Momo cleared her throat, revealing herself as well. Izuku gasped sharply at the girl, Izuka looking at her in surprise. Yaoyorozu-Chan too?
"Yaoyorozu?!" Izuku voiced her surprise as she looked up at Izuka specifically.
"You appear to be having a good time with your new friend."
"Midoriya, Mido, I heard everything," Kyoka spoke up next to her.
"Jiro's Earphone Jack! The ultimate spy tech!" Izuku looked at her with his mouth open.
"So how is it going, Mido? Having a great time, I see," Ochaco commented with a bit of despair.
"Eh?" Izuka blinked rapidly, tilting her head at her friends. She didn't seem to be getting the subtext from them. Melissa turned to the twins in confusion.
"Are these your friends?"
"Uh, yeah," Izuku gestured to the three. "These are our classmates...and we didn't tell them we'd be here..."
"It was a last-minute thing, please understand we didn't mean to take off like we did," Izuka looked at her friends in a panic. She didn't want them to think that the two didn't care about their friends, but they had so many things going on preparing for the trip that it slipped their minds...plus, the way they were invited, they couldn't really imply that All Might was closest to the twins.
"Oh, guys! This is our friend Melissa. She was just showing us around the expo a bit," Izuku smiled while stepping up towards them.
"Nice to meet you!" Melissa smiled at the trio. "My dad and Uncle Might are really good fri-"
"AAH!" Izuku shouted, waving his hands in front of the girl, pulling her down a bit. Izuka yelped as she was pulled into the huddle as well by her brother. "I'm sorry. Please don't tell them we came as All Might's guests, it's kind of a big secret, okay?"
"Please, Melissa," Izuka clasped her hands pleadingly.
"But why is that?" The girl blinked in confusion.
"Cause reasons," Izuku pressed his hands together while begging her as well. "We beg you!"
"Your secret's safe," Melissa smiled in assurance and Izuka sighed in relief. She then stood up while turning to the girls.
"The one with the earphone jacks is Jiro-Chan. And these are my best friends, Uraraka-Chan and Yaoyorozu-Chan," The shortest girl gestured to the two.
Momo and Ochaco gasped happily from her referring them as such. "Do you mind if you start calling us by our first names from now on?" Ochaco's eyes shined at the girl, who was now a bit concerned. The only other person who asked for a name change from her was Katsuki, but the reason here was something she was lost on.
"Huh? Umm, sure? Are you two okay, do I need to call someone?" She turned away to find someone.
"No, no, everything is fine!" Momo looked away with happy tears in her eyes. "We're just glad to see you, that's all!"
Izuka gave a sheepish expression, patting their backs in unison. She had no idea what had gotten into them all of a sudden... Kyoka just shook her head silently at the two for them not explaining themselves.
"How about we all grab some tea at the cafe?" Melissa smiled towards them, and then turned to Izuka. "You can take some pictures on the way and then you can give the camera back later."
"Thank you so much, Melissa," Izuka smiled up at her gratefully.
"I see she knows your hobby?" Momo raised a brow at the blonde.
"I wanted some pictures of the expo so that I can draw lots of them when we get home," She laughed awkwardly while rubbing the back of her neck. Ochaco looked away with a small pout on her face that Melissa knew about her art.
"Wow! You really got to work with pro heroes? Like, out on the field?" Melissa asked the girls, who were sharing internship stories. They all had their drinks in front of them. And the slight awkwardness from before seemed to have completely gone away.
"Just normal training and a few patrols," Ochaco stated and then giggled a little.
"I helped out with a hostage crisis, but only the evacuation part," Kyoka spoke up next.
"That's still amazing though!" Melissa smiled encouragingly at the girl.
"Somehow, I ended up in a TV commercial for hair products," Momo blushed in embarrassment.
"Sounds like an experience! Lucky."
Momo looked up with a small giggle and smiled.
"One that I don't want to have anytime soon," Izuka murmured into her mango boba tea, her eyes closed.
"What was yours like?" Melissa turned to the girl. "Something about someone named Kacchan?" This earned a reaction of Izuka's eyes widening and she turned away. She then did a spit-take, heaving a bit as her cheeks were red. "Oh my! I'm so sorry, are you okay?"
"I'm fine..." She used a napkin to wipe her mouth, coughing a bit as she sat up. She then waved a rapid hand. "Nothing too exciting, I don't know who a Kacchan is!" The girl denied quickly, assuming that Izuku mentioned that she interned with him...she sent a small glare towards her brother, who didn't turn around.
