Legacies and Lightning: Chapter 10
Konoha; Hokage Tower (3 days after leaving Kusa): With Naruto, Anko, Kurenai and Yakumo
Naruto and his team were walking up the stairs to see Hiruzen about their successful mission from Kusa; Naruto had a pep in his step and a smile on his face. Naruto not only completed the mission but also saved a girl from slavery; although he was slightly saddened that he had to see Karin go since he thought she was pretty.
But nothing could bring Naruto down as he marched victoriously down the hall towards the Hokage's office; Anko, Kurenai and Yakumo all looked at him with smiled and chuckled.
"He thinks he's the king of the roost now" Anko whispered and Kurenai spoke.
"Let him have his moment Anko" Kurenai said "and for Kami sake don't tell him about the 'important message'".
"Ok, ok" Anko whispered and Kurenai nodded before looking at Yakumo.
"So Yakumo; are you excited to be back in Konoha after your first C-rank?" Kurenai said and Yakumo nodded.
"Yes, it was quite a thrilling mission" Yakumo said "i hope we get another one soon; we need more experience".
"One step at a time kid" Anko said as she patted Yakumo's head; as they walked Naruto stopped in front of the Hokage's office door and stood in front of it and waited until the others got there.
Naruto looked at the others and spoke "well here we are guys; on the final steps of completing our first C-rank" he said with a smile.
"Well knock on the door and lets end this and get some food; I'm starving" Anko said rubbing her stomach aNd Naruto nodded.
Naruto knocked on the door and heard Hiruzen on the other side speak "come in" he said and Naruto opened the door and marched in with a shit eating grin on his face.
"We're back Ji-Ji; we completed the mission and-" Naruto began until paused mid sentence until he saw who else was in the room "oh… you guys are here".
Naruto was looking at Kakashi, Sasuke, Sakura and an unknown black haired boy with black hair in a black pants and a high cut shirt that showed his midriff.
Kakashi looked at Naruto and his team walk in and spoke with an eye smile "Naruto, how are you doing?" Kakashi asked and Naruto looked at him with a scowl.
"None of your business Kakashi" Naruto said and Kakashi's eye smile dropped; Kakashi hoped after a few years Naruto would forgive him, but apparently not.
"Naruto, my boy; you're back from you're first C-rank mission, how did it go?" Hiruzen said trying to get Naruto's attention off of Kakashi; Naruto looked to Hiruzen and spoke.
"Went good, no one got hurt and no one got killed" Naruto said as Anko walked forward with the scroll in her hands and handed it to Hiruzen.
"Here's the scroll from Kusa; signifying that we indeed drop off the scroll" Anko said looking at Kakashi with a smug smile "and completed. Our. First. C-rank. Mission". Anko put heavy emphasis in the words making Kakashi gain a tic mark and feel both anger and jealousy at Anko.
"Very good you four; I'll process the mission and get you payed" Hiruzen said "and for you're information Naruto; Sasuke along with the remaining students of your former class year graduated the day after you left".
Sasuke walked up to Naruto and spoke "Well, well, looks like the class loser finally shows his head after all these years" Sasuke said with an arrogant smirk "I'm surprised you haven't gotten killed falling on your own Kunai or something".
"That's funny; considering I passed the exams three years before you did Sasuke" Naruto said with a smirk of his own "guess the 'last Uchiha' is all bark and no bite".
"Shut up you idiot" Sakura screeched making Yakumo, Anko and Kurenai cover their ears "We're the best genin in this years graduating class; we are leaps and bounds ahead of you".
Naruto snorted at this "Please, I killed a chunin my first night as a genin" Naruto said referring to Mizuki "me and Yakumo are so much better that you guys".
Naruto looked at Sakura and spoke "you look like you can barely lift twenty pounds without pulling a muscle" he said making Sakura fume in anger. Naruto then turned to Sauske "Sasuke looks like the same hot tempered pretty boy that all the girls won't stop jacking off" he said making Anko laugh, Yakumo blush, Kurenai roll her eyes and Sasuke scowl. "And you" Naruto said pointing at the pale boy, but was lost for words "uh… who the hell are you; I don't think you were in my class?"
