''Now what to do about you…'' The spear was basically attached to my hand. Not even having my palm open makes it fall, like it's stuck to my body in general. From what I know of the show, it won't come off if I just throw it, either.
''Maybe I can store it in the Inventory?'' When the tab opens, I try to put the spear in like I did with regular objects… and nothing happens.
It was worth a shot.
I look around the apartment until my gaze falls on the wardrobe. An idea occurs, if some of my clothes were transported here, maybe it was the same for some of my things?
Opening the drawers on the bottom, I find things like a few mangas, some hairbands that I take for later, and… are those my glasses?
Touching my face, just now I realize I wasn't wearing them.
''Huh… Neat.'' When trying to put them back on, I can feel my vision worsening. Yeah, that checks out. I will need to get some made without any prescription if I ever want to wear glasses again.
Whatever. Finally, at the end of the drawer, I found what I was looking for. It's a small chain with a refined amethyst at the center. I wasn't one to wear jewelry, but I like the color purple so… eh.
Some fanfics I've read gave me this idea. I take apart the little rock from the chain, and then I proceed to shove both of them inside of the red gem in the spear.
There is a red glow produced by the gem when it absorbs the items, and then a notification pops up.

It was mostly as I remember. The bonus effects will be added to the weapon's stats once I master them. Except for the ones that have my stats, like those that have 'CON Up'. Still, for any bonus to be applied, I need to wait. The timer shows that the unlock time is around twelve hours and that time will be reduced by unlocking more Weapon Forms.
I could still use the effects or skills on them if I change the Weapon Form, tho. So, I changed to the Chain Spear and, just like the name says, it's a longer spear with a handle made of metal chains and a steel spearhead.
Concentrating, I will the weapon to become smaller, a lot smaller, to the point it's basically a little chain with a detailed little spear attached to it. At once, I put it around my neck, leaving both of my hands free.
''Nice, it worked. As long as a part of the spear is touching my body it won't go back to my hand.'' A smile spreads across my face at a job well done.
Now, what's next?
I would recommend going to grab your school uniform. After all, today is the day 'you' said you would go and get it. You also are getting a tour of the school by the staff, since you are in your second year, you don't have an entrance ceremony.

I was late. I even rushed a shower and dressed up quickly in a purple shirt, black pants and shoes, and my favorite black jacket. I had to take advantage of the chilly day since I love wearing long clothes. Finally, I tied my hair in a short ponytail.
I have to say, tho. it looks way better in this new body than it did in my old one. Supernatural looks are crazy, man.
Anyway. Turns out, I don't have any knowledge of the layout of the town, so I got lost. That was the definitive factor in being late.
''Haah… Finally, I'm here.'' Half an hour later than the specified time that is.
The first thing I saw was the gates of the academy, it was really huge. Makes sense, taking into consideration the multiple clubs and the old building at the back.
The second thing was a girl who I believe is supposed to be my guide. She has short black hair with oval-shaped glasses covering violet eyes. Her uniform is a long-sleeved buttoned shirt in white with black vertical lines, a black ribbon on the collar, a black cape on her shoulders, and a… Is that a corset? Followed by a definitely too-short magenta skirt that shows her (very nice) legs.
This was one Sona Sitri, or was it Souna Shitori? I think that was her 'student' name. All in all, she looked damn gorgeous, but I guess that's a given with devils, huh?
Oh, and as I got closer, I noticed she looked pissed. Absolutely fuming, actually.
Is there some sort of reputation meter? Like a dating sim?

