chisaki admits. There's no sense in lying.

Lucy sighs, "You can't go around killing everyone who disrespects me. If you did that… Just, please don't."

Chisaki stops her at the office door, "What aren't you telling me?"

"A lot of guys flirt with me and some of them get a little perturbed when I turn them down."

Chisaki growls, "Who-"

"Lucy can take care of herself Chisaki." Boss is standing in the doorway. He steps out of the way so they can enter.

After everyone is seated, Lucy gets right to it, "Let me guess, you want me to spy on your men?"

Chisaki knows Lucy isn't being disrespectful towards Boss, they have a familial relationship, but it's still difficult for Chisaki to not say anything about her attitude towards him.

The Boss puts his elbows on his desk and links his fingers, "Yes. I want you to sneak around the compound in the shadows, spying on them. I want to know just what kind of men we have here that have been able to slip through the cracks."

It's unspoken that he wants her to listen in on their souls as well. It'll make it a lot easier to weed them out after all. It's also a lot quicker.

"It's the quickest way. There's something else I want to talk to you about."

Lucy gauges his facial expression. This man has always been good at hiding his expressions making it difficult to read him. "What is it?"

"We need your help taking down a sex trafficking ring again."

Chisaki interrupts, "Wait, Lucy is the one that helped out?"

"Yes, she is."

"When did you find out about it?" Lucy asks. How did she not hear anything about it?

"That night you threw those two into the compound."

"That was over a week ago! Dammit."

"Don't worry, we have still yet to find out where the women and children are being kept. You know what that means."

"Yes, sir. I have a bit of investigating to do." So much for slowing down and living a normal life. Lucy stands, "I'll get started right away."

"You can start tomorrow. I believe Chisaki planned on introducing you to everyone."

"Right. Have a good night Jiji."

"You as well dear."

Lucy follows Chisaki out the door and around the compound meeting almost everyone that's part of the yakuza. Some of the members were out doing whatever is that they do. She got to meet another member of the Eight Bullets, Rikiya Katsukame, a large, tall, and very muscular man. He wears a mask too but his is different. He wanted to pick out his own and it's more like a plague mask black in color, covering his whole head. It has red lines, white eyes, and a golden detail around the neck. His quirk is energy suck which allows him to siphon away other people's stamina by inhaling their strength away from them. He can use the stolen stamina to increase his size and strength greatly. To use his quirk, Rikiya needs to be touching the target. Chisaki would have introduced her to Yu Hojo, but he was underground fighting with someone.

After all of that excitement, Chisaki walks her home.

Tuesday May 14, 2024

Lucy is enjoying the beautiful day relaxing in the park, just soaking up the rays. Turned out there were three pieces of shit in the yakuza that were sneaking out to hurt women and children. Jiji told her he was going to dispose of them himself, but she had demanded he let her take care of the fucking scumbag that dared to hurt his own daughter. His own fucking twelve-year-old daughter. What she wouldn't have given to use Cobra's poison on the man, nothing that would kill him, just leave him writhing in pain for a bit before she summoned Gemini to transform into Wendy so he could be healed, only to be tortured some more. Virgo would have helped punish the man. She told Lucy that she would have no problem stripping the man down naked and tying him up so Lucy did as she pleased, like freeze his dick with Gray's Ice-Make and then shatter it. Lucy was almost surprised by her suggestion but then memories of Sadist Virgo flickered through her mind.

So, she settled on beating the fuck out of the man in the ring in the basement and left adding him to her kill list. She couldn't bring herself to feel horrible about it, but it left her worried about her mental stability. It's a good thing she's decided to take a step back as Celeste. It hurts to not save those who need it, but she can't lose herself along the way. What she wouldn't give to talk with Cobra and ask for advice. There have been times he's had to ignore calls for help and it almost broke him but thankfully he had Kinana at his side. Lucy only knows because she accidentally saw it in his soul while practicing using his ability.

Her last act as Celeste is helping take down the sex trafficking ring, which is in a months time, unless something just as bad crops up. Jiji reluctantly agreed to allow her to be an active participant this time around. She can see the worry in his eyes and is sure he knows what's going on with her, he's been there for her since the beginning when she came to this world. There are moments when he reminds her of Master Makarov and it's so uncanny. He's not the first person she met whose voice is the same as one of her friends and it's so weird.