The pale boy chuckled, put on a fake smile spoke "my name is Sai; I'm a transplant in the class since you left" Sai said "and you must be the 'idiot' Sakura always talks about".
Naruto scowled at this and spoke "ok first of all, you look creepy as hell" Naruto said to Sai who paid it no mind "second, how about all three of you back up what you're saying huh?"
Kakashi hearing this began to speak "Naruto; Sasuke, Sakura and Sai are all fresh out of the academy" Kakashi said "I don't think that-".
"You're on loser" Sasuke said stepping forward.
'Oh shit' Kakashi thought.
"Time to show you where you belong" Sasuke said and Naruto began to scowl.
"Yeah, standing on your charred corpse" Naruto said making Sasuke even more angry "bring it on bitch; I'll wipe the floor with you".
"You know what; I think this is an excellent idea" Hiruzen said speaking up and breaking up a potential fight "go to training ground seven and have some sparring matches; but no killing". "Kurenai will referee the fights" Hiruzen said looking at Kurenai who got the message "and you know what, to make it fair it should be boys vs girls".
Naruto looked at Ji-Ji and spoke "I'm sure Yakumo can take Sakura; but I really wanted to fight Sasuke" Naruto said taking a jab at Sasuke who got even more heated.
"Lets go" Sasuke said as he, Sakura, Sai, Naruto and Yakumo walked out.
"Oh boy I wanna see this" Anko said chasing after them; Kakashi looked at Hiruzen and spoke.
"Why, Lord Hokage?" Kakashi asked Hiruzen spoke.
"They want to kick the crap out of each other, do it on their own time and not in my office" Hiruzen said as he picked up his pipe and began smoking "besides, maybe being beaten by the 'class idiot' will humble Sasuke a little bit".
Kakashi sighed and began to walk out "come on Kurenai; we have some sparring to see" he said and Kurenai nodded.
'Well it looks like my day just went downhill super fast' Kurenai thought as she began to walk out of the room 'I hope Asuma's not expecting me'.
Kurenai's apartment: with Asuma
Asuma was wearing nothing but a red speedo and a bow tie in Kurenai's dimly lit room; there were candles lit, wine in an ice bucket and cake on a table.
'My lovely Kurenai is finally back from what Kotetsu told me' Asuma thought in excitement 'now I just got to wait for her to get back here for a night full of alcohol, sex and cake; damn she's going to love this'. Asuma laid down on the bed which had rose petals laid out on it and turned on Kurenai's t.v and began to watch a show 'now I just have to wait' he thought.
10 minutes later; Training ground 7: With Team Anko, Team Kurenai, and Team 7
Naruto was standing in the middle of a field with Sai standing on the other side about 40 yards apart; Naruto did not have any of his weapons and neither did Sai as to not accidentally kill each other.
Kurenai stood in between Naruto and Sai in the middle of the clearing while Yakumo and Anko stood on one side and Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi stood on the other side. Kurenai cleared her throat and spoke.
"Ok boys, this is going to be a sparring match" Kurenai said "no killing, no crippling, no weapons and no full powered jutsu; are we clear?"
"Yep" Naruto said nodding his head and Sai nodded as well.
"All right; get ready" Kurenai said as she raised her hand and everyone got ready "begin"; Kurenai dropped her hand and jumped back and Naruto made a single hand sign.
"Lightning clone jutsu" Naruto shouted as four bolts of lightning shot off him and hit the ground forming four clones "get 'em boys!"
Naruto and his clones all charged at Sai who stood in place as he took out a scroll and a brush; Sai scribbled down some in quickly and made a hand sign.
'Ninja Art: Super Beast Scroll' Sai thought as five ink creations jumped off the page and shot out towards Naruto; the ink formed into small lions and Naruto went wide eyed.
"What the hell" Naruto shouted as he formed his chakra and activated his red lightning cloak; as one of the ink lion approached him Naruto jumped over and spun around sending a kick towards the lion's head. Naruto's kick hit the lion and destroyed it; the lion fell apart and was reduced to a puddle on the ground.