Once I reach the gate, she spots me and narrows her eyes.
''Fumigami Zatren, correct? I believe the time we established for the tour has long passed.'' Her tone was firm, a bit scary too, not gonna lie.
An apologetic smile replaces my usual poker face as I try to go for a bow by Japanese customs, but it feels awkward. I'll have to practice that one later.
''I'm very sorry for the inconvenience, I got lost while looking for the academy…'' I say honestly.
Unbeknownst to me, her face goes through a few emotions. First, she scowls a bit, which leads to confusion, and surprise, and finally, a stone-like expression as she gets her reactions under control.
''I understand; I have been informed of your situation about moving recently to Japan. Still, I expect you to get familiarized before the start of class. No excuses, understood?'' The anger of her tone was gone, but her words left no room for arguing about that.
Sheesh, talk about strict. that's Japan for you, or maybe she just has a really long stick up her ass?
I raise my head, giving a head nod in understanding. ''Yes, thank you very much. Could I get your name? Um… Senpai…?'' I cringe so fucking hard. That's going to take a lot of time to get used to.
She also nods her head, approvingly it seems.
''Yes, of course. Introductions are important, my name is Shitori Souna. I am the Student Council's President. A pleasure to be your acquaintance.'' That's so formal. Aren't we almost the same age?
''Fumigami Zatren, Likewise.'' I respond curtly.
She frowns a bit. ''Now, I believe a school tour is in order. After that, you will be given the school's mandatory uniform. Please don't lose it, break it, nor alter it in any way.''
''Can I wear a jacket over it?'' I really like my jacket. She looks owlishly at me for a moment before conceding.
''Yes… You may wear a jacket over the uniform.''

I will admit, while I'm not one to usually judge for appearances, the first impression I had of Fumigami was of a rule breaker.
He came half an hour late, dressed in black pants, a black leather jacket, and a purple undershirt. He had an uninterested expression, wild dark hair, the back tied into a ponytail, and a decorative chain with a spear on his neck. Also, he was a bit rude, but I could let that slide.
If I was being honest, he had a bit in the looks department. That only made me believe he fell even more into a sort of bad/tough boy persona.
The next impression of him, however…
''Ah, so there are 6 class periods in total with a 10-minute rest in between? Is there a lunch break?'' He asks while writing on a notepad.
''Yes, lunch break is at 12:30 and it lasts 40 minutes, you can either bring your own lunch or buy things at the cafeteria,'' I explain while looking at him. I'm kind of surprised, actually.
He was actually taking notes on most things I said while we passed the classrooms, cafeteria, and even the sports section outside. His impassive face barely changed, it looked quite dismissive and uninterested. Also, he looked kind of tired with those bags under his eyes.
I can already see the rumors forming. After all, someone dressed in all black, with rude mannerisms and an unfriendly face will give you the total impression of a delinquent. But, his voice and diligence were a good indicator of his true character, I think.
So my first impression was slowly fading. Replaced by an interested, if a bit weird student.
That is if he were a normal student. The second thing she noticed after his appearance was the magic radiating off of him, and under it, there was something else, a Sacred Gear probably.
Either he already knew about the supernatural and was planning something, or he didn't, and was exuding his magic out unknowingly. Either way, I would keep an eye on him, if it turned out to be the latter, I could protect him from rogue elements, maybe even recruit him.
If it was the former… Well, it isn't my first time dealing with malicious people in Kuoh.

On another note, my habit of taking notes in high school is coming back. I'm not really interested in what Sona is saying, but I have to appear at least to be, otherwise, it would be rude.
Leaving a good impression is good too. If I am realistic, Sona is the kind of girl I would totally date if I could back home. Yeah, yeah, I'm basically in the titty world and I'm going for the 'flat' girl, don't care, didn't ask.
I was always more of an ass man anyway.
Right now we are walking in silence from the gym to the student's council room to get my uniform. She already explained the essentials of what I need to know for the school year.

Once in the student council room, I get my uniform. It's a black blazer with some white accents, a white buttoned shirt, a black ribbon at the collar, and black pants. It looks fancy.
''I thank you once more, senpai. I hope you have a good vacation and I'll see you when class starts.'' I give a slight bow to Sona, less stiff than before.
''You too, Fumigami-san. Enjoy your break and be ready for this year, you better not fall behind in class.'' She responds sternly.
With a nod, I take my leave.
Finally, I can get out of here. Once out of the building, I shove the notebook I brought and the uniform into my inventory.
I make my way out of the school grounds. Maybe I should stop by a café? I always wanted to visit one of those with cats in them.

