Luke spent the night on the Lars Homestead. He was planning on returning to the Jedi Temple shortly when a silver ship approached the homestead and landed. Anakin and Padme walked out it holding hands. "You guys have gotten close. "Luke said. "Where is my mother is she alright? "Anakin asked. "She is inside resting. I bartered with the sandpeople for her release. "Luke explained. They went inside to find Shmi in her bedroom. "Anakin my son I am glad to see you. "Shmi said. "Mother I was worried about you. "Anakin replied. "Luke saved me from the Tuskins. "Shmi replied. "I won't leave you again. "Anakin continued. "Anakin you can't stay with me forever. This is my place. Your place is with Padme. I will be fine. "Shmi said. "Mother I had visions of you dying. "Anakin said. "Maybe you were just worried about me, "Shmi replied. "I believe they are part of a sith plot to turn Anakin to the dark side. "Luke said. "Why my Ani? What did he do to them? "Shmi asked. "Darth Sidious is after Anakin's power because he has the highest mdi chorlian count in history. "Luke explained. "Anakin don't fall for the sith. Stay in the light. "Shmi said. They left and headed to the garage.
"Luke has confused me Anakin. He has an artoo on his ship that claims he is from the future. "Threepio said. "He has come from the future. "Anakin replied. "He knows me from the future. "Threepio said. "You know Threepio? "Anakin asked Luke. "He was Leia's droid along with Artoo. "Luke replied. "How did she get them? "Padme asked. 'I don't know. I suspect Bail got them from somewhere. "Luke replied. Threepio ran out of Padme's ship. "Artoo says there is a message from ObiWan for Anakin. "Threepio said. They ran inside the ship and Artoo played the message. "Anakin send this to the jedi council. I tracked the bounty hunter to Geonosis and I am under attack. "Obi Wan said. "I am on Tatooine with Padme. "Anakin said. "Stay there and guard the senator. "Obi Wan sad as blaster fire erupted around him. Then ObiWan was cut off. "We are staying here. "Anakin said. "Well, I am going to Geonosis and you have to protect me. So you are coming. "Padme Said. "I will follow you there. "Luke said as he headed to his shuttle.
After they landed on Geonosis they entered the battle droid factory and made their way through it. "Luke said Padme fall into a bucket and was about to have hot metal poured on her when Artoo deactivated the machine. "That was too close. "Luke said to himself. Suddenly they were surrounded by Genenosions and captured. They were put in two carriages pulled by creatures into the center of arena. Luke saw Anakin and Padme kiss in the cart ahead of him. They had fallen in love. They were tied to poles in the middle of the arena. Luke to the left of Padme with Obi Wan on the other side of her. Luke watched Padme climb up the pole she was tied to and started to pick the lock on her handcuffs. She opened one and was working on the other when a creature clawed her in the back tearing off one sleeve and the bottom of her shirt. Anakin jumped on the back of a creature and led it towards Padme still on top of her pole. Battle droids were sent in and the creatures knocked several down. Anakin grabbed a blaster with the force and tossed it to Padme. Padme started blasting battle droids. Mace Windu appeared behind Count Dooku and ignited his lightsaber. Other jedi appeared in the aren and tossed lightsaber to Anakin, ObiWan and Luke. They began to fight the droids. Anakin stopped his creature near the pole and Padme jumped down on to it and sat. "That must have hurt her. "Luke said. He noticed Padme had braided her hair like Leia did on Cloud City. Padme even fought like Leia. There had to be a connection. Luke saw Threepio's heado on a battle droid body and Threepio's body with a battle droid head on it. "Same ole threepio always getting in trouble. "Luke said to himself.