Naruto's four clones had some success; one was destroyed by a ink lion but took it out when it dispelling into lightning. Another clone self destructed in order to take out it's lion while the last two were able to destroy the ink lions before they could land a bite or a scratch; Naruto and his two remaining clones closed the distance.
Sai saw this and got into his taijutsu stance as Naruto ran up and sending a kick towards Sai's head; Sai ducked under the kick and sent a kick of his own towards Naruto. Sai kicked Naruto in the back using the rubber sole of his sandal to not get electrocuted and knocking Naruto away.
Naruto was sent flying off to the side and landed in a crouch as his two clones approached Sai and began to attack him. The first clone threw a punch at Sai who blocked and parried the punch before retaliating with a punch of his own knocking the clone back before it could explode into Lightning.
The second clone began to attack Sai who began to dodge and weave the punches; the clone figuring out he wasn't going to be able to land a hit on Sai was about to self destruct. Sai seeing this was about to kick the clone away and raised his foot but before he could his other leg was grabbed.
Naruto used his 'Static Strings Jutsu' to grab onto Sai's leg that was still on the ground and in one swift motion pulled back with all his might and sent Sai to the ground face first just as the clone exploded into lightning. Sai was being shocked by the explosion and Naruto took this opportunity to close the distance.
The lightning died down and Sai got back up only to be kicked in the ribs and fall onto his back and Naruto getting on top of him; Naruto cocked back his fist and threw a punch stopping it and inch away from Sai's face.
"Stop" Kurenai shouted as she jumped next to Naruto and spoke "the winner of this match is Naruto"; Kurenai walked away just as Naruto got off of Sai and Sai got back up.
Sai looked to Naruto with a fake smile and spoke "good job Uzumaki" Sai said before leaning in closer and whispering "Looks like everything Lord Danzo told me about you is true". Naruto went wide eyed at this.
"Danzo; you know him?" Naruto whispered back and Sai nodded before leaning in closer.
"He's my master; and he's always watching" Sai said "he'll be seeing you soon"; without saying another word Sai turned around leaving Naruto puzzled. Naruto only met Danzo once and that was the night he killed Mizuki; Naruto was left with more questions than answers as he wondered why Danzo wanted to see him.
Naruto walked out of the field and next to his team; Anko and Kurenai could see something was bothering Naruto but before they could ask Yakumo spoke up.
"Good job Naruto; you did really well" Yakumo said and Naruto looked at her and smiled.
"Thanks Yakumo, I appreciate it" Naruto said rubbing the back of his head "now it's your turn; go in there and kick some butt" Naruto said and Yakumo nodded with a smile.
"Ok, wish me luck" Yakumo said as she jogged to the middle of the field.
"Sai, what the hell was that?" Sakura shouted "you can beat Kiba, Choji and Shikamaru in a fight, but not Naruto; what's wrong with you?"
Sai looked at Sakura and spoke "Oh, I just had an off day today; unlike you who has one every day" Sai said with a fake smile "after all you looks so horrifically ugly whenever I see you".
"WHY YOU" Sakura roared before Kakashi grabbed her by the back of the collar and spoke.
"Sakura, shut up and fight Yakumo already" Kakashi said as he pushed the fuming pinkette towards the middle of the field; after he did this Kakashi looked at Sai suspiciously. 'Sai is better than Sasuke in taijutsu and ninjutsu; so why did he not fight as well as he usually does?' Kakashi thought narrowing his eye 'why did he throw that fight?'
Sakura stood across from Yakumo about 20 yards away and she looked at the pale fidgeting girl 'ha, I have to fight her; she looks weaker willed than Hinata' Sakura thought as she got into her taijutsu stance 'this'll be a piece of cake'.
Yakumo looked at Sakura nervously before swallowing hard 'ok Yakumo, you can do this; just remember your training' she thought as she also got into her taijutsu stance.