If Zatren was more observant or could feel magic, he would have noticed the little white cat watching him from afar as he went on the lookout for a snack.

Finally, after searching cafes for way too long, I found a cat café!
From the window, I could see all manners of cats. There were mono-colored ones, striped, and some with splashes of different colors.
The food bill for these little ones must be massive.
Once inside, I greet the guy behind the counter and ask for a hot chocolate and a few pastries. He told me I could sit wherever was free since the place was a bit empty at the moment. I took a look around and then I spotted a white-haired, petite girl with a cat clip on her hair. She is wearing a white, long-sleeved shirt, a brown open vest, and blue shorts while eating cookies and petting a few cats in the process.
Koneko Toujou, the mascot of Kuoh Academy. I can see why, she looks really cute.
There must be a really good joke about a cat going to pet cats in a cat café, but my brain doesn't come up with anything right now.
''Now, let's see…'' I'm not going directly to her table, if the place was crowded then, maybe. But, the place is pretty empty, it would be weird.
I sit at another table nearby and pull out my phone. I'm searching through the web for some things. What things? Anything, really.
Let me explain. The way that Legendary Weapons in the Shield Hero got stronger, was by... 3? Core methods. first was the 'leveling up' option I don't believe I have. Since my System 'absorbed' the spear into itself. In exchange, it's replaced by another version of stats. So, it won't be as easy as just killing things till I 'level up'.
The second way was by the strengthening methods. those of which I haven't looked at, but if I remember correctly, they were the same for every Legendary Weapon. But, since this definitively isn't the same Legendary Spear, I don't know if that would make mine different, or just copy the Spear Hero ones.
''Maybe something like getting points for killing enough enemies, and then using those points for skill upgrades…?'' Wait, wasn't that the Staff's method? Hmm…
Last and the most important is by absorbing… anything.
Yep, just like that. Shove things in the spear's gem and unlock any kind of form. Those will give stat bonuses, use them for long enough and they will get 'mastered' and those bonuses and abilities become permanent for me… or the spear in this case.
There was also the 'Weapon Copy' thing. But, seriously? I doubt there are a lot of magical spears around I can copy. I could be wrong, tho.
So, with the money I got from the Quests, I started buying things. Like a rope and a pipe, I remember a good skill for that.
''I really should get a new phone too…'' Not my fault the screen is cracked to hell and back (It's totally my fault).
In no time, my chocolate and pastries were served and a brown fluffy boi just jumped in my lap and started rubbing himself against my shirt.
''Well hello there buddy.'' I coo with a smile on my face. I start petting the cat, to which it starts purring like the cutest engine alive. Man, I always have a weak spot for pets.
''Cocoa seems to like you.'' I almost choke on my drink. I look up from the cat and see that Koneko has approached me and is just staring at me with another fluffy boi (or girl?) in her arms, this one a white cat with brown and blonde splashes.
''Cocoa huh? Well isn't that a coincidence, boy?'' A small smile crosses my face as I look at the fluff ball already snoring in my lap. I turn to greet the girl with a nod, as one hand is in my mug of chocolate and petting Cocoa.
''So, what is that one called?'' I ask in curiosity. ''Something like Palette?''
It was more because of the variety of colors on it.
''…'' She just stares at me for a moment before answering. ''His name is Reggie.''
I place the mug down and stare at her dead in the eyes.

''Reggie the Third.'' She specifies, is she fucking with me? I can hear something else in her tone.

''That's a nice name.'' I end up saying, but… Reggie, really?
She nods and then sits across from me at the same table. She was just staring at me, that's weird. I don't smell like fish by just being half-mermaid, do I?