Kyoka blinked while Ochaco let out a small amused giggle. She was the only one besides Izuku who knew what happened during her internship with Best Jeanist. Plus she did see their interactions during the final, and knew that there was at least something going on. Otherwise Izuka wouldn't have worked with him...
"Anyway, we were thinking about going to check out the pavilion where the academy's exhibit is tomorrow," Kyoka spoke up with a small smile.
"I'm really excited!" Ochaco gushed while Izuku was sitting at a table nearby. He looked relieved that the others didn't question what Melissa was trying to say earlier.
Izuka and I are saved...they're not questioning anything...
"Thanks for waiting!" A familiar voice spoke up, putting down his drink. Izuku had ordered a lemonade with an All Might shaped lemon.
He then opened his mouth in realization. "I know that voice!" He looked up to see Denki himself. "Kaminari!"
This gained the attention of everyone else as they looked to see Minoru standing next to him as well. "Is that Mineta?" Ochaco called out while Minoru just winked in response.
"What are you doing here?" Kyoka wondered to the two.
"They needed extra wait staff and since it meant a free trip to the island, we applied to work! Right?" He smiled down at his shorter friend.
"We get to explore the expo on our breaks, and we make some money! Plus there's a chance we'll have passionate encounters with some of the cute-" He gasped once he laid eyes on Melissa specifically. "Oh my god, I think I'm in love!"
Denki and Minoru wrapped their arms around Izuku. "Hey Midoriya, who's that high voltage hottie over there?"
"Don't be greedy, introduce us!" Minoru grinned widely, both boys having devious looks on their faces. "It's already bad enough that you get to live with Mido."
"Well, that's um..." Izuku looked between them nervously and then pushed away Minoru. "And she's my sister, Mineta!"
"Are they also your classmates?" Melissa turned to the other girls.
Denki and Minoru zipped over to her and she gave a nervous look. "That's right," Denki grinned widely, a blush on his face.
"We're basically pros. Hey, Mido," Minoru winked up at her and she scooched her chair closer to Melissa with wide eyes.
"Why are you two slacking off?!" Tenya's voice boomed as he was speeding over to them. "You wanted to make more money, didn't you?! But you're not willing to work hard?!" He screamed, frightening his two classmates.
"Ida?!" Izuku screeched upon seeing him, wondering if the whole class was here too.
"You're here too?!" Ochaco called out as he zipped past their tables. Denki and Minoru fell onto the ground, looking up at him.
"I come from a long line of heroes," He then turned around to his classmates, waving his hands around. "It's to be expected that we received an invitation to the expo. But my family was busy, so it's just me."
"I wondered if you'd be here," Momo spoke up with a small smile, gesturing to herself. "I received an invitation because my father's a shareholder in some of the expo's sponsor companies. It's so fun to get to go to the preview!"
"Yeah! And she had a few extra plus-ones, so we gambled for 'em," Kyoka explained with a small smile.
All the girls aside from Izuka were gathered around. Momo was standing nearby them. "No hard feelings to whoever wins!" They all shouted in unison. "Rock, paper, scissors!" Three drew scissors while two had rock.
"My life is oveeeeeer!" Mina shouted in dismay as she, Tsuyu, and Toru were the ones who lost. And the other two were just as disappointed as she was.
"So after an impartial game of chance, the two of us ended up joining the fun as her guests," Kyoka grinned widely as Ochaco nodded with a hum.
"The other girls are here, they just can't visit the preview," She revealed to everyone.
"I asked Mido to join us so she could have a chance, but she was busy. It turned out for the better since she ended up being here anyway," Momo turned to the girl with a small smile. Izuka hung her head with a small groan.
"I'm so sorry...!"
"It's alright," Momo smiled, patting her on the head.
"Oh, are they really?" Izuku asked curiously from his table.
"Uh-huh! We're all planning to look around together once the expo opens up to the public tomorrow. You're more than welcome to join us, Mido. You owe us for not telling your friends you were gonna be here," Momo waved a playful finger at the girl.
"Alright, I guess that's fair," Izuka lifted up her head and gave a small amused smile.
"Here's a thought. Why don't I show you girls the sights?" Melissa offered the four.
"You're sure you have time?" Ochaco asked in excitement as the others gasped.
"Mmhm," Melissa nodded with a small smile.
"That's awesome!" All four chimed in unison.