What would her friends think about stopping listening in on the souls around her unless the situation calls for it? Would they approve of her attempting to live a somewhat normal life and continue to pretend she doesn't have multiple abilities in her arsenal?

It's really hard hiding what she's fully capable of, if she could, she would be able to reveal what she heard to not only Jiji but everyone else. She could do more than hide in the shadows while she spied on those that are part of the sex trafficking ring gathering information to report back. She could have killed them all then and there. That right there is why she needs to take a step back. They have to play this smart.

"Ugh, I came to the park to relax not think about everything that's been pissing me off." Lucy can sense someone walking toward her. One look at the person tells her she doesn't need to hear his soul to know why he's headed her way.

Sato is driving Boss, Chisaki, and Kurono back to the compound after a meeting they had to attend and along the way Chisaki spots Lucy in a park and some jackass who is clearly bothering her.

"Pull over," Chisaki orders Sato. When the car is parked he wastes no time getting out and making his way over. She called off from work and he asked her if she wanted to do anything after the meeting. She had told him she had a lot on her mind and wouldn't be good company. He can tell everything has been taking its toll on her and all he can do is respect her wishes when asked to be left alone to sort out her thoughts. When he reaches the scene he hears the tone in Lucy's voice that promises bad things should the guy not turn around and leave.

"Listen here, I told you I'm not interested." Lucy's leg is twitching and she's trying really hard not to cause a scene. She's in a sour mood enough as it is, last thing she wants is some jerkoff refusing to accept the word no.

Chisaki stops, crosses his arms, and gets their attention, "What's going on here?" He would love nothing more than to fuck this person up, but he promised he would try to control his anger and not hospitalize or kill anyone.

"We were just getting ready to sneak off, weren't we babe?" The idiot attempts to get closer to put his arm around her only to be smacked.

"As if! I told you no, now get away from me you creep!"

He attempts to grab her again, "Listen here bitch-"

Only using her strength, her leg strikes him, "Lucy-Kick!"

Both Lucy and Chisaki watch the man fly across the park, crashing into a thick tree. Chisaki then directs his attention to Lucy and takes in her appearance. She has half of her hair in two buns, the other half cascading down her back. She's wearing an outfit that accentuates her figure, a black halter top that ends at her navel, tight blue jeans that show off her ass, and black flats that cover her feet 'How did she kick the guy without her jeans ripping?'

Lucy grabs up her things and grumbles, "Fuck, I should probably check on him to make sure I didn't kill him."

Chisaki having heard her says, "Don't worry about it. You're more than likely not the first person he harassed. Serves him right."

"Chisaki!" Lucy jumps at his voice. She knew someone was there, but she was so infuriated that she didn't know who.

He quirks his eyebrow at her, "Just now noticed I was here?"

Lucy sighs, "I'm sorry. I was so pissed off it didn't register in my mind who was there. What are you doing here anyway? I thought there was a meeting?"

Chisaki hesitantly holds her bare hand with his gloved one and walks her to the car. "We just left it. We got confirmation about the intel you gave us." He catches the look of surprise on her face when she looks down at their hands cupped around each other and then back up at him. "Would you like to come over? We can fill you in. You and I could also do something together. That is if you want to. If you don't we can take you home."

She's researched everything about Japan. Even their dating customs. The more traditional Japanese dating style doesn't really allow for grey areas, blurred lines, and indecisiveness: you'll need to make up your mind and officially start dating the person after the initial flirting and "getting to know one another". She's not sure where holding hands fits into it but goes with it. Lucy smiles at him, "I would like that, but I'm not sure I would be good company."

"You're much better company than the ones at the compound waiting for me." He lets go of her hand, opens up the door for her, and gets in once she's settled in the middle next to Kurono. If it were anyone else, he wouldn't be too happy about that. He gets in and his anxiety rises a little. He takes in a deep breath and then exhales slowly.

Lucy hesitantly reaches for his hand. She looks up at him and when he gives her a nod, he holds it, giving it a gentle squeeze.