Kurenai got in between Yakumo and Sakura and raised her hand and spoke "ok you two; get ready" she said and both girls nodded "ok, get ready… begin". Kurenai jumped back and the match began.
Sakura rushed forward taking the initiative and went through hand signs 'clone jutsu' she thought; Sakura created 2 clones and Yakumo seeing this made a hand sign. Sakura cocked back her fist and threw a punch at Yakumo.
Sakura's punch went through Yakumo as Yakumo burst into rose petals 'what?' Sakura thought as she began to look around and one of her clones faded away. However her other clone didn't fade away as it looked at Sakura and began to scream a loud scream and Sakura covered her ears.
The Sakura clone stopped screaming as it's mouth hung open and it's eyes were wide open; the clones eyes popped out of it's head and numerous bugs began to crawl out of the clones mouth.
"Ahhhh" Sakura screamed; Sakura was panicking having no idea what was going on as the clone began to rush towards her arms extended out. Sakura realized that this was not normal 'wait a minute… this is a genjutsu' Sakura thought as she made a hand sign "Release".
The genjutsu released and Yakumo was in front of Sakura with her hand cocked back; Yakumo threw a punch and drove her fist into Sakura's stomach making her cough out her breath. Yakumo decided to take a page out of Naruto's book and use his 'Naruto combo'.
Yakumo sent another punch to Sakura's gut before sending an upper cut lifting Sakura off of the ground slightly; Yakumo threw another rising punch sending sakura even higher into the air before jumping up and sending a kick hitting Sakura under the chin and sending her spinning backwards.
Sakura hit the ground several times before coming to a complete stop and getting back up with some blood coming from her mouth 'this bitch' Sakura thought as she began to go through hand signs. 'I'll show her real genjutsu' Sakura thought as she finished her hand signs and faded away.
Yakumo looked around wondering where Sakura went when some roots began to come out of the ground and wrap themselves around Yakumo's legs and went up her body. A tree grew out of the ground where Yakumo was and the tree wrapped itself around Yakumo restraining her as Sakura began to come out of the tree.
"Got you now" Sakura roared as she threw a punch at Yakumo; Sakura's punch hit Yakumo and stick inside her head making her go wide eyed. Yakumo turned to mud and hardened around Sakura's hand making her unable to pull her hand out.
Yakumo rose up of the ground like it was made of water and cocked back her fist "sorry" Yakumo said before delivering a punch to Sakura's jaw sending her to the ground. Sakura laid on the ground and her genjutsu began to fade as the tree disappeared but the mud substitute Yakumo made stayed there making Kakashi, Sai and Sauske go wide eyed.
'Wait a minute; that wasn't a genjutsu?' Kakashi thought as he flared his chakra to dispel any genjutsu in the area; Kakashi was stunned when the mud substitute was still there 'how was she able to substitute in a genjutsu; forming your own chakra should be impossible for a genin, even some jonin have trouble forming chakra that way?'
'So it's true; her genjutsu abilities are so strong they can become reality' Sai thought 'lord Danzo was right once again'.
Kurenai went to the middle of the field and spoke "the winner is Yakumo" Kurenai said with a smile looking at her apprentice "good job my apprentice; go and wait by the others".
Yakumo smiled and nodded and spoke "yes sensei" Yakumo said as she walked over to Anko and Naruto who both patted her shoulder and congratulated her.
Kurenai walked over to Sakura who was getting up shakily to her feet and spoke "good try Sakura; maybe next time you'll do better" she said trying to cheer her up.
Sakura spat some blood on the ground and spoke "next time I'm going to pound her into the ground until she can't get back up" Sakura said making Kurenai go wide eyed as Sakura walked away.
'Geez it was just a sparring match; is she really that petty?" Kurenai thought looking at Sakura as she walked back to her group.
Sakura stood next to Sasuke who looked at her and spoke "that was pathetic Sakura" he said and Kakashi spoke.
"Now, now, Sasuke; there's no need for that" Kakashi said "you should be trying to give her words of encouragement and helpful advice; as a team member you should-".
