Bittersweet Vengeance-Ch 20

Penelope slept the entire flight to Hawaii and Derek woke up her minutes before they were to land on Dave's private airstrip, she yawned and said, "I didn't realize that I was that tired, sorry to sleep the entire flight on ya?", Derek said, "you need rest sweetness, this little one here does too".

JJ said, "once we get home and Fran gets here we'll get you checked out okay?", she nodded her head and said, "o o okay, thanks Jayje, she said, "we love you Penelope and when we thought that you were gone forever it broke us, we were all completely shattered", she said, "I'm so so sorry but I don't remember anything after I woke up in a room".

Reid said, "do you remember who was there with you?, she said, "Sam was there and somebody else, wait, there was somebody else but I can't see the face, I'm sorry", JJ said, "don't push yourself to hard, the important thing is that you're here with us now and Sam can't get to you".

As they walked off of the jet a few minutes later Penelope said, "it's so beautiful here", Dave said, "this is where Fran and I came for our honeymoon", Penelope said, "very nice papa bear, veryyyyyyyy nice", she was looking down at her hand and said, "w w who's ring is this?", Derek said, "easy sweetness, take it easy, that ring belongs to Sam".

She quickly pulled it off and tossed it onto the floor and said, "n n n noooooo", Derek pulled her into his arms and said, "it's going to be alright baby girl, we've got you, we've got you", she completely broke down and continued to cry, Derek picked her up and carried her bridal style up the path and into the house.

He walked her over to the couch and sat down with her still in his arms, she sniffed and said, "why can't I remember, why, why?", Reid said, "we're thinking that you were drugged and that he used hypnosis on you", she said, "s s so did he, did we?", Derek looked at her and she said, "of course he did, who wouldn't want to rape somebody when they couldn't remember?", Derek said, "it's okay, it's over, it's over".

Meanwhile back in Virginia, Sam was pacing back and forth, it had been over 38 hours since he'd heard from Penelope, all of his plans were going down the drain, he didn't know what to do, he was completely out of ideas and if he was going down then Savannah was going down too.

He picked up his cell and dialed her number, after a few rings he heard, "please tell me that you've heard from her", he said, "I wish I could but I haven't", she said, "have you tried calling another member of the team or calling Erin Strauss, maybe she can tell you something".

Sam said, "I tried and she said that she wasn't at liberty to tell me anything and I told her that Penelope and I were engaged and she still wouldn't tell me anything", Savannah said, "we can't lose now Sam, we've been through so so much", Sam said, "I've lost more than you have, if I lose her I've lost my child too".

Savannah said, "I'll lose Derek for a second time but at least you have memories of being in her bed, recent memories mine are several years old", Sam smirked and said, "she's a wildcat in the sack, now that I'm gonna miss but the look on Derek's face when we walked in together was sooooooooo worth it", Savannah laughed and said, "I would have to agree with you".

Sam said, "what do we do now?", Savannah said, "the only thing that we can do is wait and see if she calls", Sam said, "well if she doesn't, I'm not going down for this by myself, if I go down you're gonna go down with me", she said, "yeah that's what I figured you'd say", he said, "we;re in this together so if one of us goes down, we both do".

In Hawaii Derek was sitting with Penelope, she was devastated, she had no idea that she'd been gone from the team for over 5 months, the last memory she had with the team they were all laughing and having fun on a night out and now they tell her that it's been over 5 months.

Penelope's stomach growled and Derek grinned and said, "how about we get you something to eat?", she said, "sounds good, I'm starving", he said, "let's head into the kitchen, it's right over there" as he pointed to the left, she then got out of his arms and stood up and started following him.

Emily watched the couple walk away and said, "once Fran gets here we'll get her checked out at the hospital, get some blood work done and an ultrasound to see just what's going on", JJ nodded her head and said, "she's been through a lot over the past 5 plus months and I don't even want to imagine the things he did to her".

Emily said, "me either, just thinking of him makes my skin crawl", Reid said, "she's a fighter and hopefully in time her memories will come back", Dave said, "it might be a good thing if they don't, because that means that she will have to play what he did to her over and over again and again", the girls nodded their heads yes in agreement.

Dave was pulled from his thoughts when his cell started ringing, he smiled and hit talk and said, "hello Bella", Fran said, "how's everything going?", he said, "so far so good, she's in the kitchen eating, how are things there?", Fran said, "we're on the way, we should be there in a few hours".

He watched Penelope and Derek from across the room, she was trying so hard to let everything sink in and it was obvious that she was devastated, she never imagined that Sam would do that to her and seeing how broken she was made Dave even more determined to make Sam and his accomplice pay for everything they did.

Reid looked at Penelope and said, "that bastard is gonna pay for what he did to her", JJ said, "that he will and we'll all make sure of that", Hotch nodded his head and said, "count on that JJ, count on that", now all that was left was to wait on Fran, Sarah, Desi and the kids then they would all be together as a family for the first time in a long long time.