The Boss and Kurono could feel the anxiety in Chisaki grow and were about to help calm him down until they were beaten to it by Lucy holding his hand. The Boss smiles and turns his attention to something else and Kurono smiles behind his mask. He never thought he'd ever see the day that Chisaki would have a serious interest in someone. It's nice to witness the usually stoic, serious, stay the fuck away from me guy be comfortable, relaxed and happy with someone. The Boss is right, she is good for him. Now he can only hope her influence will make him realize there's more to life than the yakuza.

Sunday May 19, 2024

Chisaki is playing a game of Shogi with Boss when the intercom buzzes. It's Ryota Wakabayashi, the boss of Hagane Okami Ichizoku "Steel Wolf Clan". Chisaki doesn't mind the guy but if he's there then his daughter is more than likely with him. This isn't going to go well. Lucy's going to be over any minute now. She wanted to clean up and change after work before coming over.

"Hello, Wakabayashi." Boss greets.

"Hello. I hope we're not interrupting anything." He stoically says.

"Not at all. Now to what do I owe the pleasure?"

"If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to speak in your office," He looks over at Chisaki, "alone."

"Okay. Chisaki please keep Miss Kumagai company."

"Yes, sir." Chisaki watches as they disappear into the other room leaving him with her.

In an over flirtatious voice Kumagai says, "Hello, Chisaki. It's always such a pleasure."

Chisaki manages to get out, as politely as he can, "Kumagai." She's been wanting him since they met but he's always refused her advances. Their boss even tried arranging a marriage but thankfully The Boss was against it as much as he was. They still don't understand what they hoped to accomplish with that arrangement. Yes, they're on good terms, the two bosses go way back, but it doesn't make any sense.

"Chisaki, you can call me Kamiko." She purrs stepping closer.

"No." Chisaki wonders when the woman is going to get it through her head that he wants nothing to do with her. She tries to sidle up to Chisaki to only be denied when a big guy steps in between them.

"Overhaul! When is Lucy going to be here?"

Kumagai looks as if she just swallowed a lemon, "Lucy? You don't mean that blonde bimbo, do you?"

"Who are you calling a blonde bimbo, pillock? And I thought I told you it's Heartfilia to you." Lucy is standing in front of Chisaki, glaring at the woman. She reaches for Chisaki's hand, lightly holding it, guiding him away from everyone before he freaks out due to everyone being so close. Only a select few can be in his bubble.

Just before Kumagai could ask how she got in there without anyone noticing and why she was so close to her man, her father walked out into the hall. She smirks, 'He can get her out of my way.'

"Ahh, now who is this lovely young lady?" Wakabayashi asks. He glares at his daughter when she scoffs.

"This is Lucy, Lucy this is Ryota Wakabayashi and his daughter Kamiko Kumagai." Jiji introduces them.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Wakabayashi, Kumagai." Lucy bows her head. Chisaki never mentioned to her that the day she saved him was from a woman who was the daughter of the boss of another yakuza. 'Why do they have different last names?'

Jiji catches the question in her eyes, "Kamiko took on her mother's surname."

"Yes, her bitch of a mother didn't want her having any ties to the yakuza, but she couldn't stop me from spending time with her."

Kumagai smirks, "I'm going to be the first woman leader of a yakuza. You see-" Her father cuts her off.

"Kamugai, not now." He is well aware of his daughter's obsession with Chisaki and the last thing they need is her stirring the pot with what looks to be his girlfriend. 'That's no good, it'll ruin our plans.'

Lucy is really curious about what she can hear in their souls, but she made a promise to only use that ability when needed, for instance. "I'm going to go change into my fighting gear." Lucy hoists her bag up that contains a few other necessities for after the fight.

"Yes! Let's Go!" Rappa takes off down the hall and disappears.

"I'll come with you so I can show you to the ring." Chisaki walks by her side and rests his gloved hand on the small of her back. Both of them can feel the seething glares being burned into their backs.

They hear Boss/Jiji tell Wakabayashi and Kumagai about her fight with Rappa. Lucy doesn't need to hear their souls to know they're thinking she's not going to be able to put up a fight.

Rappa is bouncing on the balls of his feet in the ring. The day has arrived that he gets the fight he's been wanting to have with Lucy. Quirks allowed. He wonders how she'll fare since her quirk is Shadows, it's not very offensive. She has to be good though, or else Chisaki wouldn't allow him to be in the ring with his girlfriend.