"Both of them fought and were defeated without landing a serious blow to Naruto or that girl" Sasuke said looking at Kakashi with a glare "it's clear that they're weak and far below my skill level".
Sai looked at Sasuke and spoke "oh… well why don't you give us an example Sasuke; unless you're as dickless as I think you are". Sasuke began to growl and Sakura spoke up.
"Shut up Sai; Sasuke is right, we lost because we were weak" Sakura said taking Sasuke's side "don't talk down to him".
Kakashi looked at this groaned and began to rub his temples 'how did I get stuck with these kids… I'd rather be back in the Anbu' he thought.
Meanwhile Naruto, Anko, Kurenai and Yakumo looked on horrified at the supposed 'team 7'; Sasuke looked down on everyone, Sakura was being a fangirl over Sasuke, Sai couldn't give less of a shit and Kakashi looked like he wanted to kill himself.
"Wow… they are dysfunctional as hell" Anko said and everyone nodded.
"Nice to know Sasuke has gotten worse over the years" Naruto said "he's an even bigger prick than he was in the academy". As soon as Naruto said that Sasuke began to walk towards the center of the field and Naruto took a breath and started walking to the field too "ok, time for round two" he said.
Naruto stopped in the middle of the field standing about 40 yards away from Sasuke and Naruto got into his taijutsu stance with Sasuke following suit; Kurenai walked forward and stood in between Naruto and Sasuke.
"Ok same rules as before you two; don't go overboard" Kurenai said and Naruto nodded.
"Ok Kurenai sensei" Naruto said; Kurenai looked at Sasuke who merely grunted and Kurenai sighed.
"Ok then… begin" Kurenai said dropping her hand and both Naruto and Sasuke rushed towards each other; Naruto threw a right punch at Sasuke and Sasuke blocked it and countered with an right elbow aimed for Naruto's jaw.
Naruto leaned back as the elbow missed his face and Naruto spun around before jumping and swinging his right leg in a reverse kick; Sasuke raised his arm and blocked the blow but the momentum made him drop his arm. Sasuke realized too late that this was Naruto's plan as he was performing a spinning double kick; Naruto's left leg hit Sasuke in the face making him spit up blood and stumble back a little.
Sasuke growled as he went back in and began to throw several punched and kicks at Naruto who began to block the attacks; Sasuke threw a punch which Naruto blocked, but Sasuke quickly changed his attack and grabbed onto Naruto's arm. Sasuke twisted Naruto's arm and put him in an arm lock making him bend over while he threw a kick; Sasuke delivered a kick to Naruto's face knocking his head up and making blood shoot out of his mouth.
Sasuke used his free hand to punch Naruto in the stomach knocking the wind out of him before grabbing his arm and throwing Naruto; Naruto flew in the air before correcting himself and landing. Upon landing Naruto saw Sasuke going through hand signs.
'Fire Style: Fire Ball Jutsu' Sasuke launched a weakened fireball towards Naruto and Naruto went wide eyed.
'SHIT' Naruto thought as he went through hand signs before stopping 'Lightning Style: Lightning Bolt'; Naruto pointed his right hand which had his right glove at the oncoming fire ball and fired a bolt of lightning at it.
The two jutsu collided and created a small explosion sending dust and debris around making the onlookers cover their eyes; Sasuke had to cover his eyes too and when he looked at the cloud of smoke he saw Naruto rushing out with his red lightning cloak activated.
Sasuke brought back his fist and threw a punch at Naruto and hit him in the face slightly burning his hand; the next thing Sasuke knew Naruto exploded into electricity shocking him while the real Naruto came out of the smoke and attacked.
Naruto used a lightning clone to distract Sasuke and came out to attack when Sasuke was distracted; Naruto cocked back his fist and shouted "got you now dick face" Naruto shouted as he sent a punch towards Sasuke.
Sasuke could not move when Naruto slammed his fist into his face and knocked him to the ground shocking him for a second time; eventually the electrocution died down and Sasuke laid on the ground smoking and coughing.
