Bittersweet Vengeance-Ch 17

Reid looked over his shoulder to make sure that she wasn't coming, he said, "I'll give you a brief summary", they nodded their heads and he said, "I followed Garcia when she left the room and she went to the end of the hall and stepped into another room to make a phone call".

Derek said, "to Sam?", Reid said, "yes and when he answered the phone she said that she was calling like she promised she would, every 12 hours", JJ said, "meaning you were right", Reid said, "yes he's definitely using hypnosison her and to ensure that he doesn't lose his grip on her he makes her call every 12 hours so he can say the word or words that he uses to keep power over her".

Derek said, "that bastard", Dave said, "and considering she was gone over 5 months she must have fought", Derek said, "she fought hard for probably months before the combination of drugs and hyptnosisfinally took control, so now what pretty boy?", Reid said, "to be continued" as he saw her getting ready to walk into the room.

They all nodded their heads and Hotch said, "that's a good point Reid, the women all fought, Garcia and I watched the footage and you could see 4 men inside and at least 2 outside waiting in the huge cargo van", Penelope said, "I can pull up the footage so that you can all watch it if you'd like?", Reid said, "yes please".

She walked over and hit a few keys and pulled up the footage, the team then stood there watching everything that happened, Reid said, "see right here, this is why there are drag marks in the mud room, she was fighting with everything she had in her but he was finally able to overpower her".

Derek said, "it takes a real sick person to overpower somebody and take them away from the people they love and that love them", Penelope looked up at him and said, "I agree Derek, I mean Agent Morgan", he wanted to hold her, to kiss her and tell her that everything was going to be alright, that they would figure out a way to make Sam lose his control over her but right now he couldn't.

The team stayed at the station for a few more hours before heading back to the hotel to get some rest, as Reid watched Penelope step into her room he knew that Penelope wouldn't have to call Sam until tomorrow morning around 9 so all they had to do was make sure that she was no wherenear her phone at that time.

The morning came all too soon and Reid had sent the team, minus Penelope a message letting them know the plan and he quickly got replies to let him know that they agreed so now all that was left to do was get Penelope away from her phone so that Sam couldn't reset or continue her state of being overpowered by him.

When everybody met downstairs JJ said, "I'm starving, how about we head to the diner up the street and grab some breakfast, something tells me it's gonna be a long day?", everybody agreed so the team headed up the street to grab something to eat before they headed to the police station.

They had placed their order and were sitting around talking, Penelope stood up and said, "i'll be right back, need to use the little girls room", she walked away from the table, leaving her cell and Reid picked it up and put it in his satchel, they could always say that she must have left it back in the hotel room.

As they sat enjoying their breakfast Reid couldn't wait to see what would happen when she didn't call him, would he try to call another member of the team or call the FBI office to try to find out where exactly she was, he didn't know but he couldn't wait to find out.

The team finished their breakfast and were currently headed toward the police station, it was now almost 9:30 and so far so good, she hadn't noticed that her cell was gone, the girls had managed to keep her talking about other things so that she hadn't noticed that her phone wasn't ringing.

When they got to the police station she said, "oh, where's my phone?", Reid said, "I don't know Garcia, did you have it when we left the hotel?", she said, "I thought that I did", JJ said, "maybe you left iit at the hotel, it's no biggie, right?", Penelope smiled and said, "right, no problem sunshine".

Little did Penelope know that Sam was going out of his mind trying to reach her, he'd tried her cell like 50 times when she hadn't called him at the designated time, he was currently pacing back and forth trying to figure out what was going on, he needed to talk to her, she needed to hear his voice so that he could say the words she needed to hear, those 3 little words, I LOVE YOU".

It was almost noon and she still hadn't called so he dialed her cell again and left a voice mail saying, "I LOVE YOU PENELOPE, DO YOU HEAR ME I LOVE YOU, CALL ME", he then sighed and tossed his phone on the bed and continued pacing, this isn't good, this sooo isn't good".

He then worriedly sent Savannah a text and a few seconds later his cell rang, she said, "what's up?", Sam said, "she didn't call?", Savannah said, "who didn't call?", Sam said, "Penelope didn't call, she's gone out of town with the team and she didn't call me back, I wasn't able to refresh the command".

Savannah said, "that's not good, has she ever done that before?", he said, "no, never and I'm afraid that if she doesn't call soon that everything that we did will all be for nothing, I don't want that and I know that you don't want it either", Savannah said, "no I sure don't want that, not with things falling into place".

Sam said, "I'll just have to wait and see if she calls me later", Savannah said, "you better hope she does because if she goes for a few days without being refreshed she will go back to her old self and neither of us want that", Sam said, "she'll call, she'll call", Savannah ran her hand over her head and said, "she'd better or it's over for us", both of them stood quietly wondering just what had happened to Penelope.