Lucy steps into the caged ring and she can hear the whistles in the air, the men reacting to what she's wearing. It's nothing sexy and appealing, it's just a black sports bra and black spandex shorts, with blue sneakers and white socks. She also has on her metal studded gloves. She mentally calls upon Taurus's strength, thank goodness it doesn't accompany any flashing lights, and flips the switch to turn on the soul hearing ability and focuses on Rappa's. She catches in Chisaki's the struggle to not obliterate everyone. The bell dings and Rappa doesn't waste any time going after Lucy. Despite his extreme speed rotating his shoulders, she's able to duck and dodge the endless barrage of bullet punches. Between her battles when she lived on Earthland and the training she's done for the past two years on Earth, she has developed many different fighting styles. She devised her workout routine to help with strength, stamina, and agility. Being able to hear Rappa's soul is also a big advantage. She decides not to utilize the shadows too often, she wants to show everyone, especially Kumagai what she's capable of.

Rappa has stopped and he's wondering how she was able to dodge everything and not be worn out. He's surprised when she crouches down to use a leg sweep and knocks his ass down.

"Fuck yeah, this is what I'm talking about!" Rappa shouts.

Before he gets a chance to do a kip up, Lucy runs to him and jumps on his chest, feet hitting him right in his gut.

"Gah!"

She straddles his chest and gets a few hits into his face. She hears he's going to pick her up and throw her, so she turns into a shadow and moves to the other side of the ring.

Rappa is surprised by how quickly she moved out of his reach, wondering how she knew he was going to make a move. Instinct possibly. He attempts to use his quirk again. He's shocked that she's able to get a few hits into his ribs while she's ducking and dodging. She sneaks behind him to wrap her arms around his waist and using Taurus's strength gives him a German Supplex.

She's surprised when she struggles a bit. He's heavier than she expected but manages to not hurt herself pulling off that move. When he gets into a fighting stance, Lucy smiles at him, taking a fighting stance as well.

Her smile disarms him, and he leaves her with an opening to pull an enziguri, jumping and swinging her leg around to kick him behind the head.

"Ooof." Rappa lets out when she's behind him and kicks the back of his right knee. He falls to his hands and knees and is once again surprised when she runs up his back, jumps, and then brings a foot down on the back of his head, effectively curb-stomping him.

Lucy stands back as he staggers back up to his feet, wiping the blood coming out of his mouth with a thumb, and smiles at her.

"Damn little lady, you're giving me a run for my money, it's been a while since I've had this good of a fight."

"It's been a while since I've got to fight a worthy opponent."

"Hehe." He attacks her again with punches and kicks and he just can't seem to land a hit. "Where did you learn how to fight?"

Lucy hears the shock in the men's souls as she ducks, rolls, quickly turns, braces herself on her hands, and kicks the underside of his chin. She doesn't get away in time leaving him with the opportunity to grab her by the ankle and hang her upside down. "I've picked up quite a few things in the past five years."

Rappa throws her up into the air and watches with awe as she contorts her body just right to land on her feet onto his shoulders. "Wha-"

Lucy uses that momentum to quickly fall in front of him, wrapping her legs around his neck, pulling him forward and flipping him onto his head. She lands just right on her forearms and manages to avoid banging her head on the ground. She rolls them, straddles his chest, and gets a few good hits in the face. Thanks to being able to listen in on his soul, she springs to her feet and jumps in the air to land on his stomach.

Using his quirk again, he goes after her again and gets a few hits in. He notices she's finally starting to wear down.

Lucy realizes she needs to end this quickly before he gets the upper hand. She waits for the right opening to put him in a submissive move. She ducks, gives him another leg sweep knocking him down on his stomach. She quickly gets up and jumps on his back to then hurriedly get behind him. She stands on his thighs, grabs his legs, and wraps them on the inside of hers. She smacks his ribs and his arms instinctively go behind him giving her to opportunity to get a grab on them, pulling back then up level with his shoulder blades. She rocks back and forth, rolls onto her back, and holds him above her. She lets go of his arms and puts him in a sleeper hold.