"Sasuke" Sakura shouted as she ran over and knelt beside him; Naruto saw he wasn't able to fight anymore and disabled his cloak as Kurenai came out and spoke.
"The winner is Naruto" Kurenai said with some pride in her voice as both Anko and Yakumo cheered and Naruto gave all 3 of them a thumbs up; Kakashi looking on smiled as Naruto won as despite how Naruto may feel about him Kakashi still cared.
"Sasuke are you ok? Can you stand up?" Sakura asked as she helped Sasuke up.
"…way" Sasuke said as Sakura helped him to his feet.
"What was that Sasuke?" Sakura asked.
"Out of my way" Sasuke said shoving her away and going through hand signs "Fire Style: Fire Ball Jutsu" Sasuke shouted as he fired a full powered fire ball towards Naruto while his back was turned.
Kurenai, Anko and Yamuko saw this and Anko shouted as she began to rush forward "Naruto look out" she shouted as Naruto turned around and saw the oncoming fire ball. Before Naruto could move someone blurred in front of him.
"Water Style: Water Wall" Kakashi shouted as he slammed his hands onto the ground and used the water from the earth to make a water wall; the fire ball hit the water and fizzled out as Naruto looked on shocked.
Naruto snapped out of his shock and looked at Sasuke "You fucker; you fired a full powered jutsu at me" Naruto shouted as he began to march forward.
Anko stepped in front of Naruto and put her hand on his chest "NO, NARUTO!" Anko shouted "don't taint your victory". Sasuke looked at Anko and spoke.
"That wasn't a victory; that was-" Sasuke didn't get to finish his sentence as Kakashi blurred forward and kneed Sasuke in the gut making him fall to the ground coughing his lunch up.
"STAY DOWN YOU LITTLE SHIT" Kakashi shouted before turning to Sai "Sai, take Sakura out of here while I handle Sasuke".
Sai nodded with a smile and spoke "of course Kakashi sensei" Sai said before looking at Sakura with a look that spelled danger "you heard him… move".
Sakura didn't protest no matter how much she wanted too; Sakura spun around and was escorted out of the training ground with Sai.
'He better have not hurt my Sasuke too bad' Sakura thought with a scowl 'how dare he attack Sasuke for something that was Naruto's fault'.
As Sakura and Sai left the training ground Kakashi looked at Naruto "Naruto I'm so sorry about this" Kakashi said with sincerity in his voice "let me handle this little shit myself" Kakashi said as he put his foot on Sasuke keeping him pinned to the ground.
Naruto looked at Kakashi with a different look than he had earlier; Naruto had a look of appreciation and relief "thanks Kakashi" he said and Kakashi nodded and eye smiled. Naruto then looked at Sasuke and spoke "try something like that again and I swear… Kakashi won't be able to stop what I'll do to you".
"Shut up Naruto; don't you talk to me like-" Sasuke began until Kakashi punched him in the face knocking him out.
"Enough out of you" Kakashi said as he picked up Sasuke and threw him over his shoulder before looking at Anko "I'll see what the Hokage wants to do with him".
"You better" Anko said and Kakashi nodded before vanished in a swirl of leaves leaving Naruto, Anko, Kurenai and Yakumo in the training ground alone.
"That son of a bitch" Naruto said clenching his fists; Naruto felt someone grab his hand and looked to the side and saw Yakumo.
"Let it go Naruto; Kakashi sensei is taking him to the Hokage" Yakumo said and Naruto scoffed.
"He'll get a slap on the wrist; those civilians love their precious Uchiha" Naruto said "all because he's rich and form a 'noble and historic clan'; they just want him to marry their daughters so they can cash in".
"Screw him Naruto" Anko said as she patted his shoulder "you won your fight fair and square; he attacked you from behind like a pussy".
"She's right Naruto; look at your accomplishment" Kurenai said and Naruto nodded and smiled.
"Thanks guys" Naruto said "lets go and get something to eat"; Naruto and the others all began to walk towards the village trying to get the days events off their minds.
