Pokemon Elysian

Kalos has been a relatively peaceful region since the Great War thousands of years ago. This starts changing due to the prescence of Team Flare and Lysandre who want to use the Ultimate Weapon and wipe out all life. Will Lucius be able to fulfil his dream of becoming a Pokemon Master in an everchanging Kalos with so much politcal turmoil?

1. Synopsis

A summary of what you can expect from this story-

1) OC isn't just some random bozo who just decides to become a trainer one day and becomes a master. Our protagonist is actually talented and has researched Pokemon thoroughly since a very young age aswell as being the student of a professor.

2) It's an accurate representation of living in the Pokemon world. It's not gonna be a meatgrinder where simply stepping in a route or forest is enough to kill you. I will also follow the rules of biology and not the power of friendship, Pidgeys aren't gonna beat Rhyperiors. Training helps to a certain extent but it doesn't matter how much you train a Pitbull, it can't kill a Tiger.

3) Pokemon have reduced powerlevels, or atleast are not as strong as some fics depict them to be. Of course there will be strong Pokemon who can shape mountains, destroy cities and pose a threat to human settlements but these are the exception, not the rule. If even relatively weaker Pokemon could like Mightyena or Butterfree could kill humans with ease, then it would make very little sense for humans to be able to build entire cities, let alone catch Pokemon in special devices and command them around.

4) It's gonna be pretty light hearted and tame early on but gets more sinister and murky later on. This also applies to the personality of our OC.

5) Certain Pokemon have animal-level intelligence, while some are really smart. It also varies based on each individual just like it would for humans.

6) Also gonna be a realistic world where people becoming Pokemon trainers is the minority, most people have ordinary jobs. Think of battling like becoming an athlete, not everyone has the talent or desire to become a professional athlete. Most serious trainers in this fic aren't gonna have your typical rags to riches story that you see a lot in pokemon fics either since being poor would make becoming a trainer so much harder due to a lack of resources and backing from one's family. There will still be people who are amateur trainers and enjoy it as a hobby