"Damn it." He manages to get out. He tries to roll her to the side but she's somehow able to remain stationary. Her grip is tight, and he tries to hold out as long as he can. He refuses to tap so he chooses to pass out instead.

The room is silent as Rappa passes out due to a submission move from a woman.

When she lets go of Rappa, she quickly rolls to the side to avoid getting squashed. She stops on her back, her chest rising and falling. Once Lucy has caught her breath, she sits straight up and then turns her head to look at Rappa who is still out. She staggers to her feet and raises a hand in the air with her index finger up.

The people watching have no clue as to why she has her pointer finger up, but that's not what's important right now, she just beat Rappa. The only other person to have done that is Overhaul (Kai Chisaki). All of a sudden Rappa is back on his feet and tries to attack her from behind.

With the last bit of Lucy's energy, she swings on her heel and gives him a roundhouse kick. It doesn't knock him out but it does cause him to slide back away from her.

"Just testing ya, I wouldn't have followed through with hitting ya from behind."

She gives him another smile and holds out her hand, "good fight."

Rappa grabs her hand and shakes it, "Hell yeah! Can't wait for a rematch."

"I would like to see how well you fair up against my crystallization quirk," Yu Hojo says. He's recently met his boss's girlfriend and at first, he didn't quite understand what had Overhaul so enthralled. Yeah, she's hot as fuck and can play a mean game of Shogi but what else drew her to him? Having seen her fight, he gets it even more now.

"No," says Chisaki as he walks to Lucy. "Once is enough."

"But Overhaul," Rappa whines like a kid.

Chisaki is tempted to disassemble him but Lucy wouldn't appreciate that not to mention there's already enough blood in this place.

Chisaki helps her out of there but it ends up being Lucy leading him out of there because not only are his anxiety levels high, but he is breaking out from all the dirt and blood. Lucy would love to bring out Gemini to turn into Wendy to heal her but it would be too suspicious of her wounds miraculously healing so quickly.

Rappa likes Lucy. Not only is she a good fighter but with her around Overhaul is less likely to disassemble him. He knows all about the Kumagai woman that was trying to get up in Overhaul's space and he doesn't like her, never has. That goes for Rikiya and Hojo too. If she knows what's good for her she won't try to get in between Overhaul and Lucy again.

Kumagai is now kind of scared of the woman but she's not going to let it stop her. Come hell or high water, she'll find a way to get Heartfilia out of the picture and have Chisaki.

Thursday May 30, 2024

The day after the fight Lucy managed to talk privately with Jiji. She wanted to tell him what she briefly caught in Wakabayashi's soul during the fight which was him being part of the trafficking ring. Jiji didn't understand because Wakabayashi had stopped by to ask for assistance. Lucy theorized that maybe Wakabayashi wanted to find a way to tie him to it, effectively getting him out of the picture so Chisaki would have to step in and take over. They're very adamant for Chisaki to be with Kumagai and with the Shie Hassaikai boss out of the way... When Jiji argued saying that didn't make any sense, Chisaki would decline even without him there. Lucy counter-argued that maybe they had something on him to force his hand. She also asked why they were so dead set on the union between the two and Jiji admitted he had no idea but would like to find out.

Now here she is, out on the patio of a fancy restaurant with her most loyal spirit listening in on the conversation taking place inside in a private booth. She took a big risk and summoned Loke to accompany her. A single woman sitting at the table is asking to get hit on and she can't have any distractions.

"What compelled Jiji to lie to Wakabayashi, saying he knew nothing about it and didn't want to get involved?" Loke asks.

"Gut instinct told him something was off."

Loke hums while he stares at Lucy.

"What?"

"It's weird sitting here on a date with 'Cana'."

Lucy ignores the date comment, "I can't believe I never thought about turning into a guildmate before. Then again I didn't think I could do it so never bothered to try." She's disguised as Cana wearing something similar to Leo's Star Dress but the color scheme is purple and gold, so the boss of the Steel Wolf clan and his men don't recognize her. "I could have been flying around as Happy this whole time."

"If I could turn into an exceed, I would go with Pantherlily. The guy knows how to fight and has a big sword."

