A TRAINER WITH HIGH PRESTIGE WHO HAS TRAINED WITH THE GYM TRAINERS OF BOTH HAMMERLOCKE AND BLACKTHORN GYM SINCE A VERY YOUNG AGE. A TRAINER OF DRAGON TYPE POKEMON HE HAS NOW BUILT A MORE DIVERSE TEAM TO COMPETE AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL. IN THE RED CORNER WE HAVE DUSTIN A TRAINER WHO IS SHOWING JUST HOW COMPETENT HE IS. HE HAS SAILED THROUGH THE ROUND OF 64 AND 32 WITHOUT LOSING A SINGLE POKEMON. HIS FERALIGATR AND SUDOWOODO BOTH CONCISELY DEFEATED GRACE WHILE THE COMBINED EFFORT OF HIS TOGETIC, LANTURN AND LAPRAS MADE QUICK WORK OF FFION IN THE ROUND OF 32. IF HE PROGRESS TODAY WITHOUT LOSING A SINGLE POKEMON HE WILL SET A RECORD IN THE JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY. PLEASE NOW WELCOME BOTH TRAINER TO THE FIELD!
As the announcer ends and the ceremony music begins to play, I make my way down the tunnel out onto the field. I feel a sense of confidence flowing through my whole body, it was a stark contrast to how I had felt a year ago battling in the Kanto Junior championship. Now I felt like I had a real chance to progress into the end of the tournament and maybe even win it. I had checked my world championship ranking after defeating Ffion and I had now made it up to 139th in the rankings. Taking on Francis would certainly be a challenge but it was something I defiantly think I was able to overcome. I come out onto the field and take my position on my side of the field looking off out towards Francis. I shoot him a smile before calling out
"Good luck"
Francis just stares cold at me, not flinching or talking back to me, he appears very stiff.
Is he trying to intimidate me or is he just really nervous
I shake my head and refocus, Francis only had 6 Pokemon registered for the final and in his battle yesterday he had used his Piloswine, Forretress and Gilgar. They had only just scraped past their opponent so I had forward though that it would be his other three Pokemon in Ursaring, Hitmonchan and Quagsire participating today so I had planned for each of them accordingly.
"If both trainer are ready then please select your first Pokemon" the referee announces
I throw out my first ball as Francis does. Typholsion emerges flaring its back up and roars while opposite Hitmonchan emerges beginning to shadow punch

"Hitmonchan, Mach Punch""
Typholsion block it with Thunder Punch"
The two lunge forward and the punches collide with each other
"Use your other arm and hit it with a Mega Punch" Francis calls
Hitmonchan winds it other arm back and plants it directly into Typholsions midriff sending it skidding along the floor recoiling
"You okay?" I question as it shakes it head before grunting back in confirmation.
"Okay use Flamethrower!"Typholsion gets on its haunches and blasts out a huge stream of fire engulfing Hitmonchan completely who cries out in pain
"Follow it up with Thunder Punch!"
Typholsion races in and slams it fist glowing yellow into the face of Hitmonchan slamming it to the ground, it quickly then speeds away to avoid a retaliation. Hitmonchan pull itself to its feet
"Hitmonchan Bulk Up!"
It stands firmly and focuses on the spot causing it muscle to expand
"Finish this up, Flamethrower!"
Typholsion get down on its haunches again and fires off a stream of fire
"Mach Punch!"
Hitmonchan speeds past the attack and slams Typholsion however Typholsion manages to take the hit.
"Play Rough!"
Typholsion tackles Hitmonchan to the floor shining a bright pink, it flip itself away to be standing in front of me while Hitmonchan stays on the ground laid out
"Hitmonchan is unable to battle" Calls the referee
"Nice work Ty!" I shout out as Francis return Hitmonchan
"Quagsire go!"
He throw out his next Pokemon and Quagsire appears
"Typholsion come back for now, Meganium your up"
I send out Meganium who slams down on the field with a huge thud
Got two correct now, nearly there
"Quagsire, use Sludge Bomb!"
Quagsire retches and sends off a flurry of purple blobs, the pepper Meganium who stumble
backwards
"Meganium, Petal Blizzard!"
Meganium roars and send off a column of pink petals that flies towards Quagsire and hit it clean causing huge damage, Quagsire falls to one knee
"Finish it up, Giga Drain!"
Meganium sends out it vines which wrap around Quagsire, the vine spread some roots which begin to absorb Quagsires energy and healing Meganium, it falls flat on its face while Meganium retracts its vines
"Quagsire is unable to battle"
"Way to go Meganium!" I shout out as Meganium flutters it petals in victory
Francis returns Quagsire sighing as he does
"Ursaring go!"
Ursaring touches down on the ground and roars
"Bulk up now!"