''Toujou Koneko. Can't say the same, you're kind of weird.'' I almost do a spit-take at that.
Someone is a sassy little shit, it seems. Not like I'm complaining.
If anything, it makes me remember some conversations with my friends. A little snort comes out, and my smile widens slightly.
''Oof, burnt,'' I say in good fun. ''So, why did you decide to come to my table if I am so 'weird'?''
''The cats seem to like you; you can't be a half-bad company then.'' Well, that's some crushing logic right there. I could see some other cats approaching too.
I could also see her looking at my pastries.
''Thanks for the 'compliment', I guess.'' I pass her my pastries, I know this one has a sweet tooth, and really? She's also really cute and can kick my ass. That's like perfect traits, seriously.
She nods once again, not even taking a look at the pastries but surely starts eating them.
''You like cats?'' She asks while munching on a treat.
''Sure do, always wanted to go to one of these cafes, but they don't have them back home for sanitary reasons.'' Or they do have them and it's just ridiculously expensive.
''Sounds like where you're from sucks.'' Snarky little shit. Not wrong tho.
''Pretty much, yeah.'' As she finishes her sweets, she puts Reggie the Third on the ground and stands up.
''Going already?'' She looks at me and nods.
''Yes, have to go do something.'' She looks at the now empty tray of the pastries and gives me a thumbs up. ''You are good for now, have a nice day Schizogami-san.'' And then, she just runs off to do… devil work, maybe?
''Wait… Schizogami?!'' My louder voice makes Cocoa wake from her nap and jump from my lap.

That was a long day, huh? It's getting close to nighttime and I had to eat some of what I made yesterday 'cause some little cat girl brat ate all of my sweets.

I slowly turn my head to my little 'roommate'. It's still in the same place. I think it got slightly bigger.

Suddenly, I get a feeling of… sleepiness. But it's not mine. Looking at Rei, I can see her tucking her legs close to her body in her web. I guess that's how spiders sleep…?

It's getting late.
I change into sleeping clothes. A black T-shirt, and grey sweatpants. Then, I change my spear form into the Amethyst Spear to unlock it while I sleep since the Chain Spear is already mastered.
Finally, I get on the bed ready to sleep… but first I take a look at my new Menu.
I know it changed when the Spear Spirit accepted me as its wielder. I'll take a small peek to see how.

Out of curiosity, I take a look at [Strengthening Methods]. There is something I wanted to check about it.
[Ore Infusion].
This method allows you to use ores to upgrade your preferred weapon form. The upgrades will go from 1 to 10. Each upgrade will make that weapon's base stats rise. NOT THE BONUS STATS.
Be warned that each consecutive upgrade will also have an increasing chance of failure. If the upgrade fails your weapon upgrade level will stay the same, but the materials will be lost.
[Experienced Combat].
When using a weapon form, the more monsters you kill; be it in quantity or quality, the form's 'experience' bar will rise until it reaches 100%. Once the bar fills up you will be able to use that experience to greatly upgrade a Bonus Stat of your choice from the weapon or to 'evolve' the weapon form.
Evolving the weapon form will grant an additional Bonus Stat or upgrade a Bonus Skill to a more powerful one.
[Skill Rank Up].
Similar to the previous method, if you kill lots of monsters or particularly strong ones, you will get Points.
These points can be used to upgrade [Hero Skills] from I to X, but each time it will take more points to upgrade the skill further. Also, you can only upgrade a specific skill once a day.
The upgrades will make the effects of the Hero Skills stronger, and reduce cool-downs and costs.
Once a day passes, you can upgrade the Hero Skill once again, or take the points back to assign to other Hero Skills.
The smelting method looks a bit weird and… Wait.

Each Stat has a number (I don't show it because I don't want to confuse people or make a whole wall of numbers and percentages.) For example: F is between 11 and 25. How does it work? by multipliers. A human will have an x1 multiplier, a devil could have an x1.5, and a rat could have x0.2. So, even if the 'Stat' is at 25, A human will have 25, a Devil 37.5, and a rat will have 5.
This is all an example, stats could be different, but you get the idea.