Lucy laughs, "Good point." Lucy's attention is turned away from her conversation with Loke to the table inside the restaurant. She holds Loke's hand and smiles at him making it look like they are two fools in love while in reality, she is tuning into the conversation about the topic she's been waiting for.

"Everything is good to go?"

Wakabayashi replies, "Yup, got everything all accounted for, for the auction. Everything on the list has been acquired."

"Is your old friend going to get in the way?"

"Nope, he knew nothing about it and won't have time to interfere this time around. Although I was hoping to be able to take him out and bring down the Shie Hassaikai. Take in those who have nowhere to go to build my army. Especially Chisaki, he's someone I would like to have run my yakuza. Smart, analytical, powerful, with a destructive quirk. He also has the same goal of getting out of the shadows to take over again. However, I got stuck with a useless daughter and I don't trust any of my men enough not to run what I built into the ground."

"You alright there? Seemed more pissed than normal about that situation."

"That would be because Chisaki got himself a girlfriend. A sexy as sin girlfriend. I at first passed her off as a ditzy blonde bimbo and would be easy to get out of the way. Man was I wrong."

"Oh yeah? How so?"

"The bitch has brains in the pretty head of hers and knows how to fight. Witnessed with my own eyes her taking down one of Chisaki's men. Not just any man either, the one who made a living fighting in the underground."

"Wait, you mean?"

"Yup. She made it look like child's play. Now I got to rethink my plans."

"Hopefully you can figure it out."

Lucy quits listening in on the conversation, she's heard enough and what she just heard in Wakabayashi's soul makes her want to vomit. She's finding it really hard to keep her composure.

"Psst, Lucy." Loke gives her hand a hard squeeze trying to get her attention.

Lucy snaps out of it and looks up at Loke's worried face, "Can we go?"

"Of course."

Once lunch has been paid they head out and go to the nearest alley. Lucy hugs Loke, turns them into the shadows, travels up the side of a building, and ends up on the top of a roof to talk about what she heard.

"Damn, no wonder Jiji didn't want you associated with the yakuza. You have the boss of another one making plans to take you by force."

"There's been people outside of a yakuza that tried to make those plans and they failed epically."

"Wait, what?"

"Don't worry about it Loke, I'm not worried about that right now. There's more women and children than what I knew of."

"How? You've been spying on them for a month."

"Someone flew in from another country with a 'shipment'," Lucy cringes at that statement, referring to human beings as a shipment.

Loke pushes his glasses up, "I have to say, when we arrived here, I never thought we would be living this kind of life."

"Loke-"

"It's been a rough and treacherous path Lucy, but I'm proud of you."

Lucy tears up, "Loke?"

"You've done the best with everything you've been given and are still standing strong. Whoever it was that sent you here must have thought you wouldn't be able to survive here, but you've powered through it all."

Lucy smiles at his kind words but if he only knew her internal struggle at the moment. "Loke, I want to ask you something."

"What's that princess?"

"Did I make the right choice? Not seeking out a hero or going to a hero agency to explain what happened and ask for their help to find a way home?"

"I don't know princess." He hugs Lucy, "That's all in the past now and we don't know what tomorrow will bring so how about we live in the moment, yeah? No sense in stressing over things we can't change."

Lucy snuggles into Loke's chest, "You're right."

Loke breaks the hug, "So, about this Chisaki guy."

"There's something about him Loke, I don't know how to explain it."

"Just, be careful. Especially now that Wakabayashi and Kumagai will be gunning for you."

"You don't have to worry, should they try anything they'll be starting a war, a war they'll lose." Both remain silent for a few minutes and then Lucy breaks the silence. "Is it wrong for me to pursue a relationship?"

Loke kisses Lucy on the forehead, "You're a lonely 22-year-old woman, it's only natural you're looking for companionship."

"I know, it's just that if Fairy Tail-"

"We can cross that bridge when we get there. For now, just live. I love you, Lucy."

"I love you too Loke." When Loke has shimmered away, Lucy turns to the sky, closes her eyes, and feels the heat of the sun on her skin. She opens her eyes and looks at her blank right hand then giggles, "Right." Lucy transforms back to herself. She holds up her hand in Fairy Tail's sign, but this time it's not for her former guildmates, it's for those women and children who are waiting for her.

"Don't worry, I'm coming."