Ursaring does the same as Hitmonchan and bulk its body up
"Meganium, use Petal Blizzard"
Meganium again summons a column of pink petals and fires them off, it flies toward Ursaring and envelope it
"Blow it away"
Ursaring whips its arms around to remove the column of petals
"Now Bulk Up again!"
Ursaring once again bulk up its body
"Grab it with your vines"
Meganium sends out two of it vines and grabs hold of Ursaring at the arms trying to stun its
movement
"Body Slam!"
Meganium rushes in and jump atop Ursaring sending it to the ground, it calls out in pain before a
spark engulfs it showing it paralysed
"Gotcha!" Francis shouts confidently
"Meganium get away from it now!"
Meganium looks around confused as Ursaring burst up eyes glowing with a red tinge as it guts ability come into affect
"Ice Fang"
Ursaring bites down hard on Meganium causing ice to encase its body
"Now use Fire Punch!"
It roars and slams a flaming punch right into Meganium sending it flying backwards, she skids across the floor coming to a hault
"Meganium is unable to battle"
Shit this isn't good
I return Meganium to her ball before thanking her for her efforts
"Typholsion come out!"
Typholsion emerges onto the field staring at Ursaring who is grunting and roaring ready to go
"Ursaring, Slash!"
Ursaring sprints in claws elongated
"Flamethrower"
Typholsion drops down and sends off a huge stream of flame which engulfs Ursaring, however the bear takes the damaged and just keeps sprinting forward slamming Typholsion twice across the body causing it to skid backwards
"Keep Slashing!" Francis shouts
Typholsion continue to take the hits not falling backwards
"We got to go for it Typholsion Reversal!"
Typholsion roars it back flames burning red hot and high, it glows a bright white before recklessly tackling Ursaring with its full power while it still slashes away at it, they collide into the ground and a cloud of dust is kicked up. As it settles, Ursaring stands roaring while Typholsion is on the ground unable to continue. I return him to his ball as the referee calls the match
"Okay, Togetic I need you"
"Toge!"
Togetic calls out happily before fluttering around the field, Ursaring roars at it before panting heavily.
"Toge use Ancientpower"
Togetic glows purple and summons rocks from the ground before flinging them at Ursaring who attempt to smash them with Fire Punch but a few hit it
"Slash get it!"
Ursaring rushes in
"Fly away!"
Togetic just manages to dodge by flying up
"Dazzling Gleam!"
Togetic glow pink and sends off a flurry of pink shards which cut at Ursaring
"Ursaring jump and grab it!"
"Wait Togetic"
Togetic stays still as Ursaring leaps towards it
"Spin away!"
Togetic just manages to slip away as Ursaring falls towards the ground
"Air Slash!"
Togetic spins in the air sending a flurry of slashes into the back of Ursaring who is slammed into the ground, it roars in defiance into the ground before falling flat on it stomach unable to go on. Togetic flutters over calling out happing I catch it and pull it into a hug
"Great work Toge! You were amazing!" I call-out spinning around in victory
I stop and walk up to Francis and shake his hand, he congratulates me before running off down his tunnel to the changing room, I wave up to some of the spectator who are congratulating me before I head down to the dressing room. I pass Meganium and Typhlosion balls to the centre attended who take them away to heal before sitting myself down on the bench
Into the quarter finals, we could really do this
My phone buzzes and I pull it from my pocket, a message from Ryan is on the screen
Hey buddy,
I caught the end of the match and congratulations! You dealt really well with the change in tempo. The Prof messaged me to say that Meganium and Typholsion were excellent too. Sorry I haven't be able to make it to any battles yet, got some secret works ongoing at the moment, I'd tell you about it but Daisy would kill me. I'll try and make it later in the tournament. Keep up the good work bud!
I smile and set my phone down planning to reply to him a bit later on. I call Grandma and she gushes over my battling so far, she says she's really proud and that the whole town has set up a viewing screen in the town hall and supposedly the whole town is coming out to watch me fight. I laugh nervously at the fact but its nice to feel support from everyone back home. She says that she has some time off work so she going to travel up to watch my next match which is in two days time. After a while we say our goodbyes and I collect Meganium and Typholsion for the centre attendant. I walk happily out of the stadium, I was the last battle of the day so most of the spectators are making there way home. Oscar had battled yesterday and won pretty easily, we had said we would meet up by the food truck in the centre of the conference village so I begin to head that way. I spot him sat at one of the table on the outskirts of the area. I rush up to him happily but he seems pretty down. He spots me and tries to look a bit more cheery
"Oh hey, your battle was great you smashed it" He says
"Whats up?" I question
"Oh well uh, have you checked your phone?"
I shake my head
"Check it"
I pull my phone from my pocket and unlock it, there a notification across the banner
