Sachiel roared, its skeletal mask glowing with an ominous light as it lunged forward, driving a powerful punch into the chest of the Godslayer. The impact was deafening, sending shockwaves through the battlefield as the robotic titan was knocked backward, its massive form skidding across the ground.
But before it could crash into the buildings behind it, the Godslayer's thrusters roared to life. Twin rocket boosters ignited on its back, stabilizing the behemoth. With a thunderous slam, it landed on its feet, the ground shaking beneath its immense weight. Smoke and dust billowed out from where it had landed, creating a cloud of debris that momentarily obscured the scene.
Unit 01 had already risen from the ground, its purple and green form gleaming in the fading sunlight. Shinji, now fully in control, stood the Evangelion up, gazing in awe at the Godslayer beside him. It was beyond anything he'd ever seen. While Unit 01 was enormous, towering over Tokyo-3's buildings, the Godslayer made it look almost small by comparison.
It would take five Unit 01s stacked on top of each other just to match the height of the colossal machine. Its metal frame was bristling with weapons—missile pods, railguns, plasma cannons, and energy shields—giving it a nightmarish, almost apocalyptic appearance. Its body radiated power, every movement deliberate and mechanical, and its glowing eyes locked onto Sachiel with cold determination.
"Unbelievable..." Shinji muttered inside his cockpit, staring at the Godslayer through his HUD. "It's massive..."
Misato, watching from NERV headquarters, was equally stunned. "What in the world is that thing made of? It's like a walking fortress."
"It seems the Americans didn't just build a weapon—they built a titan," Ritsuko replied, her voice laced with awe and a hint of concern. "That thing could change the balance of power."
"Focus!" Gendo's voice cut through the moment. "Unit 01 and the Godslayer must work together. Shinji, stay in sync and follow its lead. We cannot afford to lose this fight."
Sachiel, undeterred by the size of its new foe, charged again. Its massive limbs glowed with energy, preparing to deliver another devastating blow. The Godslayer, however, reacted with cold efficiency. It raised its arm, and a series of energy shields unfolded around its wrist, blocking the incoming attack.
With a mechanical roar, the Godslayer retaliated. Rockets fired from its shoulders, followed by a barrage of railgun rounds, all aimed directly at Sachiel. The Angel's AT Field flickered as it absorbed the brunt of the assault, but cracks began to form under the relentless fire.
Shinji, spurred into action, activated Unit 01's progressive knife, its blade glowing as he charged forward to join the fight. With a powerful leap, Unit 01 slashed at Sachiel's exposed core, slicing through the weakened AT Field.
The combined assault was too much for the Angel to withstand. Sachiel staggered backward, struggling to regenerate as the Godslayer and Unit 01 pressed their attack. Explosions erupted all around them as missiles and energy blasts tore through the Angel's body.
"Now, Shinji!" Misato shouted through the comms. "Finish it!"
Shinji gritted his teeth, pushing Unit 01 forward with everything he had. With one final, desperate strike, he drove the progressive knife deep into Sachiel's core. There was a blinding flash of light as the Angel let out a final, guttural cry before exploding into a brilliant cascade of energy.
Silence fell over the battlefield. The smoke and dust slowly cleared, revealing the shattered remains of Sachiel, now nothing more than a smoldering crater. Unit 01 stood panting, its energy reserves nearly depleted. Next to it, the Godslayer loomed, still standing tall and unwavering, as if the battle had barely fazed it.
From NERV headquarters, Gendo watched the scene unfold, his fingers steepled as a rare smile crossed his face. "So, the game has changed. But for whom?"
In the sky, the American jets circled, keeping a vigilant eye on their colossal creation. The Godslayer turned its head slightly, glancing at Unit 01 for a brief moment before turning back toward the horizon, as if awaiting its next command.
For the first time, humanity had another titan on its side—but what that meant for the future was far from certain.