"And you can take some pictures of us too," The blonde turned to Izuka. "That way you have even more to sketch when you get home."
"Ahhh!" Izuka cried out happily, beaming. "I would love that...thank you!"
"Please take us with you!" Denki and Minoru rushed over to her, to the shock of the girls.
A large explosion suddenly occurred, alarming all of them. "What was that noise?!" Izuku turned around and in the distance, there was smoke coming from a small mountainous section of the expo. The twins arrived first, Izuka having used her flying star. Up ahead was a demonstration of sorts going on, but they couldn't see everything just yet. The smoke was still clearing up.
"A clear in the sum of 33 seconds! He's in 8th place!" The female announcer stated as Eijiro looked up with a grin. He was in his hero costume just like most of his classmates.
"Kirishima?!" Izuku yelped as Izuka blinked, flying above his head.
"So I'm guessing he's from UA as well?" Melissa wondered from behind.
"Yeah, he's in the same class as us," Izuku revealed to the girl.
"Please welcome our next challenger!" This got their attention as they looked down. Izuka almost fell off her flying star as Izuku yelped in shock. Katsuki himself stepped out into the field, not seeing them because they were standing from behind.
"Kacchan?!"
Melissa blinked and looked towards Izuka, whose mouth was shaking in disbelief, her eyes wide. She knew that this had to be the same Kacchan she heard about before.
"The villainy task force has been reset! Ready? Go!" Katsuki launched himself into the sky with a big grin. He then held out his hand, flames sparking from it. He destroyed robots left and right, never stopping once as he took to the sky again. Izuka blinked at how fast he was, in a bit of awe.
He's so fast and fluid...
"DIE!" He shouted as his hand glowed. Izuka then cringed after hearing this.
Die?
A big explosion occurred, shocking the host. "Look at that time! Only 15 seconds! First place!"
Katsuki landed behind her with a smirk, the crowd cheering. He then stood up and took a couple of steps forward. "Hey, isn't that Midoriya and Mido in the stands?" Eijiro asked, causing the blond to stop. The red-head was looking up right at the twins. Izuku laughed nervously while rubbing the back of his neck. Katsuki could also see Izuka lowering herself down to land between her brother and Momo. The two screamed as he jumped to grip the railing, looking pissed.
"Damn it! What are you doing here, Deku?!" Katsuki yelled in their faces.
"Oh, hey there, Kacchan!" Izuku stepped far back with a sheepish expression. "Maybe calm down-"
"Don't you dare tell me what to do!" He screamed, causing the boy to recoil back and cover himself. The blond saw Izuka and flinched, turning away with a snarl. "You too?!" Tenya then stepped up between him and the twins.
"Bakugo, behave yourself!" He chastised his classmate in anger.
"Out of my way!" Katsuki screamed at him angrily. Izuka groaned while placing a hand on her forehead. At least he didn't call her a nickname, but his social skills with anyone else was not an improvement like with her...she then glanced up at him and giggled to herself a little. Just like when she saw that photo of him on the train after the Sports Festival, he was a little funny seeing him like this. Even if she didn't agree with his behavior right now.
"Why is that boy so angry?" Melissa asked her new friends.
"That's just who he is," Kyoka explained to her.
Ochaco then turned to her in determination. "He and Deku are fated rivals! He and Mido on the other hand are...complicated, let's say."
"I see..." Melissa gave a sheepish smile, blinking. "Mido?" She was confused since the nickname didn't come up until now.
"That's what we call her so that it doesn't get confusing between the twins," Kyoka gestured to Izuka, who was shaking her head at Katsuki. "She's gotten very used to it, even our teachers call her that."
"I'll stick with Izuka. That nickname seems to be reserved for only you guys," Melissa gave a small grin. Ochaco blinked and then hummed happily. She was glad that the girl didn't assume that Izuka would want her to say that nickname. In Japan, first names meant much more than it did at I-Island, so she wasn't bothered by Melissa calling the short girl that either.
"So Kirishima, you two got invited to I-Expo as well?" Momo called out to the boy.
"Naaah. Bakugo was invited since he won the UA Sports Festival. I just tagged along with him," He smiled, jerking a thumb to himself. "You guys gonna do this villain course or what?"
"Don't even try it," Katsuki snarled before anyone could even offer. "There's no way you'll get a better score than I did!"
"Yeah, you're probably right," Izuku nervously agreed with this. "Yup."