2 hours later: With Naruto
Naruto entered his apartment just as dusk approached and flipped on the lights; upon doing this he saw someone was already inside his home and Naruto got ready to fight. Danzo was sitting at Naruto's dinner table with some food.
"Hello Uzumaki; it's been a while" Danzo said in an even tone as he ate his food "I've been expecting you".
"Danzo? What the hell; why are you in my apartment eating food?" Naruto shouted and Danzo looked at him.
"I wanted to speak with you" Danzo said "and Sai told me that you were arriving soon".
"Hello Naruto" Sai said appearing behind Naruto with a smile on his face making Naruto jump and scream.
"You creep bastard" Naruto shouted as he walked away from Sai "what is this huh? Trying to scare me to death?"
Danzo finished his food and spoke "no, I came here because you have a mission" Danzo said looking at Naruto.
"Huh… Ji-Ji ordered me on another mission?" Naruto asked "I wan't told anything".
"No, no; Hiruzen is not giving you the mission" Danzo said "I am"; Naruto went wide eyed as Danzo got up and spoke. "You see Naruto, my job is internal security of the village" Danzo said "I hunt deserters, kill dissidents and even shinobi suspected of possible treason". "And as it come to my attention… we may have another one" Danzo said and Naruto spoke.
"What are you talking about? I never betrayed Konoha" Naruto said and Danzo shook his head.
"Not you" Danzo said "Sai informed me about Sasuke's unprovoked attack on you after you little spar"; Naruto's eyes went wide as Danzo continued. "Sasuke Uchiha is a prime example of the type of internal threat I look out for" Danzo said "angry, disgruntled, a loner, sociopathic and most of all… unstable". "Sasuke Uchiha witnessed his whole clan be massacred by his elder brother; very traumatic indeed for such a young child" Danzo said "and all that is left is a power hungry egomaniac who'll stop at nothing to kill his brother".
"Then why don't you just kill him now?" Naruto said and Danzo looked at him; Danzo remembered Itachi's threat on the night of the Uchiha massacre and spoke.
"I have my reasons" Danzo said "which is why I'm coming to you"; Danzo walked up to Naruto and spoke. "I cannot kill him myself or with my root ninja, but…" Danzo said putting his hand on Naruto's shoulder "if he's ever to step out of line… or betray the village; I'm sure you can do what has to be done".
Naruto looked at Danzo and spoke "You want me to kill Sasuke in case he goes rogue?" Naruto asked "why me, isn't my life miserable enough in this village; what would happen if I kill that prick?". Naruto crossed his arms and spoke "if I kill him I'll be lynched that very night" he said and Danzo spoke.
"The civilian council protects him with the Daimyo's support due to his clan ties" Danzo said "besides the village already hates you; they couldn't possibly hate you anymore". "You said you wanted to be Hokage?" Danzo said and Naruto nodded.
"More than anything in the world" Naruto said and Danzo spoke.
"Well being a Hokage means making hard choices" Danzo said "if Hiruzen would've done that his apprentice wouldn't be running around out there doing Kami knows what". Danzo tapped his cane on the floor "if you do this for me; I can guarantee you protection, power and eventually the Hokage seat" he said. Danzo leaned in and spoke "all you have to do… is say yes".
Naruto looked at Danzo with a calculating eye and took in a deep breath "fine" Naruto said feeling like he had no other choice since it felt like Danzo wasn't asking.
"Very good" Danzo said turning around and beginning to walk out "this will be a secret A-rank mission; it'll never be reported, recorded or spoken about unless it's with me or Sai". "I'll make sure to wire you some money for your… cooperation" Danzo said before walking out.
Sai looked at Naruto with his smile and spoke "welcome to the team" he said before walking out.
Naruto looked on feeling a multitude of emotions; he was scared and nervous, but also felt a sense of duty in being given this mission. Naruto remembered everything Sasuke had done and said; and as far as Naruto could deduce, while Sasuke was an asshole, he didn't deserve to die. At least didn't deserve to die yet.
Naruto already killed one traitor, Mizuki, which was only a few years ago; Naruto came to the conclusion that if he could do it once, he could do it again.