Gunships descended into the arena with Yoda standing on one. Luke, Anakin, Padme, and ObiWan got on one and chased after Count Dooku. The gunship shuck and Padme fell out. "We have to stop now!" Anakin shouted. "You will be expelled from the jedi order. What would Padme do if she was here instead of you? "Obi Wan asked. "Shut up fool! "Luke shouted. "I am going after her. Come on Anakin let's leave this nerfherder to his duel. "Luke said and then he jumped out and Anakin followed him. Luke ran over to Padme. "Are you alright? "Luke asked. Padme looked up at him. "I am a little shaken up Luke. "Padme replied. "Anakin I am fine don't worry about me. "Padme said. "I was worried about you. "Anakin replied. The gunship came back and landed. ObiWan stepped out and approached the others. "Anakin you will be expelled along with Luke! "ObiWan shouted. "Back off you jedi droid! Some things are more important than duty. "Luke said. "Count Dooku is getting away. "ObiWan warned. "So, what. He would get far. Is that all you care about? You don't even care about your friends, you jedi droid. "Luke groaned. "Don't you see Anakin was worried about her. He would have rushed in and gotten hurt fighting Dooku. Is that what you want? "Luke explained. "No Luke. We can't have attachments. "ObiWan shouted. "Anakin needs attachment. Loving attachment. If he is the chosen one, then treat him like it. Stop being so stubborn. "Luke growled. "Stop it you, guys. Go get Dooku. "Padme shouted. "We will discuss this later. "ObiWan said. "I will take it up with Yoda. "Luke answered. "Padme stay here. Dooku's lair is no place for a senator. "ObiWan ordered. "Okay I will be waiting. "Padme replied. The jedi boarded the gunship and headed after Dooku.
The reached the entranced to Dooku's lair and jumped off the gunship just before it was shot down. Inside they saw Count Dooku waiting for them. "Anakin you go slowly in on the left, Luke you go in slowly on the right and I will go slowly in on the center. "Obiwan said. They drew close to Dooku. He ignited his red lightsaber and attacked ObiWan. Anakin attacked Dooku who pushed Obiwan back. He attacked Anakin next. They traded blows. Luke noticed Dooku's curved hilt. He was a duelist and could have beaten Darth Vader on Cloud City. Anakin was knocked down. Luke charged at Dooku, and his blow was blocked. Dooku swung at Luke, and he blocked the blow causing saber lock. Luke couldn't overpower Dooku and Dooku couldn't get through Luke's defenses. "You are different than the others. Why is that? "Dooku asked. "I was trained differently. "Luke answered. Luke swung at Dooku again and he jumped out of the way. Dooku landed on a high platform and used the force to hold metal supports over Anakin and ObiWan. Luke was frozen in place trying to decide whether to save his friends or keep fighting Dooku. "Learned new skills old padawan. "A voice said. Dooku lowered the supports to the ground and turned to the newcomer. "Master Yoda how nice to see you. "Dooku said. Luke was surprised to see Yoda enter the room. Dooku shot force lightning at Yoda who caught it. Yoda threw the lightning back. They did it again. Then Dooku ignited his lightsaber and yoda flew towards him. Luke had never seen Yoda in action. The two fought on as Luke checked on his friends. "Are you guys alright? "Luke asked. "A little shaken up. "Obiwan replied. Dooku held a metal support over Yoda as he ran to his solar ship. Dooku took off and fled.
"Luke jumped out of the gunship with Anakin after Padme fell out. They should be expelled for having an attachment to her. "ObiWan explained. "He wanted to leave her behind and didn't care one bit about how Anakin felt about her. Obiwan was acting like a droid. "Luke growled. "Wrong you were Obiwan to leave Padme behind. Not expelled they will be. "Yoda said. "Luke held his ground against Dooku. 'Anakin said. "It is the will of the force that Anakin and Padme are to be together. "Luke said. "Your mother, is she? "Yoda asked. "I am not sure. "Luke answered. "Anakin needs to take the trials. Obiwan keeps hurting him by being too hard on him. "Luke said. "Anakin and Padme are going to get married no matter what you do. "Luke said. "Accept this marriage will we. A healthy attachment it is. "Yoda said. ObiWan was angry. "If Anakin is the chosen one then you must treat him as such. "Luke said. "Take the trials Anakin will. Go with Anakin and Padme to Naboo you will ObiWan and Luke. "Yoda ordered.
They went to Naboo and to the wedding. There as Anakin and Padme were married Luke sensed through the force that Padme was his mother. Now he needed to know why she died before he knew her and how to stop it.