"You can keep your fast record, Bakugo," Izuka pressed her fingers together awkwardly. Izuku blinked in surprise at her that she was saying his last name like that. And so did the rest of her classmates as they stared in disbelief. Her brother was going to ask her when did that start when Ochaco spoke up.
"Huh. I'm not so sure. Only one way to find out, I guess."
"Yeah, you're probably right," He then gave a sound of shock to what he just agreed to. Katsuki then jumped over the railing while approaching him.
"Just hurry and get your pathetic attempt over with, you damn nerd!" He then pushed away Tenya. "Then you get out of here!"
"Right! I'll do that!"
"Please stop yelling in his face," Izuka frowned in disapproval at the boy.
"Don't tell me what to do!" He whipped around to her and she held up an arm in front of her brother with a glare.
"Did you not hear please?"
He stared at her for a few seconds and then huffed, turning away. He was only backing off because she was annoying him, not because he was listening to her.
"We have a new challenger coming in at the last minute! Will he end up on top or fail in front of the entire expo?" The host's voice boomed while Izuku clenched his fists. His power then started appearing onto his body.
If I'm doing this...I'm gonna go for it! One for All...Full Cowling!
He moved his arms, a strong gust of wind coming from him. "Task force is set! Ready? Go!" Once she moved down her arm, he ran up to the rocks. He jumped all around, Melissa gasping in shock. He was then falling towards a villain.
To keep from injuring my arm, I'll use five percent of my power! He punched right through a robot, exploding it to pieces. He jumped and went right through another one before punching the rest in seconds. He jumped up to the sky to punch the last one.
"An incredible run! He's in second place at 16 seconds!" The host revealed, to the delight of most of his classmates. Izuka laughed happily while clapping for her brother. Melissa blinked rapidly since she had never seen his Quirk before until now.
He has such explosive speed...and that destructive power...it's just like Uncle Might's! She then frowned a little as she didn't know if it was the same or just similar. Something about Izuku's gear was getting her attention though. But...
"Mm, wow!" Ochaco gushed at Izuku once he returned back.
"That was a good showing, Midoriya!" Tenya smiled down at him.
"I didn't think I'd be able to get so close to Kacchan's time," He smiled happily, earning a growl from Katsuki.
"What?! No way, I'll go again and blast your score to ash!" He screamed at the boy and then pointed at Izuka. "You go next so I can blast two scores at the same time!"
"Huh?" Izuka blinked and then rapidly waved a hand. "No, that's fine. We all know that my score won't be as-"
"I SAID GO NEXT, YOU HEAR ME?!" Katsuki screamed in her face and she pushed him away with a huff.
"Okay, fine! If it'll make you feel better," She looked annoyed as she turned around. Katsuki growled for the push, but didn't do anything as they watched her walk down the steps. Melissa glanced over her shoulder at the girl.
She seems to act really different around that boy.
"We have another new challenger at the last minute!" Luckily for Izuka, there wasn't a full crowd so she could handle this. She stepped out into the center, clenching her fists and looking up ahead. "Will she be able to keep up or will this be another blunder?"
Yellow sparked from her hands as she narrowed her eyes. I have to maintain control. Alright...I can do this! Her flying star appeared underneath her feet and she jumped on. She then placed one hand on the star to give it energy.
"Task force has been reset. Ready? Go!" The host shouted and Izuka shot off into the sky. She flew up to the first robot and held out her other hand. A big shooting star came from her as it shot straight through the robot like it was nothing. She flew over it as it exploded into pieces, but the shooting star was still going.
Izuka smirked a little as she watched it go through the other robots in the same path Katsuki and Izuku took. She then looked up to the sky at the last one, soaring up to it as her arm then got engulfed in flames.
"Comet Punch!" She punched the last one into pieces.
"Look at that speed! 17 seconds! 3rd place!" Izuka floated down safely with a small smile.
"So fast!" Izuku gushed as the other classmates smiled besides Katsuki, who just stared at her indifferently. Melissa gave a shocked look towards the girl.
Her speed is on par with Deku's...and she has multiple uses of her Quirk just like Uncle Might, just with different abilities. However… She stared at the robots curiously since Izuka seemed to be holding back.
"You did amazing, Mido!" Momo called out while waving.
"That's my sister!" Izuku laughed while running up to the railing. She giggled as she waved back, Katsuki staring down at her. She didn't do as bad as he thought she would—which was good since he did help train her for the practical exam.
Suddenly the area shook, and a bunch of ice appeared...