'Sasuke, you better watch you ass' Naruto thought as he walked over to his couch and saw down 'what the hell did I get myself into'.
1 month later; Hokage's office: With Naruto, Anko, Kurenai, Yakumo and Hiruzen
"I'm glad you can all came on such short notice; I have a mission for you all" Hiruzen said to Team Anko and Kurenai "there has been reports of attacks in the Land of Rivers; some villages being attacked and being forced to pay high dowries to a corrupt small time feudal lord and his group of mercenaries".
"What do you want us to do Lord Hokage?" Kurenai asked and Hiruzen pulled his pipe from his mouth.
"Simple, go to the castle there and kill the lord of that territory" Hiruzen said "also kill any and all mercenaries working with him".
"How many we looking at Lord Third?" Anko asked and Hiruzen spoke.
"About twenty mercenaries at the least, but up to forty at most; but the numbers could be off, so take it with a grain of salt" Hiruzen said "this will be a C-rank mission; but the danger is still real".
"Alright, another C-rank" Naruto said with some enthusiasm "when do we start?"
"Tomorrow morning" Hiruzen said "get some rest, gather your gear and be ready to head out; this will be your first combat mission Naruto, Yakumo". Both Naruto and Yakumo nodded and spoke.
"We'll do our best Lord Hokage" Yakumo said with her soft tone but with confidence.
"We got this Ji-Ji" Naruto said and Hiruzen smiled and nodded; Naruto turned to Yakumo "come on Yakumo; we should get our stuff ready, and lets grab that armor that we bought from Tenten before we go".
"Ok" Yakumo said with a nod.
Anko looked at the two of them and spoke "be at the village gate at nine am tomorrow; and don't be late" she said; both Naruto and Yakumo nodded before they left the room leaving Kurenai and Anko to finish up their business.
The next day; In the Land of Rivers: With the Lord
Lord Toshio was sitting in his throne room in his small castle looking out at his 40 loyal mercenaries kneeling before him; he was a fat and portly man, the very definition of gluttonous.
"Lord Toshio; we have news from Okonoda Village" a mercenary said "they have decided to not pay their dowry to you; they made excuses about 'not having enough money' and 'crop failure'".
"Damn peasants; how am I suppose to rise up in the ranks of nobility when I can't make any money" Toshio said "I'm so close to being able to buy the neighboring providence". "I need that land in order to secure my rise in power; but to do that I need more money" Toshio said.
"Should we go and raid the sack the town my lord?" the mercenary leader said "we could take all their money, sell their women to slavery and sell off their cattle and crops".
"Good idea" Lord Toshio said "but nothing right now; I have called in for a little help". The mercenaries all looked around confused "all I had to do was call in a little favor from a friend from from one of the hidden villages; we'll have ninja backing us up when we take the town". All the mercenaries looked around and began to chat excitedly as the idea of ninja assisting them made the job sound like a cake walk.
'And with the help of these ninja I'll be able to not only get my money, but send a message to all those who defy me' Toshio thought.
In the Northern of River country: With a group of cloaked individuals
A group of 4 men wearing rain cloaks crossed the border into River country and the leader spoke up.
"Alright you three, we have 3 more days of walking to the client; we do this job real quick and earn an easy pay day" the leader said "I don't want any screw up; if you get in my way, I'll cut you down".
"Yes sir" the three ninja in unison as they walked towards to Lord Toshio.
At the same time; In Konoha: With Naruto, Anko, Yakumo and Kurenai
"Alright you guys; we have three days of ground to cover until we reach the objective" Anko said to Naruto and Yakumo "when we engage the enemy I'll be with Naruto and Yakumo will be with Kurenai".
"Stay on your toes you two; and don't be a hero" Kurenai said and both Naruto and Yakumo nodded.
"Lets do this" Naruto said pumping his fist and Yakumo followed suit and Anko smirked.
"Lets roll" Anko said.
Anko, Kurenai, Naruto and Yakumo all ran out of the village gates heading west to the Land of River not knowing their mission was about to get a lot more complicated.
